Nokia is reportedly working on the Nokia G21 smartphone. As the name goes, the device will be succeeding the Nokia G20 from last year. The device has paid a visit to Geekbench benchmarking site (via) through which its key details have been revealed.
The Nokia G21 Geekbench listing reveals that it is powered by a Unisoc processor that offers a base frequency of 1.61GHz. This indicates that the device could be powered by the Unisoc T606 chipset. The SoC is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM, and it runs on Android 11. It has scored 312 and 1157 points in the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench, respectively.

Reports have revealed that the Nokia G21 will be sporting an IPS LCD panel of 6.5 inches. The images of the phone that have appeared through its FCC certification revealed that it will be equipped with a teardrop notch display. The screen is expected to carry support for an HD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio.

For selfies and video calls, it may feature an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The rear camera system of the phone may feature a 50-megapixel primary camera and a pair of 2-megapixel lenses. The device will be packed with a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
The Nokia G21 is likely to arrive with up to 4 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of built-in storage. Like other Nokia phones, it will run on the stock version of Android. There is no word on the pricing of the device. A recent leak claimed that the device may go official as early as this month in India. The G21 may come in colors like black and dusk.
HMD Global, the company behind the Nokia smartphones, has announced new protection plans and extended warranty for its devices. With this move, the Finnish company is offering an option for those customers who are concerned about their device’s longevity.
The newly introduced extended warry for the Nokia smartphones is priced at $10 in the United States and offers an additional 12 months of warranty following the device’s original warranty period, covering mechanical and electrical failures.
The company has also introduced protection plans, which are useful for those customers whose smartphones are prone to accidental or liquid damage. HMD Global has introduced two different protection plans.
While one plan is for the 14-month duration, the other plan is offering protection for 24 months. As for the pricing, the cost of these new protection plans for the Nokia smartphones starts at $19.
As for the coverage for the protection plan, the company lists out the following:
Damage due to negligence, gross misconduct, or normal wear and tear
Cosmetic damages (dent on outer body damage, stripping of color, scratches, etc.)
Software issues beyond the Manufacturer’s Limited Warranty, malware, and damages to accessories
Theft or loss of the device
Damage or loss of insured equipment following a fire.
Interestingly, the protection plan also comes with an extended warranty for the device, which usually costs $10. The newly announced services from the company are only available for the new Nokia devices and the service must be activated within 30 days of purchase for protection plans and within 90 days for an extended warranty.
Vivo T1 5G is all set to debut on Feb. 9 in India. Vivo has released a teaser video of the T1 to showcase its key features and design from all angles.

The device seems to feature a side-facing fingerprint scanner. its bottom edge features a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-C, a microphone, and a speaker grille. The appearance of the device is similar to the Vivo Y75 5G, which debuted in the previous week in India.
The specs of the T1 are not known yet. However, a recent report revealed that it will be driven by the Snapdragon 695 mobile platform. The T1 will be arriving with a sub-Rs 20,000 (~$268). With an AnTuTu score of 400K+, it is likely to be the fastest smartphone in its price segment. There is a possibility that the T1 may borrow most of its specs from the Y75, which was introduced with a pricing of Rs 21,990 (~$294).

The Y75 has a 6.58-inch IPS LCD FHD+ 60Hz display, Dimensity 700 chipset, 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging. It has a 16-megapixel front camera, and a 50-megapixel (main) + 2-megapixel (depth) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera unit. The device offers other features like Android 11 and a side-facing fingerprint scanner.
As it is known, the upcoming T-series phones from the brand will be available for purchase exclusively through online channels. The T1 will be sold through Flipkart.
A Xiaomi handset with a 2201116PG model number has been spotted a couple of times. This model was recently spotted at a Malaysian certification site and at FCC. Its Indian variant has been spotted 2201116PI model number. DealnTechhas come across the TDRA certification database listing of the device. The listing reveals that the device may launch with the POCO X4 Pro 5G moniker.

Design
With its circular camera modules, the Huawei P50 Pro has a very original design if compared to the concurrency. Further, it is very attractive because its curved screen at the sides comes with a higher screen to body ratio than OnePlus 10 Pro. Are you looking for the best camera? Then the Huawei P50 Pro is the best device for you and even DxOMark agrees on this after defining it the best Android flagship for mobile photography. It sports a 50 MP main sensor with laser autofocus and OIS, a 64 MP periscope sensor with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS, a 13 MP ultrawide camera and a 40 MP monochromatic sensor. However, the OnePlus 10 Pro still comes with great cameras and it includes a better 50 MP ultrawide sensor.
The battery of the OnePlus 10 Pro is bigger and its display is more efficient, this means that it will offer a longer battery life in most of the scenarios. It features faster charging with a power of 80W, but given that the Huawei P50 Pro has a smaller battery, it will be likely faster to reach the 100%.
Price
Huawei P50 Pro is priced at €1199/$1065 globally, while the OnePlus 10 Pro starts from €650/$732 and it is still not available in the global market. Unless you need the best camera out there, the OnePlus 10 Pro can be considered a superior device.
Back in December 2021, Apple filed a lawsuit against Ericsson accusing it of unfair and strong-arm tactics in cellular patent licensing negotiations. In retaliation, Ericsson has filed a patent infringement litigation against the Cupertino giant and is now targeting its Brazilian redistributor.
Last year, Apple had some of its Standards-Essential Patents (SEPs) expire which are owned by Ericsson. The company did not renew them and instead tried to negotiate with Ericsson for a better deal. However, talks fell apart and Ericsson filed a lawsuit accusing Apple of bad faith negotiations and patent infringement. Apple responded with a lawsuit of their own accusing Ericsson of unfair and strong-arm tactics in cellular patent licensing negotiations.
For those unaware, Standards-Essential Patent (SEPs) are patents without which, in the case of smartphones, a manufacturer cannot make a device. There is a global agreement that licenses for these patents must be available on FRAND terms: fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory.
Since then, the legal battle over the patents has continued to escalate as Ericsson is now going after the Cupertino giant’s Brazillian wholesaler Allied Tecnologia SA in order to make pressure on Apple by cutting off their Brazillian supply chain.
A Foss Patents report on the matter reads “Ericsson keeps up the pressure on Apple. A filing made by Apple in the Eastern District of Texas on Monday (January 31) mentions that “[i]n Brazil […], in addition to targeting Apple in a previous injunction request, Ericsson […] filed for a second preliminary injunction on January 17 against Allied Tecnologia S.A., based on Ericsson’s claimed 4G cellular SEPs and merely because Allied resells Apple cellular products.” Apple is now intervening to protect its wholesaler.
Ericsson’s tactic to go after resellers is the same one that Apple used back in 2012 as part of its own patent infringement claims against Samsung.
Apple has also escalated the matter and is trying to invalidate ten patents held by Ericsson.
Vivo has scheduled to launch the Vivo T1 5G smartphone on February 9 in India. This would be the first T-series phone in the Indian market and is tipped to replace the Y-series in the future. Now, ahead of the phone’s debut, the device has appeared on AnTuTu benchmarks showing an impressive score.

It’s been a while since we saw a Realme Watch under the S-series. The last models in the series were the Realme Watch S and Realme Watch S Pro which launched back in December 2020. Now, MySmartPrice reveals that we might soon see a new S-series smartphone and it could be the Realme Watch S100.

The impressive financial incentives put in place by both the central and state governments in India in support of electric vehicle manufacturing have seen demand increase significantly for EVs. India’s biggest manufacturer of three-wheeled vehicles, Bajaj Auto has announced that it will be unveiling its first electric three-wheeler autorickshaw in the first quarter of 2023. Bajaj aims to develop a lineup that covers the cargo, small passenger, and large passenger segment, but will begin with a small passenger electric three-wheeler.
Bajaj Auto has been testing its battery-powered three-wheelers for a few years and was close to unveiling its first electric vehicle before the coronavirus pandemic slowed its outlook and expectations. According to Rakesh Sharma, Bajaj Auto’s Executive Director, the company is getting close to the final stages of the development of the electric three-wheeler vehicle. It hopes to seek and obtain approvals from the relevant regulatory bodies by the end of 2022, paving way for the launch of the EV by the first quarter of 2023.

Recent industry data indicate that Bajaj Auto has a 62% market share of the traditional three-wheeler market in India. Bajaj also boasts of a substantial dominance across several countries where three-wheelers are the major part of the transportation and logistics architecture. Apart from the passenger three-wheeler slated for early 2023, Bajaj plans to progressively cover the cargo, small passenger, and large passenger segments. It hopes to draw from its strong customer base to leverage the electric three-wheeler EV when it is released. Bajaj says that its extensive dealer networks will provide the needed backbone that could drive the demand for its new three-wheeler. Bajaj hopes to install fixed battery technology in the cars, as it feels swappable technology may not be viable at this time, with affordable cost considerations also in the mix. Subsequent models may come with swappable battery technology when there is a significant degree of saturation in the market.
US electric vehicle giant Tesla has retained its leading position as the top electric vehicle (EV) brand of 2021, as shown from recent industry data. Tesla has maintained the top position of finishing the year strongest among several EV manufacturers since 2018. Amidst claims by a popular vlogger in China that Tesla’s Model 3 had a faulty automatic emergency braking system, the company continues to have a strong showing globally.
Tesla with 170,000 new registrations or purchases for December 2021, was the leader of the pack and was followed in a distant second place by Chinese carmaker BYD with 93,293 registrations. The SGMW* Joint Venture takes the last podium position with 61,306 registrations in December 2021. BYD, it should be noted, is making significant progress in its overseas operations to complement its strong China performance. Some popular brands that were also listed, even with under-par performances include Ford (500 registrations), Geely (11,348 registrations), and Porsche (10,631 registrations). Other names mentioned include Mercedes, Volkswagen, BMW, and SAIC, with several Chinese EV makers also registering a presence.
Overall, Tesla had a 14% market share in 2021. This also indicated a steady decline since 2019 when it accounted for 17% of the market. On the other hand, BYD seems to be experiencing a feverish growth that saw it triple its deliveries for 2021. It is also making inroads into several overseas markets including the United States where it has laid plans for electric school buses with the capability to provide power for the school while not working. BYD is pursuing an aggressive development campaign that could see it upend Tesla in the future.
Last month, we reported that Apple might soon launch the iPhone SE 2022. Now, a report has surfaced stating that Apple has imported the new iPhone SE model for testing in India along with the iPad Air refresh and a new budget iPad.
According to 91mobiles, industry sources have informed that the upcoming iPhone models are imported under model numbers A2595, A2783, and A2784. The smartphone is said to be priced at around $300.
The report claims that this could be the iPhone SE 3. However, previous leaks have stated that Apple has delayed the SE 3 to 2023 and will likely release the iPhone SE Plus in the coming months. So we are most likely looking at the test samples of the iPhone SE Plus.
2020 iPad Air
Other than that, the report reveals two new iPad models that have entered the country for testing. The devices carrying model numbers A2588 and A2589 are believed to be the iPad Air refresh dubbed the iPad Air 5. The two model numbers hint towards WiFi-only and WiFi+Cellular models. They carry a price tag of $500-$700.
The budget iPad carrying model numbers A2757 and A2589 is priced at roughly $300.
These devices will most likely come with a higher price tag than mentioned above due to added import duties and other levies so we suggest you take these prices with a grain of salt.
So far, the upcoming iPhone SE 2022 or the SE Plus model is expected to come with a 4.7-inch Retina HD LCD display and will also feature a Home button with a fingerprint sensor embedded. It is likely to be the last Apple smartphone to come packed with an LCD display panel and a home button.

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer NIO has released its output figures for January 2022. According to a press release circulated today, the company delivered 9,652 electric vehicles which reflected a 33.6% increase when compared to January 2021.
The breakdown of the 9,652 deliveries shows that 1,531 ES8 were delivered in January. The company delivered 5,247 ES6 models in the same month and the EC6 coup accounted for 2,874 deliveries. The ES8 is NIO’s flagship premium smart electric SUV. It has both a six-seater and seven-seater model. The ES6 is a five-seater high-performance smart electric SUV, while the EC6 is a five-seater coupe SUV.
The Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer says the total cumulative deliveries of the three models have reached 176,722 as of the end of January 2022.
Additionally, the company also deployed its first firmware over-the-air update for NIO vehicles’ smart operating systems outside China. The Aspen 3.0.5 NO is released for Norway and brings 199 new features and 401 enhancements to the smart operating system based on NIO Technology Platform 1.0 (NT1.0).

As of January 31, 2022, NIO has built 836 Power Swap stations, 3,766 Power Chargers, and 3,656 destination chargers across China. Having said that, the duo is expected to have a 6.43-inch 90Hz AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution. The Note 11 will feature a quad-camera system with a 50MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP setup, while the Note 11S is expected to have a 108MP main lens and the same auxiliary sensors.

4. Vivo T1 5G
Vivo has scheduled to launch the Vivo T1 5G on February 9 in India. Rumors are rife that the new T series is the new value for money series for the online market. Some of its specs were tipped recently and notably it won’t be the same model as the Chinese version.

All this would cost under Rs. 20,999(~$268), as per a recent report.
5. Samsung Galaxy S22
Samsung’s Galaxy S22 launch has to be one of the most anticipated launches this month. Samsung has set a launch date for Unpacked and it’s happening on February 9.

The series will have S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra and as expected, most of the specs have already been leaked. The S22 and S22+ will sport an FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels. The screen size will differ i.e 6.1-inch for the former and 6.6-inch for the latter. The Ultra, on the other hand, will have a QHD+ LTPO AMOLED panel. The trio will have a 120Hz refresh rate.
The S22 and S22+ feature a 12MP UW + 50MP W + 10MP telephoto triple rear cameras. The Ultra will have a 108MP W+ 10MP telephoto+ 10MP periscope + 12MP UW quad rear camera setup. The series will be powered by the Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, depending on the region.
The S22 will pack the smallest battery out of the bunch i.e 3,700mAh. The S22+ will pack a 4,500mAh, while the S22 Ultra will have a 5,000mAh battery. The Ultra and Plus will feature a 45W fast charging support. On the other hand, will have a 25W fast charging speed. The series is expected to start at $899.
6. Realme 9 Pro series
This time around, Realme is prepping to launch a feature-packed budget phone series in the European and Indian markets. The Realme 9 Pro and 9 Pro+ are scheduled to launch on February 15 in Europe and are expected to launch on February 16 in India.

The Realme 9 Pro will sport a 6.59-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The 9 Pro+ will have a slightly smaller 6.43-inch 90Hz AMOLED screen. But, the display on the 9 Pro+ will double up as an in-display fingerprint scanner. The vanilla 9 Pro will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
As for the cameras, the 9 Pro gets a 64MP + 8MP + 2MP triple rear camera system, whereas, the 9 Pro+ will have a 50MP triple camera system. The vanilla Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 695 SoC, while the Pro+ will be fueled by the Dimensity 920 chipset. The series will have up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Realme 9 Pro series is tipped to start above Rs. 15,000(~$201) in India.
7. Moto Edge 30 Pro
A new report reveals that Motorola may bring the Edge X30 in the Indian and Global markets as the Moto Edge 30 Pro. However, there’s no launch date as of now.

The Edge 30 Pro is expected to come with a 6.7-inch OLED FHD+ panel with a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen will double up as an in-display fingerprint scanner. It will be a flagship phone that would be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It will have up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The device is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery and have 68W fast charging support.
At the moment, there’s no detail regarding its pricing.
8. iQOO 9
Last month, iQOO launched the iQOO 9 series in China, and this month, it is expected to launch in India. The Indian models have passed several certifications hinting at a sooner launch, as early as this month.

iQOO itself has revealed that the iQOO 9 and 9 Pro will be different for India. The iQOO 8 Chinese model will actually be the iQOO 9 and the iQOO 9 Pro could be the Chinese iQOO 9. Having said that, the Pro will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, under the hood and the vanilla model will be powered by the Snapdragon 888+ SoC.
The series will have an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Pro will have a QHD+ screen and the vanilla will flaunt an FHD+ display. The iQOO 9 Pro will have a 50MP + 50MP + 16MP triple rear camera setup, while the vanilla will feature a 48MP + 12MP + 13MP triple rear array. There are no India price details as of now but we expect it to start at around Rs. 40,000(~$535) in India considering the competition.
9. Realme GT2
Realme has already launched the GT2 series in the Chinese market. Now, it is expected to launch in Indian and global markets.
The Realme GT2 and GT2 Pro will most likely have the same specs as the Chinese models. The GT comes powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC, whereas, the GT2 Pro has Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The Pro model has a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED display and the vanilla sports a 6.62-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen. The duo has a 120Hz refresh rate.
The GT2 Pro has a 50MP + 50MP + a microscope lens, while the vanilla has a 50MP + ultra-wide + macro triple rear camera system. The duo packs a 5,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging support.
10. Redmi K50
Redmi is expected to launch the Redmi K50 series of phones after the Spring festival this month.

The former model is expected to come powered by the Dimensity 700 SoC, while the Pro model is said to have the Snapdragon 870 SoC. The K50 Pro+ will get a better Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and lastly the K50 Gaming Edition will have the new Dimensity 9000 SoC.
The series will come with up to 120W fast charging support. It will run on MIUI 13 out of the box. Initially, the series will be only released in China and is expected to launch later in the global and Indian markets.
11. Nubia Red Magic 7
Several reports have revealed that the Red Magic 7 will debut this month in China. It will be a gaming phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It will feature a 6.8-inch FHD+ display with a 165Hz refresh rate. It will have a 64MP triple camera system and an 8MP selfie snapper.
The device was spotted with 18GB of RAM and a battery that has 165W fast charging support. As of now, the details of the Red Magic 7 are scarce but we are expecting to hear more in the coming days.
12. Black Shark 5
Another gaming phone likely to release in February is the Black Shark 5. The series will have two models — Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 Pro. The series will have an AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate on the vanilla and a 144Hz refresh rate on the Pro. The Pro will have a QHD+ resolution, while the vanilla model will boast an FHD+ display.
The Pro will evidently have the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, whereas, the vanill model will have the Snapdragon 888+ chipset. There will be a 5,000mAh battery in the Pro and a 4,600mAh battery inside the vanilla. The duo will have a 120W fast charging support.
13. Lenovo Legion Y90
Last month, Lenovo scheduled the launch of the Legion Y90 for January 1, but unfortunately, it was never released. But now as per notable tipsters, the phone will debut this month after the Spring festival in China.
The Lenovo Legion Y90 will feature a 6.9-inch FHD+ display with a high refresh rate support. It will have a 64MP + 16MP dual rear camera system at the rear and a 44MP selfie snapper. Since it will be a gaming phone, it will be powered by the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It will come with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
It will pack a 5,600mAh dual-cell battery with support for 68W fast charging technology. The device will come in various colors including Black, White, Green, Gold, Red, Cyan, Grey, and Silver. It is expected to compete with the upcoming Black Shark 5, Redmi K50 Gaming, and Red Magic 7.
14. Vivo V23e
This month, Vivo will be launching the V23e smartphone, an addition to the V23 lineup in India. The launch date is unknown as of now but it is expected to be priced between Rs. 25,000(~$334) to Rs. 30,000(~$401) in India.
The specs of the India model are unknown but it is expected to have the same specs as the model launched in Thailand earlier. The Vivo V23e in Thailand has a 6.44-inch FHD+ display. It has a 50MP + 8MP + 2MP triple rear camera system and a 44MP selfie snapper.
It will be powered by the Dimensity 810 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. One of its highlights will be the 44W fast charging support for the 4,050mAh battery inside the handset.
15. Realme C31
Realme’s C31 was spotted on a few certifications confirming its launch to be sooner. The smartphone may launch this month at a budget pricing in India and other Asian markets.
The smartphone will be powered by a budget chipset and pack a 5,000mAh battery. It won’t have any fancy charging speeds, but rather a 10W speed. The phone will run on Android 11 OS and have Bluetooth v5.0 support.
16. Samsung Galaxy A33 5G, A53 5G
Samsung is expected to launch two new A-series phones in the market. The Galaxy A33 5G may debut this month with a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and a 48MP quad-camera system. It will be powered by a Dimensity SoC, however, the exact chipset details are unknown at the moment.
The Galaxy A53, on the other hand, will be a mid-range phone with a 6.46-inch display. It is expected to come powered by the Exynos 1200 SoC and back a 4,680mAh rated battery, as per TENAA. It will have a 25W fast charging support and feature a 64MP triple camera system.

Earlier this week, India had announced its plans for a digital currency that will launch next year. It even proposed taxing virtual assets like cryptocurrency and NFT, as it prepares to recognize digital currencies as a legal tender.
According to finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman (Via TechCrunch), the Indian government is proposing a 30 percent tax on income from the transfer of virtual assets. She further added that 1 percent tax should be deducted at source on payments made to purchase digital assets. Sitharaman said that “No deduction in respect of any expenditure or allowance shall be allowed while computing such income except cost of acquisition. Further, loss from transfer of digital asset cannot be set off against any other income. Gift of virtual digital asset is also proposed to be taxed at the hand of the recipient.”
The news arrives as the nation paves the way for cryptocurrencies and NFTs, although, government regulations on these assets are still uncertain. Notably, India’s central bank is planning on a new digital currency that is set to be released sometime next year. Its already began testing, which will go on for several months as the nation analyses its impact on the banking and monetary systems. Apart from just offering some clarity over taxing on digital assets, this news also showcases a rather progressive outlook from the Indian government since it is legalizing cryptoassets.

According to 91mobiles, the renders have been provided by industry sources. Taking the look at the Edge 30 Pro design featured in the renders, we can observe that the smartphone is essentially a Moto Edge X30 with the same triple-camera setup on the rear with an oval-shaped camera island. Motorola Edge 30 Pro has a centered punch-hole cutout for the selfie cam, slim bezels, and flat edges.
Earlier render leaks revealed that the phone will come with Motorola’s ‘M’ branding shifted towards the bottom left side of the rear panel however, the new renders reveal that it will be located in the same place as the Edge X30.
Moto Edge 30 Pro specifications (rumored)
Being a rebadged version of the Moto Edge X30 which was released in China around the end of 2021, we expect the Edge 30 Pro to be mostly identical to the Chinese variant in terms of specs. However, the Moto Edge 30 Pro is said to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor rather than a side-mounted one.
The Moto Edge 30 Pro is expected to sport a 6.7 inch OLED FHD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 576Hz touch sampling rate. The screen will offer 100 percent DCI P3 color gamut and HDR10+.
For photography, It is expected to come with a 50-megapixel (main) + 50-megapixel (ultrawide) + 2-megapixel (depth) triple camera unit. For selfies, it will come with a 60-megapixel front-facing camera.
Similar to the Edge X30, the Moto Edge 30 Pro will house a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip paired with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It will run MYUX 3.0 based Android 12 OS out of the box. For power, the device may come with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 68W fast charging.
No details on the Indian or global pricing have surfaced as of yet. The device is expected to launch in February, therefore, we can expect more information to appear in the coming days, so stay tuned.
Xiaomi India will be holding a launch event on February 9. The company has confirmed to unveil four products at this conference. These include Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 11S, Redmi Smart TV X43, and Redmi Smart Band Pro. Ahead of their official announcement, the price of one of the phones and the fitness tracker have been tipped.

According to Xiaomi Central (via Xiaomiui), the Redmi Note 11S will be offered in three memory configurations, such as 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 128GB. These variants will be priced at ₹16,999, ₹17,999, and ₹19,999 respectively.
A previous price leak suggested that the handset will start at either ₹16,999 or ₹17,499 for the base model. Since both the reports propose similar pricing, this could be accurate.
Further, the new leak also sheds some information on the pricing of the Redmi Smart Band Pro. The latest Redmi-branded fitness tracker for India will cost under ₹5,000. Specifically, it is said to retail at an introductory price tag of only ₹2,999.

The price of the Redmi Note 11S in India does not sound impressive. Because the company already sells the last year’s Redmi Note 10 Pro with some uniques features in this very same price bracket. The older model offers a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G chipset, 5MP telemacro camera with autofocus, 120Hz refresh rate, 1,200 nits peak brightness, and rear glass panel.
On the other hand, the price of the Redmi Smart Band Pro sounds too go to be true. Since there are not many fitness tackers with a rectangular AMOLED display in this price segment.
Customs duty rates are being adjusted to provide a graded rate structure to facilitate the manufacturing of products like wearables and electronic smart meters in India, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Tuesday.
Detailing the Union Budget 2022-23, Sitharaman said that duty concessions are being given on some items to enable the domestic manufacturing of high-growth electronic goods. These items also include transformers of mobile phone chargers and camera lenses of mobile camera modules and certain other items.

“This will enable domestic manufacturing of high growth electronic items,” she noted. The finance minister also stated that electronic manufacturing has been growing rapidly.
“Customs duty rates are being calibrated to provide a graded rate structure to facilitate domestic manufacturing of wearable devices, hearable devices, and electronic smart meters,” she added.
According to a vision document released by communications and information technology minister Ashwini Vaishnaw earlier this week, the aforementioned segments are expected to rise to $8 billion in exports in FY26 from close to zero in FY21. Electronics components exports, meanwhile, are expected to near double from $9 billion in the same period to $17.3 billion (via mint).

Now, we have a similar situation at hand where Apple has issued a legal notice against the Ukrainian indie film director Vasyl Moskalenko, who wrote the comedy film titled Apple-Man.
If you think that this film might have to do something with Apple (the company) or its products then you are mistaken. The movie is a satire based on the superhero genre and its protagonist “Apple-man” has the superpower to levitate Apples (fruit) which he uses to fight his enemies. The film was crowdfunded through Kickstarter and raised $120,000 to begin production.
The movie has already been approved by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (PTO), Apple is seeking to have the trademark registration application denied by mounting “an aggressive opposition.”
The Cupertino giant has initiated trial proceedings against the director over concerns that consumers are likely to believe that “Apple-man is associated with, approved by, or even endorsed by Apple” the company stated in a 467-page court filing.
Director Moskalenko has stated that his movie is about Apples, the fruit, and there is no mention of Apple (the company) in his movie.
The indie movie director stated in an interview that “if my registration would be denied, there are no guarantees that Apple wouldn’t demand to delete my film after its release.”
“It actually looks like a trademark bullying,” added Moskalenko. “I still hope this situation is just a misunderstanding. I am open to negotiations and hope we can resolve this dispute,” concluded the Ukrainian filmmaker.

Leakster Ben Geskin today shared a rumored iPhone X design that was widely shared prior to its launch in 2017. It features an Android-style Touch ID on the back and narrow bezels up front.

Around five years ago, it was rumored that Apple was departing from the iconic design that featured thick bezels on the top and bottom, with the bottom one housing a round Touch ID button (via MacRumors). Questions were raised about where the fingerprint authentication would be placed, but Apple eventually unveiled Face ID, ditching Touch ID completely.
However, rumors at the time had suggested that Apple would be sticking with Touch ID and implementing it at the rear of the device or even under the display. Some really consistent series of leaks had seemed to prove so — they showed an iPhone X with slimmer top and bottom bezels and an aluminum rear with a round Touch ID sensor.
The widespread and consistent nature of such leaks had led many to believe that Apple itself was behind them, seeking to lower customer expectations. And that’s exactly what Ben Geskin has once again brought up through his tweet.
The tweet quotes another about the sale of an “iPhone 7s Plus Galactic Silver 64GB” for $125. It’s unclear if the device is a dummy or an actual working prototype iPhone. But the latter seems unlikely because if the device had indeed been the real deal, there’s no way it would’ve been sold at such a giveaway price. A fake Android with the body of an iPhone could be another possibility but it’s difficult to know for sure.
Flagship iPhones have been lacking Touch ID functionality for around five years now but Apple is rumored to be bringing it back. Reports did suggest that the company tested under-display fingerprint sensors for the iPhone 13 series, but Apple apparently chose to stick with Face ID for another year. Thus, it’s possible that fingerprint authentication is set to make a return soon with a future iPhone.
