Samsung Galaxy Ring 2 enters early development, launch unlikely in 2025

Samsung has reportedly begun early development on the Galaxy Ring 2, the follow-up to its first smart ring that debuted in mid-2024. According to GalaxyClub, the second-generation model is still in its initial stages, making a 2025 release unlikely. The device may instead arrive alongside the Galaxy S26 series next year, or possibly later.

Samsung Galaxy Ring

The delay isn’t entirely unexpected. Unlike smartphones, smart rings are compact and limited in upgradable components. Samsung appears to be focusing on iterative improvements instead of a full redesign. The company is said to be working on a slimmer profile, better sensor accuracy, and longer battery life.

Previous patent filings indicate that Samsung may implement a flexible ring design in future Galaxy Ring models, which would allow the sensors to conform more closely to the shape of the finger, potentially enhancing tracking accuracy. In addition, a newly published patent reveals that Samsung is exploring ways to turn the Galaxy Ring into a gesture-based input device. This would allow users to control other devices, such as laptops and tablets, using hand movements, expanding the ring’s functionality beyond just health monitoring.

Battery technology could play a crucial role in the next Galaxy Ring. According to a report from Korea’s Money Today, Samsung is developing an all-solid-state battery with a target energy density of 360Wh/L. This would mark a significant improvement over current lithium-ion batteries, potentially enabling longer usage without increasing the device’s size. If mass production aligns with the product timeline, this new battery could make its debut in the Galaxy Ring 2.

So far, Samsung has not confirmed any hardware features, specifications, or design elements. No major leaks have surfaced either. The company’s only recent move was a limited-edition titanium black variant of the original Galaxy Ring, which launched in South Korea as part of a promotional campaign tied to the Galaxy S25 Edge.

For now, Samsung seems to be in no hurry. Unlike phones, smart rings benefit more from meaningful hardware and ecosystem refinements than annual refreshes. If the Galaxy Ring 2 delivers better health tracking and longer battery life without sacrificing comfort, it may help Samsung secure a lead in a still-developing wearable category.

Nothing officially confirms launch date for Phone (3) – its most ambitious smartphone yet

Nothing is gearing up to unveil its most ambitious smartphone yet, the Nothing Phone (3), with an official launch date locked in for July 1. Promising premium features and a bold step into flagship territory, this device is already sparking curiosity among Nothing fans. But one big question lingers—what chipset will power this sleek new contender?

The Nothing Phone (3) is set to be the London-based brand’s most premium offering to date, moving away from its mid-range roots. Confirmed via Nothing’s official X account, the phone will hit the stage on July 1, possibly in Black and White color options. Leaks suggest a starting price of $799 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model, with the 16GB/512GB version priced at $899. That’s a hair cheaper than the OnePlus 13, positioning the Phone (3) as a serious player in the high-end market.

What’s got everyone talking, though, is the uncertainty around the chipset. Some reports, including a tweet from leaker Yogesh Brar, point to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a powerhouse seen in other 2024 flagships. But other sources claim that’s not the case, leaving the Snapdragon 8 Elite or the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 as likely candidates. The choice of processor will be key, as phones in this price range—around $799 to $899—are expected to deliver top-tier performance for gaming, multitasking, and AI-driven features.

While Nothing is keeping tight-lipped on the specs, the Phone (3) is rumored to sport a 6.77-inch LTPO AMOLED display, a triple-camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, and a 5,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. With its signature transparent design and a possible shift away from the Glyph interface, the Nothing Phone (3) is shaping up to be a bold, premium contender.

Honor Magic8 Pro could pack an extra camera – a dual periscope setup

Honor Magic 7 Pro launched in October last year, and the successor is already stirring up excitement. Fresh leaks suggest the Magic 8 Pro is aiming to redefine smartphone photography. Set to challenge the likes of Huawei’s Pura 80, the Magic8 Pro is reportedly being tested with a quad-camera system — one more camera than its predecessor. With a speculated dual telephoto setup, Honor seems ready to push the boundaries of mobile imaging.

According to Weibo tipster SmartPikachu, Honor is experimenting with four camera sensors for the Magic8 Pro, a bold step up from its predecessors. The setup is said to include a primary sensor, an ultrawide-angle lens, and—most intriguingly—two telephoto lenses, a design choice that echoes Huawei’s rumored dual periscope approach for the Pura 80. This dual-telephoto unit could give the Magic8 Pro an edge in versatility, offering superior zoom and macro capabilities.

Earlier leaks point to a 200MP periscope lens. This lens, paired with 1G+5P floating technology and a 1200-point laser radar focusing system, promises crisp, detailed shots, especially for macro photography.

Honor’s ambition doesn’t stop there. The Magic8 Pro’s camera system is expected to outshine the Magic7 series by a significant margin, which already boasted impressive macrophotography compared to Huawei’s Mate 70 Pro. By doubling down on telephoto lenses, Honor appears to be gunning for Huawei’s crown, aiming to deliver blockbuster moments with every snap. While full details on the primary and ultrawide sensors are still under wraps, the focus on advanced optics and software tweaks suggests Honor is prioritizing dynamic upgrades for sharper, more vibrant images.

With an expected launch in October 2025, the Magic8 Pro is shaping up to be a photography beast. Judging from the recent leaks, it seems Honor is betting big on camera innovation to stand out in the flagship race.

Can the Galaxy S25 Edge’s thin titanium frame survive the bend test?

When Samsung announced the Galaxy S25 Edge as its thinnest flagship smartphone, its battery life and durability immediately came into question, but once again, JerryRigEverything has a great video to satiate this curiosity. So read on to find out whether its titanium frame held up or not.

Galaxy S25 Edge is ultra slim, But Samsung plays the titanium card

Popular tech YouTuber JerryRigEverything got a Galaxy S25 Edge to go through his famous durability and bend test to check its build endurance. Samsung’s ultra slim flagship was subjected to a bunch of durability tests that involved scratching, burning, and more. However, what left even Zack Nelson surprised was how well the titanium frame held up during the best test.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Undergoes JerryRigEverything’s Bend Test

Despite the Galaxy S25 Edge measuring just 5.8mm in thickness, the device didn’t snap in half as many expected it to. Rather, there was only a slight flex when pushed to its limits. The titanium chassis employed on the Galaxy S25 Edge is definitely a big reason for its impressive structural integrity. Apart from the bend test, the video also shows that the Galaxy S25 Edge got a decent review from Zack for the scratches and burn tests.

Apple is rumored to be working on a rival to this model with the iPhone 17 Air, but it remains to be seen how this model will compare. The razor-thin iPhone could measure even thinner than the Galaxy S25 Edge with a 5.5mm body. We can expect the iPhone 17 Air to also get a similar treatment from Zack later this year, so stick around for more.

RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro design goes official before June 11 debut

RedMagic is gearing up to shake up the gaming tablet market with its latest offering, set to debut in China on June 11. The RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro is expected to go head-to-head with Lenovo’s Legion Y700 (4th Gen), and it’s already grabbing attention with its sleek design and powerful specs. This tablet is one to watch for mobile gamers craving high performance on the go. RedMagic has now unveiled the tablet’s design ahead of launch, giving us a clear look at what’s coming.

The RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro is the company’s first stab at a compact gaming tablet, and it’s not holding back. Sporting a 9-inch OLED display, it’s slightly larger than the Legion Y700’s 8.8-inch screen, but RedMagic claims it’s still small enough to slip into your pocket. The design takes cues from last year’s RedMagic Nova, with noticeably slimmer bezels for a more immersive experience.

Recent Geekbench tests show it’s packing serious power, driven by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor—matching the Legion Y700’s standard version, though not the overclocked Leading Version found in RedMagic’s 10S series. The 8,240 mAh battery outshines the Legion Y700’s 7,600 mAh unit and will potentially enable longer gaming sessions.

While this tablet is set to launch exclusively in China, there’s hope for a global release, following the RedMagic Nova’s international debut. While full specs like refresh rate and storage options are still under wraps, the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro is shaping up to be a fierce contender in the compact gaming tablet arena, ready to take on Lenovo’s latest offering.

Huawei Pura 80 leak reveals flagship level camera hardware

A Pura 80 series model was accidentally leaked by a Huawei executive a couple of days ago, which offered us a look at the massive rear camera module. Now, another recent leak has revealed details regarding camera hardware for the base Pura 80, so here’s why even the vanilla version will offer a top-tier photography experience.

Huawei Pura 80 to debut with high-end cameras

The news arrives from known tipster Teme, who shared the information on X (formerly Twitter). In the tweet, the tipster claimed that the Huawei Pura 80 packs a quad camera setup on the rear. This consists of a 50MP 1-inch main camera that has a variable aperture, along with a 50MP 1/1.3-inch secondary shooter that has a dual focal length. The ultra wide angle lens has a 40MP resolution, while the last camera is a 2MP color temperature sensor that helps enhance the color accuracy of pictures.

Huawei Pura 80
Huawei Pura 80 camera system

A typical telephoto shooter has a fixed focal length, so the two focal lengths on the secondary shooter likely allow for two different optical zooms. Teme also shared an image, which reveals an LED flash and Huawei’s XMAGE branding on the triangular shaped camera module. Last month, we covered a report regarding the Pura 80 Pro model, which is also expected to feature a SmartSens 1-inch primary shooter. Meaning, the entire lineup might offer a cutting edge photography experience.

An official teaser from the Chinese tech giant has confirmed that the Huawei Pura 80 series will launch in the brand’s home market on 11th June 2025. The company is promising a major leap in mobile imaging, and the camera hardware leak hints at this as well. Unfortunately, this is all the information that was shared, so stick around for more as we will be covering any fresh leaks and the official launch event.

This phone comes with a number of impressive features, especially for folks who want solid features without breaking the bank. With a considerably large battery and a sleek look, it’s shaping up to be a real crowd-pleaser.

Left: Black Night Owl, right: Swan White

The C71 comes with a 6.67-inch LCD screen, rocking a 720×1604 resolution and a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate. It hits 725 nits of brightness, so the screen will remain visible even in direct sunlight. Under the hood, there’s a Unisoc T7250 chip running the show, paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage—plenty for your apps, photos, and whatever else you’re hoarding. The real star here is the 6,300 mAh battery, which supports 45W SuperVOOC charging. That means you’re getting all-day power and quick top-ups.

For photos, this phone packs a 50 MP “AI Camera” on the back that promises sharp shots, and a 5 MP selfie camera up front. It’s a 4G-only device, but you still get modern goodies like NFC along with Bluetooth 5.2 and 2.4GHz / 5GHz Wi-Fi. There’s a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security and a single loudspeaker for your tunes or calls. Running Android 15 with Realme UI, it should feel fresh and easy to navigate.

Realme C71 highlights

At just 196g and 7.79 mm thick, it’s surprisingly slim for such a big battery. Plus, it’s tough—MIL-STD-810H certified to survive drops from 1.5 meters. Priced at VND 3,990,000 (around $153 or ₹13,109), with some retailers slashing it to VND 3,790,000 ($145) for the launch, the C71 feels like a value-for-money deal for what it offers.

Huawei Pura 80 Series Roundup: New Cameras, Faster Chip, HarmonyOS 5, and More

Huawei is preparing to unveil its highly anticipated Pura 80 series smartphones on June 11th. Building upon the foundation of the Pura 70 series, which launched in April 2024, the new lineup promises to bring significant advancements and upgrades.

Recent leaks have fueled anticipation among tech enthusiasts, painting a picture of what’s to come. The Pura 80 series is said to feature a more powerful chip and will debut with the new HarmonyOS 5. Enhancements are also expected in the camera system, alongside a tweaked design, signaling Huawei’s continued focus on mobile imaging and user experience.

Without further ado, let’s dive into a roundup of what we know so far about the upcoming Huawei Pura 80 series.

Alleged Huawei Pura 80 Ultra
Alleged Huawei Pura 80 Ultra in the hands of a company executive

1. Familiar Form, Enhanced Prominence

As per recent leaks and official teasers, the Huawei Pura 80 series will arrive with a slightly tweaked design, evolving the aesthetic seen in its predecessor.

The phones are expected to retain the distinctive rounded triangular (or shield-like) camera module from the Pura 70 series. However, this signature element will likely be even more of a focal point, as indications suggest the module will be bigger and therefore more prominent on the new devices.

Leaked images, particularly those purported to be of the Pura 80 Ultra, appear to confirm these design adjustments. This enlarged camera housing isn’t just for visual emphasis; the module is expected to include an advanced camera array, with some reports suggesting it could house two periscope telephoto shooters.

2. Powered by Kirin 9020 and HarmonyOS 5

The HiSilicon Kirin 9020 chip will power the Huawei Pura 80 series. Although it shares the 7nm SMIC manufacturing process with the Kirin 9010, the 9020 delivers key upgrades. Its CPU offers a faster main TaiShan V121 core at 2.5 GHz, incorporates different Taishan-Little efficiency cores, and the newer Maleoon 920 GPU is clocked higher at 840 MHz.

The Kirin 9020 also brings faster LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.0 storage, and a significant leap in connectivity with the newer Balong 6000 modem, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. AI tasks continue to be handled by Huawei’s Da Vinci NPU architecture.

On the software front, the Pura 80 series will run the HarmonyOS 5. This latest version of Huawei’s operating system brings substantial advancements, with a core focus on deep AI integration throughout the user experience, leveraging technologies like Huawei’s Pangu large language model.

HarmonyOS 5 delivers improved system fluency, refined UI aesthetics, more seamless cross-device collaboration, and a mature, independent app ecosystem, built upon the “HarmonyOS NEXT” architecture.

3. Self-developed Camera Sensor

Recent leaks, largely from tipster Digital Chat Station, point to significant camera advancements in the Huawei Pura 80 series. The Pura 80 Pro is now tipped to feature a brand new 1-inch, 50MP main sensor, potentially a Huawei-developed “SmartSens” (possibly SC5A0CS)

The Pura 80 Ultra is also expected to boast a 1-inch, 50MP main sensor, with reports suggesting Huawei is experimenting with an RYYB color filter array for it, as well as for its 1/1.31″ periscope telephoto lens. RYYB technology is known for boosting low-light performance by capturing more light. While this can present color accuracy challenges, Huawei has experience mitigating these, as seen in previous models like the Pura 70 Ultra.

Furthermore, the entire Pura 80 series is said to come equipped with variable aperture on the main sensors, offering greater control over light and depth of field.

4. Models Anticipated

The upcoming Huawei Pura 80 lineup will include the following devices.

The official launch is set for June 11 at 2:30 PM GMT+8. The event will be live-streamed on Huawei’s social channels.

One UI 8 beta coming soon to more Samsung devices

Samsung One UI 8 beta

Samsung was pretty inconsistent with the One UI 7 rollout, but things are already looking much better with One UI 8. The company has already kicked off the One UI 8 beta program, with the latest Galaxy S25 series getting the first bite — and its expansion appears to be happening a lot quicker than the previous version.

Galaxy S24, S23 series to get One UI 7 beta soon

According to tipster Tarun Vats (@tarunvats33), the Galaxy S24 series will get the first One UI 8 beta towards the end of June, but it could slip to July. The Galaxy S23 lineup could also join the beta program in early to mid-July. While it’s good to hear about the initial rollout plans, it’s wise to take them with a pinch of salt, as beta releases could always face delays due to bugs.

Samsung hasn’t officially shared its roadmap for expanding the One UI 8 beta to more devices, but there’s reason to believe things will move quicker this time. That’s because One UI 8 is a relatively minor upgrade compared to the much bigger One UI 7 release. However, it remains to be seen if the beta program will extend beyond the Galaxy S series.

Vivo X Fold 5 teased, sets new record for thinness and lightness

The Vivo X Fold 5’s teasers have started in China. Today, Vivo Product Manager for China, Han Boxiao, released the following video to tease the design of the X Fold 5. The text that appears at the end of the video claims that it sets a new record for thinness and lightness in the world of foldable phones.

Vivo X Fold 5’s first teaser released

The teaser video confirms that the Vivo X Fold 5 will be lighter than the Vivo X Fold 3, which weighs 219 grams. According to a recent report by XpertPick, the device will weigh only 209 grams and measure 4.3mm when unfolded and 9.33mm in the folded state.

Therefore, the Vivo X Fold 5 is all set to arrive as the world’s lightest foldable phone. In comparison, the Find N5, which weighs 229 grams, measures 4.2mm in thickness in the unfolded state and 8.9mm when folded. So, the X Fold 5 is unlikely to be slimmer than the N5. It is speculated that the Honor Magic V5 foldable, debuting this month in China, could snatch the title of the world’s slimmest foldable phone as it is expected to measure around 8mm in the folded state.

While the Oppo Find N5 has the 7-core version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the Magic V5 is said to be equipped with the regular version of the same chip. As far as the Vivo X Fold 5 is concerned, it is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Hence, there’s a possibility that it could be priced lower than the Find N5 and Magic V5. Readers can visit this post to know the entire specifications of the X Fold 5.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Vivo X Fold 5 is tentatively scheduled to launch this month (June) in China. He revealed that the company will also announce the Vivo Pad 5e tablet and Vivo TWS Air 3 Pro alongside the X Fold 5.

As far as the Pad 5e is concerned, it is tipped to feature a 12.1-inch LCD panel and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The rest of its specifications are under wraps.

While the X Fold 5 is expected to launch this month in China, it may hit the global market by early July.

Google Pixel 10 Pro prototype images reveal key specifications and design tweaks

The Google Pixel 10 series is expected to be officially announced on August 20 this year. Its pre-orders are expected to begin on same date and shipments are slated to start on August 28. Well ahead of the official unveiling, live shots of what appears to be the Pixel 10 Pro have surfaced on the CoolAPK forum in China. These images offer an early look at both the hardware and design refinements of the upcoming flagship.

Google Pixel 10 Pro early prototype: Key specs, design

The leaked unit is confirmed to be a DVT (Design Validation Test) prototype, carrying the internal codename Blazer. It is powered by the next-generation Tensor G5 chipset, paired with 16GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, and runs Android 16.

The Tensor G5’s CPU setup includes a mix of two Cortex-A520, three Cortex-A725, two additional Cortex-A725, and a single Cortex-X4 performance core. It also features a g5400i modem, which is believed to be of Samsung Exynos origin.

The live shots reveal several visual changes compared to the Pixel 9 Pro. The USB-C port at the bottom now sits between two identical cutouts, likely housing a pair of speakers. The SIM tray has been shifted to the top-left edge of the device.

Meanwhile, the rear camera bar looks thicker, hinting at internal component upgrades. The cover glass now extends closer to the edges, possibly indicating thinner bezels or a more refined display design.

According to reports, the Pixel 10 lineup is expected to include multiple devices, such as the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. With leaks surfacing nearly two months ahead of launch, Google may face challenges in keeping the final design under wraps for long.
