OPPO is gearing up to launch its next-generation F-series smartphones in the Indian market on 12th April. The brand will be launching two phones in the lineup — OPPO F21 Pro and OPPO F21 Pro 5G.

Ahead of the launch of these new smartphones in India, several details about the devices have been leaked online. Here’s a roundup of all the details available so far about the upcoming OPPO F21 Pro series smartphones.

OPPO F21 Pro

DISPLAY AND HARDWARE

This smartphone is a 4G only variant and is said to be a rebranded version of the Reno7 4G available in some markets. It features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display, offering a Full HD+ screen resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor which is an octa-core processor manufacturing using a 6nm process. While the memory variants remain unknown, we expect the phone to come with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. It could also feature 5GB Virtual RAM expansion support.

CAMERA, SOFTWARE, AND BATTERY

In the camera department, the F21 Pro will have a triple-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and another 2-megapixel sensor. On the front side, the device features a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

The phone will be running the Android 12 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own ColorOS 12 custom user interface on top. It will be powered by a 4,5000mAh battery and have 33W fast charging support.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

As for the pricing, the OPPO F21 Pro smartphone with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage is expected to cost ₹21,990 (~$290) in the Indian market in two color options — Cosmic Black and Sunset Orange.

DISPLAY AND HARDWARE

Similar to the 4G variant, the F21 Pro 5G is also said to be a rebranded version of the Reno7 Pro 5G launched in select markets. This one too features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ screen resolution but has only a 60Hz refresh rate.

It is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor which is an octa-core processor manufactured using a 6nm process, offering both sub-6GHz and mmWave connectivity. This one too could have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It could have 5GB Virtual RAM expansion support.

CAMERA, SOFTWARE, AND BATTERY

As for the camera department, the OPPO F21 Pro 5G is expected to feature a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro lens, the same as the 4G variant. On the front side, it will have a 16-megapixel snapper for taking selfies.

The phone will be running the Android 12 operating system with ColorOS 12.1 and will be powered by a 4,500mAh battery offering 33W fast charging support.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

The OPPO F21 Pro 5G will be offered in Rainbow Spectrum and Cosmic Black colors, costing ₹25,990 ~$342) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage model.

Samsung recently launched the Galaxy M53 5G smartphone and a few days ago, it announced the Galaxy A53 5G. Now, the South Korean giant is gearing up to announce its new A-series phone in the market, dubbed as Samsung Galaxy A54 5G.

Ahead of the official launch, the concept renders of the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G have surfaced online through LetsGoDigital, showcasing what the phone will look like and what can be expected in terms of specifications.

On the front side, it appears that the smartphone will be carrying a display with curved edges and minimal bezels. It is also visible that the phone will have a punch-hole cutout in the top-center position for housing the front-facing camera.

There’s a quad-camera setup on the back of the phone where the sensors are housed inside a camera module that is rectangular in shape and placed in the top-left corner. The three sensors are placed vertically and the fourth sensor along with an LED flash is in a separate column in the same camera module.

As for the specifications laid out for this concept renders, the phone is expected to have a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ screen resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate but there’s a possibility that the screen size may be a bit smaller.

In the camera department, the smartphone could have a 64-megapixel primary camera sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 5-megapixel depth sensor, and a 5-megapixel macro lens. On the front side, the phone is said to have a 32-megapixel snapper.

The device could be made available in two memory versions — 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB internal storage. It could also have a microSD card slot for expanding the storage capacity.

In the software department, we expect the Galaxy A54 5G to be running the latest Android 12 operating system out-of-the-box with the Samsung One UI custom interface on top. It is expected to be powered by a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging support.

Xiaomi has published a huge list of devices that it will be pulling the plug off in terms of software support. All the devices on this end of support (EOS) list will no longer enjoy regular software updates and upgrades from the company. The list consists of a mixture of Mi and Redmi smartphones as presented by the Xiaomi Security Center.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 and Mi Play are the latest devices included in the refreshed list. The two devices have been quite popular during the trajectory of their evolution into the EOS category. It should be noted that while a few critical updates will still be available for these devices, they have stopped receiving general updates and security patches. Devices on the list generally become more vulnerable to hacks and online threats.

Xiaomi, like other major brands, offers a limited lifespan of software updates and upgrades for smartphones. As one set fall under the hammer, as it were, new and improved products pop up to bridge the vacuum. The EOS list now contains 41 Mi and 29 Redmi smartphones, totaling 70 devices so far.

Tipster hints the OnePlus 10 will feature a Dimensity 9000 chipset

In a twist from tradition, the OnePlus 10 Pro was released without its accompanying vanilla model and a tipster has now hinted that it could be on its way. Tipster Yoges Brar has tweeted that the OnePlus 10 could be unveiled soon and it will differ significantly from the Pro version. The tipster indicates that the purported OP 10 model will be powered by a Dimensity 9000 chipset instead of the Snapdragon SoC.

The tipster has pointed out that the vanilla 10 will be a limited edition model and will pack MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9000 chipset. It has to be noted that the tweet is at best, speculative at this time, as the specified smartphone may indeed be different from the OnePlus 10. The tipster is also indicating that work on the OnePlus 10 Ultra model is also ongoing.

There is a new device powered by Dimensity 9000 being readied for a limited release, likely the OnePlus 10 that I had pointed out a couple of months back.
This model is not dead afterall.

OnePlus is yet to make a definitive statement yet on the OnePlus 10 or OnePlus 10 Ultra rumored to be in the works. In that regard, possible release dates for the models are elusive at this time. However, this is not the first time the Chinese phone maker is linked with a MediaTek-powered flagship. The OnePlus 10R had earlier been tipped to pack a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset. That also is yet to get an official confirmation.

As more and more ultrabooks are launched in China bearing Intel’s latest 12th Gen Alder Lake CPUs, it was about time for laptop manufacturers to bring their Intel 12th Gen laptops to the global market.

After months of waiting, today, Lenovo has finally taken the initiative to launch its first Intel 12th Gen Alder Lake ultrabook in the global market, the Lenovo Thinkbook 14 Gen 4+. The Lenovo Thinkbook 14 Gen 4+ was officially announced in Malaysia today and is now available for purchase starting from only RM4239 (999 USD).

If the design of the ultrabook looks familiar, then your instinct serves you correct as this laptop was actually launched in China earlier in March 2022 bearing the model name, Lenovo ThinkBook 14+ instead. However, the global variant(Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+) has more customisation options compared to the China variant.

Let’s start with the processors under the hood. Compared to the 2 options available on the China variant, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ is configurable with 6 Intel 12th Gen CPU options, namely the Core i5-1235U (15W), i5-1240P (28W), i5-12500H (45W), i7-1255U (15W), i7-1260P (28W), and the i7-12700H (45W).

To facilitate a more efficient work environment, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ is also equipped with the latest LDDR5 RAM(8GB/16GB/32GB options) and with optional WiFi 6E support to keep your workflow smooth and fast. Moving onto the screen, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ is a noticeable upgrade from its predecessor as it can now be equipped with a 14 inch 16:10, up to 400 nits, 90Hz, 100% sRGB, 2.8K (2880 × 1800) IPS Display. As for the front-facing webcam, users now have the option to opt for a 1080p webcam for better video calls as well.

As for the battery, the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ is equipped with 47Wh and 62Wh battery options for buyers to select. The laptop supports up to 100W USB-C fast charging and comes with Windows 11 Home preinstalled on the device.

Last but not least is the build. Lenovo claims the ultrabook is easily portable as it starts at just 1.50kg and is 15.9mm thin. On the durability front, buyers will be glad to know that the ThinkBook 14 Gen 4+ features solid and robust aluminium build. The laptop is equipped with dual fans and support for Intelligent cooling to help prevent the laptop from overheating.

Both devices are available from Amazon India, Sennheiser-hearing.com, and other retail outlets at discounted prices.

The Sennheiser CX and CX Plus earphones are both designed to produce top-quality audio and seamless operation. Their sleek design combines comfort with excellence for non-stop entertainment. The models use top-of-the-grade audiophile technology, Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and easy connectivity via Bluetooth 5.2. On offer is high-fidelity stereo sound with strong bass and the needed mix for a thrilling listening experience. Design

The handset providing the most interesting device is definitely the Realme 9 Pro Plus, especially in the Sunrise Blue color option. This device is able to change its color in a few seconds if placed under direct sunlight. Further, it comes with a premium glass back and an elegant camera module with the same color as the rest of the body. The Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus has a glass back too, but it is not able to change its color under sunlight. Further, it is a bigger and chunkier phone than the Realme 9 Pro Plus, so it is less comfortable for one-handed use. On the other hand, it comes with the IP53 certification making it dust resistant and splash resistant.

Display

On paper, it looks like the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus has a better display. It is a Super AMOLED panel with a diagonal of 6.67 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, the HDR10 certification, and a peak brightness up to 1200 nits. The fingerprint reader of this handset is side-mounted, on the power key. The Realme 9 Pro Plus has a lower 90 Hz refresh rate and it lacks the HDR10 technology; further, its brightness is inferior (not much, but it is). On the other hand, it provides an in-display fingerprint reader which doubles as a heart rate sensor.

Specs & Software

The Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus and the Realme 9 Pro Plus are perfect rivals because they are powered by the same chipset: the octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G built at 6 nm and running at a max frequency of 2.5 GHz. Even the most advanced memory configuration is the same, with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. So there should not be a big difference in terms of performance. But you should note that the Realme 9 Pro Plus runs Android 12 out of the box, while the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus is still based on Android 11. This means that the Realme mid-ranger might get more interesting software support.

Camera

If you are looking for the best camera phone, then you should go for the Realme 9 Pro Plus. The resolution of its main camera is lower (50 MP vs 108 MP), but it is a better sensor: the Sony IMX766, and unlike the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus, it supports OIS. The secondary sensors are identical: an 8 MP ultrawide camera and a 2 MP macro lens.

Battery

Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus and Realme 9 Pro Plus have the same battery capacity: 4500 mAh. But the former charges faster thanks to 120W fast charging.

Price

The starting price of the Realme 9 Pro+ in Europe is €399/$434, while the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ starts from €449/$448. There is no definitive winner for this comparison: the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ has a better display and faster charging, while the Realme 9 Pro+ has a better camera, a more interesting design, and it ships with Android 12 out of the box. Earlier this week, Huami teased the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini New Version smartwatch by listing it on Amazon India. The smartwatch is set to debut on August 11 in the country. Now, the brand has confirmed the pricing of the upcoming smartwatches.

According to a MySmartPrice report, the Amazfit GTS 2 Mini New Version is priced at Rs 5,999 and it will be available on Amazon starting April 11 at 12 noon. However, during the first sale on April 11, the smartwatch will be available for just Rs 4,999.

The new version is a lot cheaper than the previous Amazfit GTS 2 Mini smartwatch which retails for Rs 6,999. But the lower price is likely due to the absence of the barometric altimeter, which in turn means that users don’t get access to sports modes like Alpine skiing, Cross-country skiing, Snowboarding double, and Skiing.

The new version of the smart wearable comes in three new colors, namely Midnight Black, Flamingo Pink, and Sage Green. The original GTS 2 Mini also offers three color options being Meteor Black, Flamingo Pink, and Breeze Blue.

The Amazfit GTS 2 Mini New Version sports a 2.5D curved 1.55-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 354 x 306 pixels and 301 PPI pixel density. It offers 450 nits brightness, 80+ watch faces, and comes with Always On Display (AOD) feature with 60+ different patterns.

The body of the wearable is made of aluminum alloy, which measures 8.95mm thick. The watch weighs 19.5 grams in total. In terms of sensors, the watch comes with a BioTracker 2 PPG sensor for heart rate tracking, a movement acceleration sensor, a gyroscope sensor, a geomagnetic sensor, an ambient light sensor, a SpO2 sensor, and a vibration motor.

Other features offered on the smartwatch are sleep quality monitoring, female cycle tracking, and a built-in Amazon Alexa assistant. It also has a breathing exercise mode that guides users through the process and helps in relaxation.

Huawei’s spin-off Honor may be under new ownership but that has not stopped the company from maintaining its naming system. The brand has now launched two new smartphones under the Honor Play series. The models are the Honor Play 6T and Play 6T Pro.

The most spectacular feature of the Honor Play 6T series is no doubt the smart storage expansion technology. This feature allows for RAM expansion by up to 2GB bringing up to 10GB of available RAM. Also, the entire Play 6T series is equipped with exclusive self-developed cache compression technology, which enables the expanded 2GB to achieve 3 times expansion, making 2GB equivalent to achieving a 6GB expansion effect. This effectively improves the cold start speed of apps and the hardware background keep-alive rate.

Oppo launched the K10 smartphone in India last month. However, it is a budget smartphone and not the previously rumored mid-range device. What turns out is that the Oppo K10 series that’s headed to China is completely different from the model launched in India. Now, the Oppo K10 Pro for China has appeared on the TENAA certification website.

According to the TENAA certification, the Oppo K10 Pro has the model number PGIM10. The listing shows the phone’s design. It has a 6.62-inch AMOLED display with a Full-HD+(1800 x 2400 pixels) resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It features a punch-hole panel that doubles as an in-screen scanner.

It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 octa-core SoC paired with 8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. It packs a 4,880mAh dual-cell battery with support for 80W fast charging technology.

The smartphone has a triple camera system at the rear with a 50MP main lens. It is expected to be a Sony IMX766 sensor. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP tertiary unit. It has a 16MP front camera for shooting selfies. The device has the following dimensions – 162.7 x 75.7 x 8.68mm.

Apart from this, the tipster DigitalChatStation has revealed that the vanilla OPPO K10 will be equipped with a Dimensity 8000 SoC. It is tipped to have an LCD panel as opposed to the K10 Pro’s AMOLED screen.

The details for the vanilla model are scarce, but given that the Pro model has bagged a new certification hints that we will also see the vanilla K10 in the news. The launch might happen in the coming weeks.

Samsung is yet to reveal the pricing of the phone but details for its colors are available. The phone has three color variants – Brown, Blue, and Green. The availability is unknown but it is expected to be on sale in European and Asian markets.

Last month, iQOO launched the iQOO Z6 5G smartphone in India featuring the Snapdragon 695 SoC and a 6.58 inch FHD+ LCD display. Now, a new report has surfaced suggesting that the company is currently working on the iQOO Z6 Pro.

According to a 91mobiles report, industry sources have informed that the iQOO Z6 Pro is currently in development and is expected to launch in India soon. The sources have stated that the Z6 Pro will be priced at around Rs 25,000 ($329) in India.

Coming to its specifications, the device is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC. Unfortunately, there are no other specs of the device available right now, but it is speculated that the device might feature an AMOLED display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. To get an idea of what to expect from the Z6 Pro variant, we can take a look at the spec sheet of the vanilla iQOO 6 5G.

OnePlus Nord 2T will be the upcoming phone in the Nord series. It is expected to be a budget phone with powerful internals. Last time, the phone’s release timeline was revealed, and now, the tipster Yogesh Brar(via Onsitego) has shared the specs sheet and render of the phone.

The OnePlus Nord 2T will come with a 6.43-inch punch-hole display. It will be an AMOLED panel with Full-HD+ resolution. As per the image, the phone appears to have a thin-bezel design on all three sides, but at the bottom, it still has a noticeable chin.

Moving to the back, it has a slightly tweaked camera design. It seems to have two small lenses placed below the main sensor in uncanny positions. The phone has a triple camera system with an OIS-enabled 50MP Sony IMX766 main lens. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide Sony IMX355 sensor and a 2MP monochrome lens. Yesterday, realme vice president Xu Qi hinted on Weibo that the realme Q5 series will be launching soon, and today, some more information about the series has been exposed. Digital Chat Station broke the news that the realme Q5 series will support 80W fast charging, which has the ability to fill a 5,000mAh to 100% in just 30 minutes.

The realme Q5 series is supposed to be a budget-friendly offering, so flagship-level 80W charging is surprising. 80W fast charging is a fairly new standard and is associated with flagship-level devices since it’s seen on the likes of the OPPO Find X5 series and the OnePlus 10 Pro.

The realme Q5 earlier appeared on the TENAA certification website where its live images were also posted. The phone looks to be having a flat-edged design and has a dual-camera setup at the rear housed within a rectangular camera module.

The listing also revealed some key specifications of the devices. The realme Q5 series will come with Snapdragon 870 processors, with up to 12GB of memory and 512GB of storage.

The series will comprise two models that’ll most likely be named the realme Q5 and realme Q5 Pro. While the former is equipped with a 64MP + 8MP + 2MP triple camera setup, the latter will come with 13MP + 2MP dual cameras. The Pro model has a 4880mAh (dual-cell) with a body thickness of 8.65mm and 194.5g weight. The vanilla model has a thickness of 8.1mm with 190g weight.
