After confirming the Android 9.0 Pie update for almost every compatible Moto device, the company is preparing to rollout Moto G6 and G6 Play update very soon. After a long wait, Motorola will push the Android Pie update to the respective devices in the upcoming week.

Although, Motorola Brazil has already started rolling out the update to Moto G6 users in Brazil. The wide rollout will take place soon within a couple of weeks. Currently, the update is going through final tests before it starts hitting the devices. As per the official changelog, it will carry various changes and feature additions on the device.

Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play will get all the features of Android 9 Pie such as refined permissions, new gestures, adaptive brightness, improved notifications, native notch support, app actions, and adaptive battery. Moreover, it will feature January Security patch with new security measures. It has even fixed the Google Pay functionality which got compromised in the past.

Well, the good news is that Motorola is in final development stages for Android 9.0 Pie update on Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus. It will take a few weeks more before it starts rolling out to all the devices.

Additionally, Motorola plans to roll out Android 9.0 Pie update almost on every Motorola device before Q2 2019. Lenovo-owned Motorola has only launched Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play smartphones in India. Through its official Motorola India Twitter handle, the company has now confirmed that the Moto G6 Plus smartphone which is the third member of the Moto G6 family will be debuting in India on Sept. 10.

Through a launch event in April, Motorola Brazil had already introduced Moto G6, Moto G6 Play and Moto G6 Plus handsets. After announcing the G6 and G6 Play in June in India, the company is all set to debut the G6 Plus in the coming week. The arrival of the smartphone was first teased in the previous month and today comes the official confirmation on its launch date.

The Moto G6 Plus features a 5.93-inch IPS LCD Max Vision display that supports 18:9 aspect ratio and Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The Snapdragon 630 chipset is present under the hood of the phone. The phone was launched in Brazil in 4 GB and 6 GB RAM options. Both variants feature 64 GB of internal storage and there is a microSD card slot for additional storage. It is preinstalled with Android 8.1 Oreo OS. It draws power from 3,200mAh battery which carries support for Turbo charging.

The back panel of the Moto G6 Plus is equipped with a dual camera setup. It has a f/1.7 aperture 12-megapixel primary sensor enabled with Dual Autofocus Pixel technology which is coupled with 5-megapixel secondary sensor. The “M” logo on the rear shell is embedded with a fingerprint sensor..

It comes with P2i water-repellant nano coating that protects it from water splashes. Its color variants are Deep Indigo and Nimbus.

There is no information available on the pricing of the Moto G6 Plus for India. The 3 GB and 4 GB RAM variants of the Moto G6 are respectively priced at Rs. 13,999 (~$196) and Rs. 15,999 (~$224) whereas the Moto G6 Play is priced at Rs. 11,999 (~$168). Probably, the G6 Plus may hit India with a starting price of Rs. 16,999 (~$238).

After launching the Moto G6 series smartphones in April this year, the Lenovo-owned company has today launched two smartphones of the series in the Indian market — Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play. While the Moto G6 will be exclusively available through Amazon India, the Moto G6 Play will be exclusively available via Flipkart. Further, both these smartphones will also be available through Moto Hub Stores across the country.

The Moto G6 features a 5.7-inch Full HD+ display with screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes in two variants based on the memory configuration — 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage.

It comes with a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 12-megapixel primary camera with 76-degree lens and f/1.8 aperture, and 5-megapixel secondary camera with 79-degree lens and f/2.2 aperture. There’s also dual-tone, dual-lens flash on the back. On the front side, the phone comes equipped with a 16-megapixel front snapper, which is accompanied by a selfie flash.

In India, the pricing for Moto G6 starts at Rs. 13,999 (approximately $209) for 3GB RAM model and Rs. 15,999 (~ $239) for 4GB RAM model. It will be available in Indigo and Silver color options. On the other hand, the Motorola Moto G6 Play will be available at a price of Rs. 11,999 (approximately $179) in two color options — Indigo and Gold. Motorola took the wraps off the Moto G6 family comprising the Moto G6, Moto G6 Play and Moto G6 Plus in an event held in Brazil. The models are yet to be available in many of the markets globally but that hasn’t stopped Motorola from releasing the Kernel source code for the Moto G6 Play. As you know, the Moto G6 Play runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

The source code was recently uploaded to GitHub where it is available for download. Developers and fans of the Moto brand can now have a look at the code and perhaps develop custom ROMs around it. On GitHub, the files are hosted under the device names “aljeter” and “jeter“.

As a reminder, the Moto G6 Play sports a 5.7-inch MAX Vision display with an  HD+ resolution. The device also features a polymer glass back panel. Motorola has launched the new Moto G6 family at an event in Brazil. The sixth generation Moto G series includes the Moto G6, the Moto G6 Play, and the Moto G6 Plus.

Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, and Moto G6 Plus

The Moto G6 series all have a revamped design. Motorola has ditched metal in favor of 3D glass for the rear. It also now sports a new display called MAX Vision with an 18:9 aspect ratio and a redesigned/repositioned fingerprint scanner.

Moto G6 – the Moto G6 has a 5.7” display with a FHD+ display. The back of the Moto G6 is covered in Gorilla Glass 3 on both sides. Under the glass is a Snapdragon 450 processor, 3GB/4GB of RAM, and 32GB/64GB of expandable storage.

There is a fingerprint scanner below the display that can be used to control the device using gestures. There is a 12MP f/1.8 rear camera and an additional 5MP camera for capturing depth of field information. The front camera is an 8MP sensor with its own LED flash.

It runs Android 8.0 Oreo, has Bluetooth 4.2, a USB-C port and a 3,000mAh battery with support for TurboPower fast charging.

Moto G6 Play – It has a 5.7” MAX Vision display too but with an  HD+ resolution. The back is covered in glass but polymer glass in this case. It is powered by a Snapdragon 430 processor and comes in 3GB/4GB RAM variants with 32GB/64GB variants. There is support for storage expansion.

There is a 13MP F/2.0 camera and a 5MP camera secondary camera on the rear. It also has an 8MP front camera with LED flash too. Its fingerprint reader is on the back and it packs a larger 4,000mAh battery.

Moto G6 Plus – The Moto G6 Plus has a larger 5.9” MAX Vision FHD+ display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The glass on the back is Gorilla Glass too. It has a more powerful Snapdragon 630 processor and comes in 4GB/6GB RAM variants with 64GB/128GB of storage. There is also support for up to an additional 128GB via a MicroSD card slot.

It has a 12MP f/1.7 rear camera and a 5MP secondary camera for depth of field. It can also record in 4K and has dual Pixel autofocus.  Selfie camera is 8MP too with a LED flash. A smaller 3,200mAh battery powers it and its fingerprint scanner is below the display. It also has a USB-C port and Bluetooth 5.0.

Price and Availability

The G6 series is already available in Brazil starting today and will be available in Mexico next week. Only the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play will be sold in North America and they will be available in the first week of May.

The Moto G6 Plus is priced at €300, the G6 will sell for €250/$249, and the G6 Play will sell for €200/$199. All these are the prices for the base model.

Lenovo-owned Motorola has scheduled a launch event in Sao Paulo, Brazil on 19th April, where the company is expected to launch its next-generation Moto G-series smartphones which include Moto G6, G6 Plus, and G6 Play.

Now, ahead of the official launch, the company posted a teaser video on Twitter, which revealed some key features of the upcoming smartphone. The teaser video, which features either Moto G6 or Moto G6 Plus, confirms earlier reports that the phone will come with a dual camera setup at the back with dual-tone LED flash.

It also reveals that there’ll be a front-facing fingerprint sensor below the display. As the fingerprint sensor is placed on the front side, the phone won’t be coming with an edge-to-edge display. However, we are expecting thin bezels surrounding the display. Furthermore, the video also displays Motorola branding on the handset.

The video also shows a volume rocker placed next to a textured power button, which looks similar to the Alert Slider seen on OnePlus smartphones. However, the teaser does not hint at any of the specifications of the smartphone.

Previous leaks surrounding the Moto G6-series have revealed hardware details. The Moto G6 is expected to come with a 5.7-inch full-HD+ display with 1080 x 2160 pixels screen resolution and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of onboard storage.

The Moto G6 Plus, on the other side, is reported to have a 5.93-inch full-HD+ IPS display with 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution. It is expected to come equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage.

As of the camera department, both smartphones are rumored to feature a dual camera setup consisting of a 16-megapixel primary camera sensor and an unknown secondary sensor. On the front side, there’ll be 5-megapixel camera sensor for taking selfies and video calling.

After several leaks and certifications, Motorola Moto G6, G6 Plus, and G6 Play have just shown up in detailed renders published by a 15-year-old leakster on Twitter. Besides confirming the design surfaced in the previous leaks, these renders reveal several color variants of the trio. According to the images, Motorola Moto G6 will be released in at least three color variants: Silver, Rose, Blue, and Black. The G6 Plus will be released in Blue and Gold hues, and the cheaper G6 Play will be available in Gold and Blue as well.

Even though the prices will be different depending on the model, Motorola Moto G6, G6 Plus and G6 Play will have very similar designs. But note that the Play version will be the only one which will not feature a front-mounted fingerprint reader. According to leaks, Moto G6 will come with a 5.7-inch display boasting a Full HD+ resolution and the Gorilla Glass protection.

On the hardware side, the handset will feature an octa-core Snapdragon 450 chipset, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. There will also be a dual camera setup with 12 and 5 MP resolution, and a 3000 mAh battery. On the other hand, the Moto G6 Plus will have a 5.93-inch Full HD+ display, a Snapdragon 630 SoC, and 6 GB of RAM, while the Play version will be the most affordable one with a 5.7-inch HD+ display, a Snapdragon 430 SoC and a 4000 mAh battery.

Lenovo-owned Motorola has scheduled a launch event on 19th April where the company is expected to launch its next-generation Moto G-series smartphone — the Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play.

Now, ahead of the phone’s official launch, the Moto G6 Play surfaced online in a short hands-on video. The video, which shows a working unit of the phone, reveals the phone’s design which is in line with the previously leaked renders.

However, the video has been removed by the uploader. In the video, the phone was recognized as the Moto G6 Plus but given the lack of dual camera setup at the back side, the unit seemed to be the Moto G6 Play. According to the previous reports, Moto G6 and G6 Plus will pack dual camera setup while the budget-friendly G6 Play will have a single camera sensor at the back.

Further, Moto G6 Play is the only model among the three to have a fingerprint sensor placed on the back panel, below the camera module. The other two smartphones — Moto G6 and G6 Plus will feature a fingerprint sensor on the front side, below the display.

The specifications of Moto G6 Play were leaked earlier and suggests that the phone will come with a 5.7-inch HD+ Max Vision display with, 18:9 aspect ratio and 1440 x 720 pixels screen resolution. Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core processor from Qualcomm, clocked at 1.4GHz, likely to be Snapdragon 430. It will pack 2GB or 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

The smartphone is said to come with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash and a beauty mode, while it will feature a 13-megapixel camera sensor on the rear. Sadly, there is no mention of all the cool features of the Moto G6, such as live filters, object and landmark recognition, portrait mode, and active photos.

Along with Dolby Audio and Moto Experiences support, the device will also come with a new voice assistant that lets the user use phone hands-free. One of the highlights of the G6 Play will be its battery capacity as the company is expected to offer 4,000mAh battery which is claimed by Motorola to last 36 hours on a single charge.

Recently, the Moto G6-series smartphones were listed online on American retailer Frys. In the listing, the Moto G6 Play was priced at $199.99 with an expected shipping date of 19th May.

Through a recent press release that was outed at the end of March, Lenovo had confirmed that Sergio Buniac is the new Lenovo Mobile Business Group co-president and Motorola chairman and president. The same press release also confirmed that the company would be announcing its first phones for 2018 in April. At that time, it was speculated that the company may announce the Moto G6 series and Moto E5 series.

The rumor mill has already revealed the entire specs and features of the Moto G6 series and Moto E5 series. Lenovo owned Motorola should announce the new Moto series in Q2 2018. There have been lots of leaks in the last 2 months and we already have an idea of what to expect. However, American online store, Frys, already has the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play listed with lots of new information about both devices.

Moto G6

For the 6th-gen Moto G, Lenovo is switching to the trending 18:9 display and it has dubbed it Max Vision. The one on the G6 is 5.7” with a Full HD+ display with Gorilla Glass protection.

The back of the G6 has also gotten a redesign. Gone is the metal back and in its place is 3D glass. But not all has changed in the new Moto G6. For instance, it still comes with the series’ signature water-repellent coating.

The Moto G6 packs dual rear cameras but Frys doesn’t mention the pixel count for the sensors. It does say the front camera is an 8MP sensor with its own flash and also goes into detail about the new features of the camera software.

Selective focus and selective black and white are some of the old features that make a comeback but the new features are cool too. You can now add face filters in real time or pick a single color to pop while the others are black and white after taking a picture.

The camera also supports landmark recognition, object recognition, text scanning, and active photos which is just like live photos on iPhones. It also has support for Face Unlock.

The Moto G6 still has its fingerprint scanner in front and it does more than just unlock your phone. You can set it to unlock apps and also access websites with passwords on your laptop using a feature called Moto Key.

Motorola also says the fingerprint scanner can be used for navigation. Swiping to the left takes you back, a right swipe takes you to recent apps, a tap takes you home, and a long press locks the phone.

We all know Motorola phones run near stock Android with the addition of some pretty useful features. The famous Moto Actions are still there which lets you twist your wrist twice to unlock the camera or chop twice to turn on the flashlight.

But there is also Moto Display which lets you see new notifications or reply to messages without unlocking the phone. The Moto G6 will also never turn off the display as long as it senses that you are still looking at it. There is also a built-in blue light filter.

Frys doesn’t mention some key specs like the processor type and RAM but says it is a 1.8GHz octa core chip with 32GB of storage. This variant likely has 3GB of RAM.

The Moto G6 has a 3000mAh battery with support for TurboPower fast charging. It also has a FM radio, Dolby Audio, and a MicroSD card slot.

Frys says the Moto G6 is $249.99 and is expected to ship May 10. This means a launch should be scheduled for April.

Moto G6 Play

Lenovo is releasing a Play variant of the Moto G6 this year. It has a 5.7” 18:9 Max Vision display like the G6 but with a 1440 x 720 (HD+) resolution.

It has a 5MP front camera with LED flash and a beauty mode, while a 13MP sensor sits on the rear. Sadly, there is no mention of all the cool features of the Moto G6 like live filters, object and landmark recognition, portrait mode, and active photos.

The Moto G6 Play’s selling point is its 4,000mAh battery which Motorola boasts should last 36 hours on a single charge. The phone also has a fingerprint scanner, a microSD card slot, Dolby Audio, and supports Moto Experiences (Moto Display and Moto Actions). There is also a new voice assistant that lets you use your phone hands-free.

The Moto G6 Play is powered by an unspeicified 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor with 32GB of storage. It is priced at $199.99 and is expected to ship May 17.

Motorola is expected to launch the Moto G6 and G6 Play sometime this year and we believe the launch is close by. The renders of the G6 have now appeared online along with the G6 Play. The images of the G6 are quite similar to the ones we saw on TENAA recently.

Both the Moto G6 and G6 Play closely resemble their predecessors but let us highlight the differences between both models. The images show the Moto G6 lacks a rear fingerprint scanner but will instead pack a front fingerprint sensor. While the Moto G6 Play will come with a rear fingerprint sensor with the company’s logo also placed on the fingerprint scanner. Other than that, we seem to be looking at two devices with similar designs. Both devices utilize on-screen buttons, while the design of their rear-facing camera setups looks similar. But while the Moto G6 will hip with two rear-facing cameras, the G6 Play houses a single rear camera sensor.

As for the specifications, the Moto G6 is expected to feature a 5.7-inch FullHD+ display with 2160 x 1080p resolution and a dimension of 154.5×72.2×8.3mm. There will be an Octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz at the helm of affairs and that is believed to be a Snapdragon 450 chipset going by previous leaks. The processor will be paired with a 4GB RAM while a 3000mAh battery will keep the lights on. The device will also pack dual rear cameras comprising a 12MP main sensor + 5MP secondary sensor. There is no word yet on when the G6 line up will be officially unveiled.

On the other hand, the Moto G6 Play will sport a 5.7-inch HD+ (1440 x 720) display, and be fueled by the Snapdragon 430 64-bit quad-core processor. The device will also pack a 13-megapixel snapper at the rear while under its hood will be a massive 4000mAh battery. From the look of things, the Moto G6 will be costlier than its sibling. Aymar de Lencquesaing who served as the president of the Lenovo-owned Motorola has left the firm. It has been officially announced that Sergio Buniac will be taking over as the new Chairman and President. The company also confirmed that its first phones will be unveiled next month.

Buniac has been working with Motorola for 22 years and he was recently appointed as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Latin America wing. The recent years have been quite challenging for the company. In 2012, Google had acquired Motorola’s consumer phone business and two years later it was taken over by Lenovo.

Earlier in this month, Motorola had reportedly laid off a large number of employees from its Chicago. Motorola had reportedly invested $200 million in the advertising of the Moto Z2 Force. However, a report from November last year had claimed that a dismal number of 145,000 units of the Z2 Force were sold by the top four carriers in the U.S. The Motorola handsets have received lukewarm response in China. Hence, the company has reportedly resurrected the Lenovo smartphone brand by introducing the newly announced Lenovo S5 smartphone.

The press release that confirms Buniac as the new president also reveals that the company will be launching its new products in the coming month. The Moto E5 and G6 series have been recently certified in Indonesia. Motorola’s upcoming smartphones in the Moto G-series, as well as Moto E-series, have been leaked online. While we already know pretty much everything about the devices, except the pricing, another leak related to the Moto G6 Play has surfaced online.

Images of the Moto G6 Play have been leaked online through Taiwan’s certification agency NCC. Among other devices in the G-series, Motorola‘s Moto G6 Play is expected to be the most affordable model.

Recently, the phone’s specifications were leaked online through benchmarking website Geekbench. The phone will feature a 5.7-inch HD display with screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Under the hood, it is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 processor along with 3GB of RAM.

The phone will be running Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box and the device will be fuelled by a 4,000mAh battery. It will feature a 16MP camera on the back, as well as on the front panel. There’s also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

One of the leaked images shows the box contents, including earphones. This suggests that the phone will retain the 3.5mm audio jack. The Moto G6 Play will be launched along with Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus.

The company is also gearing up to launch new phones in Moto E-series. Lenovo-owned Motorola is expected to launch three models in this series — Moto E5, Moto E5 Plus, and Moto E5 Play. The Moto E5 Plus, along with Moto E5 has been certified by FCC in the previous month.

According to the latest report, the Moto E5 Plus could come in two variants — one with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor and another with a MediaTek MT675X processor. The report further suggests that the entire 2018 Moto E-range will come with dual rear camera setups.

Couple of renders of the Moto G6 Plus have surfaced in the recent to reveal its design. Today, a new image of the Motorola phone has surfaced to show that it will be arriving in five different color options.

The image show below shows that the Moto G6 Plus would be arriving in colors like Silver, Gold, White, Blue and Cyan. The handset bears resemblance with the Moto X4 that was launched last year. Like the Moto X4, the G6 Plus is expected to arrive with a metal and glass combination. The dual camera setup along with the dual-LED flash are present inside the round-shaped camera housing.

The front view of the phone suggests that it will be arriving with a full screen design. The bottom bezel features the branding of the company along with a thin-shaped home button that could be embedded with a fingerprint sensor.

Codenamed as Teller, the Moto G6 Plus is rumored to be fitted with a 5.93-inch display that will carry support for Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. According to Blass, the Moto G6, G6 Plus and G6 Play are respectively codenamed as Blaine, Teller and Ashley. Just as the Moto G5 and G5 Plus phones were unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February last year, it is speculated that the Moto G6 series may get announced at MWC 2018 in the next week. As of this writing, Motorola is yet to confirm on the launch event for the Moto G6 series phones.

Leaked information has revealed that the Moto G6 will be featuring a 5.93-inch display that will supporting FHD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 450 chipset may power the phone. There is only little we do not know about the Moto G6 series at the moment. 3D renders, official renders, and specs have all been revealed in the last couple of weeks. However, there is still more news. The Moto G6 Play has been seen on Geekbench and it confirms some of the features we already know.

The device was benchmarked earlier today as the motorola moto g(6) play. It runs Android 8.0.0 Oreo, is powered by the msm8937 a.k.a Snapdragon 430, and has 3GB of RAM.

The Snapdragon 430 was announced in 2015 but we are not surprised it is still appearing in phones just like its sibling, the Snapdragon 625. Unlike the newer SD450, its cores are clocked at 1.4GHz and its GPU is the Adreno 505.

The phone scored 472 points in the single-core test and 1801 points in the multi-core test.

Hello Moto fans! Here’s one leak that you might find interesting. A tipster has leaked yet another render of the expected Moto G6 on Twitter. Not only that, he also revealed some juicy details of Motorola’s 2018 smartphone offerings, including their names and Touch ID locations.

The Moto G6 has been a regular in leaks over the past few weeks. The G6 series comprises of the G6, G6 Play and G6 Plus but this leaked render (pictured above) is said to be that of the Moto G6 and we can confirm that to some extent based on previous leaks.The Moto series are all said to feature the 18:9 aspect ratio and we can see that in the render. More importantly, the leak also includes details of Motorola 2018 smartphones and the tipster attributed the leaked details to Alibaba suppliers. This year, the smartphones that Motorola would be launching is given to include the Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, Moto G6 Plus. Others include the Moto E5, Moto X5, Moto Z3 Play and the Moto Z3. On the location of touch ID, the Moto G6 Plus and G6 Play are detailed to pack a front fingerprint sensor while the Moto G6 will have a rear-mounted one. The Moto E5 is also listed as featuring a rear fingerprint sensor as well as the Moto Z3 Play packs a side fingerprint sensor. Also of interests are the Moto X5 and Moto Z3 which are said to utilise 3D Front Facing Camera (FFC) as their own Face ID unlock technology. The source stated that it is unclear if they would still pack a fingerprint sensor and the location of the sensor. Motorola is expected to announce a couple of its latest offerings including the G6 series later this month at Mobile World Congress 2018 which begins on February 26 but a number of the listed models are likely a long way from being launched. The Moto G6 series have been in the news a lot lately. Yesterday, it was confirmed that all three phones in the lineup will feature displays with an 18:9 aspect ratio. More leaks on all three devices have surfaced.

Moto G6 Plus

According to the source – Andri Yatim (@HeyAndri) who took to Twitter to reveal the details, the Moto G6 Plus will come with the Nexus 6′ 3250mAh battery. The Motorola-made Nexus 6 actually has a 3220mAh battery but 3250mAh isn’t far off, so we’ll give him a pass for that.

He also adds that the G6 Plus will be listed as the LNV-G6P. We believe LNV is short for Lenovo and G6P is of course G6 Plus. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 630, said to have undergone some tuning for battery life and GPU performance. Price for the Moto G6 Plus is put at Rs. 17,000 (~$265).

Moto G6

For the Moto G6, we get to see two new press renders that show the phone in a new silver color variant, as well as some few specs, and a price tag.

The phone will come with the Snapdragon 450 mobile platform, have NFC, and have a 3000mAh battery. It will be be available in Q2 2018 with a Rs. 15,000 (~$234) price tag.

The new render is similar to the previous ones we have seen, save for the color which is silver. It has dual rear cameras with a near identical design as that of the Moto X4. The only difference is the position of the LED flash which is below the sensors in the Moto G6.

The back is said to be made of glass. A Motorola logo is beneath the cameras and a secondary mic lies at the bottom of the phone.

The front of the phone also looks very much like that of the Moto X4 with a few changes. There are just two holes on opposite sides of the earpiece which house the front camera and a sensor. However, there are reports it will have a selfie LED flash.

One major change coming to the next gen Moto G phone is the shape of the home button/fingerprint scanner. It is still pill-shaped but has been made thinner and longer but still doubles as a fingerprint scanner.

Moto G6 Play

The Play series are back after taking a 1-year break. It is said that the Moto G6 Play will come with a Snapdragon 430 processor and a 4,000mAh battery. Even though it has the biggest battery, the price is the lowest at Rs. 12,000 (~$187).

A new Motorola device has just been certified in Taiwan by NCC ( National Communications Commission), which is the Taiwanese equivalent of the American FCC. On the NCC listing, the smartphone is identified by the code name Moto XT-1922 and it should be the code for the Moto G6 Play. In case you don’t know, it is the upcoming variant of the G6 which will distinguish from the standard version for its lower-end specs and its more affordable price. It will launch at MWC 2018. Sadly, no info has surfaced about the specs of the budget handset on the NCC listing, but the famous leakster @OnLeaks has already shared some renders of this device.

According to the renders, even though Motorola Moto G6 Play will be very affordable, it will have a very attractive design. There is a glossy back cover which makes us think that the rear side may be made of glass, but we do not exclude that it may be just polycarbonate, considering that it is a cheap device. On the back, there is a single camera, a LED flash and a fingerprint reader which contains the company logo in the middle. The display has narrow bezels and it seems to have an 18:9 aspect ratio.

The front camera has a LED flash and it will allow shooting selfies even with low light conditions. A 3.5 mm headphone jack will not be missing, but there is still a micro USB port to charge the battery. According to speculations, Motorola Moto G6 Play will come with a 5.7-inch display showing images at an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. It is expected to sport an octa-core Snapdragon 430 chipset by Qualcomm, 2 or 3 GB of RAM and 16 or 32 GB of internal storage depending on the variant. The battery should be big with at least 4000 mAh, but it may not charge very quickly considering that the phone has still a micro USB port.

Motorola skipped the Play series last year, instead we got a new “S” sub-series, at least for the G5 and G5 Plus. This year the series is making a comeback and renders of the Moto G6 Play have leaked online. These renders come a few days after that of the Moto E5 and are from the same source too.

From the images, it appears skipping a year has done the Play series some good. The Moto G6 Play is shown to sport an 18:9 display, though the bezels are not as small as we have seen on other devices.

There is no physical home button on the chin, which in some models double as a fingerprint scanner. Instead, it is home to the manufacturer’s name which makes us wonder why the size wasn’t reduced a bit more. The forehead on the other hand is moderately sized. It is home to a notification LED, sensors, front camera, and the earpiece. It also has a LED flash on the right.

The rear of the Moto G6 Play doesn’t look bad either. The phone is curved on both sides to allow for a better grip. Leaker @OnLeaks says its made of glass but we think this is just polished metal. Motorola doesn’t use glass for the entry-level and lower mid-range category and it doesn’t seem it will be doing that soon.

For the camera setup, Motorola is sticking to its circular design but its switching to that of the Moto X4; which has vertical strokes surrounding the circle housing the sensor and flash. Beneath the camera is the famous Motorola batwing logo. There are rumors that this will be the new home of the fingerprint scanner. While that will definitely be cool, best believe not all models will have a fingerprint scanner.

The rest of the design are not out of the usual. Volume rocker and power button are on the right side, 3.5mm audio jack sits at the top, and there is a micro USB port at the bottom.

With respect to specs, the Moto G6 Play is speculated to come with a 5.7” 1440 x 720 display, a Snapdragon 430 processor, 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of storage. It will measure 155.4 x 72.2 x 8.94 (9.34mm with the camera bump) and pack a 4,000mAh battery.

Yesterday, Droid-Life had revealed the leaked renders of the upcoming 2018 Motorola smartphone such as Moto G6 series, Moto Z3 series and Moto X5. Earlier in this week, My Smart Price, an Indian publication had also revealed a leaked render of the forthcoming Moto E5 smartphone. The same publication has now released fresh renders of the Moto G6, Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play. Also, some leaked shots of a prototype of Moto G6 Plus have also surfaced.

Moto G6 and G6 Plus

According to the Indian publication, the Moto G6 lineup revealed in new renders show that these phones will be sporting a metal and glass combination design. Also, the rear design of these phones resembles with the Moto X4 that was unveiled last year.

The chin of the Moto G6 and G6 Plus smartphones are equipped a “motorola” placed above a thin-sized home button that is embedded with fingerprint reader. A batwing-like Moto logo is present on the back panel of these phones.

The dual-LED enabled dual camera setup is available on the Moto G6 and G6 Plus. These smartphones also feature a dedicated LED flash for the selfie camera.  The Moto G6 is expected to arrive in color choices like Rose God, Black and Silver. The Moto G6 Plus may arrive in same colors as the G6, but it is also speculated that it may come in colors like Black, Dark Teal and Silver. Both the phones are rumored to be respectively priced at $240 and $330.

The following images reportedly belong to a pre-production unit of Moto G6 Plus. These images resemble with the render of the smartphone shown above as well as the images revealed by Droid-Life.

Moto G6 Play

Like the G6 and G6 Plus, the rear design of the Moto G6 Play resembles with Moto X4 and it is also expected to arrive with metal and glass combination body. However, it lacks some features like dual camera setup and front-facing home button. The dimpled logo placed below the rear camera is expected to come integrated with a fingerprint sensor. It also features a “motorola” brand name on it chin.

Also, it is expected to arrive with a conventional display that supports 16:9 aspect ratio. The front-facing camera of the G6 Play is accompanied by a LED flash. It may arrive in the market in color options like Dark Charcoal, Deep Blue and Gold.

Last year, Motorola had released the Moto G5 and G5 Plus smartphones in February followed by their improved versions called Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus in August. In October last year, well-known tipster Evan Blass had claimed that Motorola will be releasing Moto G6 Play alongside the Moto G6 and G6 Plus smartphones in 2018. Today, Droid-Life has revealed the renders of the Moto G6 lineup along with their key specs.

Moto G6 Plus

Moto G6 Plus is speculated to arrive with a 5.93-inch display. The publication claims that the display will be supporting Full HD+ resolution which means that it may offer an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Snapdragon 630 chipset that drives the Moto X4 Android One smartphone will be present under the hood of the Moto G6 Plus.

The Moto G6 Plus is expected to arrive in RAM variants like 3 GB, 4 GB and 6 GB and it is likely to available in storage choices like 32 GB and 64 GB. It may include a rear-facing dual camera setup that will include a 12-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel sensor. For snapping selfies, it will be equipped with a 16-megapixel shooter. A 3,200mAh battery will be fueling the Moto G6 Plus and it will be featuring a front-mounted fingerprint scanner. The G6 Plus is likely to cost $330.

Moto G6

The Moto G6 is rumored to house a smaller FHD+ resolution supporting display of 5.7 inches. Like G6 Plus, it is slated to produce an aspect ratio of 18:9.  The Snapdragon 450 chipset that powers few smartphones like Vivo V7+ and Xiaomi Redmi 5 will be present under the hood of the Moto G6.

The Moto G6 is expected to arrive in models like 32 GB storage + 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage + 4 GB of RAM. It may house the same dual camera setup and selfie snapper that will be available on the G6 Plus. The G6 is rumored to include a front-facing fingerprint scanner and a 3,000mAh battery. It may arrive in the market with a price tag of $240.

Moto G6 Play

The Moto G6 Play is speculated to arrive with a 5.7-inch display that will be supporting HD resolution of 720p. There is no confirmation on whether it will be supporting 18:9 aspect ratio like the other G6 series phones. It is rumored to feature a huge battery of 4,000mAh capacity. Unlike the G6 and G6 Plus smartphones, the fingerprint scanner will be placed on the rear panel of the G6 Play as it does not feature a home button. As of this writing, there is no offer information available on the specs of the Moto G6 Play.

In 2017, the Moto G5 and G5 Plus smartphones were showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 event in February. Hence, it is speculated that the Lenovo-owned Motorola may announce the Moto G6, G6 Plus and G6 Play smartphones at MWC 2018 in the next month.

This year Motorola added a bunch of new phones to its lineup. In addition to the Moto E, Moto G, and Moto Z series, we saw the launch of the Moto C series and the return of the Moto X. Motorola also refreshed the G series six months after it launched. However, one phone the didn’t get a release this year is the Play variant of the Moto G series.

The first iteration of the Moto G Play was released last year as part of the 4th generation Moto G series. It packed less powerful specs than the Moto G4, such as a smaller display and battery.

Next year will see the return of Play to Lenovo's Moto G lineup in the form of the Moto G6 Play (alongside the G6 and G6 Plus).

According to Evan Blass, the 6th generation Moto G will see the return of the Play Variant. The Moto E series will also get a Play variant for the first time. So that is two extra phones for next year’s lineup. The lineup for both series according to Evan is as follows:

The announcement has gotten mixed reviews. While some are excited about it, others say the lineup is already saturated with phones that differ only slightly. There is also the case of some phones not getting support after their release.
