Those looking to buy the more affordable base version of the OnePlus 9 Pro might be disappointed to hear that the company might not launch this particular variant in the United States due to some “unforeseen” issues.
According to an AndroidPolicereport, the Chinese smartphone maker will apparently not launch the base 9 Pro model in the US. While the brand had initially stated that the base version of the Pro model was still on the way and there were certain delays due to supply issues, it seems that this might now be the case anymore. In other words, supply issues might make it difficult for the firm to launch this model in the US and Canadian markets.
In a statement, the company said that “The OnePlus 9 Pro 8×128 GB variant was originally set to be sold in North America for $969. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen supply constraints specific to North American devices, we recently concluded it is no longer possible to bring this configuration to the United States and Canada. In North America, we are prioritizing the 12×256 GB version to ensure our users have access to the highest spec device.”
So as of right now, the only 9 Pro model available in the US and Canada is the more expensive 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage variant that is priced at 1,069 US Dollars. Although, for those on a budget, the OnePlus 9 is still a decent alternative to the Pro variant, since it does arrive with a price tag that is more than 300 US Dollars cheaper. So stay tuned for more, as we will be providing updates when additional information is available regarding this matter.
Earlier today (15th July 2021), OnePlus India announced that it would be joining hands with Lionsgate Play. This strategic partnership will enable it to offer access to the vast global content library of Lionsgate for its OnePlus TV users.
The move is beneficial to both firms, as the streaming platform can expand its user base while the Chinese consumer electronics maker will be able to offer a better selection of content to its customers. Furthermore, the curated content from across the globe from Lionsgate Play will now be available on all OnePlus TVs, which also includes the newly launched TV U1S. Notably, the Lionsgate Play platform will also be easily accessible on OxygenPlay, which is the content discovery platform of the smartphone brand.
Through the Lionsgate Play partnership, users can expect to see academy award winning movies, box office hits, and local titles as well. This will also include content that will be available in six different languages in India, namely Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Kannada, and Bhojpuri. Few titles that are breaking all consumption records on our platform are Hunter Killer, Angel Has Fallen, Normal People, The Girlfriend Experience, John Wick 3, Love Island among others.”
A new report has revealed that the CPU configuration on the upcoming Apple A15 Bionic chipset will be similar to the one seen in the last generation’s A14 Bionic chipset.
According to a WccFTechreport, the upcoming processor from the Cupertino based giant will arrive with a similar CPU configuration that we have seen before. Although, this new iteration will likely arrive with improvements to its performance and power efficiency. While the A15 Bionic will arrive with various improvements, it will still sport the same number of cores in the CPU, which is 6. However, the notable difference in the new chipset is that it will be made on the N5P node from TSMC.
For those unaware, the A14 Bionic was built on a 5nm process from TSMC, but the upcoming node is expected to offer certain improvements over the 5nm architecture. This also implies that the Cupertino based giant has yet to shift towards the 4nm process this year. Looking at the A14, it featured two high performance cores paired with four power efficient cores, so we can expect the A15 to follow a similar layout.
Meanwhile, another report (Via Bloomberg) has also revealed that Apple is raising production for its iPhone 13 series by 20 percent over its predecessors. Usually, the brand targets around 75 million units for the initial run of its iPhone’s launch till the end of the year. But robust sales of the iPhone 12 series have apparently led to Apple asking its suppliers to build as many as 90 million units of the 2021 iPhone, as it expects 5G to become a standard that would push its users for an upgrade.
Remember how OnePlus first launched its smartphones with an invite system during its initial years, well, Nothing is following a similar unique system to offer people a chance at buying their product. But rather than an invite system, the firm is starting an auction for those that can’t wait to get their hands on the new truly wireless earbuds. For those unaware, the hearables in question are the Nothing Ear (1) TWS earbuds.
While the earbuds are set to launch on 27th July 2021 in various regions, the company is hosting an auction for the first 100 pairs of ear (1) true wireless earbuds. These earphones will be auctioned on DropX at 9 AM ET on Monday and are clearly aimed at enthusiasts that seek to buy the product before anyone else. While the first 100 Nothing ear (1) true wireless earbuds are not a special variant and will be the same as the ones that will be sold after, the product will feature a unique engraving between 1 to 100 based on their final sale price.
As per Akis Evangelidis, Head of Marketing and Co-Founder of the startup, “We’re conducting an auction exclusively on StockX, which means our communities will have a chance to purchase Ear (1) before anyone else and also before it is fully revealed.” Similarly, StockX Chief Marketing Officer Deena Bahri added that “From sneakers and apparel to collectibles and now electronics, we are committed to bringing customers and culturally relevant brands together on our marketplace. Nothing was the perfect partner to launch our very first electronics DropX and help demonstrate how StockX connects consumers to innovative technology.”
Google has been rolling out Android 12 Beta builds for Pixels since May. Many partner OEMs have also released beta builds for some of their handsets. However, most of the software builds by partner OEMs are pure AOSP with some additions. But we all know that the final public release for these phones will come with the respective company’s Android skin. Hence, it is not surprising to learn that Xiaomi has started testing MIUI based on Android 12.
Xiaomi Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro
Xiaomi is part of the Android 12 Beta program. The company has released Android 12 Beta for four devices, namely Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11, Mi 11X Pro, and Mi 11i. Now, the firm has begun to test MIUI based on the latest version of Android for some of its phones.
According to Xiaomiui (via PiunikaWeb), Xiaomi has started testing Android 12-based MIUI builds for the following smartphones.
Mi 11 Ultra
Mi 11 Pro
Mi 10 Ultra
Mi 10 Pro
Mi 10
Mi 10T Pro
Mi 10T
Redmi K30S Ultra
The firm started testing the upcoming version of Android with MIUI for the Mi 11 Ultra and the Mi 11 Pro last month itself. Anyway, the tests for the remaining handsets began only recently.
Unfortunately, it’s not known whether Xiaomi is working on Android 12 with MIUI 12.5 or MIUI 13. Hopefully, it’s the latter as users can get the next iteration of MIUI as well as Android together.
ZTE has been working on its second-generation under-display camera smartphone — ZTE Axon 30 as a successor to Axon 20 5G. It has now been officially confirmed by the company to soon get launched in its home market China.
Ahead of the launch, the firm has started teasing features of the upcoming phone. Today, the company has shared a new teaser poster on Weibo that reveals details about the phone’s build material and technology used.
It claims that the ZTE Axon 30 uses seven layers of high-transmittance materials, three layers of special technology, and offers stronger light transmission. Prior to this, ZTE had revealed that the device will come with a 120Hz refresh rate and offer 400PPI pixel density.
In a recent teaser video, the company showcased the smartphone with minimal bezels and a higher screen-to-body ratio as it aims to offer a true full-screen experience to uses. It has already been confirmed that the phone will feature ZTE’s second-generation under-display camera technology which was demonstrated a few months ago at Mobile World Congress Shanghai.
This new technology is touted to have significant upgrades and improvements over the first generation. ZTE said its team of engineers has gone through difficult research to effectively eliminate glare and diffraction from the material. It can effectively eliminate the adverse effects of foggy surfaces, ensure that the picture is bright and transparent, and intelligently adjust the exposure.
So far, not much is known about the phone’s specifications but it’s speculated to come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. There’s a possibility that the company may opt for a different processor. The device is expected to run Android 11 with ZTE’s new MyOS interface on top. We expect to know more details about this upcoming smartphone in the coming days.
Google has released the latest Android 12 Beta 3 which offers some new features. Along with that, the company has also rolled out the update for the Android TV platform as well with some interesting additions.
The Android 12 Beta 3 update for Android TV focuses on improving user interface elements when viewing the interface on the 4K TVs. Till now, the main interface was only rendered in 1080p and when selecting something to watch, it switches to 4K, causing some “lag.”
The new update brings new background blurring tools for developers to “easily enhance the visual separation of different UI layers.” There’s also a new refresh rate setting for a “smoother viewing experience.” Applications can also check playback settings and change the frame rates based on what’s being viewed.
Another major feature coming with this new build is related to privacy control. Google is now implementing microphone and camera indicators that appear on TV. These are basically the same indicators found on smartphones when an app uses a camera or microphone. This feature is for those who don’t want the microphone or a connected camera always being active.
The Android 12 Beta 3 release for Android TV is now available on Google’s own ADT-3 dev kit. As usual, there’s no indication from the company about when the actual Android TV devices will be upgraded to Android 12 in the future.
Google has also released the third beta of Android 12 for smartphones, which brings features like scrolling screenshots, enhanced auto-rotate, and more. It looks like the company is getting close to the official launch and the stable version of Android 12 could be released soon for all the users.
WhatsApp has web support but using this version requires you to connect using a smartphone and it needs to be powered on and connected. Now, the company has released a new beta that brings support for multi-device without the need for a phone.
This is one of the most anticipated features and a couple of months ago, the company’s executives talked about the feature being in development. If you are interested to check it out, you can enroll yourself by following the procedure described by the company. For using this, you will need to be on the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android or iOS.
The company says that it has developed new technologies that ensure that even on multiple devices, messages sync while maintaining end-to-end encryption. It adds that each message is individually encrypted using the established pairwise encryption session with each device. Also, messages are not stored on the server after they are delivered.
It solves one of the major issues of the WhatsApp Web version — requiring a phone to be connected all the time. The company says that by requiring the phone to perform all operations, companion devices are slower and frequently get disconnected, especially when the phone has a poor connection, its battery is running low, or the application process gets killed by the phone’s operating system.
It also allows for only a single companion device to be operative at a time, meaning people can’t be on a call in Portal while checking their messages on their PC. The new WhatsApp multi-device architecture developed by the company removes these hurdles and it no longer requires a smartphone to be the source for everything and still keeps user data seamlessly and securely synchronized and private.
However, not everything is working at this stage. The company has shared a list of features that are currently not working with the beta version of multi-device support.
Viewing live location on companion devices.
Pinning chats on WhatsApp Web or Desktop.
Joining, viewing, and resetting group invites from WhatsApp Web and Desktop. For these functions, you’ll need to use your phone.
Messaging or calling someone who is using a very old version of WhatsApp on their phone won’t work from your linked device.
Calling from Portal or WhatsApp Desktop to linked devices that aren’t enrolled in the multi-device beta.
Other WhatsApp accounts on your Portal won’t work unless those accounts have joined the multi-device beta.
WhatsApp Business users can’t edit their business name or labels from WhatsApp Web or Desktop.
Currently, there’s no specific date for when the company is planning to roll out this feature to all users. The firm is initially rolling out this feature to its existing beta users. Over the coming months, it plans to start adding it as an opt-in beta feature for a small number of users on stable versions of the app.

Recently, a Samsung phone with model number SM-A127F / SM-A127M was spotted at the Bluetooth SIG certification site and Samsung Philippines support site. A recent leak claimed that it will debut as a new chipset variant of the Galaxy A12. The existing A12 is powered by the Helio P35 chip, but its new variant is expected to feature the Exynos 850 SoC by Samsung. Fresh findings from Google Play Console and Google’s Supported Devices list suggest that the device may debut as the Galaxy A12s.

In the Google Supported Devices list, the SM-A127F/M handset is mentioned with the Galaxy A12 marketing name, and they are listed as “a12s” in the device column. Since the South Korean company is already selling a phone with the Galaxy A12 name, it is likely that the upcoming device could be called the Galaxy A12s.
The Galaxy A12s Google Play Console listing reveals that it features an HD resolution supporting display and Exynos 850 chipset. The Soc is coupled with 3 GB of RAM, and it runs on Android 11 OS. The listing further mentions that it has a fingerprint scanner. Probably, it could be integrated with the power button of the device.
