Redmi 13C 5G to launch on December 6 in India, Here’s what we know so far

Following the recent revelation of the launch date for the Redmi 13C in India, the brand has officially confirmed the arrival of the 5G variant as well. Both the 4G and 5G versions of the Redmi 13C are set to debut in India on December 6. Although the exact launch time remains undisclosed, it is anticipated to occur around 12 PM IST.

Since the 4G model is already available in the global market, we already know its specifications. However, the same cannot be said about the 5G variant. So here’s a look at what we know so far.

Redmi 13C 5G details:

From a previous leak, we know that the Redmi 13C 5G will come with a Dimensity 6100 Plus chipset. Built on a 6nm process, this chip was launched in July of 2023, making it fairly new. It is a lower-end SoC that has previously appeared on devices like the Realme 11x 5G (review) and the Realme Narzo 60x 5G.

The 3C certification has revealed that the smartphone will feature 10W fast charging. What’s interesting is that the 4G variant is getting access to 18W fast charging. Further details are expected to be revealed via teasers in the coming days. In the meantime, have a look at the spec sheet of the 4G variant to get an idea of what to expect from the 5G model.

Redmi 13C 4G specs:

The Redmi 13C comes with a 6.74-inch LCD display featuring an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. Powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, the device supports configurations up to 8 GB of RAM and runs on Android 13-based MIUI 14.

Storage options go up to 256 GB, with additional support for up to 4 GB of virtual RAM and expandable storage via a MicroSD card slot. The phone houses a robust 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging and includes a side-facing fingerprint scanner for added security.

Its rear camera setup comprises a 50-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel depth camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera, while the front-facing camera boasts 8 megapixels.

With dual SIM support, it offers connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

French startup Éclair will soon unveil its AI-powered e-bike. The bike uses AI to predict the appropriate rider assist level for a seamless and natural ride. Éclair started business in 2021 and targets sustainability in its operations. The company sources all its production needs from France and neighboring European countries.

The new Éclair AI-powered e-bike will come with an array of tech features to underscore its artificial intelligence bent. The e-bike is yet to be named but is similar to the Smalo PX2 e-bike. The Smalo PX2 uses AI to learn the rider’s habits and adjust assistance automatically. The upcoming Éclair e-bike is made of steel and aluminum with a solid focus on low carbon emissions. It has a sporty frame that is as sturdy as it can get for rigorous trips. Éclair claims the e-bike is lightweight, easy to use, and tech-loaded.

The Éclair’s upcoming eponymous e-bike is designed for commuter purposes. The bike’s AI system learns based on the specific habits of the rider to provide assistance in sync with the rider’s riding pattern and terrain. The system is capable of predicting rider needs and eliminates the need to switch between ride modes. The AI system of the e-bike will also provide maximum power during starts for an easier and seamless launch. The Éclair’s AI-powered e-bike’s tech architecture is a culmination of Éclair’s collaboration with eBikeLabs for its eBike OS application.

The rider’s smartphone in the Éclair’s upcoming e-bike is used as a control screen for the bike. The bike thus omits a physical display on the top tube or handlebars. The upcoming iQOO 12 smartphone is set to make its debut in the Indian market on December 12. The brand has begun unveiling the specifications and features of the Indian variant, and it appears to be identical to the previously released Chinese model. The only remaining unknown factor is the pricing, which has been disclosed through a recent report leak.

As per a report by MySmartPrice, iQOO is aiming to price the iQOO 12 under ₹55,000. Tipster Mukul Sharma has also shared information regarding the pricing. It is revealed that the box price of the iQOO 12 is ₹5X,999. The tipster claims that the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) is ₹56,999 and the actual pricing could be around ₹53,000 to ₹55,000. The phone will launch in two variants: 12GB/256GB, and 16GB/512GB.

Other than the super attractive price points, what makes this leak more interesting is the fact that iQOO recently cut down the price of its iQOO 11 models in India by up to ₹13,000, bringing the starting price down to ₹49,999. If the iQOO 12 does launch at the leaked price points, we might see the price of the iQOO 11 fall even more in the coming days. Till then, there are the specs and features of the iQOO 12.

Google is pushing a first-of-its-kind update to the Google Pixel 8 Pro. It updates the AI Core app that powers on-device AI features. This AI Core app operates quietly in the background to process some of the AI-driven functionalities directly on the device instead of relying on the cloud servers and internet connection.

An enhancement in on-device AI capabilities

According to a Google Play Store listing that showed up earlier, “AI Core powers features across Android and provides apps with the latest Al models” However, the Play Store listing has been taken down. Probably Google plans for a separate announcement for this addition.

While the average user may not directly interact with AI Core, it plays a pivotal role in enhancing the overall user experience on the Pixel 8 Pro. The recent update, taking the app from version 0.release.539035001 to 0.release.582652206, is specifically tailored for the Pixel 8 Pro (codenamed “husky”). Pixel phones and tablets have included a placeholder for AI Core since the initial Android 14 update.

If you are using the Pixel 8 Pro, the update should have already been downloaded automatically on your phone and serving its job. Currently, this update is reported exclusive to the Pixel 8 Pro. However, it’s expected to make its way to the Pixel 8 if not to the older pixel devices with Tensor chips in the near future.

Some notable applications of the latest foundation models might include the implementation of features like ‘Zoom Enhance’ or making Magic Eraser work more swiftly. Notably, Samsung has also confirmed the addition of these kinds of capabilities to its upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S24 series, referring to it as an ‘AI Phone.’

This enhancement results in a modest boost in range, offering 261 miles on a single charge according to EPA estimates. This increase, though seemingly small, indicates Hyundai’s commitment to incremental progress in EV technology.

However, it’s not just about longer distances. The new Kona Electric also introduces improvements in efficiency, although it’s marginally less energy-efficient than its predecessor. The Beast mode will allow the EV to go from 0 to 60mph in less than 3 seconds

Beast Mode, a feature set to enhance the Cybertruck‘s performance, seems akin to the Ludicrous Mode found in other Tesla models. An animation from Tesla’s app suggests that engaging Beast Mode will simulate a high-speed experience, hinting at a significant boost in power and speed. This aligns with Elon Musk‘s claim on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast that the Cybertruck can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds when Beast Mode is activated.

The Cybertruck will be available in two trims: Base and Luxury. The Base model is expected to feature smaller wheels, while the Luxury variant could sport larger ones with stylish black covers reminiscent of the 2019 concept vehicle. Both companies had reportedly extended their contracts seeing them through 2029. However, things between the two haven’t been going well lately. Now, a new report reveals that Apple is pulling out of the partnership with Goldman Sachs.

Apple pulls the plug with Goldman Sachs

The Wall Street Journal citing people familiar with the matter reported that Apple sent a proposal to the investment bank to dissolve its partnership within 12 to 15 months. The transition will be happening over the aforementioned time period and the termination is said to cover their complete consumer partnership including the savings account service which was introduced earlier this year.

As of now, it remains unclear which banking institution will partner with Apple next. WSJ had previously reported that Goldman Sachs was in talks with American Express regarding the prospects of them taking over the Apple Card program. As per reports, the banking firm suffered losses mainly attributed to the Apple Card.

Apple also confirmed to Reuters that Apple Card has seen a great response and they will continue to innovate and deliver the best tools and services for them. This also suggests that the Cupertino-based tech giant’s banking services will continue to exist. The Apple Card that is offered in both digital and physical versions is available in select countries. The company also offers a high-yield savings account and BNPL scheme.

As the name suggests, it is an upgraded version of the Buds 5 that were launched earlier this year. The latest TWS earphones are touted to offer the best sound quality ever in Redmi headphones. The Redmi Buds 5 Pro has the same design as the non-pro variant with a semi-in-ear stem and silicone ear tips for a comfortable fit. The earbuds are IP54-rated dust and water-resistant.

Audio-wise, the Redmi Buds 5 Pro are equipped with a 10mm tweeter and an 11mm dynamic subwoofer for clear treble and strong bass respectively. The TWS earphones pack active noise cancellation up to 52dB. There is also AI adaptive adjustment and a 4kHz ultrawide noise reduction frequency band that will automatically adjust noise cancellation. The audio device supports LHDC 5.0 codec for high-quality audio streaming. Notably, the Buds 5 Pro also features spatial audio for a 360-degree immersive sound experience. The device’s physical appearance is largely similar to the other two phones, with a notable difference being the use of plastic for the chassis of the terminal instead of other materials. Xiaomi held an event in China today where it unveiled a host of products under its Redmi sub-brand. These include smartphones, laptop, smartwatch, TWS earphone, and more. The new smartphones are the Redmi K70 lineup models comprising of the K70e, K70, and K70 Pro. The trio arrive as the successor to last year’s K60 devices. The K70 Pro is the top-end model in the latest-generation K-series. The standard and pro variants are nearly identical to each other apart from a few differences. Let’s take a look at both smartphones below.

Redmi K70, K70 Pro specifications and features

Beginning with the design, the Redmi K70 duo sport a new design language with a rectangular camera island and a boxy metal frame.

In terms of display, the Redmi K70 and K70 Pro have a 6.67-inch TCL C8 OLED screen bearing a resolution of 2K and a 120Hz refresh rate. Both phones offer a 4,000 nits peak brightness and 3840Hz PWM high-frequency dimming. There is a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout on the display. The smartphones support HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. They are equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner.

On the imaging front, the Redmi K70 devices feature triple rear cameras. Both the standard and pro variants have a 50MP 1/1.55-inch primary sensor with OIS support.
