On Sunday, Huawei confirmed that it has been a fabulous year for the company since it shipped more then 200 million smartphones. He Gang who is the President of Huawei’s smartphone division wants to thank everyone for their support and love. Hence, in order to celebrate the achievement of its new milestone, the Chinese manufacturer has announced commemorative editions of Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Huawei Nova 4. Through his official Weibo account, He Gang has shared a poster that reveals the design of these phones.
The Emerald colored Huawei Mate 20 Pro Commemorative Edition features 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage whereas the Secret Red colored Huawei Nova 4 Commemorative Edition has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The sales of these devices will begin on Jan. 1 at 10:08 AM (local time) in China. There is no information available on the price tags of these special edition models. These phone feature a log with two stars and “200 Million Huawei Mobile 2018” text on the rear.
Reports reveal that since the launch of Huawei P20 series, the global shipments of the company have exceeded 16 million units. Female users accounted nearly half of the number. The shipments of Huawei Mate 20 series that was announced in October has already exceeded 5 million units. Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is leading the Chinese smartphone market.
In 2010, the Huawei had shipped 3 million units. In 2017, it shipped 153 million units. Earlier this year, a research report by Canalys confirmed that Huawei had surpassed Apple in Q2 2018 to become the world’s second largest smartphone vendor. Currently, Huawei holds a global market share of 14.6 percent. More than 500 million people in more than 170 countries across the globe are using Huawei phones.
Huawei’s Consumer Business CEO Yu Richard has confirmed that the company has set a shipment target of 20 million units for the Huawei Mate 20 series. In 2019, it aims to increase overall shipments to 250 million units. By 2020, it will strive to ship 300 million units.
