A few days ago, Xiaomi had launched its new Mi Box 4S Pro with upgraded video decoding capabilities and bigger storage support. After being made available for reservation on 5th November, the device officially goes on sale in China today for a price of 399 yuan, which is approximately $60.
The newly launched Mi Box 4S Pro comes with support for 8K video decoding, which is an upgrade compared to support for 4K decoding in the previous model. Apart from that, the HDMI interface has also been upgraded to HDMI 2.1.
Despite several upgrades on the device, its design remains the same as the Mi Box 4S. Internally, the storage capacity has now been increased from 8GB to 16GB, allowing users to store more data. This newly announced device also comes with support for DTS and Dolby Audio for an immersive sound experience.
It is expected to be powered by a 64-bit quad-core Amlogic S905X chipset with four ARM Cortex-A53 cores and Mali 450 GPU, coupled with 2GB of RAM. As for connectivity, it features support for dual-band WiFi 5, Bluetooth 4.3, a USB 2.0 port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as a power input port. In the software department, it runs MIUI for TV, which is based on Android.
It was reported in September that due to the revised US ban, Taiwan-based TSMC could not cooperate with Huawei. Hence, TSMC was unable to produce Kirin 9000 and other Kirin chipsets for the Chinese company. It was recently reported that Qualcomm has confirmed applying for a license to supply chipsets to Huawei. A fresh report by China’s 36k.com publication (via MyDrivers) has claimed that Qualcomm has been granted permission.
Huawei is known for using the homegrown Kirin chipsets to power its smartphones. The Chinese firm did not manufacture the chipsets, but it only designs semiconductors through its HiSilicon division. The actual manufacturing is carried out by TSMC. Since TSMC make use of US-made equipment for manufacturing those chipsets, it was stopped from doing business with Huawei. Hence, in August, Huawei Consumer Business CEO, Yu Richard claimed that the Mate 40 series could be the last Kirin SoC powered phones from the brand.
Recent reports have revealed that companies like Intel, AMD, Samsung Display, Sony, and others have been granted permission by the U.S. government to continue business with Huawei. Hence, there can be a possibility that TSMC may resume making chips for Huawei. Meanwhile, it appears that Qualcomm will supply chips to the Chinese firm.
According to the Chinese publication, a source close to Huawei has said that Qualcomm has already bagged a license to supply chips to Huawei. If TSMC is unable to do business with Huawei, its high-end lineup such as P-series and Mate-series could be fueled by flagship Snapdragon chipsets. There is a possibility that the Huawei P50 series arriving in Q1 could be driven by the Snapdragon 875 chipset.
There is a high demand for the recently announced Mate 40 series. However, it is mainly because of the limited availability of the Kirin 9000 chips, Huawei is reportedly unable to manufactureMate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro Plus smartphones. Hence, there are speculations that the company may temporarily sell Snapdragon 875 powered Mate 40 models.
Apart from Snapdragon chips, Huawei is also expected to launch MediaTek powered phones in the absence of Kirin chips. It was reported last week that Huawei managed to secure a big stock of MediaTek’s Dimensity chipsets before September.
Apple has launched a new Mac mini, its smallest desktop computer. The Mac mini has been an exceptional product which Apple describes as its most versatile computer. The PC is different from a regular computer in the sense that Apple offers it without an accompanying screen, keyboard or mouse. As Apple likes to say, it’s “BYODKM” (Bring Your Own Display, Keyboard, and Mouse).
The new Mac mini 2020 is equally equipped with the latest 8-core M1 chip bringing enormous firepower in terms of performance. The performance is said to be up to 3x faster than the previous generation mini. The M1 chip makes the Mac mini capable of handling swiftly demanding workloads ranging from compiling a million lines of code to building enormous multitrack music projects.
The 8-core GPU onboard the computer equally delivers up to a massive 6x increase in graphics performance, allowing the Mac mini to tackle performance-intensive tasks like complex 3D rendering with ease. ML workloads also take a quantum leap forward with up to 15x faster performance over the previous generation.
Further, despite the ultracompact design, the Mac mini is said to deliver up to 5x faster performance when compared to the best-selling Windows desktop in its price range even though the Mac mini is just one-tenth the size of other Windows desktop.
Apple’s Mac mini equally packs an advanced thermal design which helps to sustain its breakthrough performance while staying cool and quiet. It support for up to two displays including Apple’s Pro Display XDR in full 6K resolution, and Wi-Fi 6 for faster wireless performance and the Secure Enclave in M1 for best-in-class security.
The Mac Mini is presently available for just $699 which is $100 less than the previous-generation quad-core model. This is despite having a more powerful chipset and running macOS Big Sur making it far more versatile and far more capable than ever. BigSur is the latest version of Apple’s desktop operating system.
Huawei is reportedly all set to sell off its Honor sub-brand for an all-cash deal of around $15 billion. While the deal has been confirmed officially, we expect the Chinese giant to announce it by the end of this week.
Now, ahead of the official announcement from the company, some details about the possible management overhaul at the firm have been leaked online.
As per the report, after the Honor brand becomes independent from Huawei, some of the senior executives from Huawei will be joining the Honor brand. Huawei Consumer Business COO Wansao may join Honor as Chairman while the Honor President Zhao Ming will serve as the company’s CEO.
In addition to that, several other senior executives, including the head of Consumer Business Law, Audit, IT and Quality Operations have also confirmed that they will be continuing with the company even after it gets separated from Huawei.
The company is also going to retain its staff of more than 7,000 employees and it is being reported that they will be moved out from the Huawei headquarters in Shenzhen to a new office space in Futian District, Shenzhen Meilin New Generation Industrial Park 4.
Employees of the new company will have equity incentives and the company is also offering two compensation packages which include full share buyback and 1.7 times 19-year revenue compensation.
As per the previous reports, Huawei is gearing up to sell its Honor brand to Digital China Group and the Government of Shenzhen. We expect to know more about this transaction once the company makes it official in the coming days.
Apple has introduced a new-generation M1 chip for its latest Mac computers built on a 5nm process. The chipset is the US tech giant’s first ARM-based chip and brings improved performance and better battery life to its personal computers.
The new chip was unveiled alongside the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro notebooks and the Mac mini desktop computer, all of which are powered by the powerful chipset. Apple’s senior vice president of hardware technologies, Johny Srouji disclosed during the event that the company’s goal in creating the chip was to achieve “industry-leading performance and features while relentlessly focusing on performance efficiency.”
The company seems to have achieved that goal as the new M1 chip onboard the Macbook Air aids the provision of a good battery life which is said to be capable of withstanding up to 15 hours of web browsing and 18 hours of video. In terms of speed, the new processor is also touted to be three and a half times faster than the previous Intel-based model. The graphics speed also comes in five times faster, accoding to Apple.
In terms of specs, the new M1 chip has a staggering 16 billion transistors, which is significantly higher than the 11.8 billion used in the iPhone 12’s A14 Bionic. The CPU core is also increased from six to an eight-core arrangement in order to boost the performance. Additionally, the M1 has four high-performance cores for heavy-duty work, compared to two on the iPhone 12, and four high-efficiency cores for low-priority tasks.
Just like the chipsets on the iPhones and iPads, the Mac’s M1 chip features dedicated circuitry for graphics and artificial intelligence processing. These modules are linked with a unified memory architecture, eliminating the need for the PC to spend time copying data internally as it switches processing approaches. The memory chips, while separate from the brains of the operation, are housed within the same chip package alongside processor for better speed.
In September, Realme announced the Realme 7 and Realme 7 Pro smartphones in India. The Realme 7i was made official in Indonesia in the same month. A new handset with model number Realme RMX2111 has received approval from the NBTC authority of Thailand. The listing confirms that the device will be arriving in the country as the Realme 7 5G. Unlike the other phones in the series, it will be the first one to arrive with support for 5G connectivity.
The Realme RMX2111 model number belongs to the Realme V5 5G smartphone that debuted in August in China. Hence, the NBTC certification of the RMX2111 suggests that the Realme V5 5G will be rebadged as the Realme 7 5G.
The NBTC certification has no information on the specs of the Realme 7 5G. Being a rebadged phone, it is likely to borrow all its specs from the Realme V5 5G. Hence, the Realme 7 5G is expected to arrive with a 6.5-inch LCD panel with a punch-hole design. It may support a 90Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The phone could be sporting a 16-megapixel front-facing camera.
The rear side of the phone may feature a quad-camera setup that may include a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel superwide lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It may come preloaded with Android 10 OS.
Realme V5 5G
The Realme 7 5G could be driven by the Dimensity 720 chipset and a 5,000mAh battery. The phone may come with support for 30W fast charging. In China, the Realme V5 5G arrived in two options such as 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. They were priced at 1,499 Yuan (~$227) and 1,899 Yuan (~$288).

If you own a business you can create a WhatsApp business account that has additional features that a standard account doesn’t have. One of the features you get is the ability to create a catalog of the items you have for sale. A new addition now makes it easier for customers to quickly view your catalog.
Previously, users had to tap on the contacts name at the top of the chat or the overflow button to “View Contact” before accessing the catalog. Now, the developers have added a shopping button next to the call button that takes you straight to the list of items for sale. This addition reduces the number of taps users make before accessing the catalog.

The feature is already rolling out widely and if you don’t see it on your phone when interacting with a business account that has a catalog, you should go to your app store and update your app.
WhatsApp has added a number of new features for both regular and business owners in the past few months. Some of them include QR codes which make it easier to add a new contact or start a chat with a business; catalog sharing; animated stickers; the ability to expand a video during group video calls; a more advanced search that allows you to filter search results; and a new storage management tool.

Google Pixel 5 is one of the most unique phones out there. Unlike all the other last-generation devices, this handset is entirely made of recycled aluminum with the exception of the front panel. Further, it is the only waterproof phone with the IP68 certification making it waterproof up to 1.5 meters deep for a max of 30 minutes. Last but not least, it is the most compact phone and the thinnest one thanks to its smaller display and battery. But you should not underestimate the sleek OnePlus 8T coming with a glass back and an aluminum frame. The same materials used for the Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G, but the Mi 10T is thicker and heavier.
Display
The greatest display belongs to the OnePlus 8T. It has an AMOLED panel with a 6.55-inch size, 120 Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ certification, protected by Gorilla Glass 5. Right after, we got the Google Pixel 5 sporting an OLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate and HDR10+. Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G loses the comparison with its IPS panel, but it has the highest refresh rate (up to 144 Hz). With the Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G, you also get a wider 6.67-inch panel. OnePlus 8T has an in-display fingerprint reader, Google Pixel 5 has a rear-mounted sensor, and Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Hardware/Software
The most advanced hardware department is found on the OnePlus 8T. The flagship killer is powered by the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 native storage. Right after, we got the Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G which still comes with the Snapdragon 865, but it sports just 8 GB of RAM in the most expensive configuration and just 128 GB of storage. The Google Pixel 5 lags behind with its Snapdragon 765G but it will have longer software support since it is a Google phone. Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G runs Android 10 out of the box, while OnePlus 8T and Google Pixel 5 run Android 11.
Camera
If you want the most interesting camera setup, go for the OnePlus 8T which sports a 48 MP main sensor with OIS, a 16 MP ultrawide sensor, a 5 MP macro camera, and a 2 MP depth sensor. But the Google Pixel 5 is still a great camera phone with its 12.2 MP dual camera including an ultrawide sensor. With the Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G, unfortunately, you do not get optical stabilization, but it can record 8K videos.
Battery
With its huge 5000 mAh battery, the Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G has a longer battery life in a lot of scenarios. But the OnePlus 8T is still a pretty nice battery phone with its 4500 mAh unit. Google Pixel 5 is inferior but its battery life is still very nice. Further, it is the only to support wireless charging and reverse charging. With the OnePlus 8T, you get the fastest wired charging technology with 65W power.
Price
Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G is priced at €500/$590, OnePlus 8T costs €600/$710, and Google Pixel 5 has a €629 starting price. With the Google Pixel 5, you can get a complete user experience and a waterproof phone with wireless charging, as well as longer software support. But if you are a power user who seeks the best performance, you may prefer the OnePlus 8T due to its great hardware. It does not make a lot of sense to buy Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G with an IPS display and inferior cameras for just €100 less than the OnePlus 8T. But if you find interesting discounts, it might be worth going for it.
Chinese smartphone giant Honor has launched the Honor X10 Lite in Europe. This is coming on the heels of the launch in Russia earlier this year and in Saudi Arabia. The device will be available in France and Germany. It carries a retail price tag of €229.99.
As a sleek mid-ranger, the Honor 10X Lite features a 6.67-inch LCD panel with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The punch-hole that is placed at the top-center position of the screen is the home for its 8-megapixel selfie camera.
The back panel of the phone has a rectangle-shaped camera housing. It houses an LED flash, a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel superwide lens, a 2-megapixel macro camera with a 4cm focal length, and a 2-megapixel depth assist lens. The phone is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
Do bear in mind that the 10X Lite ships without GMS meaning there are no Google apps and services but it features Huawei Mobile Services. The Honor 10X Lite is powered by the older Kirin 710 chipset paired with 4 GB of RAM and there is built-in storage of 128 GB with a microSD card slot for additional storage. The handset is preinstalled with Android 10 OS that tags along with Magic UI 3.1.
The Honor 10X Lite houses a 5,000mAh battery that is equipped with support for 22.5W SuperCharge rapid charging technology and 2.5W wireless charging. It has other features such as dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The handset is available in Midnight Black, Emerald Green, and Icelandic Frost colours.

The spec sheet for the processor says it is a 7nm octa-core chipset with a 2+6 CPU core arrangement. The Dimensity 700 5G has 2x Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. The GPU is a Mali-G57 MC2 clocked at 950MHz.
The chipset also has 5G-CA (2CC), support for Dual 5G SIM (Dual SIM Dual Standby), SA and NSA modes, and MediaTek 5G UltraSave. Other features include support for UFS 2.2 two-lane storage, up to 90Hz refresh rate, up to 2520 x 1080 resolution, up to 64MP cameras, real-time bokeh in portrait previews, and night shot enhancements. It also has multiple voice assistants support, support for dual-frequency GPS, India’s NavIC, and Bluetooth 5.1.
MediaTek says the new chipset brings 5G to even more phones, so we can expect it to appear in phones priced under $250. It is expected to appear in phones, starting early next year
At the beginning of the year, Samsung had trademarked names like Galaxy A12, A22, A32, A42, A52, A62, A72, A82, and A92 for is upcoming A-series smartphones. Among these, the company has already launched the Galaxy A42 5G as its cheapest 5G-enabled smartphone. It appears that the launch date of the Galaxy A52 5G may not be far away as it has appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform.
On Geekbench 5, the Galaxy A52 5G has appeared with its SM-A526B model number. It has revealed that it has scored 298 in the single-core test and 1001 in the multi-core test. The smartphone is seen running on Android 11 OS and it has 6 GB of RAM.
The name of the processor that fuels the Galaxy A52 5G is not mentioned. Instead, the “lito” codename can be seen. Also, the base frequency of the processor is 1.80GHz. The presence of Adreno 619 graphics reveals that the device is powered by the Snapdragon 750G chipset. The Galaxy A42 5G is also driven by the same SoC.
In September, it was revealed it is equipped with a quad-camera setup that is led by a 64-megapixel primary camera. The camera module also includes an ultrawide sensor, a macro lens, and a depth assist lens, but their configurations are not known yet.
A recent report had claimed the main camera of the Galaxy A52 5G will be supplied by Samsung Electro-Mechanics. The same report had also revealed that the Galaxy A72 5G could be the first Samsung phone with a penta-lens camera setup. It is expected to feature a 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel sensor, and a 3x telephoto lens.
Samsung recently announced its budget F41 smartphone which is a first one of a possible F-series of devices. Just more than a month, and we have already been hearing news about more devices like the Galaxy F12/M12. Now, live images of what could be a prototype of Galaxy M12’s rear panel has leaked. This hints that the F12, M12 could be two distinct devices. And it certainly looks different from the design that leaked earlier.

91Mobiles, through their sources, shows us a pair of images that show the rear-panel view of the alleged Galaxy M12. Interestingly, the device has a two-tone finish, unlike the previous leak. The majority of the rear panel looks like a brushed textured finish. And a part of the rear fuselage below has a glossy paint job. Simply put, the two-tone looks something like the first Google Pixel but in reverse.
However, the camera layout is similar to a squircle design with a cut-out for four sensors inside the housing. There is also a small cut-out below probably for the LED flash. Another image, which is basically a flip-over of the rear panel, shows the model number inside. Looking at it closely, we see SM-M127F written on it. All this not only strengthens the existence of the Galaxy M12 but also reveals a unique rear-design compared to its predecessor, Galaxy M11. Anyway, let’s wait for more leaks to ascertain this claim.
Galaxy M12 Specifications(Expected)
Although it’s very early to talk about the specs of Galaxy M12, we might have a few guesses here. According to the early reports, the device might have a 6.7-inch display with a punch-hole for selfies. Additionally, it might feature a whopping 7,000mAh battery which currently exists only on the Galaxy M51 in the M series.
Also, if we look at the live shots of the prototype, there is no fingerprint sensor at the back. Considering its a budget device, we speculate that Samsung might place it at the side onto the power button. That said, Sadly, we might have to wait for a bit to know more about the specifications.
