The Realme GT Neo2 is all set to break cover on Sept. 22 in China. Ahead of the launch, the Chinese manufacturer has been gradually revealing the key features of the GT Neo2. Today, it revealed what to expect from Neo2’s display.
It is already known through the TENAA listing and other leaks that the Realme GT Neo2 will feature a 6.62-inch AMOLED display with a punch-hole design. The screen will carry support for a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio.

Realme has confirmed with it will be an E4 AMOLED panel, which consumes 15 percent less power than the previous generation. The screen will offer an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz, a touch sampling rate of 600Hz, 1300nits of brightness, 5000000:1 contrast ratio, 10240-level dimming, DC dimming, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. For security, it will be integrated with an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
Earlier this week, Realme confirmed that the GT Neo2 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 870 chipset, a 5,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging, and diamond ice core cooling system. Other reports have revealed that the GT Neo2 will feature a 16-megapixel front camera and a 64-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera unit. The handset is expected to come equipped with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage in China.
A recent claimed that there could be two CPU variants of the Realme GT Neo2. The first one could be powered by the Dimensity 1200-Ai chipset that may carry pricing of about 2,000 Yuan (~$310). On the other side, the Snapdragon 870 variant could be a gaming-focused variant that may cost around 2,500 Yuan (~$387).
Samsung is reportedly working on new A-series phones for 2022. A recent report claimed that the South Korean company is planning to bring OIS support to entire Galaxy A series lineup next year. Now, a South Korean publication has reported that the Galaxy A73 could be the company’s first A series phone to feature a 108-megapixel camera.
A new report by The Elec claims that Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy A73 in the first half of 2022. Apart from featuring a 108-megapixel primary camera, it will also carry support for OIS.
The Galaxy A73 will be replacing the Galaxy A72 smartphone this year. The A72 features a quad-camera unit, which consists of an OIS-enabled 64-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 5-megapixel macro shooter. For selfies, it has a 32-megapixel snapper.
Nothing much is known on the other specs of the Galaxy A73. It is likely to feature a Snapdragon 7-series chipset, which may tag along 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of built-in storage. Hopefully, the rumor mill will spill more information on the A73 in the coming months.
Like the predecessor A72, the Galaxy A73 may offer users an AMOLED panel that offers a high refresh rate and a big battery with fast charging capabilities. It may continue to offer IP67 rated dust and water resistance. It remains to be seen whether it will come preinstalled with the upcoming One UI 4.0 and Android 12 OS.
Google had previously announced that the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones were scheduled for release in the fall of 2021. In June this year, tech giant Google opened its first brick-and-mortar store located in the Chelsea area of New York City. The company has now placed these smartphones on display in its New York City store. Visitors to the store can now have a close look at the devices but they are not allowed to touch the two smartphones.
Earlier this week, Google provided a teaser of the Pixel 6, but the Google store Chelsea is the closest anyone has gotten to these devices. Google’s first retail store in New York City offers a scenic display of discovery boxes and it is among these boxes that adorn the floor to ceiling of the store, that you will find the two smartphones. The boxes advertise various themes, integrations, and products. According to Google, the discovery boxes are arranged in a manner that combines aesthetics with an advertisement, as the two products are shown from the boxes.
The background is themed to the color variant of the two devices. On the display are both the names of the smartphones and the information that it is coming by fall 2021. The QR code on the display covered the view of the rear camera of the device. However, the QR code, when scanned, takes you to the Google Store landing page which was recently updated.
We already know some color variants of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones and these include red, orange, pink, and gold. A few things are however still pending for the two smartphones and this includes the absence of FCC certification for both models. We can be sure that the Google Store Chelsea could be one of the first stores to receive and sell the two smartphones when they land in the fall of 2021.
BBK subsidiary OPPO, Thursday, held a launch event in China where it unveiled the latest Android fork, the ColorOS 12. The company also unveiled several other products. One of the products is the Find X3 Pro Photographer Edition, a highly anticipated model. Also unveiled is the OPPO Watch 2 ECG Edition.
The Find X3 Pro Photographer Edition is an upgraded version of the Find X3 Pro which itself is a power premium smartphone that has courted rave reviews since OPPO unveiled it earlier this year. The major difference in the Photographer Edition is the leather and metallic glass finish which the rear aspect adopts. The metallic part consists of an electroplated silver paint surface and uses the fog AG process which gives it a metal texture. The lower part then features a rough-grained leather, allowing for a firm grip.
Although the Find X3 Pro Photo Edition is said to be a collaborative effort between OPPO and Kodak, there is no improvement in the camera design or configuration. The device packs a triple camera setup made up of a 50MP ultra-wide Sony IMX766 sensor, a 13MP periscope camera with f/2.4 aperture, 5x hybrid zoom, 20x digital zoom, and a 3MP microlens with f/3.0 aperture. The front camera also retains the 13MP selfie shooter. This is the same setup on the Find X3 Pro.
The camera also comes with 14 different city filters which change as a result of the geographic location. It supports long-exposure shooting, and the camera provides a super RAW format shooting. In terms of video recording, the movie mode supports Log format shooting. Combined with 10bit color, it can fully retain the dynamic range of the picture and provide sufficient post-production space. In addition, video shooting also supports 4K HDR high-definition recording.
The Find X3 Pro Photography Edition is powered by a Snapdragon 888 paired with a whopping 16GB RAM. There is also 512GB storage onboard with one year free 1TB cloud membership. The device retains support for IP68 waterproof and dustproof ratings. Another unique feature is the spectacular retail box which it comes with.
OPPO Find X3 Pro Photography Edition is priced at 6,499 yuan (~$1006). It comes in Silver with Black color and is already on pre-order. The product will go on sale in China from September 22.
Harman, the Samsung-owned corporation behind Harman Kardon, JBL, AKG, MORE, and several other audio brands, has announced a new brand, InifnityLab, whose focus is on charging accessories and speakerphones. If you think the accessory market is already saturated, Harman doesn’t agree with you.
The InfinityLab brand is reported to be a sister company to Infinity, one of Harman’s more popular subsidiaries. The new accessories manufacturer has already announced a wide range of products that include GaN chargers, power banks, wireless chargers, and even a speakerphone.
InifnityLab says its products are built on three principles – Sustainability, Intentional Design, and Advanced Technology.
The manufacturer says its products and packaging are made from recyclable materials. It claims its power banks, chargers, and speakerphone are made from 90% recycled plastic while its charging cables are made from recycled polyester yarn. Its packaging is also plastic-free and each package is designed to be slim to make shipping more efficient.
All InfinityLab products have a signature design – a neon green accent that is visible on all of its products and lets them stand out from the boring all-black and all-white accessories that abound. It also claims that its power banks and chargers are designed to be slim and light.
Coming to its current offerings, InfinityLab’s power banks are sold under the InstantGo line with capacities starting at 5000mAh and going up to 10000mAh. Some models have built-in cables and buyers can choose between USB-C and Lightning cables. All of its current power banks have support for 18W or 30W Power Delivery. Prices start at $49.95 and go up to $79.95.
For its chargers, the price starts at $19.95 for the 20W USB-C PD InstantCharger and maxes out at $79.95 for the InstantCharger 100W which has four ports and swappable plug pins which makes it great for travelers.
The $129.95 InfinityLab ClearCall speakerphone connects to your computer or phone for clear hands-free conference calls. It has four 360º far-field microphones that can pick up your voice from anywhere in the room, connects via Bluetooth 5.0 or USB to your PC, and a battery life that can last up to 24 hours on a single charge. And if you are running low on battery on your phone, the speakerphone can share some of the juice from its 6500mAh battery with your phone, though charging maxes out at 10W.
All of these products are listed on the manufacturer’s website, so you can go ahead to check them out.

As part of its expanding global operations, Motorola will introduce some of its models to the European market for the first time. The move will see the Moto G60 and G60S among others, gracing the European scene from Monday, September 20.

However, the Motif ANC is only available for preorder at this time, with general availability by September 30.
Marshall Motif ANC
The signature feature in the Motif ANC is, of course, active noise cancellation (ANC). The ANC feature is fully customizable, as users can regulate the level of noise cancellation required in different situations.
The battery life of the Motif ANC is also decent, as it offers up to 5 hours of activity on a full charge when ANC is active. The battery life is massively extended by 20 hours when the charging case is attached. The pair of earbuds have multiple microphones, touch controls, and the earbuds are rated IPX5 which offers moisture protection. In addition, wireless charging is possible with the Motif ANC.
Marshall Minor III
Marshall Minor III features 12mm drivers for decent sound output, IPX4 rating, and general comfort guaranteed even when used for extended periods. The Minor III offers 5 hours of playtime on a full charge, and this is extended up to 20 hours when attached to the charging case. Realme’s V-series is getting a new model soon and it is a refresh of a model that launched earlier this year. A leak has revealed that the new phone is the Realme V11s, and while it will share similar specs to the Realme V11, it will have a new design.
Realme V11 5G
The Realme V11 5G launched as a budget 5G smartphone for the Chinese market in February. Sporting an HD+ display, MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 chipset, dual rear cameras, and a 5000mAh battery, the phone was announced with a starting price just shy of $190.
According to the Chinese leaker that goes by @Arsenal on Weibo, the Realme V11s will have the same 128GB storage capacity and 5000mAh battery as the Realme V11. He also adds that the phone is “very pretty”! Considering the fact that the Realme V11 isn’t much of a head-turner, we are pretty eager to see what the Realme V11s looks like.
The leaker had revealed some other details of the phone last month. In a post dated August 13, he disclosed that the Realme V11s will have an LCD display. It will also be better than the Realme Q3, a Snapdragon 750G-powered phone that is also sold in China. He also added that the V11s won’t have a screen as good as that of the Q3 whose LCD display has a 120Hz refresh rate. We presume this may mean the Realme V11s won’t have a high refresh rate or may come with a 90Hz screen.
There is no mention of when the phone will launch but there is a good chance it will arrive this month, but before then, we expect more details will surface.
ColorOS 12 based on Android 12 is finally here. Unlike previous years, the new version of ColorOS will be available for a plethora of OPPO as well as OnePlus smartphones in the coming months.
The updated Android skin from OPPO brings a few design tweaks, some new useful features like Cross-Screen Interconnection, and bizarre additions like a Memoji clone called OMOJI. Let’s take a look at them one by one in this article.
Borderless Design
OPPO has made some changes to the overall look of its mobile operating system with ColorOS 12. The company calls it ‘Borderless Design’, at least in China.
As the name suggests ColorOS no longer uses borders for separation. Each element is placed on a translucent layer, which the firm calls ‘acrylic sheet’. Even the new icons are called ‘acrylic icons’.
1 of 3
The software now uses different shades of colors to distinguish between primary and secondary information. Further, ColorOS now follows responsive design. This means it is now compatible with different form factors, including tablets, foldables, smartwatches, smart TVs, and of course smartphones.
Inspired by iOS 14, ColorOS 12 comes with new widgets called ‘Quick View Cards’. They can be placed both on the negative (left) page as well as the home screen. Xiaomi is also testing a similar feature for MIUI.
Animations & Performance
ColorOS 12 arrives with ‘Quantum Animation Engine 3.0’. The new animation engine offers dynamic damping and extreme feedback.
In simpler words, the system now recognizes different window component elements with different mass and inertia. Hence, the swiping experience feels smooth and real.
To sustain performance, the latest version of ColorOS comes with AI Self-Smooth Engine 2.0’. The said engine reduces memory usage by 30%, reduces background power consumption by 20%, and increases battery life by 12%.
Thanks to this engine, read and write degradation is less than 5% and the aging rate stands at 2.75% with 36 months of usage.
New Features
Free Floating Window
Free Floating Window is the advanced version of FlexDrop introduced in ColorOS 11. Users can do much more with the new implementation. The windows can be now resized and moved anywhere on the screen with actions like tap and drag. It is more intuitive now.
Smart Sidebar 2.0
Smart Sidebar is one of the most useful features on ColorOS. The v2.0 brings support for smart functions depending on different usage scenarios.
For instance, the sidebar now shows an option to compare prices while shopping online, helps users identify music while listening to songs, offers a real-time translation option when playing foreign language videos, and displays a read-aloud function when reading something.
Shared Atlas 2.0
Users can now share multiple images at a time to devices from any brand. This feature is similar to ‘Link Sharing’ found on Samsung One UI.
Selected images will upload to the cloud and a WeChat applet is generated. The link for this applet can be shared with ColorOS as well as non-ColorOS users to deliver the pictures.
Cross-Screen Interconnection
Cross-Screen Interconnection is OPPO’s version of HUAWEI Multi Screen Collaboration. Users can simply drag and drop to share files between their PC and smartphone at a maximum speed of 45MB/s. This feature also enables screen mirroring with controls, clipboard sharing, and screenshot sharing.
Minimum requirements for this functionality include a computer running Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit powered by at least a 2.4GHz Intel Core i3 processor paired with 8GB RAM. The PC also requires a minimum of Bluetooth 4.1 and WiFi Direct.
OMOJI
OMOJI is nothing but a copy of Apple Memoji. OPPO is the latest Android OEM to introduce its own digital avatars for users after Samsung AR Emoji and Xiaomi Mimoji.
OMOJIs can be used in video calls, AOD (Always On Display) styles, and more. This feature is currently in the development stage and will be available with the stable version of ColorOS 12.
Car+
As the name suggests, this feature is similar to Apple CarPlay and Google Assistant Driving Mode. It offers navigation, calls, music, video, and voice control.
Security & Privacy
ColorOS 12 sports new privacy features from Android 12. Hence, it comes with features like ‘Privacy Dashboard, ‘Approximate Location’, and notifications for camera, microphone, as well as clipboard access.
There are also additional features like ‘Notification Smart Anti-Peepeing’, which hides notifications from others and media sharing without metadata.
Rollout Plan
Android 12-based ColorOS 12 be available for a total of 50 smartphones from OPPO and OnePlus in China. This new software will be the third major system update for some of these eligible phones. You can learn more about the update timeline from here.
A tipster has revealed that the unreleased Sony WF-C500 earbuds have appeared on Walmart’s website and they are priced at $79.99. If the price is correct, then the upcoming Sony WF-C500 earbuds will be significantly lower than the WF-1000XM4 priced at $279. That means it may not be as outstanding as the WF-1000XM4.
The new pair of earbuds still offer some of the premia features present in the WF-1000XM4 like IPX4 splash resistance, active noise cancellation, and sufficiently decent battery life. The new offering sports a smaller design to go with the highly reduced price tag.
The SonyWF-C500 earbuds are smaller and do not have the bronze metallic bolt and offer a slightly different design. Its price is less than a third of the premium Sony WF-1000XM4, and this could draw some attention especially from exercise and gym enthusiasts. The WF-C500 can withstand splash, sweat, and even rain during outdoor workouts while retaining some degree of quality audio output. The earbuds also pack 10 hours of battery life which can be extended to 20 hours when attached to its charging case. This means that users are assured of enjoying their favorite music for the duration of their workouts.
An official announcement is still being expected at this time, although we may not be too far from that. As per the Walmart listing, the Sony WF-C500 will come in green, black, white, and orange colors although it is possible that some of these colors may not be available in some regions. It is also unclear whether there will be global availability of the device, or it will only be available in select regions.
Huawei will be holding another edition of its developer conference this year. The tech giant has revealed the date the event will kick off as well as details about attendance.
The Huawei Developer Conference 2021 is scheduled to begin on October 22 and will run through October 24. The annual event can be likened to Huawei’s version of Google I/O with announcements on new software developments and updates for its developer community.
Huawei has begun selling tickets for the event. Pricing for the tickets starts at ¥198 (~$665) for an ordinary one and goes up to ¥4298 (~$31) for a VIP one. Tickets will be available for purchase from now until October 10.
Anker has launched its latest dongle – the Nebula 4K streaming dongle. The gadget runs on Android TV and bundles a Google remote. The launch is coming after it was predicted earlier this year that this was already in the works. The use of the Android TV dongle has been on the increase in recent times, and Anker will hope to tap from this surge with the release of the Nebula 4K streaming dongle.
The design of the Nebula Android TV dongle reveals the absence of a built-in cable. However, it offers a micro-USB port for power and an HDMI port for display. The ports are located on the two sides of the dongle. The package includes the dongle, the remote, a micro-USB cable, an HDMI cable, a power brick, as well as two AAA batteries for the remote.
The Google remote uses Google’s G10 reference design which is quite impressive. The shortcut buttons on the device are for YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+. The Nebula Android TV dongle has 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It runs on Android 10 and supports HDR, 4K, and HDMI 2.1 output. The audio output of the device is compatible with Dolby Digital Plus audio.
While we are in the dark of the processor powering the Nebula Android TV dongle, it could be on the high end of the spectrum, as the price of the new product is higher than its competitors.
The Nebula TV dongle is already on sale via Amazon with a price tag of $89.99. Some of the current models available in the US market with similar specs are priced as low as $29. Even the Chromecast which has the upgraded Google TV UI is sold at $49. It remains to be seen how Anker hopes to catch the attention of the consumers with this fairly pricey offering.
The OPPO Watch 2 was launched a few months ago as a successor to the Chinese manufacturer’s first smartwatch, the OPPO Watch. And just as OPPO did with the first-gen wearable, it has announced an ECG version of the new watch called the OPPO Watch 2 ECG Edition.
The OPPO Watch 2 ECG Edition has a 1.91-inch 3D AMOLED display that is housed in a 316L stainless steel case, sapphire glass, and a ceramic back. OPPO says the watch has three different straps – a breathable fluorine rubber strap with grooves, an Italian leather strap, and a magnetic strap with two clasps and buckles.
Inside the watch is an ECG sensor with millisecond detection. The watch also has 24-hour irregular heart rhythm monitoring and will alert the wearer once it detects an irregular heart rate. The smartwatch comes with an Sp02 sensor that also tracks blood oxygen levels during sleep.

OPPO claims the battery life can go up to 16 days depending on the mode.
OPPO has put a price tag of ¥2499 (~$387) on the OPPO Watch 2 ECG Edition. It is already available for pre-order in China.

The official website of e-commerce giant GearBest has been offline for more than a week now. This has left several persons who rely on the website for their e-commerce needs in the lurch. There are even reports of buyers whose products are yet to be shipped to them before this sudden shutdown of the website. Perhaps, the worse hit segment is GearBest affiliate marketers, some of whom have thousands of dollars of unpaid affiliate earnings.
The present situation has been a long time coming. In June this year, a case was filed in Guangdong Province court, categorized as a bankruptcy review. The applicant was the Shenzhen Nanshan sub-branch of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Co., Ltd., while the respondent is Shenzhen Globalegrow E-Commerce Co., Ltd, GearBest parent company.
Shenzhen Globalegrow E-commerce Co., Ltd (also known as Globalegrow or Global Tesco) was founded in 2007 with its headquarter in Nanshan District Shenzhen. The GearBest brand opened shop in 2014 and since the establishment of the platform, the brand has been committed to providing overseas consumers with more abundant products and high-quality services. Gearbest has been online in 23 countries with roughly 50.98 million registered users, and an average monthly visit volume of 234 million.
GearBest’s growth was backed by the strong overseas warehouse network and supplier resources of its parent company, Global Tesco. The company grossed 3.64 billion yuan ($550 million) in 2015. Since then, it has been a roller-coaster ride until the last few years. The parent company is in a deep financial pit and a few days back, a video emerged of GearBest’s CEO addressing the Chinese media where he explained why the company won’t be able to pay its suppliers. In such situations, suppliers won’t be willing to continue providing products to fulfill orders. This has resulted in several complaints by consumers of excessive delay in shipments of their products.
There is no official word yet on when the website will come back online. Perhaps, if the company is able to clear up what it owes suppliers. The parent company also operated apparel sites SammyDress.com and DressLily.com which are still up and running. That leaves a glimmer of hope that GearBest may still bounce back. Also, the affiliate dashboard is still up and running but before now, it takes ages to process payment requests from affiliates. We doubt if any fresh request will be treated presently.
The Galaxy S22 series won’t launch until the first quarter of 2022 but the leaks are already pouring in a steady stream. The next-gen S series flagships will be coming with some changes, some of which are good, and others that some folks may be displeased about, such as this new info that has surfaced.
Samsung Galaxy S21’s successor expected to have a smaller battery
Lots of folks were pleased when the Galaxy S20 launched with a 4000mAh battery capacity, a significant upgrade from the 3400mAh battery inside its predecessor, the Galaxy S10. The S20 also brought along support for faster charging at 25W. A new leak has revealed Samsung is about to dial back on the battery capacity for the Galaxy S22.
According to the Dutch blog, Galaxy Club, they have found out that the Galaxy S22 will have a rated battery capacity of 3590mAh, a lower figure than the 3880mAh rated capacity of the Galaxy S21.
Seeing as the typical battery capacity of the Galaxy S21 is 4000mAh, the typical battery capacity of the Galaxy S22 is expected to be about 3700mAh.
A smaller battery capacity does sound like bad news but an earlier report disclosed that the base model of the S22 series will have a smaller 6.06-inch display which should have an FHD+ resolution. The Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 have a 6.1-inch QHD+ and a 6.2-inch FHD+ display respectively.
The Galaxy S22 Plus will also have a smaller 4500mAh battery as against the Galaxy S21 Plus’ 4800mAh. And as already revealed, the display of the S22 Plus will be smaller, measuring 6.55 inches compared to the S21 Plus’ 6.7-inch display.
In related news, Chinese leaker, Ice Universe, revealed in a tweet that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have support for 45W (10V 4.5A) fast charging. This should be good news for fans of the Ultra model considering Samsung had launched the Galaxy S21 Ultra with support for 25W fast charging instead of 45W charging support as available on the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra will retain the 6.8-inch display size of the S21 Ultra as well as its 45W battery capacity when it arrives next year.
