Xiaomi launches the MIJIA Clothes Dryer that can completely dry wet clothes

Spring and winter seasons are periods where clothes take a longer time to get dried after washing. As spring approaches, Xiaomi has launched a new product that will facilitate the drying of your clothes. The product is known as MIJIA Clothes Dryer 10kg, that’s because it has a 10kg carry capacity.MIJIA Clothes Dryer 10kg

MIJIA Clothes Dryer adopts heat pump drying which is capable of getting the clothes dried immediately it is washed such that it can be worn immediately. Thus, you don’t have to worry about haze, wind, and rain.

The machine doesn’t just dry the clothing by heating but adjusts the temperature based on the design of clothing material as well as the weight and other factors. Thus, it won’t make the cloth become too dry or deformed.

At the same time, MIJIA Clothes Dryer 10Kg supports 22 drying modes to fully care for different clothes. The drying mode supports dual upgrades of MCU and Wi-Fi and can be continuously updated according to user feedback.

At the same time, the built-in intelligent forward and reverse algorithm can effectively reduce the entanglement of clothes. Thus, large pieces of clothing can also be dried using the machine as long as it is within the 10kg carry capacity. The machine has a super large 118L inner tube that can meet the daily needs of a family of 4. The inner tube has a diameter of 574mm inner tube diameter making it suitable for bulky materials.

It also supports ironing, ready-to-wear, and storage with 3 levels of dry clothes adjustment, and has a wrinkle-resistant function. After drying, the inner tube is rotated intermittently to shake the clothes to avoid wrinkles, and the clothes are dried to protect the clothes.

Taking into account different usage scenarios, the MIJIA clothes dryer 10Kg, in addition to the external water outlet drainage pipe, also has a built-in large-capacity water storage box to store water. Thus, the machine can be installed in a location where there is no source f water supply.MIJIA Clothes Dryer

OnePlus to launch a webcam for its smart TVs in India: Report

OnePlus entered the smart TV market in the second half of 2019. Even after over a year, the brand’s televisions are still exclusive to India. Currently, the company sells a total of five TV models across different price segments. But it does not sell any accessories for them. Thankfully, that’s going to change with the launch of a webcam.

According to a report by MySmartPrice in collaboration with Twitter user Yogesh, OnePlus will be soon launching a webcam for its smart TVs. This product is said to have passed the prototype phase.

As per the report, the upcoming OnePlus webcam for smart televisions will be plug & play type and will also have a shutter, a microphone, and a USB Type-C port. This implementation reminds us of the recently launched TCL P725 Series TVs in India, which also come with a similar type of camera.

Unfortunately, nothing else is known about this OnePlus TV webcam except for the fact that it will not be compatible with the brand’s cheapest TV model – OnePlus TV 32Y1. That means this accessory will only work with OnePlus TV 43Y1, OnePlus TV 55U1, OnePlus TV Q1, and OnePlus TV Q1 Pro.

What are your thoughts on the OnePlus webcam accessory for its smart TVs? How much do you think it will cost? Do let us know in the comment section below.

Xiaomi was the largest Chinese smartphone brand globally in February 2021: Counterpoint

Ever since Huawei’s US ban was instated, fellow Chinese smartphone makers have been trying their best to fill the former’s void around the world. As a result, OPPO became the largest smartphone brand in China in January 2021. Now, a new report reveals that Xiaomi was the largest Chinese smartphone brand globally in February 2021.

Xiaomi Logo Branding 2021

According to Counterpoint Research (via ITHome), Xiaomi’s worldwide market share hit 13% in the month of February. This achievement made the company the largest Chinese smartphone brand globally and the world’s third-largest smartphone brand.

The first two positions were acquired by none other than Samsung and Apple with 20% and 17% market shares respectively. Whereas, Huawei’s global market share dropped to 4%.

Unfortunately, we don’t have access to the data of other brands as this information seems to have come from Counterpoint Research’s premium monthly tracker service.

Anyway, this achievement of Xiaomi was already reported by Strategy Analytics a few days back. The research firm even predicts Xiaomi to emerge as the world’s third-largest smartphone brand overall in 2021.

Xiaomi has always known for affordable handsets. But since the Huawei ban, the company has been slowly bringing its most premium offerings outside China. Currently, the firm sells almost all of its high-end phones in Europe where Huawei once had a stronghold. In fact, it has even started releasing those expensive smartphones in price-sensitive markets like India as well.

TSMC Exec calls US and Europe fab expansion plans ‘economically unrealistic’

TSMC Chairman, Mark Liu, has called the plans of the US and Europe to expand their semiconductor fab capacity as “economically unrealistic,” since these plans are being carried out to meet their own needs.

TSMC

The senior official of the world’s largest contract chip maker believes that if the entire semiconductor supply chain moved to the US and Europe, or if these regions plan on expanding their capacities, it would lead to the creation of a large amount of “non-profitable capacity.” He further added that the current shortage of foundry capacity across the globe is not normal, but the current capacity of the foundry industry overall should manage to satisfy any demand in normal times.

Furthermore, the executive said that the coronavirus pandemic is what fueled the sudden surge in demands for various products, which led to various companies rushing to raise semiconductor stocks. The situation is also worsened by the US-China trade frictions that have created uncertainty and changes to the supply chain. This also arrives amid the rising demand within the AI and 5G sectors, as per a DigiTimes report.

TSMC

Liu stated that TSMC has sufficient resources at the moment to meet the demand for such AI and 5G applications. Additionally, it also aware to not overbook its customers. Although, this is to be expected as the market is suffering from a period of uncertainty. The official believes that the chip maker is well experienced in differentiating its orders between those that are urgent and those that are only for extra inventory.

Samsung Galaxy S21 sales in the US twice as high compared to S20 within first 6 weeks

The Samsung Galaxy S21 series smartphone has seen strong initial sales in the US and has outperformed its predecessor, the Galaxy S20 series. Now, a new report has revealed that the base Galaxy S21 sales have doubled over the Galaxy S20 within the first six weeks of launch.

Samsung

As per a CounterpointResearch report, there were various reasons for the latest versions seeing better sales across the different models. This includes the fact that the base model started from a lower price tag of 799 US Dollars and even had strong support from US based carriers. Furthermore, the coronavirus pandemic had also hampered the initial launch phases of the Galaxy S20 series last year, which also helped boost S21 series sales in the following year.

Notably, there was also a change in the model mix and their sales, as per Counterpoint’s US Research Analyst Maurice Klaehne. The researcher noted that “There has been a significant change compared to last year in terms of the model mix, with one-third of S21 Series sales coming from the base model S21. Lower cost coupled with trade-in offers that essentially make the S21 device free, is helping increase demand for these ‘entry-level’ flagships.”

Samsung Galaxy S21 Phantom Gray White Pink Violet Featured

He further added that “Samsung also got the camera configuration on the base model right, giving it three on the rear to match up with the deluxe S21 Plus.” The report also found that most customers did not mind the plastic back, while the lack of a charging brick in the box was only a ‘mild annoyance’ to some customers and was not a deal breaker overall.

Earlier today (2nd April 2021), the Huawei Business Group announced that it is gearing up for the launch of the company’s first desktop monitor. The new monitor is simply dubbed as the Huawei Display 23.8″.

Apple iPhone SE 2022 to feature 4.7 inch LCD panel, 2023 model to sport 6.1 inch punch hole display: Leak

A new tip has revealed certain details regarding future Apple iPhone SE models. As per a new tweet, the 2022 iPhone SE model would feature a 4.7 inch LCD screen, while the 2023 version will reportedly arrive with a 6.1 inch punch hole display.

According to Ross Young (@DSCCRoss) on Twitter, a new leak has revealed that the Cupertino based giant retain the 4.7 inch LCD panel for the iPhone SE model in 2022. He further added that recent rumors have also pointed at the next year’s model being 5G enabled. At the moment, 5G networking is only supported in the latest iPhone 12 series of smartphones, but the 2022 iPhone SE might arrive with 5G support, along with sub-6GHz as well.

Apart from just the 2022 version, Ross Young also mentioned details regarding the 2023 version of the iPhone SE as well. Apparently, it has also been rumored that the 2023 iPhone SE series will have a 6.1 inch variant. Furthermore, this version would also feature a punch hole selfie camera on the display, rather than the usual notch, which is usually found on the top of every smartphone for a while now. Notably, the device featuring a 6.1 inch display is also in line with a report we had covered previously.

Apple

Unfortunately, these are all the details shared in the tweet and we do not have much to go on as of right now. Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra Indian pricing to start from over 70,000 INR ($955): Report

Xiaomi is gearing up for the launch of its latest flagship the Mi 11 Ultra in India, which will be released in India on the 23rd of April 2021. While the pricing details hadn’t officially been revealed, a new report believes that the high end model will start from 70,000 INR (roughly 955 US Dollars).

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

For those unaware, the Mi 11 Ultra from the Chinese tech giant was launched along with the Mi 11i, Mi 11 Pro, and the Mi 11 Lite 5G in China earlier this week. Shortly after this announcement, the Mi 11 Ultra also received a global launch, which arrived with top notch specifications and features. Now, a person close to the matter revealed the supposed starting price of the device to Gadgets360, with a price tag of 70,000 INR (roughly 955 US Dollars).

If the tip is true, the premium grade handset will be the most expensive smartphone from the company to ever launch in the Indian market. The region is one of Xiaomi’s most important markets after it saw explosive growth since its first arrival back in June 2014. Notably, the sources familiar with the information also revealed that the company will not be producing the Mi 11 Ultra locally initially. This would also lead to the company having to bear to import duties on its devices.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra Ceramic Black

The Mi 11 Ultra was launched in China for a price of 5,999 Yuan (roughy 67,000 INR or about 915 US Dollars) for its 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage configuration. So, the price is not a lot higher than its home market. At this price point, Xiaomi clearly aims to compete with contenders like Samsung Galaxy S21 and the OnePlus 9 Pro. While mid range and budget devices from the company are generally well received in the nation, its flagship lineup does not see similar success. So, we will have to wait and see how the latest model performs.

OnePlus 9 Pro teardown video from iFixit reveals difficult repairs

iFixit has just shared a new teardown video of a smartphone. The new video is for the OnePlus 9 Pro, which apparently could be difficult to repair and receives a 4 out of 10 score on the repairability scale.

In the video, iFixit details the breakdown process that was quite similar to the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, which also did not offer an outstanding repairability process. Just to get to the battery, the expert had to deal with various cables before they could disconnect the battery. The rear panel is also glued on with an adhesive to make it air tight.

Although, the device does have a slight edge over the Galaxy S21 Ultra as it offers two handy pull tabs on its two batteries, which makes them easier to remove. Furthermore, the OnePlus 9 Pro’s quad camera system can only be removed when the batteries are taken out. Thus, for the most part, the device’s repairability does not change in comparison to its predecessor the OnePlus 8 Pro.

iFixit concluded the teardown by saying that “Its easily removable battery and relatively modular construction are always great to see, but its glued-on rear panel is a barrier to entry and repair making matters worse. Its display requires a lot of disassembly to access and will be a pain to remove if it breaks, thanks to tenacious adhesive and curved edges.” Hence, the latest flagship from the Chinese tech giant has received a score of 4 out of 10 on the YouTuber’s repairability list, which is one point higher than the Galaxy S21 Ultra and on par with the base Galaxy S21.
