Ayaneo has announced the upcoming discontinuation of its Android-based Pocket Fit 8 Elite gaming handheld. The company confirmed that rising RAM and storage costs have made further production unsustainable. After fulfilling pre-orders and completing one final restock, Ayaneo will end production of the device.

The Pocket Fit 8 Elite, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, has begun shipping to backers after months of production delays. Ayaneo prioritized shipping orders as soon as individual SKUs left the factory.

The company stated that it is committed to completing all outstanding pre-orders before selling remaining inventory to the public. However, future production costs will increase significantly, making this restock likely the last.

Ayaneo revealed that the global RAM shortage had a significant impact on the Pocket Fit 8 Elite. The company attributed months of delays to supply chain disruptions.

Although Ayaneo reserved materials for limited additional production, the rising cost of components prevents the product from being a long-term offering. Ayaneo has no plans to produce more units after the next restock.

This isn’t an isolated situation for Ayaneo. Several other handhelds in the company’s lineup are also facing production limitations. The Pocket Vert and Pocket S Mini will not be restocked once the current inventory sells out.

For the Pocket Air Mini, Ayaneo confirmed that free promotional units will end after April 1, 2026. Meanwhile, the Pocket DS is available for limited pre-orders, but its future batches remain uncertain.

The company also shared an update on its Next 2 flagship Windows handheld. Ayaneo suspended sales of the Next 2 due to rapidly increasing storage prices.

Costs have grown to nearly double the original estimates, making the device unsustainable to sell at its current retail price. Pre-orders of the Next 2 will still be fulfilled, and Ayaneo plans to resume sales if prices stabilize in the future.

Ayaneo reassured backers that it will provide after-sales support and spare parts for both the Pocket Fit 8 Elite and Next 2.

Ayaneo has issued a new update for its handheld lineup, and it’s not exactly great news for buyers. In a post shared on its Discord server, Ayaneo outlined the situation across multiple devices. Some of the affected models are fairly recent too, which makes the timing a bit unusual.

The Pocket Vert, for example, is already running low on stock and won’t be restocked once it sells out. The Pocket S Mini is in a similar position, though slightly more abrupt. It only launched earlier this year, but production has already stopped. What’s left will be sold, and that’s it. The company also confirmed that the free Pocket Air Mini units offered as compensation for the smaller battery will no longer be available after April 1, 2026.

There’s also a limited update on the Pocket DS. Around 200 units are up for pre-order again, with shipping expected in mid-April. Beyond that, Ayaneo isn’t committing to more batches, so availability could be short-lived.

Things are a bit more mixed under the Konkr branding. The Pocket Fit Gen 3 and Pocket Fit 8 Elite are still in play, but with some changes. The Snapdragon 8 Elite version, which had seen delays, is finally shipping. Once current orders are done, Ayaneo plans to relaunch it in phases. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 variant, however, is already gone from the official store.

The Konkr Fit, which is the first Windows-based model in that lineup, is still open for pre-orders. It was initially planned as a limited run, but Ayaneo now says production will depend on demand instead.

There’s no clear word yet on how much prices will increase, or whether other models will be affected. But given the broader spike in DRAM and storage costs, it wouldn’t be surprising if more changes follow.

Inside, the Pocket Play is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300, built on TSMC’s third-generation 4nm process. The chip uses an octa-core CPU design paired with Arm’s Immortalis-G720 GPU. Ayaneo has also added an active air-cooling system to help keep performance stable during long gaming sessions.

Haptics and audio haven’t been ignored either. The phone includes an 0815 X-axis linear motor with four vibration modes for more nuanced feedback, along with stereo dual speakers aimed at making games and media feel more immersive.

Ayaneo has officially unveiled its latest Windows handheld gaming device, the Ayaneo Next 2. This high-performance APU places the device in the top tier of Windows handhelds, alongside offerings from GPD and OneXPlayer that also use AMD’s new Strix Halo platform.

The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 features 16 cores and 32 threads, built on AMD’s latest Zen 5 architecture. The integrated Radeon 8060S iGPU can deliver performance close to the RTX 4060.

The Ayaneo Next 2 includes a dual-fan cooling system, which is expected to maintain thermal stability during long gaming sessions. The device runs Windows out of the box and adopts a more rounded design compared to its predecessors. Ayaneo has not revealed the screen specifications yet, but describes it as “top-tier.” According to reports, it may feature an 8.4-inch 2560×1600 IPS display, although this remains unconfirmed.

AYANEO is adding another member to its growing handheld family, and this one is built for nostalgia as much as performance. The newly announced AYANEO Pocket DS takes cues from the dual-screen era of portable consoles, pairing modern Android gaming with a retro-friendly design. 

It comes in a clamshell form factor with two displays, a Qualcomm Snapdragon gaming chip, and enough software tweaks to take full use of the second screen.

Specs and features

At its core, the Pocket DS runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 platform — the same chip powering AYANEO’s Pocket S, Pocket EVO, and other recent handhelds. 

The base model ships with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, with higher-end configurations going up to 16GB + 1TB. AYANEO has also included its in-house AYASpace + AYAHome software, along with a planned “DS Launcher” app for streamlined multitasking.

The main display is a 7-inch OLED panel with 1080p resolution, a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, 800 nits peak brightness, and HDR support. The secondary screen is a 5-inch IPS LCD with a 1024 × 768 resolution in a 4:3 aspect ratio, designed to suit Nintendo DS and 3DS emulation better. 

Both screens support quick mode switching, gestures for swapping content, and AYANEO’s new “Focus Lock” feature for controlling where input is directed. Also, the clamshell body uses a metal top shell and a hinge that can open flat to 180 degrees. 

Powering the setup is an 8,000mAh battery with PD fast charging. Cooling is handled by a PC-grade turbo fan and copper plate system to manage sustained loads.

Ayaneo has officially confirmed its entry into the smartphone market. At its 2025-2026 strategy briefing, the company announced plans to launch its first gaming smartphone, named the Ayaneo Phone. Alongside the phone, Ayaneo also introduced Konkr, a new sub-brand focused on affordable handheld gaming devices.

The Ayaneo Phone will mark the company’s first attempt at building a true gaming smartphone. Ayaneo stated that the device is “built for gamers” and will reflect the company’s handheld gaming design philosophy. Although the company has not revealed any technical specifications, teaser images and statements suggest that the phone will feature a sliding mechanism. Physical controls are expected to slide out from beneath the display, similar to Sony’s Xperia Play from 2011.

This move positions the Ayaneo Phone as a potential competitor to the Anbernic RG Slide, a recently launched handheld that also uses a sliding form factor. However, unlike Anbernic’s device, which lacks mobile network capabilities, the Ayaneo Phone will function as a full smartphone. The company has not confirmed a release date or price, but more information is expected in future livestreams and at the upcoming ChinaJoy 2025 event.

Ayaneo has also launched Konkr, a sub-brand aimed at delivering performance-focused handhelds at more affordable prices. Ayaneo has officially unveiled the Pocket S2 series, a new line of Android 14 handheld gaming consoles powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 platform. The series includes two models: Pocket S2 and Pocket S2 Pro, and marks the global debut of Snapdragon’s latest gaming-focused chipset.

Both devices feature a 6.3-inch 2K IPS display with a resolution of 2560×1440, 466PPI pixel density, and up to 600 nits of brightness. The screen supports 120% sRGB and 90% DCI-P3 color gamut, offering detailed visuals across mobile and retro games. Ayaneo uses its signature bezel-less design and CNC-machined curved aluminum mid-frame to achieve a slim profile measuring just 15.9mm thick.

The Pocket S2 series uses Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 gaming platform, featuring a 1+5+2 octa-core CPU with a 3.3GHz prime core and an Adreno A33 GPU clocked at 1.05GHz. Ayaneo claims the platform delivers a 30% improvement in CPU performance and a 28% boost in GPU performance compared to the previous generation. The device scores over 2 million points on AnTuTu, according to the company’s in-house testing.

Gaming handheld maker AYANEO has confirmed the global release dates for the Pocket DMG and Pocket Micro retro gaming handhelds. The two handhelds will be unveiled simultaneously on July 31.

The two upcoming AYANEO retro gaming handhelds resemble classic Nintendo systems like the GameBoy and GameBoy Micro. They however have the complement of modern features like an OLED display and chipsets powerful enough to emulate games from most of the popular game consoles.

AYANEO has released its first power bank and it comes in retro styling. The AYANEO Retro Power Bank comes in a 12,000mAh battery and delivers up to 45W charging speed. The release of the power bank is coming eight months after it was announced and AYANEO has released several products since then.

AYANEO has an expanding collection of handheld gaming devices and has just released the Pocket EVO and Pocket DMG. The AYANEO Retro Power Bank can recharge devices at 45W across a range of amp and wattage combinations. It has two USB-C ports but the power bank can only recharge at 45W peak speed via the USBC1 port.

When both USB ports are engaged simultaneously, the power bank outputs 15W for one device and 30W for another. The power bank is designed such that it is possible to view the charging status for any of the two connected devices being recharged. It has a built-in OLED screen with a length of 0.91 inches across and a resolution of 32 x 128 pixels. The power bank has dimensions of 98 x 81 x 21.9 mm and a weight of 238g. The power bank comes in an SNES-inspired finish underlining its retro design.

Pricing & Availability

The AYANEO Retro Power Bank can be purchased directly via the AYANEO e-commerce platform for $39.99. It is expected that the availability of the power bank will subsequently extend to retail platforms like Amazon.

AYANEO is giving the AYANEO 2S and AYANEO KUN handheld consoles a performance boost with the AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor upgrade. This announcement follows the recent reveal of the AYANEO AIR 1S.

The upgraded AYANEO AIR 1S will be available in three color options.

The new processor, codenamed “Hawk Point,” replaces the current “Phoenix” (Ryzen 7 7840U) chip found in the AYANEO AIR 1S/2S/KUN consoles. While retaining the 8-core Zen 4 CPU and 12CU RDNA 3 graphics core, the upgrade brings a significant leap in NPU performance – a remarkable 60% increase to 16 TOPS.

The power bank boasts a 12,000mAh capacity, similar to the batteries found in some of AYANEO’s handheld gaming consoles. While it won’t match the fastest charging options available, it supports USB Type-C Power Delivery (PD) with a maximum output of 45W.

Visually, the Retro Power Bank truly embraces its retro theme. It features two USB Type-C ports positioned to resemble the layout of controller ports on an SNES. 

Additionally, it has buttons that appear to mimic the power and reset buttons from the classic console. However, AYANEO has yet to confirm the specific functionalities of these buttons on the power bank.

Another interesting feature is the monochrome OLED display. Though AYANEO hasn’t revealed the display specifications, they claim it can show real-time charging and discharging information for two connected devices simultaneously. It will allow you to easily monitor the charging status of both your power bank and your device.

While an official release date remains elusive, AYANEO says that the Retro Power Bank “is set to launch soon.”

AYANEO is delivering the Pocket DMG as a premium Android gaming handheld that stands squarely with current top models. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon G3X Gen and also features an OLED display. The AYANEO Pocket DMG offers an unusual controller layout that stands out among its competitors.

The AYANEO Pocket DMG retro gaming handheld was first teased in November 2023. A full-length image of the Pocket DMG has now surfaced, together with key specs. The AYANEO Pocket DMG is a vertical retro gaming handheld similar to the Analogue Pocket and Anbernic RG405V, among others. It is equipped with a 3.92-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,240 x 1,080 pixels and a 419 PPI. The display of the Pocket DMG is seemingly the most vibrant in the market among current retro gaming handhelds.

A major highlight of the AYANEO Pocket DMG is its choice of the Snapdragon G3X Gen 2 chipset. It is noted that the Snapdragon G3X Gen 2 is the same processor present in the AYANEO Pocket S, hence the Pocket DMG is capable of emulating most games. The new AYANEO Pocket DMG however comes with a single joystick. The company hopes to compensate this drawback by including a touchpad area that the joystick sits within, as an alternative.

AYANEO has not provided any specifics on the launch date of the Pocket DMG and the press release was also silent on the pricing of the model. It is however expected that the latest flagship AYANEO retro gaming handheld could berth on the market shortly.

AYANEO has released the Pocket S gaming handheld after it was opened for pre-order a few months back. The AYANEO Pocket S is powered by the Snapdragon G3X Gen 2 processor and comes with some impressive performance ratings.

Features

The Pocket S is the first gaming handheld to debut the Snapdragon G3X Gen 2 chipset and it outperforms all earlier handhelds with the Snapdragon G3X Gen 1 processor. Some of these Android handhelds are the Razer Edge and AYN Odin2.

The AYANEO Pocket S expectedly comes with a 1440p display for greater video output. There is also a 1080p option which is cheaper than the 1040p display model. Both displays are six inches in size and utilize IPS technology. The two Pocket S options have different Pixel density with the standard model having 368PPI while the 1040p version is 490PPI. Both options have a 100% sRGB color gamut coverage as well as 85% DCI-P3 color space coverage.

The maximum brightness of the AYANEO Pocket S is 400 nits and all the variants have the same hardware architecture. The battery capacity of the gaming handheld is 6,000mAh while the model also features the AYANEO vapor chamber and active air cooling system. The RAM capacity of the entry-level option is 128GB and it comes with UFS 3.1 storage. The other configurations of the Pocket S have faster UFS 4.0 storage.

Pricing & Availability

The entry-level version of the AYANEO Pocket S with a 1080p display and 128GB RAM is priced at $399. The 1440p display option of the flagship gaming handheld is priced at $439 with 128GB of RAM. The earliest shipments of the AYANEO Pocket S will be in May 2024.

So today I got my hands on a 7840HS mini-pc, the AYANEO Retro AM02, which not only has a powerful processor, but also has a unique retro look, powerful interfaces, and even eGPU support.

Of all the mini-pc products I’ve used, the AM02 comes in the nicest package.

Not only that, the AM02 has a very wide range of accessories, HDMI cable, installation tools, and AC Power Adapter for different regions, the most surprising thing to me is that the package includes a 100W GaN Power Adapter, crazy.

Design

The AM02 seems like a replica of the Nintendo NES console released in 1983, and at a time when most people are tired of the repetitive and uninteresting look of the mini-PC, a replica of the already recognized NES is a smart idea.

The AM02 also replicates the NES’s card slot design, and it’s cool to see that you can open the front panel by pressing the red ‘OPEN’ button. Although the machine’s casing is mostly made of plastic, it has an excellent paint finish and looks very much like metal.

Of course, the most eye-catching part of the AM02 is the info screen on the front, which has a good resolution and even supports touch control, allowing you to check real-time performance state, adjust the TDP, check the time, adjust the volume, and so on.

In actual running, I prefer to live with it for displaying performance data. But in my imagination, the screen is capable of offering more, such as personal customization and shortcut supports. So I really hope that AYANEO will make this small screen more useful in future updates.

In terms of ports, the AM02 has four USB-A ports, one HDMI2.0 and one DP1.4, as well as a 2.5G Ethernet Port. And most importantly, the AM02 has a full-featured USB-4 Type-C port, which not only offers 40Gbps transfer efficiency but also supports eGPU connection. For gamers, the AM02 could be a real replacement for a traditional Gaming PC, if you can ignore the slight performance losses of external graphics cards.

Meanwhile, disassembling the AM02 is relatively easy. Just follow the steps in the manual and use the tools included in the package. It’s not difficult at all even for the unexperienced. If you’ve bought a Barebone configuration, such detailed installation instructions can save you a lot of trouble.

In terms of expansion performance, the AM02 has two SO-DIMM Slots and supports up to 64GB of memory. It’s worth noting that the AM02 only has one PCle 4.0 M.2 Interface, but it seems to support up to 8TB Dual-Sided Partice SSD. So for such a compact space, it is not bad.

Performance

The 7840HS is arguably the best solution for min-pc at the moment, so there’s no need to worry about the AM02’s performance at all, as the 7840HS performed very well in CPU-z tests. Multi-core performance is roughly equivalent to the 5800X, slightly behind the 12600K, but in terms of power consumption, the 7840HS wins the race.

In the more stressful Cinebench R24, the 7840HS performed very well in both single and multi-core. I must say that this 8-core, 16-thread processor is more than enough to handle most tasks. Whether you’re gaming or working, the 7840HS doesn’t disappoint.

During the stress test, the chip can be maintained at 45W almost the entire time, with the frequency running at close to 4Ghz, there is actually no need to worry about the cooling performance, with this quad heatpipe cooler, it can keep the CPU cool in high loads.

Meanwhile, during the stress test, the fan speed was around 3400 RPM, and there was a noticeable noise, but not too loud.

However, one area to note is that due to the mounting position of the hard disk and the wireless adapter, the hard drive temperature is relatively high when doing heavy reading and writing.

Upon disassembly, I found that the drive does not have a cooling structure, which is most likely a compromise for mounting the small screen.

So, if you are planning to buy a Barebone version, I would recommend installing a cooler Drive without Dram cache.

Game Test

The 7840HS has a built-in AMD Radeon 780M GPU, which has already surpassed the 1050TI and is very close to the 1060 max-Q in Time Spy Tests.

The most important thing is the performance in real games.

First, Let’s see what happened in Genshin Impact. Under 1080p resolution with the highest graphics, the AM02 smoothly run the game at 60fps, which is impressive for the first round.

Then check it out in Counter-Strike 2: with 1080p resolution & mid-graphics, the gaming experience is also great, which easily achieved 100FPS in Death Match.

And, put some pressure on it. In Cyberpunk 2077 with the same 1080p & mid-graphics, the mini PC can handle it, but it couldn’t reach at 60fps. But there’s also a solution for the AM02 mini PC – adding an eGPU.

For a smoother gaming experience, the full-featured USB4.0 port can be put to good use. We selected an AMD Radeon RX 6600M graphics for it.

The gaming experience was boosted to another level. The gaming framerate has increased several times and mostly stayed between 55-70fps.

Overall, the 780M integrated inside is expected to run most games smoothly at a 1080p resolution. If you play competitive games mostly that don’t require high GPU performance or ultra-refined graphics, then the 780M will deliver a delightful gaming experience. Otherwise, a compact eGPU module would be a nice addition.

AYASPEACE

Since we reviewed the AM01, AYANEO has introduced Ayaspeace which used to be on the gaming handheld to the mini-PC, and has implemented some cool features.

Now Ayaspeace can not only manage the small screen for the AM02, but also allow you to quickly access performance adjustment to set up different output and fan strategies.

Conclusion

The AYANEO Retro AM02 is one of the few mini-PC’s on the market that has a great look. I’m sure there are a lot of users who would choose the AM02 because of its great look. And more importantly, the AYANEO AM02 powered by a 7840HS chipset supporting performance tuning is just a surprise in its kind.

Ayaneo, the renowned brand in gaming handheld consoles, has officially opened pre-orders for its latest device, the Ayaneo Pocket S Android Console. Ayaneo revealed the full specifications and features of the forthcoming Ayaneo Pocket S retro gaming handheld console a few days ago. The handheld gaming console is now available for pre-order for a down payment of 1599 Yuan (~$225). The amount will be adjusted in the final product pricing, and if any outstanding amount remains, it will be repaid to the customer. The high-end Android handheld console offers some exciting hardware specifications and features.

Ayaneo Pocket S HandHeld Gaming Console Features

Ayaneo Pocket S Android Console comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 SoC and Adreno A32 GPU, which clocks up to 1GHz. It is a significant improvement over the Adreno 740 GPU, which clocks at 680 MHz and is present in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. In comparison with the first-gen Snapdragon G3x, the new chipset offers a 30% improvement in CPU and a 100% GPU enhancement. The chipset can pull TDP up to 15W. To offer continuous performance and dissipate heat, the console features a large-area VC thermal plater.

It would come in up to 16GB RAM variants, and we expect another 8GB RAM and 12GB RAM versions too. There will be 1 TB of storage. Details about the storage variants are not yet confirmed; however, the company only confirmed the 16GB RAM + 1TB storage variant while announcing the features. There could be an external storage expansion slot too.

It features a 6-inch IPS mirror display with 490 PPI pixel density, 120% sRGB color gamut volume, and 400 nits of brightness. In controls, it bundles an RGB Hall Sensor, Linear Hall Triggers, a D-Pad, and other gaming buttons. For haptics, it supports triple-mode vibration and SoundTAPMagic, dual-X acis linear motors, and a 6-axis gyroscope.

Ayaneo Pocket S measures 14mm in thickness and 300–400 g in weight. It is built with high-end design materials, including a matte all-metal CNC middle frame. There’s also a biomimetic design for heat dissipation. Further, the software enhancements improve the overall experience. It will be available in black and white color options.

Ayaneo is known for its gaming handheld consoles and mini PCs. It recently launched the Ayaneo FLIP handheld, which comes with an AMD Ryxen 8840U CPU, 64GB of RAM, and 2TB of storage. The company also introduced the Ayaneo AM02 Retro Mini PC, which ships with a 4-inch touch display for $499. Its predecessor, the Ayaneo Retro Mini PC AM01, was made available on Indiegogo in November 2023.

The Flip line-up offers two devices, Flip DS and Flip KB with both featuring identical hardware: 7-inch and 120Hz display, an LPDDR5X RAM, a 45Wh battery, and a PCIe Gen 4 SSD with different configurations being available ranging from 16GB RAM + 512GB storage to 64GB RAM + 2TB storage, pairing with both AMD Ryzen 7840U and 8840U.

The devices also feature an improved vapor chamber design to cool off the new AI-CPU, with a USB4 Type-C port supporting DP 1.4 protocol allowing 4K@144Hz video output along with an OCuLink SSF-8612 Interface providing 64Gbps effective bandwidth, enabling its use with a graphics expansion dock turning the device into a professional workstation.

The base version Flip KB starts at $699 going all the way up to $1239 for the top-of-the-line variant; with the Flip DS being available at a $40 premium at all configurations. The company plans to ship the Ryzen 7840U variants in March 2024, with the Ryzen 8840U variants following in April 2024.

Ayaneo has introduced the AM02 Retro mini PC, a compact and powerful device inspired by the classic NES gaming console. Let’s check out the key specs of this mini PC.

Ayaneo AM02 Retro Specifications:

AM02 Retro comes in a compact form, measuring only 0.9 liters in volume. It features a 4-inch touch panel LCD on the top with various functions such as displaying real-time hardware metrics, enabling on-the-go TDP adjustments, controlling volume, setting up animations, and more. Ayaneo announced the Next Lite gaming handheld at CES 2024 a few days back. The product which is the first non-Valve handheld device that comes with SteamOS preinstalled has now been launched in China. The Ayaneo Next Lite is designed to be a budget device and hence could lack cutting-edge components.

Features

The Next Lite was officially announced via a seemingly muted press release by the company. The Next Lite has a standout feature that should catch the attention of industry watchers, running on SteamOS. The Next Lite will have a 7-inch 800p IPS display and a 47Wh battery. The parameters of the new mobile PC are the same as that of the Ayaneo Next Pro. The Ayaneo Next Pro is powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 5825U processor but the Next Lite could come with a newer processor either the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U or Ryzen 7 8840U. Price considerations for the model imply that the Next Lite could sport a less expensive processor.

The use of SteamOS for non-Valve handhelds like the Ayaneo Next Lite is a leap for Valve. Previously, the company had stated that it was considering getting the SteamOS on other machines, especially for handhelds. The SteamOS operating system has been used in the Steam Deck gaming handheld. Therefore extending its availability to other handhelds is technically easier than extending it to a full Dexktop PC. The SteamOS is a great advantage for the Ayaneo Next Lite over Windows-based competitors in terms of its pricing.

The Ayaneo Next Lite gaming handheld starts at 1,699 yuan ($289) which is way cheaper than the Next Pro’s $1,215 price tag.
