Adobe Lightroom for Android now supports HDR images!

Adobe’s Lightroom app for Android has received a major update, adding support for HDR images. This means that users can now edit and export their HDR images directly from the app, without having to use a separate program.

However, there are a few limitations to this new feature. First, it is only available on devices running Android 14. Second, it is currently only supported on a limited number of devices, including the Google Pixel 7 phone and later.

To use the new HDR feature, simply open an HDR image in Lightroom and go into Edit mode. Then, select the Light tool and scroll to the bottom to toggle on the Edit in HDR Mode option. Now, tap the HDR logo at the top right to view the HDR histogram, which will help you control the distribution of brightness in your image.

You can also enable options like Visualize HDR and Preview for SDR display to see how your changes will look on different devices. Finally, fine-tune settings like Exposure, Contrast, and Clarity in SDR Settings. Once you’re happy with your adjustments, tap the share icon to export your HDR photo and choose the file type.

To note, Lightroom for Android currently supports three color spaces for HDR photos: HDR sRGB (Rec. 709), HDR P3, and HDR Rec. 2020. These are enhanced versions of sRGB, Display P3, and Rec. 2020 color spaces, each with different color gamuts.

The addition of HDR support to Lightroom for Android is great news for Android users who enjoy taking and editing HDR photos. However, it is unfortunate that it is currently limited to such a small number of devices. Hopefully, Adobe will expand support to more devices in the future.

In terms of health, the Honor Watch 4 Pro packs a heart-rate monitor, SpO2 sensor, sleep and stress tracker. The Honor Heart Health is also capable of detecting atrial fibrillation. There is also a fat-burning algorithm. The smartwatch supports built-in GPS and various sports modes.

The Honor Watch 4 Pro features eSIM connectivity for voice calling functionality without the need of a smartphone. There is also WeChat, an independent payment option, NFC, music streaming capability, and more convenient features. The smartwatch is claimed to last 14 days under normal usage whereas with eSIM functionality, it will offer 10 days of usage.

The Honor Watch 4 Pro is offered in Black, Brown, and Dark Green colors. The former two are priced at CNY 1,599 (~$219) whereas the Dark Green option costs CNY 1,799 (~$246). The smartwatch is up for pre-orders today with sales commencing from October 16.

Honor launched the Purse V outward folding phone last month and the Magic V2 earlier this year. Now the brand has unveiled a third foldable phone for this year. The newest addition is the Honor Magic Vs 2. It arrives as the successor to the last year’s Magic Vs. The latest offering is touted to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor. Alongside, the foldable device, the brand has also announced the Watch 4 Pro. Read on to know what the Magic Vs 2 offers out of the box.

Honor Magic Vs 2 specifications and features

The Honor Magic Vs 2 is a book-style foldable phone. It is touted to be the thinnest foldable phone that measures 5.1mm when expanded and 10.7mm when folded. The company says that it has used rare earth magnesium alloy to make the phone lighter weighing 229 grams. The device has a protruding rectangular camera module and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button on the right side. Honor has adopted a titanium hinge mechanism for enhanced durability.

The Honor Magic Vs 2 has a 6.43-inch primary external display bearing a 2,344 x 2,156 pixels resolution and a peak brightness of 2,500 nits. The internal screen measures 7.9 inches with a resolution of 2,376 x 1,060 pixels. Both displays have an AMOLED panel, a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. There are also symmetrical bezels surrounding the screen.

On the imaging front, the Honor Magic Vs 2’s triple rear camera setup comprises a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 20MP telephoto unit with a maximum 40x digital zoom. Up front, there is a 16MP selfie snapper.

Under the hood, the Honor Magic Vs 2 is equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. It packs up to 16GB RAM and 512GB onboard storage. The foldable phone draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 66W fast charging. Software-wise, the device runs on MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13.

Connectivity options on the Honor Magic Vs 2 include 5G, USB-C port, WiFi, Bluetooth, and NFC.

The Honor Magic Vs 2 is offered in Glacier Blue, Velvet Black and Coral Purple colors. It starts at CNY 6,999 (~$958) for the base 12GB + 256GB variant whereas the 16GB + 512GB is priced at CNY 7,699 (~$1,052).

The Japanese tech giant shared a teaser on its official X account (formerly Twitter). On the social media platform, the brand shared a new video teaser. This video doesn’t reveal any finer details but offers us a slight glimpse at the new party speakers. Unfortunately, Sony has yet to reveal the exact model or name of the upcoming device but the teaser does showcase some of its design.

Looking at the video, the speaker appears to feature a trolley wheel. In other words, it is portable despite its size for a party speakers. Another notable aspect that can be observed is the lighting system and two of the tweeter units. Since the finer details are still unclear, we will likely have to wait for the company to share more details regarding the new speakers.

In the tweet, Sony said that “Are you ready to paint the town red? Someone is coming and they’re bringing the party home! European Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton directly addressed prominent tech figures, including Elon Musk of messaging platform X and Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, expressing concerns about the misuse of their platforms to disseminate false information about the Middle East conflict.

Apple is widely expected to expand OLED display technology to the iPad Pro as soon as next year, but it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer for an OLED MacBook Pro.

Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, said in a recent webinar with Bloomberg that Apple is not likely to release an OLED MacBook Pro until 2026 or 2027. The reason for the delay is that the manufacturers of OLED panels need to set up dedicated production lines for laptop-sized panels, and that will take some time.

Young’s predictions corroborate with previous information from The Elec, which also reported that the OLED MacBook Pro had been delayed to 2027.

OLED displays offer a number of advantages over LCD displays, including better brightness and contrast, deeper blacks, and improved power efficiency. This makes them a good fit for the MacBook Pro, which is Apple’s flagship laptop lineup.

However, since OLED displays are not expected to be available on MacBook Pros anytime soon, we can only wait. Thankfully, the current displays on MacBook Pros are already very good, so this isn’t a dire situation at all.

Despite the delay in OLED MacBook Pros, Young said that Apple is still on track to release OLED iPads next year. He also said that the first iPad Air and iPad mini models with OLED displays are not expected to launch until 2026.

The head of HTech has just revealed its plans for upcoming Honor launches. The company is gearing up for a new release later this year and a major announcement for next year as well. So here’s everything shared by the HTech CEO, Madhav Sheth.

An Honor foldable phone launches in H1 2024

In an interview with Financial Express, the senior official shed some light on upcoming Honor launches. Madhav Sheth said that the next Honor branded smartphone, following the Honor 90 (review), will be announced around the end of this year. In other words, a new device could be unveiled in December 2023. Unfortunately, he did not confirm the exact model that will be unveiled or hint at its pricing details.

Furthermore, Sheth also confirmed HTech’s plans to begin Honor smartphone production in India by the first quarter of next year. It is already in talks with three manufacturing partners but has yet to sign a contract deal. A notable piece of information shared during the interview was the arrival of a foldable smartphone in India. But again, the exact details as to which model will be announced are still unclear. Although, it is likely a part of its Magic V series.

Honor’s future plans will include expansion in the offline market as well. Apart from the roadmap, the HTech executive also talked about other brands and expressed his disappointment with brands like Vivo, Samsung, iQOO, Realme, Oppo, and OnePlus. He specifically pointed out these companies for launching the same device under a different name and channel.

There’s no denying Samsung’s renowned update support for its Galaxy Smartphones and tablets. Following the previous record, the company stands ahead of several OEMs in providing the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 Beta updates to compatible smartphones. In a step ahead, the Korean Giant is rolling out One UI 6 Beta 2 for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy A34, and Galaxy A53 smartphones. These smartphones have already received the Beta 1 update a while ago, and the new build is rolling in some countries.

Xiaomi has launched a new washing machine in China called the Mijia Super Clean Pro. It is priced at 1,999 yuan (approximately $280) and will go on sale on JD.com tomorrow. Here are the details.

The Mijia Super Clean Pro is a front-load washing machine with a sleek design and a large barrel diameter of 530mm. Its inner barrel features upgraded laser welding technology and a one-piece design without rivets, which results in a cleaning ratio of 1:1.

Inside, it is powered by a DD direct drive motor and four shock absorbers. These combined with smart chips and algorithms deliver a swift 90° swing of the inner cylinder.

iQOO is gearing up to launch the iQOO 12 series of flagship smartphones in its home market of China. But ahead of the official announcement, a fresh leak has hinted at some of the key specifications of the top-end iQOO 12 Pro model.

iQOO 12 Pro Key Specs Revealed

The news arrives from a known tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website). The Chinese smartphone maker’s next gen flagship smartphone will apparently sport the latest E7 AMOLED display made by Samsung. This panel might come with curved edges and reportedly house an integrated ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor from Goodix. For those unaware, this screen is expected to offer 1.5K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate.

The tipster adds that the iQOO 12 Pro will arrive with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Meanwhile, the iQOO 12 is rumored to arrive with an IP64 rating for protection against the natural elements. This is all the information that was shared by the tipster. However, our previous reports have hinted at some of its other key specifications. Under the hood, the device will likely be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC that is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.

A large 5,400mAh battery pack could power this device, which supports up to 120W fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. On the rear, the high-end smartphone will apparently feature an OmniVision OV50H 50-megapixel primary sensor and an OV64B 64-megapixel periscopic zoom lens. The camera module will probably house an ultra-wide-angle sensor as well.

Samsung Exynos 2400 Benchmarked on Geekbench, Falls Short of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Score

After a pause of a couple of years, the Korean giant is finally preparing to launch the next flagship S Series smartphone with its own Exynos 2400 SoC. There are already rumors and leaks about the presence of Exynos chipset, and the recent Geekbench listing confirms these leaks and rumors. It is quite surprising to see the Exynos 2400 in action and scoring much better than its predecessor.

Bundling inside Samsung Galaxy S24+ European variant bearing model SM-S926B, the SoC scored 2067 points in the single-core benchmark, and 6520 points in the multi-core test. The performance fell short of the leaked Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 benchmark which scored 2234 points in single-core and 6807 in multi-core test.

As far as the architecture is concerned, it is a 10-core chipset with 1x core @3.21GHz, 2x Cores @2.90Ghz, 3x Cores @2.59 GHz and 4x Cores @1.96 GHz. Further, the benchmark details the presence of 8GB RAM and Android 14 on the board.

As per previous reports, it is expected to offer 70% improved performance in comparison with its predecessor – Exynos 2200, and 14.7x faster AI processing. It is expected to bundle Xclipse 940 GPU with RDNA3 AMD architecture.

This is not the final performance test for the chipset, it will be tuned further by Samsung. Concluding the actual performance on the benchmarks would not be fair. It is better to wait and watch for official information from Samsung side.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Previous Leaks

There are multiple reports about the presence of Exynos 2400 on Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ models shipping in Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Africa. However, the Snapdragon-powered models will only launch in North America (United States and Canada). Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will bundle Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC across the globe. It is quite early to conclude from the leaks, so better to take it as a grain of salt in the ocean.

Oppo has confirmed that its upcoming foldable smartphone, the Find N3, will be launched in China on October 19. The brand also officially teased its color options a little while ago, revealing the design of the smartphone. However, now we get to see the smartphone in a couple of real-life photos.

The photos were shared by Weibo’s CEO Gaofei Wang on the Chinese micro-blogging platform, but he later deleted the post. However, the Chinese website ITHome was quick enough to collect the details before it was taken down.

The real-life photos show the Find N3 in a new red color, which was not previously seen in renders. This variant appears to have a leather back, unlike the green and gold variants teased by Oppo, which likely have a plain glass finish. It’s possible that Oppo may be reserving this red color option for a launch-exclusive release.

Aside from the new color, the real-life photos also reveal that the Find N3 is slightly thicker yet a bit lighter than the Huawei Mate X3. Wang measured the Find N3’s weight and thickness using a measuring device and found it to be 12.44mm thick and weighing 244.8g.

In comparison, the Mate X3 measures 11.8mm and weighs 248.9 grams. Wang also noted that the Find N3’s right-angled frame makes the phone look good but it makes it less grippy than the Mate X3.

As for the specifications, earlier rumors suggest that the Oppo Find N3 will have a 7.82-inch AMOLED inner display and a 6.31-inch AMOLED outer display, both with a 120Hz refresh rate. Likewise, it’s expected to come with a 48MP main camera, a 48MP ultrawide camera, and a 64MP telephoto camera. The phone will have a 4,805mAh battery with support for 100W charging.

Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy S24 series early next year. The lineup will comprise the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and the top end Galaxy S24 Ultra. Now, a new leak has revealed key core specifications of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ models. So here are all the details.

Samsung Galaxy S24 & S24+ powered by a new and improved Exynos 2400

The South Korean tech giant is planning on equipping the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ with a new Exynos 2400 SoC. For those unaware, Samsung is rumored to launch the Galaxy S24 Ultra with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in every region. The 2024 Exynos chipset will feature a deca core configuration. This means that it houses 10 cores.

The chipset will have a 1+3+2+4 structure, which consists of one Cortex X4 Prime CPU core that clocks in at 3.19GHz. It is paired with five Cortex A720 performance cores with two cores having a 2.9GHz frequency while the other three have a 2.6GHz clock speed. Lastly, there are four Cortex A520 efficiency cores that clock in at 1.95GHz. The chipset will reportedly also feature the Samsung XClipse 940 and the Exynos 5300, which is an integrated modem that enables a downlink speed of up to 10GBps.

Samsung Exynos 2500

All of this is in line with our previous reports regarding the new Exynos 2400. Tipster @OreXda also shared additional information on X (formerly Twitter) regarding the 2025 Exynos. Apparently, Samsung plans on using a similar deca core configuration on the Exynos 2500 as well. Although, the next gen chip will feature a Cortex X5 Prime CPU core, along with two Cortex A730 performance cores, three Cortex A730 cores with slower clock speeds, and four Cortex A530 efficiency cores.

Samsung is reportedly planning to launch the Galaxy S24 series earlier than its usual launch time frame, according to a report from Seoul Economic Daily. The report claims that Samsung is planning to hold a Galaxy Unpacked launch event for the Galaxy S24 in San Francisco, USA, in January 2024.

This corroborates a tip from tipster Ice Universe, who previously revealed that the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra will be launched one month earlier than the Galaxy S23 series.

For reference, Samsung held its Unpacked event on February 1st and released the Galaxy S23 line on February 18, 2023. But according to Ice Universe, the Galaxy S24 series will likely be released around January 18th.

The earlier launch is reportedly a strategic move by Samsung to take on other Android handsets expected to be released at the end of this year powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

Speaking of which, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC worldwide, while the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ may be powered by the homegrown Exynos 2400 deca-core chipset in some regions.

In fact, the US version of the Galaxy S24 Ultra has just been spotted on Geekbench, confirming that the phone will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The listing also shows that the phone has a notable performance improvement compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

As for the specifications, all the devices in the S24 series will have a Dynamic AMOLED LTPO panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. But the top-tier model may also include a titanium frame this time around.

Likewise, all three devices in the S24 line are expected to have 2400 nits of brightness and Android 14-based One UI 6. The battery sizes will be different, of course, with the S24 rumored to have a 4000mAh cell, the S24+ with a 4900mAh cell, and the S24 Ultra with a 5000mAh cell.
