The revised pricing takes effect immediately and touches both its budget and mid-range portfolio.

Over the past few months, smartphone makers have been dealing with higher component costs, currency fluctuations, and ongoing supply chain pressure. This in turn, is directly affecting consumers, and Motorola’s latest revision fits neatly into that pattern.

Motorola hikes Moto G and Edge series prices in India

The price hike affects three devices across the Moto G and Edge lineups, including the Moto G35, Moto G57 Power, and Motorola Edge 60 Fusion. The increases vary depending on the variant, but in most cases, buyers are now paying between Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 more than before.

For the Moto G35, the base 4GB + 128GB variant now costs Rs 12,499, up from Rs 11,999. The higher-end 8GB + 128GB version sees a steeper jump, going from Rs 12,999 to Rs 13,999.

The Moto G57 Power, a higher-end phone in Motorola’s budget lineup, has also seen price changes. Its 8GB + 128GB model now retails at Rs 15,999, compared to its earlier price of Rs 14,999.

The biggest increase is on the mid-range Motorola Edge 60 Fusion. The 8GB + 128GB variant now costs Rs 22,999 (up from Rs 20,999), while the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB variants have climbed to Rs 24,999 and Rs 26,999, respectively.

For buyers, the right time to purchase a phone is getting harder to predict. Prices that were once stable for months are now more fluid, even for devices that have been on the market for a while.

Motorola is finally moving into the book-style foldable space. The new Moto Razr Fold has started showing up on retail listings in China, confirming that pre-orders will begin on May 31 in the country.

Interestingly, buyers in the UK will get access sooner. Motorola UK posted on X on March 27 that pre-orders there would open in 15 days, meaning the wait is nearly over. The phone was already introduced at MWC earlier this year, but it’s only now starting to appear in a more consumer-facing way.

The Razr Fold runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, paired with 16GB of RAM. That’s more than enough for running multiple apps at once. The battery is also on the larger side at 6,000mAh. It supports 80W wired and 50W wireless charging, along with reverse charging.

There’s also support for the Moto Pen Ultra, which suggests Motorola wants this to double as a productivity device, not just something for media consumption.

The display setup looks fairly typical for a foldable, but with some interesting choices. Inside, there’s an 8.09-inch LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. On the outside, the 6.56-inch display goes up to 165Hz, which is a bit unusual for a foldable. Although how much that matters in daily use is another question.

In terms of size, it comes in at around 9.9mm folded and 4.6mm unfolded, weighing about 244 grams. Its’a bit heavier like the Galaxy Z Fold7 (215g) and the Honor Magic V6 (219g).

The camera setup includes three 50MP sensors on the back: a main, ultra-wide, and a 3x telephoto. For selfies, there’s a 32MP camera on the outer display and a 20MP one inside.

Pricing is listed at €1,999, which puts it right alongside other premium foldables. That’s not surprising, though it does make the usual question of value a bit harder to answer.

There are still a few unknowns, especially around availability in different regions, but with pre-orders nearing, those details should start to clear up soon.

Motorola doesn’t seem done with the Edge 70 lineup just yet. Even with multiple models already out, a new leak suggests the company is preparing to add at least three more options to the mix.

Details shared by tipster Evan Blass on X mention the Edge 70 Pro, Edge 70 Pro+, and Edge 70 Pro Lite. Internally, these are said to go by the codenames “Terrain,” “Terrain+,” and “Terrain Lite.” That would push the Edge 70 family even further, which already includes the standard Edge 70, along with the Fusion, Fusion+, and the higher-end Motorola Signature variant. It’s a slightly crowded lineup at this point, but it also gives Motorola room to target different price brackets.

There isn’t much in terms of confirmed specs yet, but one of the upcoming models has already left a small trail. A device believed to be the Edge 70 Pro (model number XT2607-1) showed up in Brazil’s Anatel certification database earlier this year.

The listing mentions a 6,500mAh battery, which is on the larger side, along with 90W wired charging and support for wireless charging. Connectivity features like Wi-Fi 6E and NFC are also present, suggesting this isn’t exactly a budget-focused device.

The naming itself gives a rough idea of how Motorola might position these. The Pro Lite could end up as a more affordable option with a few compromises, while the Pro and Pro+ models likely aim for better performance or optics.

Motorola has been doing this for a while now, releasing slightly different variants across regions, so it wouldn’t be surprising if some of these models are market-specific.

There’s no timeline yet for when these devices will be announced. But with competition in the mid-range segment getting tighter, expanding the lineup like this does make some sense.

Android 16 rollout hasn’t been quick from Motorola (it’s still rolling out), but the Android 17 beta expansion from the brand is turning heads. The company has already announced the Android 17 beta program for many devices, and now a fresh set of devices has joined the party.

Motorola was the first third-party manufacturer to announce the Android 17 beta program for its devices, just a week after Google released the first Android 17 beta. The beta program has largely remained limited to mid-range Motorola phones, but the latest batch also includes some high-end models, such as the Razr 60 Ultra and Motorola Signature.

5. Go to the MFN Beta Testing Opportunities page to see a testing opportunity for your Motorola device.
6. Tap on the registration link for your Motorola phone.
7. Fill in the required details and submit your application.

Please keep in mind that Motorola may send emails regarding your beta application. So, remember to check your inbox regularly, including the spam folder.

The foldable maintains its clamshell form factor with dimensions of 171.3 x 74.1 x 7.8mm unfolded and 88.0 x 74.1 x 15.8mm folded. The camera bump pushes the total thickness to 9.6mm and 17.63mm, respectively. This represents a slight increase from the Razr 60 Ultra’s 7.2mm and 15.7mm measurements, suggesting internal modifications likely targeting battery capacity or camera components.

Display specifications remain static: a 7-inch internal foldable screen paired with a 4-inch cover display, matching the previous generation’s configuration.

Design alterations are minimal. The left edge now features a dedicated Moto AI button, while power and volume controls stay right-mounted. The bottom houses a USB Type-C port, speaker grille, microphone, and SIM slot. A secondary microphone sits topside.

In a new development, the listing has now been updated with images of the phone. Additionally, the device has received approval from the 3C certification platform in China.

The Razr 70’s 3C certification reveals that it may ship with 33W fast charging. This indicates that the Razr 70 may not offer any improvement in the fast charging department compared to last year’s Razr 60.

Motorola has quietly introduced a new smartphone in its Edge 70 lineup. After launching the Edge 70 Fusion earlier this month and the Edge 70 in October 2025, the company has now added the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion+ 5G. The phone is currently listed on Motorola’s website in Brazil, with no confirmation yet about launches in other regions.

For now, the device appears to be limited to Brazil. Motorola may expand availability to other markets later, possibly across South America. It is also worth noting that the Edge 70 Fusion series can have different hardware depending on the region. The version sold in India, for example, differs from the one sold in other countries.

The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion+ focuses heavily on cameras. It features three 50MP cameras in its class. The main camera uses the Sony LYTIA 710 sensor. The phone also includes a 50MP ultra-wide camera. It houses an enormous 10,001mAh battery, which is far larger than the capacity typically seen in mainstream smartphones. The brand is yet to reveal its design, but it is likely to have the same design language as the existing Z11 Turbo. At present, there’s no information about the phone’s availability outside the Chinese market.

Poco X8 Pro Max – 9,000mAh

The Poco X8 Pro Max is scheduled to launch globally on March 17. It is expected to become the largest battery phone from Poco so far. Reports suggest that the Indian variant may include a 9,000mAh battery, while the global model could feature a slightly smaller 8,550mAh unit.

The device is believed to be a rebranded version of China’s Redmi Turbo 5 Max, which also packs a 9,000mAh battery. If the specifications remain similar, the X8 Pro Max could offer a strong combination of performance and endurance in the upper mid-range segment.

Poco X8 Pro – 7,560mAh

A few years ago, this price range meant making obvious compromises, such as a good-enough processor, average cameras, and software that aged quickly. Fortunately, things are quite different in 2026.

Phones in this segment now come with bright OLED displays, capable chipsets, and batteries that comfortably last a full day. Some even borrow features from devices that cost twice as much. 

Here are the five best smartphones under $500 in March 2026.

Google Pixel 10a

Google’s Pixel A-series has long been the go-to option for people who want a simple Android phone that just works. The Pixel 10a continues that trend. 

Like previous models in the series, the phone focuses heavily on software and camera processing. The camera hardware itself is relatively modest compared to competitors in this list, but Google’s image processing tends to make up for it. 

The Pixel 10a also benefits from Google’s version of Android, which is clean and free of unnecessary extras. The display is a 120Hz OLED panel with a sufficient 2000 nits of brightness. 

However, Google is still using a year-old Tensor G4 chip under the hood. The rest of the Pixel 10 phones have a better Tensor G5 processor. That said, it can handle regular everyday tasks with ease. 

The phone has a 5100mAh Li-Po battery with 30W wired, PD 3.0, and 10W wireless charging support. 

For many buyers, the Pixel 10a is still the safe choice under $500. It’s not designed to stand out in every category, but it avoids major weaknesses.

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro

The Phone (4a) Pro is Nothing’s brand new option for a phone under $500. It keeps the company’s recognizable design language while trying to feel more polished than earlier models.

The phone includes a new Glyph Matrix on the back, which is a circular LED display made up of 137 LEDs. It can show things like a timer, a stopwatch, and such. 

Under the surface, the Phone (4a) Pro runs on a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor and features a 6.83-inch 144Hz AMOLED display with 5000 nits of peak brightness.

As for the camera system, you get a 50MP Sony Lytia 700C sensor for the main camera with optical image stabilization. This is paired with a 50MP Samsung JN5 periscope camera offering 3.5x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide lens. 

Nothing’s software is also fairly clean, which helps the phone feel responsive. The Phone (4a) Pro is not the most powerful option here, but it’s arguably the one with the most personality.

OnePlus 15R

OnePlus has traditionally used its “R” series to deliver strong performance at lower prices, and the 15R follows the same idea.

The phone focuses on two things: speed and battery life. It runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 paired with a dedicated chip that enables 3200Hz of touch sampling rate. 

Speaking of which, it has a 6.83-inch AMOLED display that refreshes at 165Hz. This screen is also PWM capable, HDR 10+, and Dolby Vision certified with a peak brightness of 3600 nits. 

Its biggest highlight, though, is the battery. The 15R includes a 7400mAh battery that can comfortably last through a full day and often stretch into a second day depending on usage. It supports 80W fast charging. 

You also get a fairly decent camera specs of 50MP-megapixel Sony IMX906 main sensor with optical image stabilization, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. There is no dedicated telephoto camera here, so zoom relies on digital cropping.

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion

Motorola’s Edge Fusion series has quietly become one of the more balanced options in the midrange market. The Edge 70 Fusion continues that pattern.

Rather than focusing on one standout feature, the phone aims for overall balance. It includes a capable Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, a smooth6.78-inch curved OLED display, and a relatively clean version of Android 16. 

The device carries a 7000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 68W fast charging, which the company claims can provide a full day’s usage with a short charge.

Its camera hardware includes a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia 710 primary camera with optical image stabilisation. The setup also includes a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera with macro support and a dedicated light sensor.

The Edge 70 Fusion is the most affordable option on this list. Its 8GB + 128GB model is priced at Rs 26,999 (~$300), the 8GB + 256GB version costs Rs 29,999 (~$330), and the 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs 32,999 (~$360). 

Realme 16 Pro

Realme often competes in the midrange market by focusing on big numbers in the spec sheet, and the 16 Pro is no different.

One of the first things you notice is the battery. The phone includes a 700mAh battery, which can easily last more than a day with moderate use. It supports 80W wired charging. 

On the front, it has a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen can reach a whopping 6500 nits of peak brightness and is protected by AGC DT Star D+ glass. 

Cameras include a 200MP main sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide on the back. The front has a 50MP selfie camera. Powering everything is a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max 5G chipset with an Arm Mali G615 GPU. It comes with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. 

Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, face unlock, and all standard sensors.

The midrange market keeps getting better

Looking at these five phones together shows how much the midrange segment has evolved. Not long ago, phones under $500 required obvious compromises, slower processors, weaker cameras, or short software support.

That’s no longer always the case.

Earlier this year, the upcoming Motorola Razr 70 and Razr 70 Ultra were spotted with the respective model numbers XT2657-8 and XT2655-1 at the UAE’s TDRA certification. In a new development, the Razr 70 has now appeared in the database of China’s TENAA certification, revealing key details about its specifications.

The TENAA listing reveals that the Motorola Razr 70 will feature a 6.9-inch OLED screen with an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2640 pixels and a 3.63-inch cover display with a resolution of 1056 x 1066 pixels. For security, it will have a side-facing fingerprint sensor.

Moving on to the optics, the Razr 70 will feature a 32-megapixel front camera and a dual 50-megapixel camera setup on the back. In comparison, the Razr 60 from last year came with a 50-megapixel main camera and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, along with a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

Under the hood, the Razr 70 has a 2.75GHz octa-core chip with 8GB / 12GB / 16GB / 18GB of RAM. It appears that it will have a different chip, as the Razr 60 featured a 2.6GHz Dimensity 7400x SoC.

The Razr 70 may come in storage options such as 128GB / 256GB / 512GB / 1TB. It has a 4,275mAh rated dual-cell battery, with a combination of 1,090mAh and 3,185mAh. Likely, the typical value could be 4,500mAh, the same as the previous generation. Finally, it will measure 171.3 x 73.9 x 7.2mm and weigh around 188 grams. These dimensions are almost identical to the Razr 60.

The Razr 60 series was unveiled in April 2025, and now that the Razr 70 has received TENAA certification, it appears that it may debut later this month or by early April in China. The global launch could follow soon after.

Motorola’s Razr fold has received a DXOMARK camera score of 164, earning the DXOMARK Gold Label for imaging performance. According to DXOMARK’s rankings, this score places the device among the top cameras on foldable smartphones and ranks it 8th overall globally, beating competitors like the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL and the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. Motorola’s recently launched Motorola Signature has also received the same label from the testing lab.

For those unaware, DXOMARK is an independent technology evaluation laboratory that measures the performance of consumer electronics using controlled scientific tests and perceptual analysis. To determine the score, the Razr fold was evaluated using the DXOMARK Camera test suite, which analyzes photo quality, zoom capability, and video performance from a user perspective.

In its findings, DXOMARK reported that the Razr fold performed well in exposure accuracy, dynamic range, and low-light photography. The device produced balanced colors across different lighting conditions, while maintaining good detail and relatively low image noise. The lab also observed accurate skin tone rendering and consistent depth estimation, which helped portrait shots appear natural.

Zoom performance was another area highlighted in the evaluation. The Razr fold includes a dedicated 3x periscope telephoto camera, which produced detailed images with stable color reproduction during testing. Motorola has introduced two new wireless earbuds at MWC 2026 as part of its Moto Things ecosystem. The new models are the Moto Buds 2 Plus and the Moto Buds 2. Both earbuds focus on delivering strong audio performance, active noise cancellation, and smart features in a compact design with Pantone color finishes.

The Moto Buds 2 Plus are designed for users who move between work, calls, and entertainment throughout the day. The earbuds use Sound by Bose technology, tuned to deliver balanced and detailed audio.

They feature 11mm dynamic drivers for deeper bass and Knowles balanced armatures for improved clarity and precision. The earbuds support Hi-Res Audio with the Low-Latency High-Definition Audio Codec (LHDC) for high-quality wireless playback. Spatial Audio is also included to create a more immersive sound experience.

To reduce distractions, the Moto Buds 2 Plus include Dynamic Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). This helps block outside noise while working or traveling. For calls, the earbuds use six microphones with Environmental Noise Cancellation and a high signal-to-noise ratio to deliver clearer voice audio. Users can also enable CrystalTalk AI in the Moto Buds app, which uses AI noise reduction to improve voice clarity in loud environments.

The Moto Buds 2 support Dual Connection and use Bluetooth 6.0 for improved connectivity and faster speeds. A Gaming Mode in the Moto Buds app reduces audio latency for gaming. On supported Motorola devices, users can also access Moto AI features such as Catch Me Up, Pay Attention, and Remember This by holding the earbuds.

Availability

Motorola is set to launch the Edge 70 Fusion on March 2 at MWC 2026, and most details about the device are already known. Alongside the standard model, the company is also working on a higher-end version called the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion+. Official renders of the Plus variant have now surfaced (via YTECHB), revealing its design and some key hardware differences compared to the regular model.

The Edge 70 Fusion+ will feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K quad-curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The phone will also carry IP68 and IP69 certifications for dust and water resistance. Storage configurations are expected to include 8GB and 12GB RAM options paired with 256GB or 512GB internal storage.

One of the biggest upgrades on the Plus model is the camera setup. The device will include three 50MP cameras, consisting of a 50MP selfie camera, a 50MP primary rear camera, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. In comparison, the standard Edge 70 Fusion is expected to offer a 32MP front camera and a 13MP ultra-wide sensor alongside its main camera.

Battery capacity will also be higher on the Fusion+. The device is expected to pack a 7,000mAh battery with support for 68W fast charging.

In terms of design, the Plus model will be available in Pantone Blue Surf, Orient Blue, Sporting Green, and Silhouette color options, similar to the standard version. The rear panel will use a nylon and linen-inspired finish, giving it a textured appearance.

Performance details for the Fusion+ have not been fully confirmed yet. The standard Edge 70 Fusion is expected to use the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor and run Android 16 out of the box. Motorola has also started Android 17 beta testing for the upcoming series in select regions.

Pricing information for the Edge 70 Fusion+ has not been announced so far. More details are expected closer to its official launch.

The smartphone is positioned as the most affordable model in the Edge 70 lineup. While official pricing has not been announced yet, expectations suggest a starting price below ₹25,000, placing it slightly under the Motorola Edge 70. Ahead of the India launch, the device is also scheduled to make its global debut on March 2 before MWC 2026 in Barcelona.

In terms of cameras, the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion will feature a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 primary sensor with Moto AI enhancements. It will be paired with a 13MP ultrawide camera that also supports macro and depth functions. Motorola states that the cameras are Pantone validated for more accurate color and skin tone reproduction. On the front, the phone will include a 32MP selfie camera for photos and video calls. The company has confirmed that all cameras, including the front sensor, will support 4K video recording.

The device will be powered by a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 68W wired fast charging. Despite the large battery capacity, Motorola claims the phone will maintain a slim profile with a thickness of 7.99mm.

The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is expected to offer durability features, including IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance, along with MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification. The handset will also come in Pantone-curated color options: Pantone Blue Surf, Pantone Country Air, and Pantone Silhouette. But I wasn’t expecting a dramatic shift this soon. The company has just announced the Android 17 beta program, becoming the first non-Google brand to do so.

It has been just a couple of days since Google released the first Android 17 beta. We were expecting third-party manufacturers to launch the Android 17 beta program in a few weeks, as has typically been the case in the past, but Motorola had a different plan. The Android 17 beta program is live for Moto Edge 2025, Moto G57, and Moto G57 Power.

The Android 17 beta program for these Motorola smartphones is currently available in select regions, as Motorola posted on the official forum. We’ve listed the devices and supported regions below, along with the direct link to the official beta program page.

While details about this camera are not known, the Lenovo-owned brand advertises that it can capture ultra-clear low-light shots and brighter highlights in videos.

For selfies, the Edge 70 Fusion will have a 32-megapixel front camera. The brand confirmed that all cameras will support 4K video recording.

The Edge 70 Fusion will feature a quad-curved AMOLED panel that supports a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it will support 5200 nits of peak brightness and offer 96.2 percent screen space. It will also offer other features like HDR10+ support, SGS eye protection, and Smart Water Touch 3.0, which will make it possible to use the display with wet fingers.

Motorola has started teasing its next Edge series phone in India, and all signs point to the upcoming Motorola Edge 70 Fusion.

The company hasn’t explicitly named the device in its initial X posts, but the hints are hard to miss. One teaser cleverly played around with the word “fusion,” alongside images of a new handset in bright, textured finishes. Shortly after, Flipkart went live with a dedicated promo page carrying the tagline, “a fusion that gives you the edge.” At that point, the identity was pretty clear.

Color options confirmed

Flipkart’s microsite confirms three color options for India: Pantone Blue Surf, Pantone Country Air, and Pantone Silhouette. All three appear to feature Motorola’s now-familiar leather-inspired textured back, which has become a signature look for the brand’s recent Edge devices.

Earlier global leaks suggested as many as five Pantone shades, including Orient Blue and Sporting Green, but it looks like India may be getting a trimmed-down selection at launch.

The overall design sticks to Motorola’s recent formula: curved display edges, slim bezels, and a distinct camera module that blends into the back panel.

The Android 16 update is finally rolling out to Motorola’s most premium smartphones, Razr 2025 and Razr Ultra 2025, in the US, just as Google has released the first Android 17 beta. Both Razr phones entered Android 16 beta testing about half a year ago, and now, after a long wait, the stable update is finally here.

The Android 16 update for 2025’s Razr smartphones is currently available on T-Mobile and Verizon carriers in the US, as spotted by Ytechb. For the Razr 2025, the update arrives with the firmware version W1UC36H.96-35-1, whereas the Razr Ultra 2025 users can identify the update by the firmware version W1VL36H.59-55-5.

This is the first major OS update for the Razr 2025 and Razr Ultra 2025, which has a massive download size of about 4GB. It’s best to download such large packages over Wi-Fi and make sure the battery is at least 40% charged for a smooth upgrade to Android 16.

While it’s a major OS upgrade, don’t expect major visual changes or groundbreaking features. That said, there are still some useful upgrades and new features that further improve the software experience. It introduces a new notification cooldown feature that prevents you from getting annoyed when an app sends too many notifications from the same app within a short time. It does so by reducing the volume of incoming notifications for that particular app.

Android 16 lets you create custom models based on your needs, in addition to the existing modes, including Do Not Disturb, Bedtime, and Driving. You can also connect to a hotspot of a different device without entering the password, provided that both devices are logged in to the same Google account. The update also brings improvements to hearing aids, protection from malicious apps, and performance upgrades.

While Motorola is busy rolling out the Android 16 update, Google has already started developing Android 17. In fact, the first beta has been out for a few days now, with more to arrive in the coming weeks and months. The stable build could arrive around June or July 2026.
