Apple Watch Ultra Gets Smart Widgets and Auto Night Mode with watchOS 10

The Apple Watch is a highly popular and innovative wearable device by Apple Inc. The Watch provides seamless integration with iPhones, allowing users to receive notifications, make calls, send messages, and access various apps directly from their wrists. It also offers health and fitness tracking features, such as heart rate monitoring, activity tracking, and even an electrocardiogram (ECG) feature. With its sleek design, intuitive interface, and vast array of features, the Apple Watch has become a must-have accessory for tech-savvy individuals seeking a convenient and connected lifestyle. In the latest update, Apple Watch Ultra features such as Night Mode get an upgrade.

Night Mode is only compatible with the Apple Watch Wayfinder watch face

One of the notable features coming to the Apple Watch is the introduction of widgets that can be controlled using the Digital Crown. These widgets will be organized into a Smart Stack, tailored to the user’s routine. Another noteworthy addition is Auto Night Mode, exclusive to the Apple Watch Ultra. By utilizing the ambient light sensor, the watch will automatically activate Night Mode when the light levels are low. This mode eliminates blue light, which can strain the eyes, and presents a red and black interface that is both visually clear and less irritating at night. Plus, it looks really cool on the OLED display of the Apple Watch Ultra. It’s worth mentioning that Night Mode is compatible only with the Wayfinder watch face, so users need to ensure it is selected for this feature to work, whether manually or automatically.

Apple Watch

The default setting for Auto Night Mode in watchOS 10 on the Apple Watch Ultra is yet to be confirmed, but it would be practical to have it enabled by default. This is due to the fact that controlling the new widgets in this build requires using the Digital Crown. Users can simplify their experience by activating Night Mode using the Wayfinder face, either by enabling it manually or adjusting the settings in watchOS 10.

Goodbye Food Waste: A Smartphone-Enabled Sensor That Can Detect Food Spoiled Before It’s Too Late

A team of researchers from Koç University in Turkey has developed a tiny sensor that can monitor the freshness of protein-rich foods like meat, chicken, and fish in real time and send the data to your smartphone. The device has the potential to revolutionize the way we monitor and manage food freshness. Here are the details…

Researchers from Koç University Develop a Revolutionary Sensor for Real-Time Food Freshness Monitoring

The world is addicted to buying things. We buy too much food, clothes, electronics, and all the other things that we don’t need. This is a problem because it wastes resources and contributes to climate change. For example, every year, one-third of all food produced globally is lost or wasted. That’s about 1.4 billion tons of food.

In addition to the economic and environmental costs, food waste also poses a health risk. When food spoils, it can produce harmful bacteria that can cause food poisoning. Food poisoning can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and other symptoms. In some cases, food poisoning can be fatal. It is not always easy to tell when food has spoiled. Some foods, such as meat and poultry, can look and smell fine even when they are contaminated with harmful bacteria.

Until now, it was difficult for ordinary people to detect the decay of food. However, a new sensor developed by researchers at Koç University makes it easy for anyone to do. The sensor is small and planned to be affordable, and it can be attached to any food container. When the sensor detects that food is starting to spoil, it sends a notification to your smartphone. This way, you can always know when food is no longer safe to eat.

The researchers tested their sensor in packaged chicken breasts and rib steak to demonstrate the real-world application of the device. The meat samples were stored in different conditions: in a freezer, in a refrigerator, and at room temperature. Over three days, the capacitance of the sensor monitoring the room-temperature samples went up, indicating that biogenic amines were being released from the meat as it spoiled. This, say the researchers, indicates that the sensor efficiently detected spoilage.

“We have tested the sensor using chicken and beef samples stored under various storage conditions to demonstrate a real-life application for the sensor,” the researchers said. “The sensor presented a reliable performance, such that the spoilage of foods was predicted during three-day measurement by instantaneous sensor readings using a mobile phone. On the third day, the room-temperature-stored samples showed a 700% change in sensor response compared with the samples stored in a freezer, which proves the sensor operation for the detection of spoilage.”

The new sensor is still in the early stages of development, but it has the potential to revolutionize the way we monitor and manage food freshness. If it is successful, it could help to reduce food waste and improve food safety worldwide.

India to Become World’s Largest Smartphone Market Soon, Apple to Help

India is one of the world’s largest economies, with a population of over 1.4 billion people. This makes it a very attractive market for companies looking to sale and manufacture products. Apple, aware of this situation, shifted some of its production from China to India a while ago. It seems that this move has proven beneficial for both parties as Apple propels smartphones into the top five of India’s exports. Here are the details…

Apple’s iPhone Propels Smartphones into Top Five of India Smartphone Exports

India’s smartphone exports have almost doubled in the last year, from $5.4 billion to $10.9 billion. This is a significant increase, and it is largely due to Apple. Apple accounted for about half of India’s smartphone exports in the 2022-2023 financial year, even though this only constitutes 7% of its entire iPhone production.

Apple executives in India Smartphone iPhone factory

In 2022, Apple started assembling iPhones in India at its Foxconn factory. This is a major step for Apple, and it is a sign of the company’s confidence in the Indian market. Apple plans to increase its manufacturing presence in India in the future, and this is likely to lead to even more growth in India’s smartphone exports.

India is now the world’s second-largest smartphone market, and it is expected to become the world’s largest smartphone market by 2025. However, the growth of India’s smartphone exports also presents some challenges for the Indian government. The government needs to ensure that the country has the necessary infrastructure to support the growth of the smartphone industry.

This includes things like reliable electricity, good roads, and a skilled workforce. The government also needs to make sure that the Indian market is open to competition, and that there are no barriers to entry for new players. However, the parties are the only way to work together to solve all these problems and meet the needs.

YouTube lowers monetization eligibility requirements for creators to make money

YouTube has recently announced a significant update to its monetization policies, making it easier for small creators to earn money from their content. The platform has lowered the eligibility requirements for its YouTube Partner Program (YPP) and introduced new monetization methods for creators with smaller followings.

YouTube Partner Program: Lower Eligibility Requirements for Monetization

Under the revised policy, creators will now be eligible to join the YPP once they reach 500 subscribers, which is half the previous requirement. Additionally, the threshold for valid watch hours has been reduced from 4,000 to 3,000, and the number of Shorts views required has been adjusted from 10 million to 3 million. These changes will initially be implemented in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Taiwan, and South Korea.

While the lower requirements allow smaller creators to monetize their channels, it’s important to note that revenue sharing through the YPP will still necessitate meeting the existing criteria. However, creators who achieve the higher requirements will not be required to reapply to the program. YouTube has been actively promoting its ad revenue-sharing program for Shorts, a move aimed at encouraging creators to produce short-form content.

YouTube’s decision to expand monetization opportunities follows a similar trend seen on platforms like TikTok. TikTok recently introduced its video paywall feature, Series, which was initially available to creators with over 10,000 followers. However, the company extended the eligibility to users with 1,000 followers who meet additional requirements. This feature enables creators to offer premium content that fans can access by paying a fee.

The introduction of monetization features like tipping, paywalls, and shopping affiliations provides small creators with additional avenues to generate income from their content. Such features have become commonplace across various creator platforms and rely on an engaged audience willing to support their favorite creators financially.

YouTube’s shopping affiliate program, previously accessible to select creators by invitation only, has also become available to YPP participants in the US with at least 20,000 subscribers, further expanding monetization opportunities for eligible creators.

By lowering the bar for monetization and introducing new features, YouTube aims to empower smaller creators to turn their passion into a sustainable income source. These changes reflect a broader industry trend toward increasing support for content creators across various social media platforms.

Recently, spy photos of BYD’s new luxury sedan, the “Yangwang,” were released online. The spy photos reveal that the Yangwang is equipped with LiDAR and other advanced technologies. Here are the details…

New Luxury BYD Yangwang Sedan to Shake Up the Luxury Car Market

A Chinese auto blogger on Weibo recently obtained a set of spy photos of a new sedan from BYD’s luxury brand, Yangwang. The car is fully camouflaged, but its size and stance suggest that it is likely to be a mid-to-large sedan. The car’s overall shape can be seen through the camouflage, and it appears to have a fastback-like design.

The front of the car is equipped with LiDAR, which suggests that it may be equipped with self-driving technology. The length and width of the car are also likely to be significant, given the size of the LiDAR system. The leakster also provided close-up photos of the wheel hub, which clearly shows the Yangwang brand logo. This is the first time that the Yangwang brand logo has been seen, and it suggests that the car is nearing production.

In terms of the interior, the cabin of the new car is also well concealed, but the overall layout of the cabin is quite similar to that of Yangwang U8. The new model also adopts a three-screen layout similar to the Yangwang U8, with the co-driver screen embedded in the central control panel. Unfortunately, it is currently unclear when the product will be available for sale. However, considering that tests are being conducted, it is possible to say that it may happen soon.

Why Apple’s iPhone 15 Could Be the Most Successful iPhone Ever, Despite Being the Most Expensive

Apple’s iPhone 15 series is coming soon! The company is expected to unveil its new devices in September, and they are sure to set new standards in the smartphone market. However, there is one downside: prices are likely to increase. The standard iPhone 15 is rumored to cost the same as last year’s iPhone 14 Pro. Despite the price hike, analysts believes that Apple is still on track for another monster sales cycle.

Apple’s iPhone sales have been slowing down, but one analyst believes that the iPhone 15 could be a big seller

If you’re thinking about buying a new iPhone, you might be wondering if you should wait for the iPhone 15 to come out. You’re not alone. Many people are in the same boat, and a lot of them are choosing to wait for the new model. This is having a big impact on sales of the iPhone 14 series. In fact, sales have declined even more this year than they did in previous years.

iPhone 15

Revenue for the iPhone was down 4% in the last six months compared to the same period in the previous year. Despite this, one analyst believes that the iPhone 15 could be a big seller, even if it is more expensive than the iPhone 14. Dan Ives, a respected Wall Street analyst, believes that there are around 250 million people who are still using iPhones that are at least four years old.

He thinks that these people, as well as the loyal iPhone users who upgrade every year, will be tempted to buy the new iPhone 15 when it comes out. Ives also believes that Apple will raise the price of the iPhone 15. He predicts that the average sale price will be around $925, which is $100 higher than the average sales price for new iPhones over the past 18 months.

If Ives is right, then the iPhone 15 could be a huge success for Apple. The company could sell millions of units and its stock price could soar. Of course, there are no guarantees. But the fact that a respected analyst like Ives is so bullish on the iPhone 15 is a good sign for Apple.

Now, it appears that the Watch 6 series will also be equipped with a new chipset, as the Exynos W930 has made an early appearance on the Bluetooth SIG website.

Earlier today, a report shared detailed images as well as the storage variants of the smartphone. And now a tipster is here with its pricing details for Europe.

As per tipster Roland Quant, the OnePlus Nord 3 will debut in Europe with a starting price tag of €449 for the base 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version. OnePlus Nord 3 Specifications (expected)

Although the OnePlus Nord 3 is reported to be a rebranded Ace 2V, it might not feature the exact same specifications as its Chinese counterpart. For one, the Nord 3 is rumored to get a 16MP front camera and a triple camera unit consisting of a 50MP main camera (with OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro shooter. But the Ace 2V gets a 64MP primary camera with OIS. There may be other differences.

The Nord 3 will likely flaunt a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it will be powered by the Dimensity 9000 chipset paired with up to 16 GB of RAM. It could pack 128 GB / 256 GB of storage and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging support. You may see an under-display fingerprint scanner for security.
