A new report has revealed that China, US, and South Korea hold the top three ranks in the global Esports market. These three nations account for the highest income in the world for Esports.
The information arrives from Omdia (Via GameDeveloper) who also noted that the highest income changed from the US to China in the past five years. Back in 2018, the US ranked first, while China and South Korea came in second and third respectively. But as of 2019, the China has surpassed the US in terms of Esports revenue, with South Korea arriving third, Germany ranking fourth, and Britain holding the fifth spot.
Furthermore, Omdia also shared its projection for the Esports industry till the year 2025. It believes that the top five countries accounted for 73 percent of the global Esports revenue in 2020, although, this share will drop to 69 percent as lower ranked countries slowly increase their market share in the industry thank to the expansion of high speed networks.
Notably, iResearch, a Market research and consultancy based firm, shared their 2021 China Esports Industry Report back in May 2021, which shared the overall market size of China’s Esports industry. The report believed that the market will surpass 145 billion Yuan (roughly 22.5 billion US Dollars) in 2020. The largest contributor to this is the rapid growth of the mobile Esports gaming market. This figure is expected to surpass 180 billion Yuan within this year.

While the Samsung Galaxy S22 series is still a while away from launch, various rumors have surfaced online in the recent weeks. Now, a new report has revealed that the Galaxy S22 Ultra might feature a waterdrop notch display on the front.
According to a LetsGoDigitalreport, a source has revealed new details regarding the high end Ultra variant. A well known source from South Korea, Super Roader, who is also a former employee of the wireless division of Samsung Electronics. At times certain reports might have conflicting information, and now, Super Roader believes that the camera system on the Galaxy S22 Ultra is different from what we have reported on in the past.
Reportedly, the South Korean tech giant will feature a waterdrop notch over a punch hole selfie shooter on the front display. But the news also implies that the dual camera island modules on the rear might not be the official design of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Although, it does seem odd that the brand is aiming on equipping a front camera design that it ships with its budget Galaxy A series of smartphones.
As of right now, finer details regarding the high end Galaxy S22 Ultra is still unknown. However, various reports had hinted at it being a successor to the Galaxy Note series. Yesterday, we had also covered schematics of the device, which showcased the smartphone with a built in S Pen slot as well. So stay tuned for more updates.
Google is set to reveal its Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro today and it seems that the California-based company has a lot riding on the flagship phones.
A report by Nikkei Asia shows that Google has asked its suppliers to manufacture over 7 million Pixel 6 series smartphones. This has been claimed to be around double the 3.7 million sales figure from last year.
Google Pixel 6 Pro
The goal is despite Google planning on selling the exact number of devices compared to last year – the 2020 portfolio included the Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, and Pixel 5 while 2021’s lineup is comprised of the Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, and Pixel 6 Pro.
And as if the 7 million figure isn’t big enough already, Nikkei’s sources claim that Google is planning on producing 5 million Pixel 5a devices as well, making a total of a whopping 12 million. Sure, the figure is nowhere near Samsung’s goal of producing 20 million Galaxy S22 series smartphones, but it is still a start and an indicator for what’s to come.
However, the 5 million Pixel 5a figure is a little ambiguous. This is because the device has only been launched in the United States and Japan, due to which it is unclear if the request to the suppliers is only for the two countries or if Google plans on selling the phone in more countries.
Regardless, if Google’s hopes come to fruition, it is likely that the company will be stealing the market share from companies like Apple and Samsung, at least in the US. The Pixel 6 models are after all poised to get four years of OS updates and five years of security patches, positioning them right above Samsung and under Apple in terms of software support.
Google is apparently also working on a new Chromebook codenamed Halvor, which would be the successor to the Pixelbook Go and is said to arrive sometime in 2021.

Last week, Zepp Health (formerly Huami) announced its latest generation of smartwatches. Since then, these wearables have been slowly making their way to various markets around the world. They have been now confirmed to launch in India on October 20 (tomorrow).
Zepp Health introduced three new smartwatches a few days back. They are Amazfit GTR 3, Amazfit GTR 3 Pro, and Amazfit GTS 3. All three will be officially unveiled tomorrow in India.
Ahead of that, their availability has been confirmed by partner retailers. In fact, we already know the price of one of these models.
According to a report by MySmartPrice, the Amazfit GTR 3 will be sold in India via Flipkart. It will be priced at ₹13,999 and will be available for purchase at 12 PM starting tomorrow itself. Buyers will be able to avail 10% discount on SBI Credit card transactions.
On the other hand, the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro and the Amazfit GTS 3 will be sold by Amazon India. Unfortunately, that’s all the information we have at the moment. It’s not known how much these wearables will cost and when they will go on sale.
Anyway, going by the price of Amazfit GTR 3, the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro should cost more than that. Whereas, since the price of GTR 3 is almost similar to its predecessor, the Amazfit GTS 3 will likely carry a near-identical price tag of its forerunner.

With the launch of the Redmi Note 11 nearing, the company has begun teasing the smartphones. But prior to the launch, the Note 11 series had been spotted on a popular Chinese e-retailer website, JD.com.
Looking at these listings (Via Arsenal), the Chinese smartphone maker’s Note 11 5G, Note 11 Pro 5G, Note 11 Pro+ 5G was spotted on JD.com. In other words, the listing confirms that the company is planning on launching three model within the series. While we had reported on the base and Pro variant housing a 5,000mAh battery pack with 33W and 67W fast charging support, respectively, the JD.com listing showcases the Note 11 Pro+ with 120W fast charging.
For those unaware, the Redmi Note 11 5G is expected to house an LCD panel that supports a 120Hz refresh rate along with 3 megapixel front camera and a 50 megapixel camera on the rear. Under the hood, a MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset may power the device. On the other hand, the Pro variant will apparently sport an OLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate with a 16 megapixel camera on the front and a 108 megapixel snapper on the back. This version might house a Dimensity 920 chipset paired with at least 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. As of right now, finer details about the series are still unknown, so stay with us for more updates.
The Apple ‘Unleashed’ event saw the launch of multiple significant Apple products including the all-new MacBook Pros, AirPods 3, and others. These were all expected though and had been leaked quite a bit so didn’t really come as a surprise. What did come as a surprise though was a microfiber Polishing Cloth accessory designed for cleaning the screens of Apple devices.
Apple’s latest innovation
Apple has barely given any information about the cloth itself and hasn’t specified its material, only stating on its website that it’s “made with a soft, nonabrasive material” and “cleans any Apple display, including nano-texture glass, safely and effectively,” which is understandable considering that the cloth is nothing but a…cloth.
Its images reveal something with a striking resemblance to a mouse mat. And apart from having an Apple logo stamped on it, it really doesn’t seem to offer anything over a regular microfiber cloth one can grab for a fraction of the price.
Apple Polishing Cloth
Apple recommends using a “soft, lint-free cloth” for cleaning all of its products and to avoid “abrasive cloths, towels, paper towels, or similar items” in one of its support pages. Hopefully, the Polishing Cloth will be meeting these requirements.
Last but not the least, there is even a compatibility list mentioning almost the entirety of Apple’s hardware portfolio, just in case you’re wondering if you’d rub the wrong device with it and accidentally summon an evil genie.
While the Apple Polishing Cloth sells separately for $19, it does come free with the Pro Display XDR, meaning you would have to spend $5,000 if you wish to get it along with your purchase.
Lei Jun, Xiaomi Chief Executive and Founder, has stated that the company is planning on beginning mass production for its self branded cars in the first half of 2024.
A spokesperson of the Chinese tech giant shared the news (Via Reuters) that was based on a comment made by the senior official during an investor event. Zang Ziyuan, a director in Xiaomi’s international marketing department also shared the news on his official Weibo account (a Chinese microblogging website). Notably, this marks the first official goal for the company in its upcoming electric vehicle division, which was first announced earlier this year.
Furthermore, the brand’s shares also rose by 5.4 percent, which also makes it the biggest daily percentage rise since 12th May 2021. Back in March, the company also stated that it would be investing a sizeable 10 billion US Dollars for its electric car project over the course of the next ten years. In August, Xiaomi had also completed the business registration for its electric vehicle unit as well.
As of right now, the company is on a hiring spree for its car project, although, it had yet to reveal if it will partner up with an established car brand for its vehicle or if it will produce this car on its own. So stay tuned for more, as we will be providing updates when additional information is available regarding this matter.
The Galaxy Z Flip3 is arguably the hottest foldable smartphone in the market right now. The device is in the news since its debut. That’s because Samsung has been continuously promoting it one way or another. For the latest promotion, the South Korean tech giant has partnered with Marvel and Disney.
Samsung has announced (via SamMobile) two new accessories for the Galaxy Z Flip3 in association with Marvel and Disney. The first one is a Marvel-branded strap and the second one is a Mickey Mouse-shaped ring.
These two products are currently exclusive to Taiwan priced at NT$690 and NT$890 respectively. They can be attached to the official silicon cover for Galaxy Z Flip3 sold by Samsung.
Above all, the new accessories will be only available at Samsung Experience Hall, Samsung Wisdom Hall, and Samsung Mall. The limited availability suggests that the new strap and ring may not make their way to other markets.
At the same time, the company also unveiled six additional straps for Galaxy Z Flip3 designed by local Taiwanese artists. However, the availability of these straps will be only announced in November.
Lastly, the Galaxy Z Flip3-shaped case for Galaxy Buds Live, Galaxy Buds Pro, and Galaxy Buds2 also made their debut in Taiwan priced at NT$990.
For those unaware, the M1 Max chip features 10 core CPU and 32 core GPU. In a benchmarking result on Geekbench, the processor scored 1,749 points in single core and 11,542 points in multi core. This implies that the multi core score is double that of the previously launched M1 chip on the 13 inch MacBook Pro. Based on the performance of the M1 chip, NotebookCheckalso shared its expectations for the GPU’s performance.
As per the report, the M1’s 8 core GPU offers 2.6 TF, so the the M1 Pro’s 14 core version could offer around 4.5 TF, while the M1 Pro with 16 core could offer 5.2 TF. On the other hand, the M1 Max 24 core could offer 7.8 TF and its 32 core could offer an impressive 10.4 TF. Keep in mind this is a rough estimate and not official so take it with a pinch of salt. Although, this estimate does offer us an interesting look at its potential GPU power.
M1 Max
While the M1 Max draws up to 100W less power than a high end laptop with a discrete GPU, its 32 core’s estimated performance seemingly rivals the desktop grade Nvidia RTX 2080 GPU, which offers 10.07 TF, and even the Sony’s latest PlayStation 5 that offers 10.28 TF. Despite this, the Cupertino based giant claims that the M1 Max can offer up to 21 hours of battery life.
The OnePlus 9RT is yet to make its entry into India, although we have reason to believe that it is now closer than ever.
Tipster Mukul Sharma on Twitter today revealed that the OnePlus 9RT launch event for India is “not too far away from now” and is right around the corner. The same launch event will also be lifting the curtains on the OnePlus Buds Z2 TWS earbuds, so there’s that.
[Exclusive] OnePlus 9 RT and OnePlus Buds Z2 Indian launch is not too far away from now. The launch event is right around the corner. In all likelihood, the teasers will start soon now.#OnePlus#OnePlus9RT#OnePlusBudsZ2

The phone went on sale for the first time today in China where it managed to surpass 100 million Yuan worth of sales in just 5 minutes, thus proving its popularity and demand. If calculated at the price of 3,399 Yuan ($577), the units sold must’ve been around 30,000.
In India, the OnePlus 9RT could be priced between ₹40,000 to ₹44,000 (~$533-587), as per a new report.
As already mentioned, the OnePlus Buds Z2 will be launched alongside the phone. The earbuds are an upgrade to the Buds Z that were launched last year. They’re being sold in China at a price of 399 yuan (~$62).
Earlier today at the realme GT NEO 2T launch event, the Chinese handset maker also unveiled realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12 in its home country. At the end of the presentation of the software, the brand revealed that the entire realme GT series will get the ‘Early Access’ update in October.
A few days back, realme kickstarted the Android 12 Early Access program for realme GT 5G in China. Now, as realme UI 3.0 is official in the country, the company has confirmed that the realme GT family will receive the latest version of its mobile operating system this month itself.
Since October is about to end soon, we expect realme to make announcements regarding the recruitment of testers in the coming days. If it all goes well, the stable update rollout may begin as early as December.
Unfortunately, the brand did not reveal when other models will be getting the latest system update in China. But it has released a detailed update plan for global markets.
The midrange phone market has gotten more jam-packed than ever thanks to a slew of releases in the past few months. This is a part of the paradigm shift in regions like India where midrangers are now selling more than ever thanks to improved value for money. One of such midrange devices is the Realme Q3s, which after leaking for weeks has finally been launched in China.
The Realme Q3s is powered by the Snapdragon 778G 5G processor that has become a staple of sorts among midrange offerings and is also found on the likes of the Realme GT Master Edition and the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. It is a premium chip that promises nearly flagship-level performance.

But of course, cameras are one of the most important factors any buyer considers, and Realme has not disappointed. The phone comes with a triple camera setup at the rear – a 48MP primary sensor, a 2MP black and white portrait lens, and a 2MP macro lens. The primary supports all of the latest camera tech including AI scene recognition, AI beauty, filters, and AI-enhanced night mode. An on the front, we get a 16MP selfie shooter.

China is set to overtake South Kore in OLED as well as LCD display market. Chinese display maker BOE is expanding its partnership with Apple, which will increase its presence in the OLED and LCD market as well.
According to a BusinessKoreareport, BOE has began the shipment of 6.1 inch OLED panels for the Cupertino based giant’s iPhone 13 series last month. These shipments are expected to further rise after some testing at Apple. BOE had previously only supplied OLED panels to refurbished iPhone models. But now, the Chinese display maker is responsible for up to 40 percent of Apple products that use OLED panels.
On the other hand, Samsung Electronics‘ share in the supply chain for OLED has fallen over time. Back in 2017, Chinese LCD panel makers had caught up with LCD manufacturers in South Korea. This appears to also be reflected in the OLED panel market as well, with BOE leading the Chinese manufacturers. As of right now, LG Display and Samsung Display are the top two largest producers of OLED in the global market.
Although, the growth of the two brands is slower than their Chinese counterparts. While Samsung and LG showcased an average annual growth of 12 percent and 19 percent respectively, firms like BOE and CSOT are seeing 25 percent and 52 growth rates annually respectively. In other words, they are expected to catch up to these South Korean firms soon and even possibly overtake them.

Now, it has been confirmed by the company itself that the Honor Vision X2 series of Smart TVs will be discounted by up to 800 yuan (approximately $125) during the upcoming Double 11 sale in China.

Apart from the discounted rate, the company is also offering a 3-year warranty for the newly purchased Honor Vision X2 TVs in China. Do note that the offer is for the Double 11 sale, which will take place on 11th November.
All the models in this series come with 4K UHD screens with 92 percent DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, a 25 percent increase over the first generation panels. They are HDR10 compliant and comes with anti-aliasing optimization, NR noise reduction, and a few other functions. The devices have also passed the German Rheinland non-flicker certification and Rheinland low blue light eye protection certification.
Under the hood, they are powered by a MediaTek chipset which packs four Cortex-A53 cores and a Mali-G52 MC1 graphics processor. As for the memory, the TVs come with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
There’s a dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) WLAN chip with a 2×2 MIMO antenna for high-speed internet connectivity. The TV is equipped with a self-developed Cast + Projection protocol that can reduce projection delay by more than 60 percent. There are also USB-A and HDMI ports along with RJ-45.
The Honor Vision X2 models are running the company’s own Magic UI out-of-the-box which the company says brings an immersive and ultimate user experience. It’s not known if the Magic UI is based on HarmonyOS or the Android operating system.
