Huawei’s China-exclusive Maimang series may be getting a new model in the near future. According to a new leak, the phone, which will launch as the Maimang 10 SE will be a mid-range 5G phone with a Snapdragon 480 5G processor.
The source of the leak is the Weibo user “菊厂影业Fans”, and he revealed in a Weibo post some of the key specs of the phone. According to him, the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 480 5G, the same processor inside the Moto G Stylus 5G and the OnePlus Nord N200 5G.
The display of the phone is 6.5-inches and it will have a waterdrop notch for the front-facing camera and a refresh rate of 60Hz. For its cameras, the Huawei Maimang 10 SE will have three sensors on the back that include a 13MP main sensor, a 2MP depth camera, and a 2M macro camera. It will also have an 8MP front-facing camera.
Huawei will ship the Maimang 10 SE with a 5000mAh battery and it will also have support for 22.5W fast charging, allowing users to recharge the battery faster than a number of other phones such as the newly launched Vivo Y12A which has the same battery capacity but only supports 10W charging.
Other features mentioned include support for dual-mode 5G, eye comfort protection, smart vision, an easy/basic mode, and even an ebook mode. Unfortunately, no details about its price and launch date were provided by the source.
Over the years, Xiaomi has emerged as a brand to reckon with in the smart TV market. The company has consecutively ranked as the number one in the smart TV category in China. Even in the Indian market, Xiaomi has beaten Samsung to the crown in recent times. The company has continued to expand its product offerings both on the Mi and Redmi TV fronts. Not too long after the launch of the Mi TV EA 2022 lineup, the brand is now set to launch the Mi TV 6 Series in China.
Xiaomi has disclosed on the Mi TV official Weibo channel that the TV 6 Series will be launched in China on July 28. The Weibo post also indicated that the TV will be a flagship model but will challenge the high image quality of the 10,000 yuan flagship TVs. This is also suggestive that it won’t likely carry a hefty price tag. The teaser poster also shows that the Xiaomi branding will be stamped at the front and that it will feature a flat-base stand.
The Mi TV 6 series will take over from the Mi TV 5 series which was first launched in November 2019 in China. The Mi TV 5 series utilizes a 4K QLED panel covering NTSC 108% wide color gamut. We expect this upcoming model to also feature Samsung’s premium QLED panels.
Unfortunately, there is no other detail about the Mi TV 6 series at the moment. But as for the price, the Mi TV 5 model starts at 2,999 Yuan (~$428). We equally expect the new TV 6 series starting price to be around that region.
When the Galaxy Book Go was announced, I hoped (maybe even prayed) for Samsung to launch a Chrome OS version – the same specs but just a different operating system. Now, Samsung has listed the Galaxy Chromebook Go on its website but it’s not what I want or rather, expected.
The Galaxy Chromebook Go hasn’t yet been officially announced yet but its specs have been published.
With respect to its design, the Chromebook has a dull white exterior, although Samsung calls it silver. However, the inside is entirely black, down to its keyboard. While more attractive colors would have been appreciated, this does not look bad. Considering this is an entry-level model, the body is definitely made of polycarbonate.
Coming to its specs, the Galaxy Chromebook’s display is a 14.0-inch TFT HD screen with a 1366 x 768 resolution. It has a 180º hinge but it isn’t a touch display.
Samsung has opted for the Celeron N4500, one of Intel’s new Jasper Lake processors announced earlier this year. It has a 6W TDP which should translate to low power consumption and incredible battery life.

Galaxy Chromebook Go
Samsung will offer the Galaxy Chromebook Go in 4GB and 8GB LPDDR4X RAM versions with 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of eMMC storage. Thankfully, there is a MicroSD card slot if you need more storage. There are also two USB-C ports, a USB 3.2 port, a Nano security slot, and a headphone plus microphone combo jack. The LTE version will have a Nano-SIM slot.
The Galaxy Chromebook Go also Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, a 720p webcam, and stereo speakers. It packs a 42.3Wh battery that charges via a 45W Type-C charger.
We expect a proper announcement along with details of pricing and availability will be made soon. However, if we were to take a guess, this should start at under $350 for the base model, maybe even $299 considering the display is an HD panel and the base model has 32GB of storage. The LTE version, most likely limited to the model with more RAM and storage will definitely be close to $400 or higher.

Samsung expects to dominate the gaming monitors segment with these new offerings of the Odyssey 2021 lineup.
The Odyssey G50A is a 27-inch model and comes below the G70A in terms of functionalities and cost. However, it still supports several of the premium gaming specifications that are increasingly required for any standard gaming monitor. It also has a decent refresh and response rate.
The lower end of the Odyssey lineup is the Odyssey G30A variants, which sport a 27-inch and 24-inch screen respectively. Both models are capable of supporting basic gaming functions at a pretty decent refresh and response rate as well.
The lineup of the 2021 Odyssey gaming monitors also provides some ergonomic features that are aimed at giving users a comfortable and refreshing gaming time using the models. The ergonomic stands will ensure better physical positioning without the risk of back and other injuries.
In Korea, the Odyssey G70A will sell for 950,000 won (~$839) while the G50A goes for 650,000 won (~$574). The two variants of the Odyssey G30A will be sold for 315,000 won (~$278) and 275,000 won (~$243), respectively.

The co-founder had revealed the detail in a response to a post made by a Weibo user who made a video talking about his experience with the OnePlus 5. According to the individual, even though he has been using the OnePlus 5 for four years, he says the experience is still smooth.
Pete Lau had commented on the user’s post and revealed that even the OnePlus One, the brand’s first smartphone, released in June 2014, still has 300 active users.
While that figure is just a fraction, there is a high chance there are a lot more OnePlus One phones still in use out there, though they are most likely running a custom ROM, which means they can no longer be recognized by OnePlus as active devices.
Both the OnePlus One and OnePlus 5 have stopped receiving software support as they have reached the end of life. However, with custom ROMs and proper maintenance, there are still users of both devices.
Do you own a OnePlus One or OnePlus 5 phone? Let us know in the comment box below. Also, share with us the longest duration you have used a phone for and what device it is.
Chinese EV maker NIO‘s premium all-electric sedan the NIO ET7 has emerged as one of the recipients of the 2021 Red Dot Product Design Award. The Red Dot honor is coming for the ET7 barely six months after the unveiling of the electric vehicle.
The NIO ET7 was launched with much pomp and fanfare in January 2021 and features loads of innovative safety, entertainment, and comfort functionalities, as well as many smart features. The Red Dot Award is the fourth garnered by NIO since 2020 when it nicked the first award for its innovative digital assistant NOMI. The other awards were for its charging infrastructure (Power home and Power Swap).
In a press release, NIO’s Vice-President of Design, Kris Tomasson said that the Red Dot accolade is a recognition of the innovation and strong design philosophy that embodies the NIO brand. According to Tomasson, the NIO ET7 is a perfect reflection of the company’s design philosophy: Driven by Design. The sleek exterior of the ET7, interior ambiance, digital cockpit, autonomous driving, and value-added features combine to make the car an all-round premium sedan. The ET7 also boasts a range of over 1,000 km on a full charge.
NOI began operations in 2014 with a mission to produce high-performance smart electric vehicles. It had consistently grown it’s repertoire of sedans and SUVs over the years. The brand’s design philosophy is driven by diverse R&D teams as well as manufacturing plants spread across China, the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom. The award, coupled with a massive surge in sales of its electric vehicles shows that NIO has established its niche as a trailblazer in fast autonomous electric vehicles. The brand is also looking to expand its market base.

There are credible indications that Xiaomi will be upping the stakes soon in the accessories market by unveiling a fast-charging device that uses sound to charge smartphones and other electronic devices. This much can be gotten from the recent application for a patent filed by the Chinese company at the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). The CNIPA filing revealed some essential details about the revolutionary charging system. The implications of this new technology, when it finally debuts, are pretty exciting.
The market has been awash with various innovative charging solutions from several manufacturers in recent times. From fast wired charging to wireless charging solutions, the list has been rising as companies seeming to pursue the development of an ultimate charging solution.
Although this innovative sound charging technology from Xiaomi could take years before it becomes a reality, the filing indicates some level of progress in developing sound charging technology. The device will deploy sound and other components to provide power for charging smartphones and other devices. It will consist of a sound charging device (that will be capable of collecting sound), an energy storage apparatus, and an electronic device.
The device will have a mechanism for converting sound energy to electrical energy to charge connected devices. It will first convert the sound wave to mechanical vibration before transforming it to electrical power, the patent document reveals. There would be an interface to convert the generated alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC), which could then be used to charge devices without using a power socket.
Industry watchers see the move by Xiaomi in registering this patent as ambitious, as the requisite technology for sound charging is, at best, at its infancy. We await further definitive moves by the Chinese company as it seeks to break new ground in charging solutions for smartphones and other electronic devices.
Just last week, Spotify announced Greenroom, its own version of Clubhouse. Now, it is Facebook’s turn as it rolls out its own version dubbed Live Audio Rooms, starting with the US, alongside other audio tools and features.
Live Audio Rooms begins rolling out first as a test to public figures and groups but should be available to everyone by summer according to Facebook. There are about 1.8 billion people using Groups every month, so these are those who will get it first. Public figures such as Russel Wilson, and Olympic medalist, Nastia Liukin, who get the feature will also be able to host conversations with other public figures, experts, and fans. Facebook has also revealed that it plans to bring Live Audio Rooms to Messenger this summer so users can hang out with their friends there too.
Live Audio Rooms isn’t the only audio product Facebook has announced. It has also unveiled a number of tools and services such as Soundbites which it describes as a new social audio format. With some really impressive audio tools that allow you to record in a noisy background such as on the streets without the noise being audible when you are done and other tools such as speech-to-text and voice morphing, users will be able to make creative audio clips on their devices which they can share on Facebook. Think of this as TikTok but for audio.
Facebook is also bringing Podcasts to the social media platform for longer stories and conversations. Users will be able to listen to their favorite podcasts and discover new ones within the Facebook app while using it and even when it is running in the background.
With respect to monetization, users will be able to support their favorite creators through what is called “Stars” or donations to causes they care about. Another option is to allow hosts to charge for access via single purchases or subscriptions.
Earlier this year, Xiaomi revived the MIX series with the launch of its first-ever foldable smartphone. The company is reported to launch yet another MIX series device in the second half of 2021. The codename of this handset has been now revealed by a reliable leaker.
Xiaomi Mi MIX Alpha
Last month, Digital Chat Statio exposed that Xiaomi is set to launch two new high-end smartphone switch model numbers K8 and J18S respectively. The former is said to a regular MIX phone (Mi MIX 4), whereas the latter is expected to be a MIX foldable handset.
Over a month later, the tipster says that the alleged Mi MIX 4 with model number K8 is codenamed Odin. For those unaware, Odin is the king of Gods in Greek Mythology.
It is not the first time Xiaomi is using codenames based on characters from Greek Mythology. The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is called Ares (god of courage and war).
According to previous reports, the so-called Mi MIX 4 will be the first Xiaomi phone with an under-display camera, which is also known as UPC (under panel camera). It is said to cost more than the Mi 11 Ultra, which is the company’s most expensive regular smartphone to date.
What are your thoughts on the upcoming Mi MIX 4 (tentative name)? What are the features you expect from this phone? Do let us know in the comment section below.
ZTE announced the Axon 30 Pro and Axon 30 Ultra in China. Fresh information reveals that the company is planning to launch another Axon 30 series phone. This device will arrive with an in-screen camera.
Earlier today, ZTE’s Director for Consumer Experiment Department Lu Qianhao took to Weibo to reveal that there is a new Axon30 under-screen camera version in work. The word Cancer seems to be hinting at the period between June 22 and July 22, which belongs to the Cancer Zodiac sign.
At present, there is no information on the specs of the Axon 30 under-screen camera version. Probably, it could be equipped with specs similar to the Axon 30 Pro and Ultra.
The Axon 30 Pro and Ultra feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED FHD+ display. These handsets are powered by the Snapdragon 888, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The Axon 30 Pro and Axon 30 Ultra have a 16-megapixel front camera. The rear camera system of the Pro model features a 64-megapixel main camera, a 64-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 5-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The Ultra model has a 64-megapixel main lens with OIS, a 64-megapixel lens, a 64-megapixel ultrawide snapper, and an 8-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with OIS and 5x optical zoom support.
The Axon 30 Pro is backed by a 4,200mAh battery that supports 55W fast charging. On the other side, the Ultra model has a bigger 4,600mAh battery with 65W rapid charging.
Earlier this week, Xiaomi made a new account on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website, for a new department. The new unit in question is its very own movie studio, which has been dubbed as Xiaomi Studios.
As the name suggests, the new movie studio from the Chinese tech giant will aim on exploring content creation. In this announcement, the company also shared that it will also be launching its XIAOMI CREATOR program on the social media platform. Smartphone cameras performance have become increasingly more advanced with each passing year. So, it seems like the company is bringing this to the forefront with the new studio to highlight its capabilities.
Similarly in the past, Apple has used its iPhones to produce short films like the “Three Minutes,” which was shot in China. Now, it seems like Xiaomi is also following this example but expanding upon this idea. While smartphone cameras are not as powerful as as dedicated movie camera, they still offer users a cheaper and more accessible option for photography and videography. Many have already used their handsets for shooting movies or similar projects, so the smartphone maker’s new studio might aim to bring more opportunities to these content creators.
In other words, we might soon see some short films from the Chinese brand. The finer details regarding the new studio and the Creator program are currently unknown but more news should surface soon. So stay tuned for more, as we will provide updates when additional information is available regarding this matter.
LG has just patented a new Rollable OLED TV, which features a side rolling screen. While the company has showcased rollable television in the past, this TV is unique thanks to its dual sided rolling mechanic on its screen.
According to a LetsGoDigitalreport, the South Korean tech giant was awarded a design patent by The Hague International Design System. This patent was titled ‘Television with rollable display.’ In its rolled up form, the television resembles a shape of an elongated speaker, which has rounded sides. The device houses the display on either side that can be pulled out. When pulled out, the display unfurls out from the two housing units.
The company has already showcased the LG Signature OLED TV R, which has its rollable display roll out from a base. But unlike this model, this rollable TV is more compact and has a triangular housing that extends horizontally rather than vertically. Looking at the design sketches from the rear, it can be observed that this display is supported by a T shaped frame. Unfortunately, finer details like the size of the screen and its resolution is currently unknown at the moment. Although, it does appear to have a 16:9 aspect ratio along with an OLED panel.
Notably, this design has the patented LG Rollable OLED TV resemble the TCL CSOT rollable TV, which was demonstrated in October 2020. As of right now, it is unknown if the company is actually working on such a TV or is just covering all bases. However, it does offer us a look at a futuristic and compact rollable TV that could even be portable.
Earlier this month, XDA shared an image of Infinix’s upcoming 160W charger Last week, it shared a render of a mysterious Infinix smartphone that may arrive with support for 160W charging. Today, the company rolled out the first teaser of the mysterious handset that is equipped with blazing-fast charging technology.
There are a few flagship phones in the market that carry support for 120W charging, which is currently the industry’s fastest wired charging solution. Phone with 120W charging can fully charge a 4,000mAh battery phone in around 15 minutes. At present, none of the flagship phones with 120W charging solution are available outside China.
Infinix’s 160W fast charging technology may allow users to charge a phone in less than 10 minutes. Hopefully, the company will soon confirm more details about its 160W charging solution.
Coming to the mysterious phone teased in Infinix India’s tweet, it seems to be flaunting a curved edge display. It is not clear whether the teased phone is the same device that is shown in the leaked render below.
The leaked render shows that it could be featuring an OLED punch-hole display with extremely curved edges and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. It has a large-sized primary lens on the back, and it is equipped with a volume rocker, a power key, a speaker grille, a USB-C port, and a SIM card tray around the edges.
This handset is expected to come with support for 160W fast charging. Hence, it appears that it could be a high-end or a flagship model from the brand.
Xiaomi has been selling smart TVs in India since 2018. However, the company does not offer a single accessory for any of its televisions. Over three years later, the Chinese tech giant is finally set to introduce its first accessory for its smart TVs in the form of Mi TV Webcam.
Xiaomi Mi TV Webcam
Xiaomi has officially confirmed to launch Mi TV Webcam in India on June 24. The company has even revealed some of its features. Additionally, everything about this product has also been exposed by a tipster.
According to Xiaomi, the upcoming Mi TV Webcam will support Full HD (1080p) video streaming. The accessory will sport dual far-field microphones with 3D noise reduction technology. Lastly, it will have a clip for sturdy grip and a camera shutter for privacy.
Further, as per Yogesh, this accessory is the same as the OnePlus TV Camera. It is an ODM product made by Seevo. The only difference between the two is the branding on the privacy shutter.
Hence, the remaining features include a USB Type-C port, magnetic clip for attachment, and support for Google Duo. But unfortunately, the compatible Mi TV and Redmi TV models are a mystery as of now.
Last but not least, the leakster says that the product will retail for under ₹2,500 in India. For comparison, the OnePlus TV Camera costs ₹2,499.
After a sabbatical of few years, Micromax returned to the Indian smartphone market last year in November with two handsets such as Micromax IN 1b and Micromax IN Note 1. In March, it unveiled the Micromax IN 1 handset. The Indian brand is aiming to rival popular Chinese smartphone companies in the country by launching aggressively priced phones. A fresh Geekbench listing (via) suggests that the next Micromax phone could be called Micromax IN 2C.
The Geekbench listing of the Micromax IN 2C shows that is powered by the Unisoc T610 chipset that clocks at 1.82GHz. The SoC is coupled with 4 GB of RAM and the device runs on Android 11 OS.
In the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench, the IN 2C scored 347 and 1,127 points, respectively. The IN 1 and 1B phones are powered by the Helio G35 chip, whereas the IN Note 1 features the Helio G85 chip. It is likely that the IN 2C could be positioned lower than the IN 1B, which is currently selling for Rs 8,999.
The Micromax IN 2C could be India’s first phone to feature the Unisoc T610 phone. The Honor Play 20 is the only other T610 powered phone from a mainstream brand. The Play 20 was announced in April in China.
The Geekbench appearance suggests that the company could be internally testing the performance of the IN 2C before its official announcement. Hopefully, newer reports will spill more information about the IN 2C phone in the coming weeks.
