Xiaomi 12 Lite moniker confirmed by IMEI Database listing

Xiaomi recently unveiled the Xiaomi 12 series which consists of the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X, and Xiaomi 12 Pro. While the 12X is a relatively new entrant, Xiaomi may have got yet another model in the works. A new listing on the IMEI Database indicates that the Xiaomi 12 Lite could well be in the mix as well.

The Xiaomi 12 Lite may well be one of the proposed addition to the Xiaomi 12 series. There could be a few others that may be part of the series. The Xiaomi 12 Lite may be a pretty affordable smartphone and the cheapest in the series. From the IMEI database, we know that the new Xiaomi 12 Lite has model number 2203129G and is codenamed taoyao or L9.

The Xiaomi 12 Lite will likely come with some of the basic features of the series, but some key components may be scaled down to take care of the lower pricing for the model. As per the specs, it has a 6.55-inch curved OLED panel and a 120Hz display refresh rate. It has a fingerprint reader powered by Goodix, while the Snapdragon 778G+ chip is present. The main camera setup consists of three cameras including a 64MP primary sensor, ultra-wide angle, and macro lenses. These lenses however lack an optical image stabilizer. The Xiaomi 12 Lite is expected to run on Android 12 OS.

There are no indications of the pricing or scheduled release date of the Xiaomi 12 Lite. Xiaomi only confirmed that the 12 Lite won’t be launched in China but hasn’t said anything about a global launch. We hope to get more details in the coming days.

Potential OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite with 33W fast charging spotted on FCC database

Last week, early renders of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite surfaced online, and now, a OnePlus device with the model number GN2200 has been spotted on FCC and other certification websites which could indeed be the upcoming Nord CE 2 Lite.

According to a MySmartPrice report, a mysterious OnePlus device with the model number “GN2200” has recently visited the FCC database revealing that it is capable of 5G connectivity and supports dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity.

It also made an appearance on the UL (Demko) certification website revealing its 33W (SUPERVOOC) fast charging capability. It is also confirmed to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, and the TUV Rheinland certification reveals that it has a 4500mAh battery. Lastly, it was spotted on the camerafv5 database revealing many camera-related specifications including a 64MP main camera.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite

So far, the rumors state that the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite will likely come with a 6.59-inch FHD fluid display, which means that it will support a refresh rate higher than 60Hz. The panel type could, however, be an LCD instead of an AMOLED.

The device is also said to come with the Snapdragon 695 SoC with support for 5G connectivity and will run Android 12 out of the box. The phone will house a large 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.

The specs revealed by the OnePlus GN2200 listings are all in line with the rumored specs of the upcoming Nord CE 2 Lite except for the battery capacity. Nevertheless, it is highly likely that the GN2200 is indeed the OnePlus Nord CE 2, and its receiving multiple certifications means that the device will debut soon.

Thieves remove wheels & aero caps from 11 Teslas parked at a Delivery Center in Germany

Tesla‘s charging stations have in recent times become easy targets for vandals who place a premium on the charging cables. A report out of the UK shows that EV charging cable theft was rapidly replacing catalytic converter thefts from ICE vehicles. It was recently reported in China that Tesla charging stations are being vandalized and the cables sold for cash. Apparently, a group of criminals in Germany decided to take things a notch higher as they busted a Tesla delivery center in Weiterstadt, making away with the wheels and aero caps in 11 different Tesla models comprising the Model 3 and Model Y that are waiting to be delivered to their owners.Tesla vandalized

This obviously is a new form of theft as it is the first such incident we are getting despite Tesla having several delivery hubs located in different cities across Europe.

A report by the local police states that the robbery looks to have taken place sometime between 6:00pm on Friday, March 11, and 9:00am on Saturday March 12, obviously taking advantage of the cover of darkness. The criminals succeeded in removing the complete set of wheels on a combination of 11 Model 3 and Model Y EVs, leaving the cars suspended on cinder blocks. It is likely this may have caused some damages to the undercarriage and battery packs of the models.

Apart from making away with the wheels, the vandals also stole the aero caps from another five Teslas. The criminals also deliberately smashed the glass roof on one of the vehicles but it was stated if it is a Model 3 or Model Y.

Investigations are already ongoing and the police are encouraging locals who may have witnessed the crime to come forward. It is unclear if there were security personnel manning the hub as of the time of the robbery. We expect more details to emerge in no distant time.

The global truly wireless earbud market has seen great growth last year. In 2021, the global market grew by 21 percent year on year in terms of sales, while it saw a 25 percent growth in terms of value.

TWS

According to a Counterpoint Research report, this growth rate was slightly lower than initial projections due to the impacts of Coronavirus. But despite these issues, the TWS earbuds market still managed to reach 300 million units in shipments. The surge was likely fueled by the advancement in TWS earbuds and their features. This includes features like ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) and extended play time rising at an affordable price tag.

Furthermore, various brands also started raising their focus towards expanding their smart ecosystem, which also led to a rise in competition and sales in the market. Apple still managed to retain the lead the segment, with its AirPods and AirPods Pro that saw robust sales throughout the year. On the other hand, Samsung saw a sizeable rise of 33 percent year on year thanks to its Galaxy Buds Pro and Galaxy Buds 2.

TWS

Senior Analyst Liz Lee, “The $50-$100 segment grew significantly YoY, as Xiaomi, which had focused on the sub-$50 segment, tried to expand its lineup to the $50-100 range. Further, the competition in the $50-$100 segment intensified, with smartphone OEMs like OPPO, OnePlus and realme pitted against emerging brands like Skullcandy, JLab and Nothing. All this competition resulted in new products offering good quality and more features at reasonable prices and pushing the market growth in 2021.”

New OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z2 renders show colors and design

OnePlus is tipped to launch the upcoming Bullets Wireless Z2 neckband-style earbuds this month in the Indian market. So far, we learned only a few details about the device and had no clue about its design. The tipster Ishan Agarwal has now shared some renders(via Pricebaba) revealing the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z2’s design.

The OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z2 will be a successor to the Bullets Wireless Z that launched 2 years back. The render shows that the neckband earbuds come with a similar design as the predecessor. But it comes in new colors – Blue and Black.

Although we have seen the Black in the Bullets Wireless Z, the Z2’s Black has a different combination of Red into it. We can see the Red tones on the Volume plus and minus button and also on the ear tips.

Other than this, the earbuds were previously spotted on the Bluetooth SIG certification revealing the Bluetooth v5.0 support. It is touted to be IP55-rated for dust and water resistance.

The Bullets Wireless Z2 will have 12.4mm dynamic drivers and are rumored to have up to 30 hours of battery life. It will come with fast charging support that will offer up to 20 hours of playback with just 10 minutes of charging.
