Lenovo is getting serious about smartphones and considering expanding its ThinkPad branding to smartphones with the introduction of the Lenovo ThinkPhone. According to leaked information from Evan Blass, the ThinkPhone is rumored to contain high-end hardware and may be the sibling of a Motorola Edge 40 series model.
Lenovo ThinkPhone: A new high-end smartphone rumored to be launching in 2023
The ThinkPhone has been revealed in a pre-release marketing render, which shows a smartphone with three rear-facing cameras set within a curved back panel. The device also has a flat display with a centered punch-hole front-facing camera and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The appearance of the latter suggests that the ThinkPhone has an AMOLED or OLED display, rather than an IPS one. The display is rumored to have a 1080p resolution and will be joined by up to 12 GB of RAM, as well as a 50 MP primary, 13 MP ultra-wide-angle, 2 MP depth, and 16 MP front-facing camera setup.
It is worth noting that while Evan Blass claims that the ThinkPhone is “almost certainly” a member of the Edge series, there is a chance that it and its Motorola equivalent could arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, rather than the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 as previously suggested.
Currently, Lenovo is expected to unveil the ThinkPhone in 2023. It remains to be seen in which markets the device will be available, though it is likely to be offered in a range of countries given Lenovo’s global presence.
Overall, the Lenovo ThinkPhone looks like it will be a formidable smartphone with high-end hardware and a range of impressive camera and display features. If it does indeed launch under the ThinkPad branding, it will be interesting to see how the device is received by consumers and whether it can compete with other smartphones in the market. We will have to wait until 2023 to find out more about the ThinkPhone and its availability.

Clamshell foldable phones became even more popular than horizontal ones among average users. Having the possibility to fold a normal phone in half without renouncing it to a wide display is a great thing for a lot of people. And that is also the reason why OPPO just launched its first flip foldable phone: the OPPO Find N2 Flip. Besides being the first flip phone from the brand, it will also be the first OPPO foldable phone to hit the global market: it will launch globally at the beginning of 2023. Once in the global market, this device will have one single and important rival: the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4. Which of these devices is the best? You will discover it after reading this comparison between the main specifications of the OPPO Find N2 Flip and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4.
OPPO Find N2 Flip vs Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4
OPPO Find N2 Flip
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4
THICKNESS
16 mm when folded, 7.5 mm when unfolded
15.9 mm when folded, 6.9 mm when unfolded
DISPLAY
Main display: 6.8 inches, 1080 x 2520p (Full HD+), Foldable AMOLED
External display: 3.26 inches (382 x 720p), AMOLED
6.07 inches, 1080 x 2460p (Full HD+), Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X
External display: 1.9 inches, AMOLED, 260 x 512 pixels
The designs and the form factor of these two phones are simply amazing. They are built with premium materials, including glass for the back and aluminum for the frame. When unfolded, they look like normal phones with a secondary display on the rear side, but if you fold them, you can notice that they can actually fold in half and become extremely compact. That is the reason why they are the best phones for one-handed use and the best to keep in a pocket. Between the two designs, I personally prefer the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 because it is thinner and it comes in a special Bespoke color option which I define as very original. Further, it is the only waterproof foldable phone of the duo, with the IPX8 certification. Last but not least, it has a toughened aluminum frame with drop and scratch resistance.
Display
If we talk about the internal foldable displays, these two phones are very close to each other. The OPPO Find N2 Flip comes with an internal AMOLED panel with a diagonal of 6.8 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ certification. With the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4, you actually get a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a similar Full HD+ resolution and the same 120 Hz refresh rate, as well as the same HDR10+ certification. The OPPO phone has a higher peak brightness as it is able to reach 1,600 nits instead of just 1,200 nits. But the most important advantage of the OPPO Find N2 Flip is the presence of a wider and vertical external display, with a diagonal of 3.26 inches (instead of just 1.9 inches) and a resolution of 382 x 720 pixels. It allows you to see more notifications and use the rear camera as a selfie camera in a better way.
Specs & Software
The hardware department you can get with the OPPO Find N2 Flip is superior to the one found on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4. It is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 9000+ processor built with a 4 nm production process and sporting an octa-core architecture composed of a Cortex X2 CPU running at 3.2 GHz, three Cortex A710 CPUs running at 3.2 GHz, and four Cortex A510 CPUs running at 1.8 GHz, as well as a Mali G710 MC10 GPU. Alongside the chipset, there are up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 native storage. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 gets the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset running at 3.19 GHz, but it is paired with just 8 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. So, the RAM makes the difference. Further, note that the OPPO Find N2 Flip ships with Android 13, while the Samsung ships with Android 12.
Camera
The camera hardware of the OPPO Find N2 Flip looks more convincing: the main sensor is a better Sony IMX890 with a 50 MP resolution, but it lacks OIS, while the Samsung has an old 12 MP camera, but it has OIS.
The OPPO Find N2 Flip wins the battery comparison thanks to a bigger 4300 mAh battery. It also charges faster, thanks to 44W fast charging, but, unlike the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4, it lacks wireless charging.
Price
The OPPO Find N2 Flip starts from $850/€800 in China and it is yet to hit the global market, and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 starts from the same price. The OPPO Find N2 Flip wins the comparison.
Korean tech giant LG Electronics has showcased a new air conditioner with a design quite different from traditional air conditioners. The new product, dubbed LG ARTCOOL Gallery Air-conditioner, integrates a display monitor into the design. The Artcool Gallery AC is set to be unveiled at CES 2023.
The LG ARTCOOL Gallery Air-conditioner is equipped with a huge 27-inch LCD display that can be used to display artwork. The display has requisite borders on all sides and can give the impression that it is a piece of art installed inside a frame instead of an air-conditioner.
The gadget also supports LG ThinQ applications and can be cooled or heated through LG’s DUAL Inverter Compressor technology and 3-way indirect airflow. Through LG ThinQ, users can let the air conditioner display any picture or video content they like so that this air conditioner can become a part of their home decoration.
Additionally, the air conditioner will be able to operate at a noise level of 20 decibels and close its “hidden” bottom blades in sleep mode so as not to disturb or disrupt the user’s rest.
As stated earlier, the ARTCOOL Gallery Air-conditioner will be publicly displayed at CES 2023 in January next year. We don’t know when the product will go on sale but it promises to be a hot one when it does. The price is also not known as at this moment. We expect the ARTCOOL to adopt a hefty price tag but LG might just throw us a surprise by making it affordable.

The leak of the Google Pixel Tablet shows what looks like its default app setup. It shows the tablet-optimized Pixel Launcher home screen, with the search bar sitting atop default apps. These apps include Gmail, YouTube, Chrome, and Photos. The last two slots are suggestions.
The default app setup also features on the next row, the camera, Maps, and the Play Store. A view of the dual-pane Settings app for larger screens was also indicated. The current unit shown on Facebook Marketplace is a 256GB model. It has an estimated battery life of about 16 hours at 70%. The rear view of the Pixel Tablet was also leaked and it showed USB-C and speaker grills at the connection to the charging speaker dock.
The Pixel Tablet’s charging speaker dock was also shown in the latest leak. It bears a strong resemblance to the base of the Nest Hub Max. It comes with a rectangular power adapter and could deliver 30W power like its sibling. A barrel connector is also featured in the charging speaker dock. The screen bezels are black and the body could likely be dark, although the photos lack clarity.
Google announced in October 2022 that the Pixel Tablet will come in various shades of the nano-ceramic coating used in the tablet’s rear covering. There are still lots of additional features expected for the Pixel Tablet. It could debut with new designs for Google Assistant and Discover. It will also likely feature Android 13 QPR2 preps desktop mode, new back gesture, and more. The Facebook Marketplace listing could well indicate an imminent release although Google remains mum at this time.
