OnePlus Nord Buds 4 teaser reveals design

In a recent social media post, OnePlus gave us the first proper look at the Nord Buds 4. They’ve gone with an in-ear design using soft silicone tips for a snug, comfortable fit, along with the classic stem-style body that supports touch controls. The charging case has a clean rectangular shape, a nice change from the oval design on the Nord Buds 3. They’ve also highlighted a cool teal color option, which gives it a fresh and modern vibe. The teaser confirms it’ll be available on Amazon India when it launches.

The Nord Buds 4 is clearly meant to be the more affordable sibling to the Pro model. For reference, the Nord Buds 4 Pro launched in India earlier this year for ₹3,999. That one impressed a lot of people with strong features like up to 55dB ANC, 12mm titanium-coated drivers, LHDC 5.0 Hi-Res audio, Bluetooth 6.0, dual-device connectivity, and up to 54 hours of total playback. It also had good AI call noise reduction and some extra perks like spatial audio.

To keep the price lower (rumored to be around ₹2,999), the regular Nord Buds 4 will probably skip some of those premium bits. We’re likely looking at lighter ANC, standard audio codecs instead of high-res ones, and maybe smaller drivers or slightly shorter battery life. Even with those compromises, you can still expect the signature Nord bass-heavy sound, reliable call quality, and comfortable wear that the series is known for.

OnePlus has done a great job building trust in the budget TWS space. The Nord Buds 3 series from 2024 was popular for offering good battery life and decent IP ratings at competitive prices. The Nord Buds 4 seems to continue that smart approach while updating the design for better ergonomics and a more contemporary look. With the new rectangular case and in-ear fit, it feels aimed at people who want something practical for daily commutes, workouts, or just casual listening.

For budget buyers in India’s crowded audio market, the Nord Buds 4 looks like it could be a smart pick that delivers the essentials without emptying your pocket.

From benchmark scores, it’s clear that the Dimensity 8350 delivers higher peak performance than the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, but the latter excels in maintaining a stable performance over a longer period. But that alone doesn’t reflect a chipset’s full capabilities.

Performance

The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 and Dimensity 8350 feature the same ‘1+3+4’ core configuration, but the Snapdragon chip has upgraded CPU cores. That should naturally mean better performance on 7s Gen 4, but the higher clock speeds on the Dimensity chip make a bigger impact here.

The Snapdragon chip is equipped with an Adreno 810 GPU, paired with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gaming features, such as Adaptive Performance Engine 3.0 and Snapdragon Game Super Resolution, to deliver an enhanced gaming experience. In contrast, Dimensity 8350 features a more powerful 6-core Mali-G615 GPU, with MediaTek HyperEngine Adaptive Gaming Technology. The Mali-G615 also supports ray tracing, which mimics how light and shadows behave in the real world.

For on-device AI processing, the Snapdragon chip features a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, while the Dimensity chip relies on the MediaTek NPU 780. Both NPUs support on-device generative AI. The NPU also helps improve camera output and connectivity.

The Dimensity 8350 achieves a much higher peak speed on a sub-6 GHz connection (5.17 Gbps vs 2.9 Gbps). However, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 offers greater global spectrum flexibility by supporting high-frequency mmWave bands.

The Snapdragon chip also supports premium DSDA (Dual SIM Dual Active), while the Dimensity chip relies on a standard dual-standby architecture. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 also holds a slight edge in proprietary wireless audio standards via its aptX Lossless codec integration, and it offers Triple-Frequency GNSS tracking for more accurate positioning data in dense urban areas, compared to MediaTek’s dual-frequency array.

For those not seeking peak performance, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 is a much better choice. It delivers exceptional thermal stability over long gaming sessions, more flexible global connectivity (mmWave), and premium audio features.

To sum it up, you should choose the Dimensity 8350 for raw, explosive speed, or the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 for a balanced, highly efficient daily driver.

Smartphone prices have been going up for a while now, and the next generation of flagships may continue that trend. 

As you may know, rising costs of components like DRAM and NAND storage are forcing brands to raise prices across mid-range and flagship segments. Now, Weibo tipster DCS has shared what the next flagship lineup could cost in China for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.

The leaked pricing breakdown is as follows:

  • Next-gen Standard (3nm): ¥4,999 (~$738)
  • Next-gen Standard (2nm): ¥5,499 (~$812)
  • Next-gen Pro: ¥5,999 (~$886)
  • Next-gen Pro Max: ¥6,999 (~$1,034)
  • Next-gen Ultra: ¥8,999 (~$1,329)

Here’s the basis of the claim

DCS bases these estimates on how prices have moved between past models. The Find X8s was priced at ¥4,199, the Find X9 at ¥4,399. The X200s came in at ¥4,199, and the X300 at ¥4,399. 

That is, in general, a major iteration costs ¥100–¥300 more than the semi-iterative model before it. The X300s, a semi-iterative release, launched at ¥4,999 this year. As a result, DCS claims an iterative model will launch at ¥4,999 at the low end, possibly more.

There are real cost pressures behind these numbers. Qualcomm is reportedly paying around 24% higher rates to TSMC for newer chips, which is one of the factors contributing to higher flagship prices. 

Moreover, LPDDR5X DRAM costs are already up 5%, with further increases expected. Manufacturers are also shifting production toward high-bandwidth memory used in AI infrastructure, which reduces the supply available for smartphones and adds to the cost pressure.

As we previously covered, brands like OnePlus, Nothing, and Xiaomi have already raised prices in India by ₹1,000 to ₹5,000 for the same reasons. 

These are still estimates from a tipster, not confirmed figures. But the pricing history and supply chain context give them some basis.

Insta360 Luna Ultra vs DJI Osmo Pocket 4: The Pocket Camera Battle of 2026

DJI has been ruling the pocket camera market with almost no real competition. Its Osmo Pocket series has become the go-to tool for vloggers, travelers, and content creators who want smooth, high-quality video in a compact package.

Now, Insta360 wants a share of that market, and its latest attempt at it is the new Insta360 Luna Ultra. Announced recently, the camera directly targets Osmo Pocket users. Here’s everything you need to know about how these two cameras stack up.

What Are These Cameras?

Before diving into the details, let’s quickly explain what each camera is.

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is DJI’s latest compact gimbal camera. It sits on a small handheld stick with a motorized gimbal that keeps footage smooth and stable, even while you are walking or moving. It has a built-in touchscreen and is designed for people who want to shoot great video without carrying heavy gear.

The Insta360 Luna Ultra is Insta360’s answer to that, and then some. It is the company’s first dedicated gimbal camera made in partnership with the famous camera brand Leica. Insta360 says this camera is not just another pocket camera. It is a step up in almost every way, designed for creators who want more power, more flexibility, and better image quality.

1. Design and Build

Both cameras follow a similar design. They have a small body with a gimbal camera on top. But the Luna Ultra adds some clever tricks.

The Luna Ultra features a detachable 2-inch OLED touchscreen. What makes this special is that you can remove the screen and use it as a remote control from up to 20 metres away. This is a huge deal for solo creators who film themselves. Instead of walking back to check your framing every few minutes, you can just glance at the remote in your hand. 

The Osmo Pocket 4 also has a 2-inch OLED screen, but it stays fixed to the camera body. It can flip between horizontal and vertical orientations, which is handy for quickly switching between landscape and portrait video.

Both cameras are compact and lightweight enough to slip into a pocket or bag. The Luna Ultra weighs just over 200 grams. Neither camera is bulky, which is the whole point of this category.

2. Camera Specs and Video Quality

The Luna Ultra is built around a 1-inch sensor that can shoot 8K video at 30 frames per second. It has two lenses: a wide-angle lens with an f/1.8 aperture (which means it performs well in low light) and a dedicated telephoto lens with up to 12x zoom, including 6x lossless zoom. 

It also supports Dolby Vision recording, 10-bit video capture, and up to 14 stops of dynamic range, meaning it captures a lot of detail in both bright and dark areas of a scene.

The Leica partnership also means the Luna Ultra benefits from Leica’s color science, which is known for producing natural, accurate, and beautiful colors.

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is also a capable camera, built on DJI’s years of experience in this space. It is a strong performer with its own stabilization and image processing technology. However, the standard Osmo Pocket 4 uses a single camera lens, while the Luna Ultra comes with a dual-lens system as standard. 

It is worth noting that DJI is expected to release a Pocket 4 Pro with a dual-lens system in the coming weeks, which would make the comparison more direct. But right now, the Luna Ultra already has the dual-camera advantage.

3. AI and Tracking Features

The Luna Ultra uses Deep Track 5.0, Insta360’s subject-tracking technology. This lets the camera automatically follow a person or object as they move through the frame. It also supports features like Active Zoom Tracking and Smart Framing, which adjusts the composition of your shot automatically.

The Osmo Pocket 4 uses DJI’s ActiveTrack system, which is also well-regarded and has been refined through several generations of DJI products. Both systems work in a similar way. You point the camera at your subject, tap to lock on, and the camera will keep them in frame as they move.

Moreover, the Luna Ultra has built-in wireless microphone integration, which means it is designed from the ground up to work seamlessly with wireless mics. 

4. Storage and Battery

The Luna Ultra comes with 47GB of internal storage and supports microSD cards up to 1TB. Insta360 claims the battery can last up to four hours. 

The Pocket 4 has 107GB of actual useable storage, while also supporting a 1TB microSD card. The battery can last about four hours, like Luna Ultra. 

5. Availability

The Luna Ultra is available right now, priced at $769 in the US, and comes in white or black.

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4, on the other hand, is not officially on sale in the US. In December 2025, the FCC (the US body that regulates electronics) blocked DJI from receiving equipment authorization. This means DJI cannot officially sell new products in the United States. US consumers who want a Pocket 4 would need to buy it through unofficial channels, which means no full warranty or ecosystem support.

This is a massive opening for Insta360. With DJI effectively blocked in the US, the Luna Ultra steps into a market with very little competition at this price point.

Outside the US, the Pocket 4 launched at around £445 in the UK, and DJI still has a strong presence in many global markets. But for US-based creators, the Luna Ultra is clearly the more practical and sensible choice right now.

Upcoming Vivo phone with Dimensity 9500 appears on Geekbench

A mysterious Vivo smartphone has surfaced on Geekbench today. The device appears to be powered by MediaTek’s most powerful chipset. However, it remains unclear whether the handset will launch under the Vivo or iQOO brand. Here’s a look at the details revealed through the Geekbench listing.

The screenshots above show that an upcoming Vivo smartphone bearing the model number V2545A has appeared in Geekbench’s database. The same device was previously spotted on China’s 3C certification platform in April this year with support for a 100W charger.

The Geekbench listing of the V2545A reveals that it is powered by the Dimensity 9500 chipset. While the chip’s name is not directly mentioned, its CPU configuration, GPU details (via metadata), and MT6693 model number strongly suggest that the device is equipped with the Dimensity 9500 SoC.

At present, there is no indication whether the device will launch as a Vivo or iQOO smartphone. Recently, Vivo confirmed that the upcoming Vivo X Fold 6 will feature the Dimensity 9500 chipset. At the same time, its sub-brand is reportedly working on the iQOO Neo 11S, which is expected to be a minor upgrade over last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered iQOO Neo 11.

Considering that the V2545A supports 100W fast charging, it appears more likely to be an iQOO-branded device. However, it is advisable to wait for further reports before drawing conclusions about its final marketing name.

Global Oppo Reno 16 Pro spotted with Dimensity 8-series chip on Geekbench

Last month, Oppo unveiled the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro in China, powered by the Dimensity 8550 Super and Dimensity 9500s chipsets, respectively. A recent Geekbench listing revealed that the global version of the Reno 16 will feature the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. Now, in a new development, the global edition of the Reno 16 Pro has also surfaced on the same benchmarking platform. The listing reveals that the device is powered by a Dimensity chip, but not the same one found in its Chinese counterpart.

The listing reveals that an upcoming Oppo smartphone bearing the model number CPH2863 has appeared on Geekbench. Previous certification listings have confirmed that this model number belongs to the global version of the Reno 16 Pro.

The Geekbench listing reveals that the device is powered by the MediaTek MT6899 chip. Its CPU configuration and GPU details (via metadata) suggest that it is powered by the Dimensity 8500 chipset. To put this into context, the Chinese edition of the Reno 16 features the Dimensity 8550 Super chip.

The Dimensity 8550 Super and Dimensity 8550 share the same CPU and GPU specifications, but the 8550 Super mainly offers AI-related enhancements. Therefore, there is a possibility that the Reno 16 Pro’s chipset could actually be the Dimensity 8550.

Coming back to the Geekbench listing, the Reno 16 Pro is equipped with 12GB of RAM and runs Android 16. In Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests, the device achieved scores of 1,575 and 5,889 points, respectively.

While other details about the global version of the Reno 16 Pro remain under wraps, the device was previously spotted with support for 80W fast charging through a TÜV certification listing in March.

Apart from the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro, the global lineup is also expected to include a third model called the Reno 16F. Rumors suggest that this device could be powered by the Dimensity 7300 chipset.

Reports indicate that the Reno 16 series may debut in multiple global markets by early July. As a result, Oppo is expected to begin teasing the lineup within the next few days.

Samsung delivers One UI 8.5 update to all confirmed Devices, but the rollout isn’t over yet

After five months of running the One UI 8.5 beta program, Samsung finally began rolling out the stable version in May, starting with the Galaxy S25 series. The rollout initially covered premium Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series smartphones, but, as always, Samsung wasted no time bringing the update to more affordable phones.

The company confirmed that the update would be released for a total of 44 devices via posts on Samsung Newsroom. In a little over a month, Samsung has released the update for all of those confirmed devices.

While the One UI 8.5 update continues to roll out to more devices, Samsung has already begun preparations for One UI 9.0, which is based on Android 17. The beta program is already live for the Galaxy S26 series, with more devices expected to join soon, while the stable release is expected in July 2026.

TECNO POVA 8 5G Launches With Massive 8,000mAh Battery and Alive Matrix Display

TECNO has officially introduced the new POVA 8 5G, bringing a strong focus on battery life, design, gaming performance, and AI-powered tools. The smartphone made its global debut on June 11, 2026, with India becoming the first market to receive the device. Availability in other regions will be announced in the coming months.

Interstellar-Inspired Design With Alive Matrix Display

The TECNO POVA 8 5G continues the brand’s futuristic design language with an Interstellar Spaceship-inspired look. The phone features a geometric rear camera module and a semi-transparent back panel that gives it a modern appearance.

One of the biggest highlights is the new Alive Matrix Display on the rear panel. This customizable LED lighting system can react to incoming calls, notifications, music playback, gaming events, charging status, and other alerts. TECNO says users can choose from 49 preset lighting effects or create their own custom animations.

Massive 8,000mAh Battery Promises Two-Day Usage

Battery life is a major focus of the POVA 8 5G. The device packs a large 8,000mAh battery that is TÜV SÜD certified for up to two days of regular use. TECNO claims the phone can deliver more than 60 hours of calling, 85 hours of music playback, 29 hours of YouTube streaming, and over 14 hours of gaming on a single charge.

The company also says the battery is designed for long-term durability, retaining over 80% of its health after 2,000 charge cycles and offering up to six years of reliable use.

50MP Sony Camera System

For photography, the TECNO POVA 8 5G features a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main camera that is co-engineered with Sony for improved light capture and image quality. The camera also supports 2x lossless zoom, allowing users to get closer to subjects without a noticeable drop in detail. On the front, the device includes a 13MP selfie camera for video calls and social media content. TECNO further enhances the camera experience with AI LightMaster 2.0, which can reduce lens flares, reflections, and unwanted shadows in photos.

Dimensity 7100 Power and AI Features

Powering the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G chipset. TECNO has paired it with its G1 Signal Enhancement Chip and SE1 Wi-Fi Enhancement Chip to improve connectivity in weak-signal environments. Two of China’s biggest camera brands are now taking each other to court in the US. DJI filed not one but two lawsuits against Insta360 just days ago, on or around June 10, 2026. The target is Insta360’s newly launched Luna series of gimbal cameras, which DJI claims bear a little too much resemblance, both visually and technically, to their Osmo Pocket line. Both suits were filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

What exactly is DJI accusing them of?

The first lawsuit is about design patents. DJI is arguing that the Luna cameras look too similar to the Osmo Pocket 3: the slim handheld body, the distinctive neck connecting it to the gimbal arm, the rotating screen, the side ports, the bottom interface. Close enough, DJI says, to genuinely confuse buyers.

The second lawsuit goes deeper, targeting four utility patents covering the actual technology inside the cameras: things like how the gimbal switches between “lock mode” and “follow mode,” the subject tracking system, and how the display integrates with the gimbal in real time. DJI goes as far as saying Insta360 “blatantly copied” these inventions with full knowledge of the patents, which opens the door to enhanced damages for willful infringement.

As remedies, DJI is seeking a permanent ban on Luna product sales in the U.S., along with damages — at minimum a reasonable royalty, and potentially a full disgorgement of profits.

This is also not happening out of nowhere. Earlier in 2026, DJI was already pursuing patent ownership claims in China, tied to inventions allegedly developed by former DJI engineers who later joined Insta360. The tension between these two companies has been building for a while, and this US lawsuit is more of an escalation than a surprise.

Nothing Ear (3a) colors and price leak before official launch

Nothing has not officially announced the Ear (3a) yet, but some early details are already coming to light.

Last year, Nothing introduced the Ear (3) as its flagship pair of wireless earbuds. Now, the London-based company appears to be working on a more budget-friendly version, the Nothing Ear (3a).

This isn’t entirely surprising. Nothing did something similar back in 2024 when it launched the Ear (a) as a cheaper alternative alongside the Ear (3), skipping what many expected to be an “Ear (2a).”

So far, the only confirmed trace of the product comes from an Indonesian regulatory database. The earbuds were listed under model number B190 alongside the CMF Buds Neo. However, the filing does not reveal any specifications, pricing, or a launch window.

According to a report by Dealabs, the Ear (3a) is expected to launch in four colors: white, black, yellow, and pink. Three of these are the same as the Ear (a). Pink is the only new addition.

Price may hold steady at €99 in France

The same source suggests a launch price of €99 in France. That’s the same price the Ear (a) launched at in 2024. The Ear (a) has since dropped to €89, so the Ear (3a) would come in slightly above it at launch.

No technical details or release date have been confirmed. It remains to be seen whether the Ear (3a) will include features missing from the Ear (a), such as wireless charging or improved noise cancellation, both of which are available on Nothing’s higher-end models.

Xiaomi AI and LLMs: Every Model, Every Feature, Everything You Need to Know

Xiaomi has always been known for affordable smartphones and smart home gadgets. But over the last year and a half, the company has quietly turned itself into one of the most ambitious AI players in the world. 

From large language models and voice cloning to an autonomous phone agent and a massive investment war chest, Xiaomi is moving fast. Here is everything you need to know about where Xiaomi is in the big AI and LLM race. 

Xiaomi MiMo 7 billion parameter LLM

Where did Xiaomi enter the LLM race

Xiaomi’s AI story really kicked off in April 2025, when the company released MiMo-7B, its first open-source large language model. For those unaware, the name “MiMo” stands for Xiaomi Model (Mi and Mo). The good thing from the start is that Xiaomi is focusing on reasoning and coding, rather than just chatting.

Despite having only 7 billion parameters, Xiaomi claimed MiMo-7B punched well above its weight. On math benchmarks like MATH-500, the reinforcement-learning version of the model reportedly scored 95.8%. Surprisingly, it also outperformed OpenAI’s o1-mini and Alibaba’s Qwen-32B-Preview on the AIME 2024 and 2025 math competitions. 

The model was trained on a specially curated dataset of 200 billion reasoning tokens, with a total of 25 trillion tokens across three training phases. Xiaomi released it under an open-source MIT license, and it is available on Hugging Face.

The development team was led by Luo Fuli, who came to Xiaomi from DeepSeek. 

1. MiMo-V2-Flash

By December 2025, Xiaomi announced MiMo-V2-Flash, a 309-billion-parameter model that kept most of its weight “inactive.” That is, you could only use about 15 billion parameters at any given time, thanks to a Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) design.

What made it stand out was the combination of performance and speed. It ranked in the top two among open-source models on reasoning benchmarks, matched GPT-5 and Claude 4.5 Sonnet on software engineering tests (SWE-Bench Verified), and could generate responses at 150 tokens per second while reportedly costing just 2.5% of Claude’s inference price. Xiaomi priced API access at $0.1 per million input tokens and offered free access for a limited time at launch.

MiMo-V2-Flash also introduced the Multi-Token Prediction (MTP) technique that lets the model generate and verify multiple tokens at once.

2. MiMo-V2-Pro: The Trillion-Parameter Flagship

March 2026 brought Xiaomi’s most ambitious model yet. MiMo-V2-Pro has over one trillion total parameters with 42 billion active parameters per pass. It supports a context window of one million tokens, meaning it can process the equivalent of several long novels in a single conversation. Xiaomi says the model is specifically built for “agentic” tasks: complex, multi-step jobs that require planning and execution without constant human input.

The model actually first appeared on OpenRouter, the AI gateway platform, uploaded anonymously under the name “Hunter Alpha.” It quickly shot to the top of the leaderboard, processing over 1.5 trillion tokens before Xiaomi officially took credit. That kind of organic developer attention was a signal the model was genuinely competitive.

Alongside MiMo-V2-Pro, Xiaomi also dropped two companion models: MiMo-V2-Omni (a multimodal version that can process text, images, audio, and video) and MiMo-V2-TTS (a text-to-speech model for the agent pipeline).

3. MiMo-V2.5 and V2.5-Pro

In late April 2026, Xiaomi merged the best of its V2 family into a single architecture. MiMo-V2.5-Pro is a 1.02 trillion-parameter model that handles text, image, audio, and video all in one. It runs at 60 to 80 tokens per second for complex tasks, while the lighter MiMo-V2.5 (for everyday use) hits 100 to 150 tokens per second.

V2.5-Pro also ranked as the world’s top open-source model for agentic capabilities on the Artificial Analysis benchmark at the time of launch.

Xiaomi also removed additional charges for using the full 1 million-token context window and reset user credits at launch, making it more developer-friendly.

And just recently, in early June 2026, Xiaomi launched MiMo Code, a terminal-based AI coding agent based on MiMo-V2.5. Unlike most coding assistants that forget context once the window fills up, MiMo Code features a persistent memory system that keeps track of decisions across long projects.

4. MiMo-VL

On the visual side, Xiaomi released MiMo-VL (Vision-Language) and its home-focused variant, MiMo-VL-Miloco-7B. The Miloco model is designed to understand home environments. 

It can recognize everyday gestures like thumbs-up, OK, peace signs, and open palms, and it can identify common household activities like watching TV, working out, or reading. It is built on a mix of supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning, keeping the model “home-smart” without losing general capability.

5. MiDashengLM-7B

Released in August 2025, MiDashengLM-7B is Xiaomi’s audio AI model. Unlike most voice AI systems that are trained primarily on speech recognition (which discards a lot of non-verbal audio information), this model uses a “general audio caption” approach. It was trained on a massive 38,662-hour dataset and can understand not just words, but music, environmental sounds, speaker emotion, and acoustic context.

It is built on Qwen2.5-Omni-7B from Alibaba and is embedded in Xiaomi’s electric vehicles and smart home appliances. Xiaomi released it under an Apache 2.0 license, making it available for commercial use.

6. MiMo-Audio: Hearing at Scale

Alongside its vision and language work, Xiaomi also published MiMo-Audio, a separate audio language model. The audio encoder from MiMo-Audio was later integrated into MiMo-V2.5 to power the omnimodal experience.

7. OmniVoice: Cloning Any Voice in Any Language

One of Xiaomi’s most impressive recent releases is OmniVoice, a text-to-speech model from Xiaomi’s AI Lab’s next-gen Kaldi team, open-sourced in May 2026.

OmniVoice supports 646 languages, including many low-resource languages that have very little available training data. It is a zero-shot voice cloning model, meaning it can clone a voice from just a few seconds of reference audio and generate natural-sounding speech across languages while preserving the original voice characteristics.

What sets OmniVoice apart technically is its simplified single-transformer architecture that maps text directly to acoustic tokens. This lets it complete training on 100,000 hours of audio data in a single day and run inference at up to 40x real-time speed using PyTorch.

Xiaomi says OmniVoice is the first voice cloning TTS model to cover hundreds of languages. It also has practical tools for correcting tricky pronunciations, like polyphonic Chinese characters or uncommon English proper nouns. Everything is available under the Apache-2.0 license.

8. MiMo-V2.5-TTS and ASR: A Full Voice Pipeline

Alongside the broader V2.5 launch, Xiaomi also released MiMo-V2.5-TTS and an ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) system.

The TTS model supports voice cloning, and the ASR handles bilingual recognition. Together, they let developers build end-to-end voice-driven products without having to stitch together tools from different providers.

9. Xiao AI and HyperAI: The Consumer-Facing Side

On the consumer side, Xiaomi has two main AI experiences for regular users.

Xiao AI (小爱) is Xiaomi’s long-running voice assistant, available on smartphones, smart speakers, and wearables. With HyperOS 2, it was upgraded to become “Super Xiao AI,” with better context memory, smarter home device control, and the ability to generate images from text. It is deeply integrated into HyperOS’s three-pillar system: HyperCore for performance, HyperConnect for device syncing, and HyperAI for smart features.

HyperAI, introduced globally at MWC 2025 and rolled out to phones starting with the Xiaomi 15 series, is a suite of AI features baked into HyperOS 2. It includes real-time translation, AI writing assistance, smart speech recognition that summarizes recordings, and AI photo editing. For global devices, Xiaomi also integrated Google Gemini as a backend. HyperAI has since expanded to mid-range devices, including the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G and Poco series.

10. miclaw: The AI Agent That Does Things For You

The most forward-looking piece of Xiaomi’s AI puzzle is miclaw. Announced in March 2026 and currently in closed beta, miclaw is not a chatbot. It is an autonomous AI agent built on MiMo.

Rather than just answering questions, miclaw interprets what you want and then actually does it. It can open apps, navigate interfaces, fill in forms, interact with system tools, and complete multi-step tasks across your phone, all without you needing to supervise every step. This works through what Xiaomi calls an “inference-execution loop”: the AI figures out what to do, does it, checks the results, and continues until the task is complete.

miclaw also has contextual memory that compresses old interactions while keeping the original intent of a task in mind. It can connect to Xiaomi’s broader smart home and car ecosystem as well.

On privacy, Xiaomi says user interactions with miclaw are not used to train AI models. Personal data is processed in real time only to execute commands, and sensitive information is handled locally on the device through what Xiaomi describes as “edge-cloud privacy computing.”

The current closed beta supports the Xiaomi 17 series. According to Xiaomi, HyperOS 4 will fully integrate miclaw at the system level.

miclaw has also been tested as a smartwatch assistant, running through the Xiaomi Health app. Users press and hold a button to speak, and the response is processed on the connected phone and displayed on the watch.

11. The Money Behind It All

In March 2026, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced the company would invest at least $8.7 billion in AI over the next three years. That is on top of the company’s already-rising R&D budgets. As a result, Xiaomi’s annual R&D spend is projected to hit around 40 billion yuan ($5.7 billion) in 2026.

The payoff is becoming visible. By early April 2026, Xiaomi’s models had captured around 21% of all traffic on OpenRouter, the AI routing platform. Lei Jun has also said the company is aiming for a “grand convergence” in 2026, bringing its own chip, its own OS, and its own AI model together in a single device.

12. What This All Means

Twelve months ago, Xiaomi had no public AI models. Today, it has a full stack: reasoning models, vision-language models, audio models, a voice cloning system, a TTS/ASR pipeline, an AI agent, and consumer AI features reaching millions of devices. 

The pace at which Xiaomi is developing and releasing these models are striking, to say the least. And the fact that most of them are open-source helps Xiaomi build real developer momentum fast.

The big test ahead is whether miclaw and HyperOS 4 can make all this AI actually useful in people’s daily lives. If they can, Xiaomi will not just be a phone company that does AI on the side. It will be a genuine AI platform.
