<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei </a>just announced a bunch of new and innovative gadgets, including the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/05/19/huawei-launches-matebook-fold-ultimate-design-its-first-foldable-laptop/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MateBook Fold Ultimate</a>, which is its first foldable laptop. But apart from this, the brand also unveiled a more conventional flagship laptop that is called the MateBook Pro. So here&#8217;s everything you need to know.</p>

<h2>Huawei MateBook Pro: What does it offer?</h2>

<p>The Chinese tech giant announced the MateBook Pro with a premium ultra thin and lightweight design. It measures just 13.5mm in thickness and weighs 970 grams. This makes it even lighter than the MacBook Air. Despite the featherweight body, the chassis is built using a micro-velvet textured aluminum. Huawei&#8217;s latest laptop houses a foam copper VC cooling technology that improves thermal management to handle the performance output of 40W.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Huawei-MateBook-Pro-HarmonyOS-5.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei MateBook Pro" class="wp-image-687547" width="650" height="460" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Huawei-MateBook-Pro-HarmonyOS-5.jpg 650w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Huawei-MateBook-Pro-HarmonyOS-5-300x212.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Huawei-MateBook-Pro-HarmonyOS-5-593x420.jpg 593w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Huawei-MateBook-Pro-HarmonyOS-5-100x70.jpg 100w" sizes="(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px" /><figcaption>Huawei MateBook Pro 14.2 Announced</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>On the front, the MateBook Pro sports a 14.2-inch OLED display with a 3.1K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 1000 nits of peak brightness. Huawei offers an impressive 93 percent screen to body ratio and 99 percent glare reduction with its nano-etching and nano-magnetic coatings. For audio, the MateBook Pro houses a six-speaker Yuezhang system for immersive sound. </p>

<p>A sizeable 70Wh battery pack powers the MateBook Pro, which Huawei claims up to 10.2 hours of battery life. It even supports fast charging up to 140W, along with 66W reverse charging to other devices. Among its new features, the MateBook Pro runs on the HarmonyOS 5 platform with various AI powered tools. This includes the Xiaoyi AI assistant for document summaries, voice or text commands, and more. The HarmonyOS also brings seamless syncing across Huawei&#8217;s HarmonyOS platform with seamless multiplatform connectivity.</p>

<p>we have reviewed Matebook X Pro 2024 &#8211; that high-end slim laptop undoubtedly shows Huawei’s advanced technology. But the price was also too &#8216;premium&#8217; for some users, so HUAWEI offers the mid-range option for the mainstream market. For users who rely a lot on Huawei&#8217;s ecosystem, the software experience could be no different from the X series. </p>

<h3><strong>Design</strong></h3>

<p>The version we reviewed was light green colored, and as you can see the green is quite special. As Huawei officially says, it’s Fresh and soothing. I personally prefer this vibrant color to the other classic grey variant.</p>

<p>Back to the design, the new Matebook 14 continues Huawei&#8217;s classic design for laptops &#8211; Elegant, integrated but nothing really new. The whole machine looks a bit sharp in appearance. Firstly, it has sharp corners and edges.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped">
<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1920" height="1078" data-id="628153" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/P1057680.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-628153" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/P1057680.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/P1057680-300x168.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/P1057680-1024x575.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/P1057680-768x431.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/P1057680-1536x862.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/P1057680-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/P1057680-1068x600.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/P1057680-748x420.jpg 748w" sizes="(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px" /></figure>

<p>Secondly, straight lines are used on the sides and overhangs, and the wedge-shaped design is also straightforward. </p>

<p>Opening the lid, the 14.2-inch OLED screen is truly stunning at first sight, as it has a small bezel for all the edges. HUAWEI officially claimed that it has a 91% screen-to-body ratio.</p>

<p>The keyboard has an interesting design. A subtle height variation visually separates the whole surface into two parts. It makes the trackpad and keyboard look not exactly on the same plane but still keep united as one piece.</p>

<p>The keyboard also supports backlighting. In terms of typing experience, the keys have a low key travel as the other models, but they still offer clear tactile feedback.</p>

<p>In terms of connectivity and expansion, this computer has two USB-A ports and one USB-C port, where the C port is not only a full-featured port, but also supports 40W power-out for emergency charging of mobile phones and other devices.</p>

<h3><strong>Performance</strong></h3>

<p>The variant we reviewed came with the Intel Ultra 7 155H + 16GB LPDDR5X + 1TB. The last thing you need to worry about is the performance. You can check out the brief charts of its CPU scores in some benchmarks. </p>

<p>In the stress test, this Ultra7 155H maintained 64W peak output for the first 30 seconds and then dropped to 40W; finally, it kept running stably and smoothly until the test was completed. The highest CPU temperature detected is only 80 °C, while the room temperature is even higher than 25 °C. It&#8217;s quite impressive with such a cooling effect. But we need to point out that its thermal performance could have supported a more aggressive output strategy. Probably considering the surface temperature might discomfort users when it runs heavily, the designers seem to be more careful about it.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the noise of the built-in fan is well controlled. During the test, the external air conditioner is even louder than this.</p>

<p>The Matebook 14 uses a 1TB SN740, and there&#8217;s not much to say about the performance, but I was more concerned about the temperature of the drive at the beginning. However, the temperature was also only 62° in the large file read/write test &#8211; Crazy.</p>

<p>The new ARC GPU in the 155H scored 3300 in Time Spy test, which is slightly lower than expected. Probably due to the 6000Mhz RAM frequency, the Graphics couldn&#8217;t get sufficient memory frequency from it. For reference, the time spy score with 7467Mhz RAM was 3600, which is about 8% lower. </p>

<p>But it&#8217;s still one of the strongest integrated graphics available. It&#8217;s certainly fine to play some games that don&#8217;t require super high graphics. </p>

<h3><strong>Screen</strong></h3>

<p>There is no doubt that the screen is the highlight of this laptop. This is the first time that Huawei has used an OLED screen on a laptop at this price range. The OLED screen, to some extent, is already enough to convince those users requiring high visual enjoyment. It has excellent brightness and high contrast with great color accuracy.</p>

<p> It even supports touching and Huawei&#8217;s newest stylus, M-Pencil. One of the things I like most about this screen is that it has excellent software support, and like the top-end Matebook X Pro, this Matebook 14 also supports color-mode switching, which makes it very easy to switch between P3, SRGB, and Adobe RGB, and the colors are very, very accurate. Very few brands notice it on their laptop lineups. </p>

<p>Buying a monitor with these specs on its own would cost more than $400. so if you&#8217;re a photographer, it might be a great option.</p>

<p>In terms of dimming, it is DC-like dimming at over 50% brightness, and PWM dimming at less than 50% brightness, which is almost the same as what we could have on flagship phones.</p>

<h3><strong>Huawei Ecosystem</strong></h3>

<p>Like I said earlier, this PC is also an important part of Huawei&#8217;s ecosystem. When paired with a Huawei phone, it allows for quick cross-device access to files and photos, syncing clipboards, backing up videos, and more. Most importantly, it supports screen casting, not just a simple cast, but multiple apps can be cast on this Matebook 14 at the same time. When I am casting multiple apps, the touch screen can help me use those apps better. But also note that if you touch the screen like I did, the screen wobble may annoy you.</p>

<p>If you also have a MatePad, then your experience will become even more flexible with multi-device expansion. With just a simple setup, the MatePad can become a secondary screen. It&#8217;s truly the smoothest and most convenient solution for display expansion. </p>

<h3><strong>Battery&amp;charging</strong></h3>

<p>The Matebook 14 has a built-in 70Wh battery, which in practice is good for ten hours of office scenarios.</p>

<p>The Matebook 14 comes with a 65W charger as standard, and it took about 75 minutes to go from 5% to a fully charged battery with the official charger. I also tested it with a PD3.1 140W charger with a maximum input of 94W, so it could be a bit faster if you use a high-power charger.</p>

<h3><strong>Conclusion</strong></h3>

<p>I really like this Laptop. As I put at the beginning, its benefits are so special that we even hard to find a similar alternative at the same price. But if you do not use HUAWEI devices a lot, then you can weigh in a bit more in the market. Or if you start experimenting HUAWEI products, the new <a href="https://consumer.huawei.com/en/laptops/matebook-14-2024/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MateBook 14</a> could be a proper beginning.</p>

<p>Huawei continues to expand its product family. The company, which has been experiencing difficult days in the smartphone market for a while, compensates for the losses in this sector in other industries. As a result, last week,<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/05/11/huawei-matebook-x-pro-matebook-16s-2023-models-launched/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> the company introduced computer models</a> such as <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-matebook-x-pro-intel-core-i7-laptop/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MateBook X Pro </a>and MateBook 16S to the global market at an event held in Germany. However, Huawei&#8217;s plans are not limited to this. The Intel i7 processor-powered 2-in-1 laptop, Huawei MateBook E 2023, has emerged. Here are the details&#8230;</p>

<h2><strong>Huawei&#8217;s New MateBook E 2023 Launching on May 18</strong></h2>

<p>Huawei is preparing to refresh the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/11/17/huawei-matebook-e-2-in-1-launched-core-i7-12-inch-oled-screen/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MateBook E 2-in-1 laptop</a> model, which first appeared in 2021. The product, which has remained quiet for two years, will make a comeback at an event scheduled for May 18. The 2-in-1 laptop continues in a similar design direction, but it offers a serious leap in performance.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="778" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/huawei-matebook-e-2023-2-in-1-laptop-launch-date-778x1024.webp?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-536838" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/huawei-matebook-e-2023-2-in-1-laptop-launch-date-778x1024.webp 778w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/huawei-matebook-e-2023-2-in-1-laptop-launch-date-228x300.webp 228w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/huawei-matebook-e-2023-2-in-1-laptop-launch-date-768x1011.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/huawei-matebook-e-2023-2-in-1-laptop-launch-date-1167x1536.webp 1167w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/huawei-matebook-e-2023-2-in-1-laptop-launch-date-696x916.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/huawei-matebook-e-2023-2-in-1-laptop-launch-date-1068x1406.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/huawei-matebook-e-2023-2-in-1-laptop-launch-date-319x420.webp 319w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/huawei-matebook-e-2023-2-in-1-laptop-launch-date.webp 1226w" sizes="(max-width: 778px) 100vw, 778px" /></figure>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/05/02/huawei-matepad-air-matebook-e-and-matebook-2023-launch-this-month/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MateBook E 2023</a> represents a true powerhouse in performance, delivering an impressive 50% performance boost compared to its predecessor. This substantial increase in performance can be attributed to the Intel i7-1260U processor and an innovative cooling system, ensuring the device maintains optimal performance even under intensive use. The device will be available in two versions: one equipped with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and the other with the same RAM but a larger 1TB storage capacity.</p>

<p>A standout feature of the new MateBook E is its detachable keyboard that includes a built-in battery. This innovative design not only ensures the functionality of the keyboard but also extends the overall battery life of the device, facilitating longer periods of uninterrupted work or entertainment.</p>

<p>In line with the needs of today&#8217;s tech-savvy users, the MateBook E 2023 offers several connectivity features. It includes dual Type-C ports and supports Thunderbolt 4, providing rapid data transfer and charging capabilities. A stunning 120Hz screen is also part of the package, delivering an immersive viewing experience. The MateBook E 2023 runs on HarmonyOS and features unique elements like the Super Terminal, Mobile Engine 2.0, and Super Transfer Station.</p>

<p>The predecessor of this model, the MateBook E, was equipped with an 11th generation Core processor, a 12.6-inch OLED full-screen, an i5 + 8GB + 256GB + keyboard configuration, and was launched at a price of 5999 yuan. However, due to inflation and rising costs, the new model is expected to be slightly more expensive. Nonetheless, we should wait to discuss the price until the product launch event scheduled for May 18.</p>

While most folks are looking forward to the arrival of the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-p50">Huawei P50</a> series, a leak has revealed there are other interesting products coming too.</p>
<p>The Weibo account @菊厂影业Fans, known for Huawei-related leaks and news has some of the products the Chinese manufacturer has planned for launch this month. Among them are two wearables &#8211; the Huawei Band 6 Pro and the Huawei Children&#8217;s Watch 4X Pro.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-397835" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Huawei-July-Product-lineup.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei July Product lineup" width="620" height="496" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Huawei-July-Product-lineup.jpg 620w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Huawei-July-Product-lineup-300x240.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Huawei-July-Product-lineup-525x420.jpg 525w" sizes="(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px" /></p>
<p>We are surprised about the Band 6 Pro as it is coming just three months after the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/04/09/huawei-band-6-china-launch-price-specs-features/">standard version was announced</a>. However, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/30/huawei-childrens-watch-4x-and-enjoy-tablet-2-announced/">Children&#8217;s Watch 4X</a> was released last July, so a successor is expected.</p>
<p>Huawei will also announce a smart display for kids, following in the footsteps of Amazon who unveiled <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/12/amazon-announces-new-echo-show-8-and-echo-show-5-along-with-a-kids-edition/">a kids version of the Echo Show 5</a> back in May. Its Smart Screen (read smart TV) S series will also get a pro model while the Smart Screen X series will come in a new size.</p>
<p>The leaker adds that Huawei will not be announcing new notebooks this month. So, if you have been looking forward to new <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/matebook">MateBook</a> models, sorry to disappoint but that won&#8217;t be happening according to the source.</p>
<p>We do not know if all of these products will be announced together at one event or will have separate announcements. Once we have more details, we will let you know.</p>

<p>The upcoming launch conference will have the Chinese tech giant unveil new electronic gadgets like TVs, earphones, and smart watches as well. While the company has yet to officially announce the products that will be released on the launch event, we have recently covered a few devices that we expect to be announced on this date. This includes the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/12/new-huawei-childrens-watch-4x-leak-first-look/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">new variant of the Huawei Children&#8217;s Watch 4X</a>, which was leaked recently, along with the Huawei Body Fat Scale 3 Pro.</p>
<p>Furthermore, the brand is also set to launch new TVs, which will be a part of the company&#8217;s SE series of smart TVs. Other expected products that might be launching later this month include a semi in ear headphones, dubbed the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-freebuds-4/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">FreeBuds 4</a>, along with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-watch-3/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Huawei Watch3</a> series of smartwatches as well. We had previously reported on the company also gearing up to launch a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/01/huawei-matepad-pro-2-watch-3-pro-matebook-16-launch-date-leak/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">new high end 16 inch MateBook notebook</a>, while the company just shared a teaser on its official Weibo account for new Mate series product that could also be the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/01/huawei-matepad-pro-2-watch-3-pro-matebook-16-launch-date-leak/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">new MatePad tab</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-389435 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/0020sXlVly1gqgk1nrrmrj61hb0u04qu02.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei" width="690" height="388" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/0020sXlVly1gqgk1nrrmrj61hb0u04qu02.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/0020sXlVly1gqgk1nrrmrj61hb0u04qu02-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>Unfortunately, there is not a lot of news to go on as of right now and we will have to wait for any teaser from Huawei that might arrive in the coming few days. So stay tuned for more, as we will be covering the event and providing any notable updates once additional information is available regarding the upcoming conference.</p>

In addition to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Huawei-matebook-x-pro">Matebook X Pro</a> ultrabook, the company is also bringing its cheaper Matebook D lineup from China to Europe. The D series comes in two versions, the Matebook D 14 and D 15.</p>
<h3>Huawei Matebook X Pro 2020</h3>
<p>The Matebook X Pro comes with top of the line specifications featuring Intel&#8217;s latest 10th generation Comet Lake processors. The laptop can be configured with up to Core i7 chip, 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. You also have the option to upgrade to Nvidia&#8217;s MX250 discrete graphics.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/MateBook-X-Pro.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-306751" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/MateBook-X-Pro.jpg?x10805" alt="MateBook X Pro" width="1280" height="853" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/MateBook-X-Pro.jpg 1280w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/MateBook-X-Pro-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/MateBook-X-Pro-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/MateBook-X-Pro-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/MateBook-X-Pro-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/MateBook-X-Pro-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/MateBook-X-Pro-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px" /></a></p>
<p>The ultrabook has a 13.9-inch touchscreen display with a 3:2 3000 x 2000 aspect ratio and 91% screen to body ratio. Design-wise not much has changed as compared to its predecessor. In fact, you have the exact same 14.6mm × 304mm × 217mm chassis that weighs 1.33kg<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/04/09/huawei-matebook-x-pro-review-a-laptop-from-a-phone-manufacturer/"> as last year</a>. You also get one USB-A port and two USB-C ports along with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a fingerprint enabled power button. The pop-up 1MP camera that&#8217;s hidden on the keyboard also makes a come in this model.</p>
<p>The Matebook X Pro 2020 comes in a new emerald green color option, in addition to space grey and mystic silver.</p>
<p>The ultrabook starts at €1499 for the base Core i5 variant and will go on sale in April 2020.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Huawei Matebook D 14 &amp; 15</h3>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> also announced the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/matebook">Matebook</a> D 14 &amp; 15 models globally today. These aren&#8217;t exactly new laptop models from the company. Huawei had <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/11/25/huawei-matebook-d-launched-china/">announced them back in China</a> in November 2019 and today, it has launched them globally.</p>
<p><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Huawei-MateBook-D-1.jpg?x10805" /></p>
<p>The Matebook D features a 14-inch 1080p display while the Matebook 15 comes with a 15.6-inch 1080p screen. The two laptops can be configured up to the 10th generation Core i7 processor with an option to go for an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U chipset. You can choose between SSD or SSD + HDD combo too. Notably, features such as a fingerprint enabled power button and pop-up button camera will be available on this budget D series as well. Both the laptops get a 65W charger in the box.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, we have no word on the availability or pricing of the Matebook D lineup in Europe yet.</p>

Along with the new laptop and tablet, we have confirmed that the company will be launching a new foldable smartphone.</p>
<p>The foldable smartphone could be the Huawei Mate Xs which the company&#8217;s CEO Richard Yu <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/01/15/huawei-mate-xs-to-launch-in-march-2020-with-better-display-and-hinge/">had confirmed last year</a> to feature better processor (<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/25/huaweis-kirin-990-chipset-scores-over-400k-on-master-lu/">Kirin 990 5G</a>), an improved display and an upgraded hinge mechanism. The phone will come with some changes in its design that’ll make it more compact and durable.</p>

The troubled Chinese tech company has received some serious plaudits over the last couple of years for its MateBook range, and now, it looks like we&#8217;re about to get a taste of the next chapter.</p>
<p>A number of renders <a title="Evan Blass" href="https://twitter.com/evleaks" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">posted by serial leaker Evan Blass</a> suggest that there are two new models in the pipeline. One is a pretty bog-standard 14in device. We suspect it&#8217;s not a refreshed <a title="MateBook X Pro review" href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/04/11/huawei-matebook-x-pro-2019-and-matebook-14-get-china-launch/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MateBook X Pro</a>, simply because it has an HDMI port, something that has previously only been included on mid-range Huawei devices.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>EDITOR’S PICK: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/11/20/huawei-smart-screen-certified-by-wi-fi-alliance/">Huawei Smart Screen certified by Wi-Fi alliance</a></strong></h6>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-290608" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/20191120_204808_264.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="728" height="435" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/20191120_204808_264.jpg 728w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/20191120_204808_264-300x179.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/20191120_204808_264-696x416.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/20191120_204808_264-703x420.jpg 703w" sizes="(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px" /></p>
<p>The more interesting variant appears to be a 15-incher &#8211; the first time Huawei has dabbled into a larger form-factor. From the renders we can make one or two fairly safe assumptions &#8211; the power key looks to be the usual one that doubles as a fingerprint sensor.</p>
<p>The upcoming Matebooks might not be the slimmest models we have yet seen, but they sure come with quite the port selection. Huawei appears to have stuffed the 15-inch model with an audio out, full-size HDMI output, 3x USB-A ports and a USB-C one that is most likely compatible with the Thunderbolt 3 standard, while the 14-inch model is only one USB-A port short.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-290607" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/nobel.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="1428" height="700" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/nobel.jpg 1428w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/nobel-300x147.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/nobel-768x376.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/nobel-1024x502.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/nobel-324x160.jpg 324w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/nobel-533x261.jpg 533w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/nobel-696x341.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/nobel-1068x524.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/nobel-857x420.jpg 857w" sizes="(max-width: 1428px) 100vw, 1428px" /></p>
<p>Both variants feature the power button that integrates a fingerprint reader and come with thin bezel 16:9 displays. Judging by the thickness of the chassis, these models will probably be powered by Intel’s top-of-the-line Comet Lake-U processors. We can probably expect these new MateBooks to make an appearance at CES or MWC in early 2020.</p>
<p>We&#8217;ve no idea when exactly the new laptops will hit the market. Huawei traditionally announces their Matebooks in Q1 for release in Q2, so expect to see the devices hit the market in April 2020. Hopefully, by then the company will have resolved their issues with the US government, it&#8217;s such a shame to see these great devices get stifled.</p>

<p>Reports from Chinese media say insiders have termed the rumor as false and work is still ongoing. The unnamed source even revealed Huawei will release a new model next month. This new model will bring new features and may even be the first of a new series.</p>
<p>It has been reported that rumors about the suspension of production and development of new PCs might have been as a result of Huawei postponing the launch of the new MateBook. The PC was originally reported to be announced at CES Asia which began this week.</p>
<p>There is no info on the specs of the new PC are currently unknown. However, while it will launch in China in July, it may take a while before arriving in other markets.</p>

The attention has now been turned to is its PC business which has suffered a strong blow.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-238087 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/matebook-x-pro-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei MateBook X Pro" width="1280" height="720" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/matebook-x-pro-2.jpg 1280w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/matebook-x-pro-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/matebook-x-pro-2-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/matebook-x-pro-2-1024x576.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px" /></p>
<p>A new report says the Chinese giant has asked its supply chain partners to halt deliveries. It has also asked work on new projects to be suspended. This move affects Huawei&#8217;s own <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/matebook">MateBook</a> PCs as well as that of its <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/honor">Honor</a> sub-brand which are sold under the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/magicbook">MagicBook</a> brand.</p>
<p>According to <em>Digitimes</em>, a number of suppliers have received a memo from <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> to stop supply. There is no time frame for when production and development will resume as Huawei doesn&#8217;t have an alternative to Intel and Windows OS (Wintel). Both Intel and Microsoft are US-based companies and are prevented from conducting business with Huawei. AMD, which also powers some of Huawei&#8217;s PCs is also an American company.</p>
<p>While Huawei has been able to stock up on chipsets for its mobile phones following the US&#8217;s spate with ZTE last year, it has not been able to do so for its Notebook business.</p>
<p>Huawei&#8217;s PC business has grown significantly ever since it began a few years ago. Its shipment is expected to reach up to 277.3% but that figure will no longer be attainable following the recent developments. The MateBook X Pro which launched earlier this year set a record of ¥10 million in sales in just 10 minutes on a Chinese e-commerce store.</p>

Both come with a USB-C 65W power adapter and can be used to charge other devices too. It appears the manufacturer has a power bank in development that will be able to charge the notebook when you are on the road or away from a wall outlet.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-242614" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Huawei-40W-Power-Bank.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei MateBook 40W Power Bank" width="600" height="627" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Huawei-40W-Power-Bank.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Huawei-40W-Power-Bank-287x300.jpg 287w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>Earlier today, Huawei&#8217;s VP of mobile business, Li Xialong Bruce Lee, shared a photo of a Huawei MateBook connected to a device that&#8217;s covered up. Between the cable and the device which we believe is a power bank is a Power-Z USB Voltage Current Tester. The display on the tester shows the device is drawing 19.9V and 1.86A of current. The total power drawn is 37.19W.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-242613" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Huawei-40W-Power-Bank-b.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei 40W Power Bank b" width="600" height="411" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Huawei-40W-Power-Bank-b.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Huawei-40W-Power-Bank-b-300x206.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>One can deduce that the power bank supports USB Power Delivery and can support a maximum power output of 40W. Though not as fast as the 65W power adapter, this should keep the MateBook from running out of battery while in use. The power bank should also be able to charge your phones or other devices that support charging via USB Power Delivery.</p>

<p>There is no info yet on when Huawei will unveil the power bank. Mr. Bruce Lee says he has been testing the product for three months which should mean a launch is around the corner. We won&#8217;t be surprised if Huawei announces it at tomorrow&#8217;s Paris event.</p>

As the name suggests, this particular model comes loaded with a number of high-end features. The highlight of the new power bank is its support for 45W dual way fast charging.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_230657" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-230657" style="width: 791px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Screenshot-2019-01-04-at-2.26.23-PM.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-230657" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Screenshot-2019-01-04-at-2.26.23-PM.png?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 3 Pro" width="791" height="494" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Screenshot-2019-01-04-at-2.26.23-PM.png 791w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Screenshot-2019-01-04-at-2.26.23-PM-300x187.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Screenshot-2019-01-04-at-2.26.23-PM-768x480.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 791px) 100vw, 791px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-230657" class="wp-caption-text">Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 3 Pro</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>The Mi <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/powerbank">Powerbank</a> 3 Pro comes with three ports in total, as opposed to the two ports found on the 10000mAh Mi Powerbank 2 Pro model. There are two USB-A ports along with a USB Type-C port. The Type-C port can take 45W (15V/3A) input as well as output, while the USB-A ports max out at 18W (again both input/output at 5V/2.4A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A). It can charge a number of laptops through its Type-C port including some of Apple&#8217;s Macbook Pro and Air models and Huawei&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/matebook">Matebook</a> models (the complete list of supported models are added at the end of the post).</p>

</ul>
<p>When both the USB-A ports are in use, the output is maxed out at 15W each (5V/3A). Note that the power bank supports pass through charging, so it can charge other devices while being charged. Xiaomi adds that the 11 hour charging time (with a regular 10W charger) for the power bank goes down to just 4.5 hours with a 45W charger.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Screenshot-2019-01-04-at-2.28.34-PM.png?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-230659" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Screenshot-2019-01-04-at-2.28.34-PM.png?x10805" alt="Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 3 Pro 2" width="588" height="705" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Screenshot-2019-01-04-at-2.28.34-PM.png 588w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Screenshot-2019-01-04-at-2.28.34-PM-250x300.png 250w" sizes="(max-width: 588px) 100vw, 588px" /></a></p>
<p>The power bank seems to be made out of ABS plastic that features a ceramic-like gloss finish. Other features of the Mi Power bank 3 Pro include low power support for smart wearables and 9 layers of circuit chip protection.</p>
<p>The new Mi powerbank goes on sale on January 11 for a price tag of 199 Yuan (~$29). FYI, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/11/06/oppo-partners-with-pokemon-launches-pikachu-themed-supervooc-power-bank-r17-pro-cases/">OPPO had released a SuperVOOC Pikachu themed Powerbank</a> back in November last year which came with 50W charging support. Microsoft has compared some of its features to that of the MacBook and it seems it might just be the competitor powerful to take on Apple. Turns out Microsoft isn&#8217;t the only one planning to take on the MacBook. Financial Times reports that Huawei is set to release a high-powered notebook by month-end that will give Apple a run for its money.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-126602" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Huawei-MateBook-EXD-e1491944557297.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei MateBook E," width="727" height="670" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Huawei-MateBook-EXD-e1491944557297.jpg 727w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Huawei-MateBook-EXD-e1491944557297-300x276.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 727px) 100vw, 727px" /></p>
<p>The new notebook is said to be aimed at the average consumer and not necessarily the business professional. Although configuration details of the Windows 10 laptop weren&#8217;t mentioned, the pricing is said to be quite high.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><span style="color: #ff0000">READ MORE:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/05/02/huawei-ships-34-55-million-smartphones-units-q1-2017-third-world/">Huawei Ships 34.55 Million Smartphones Units During Q1 2017, Third in The World</a><span id="more-129493"></span></p>
<p>Last month, leakster Evan Blass posted details of Huawei&#8217;s upcoming notebooks. The three notebooks codenamed Pascal, Bell and Watt are expected to be launched as the MateBook E, X, and D respectively. Images released alongside the info shows the MateBook E is more like a 2-in-1 while the MateBook X and MateBook D are full-fledged notebooks. We are still in the first week of the month and there is more than enough time to see what Huawei is working on before the official launch.</p>

<p>The new Matebook codenamed “Pascal” and with model number HUAWEI H95-Pascal-W19 was benchmarked on the site last week. The specs revealed shows that it is powered by the Intel Core i5-7200U clocked at 2.71GHz and is paired with 8GB of RAM. The new processor is an upgrade over the Core M processor that graced the model released last year.</p>
<p>The benchmark result shows the new Matebook scoring 3651 points in the single-core test and 6738 points for the multi-core test.</p>

<p>Apart from the processor upgrade, the new Matebook will also be available in two sizes: a 13-inch version and a 15-inch model. This info was revealed by Huawei at the end of 2016. Both sizes are bigger than last year&#8217;s 12-inch model. A tweet by leakster @rquandt says the model on GeekBench is the 15-inch model. So there is a possibility that the smaller variant will also have different specs.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/huawei-MWC-2016-new-teaser.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-72470" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/huawei-MWC-2016-new-teaser.jpg?x10805" alt="huawei MWC 2016 new teaser" width="1024" height="833" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/huawei-MWC-2016-new-teaser.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/huawei-MWC-2016-new-teaser-300x244.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/huawei-MWC-2016-new-teaser-600x488.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/huawei-MWC-2016-new-teaser-516x420.jpg 516w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/huawei-MWC-2016-new-teaser-640x521.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/huawei-MWC-2016-new-teaser-681x554.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>The teaser reveals that the upcoming Huawei product will be targeted at business users. And thanks to the previous leaks, we may know what product to expect at the event next week.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>READ MORE: <span style="color: #000000;"><a style="color: #000000;" href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/02/10/huawei-mwc-2016-expect/"><span style="color: #800080;">Huawei at MWC 2016: What to Expec</span>t</a></span></strong></span></p>
<p>Huawei could release the long rumored Huawei Matebook laptop hybrid at MWC 2016. The laptop is expected to be customized for business users and hence, the words on the teaser &#8220;The new style of business&#8221; kind of hints at this product launch. Moreover, the teaser confirms a stylus for the product, which once again the Matebook hybrid was rumored to come with. Seeing all these hints, it&#8217;s quite likely that the company will announce the Matebook laptop at the event.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/laptop-hybrid.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-72237" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/laptop-hybrid.jpg?x10805" alt="laptop-hybrid" width="720" height="450" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/laptop-hybrid.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/laptop-hybrid-300x188.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/laptop-hybrid-600x375.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/laptop-hybrid-672x420.jpg 672w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/laptop-hybrid-640x400.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/laptop-hybrid-681x426.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></a></p>
<p>The hybrid laptop is said to feature a 12.9-inch detachable display and will run on Windows 10 platform. In fact, we have <strong>compiled a detailed feature list of the Matebook laptop in our previous article, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/02/04/huawei-matebook-laptop-heres-expect/">which you can check out from here</a></strong>. The new product will be launched on February 21 at 2 pm.</p>
<p>Although Huawei&#8217;s Matebook hybrid laptop is our pick at the event, the company may also unveil the rumored Huawei P9 flagship there. We have been hearing a lot about this upcoming smartphone in the past few weeks, and it&#8217;s possible that the device is launched ahead of schedule. The phone is <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/01/19/huawei-p9-will-reportedly-come-in-four-variants/">rumored to feature pretty high-end specs</a>, like Kirin 955 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, 5.2-inch FHD 1080p display, 4GB RAM and $450 price tag.</p>
<p>Since it&#8217;s confirmed that Huawei will announce a new business oriented product at MWC 2016, we hope to see more information in the coming days. So, stay tuned.</p>

The description of the trademark hinted that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer was going to enter the PC industry soon.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/8659341458108636044.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-23693" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/8659341458108636044.jpg?x10805" alt="huawei mt6752" width="450" height="300" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/8659341458108636044.jpg 450w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/8659341458108636044-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px" /></a></p>
<p>Now, a new post from one of the insiders of the industry has revealed that the Huawei Matebook laptop will most likely be made by <strong>BYD Electronics.</strong> This Shenzen based smartphone component manufacturer has made phones for companies like Nokia and Motorola. On the other hand, its confirmed that the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/09/23/inventec-to-make-xiaomis-first-laptop-starts-shipping-by-h1-2016/">Taiwanese ODM Inventec will design and manufacture laptops for Xiaomi</a>.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/BYD-Company.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-61522" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/BYD-Company.jpg?x10805" alt="BYD-Company" width="600" height="350" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/BYD-Company.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/BYD-Company-300x175.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>So it looks like next year, we will have several new entrants in the PC industry starting with Xiaomi and Huawei. Xiaomi laptops are expected to start shipping sometime in the first half of 2016. However, we still have no idea about the release time frame of the Huawei Matebook laptop. Considering Xiaomi&#8217;s entry into the industry, the release should be around the same time as its rival. But for more information, it looks like, we will have to wait for a few more weeks at least.</p>
