You can use the dedicated AI Key to access tools such as notification summaries, meeting transcription, image creation, and screen-based recommendations. You should choose the Motorola Edge if you want a premium feature set at a lower price.

Moto G (2026)

You can choose the Moto G (2026) if you want a reliable 5G phone for less than $200. It costs $199.99 and features a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1000 nits of brightness.

You get the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, 4GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of storage. You can increase the storage capacity by up to 1TB with a microSD card.

The rear camera system includes a 50MP main camera and a 2MP macro camera. You also get a 32MP front camera, stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC, and eSIM support.

The 5200mAh battery supports 30W fast charging. You also get a vegan leather finish, although the IP52 rating provides less protection than the Motorola Edge or Moto G Power.

Moto G Power (2026)

The Moto G Power (2026) costs $299.99 and provides a larger FHD+ display, more memory, and stronger durability than the standard Moto G. Its 6.8-inch LCD supports a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1000 nits of brightness.

The phone uses the Dimensity 6300 processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Its cameras include a 50MP main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 32MP front camera.

The Moto G Power has a 5200mAh battery, 30W charging, stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and a headphone jack. Its IP68 and IP69 ratings and MIL-STD-810H certification make it a strong option if you need a durable phone.

Samsung Galaxy A37 5G

Motorola is teaming up with Swarovski again, and a sparkling flip phone is set to debut next month.

The Lenovo-owned company has confirmed it’ll officially unveil a new Swarovski crystal co-branded model at IFA in Berlin in early September. The teaser video shows the back of a Razr-style device, so most people expect it’s based on the Razr 70 (or Razr 2026 in some markets). This follows last year’s special Swarovski Edition of the Razr 60.

The official teasers show a black back cover with a diamond-patterned texture and plenty of crystal embellishments. Leaked renders that surfaced earlier line up with this look, including extra crystals below the external screen and around the hinge. Compared to the flashier Razr 60 Swarovski Edition, this one feels a bit more restrained. The black color keeps it from looking overly flashy while still delivering that signature Swarovski sparkle.

Based on the standard Razr 70, we’re looking at a 6.9″ OLED inner display and a 3.63″ outer screen, plus a battery somewhere in the 4,500–4,800 mAh range. Cameras should match the regular model: dual 50 MP rear sensors and a 32 MP front camera. The base Razr 70 also packs a MediaTek Dimensity 7450X chipset, up to 512 GB of storage, and 30W wired plus 15W wireless charging. This special edition is mainly a cosmetic upgrade.

Motorola hasn’t shared the price or exact release date yet. More details, including availability and any special packaging (like a transparent case that shows off the crystals), are expected at IFA 2026. It’s another step in Motorola’s Brilliant Collection approach of treating its foldables as fashion pieces as much as phones.

Motorola has announced the stable Android 17 rollout in India across its smartphone portfolio. The phased rollout has gone live for the flagship Motorola Signature and will expand to other eligible devices as it progresses.

T.M. Narasimhan, Managing Director at Motorola India, said:

Motorola’s looking a lot more promising this year with its Android 17 rollout. However, the brand usually struggles to keep up with the pace throughout the rollout. Motorola has worked on this, and so we’re expecting a smoother rollout this year.

We’ll update you when the brand expands the Android 17 update to more devices in the Motorola section. For now, let’s quickly go through what the new update has to offer.

Flip phones are a smaller part of the foldable market than book-style models, and 2026 has been a quieter year for clamshell launches. Some brands skipped this generation, while others focused their efforts on larger foldable phones.

The flip phones that did arrive mostly improve on designs we have already seen rather than trying something completely new. Still, there are a few models worth considering. Based on their specs and early testing, these are the five flip phones that stand out in 2026.

Motorola Razr 70 Ultra

The Motorola Razr 70 Ultra keeps the familiar clamshell design, with a 4-inch cover display and a larger 7-inch screen inside. Both are LTPO screens with a 165Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision support. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and comes with up to 16GB of RAM.

As for optics, you get dual 50MP lenses on the rear for wide and ultrawide shots, while there’s a third 50MP sensor for selfies. Keeping things running is a 5000mAh battery with 68W wired and 30W wireless charging support.

Motorola priced the phone at €1,399 in Europe. While it is not the cheapest option, you get a powerful processor, plenty of RAM, and large displays on both the inside and outside.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 is 6.1mm thick when unfolded and weighs 180 grams. It has a 6.9-inch OLED inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a 4.1-inch cover screen that Samsung calls the FlexWindow.

The phone uses the Exynos 2600 in most markets, while select regions get the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Regardless, all versions come with 12GB of RAM. Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip 8 at $1,199, which is $100 more expensive than its predecessor.

The phone has a 4,300mAh battery with support for 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. Those numbers are lower than what Motorola and Xiaomi offer on their latest flip phones, but Samsung claims up to 31 hours of battery life on a full charge

Samsung’s biggest advantage, on conventional or foldable form, has always been the software support. The Z Flip 8 is promised seven major Android updates, giving it one of the longest support periods in the category. It also introduces an AI Assistant Activity Dashboard that shows users what background AI features are doing on the phone.

Xiaomi Mix Flip 2

The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 was the first flip phone with a battery larger than 5,000mAh. It packs a 5,165mAh battery and supports 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Xiaomi says the battery can last around half a day longer than the iPhone 16 Pro in its own tests.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite and features a 6.86-inch inner display and a 4.01-inch cover screen. Both panels offer a 1.5K resolution and up to 3,200 nits of peak brightness.

For cameras, Xiaomi uses a Leica-tuned 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultrawide camera. The phone starts at around 5,999 yuan in China, or roughly $835; that is, the device is currently exclusive to China. Importing is the only option if you’re to get one.

Huawei Pura X

The Huawei Pura X takes a different approach to the flip phone design. Instead of folding down into the usual tall and narrow shape, it folds sideways into a wider format.

It has a 6.3-inch inner OLED display with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The 3.5-inch outer display uses a square 1:1 aspect ratio, giving the phone a look that is quite different from the other models here.

The Pura X is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 9020 chip and is available with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It also has a 4,720mAh battery with 66W wired and 40W wireless charging. The phone has an IPX8 water-resistance rating.

Prices start at around 7,499 yuan, or roughly $1,038. However, Huawei does not officially sell the Pura X outside China, so buyers in other markets would need to import it. If you want a foldable phone that looks different from the usual clamshells, the Pura X is the most interesting option here.

Motorola Razr 70

The standard Motorola Razr 70 keeps much of the same design as the Ultra but costs less. The base model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage starts at €869 in Europe.

It also has a 3.6-inch cover display, while the inner screen is 6.9 inches. As expected, Motorola cuts back on some of the performance and camera hardware compared with the Ultra model.

Still, you get the same basic clamshell design, a large cover screen, a folding inner display, and Motorola’s software experience for considerably less money.

If you want a flip phone from a major brand without spending flagship-level money, the Razr 70 is the best-value option on this list.

Which Flip Phone Should You Buy?

The best choice depends on what matters most to you. The Motorola Razr 70 Ultra has the strongest overall hardware, especially when it comes to the processor and RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 is the better pick if long-term software support is your priority, thanks to its seven major Android updates. The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 stands out for its 5,165mAh battery and dual 50MP Leica camera system.

Meanwhile, the Huawei Pura X is the most unusual option because of its wide folding design. It is worth considering if you want something different and can import the phone. Finally, the Motorola Razr 70 is the most affordable option from a major brand on this list.

With fewer clamshell phones launching in 2026, these five cover most of the main choices currently available. The right one ultimately comes down to whether you value performance, software support, battery life, design, or price most.

Motorola has raised the prices of two of its mid-range phones in India, citing the usual industry-wide cost pressures.

Starting August 25, 2026, the Edge 70 Fusion and Edge 60 Fusion will both cost more. Motorola says the increase is due to rising costs of raw materials and microchips.

The Edge 70 Fusion gets a flat ₹3,000 hike across all four variants. The 8GB/128GB model goes from ₹30,999 to ₹33,999, the 8GB/256GB from ₹32,999 to ₹35,999, the 12GB/256GB from ₹34,999 to ₹37,999, and the 12GB/512GB from ₹37,999 to ₹40,999. The Edge 60 Fusion’s only listed 12GB/256GB version also jumps by ₹3,000, from ₹29,999 to ₹32,999.

These new prices push the phones a bit higher in the mid-range segment. Big festive discounts on the Fusion series may be harder to come by at these levels. If you’re interested in either model, it’s worth checking major e-commerce platforms and Motorola’s official site for any remaining stock still available at the old prices before the change fully kicks in.

As of writing, some Amazon India listings still show the older prices. The Edge 70 Fusion is currently listed at ₹28,999 (8+128GB), ₹33,799 (8+256GB), ₹34,480 (12+256GB), and ₹39,200 (12+512GB), while the Edge 60 Fusion 12+256GB is at ₹29,890.

This follows a trend we’ve seen from several brands in recent months, as global supply-chain pressures on memory and chip components keep pushing retail prices up in India.

This is a script we write every year — listing the best mid-range smartphones you can buy. And there’s a reason we come back to it every year. Mid-range has always been the segment where brands trickle down flagship features, performance, and design choices into something that covers what most people actually need day to day, without a hefty price tag. 

This year, though, the story’s a little different. Our usual pattern is to find out the phones that are aggressively priced and offer the best bang for the buck. But 2026 threw a wrench into that formula. 

The global memory chip shortage, driven largely by AI data centers hoovering up DRAM and NAND supply, has pushed component costs up across the board, and mid-range devices have taken a real hit. Samsung reportedly pushed for as much as a 100% price hike on LPDDR5X memory, and brands everywhere from India to Europe have quietly raised prices on phones that used to sit comfortably under $500. 

So this year, mid-range stretches a bit further up the price ladder than it used to, and some of the phones below cost more than you might expect for the category. What hasn’t changed, fortunately, is the value proposition. You can still expect bright OLED screens, big batteries, and reliable cameras. 

Here are the five best mid-range phones you can get in 2026.  

Google Pixel 10a

You know the Pixel formula by now, and Google didn’t mess with it much this year. The Pixel 10a starts at $499 and offers a 6.3-inch OLED display running at 120Hz with a Tensor G4 chip, 8GB of RAM, and a 5,100mAh battery. 

The camera setup keeps the same 48MP main sensor and 13MP ultrawide from last year’s model, and you also get a loyal seven years of OS and security update promise. The brand also launched the Pixel 10a with recycled cobalt, copper, gold, and tungsten making up more than a third of the phone’s weight.

Nothing here will wow you in a spec sheet comparison, and the design is basically a repeat of the 9a. But if you want a phone you can buy once and stop thinking about for years, this is it.

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro

Nothing has never been shy about wanting its phones to look different, and the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro is no exception. It swaps the brand’s usual plastic build for an aluminum unibody frame, adds a 6.83-inch AMOLED display that hits 144Hz, and carries over the circular Glyph Matrix from the pricier Phone (3), scaled down to 137 individually addressable LEDs on the back. 

Under the hood, it is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Nothing is asking $499 for all this. 

The camera experience isn’t as consistently impressive as what you get from Google’s Pixel lineup, and battery life isn’t its strongest point either. Still, if you care about having a phone that feels a little less generic, the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro is an easy one to recommend.

Samsung Galaxy A57 5G

Samsung’s Galaxy A series has quietly become one of the strongest choices in the mid-range segment, and the Galaxy A57 continues that trend.

The A57 stands out because it feels more expensive than it actually is. Samsung has given it a slim design and a premium-looking glass-and-metal build, while also improving the hardware over the previous-generation A56.

It has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display at 120Hz, a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging, IP68 water and dust resistance, and a 50MP main camera backed by a 12MP ultrawide and 5MP macro lens. 

It is a particularly good choice if you already use Samsung devices. One UI makes you right at home, Samsung’s ecosystem is easy to work with, and the company is offering six years of OS upgrades and security patches. A recent teardown even scored the Galaxy A57 highly for repairability.

The downside is that it isn’t the most exciting phone for gaming. If raw performance is your priority, there are better options in this list.

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion

Motorola’s Edge Fusion lineup has always been about finding the sweet spot between price and features, and the Edge 70 Fusion is just that. It gives you enough hardware that you won’t feel like you’re settling.

The phone packs a 6.7-inch pOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 5200 nits peak brightness, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, and a large 5,200mAh battery with 68W fast charging. The camera setup is led by a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, joined by a 13MP ultrawide camera.

OnePlus Nord 6

If the Pixel 10a is the sensible choice and the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro is the one you buy with your heart, the OnePlus Nord 6 is the phone for people who just want things to be fast.

It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of RAM, giving it considerably more performance headroom than most phones in this price range. 

The phone also has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, while its 9000mAh battery gives it plenty of endurance. OnePlus supports that battery with 80W fast charging, so even when you do run it down, you don’t have to leave it plugged in for long.

The camera system isn’t the main reason to buy the Nord 6, and its design isn’t as distinctive as Nothing’s either. But that’s fine. OnePlus wants you to spend the money on performance and battery with the Nord 6.

The biggest catch with buying a OnePlus phone in 2026 comes down to availability. Since OnePlus has pulled out of almost every international market except India, the Nord 6 is really only a practical choice if you live there.

While it’s an official list published in an official blog post (in Spanish), it may not be complete. Some phones are missing from the list, including the Edge 50 Neo and Edge 60 Neo. Both devices have been guaranteed five major Android upgrades, and that makes them eligible for Android 17.

There are a few more devices that should be on the list as per the existing update policy. We believe Motorola will still release the update to those missing devices from the list, without a prior announcement.

When will your Motorola phone receive Android 17?

Unlike other brands, Motorola doesn’t really publish a release schedule. So, there’s no way you can predict when your phone is going to get the next software upgrade, Android 17. Motorola, if you’re reading this, that’s not encouraging at all. You should provide users with a detailed rollout schedule, so they stop checking for updates without a clue.

Motorola devices with beta releases already out typically receive a stable update in the next few weeks. Remaining users can regularly check for updates via Settings or visit our Motorola section to know when the update arrives.

Motorola Android 17 update: Major changes and new features

The Android 17 update for Motorola phones brings visual and functional upgrades to Live Updates. The UI element is now integrated into the camera cutout in the middle (previously on the left side of the status bar), similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island. Motorola has also expanded its compatibility to work with most of your day-to-day apps.

Motorola has updated the Settings page UI, which now looks more like Pixel UI. There are new status bar icons, a new volume interface, and new icons for Wi-Fi, cell tower, and battery. There’s also a new Classic Control Center. The HelloUI app drawer now features improved background blur, a create folder button, and removed app titles. The apps now appear in a 3×3 grid instead of 2×2, and they appear tinted.

Android 17 also introduces new clock faces, typography, and style options for a more personalized lock screen experience. However, there’s still no depth effect feature. Motorola has made it easier to take screenshots (now a three-finger swipe-down gesture) or enable split-screen (now a three-finger swipe-up gesture). After a long four-month wait since the Android 17 beta registration went live for the Edge 50 Ultra, Motorola is finally pushing the beta build to users. That update package has a massive download size of 5.24 GB, and that means users can expect to see some major upgrades.

A Motorola Edge 50 Ultra user on Reddit confirmed the rollout. The update comes with the firmware version A171UVH.42, which also includes the August 2026 security patch, besides core Android 17 features and upgrades.

The update is rolling out to Edge 50 Ultra users who previously signed up for the Android 17 beta program. If you’re among them, the update should arrive on your device at any moment. You can manually check for updates from the System update section in the Settings app.

What’s new in Android 17 beta for Motorola devices?

The changelog is unfortunately thin on details, as you can see in the screenshot above. However, we already know pretty much everything that Android 17 beta offers on Motorola devices. The update introduces new icons for the status bar, a new Classic Control Center, Landscape Stereo, Enhanced HDR Brightness, and Battery health. According to the official community post, the Android 17 beta program for the Edge 70 Max is live in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) and India. This doesn’t just mean the beta build is rolling out; it means the company is now allowing people to register for the beta testing opportunity.

As always, the number of testers should be limited, and you must therefore submit your participation as early as possible to stand a chance. Motorola has taken a different approach with the Edge 70 Max. While it is the most powerful smartphone the company has launched under the Edge series, it is not intended to replace the more premium Motorola Signature. Instead, Motorola has positioned the Edge 70 Max as a performance-focused flagship for users who care more about raw power, battery life, and display quality than flagship-grade photography. Starting at Rs 54,999, it enters a competitive segment occupied by the iQOO 15R and OnePlus 15R, while the Motorola Signature, priced from Rs 64,999, caters to buyers looking for a more premium camera experience and longer software support despite sharing the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. After using the Edge 70 Max as my daily driver, here’s what it gets right and where it falls short.

A premium build with a display that steals the show

The Motorola Edge 70 Max looks and feels every bit like a flagship. I received the Aqua Grey variant, and its matte glass finish gives the phone an understated yet premium appearance. The aluminum frame adds to the solid in-hand feel, while Gorilla Glass 7i protection on both sides, MIL-STD-810H certification, and IP68/IP69 ratings provide reassurance against everyday wear and accidental splashes.

Although the matte finish resists fingerprints exceptionally well, there is one thing worth noting. Motorola does not include a protective case in the box. During my review period, a minor drop caused slight discoloration on one edge of the frame. It is nothing severe, but it is enough to recommend investing in a case from day one.

At over 220 grams, the Edge 70 Max is certainly not a lightweight smartphone. Personally, I have been using phones weighing more than 200 grams, so the weight never bothered me. However, anyone moving from a lighter device will certainly notice it. The phone also isn’t particularly comfortable for users with smaller hands because of its large footprint.

The 6.8-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display is one of the biggest highlights of the phone. I would comfortably rate it a 9 out of 10. The bezels are slim, the panel looks sharp, and HDR content on YouTube and Netflix looks excellent. Outdoor visibility was good enough during my usage, and I never experienced eye strain even during extended reading sessions. The stereo speakers complement the display well, making the phone an excellent companion for streaming movies and TV shows.

Flagship performance meets a clean Android experience

Performance is exactly where the Edge 70 Max shines. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, the phone handled everything I threw at it without breaking a sweat. App launches were quick, multitasking remained smooth, and I never noticed lag or unexpected slowdowns during regular use.

I did not spend time gaming on the phone, so I cannot comment on sustained gaming performance. However, during day-to-day use involving photography, social media, messaging, web browsing, and video streaming, the phone remained consistently responsive. More importantly, I did not experience any major heating issues even after prolonged usage.

The software experience is another strong point. Motorola ships the phone with Android 16 running Hello UX, which continues to be one of my favourite Android interfaces. It stays close to stock Android while adding thoughtful customisation options, clean animations, useful gestures, and attractive Always-on Display styles without becoming cluttered.

One thing I noticed, however, is that I did not receive any software update during my review period. Motorola promises three Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates, but considering this is a flagship-priced smartphone, I expected a more generous software commitment. Competitors like the OnePlus 15R and Motorola’s own Signature offer longer support, making the Edge 70 Max feel slightly behind in this department.

Motorola has also introduced its new Qira AI platform alongside the Edge 70 Max. Unfortunately, my review unit was the 8GB + 256GB variant, which does not support these AI features at the moment. As a result, I was unable to evaluate Qira or access it using the dedicated AI button. Buyers considering the base variant should be aware of this limitation.

Good enough cameras, but photography isn’t its strong suit

Unlike the Motorola Signature, the Edge 70 Max is not designed as a camera-first smartphone. Motorola has clearly prioritized performance over imaging, and that becomes evident once you look at the hardware.

Even so, the dual-camera setup performs well in favourable lighting conditions. The primary camera captures pleasing colors with good detail and produces photos that are more than adequate for everyday photography. For casual users, social media uploads, and travel shots, the results are perfectly satisfying.

Low-light performance remains decent, although it doesn’t quite compete with dedicated camera-centric flagships. If photography is your highest priority, the Motorola Signature is the better choice thanks to its more premium camera hardware. However, if your focus is performance and occasional photography, the Edge 70 Max strikes a sensible balance.

A huge battery that easily lasts more than a day

The 7,100mAh silicon-carbon battery proved to be another highlight during my time with the phone. With my typical usage involving messaging, web browsing, social media, photography, and video streaming, I consistently ended the day with around 40 to 50 percent battery remaining. That gives plenty of confidence for a full day of usage without constantly reaching for the charger.

well under control. I never noticed the phone becoming uncomfortably warm during wired charging.

The Edge 70 Max is also among the few phones in this segment to offer Qi2 magnetic wireless charging. Wireless charging itself isn’t particularly fast, but the magnetic attachment is genuinely useful. Unlike conventional wireless charging, where even slight misalignment can interrupt charging, the magnetic system securely snaps compatible chargers into place, reducing the chances of accidental disconnection.

Haptics are another pleasant surprise. The vibration motor delivers crisp and satisfying feedback, making typing and navigating the interface feel more premium than many rivals.

Verdict – A performance-first flagship

The Motorola Edge 70 Max successfully establishes itself as Motorola’s most powerful Edge-series smartphone yet. Rather than competing directly with the company’s own Signature model, it focuses on delivering flagship-grade performance, a gorgeous Quad HD+ display, dependable battery life, premium build quality, and a clean software experience.

That said, there are compromises. The lack of a protective case in the box feels disappointing at this price, the software support could be more competitive, the 8GB variant currently misses out on Motorola Qira AI features, and users seeking the best cameras should look at the Motorola Signature instead.

If your priorities revolve around performance, multimedia consumption, battery life, and a clean Android experience, the Edge 70 Max is an excellent choice. However, if cameras and long-term software support matter more, spending the extra money on the Motorola Signature or considering alternatives such as the OnePlus 15R may prove worthwhile.

For buyers who want a flagship that prioritizes speed over everything else, the Motorola Edge 70 Max delivers a well-rounded experience that is easy to recommend.

Even though it’s a long list of eligible devices, there are still a couple of Motorola phones that are missing from the list shared by Lenovo. For instance, the Edge 50 Neo and Edge 60 Neo should have been on the list. Both phones have been promised 5 years of major OS updates. The other Edge 50 series models should also be eligible for the Android 17 upgrade.

Many Motorola fans on online forums like Reddit have expressed concerns regarding the incomplete Android 17 eligible devices list shared by the brand. We hope the company will publish an updated list soon. We’ll let you know when that happens.

Recent reports about Motorola’s next Moto G-series phone have now gained more weight, with the Moto G Max appearing on Flipkart ahead of its India debut. The listing has confirmed the launch date while also giving us a detailed look at the phone’s design and key specifications.

Moto G Max specifications revealed ahead of India launch

The Moto G Max will launch in India on August 14 at 12pm, according to its Flipkart landing page. The phone features a 6.72-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1,050 nits HBM brightness, and Water Touch 2.0 for improved usability when the screen is wet.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 3.1 storage. Motorola is also advertising up to 18GB of RAM with its RAM Boost feature, combining physical memory with virtual RAM to handle more apps and tasks.

For photography, the Moto G Max has a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 600 main camera alongside an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. A 32-megapixel selfie camera sits on the front and comes with AI-based photo enhancement features.

The phone packs a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 1,000 recharge cycles. Motorola claims up to three days of battery life. The device also features stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Android 16 out of the box. Motorola promises two OS upgrades and three years of security updates.

The Moto G Max has a satin finish with Pantone-curated colors and a design that includes a flat frame and a prominent camera module. It carries IP64 protection, Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic, and MIL-STD 810H certification for added durability.

A few days ago, Motorola‘s own beta forum let it slip that an Edge 70 Neo was coming. Now that leak has some visual backup. Mac Observer has published a set of renders showing what the phone looks like.

You get four color options: pink, dark green, light green, and light blue. Each one has a matte finish on the frame. The pink model has a different pattern on the back compared to the other three. Across all four colors, the display curves at the edges, something Motorola has used across the rest of the Edge 70 lineup.

On the back, there’s a triple-camera system, with one sensor marked at 200 megapixels. How it performs is still unknown until Motorola shares more details.

This follows an earlier leak we covered, when a Lenovo forum user identified as a Senior Moto Agent named Kevin posted a call for testers to join the Android 17 beta program for the device. That post confirmed a phone Motorola hadn’t announced yet, since Motorola had not listed the Edge 70 Neo publicly before then.

The Edge 70 Neo would join a lineup that already includes the Edge 70, Edge 70 Fusion, Edge 70 Pro, Edge 70 Pro+, and Edge 70 Max. Neo models in this series have usually been the smaller option. The Edge 60 Neo has a 6.36-inch display, and the Edge 50 Neo before it came with a 6.4-inch screen. If Motorola follows the same pattern, the Edge 70 Neo could land in a similar size range.

Motorola hasn’t given a launch date. Since the beta program is already open and specifically tied to this device, a release could come within the next few weeks. The beta sign-up page pointed to India, so that market may see the phone first, though Motorola hasn’t confirmed a release region.

Motorola has released a new mid-range Android tablet in India, the Moto Pad 70. The device is positioned as an option for everyday productivity and media consumption, and it includes a stylus in the box.

Moto Pad 70 Specifications

The tablet is built around a 12.1-inch LCD screen with a 2.5K resolution (2560 x 1600). Motorola went with a 90Hz refresh rate here. While that is a step down from the 120Hz panels often found on competing tablets, it is still adequate for standard scrolling and video playback. The display reaches a peak brightness of 800 nits and covers the DCI-P3 color gamut. For audio, the device has a four-speaker setup that supports Dolby Atmos.

Physically, the Moto Pad 70 measures 6.29mm thick and weighs 530 grams. It has an IP52 rating, which means it can handle light splashes but shouldn’t be submerged in water. It is available in a single color option called Pantone Sea Angel.

Inside, the tablet is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor and 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. You can choose between 128GB and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, and there is a microSD card slot that supports up to 2TB of additional space.

On the software side, the Moto Pad 70 ships with Android 16. Motorola is promising two major operating system updates, which will take it to Android 18, along with security patches through 2030.

The software includes Motorola’s Smart Connect feature, which allows you to share files and mirror your screens across Windows PCs and Motorola phones.

The tablet runs on a 10,200mAh battery, and Motorola includes a 68W charger in the packaging. As for connectivity, it supports 5G networks, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.4.

For input, the included Moto Pen supports 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, tilt detection, and palm rejection. Motorola is also selling an optional magnetic keyboard cover that connects via pogo pins for users who want a physical typing setup.

The Moto Pad 70 will be available starting August 15th through Flipkart, Motorola’s website, and retail stores. The 128GB model is priced at Rs. 33,999, and the 256GB version costs Rs. 36,999.

Motorola is exploring a pretty radical new form factor that could blur the line between smartphones and wearables. A recently uncovered patent describes a flexible device designed to switch smoothly between everyday wrist use and a more conventional handheld experience, aiming to fix some of the limitations of both current foldables and traditional smartwatches.

Discovered by Burnplate and leaker @xleaks7, the patent outlines a device with a foldable display that can work as both a smartphone and a smartwatch. In smartwatch mode, it curves around the wrist with the display facing outward.

Magnets hold the two ends together and may also let the “wristband” size be adjusted for different users. Take it off your wrist and straighten it out, and it becomes a phone. For a more traditional smartphone aspect ratio, the two halves can be separated and put back together side by side.

The concept is trying to solve a real-world problem. Foldable phones like Motorola’s latest Razr 70 series get smaller when closed, but you still need a pocket. Smartwatches give you constant access, yet their screens are tiny, and the app experience is limited. Motorola’s hybrid idea aims to get the best of both by letting the same hardware do double duty without needing two separate devices.

That said, the practical challenges are still big. With today’s technology, a device like this would probably feel thick and heavy when worn as a watch. The multi-panel smartphone display could also end up less comfortable or durable than a regular single-screen foldable. Patents mainly show what companies are researching internally rather than confirmed product plans, so it’s unclear whether Motorola actually plans to turn this into a real product or when that might happen.

This filing continues Motorola’s interest in reconfigurable displays, following earlier concepts that looked at bending and wrapping form factors. Motorola has started sending Android 17 beta updates to users who previously signed up for beta testing. The high-end Motorola Signature was among the first recipients, but the brand didn’t waste any time expanding availability to mid-range phones, including the Edge 70 Pro, Edge 70 Fusion, and Edge 60 Pro.

The Android 17 beta update for Motorola devices comes with a massive download size of around 5GB. But the changelog is unfortunately thin on details, as you can see in the screenshot below.

Luckily, some Motorola enthusiasts have shared on their social accounts about the new features and changes they’ve spotted after upgrading to Android 17 beta.

Here’s a quick list of changes shared by a Moto Edge 60 Pro user on Reddit:

While this list is a good starting point, it doesn’t go very much into detail. Fortunately, a Motorola user on X (Fanboy_Moto) has shared better details along with screenshots and screen recordings, offering us a closer look at the new software.

Fanboy_Moto says the Android 17 beta update brings major improvements to the phone’s haptics, and the haptics feel very different when you swipe a notification. The status bar gets new icons, and home screen icons are tinted now. There’s also a new Classic Control Center, likely referring to the combined Notification panel with Quick Settings shortcuts.

Motorola has also brought visual and functional upgrades to Live Updates. Previously, Live Updates would appear on the left side of the status bar. Now, it has been integrated into the camera cutout in the middle, similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island. Plus, it now supports most of your day-to-day apps. See the upgraded Live Updates in action here.

Changes have also been made to the Motorola HelloUI App Drawer, as shared by Fanboy_Moto:

• Better background blur

The lock screen receives new clock faces with expanded typography and style options. Unfortunately, there’s no depth effect feature. Fanboy_Moto has posted a video on X detailing all the lock screen changes. You can watch it here.

There are quite a few smaller but meaningful changes that are worth paying attention to. It includes a faster, easier way to take screenshots and split-screen. Previously, you had to hold down three fingers on the screen to take a screenshot, which was pretty annoying. Now, it’s a three-finger swipe down gesture. You can watch the new gesture in action here.

Split screen is now a three-finger swipe-up gesture. Previously, it required swiping back and forth, which users weren’t happy about. Motorola has also fixed the issue (to some extent) where network icons would overlap. But it still needs work.

Motorola has also updated the Settings page UI, which now looks more like Pixel UI.

Fanboy_Moto has also spotted a few more features in Motorola’s Android 17 beta, including Landscape Stereo, Qira AI assistant, Enhanced HDR Brightness, and Battery health.

The Android 17 beta update is currently rolling out on a few Motorola devices, and we expect more devices to join the party as testing expands. Hopefully, the stable release won’t take much longer, as beta users are reporting that the new build is working fine without any critical issues.

The above screengrab from the Lenovo forum site reveals that Motorola has opened registrations for the Android 17 beta program in India, and the listing specifically mentions the unannounced Motorola Edge 70 Neo, confirming the device’s existence for the first time. While Motorola has not officially announced the smartphone yet, its appearance on the company’s official beta testing forum suggests that its launch could be close.

Given that the device is already associated with Android 17 beta testing, there’s a good chance the Edge 70 Neo could debut with Android 17 out of the box, although Motorola has not confirmed this yet. It remains to be seen whether the device goes official later this month or in September.

After years of sitting on the sidelines of the high-end wearable market, the company that once helped shape the category looks like it’s gearing up for a comeback. Fresh renders shared by The Mac Observer on July 31 show a device internally called the Moto Watch Ultra, and it’s clearly being positioned as a potential rival to Samsung’s Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.

Motorola’s smartwatch story started more than a decade ago. In September 2014 the original Moto 360 showed up as one of the first widely available Android Wear watches. Its clean circular design got a lot of love and helped make the round smartwatch form factor popular at a time when most rivals were still stuck with square or rectangular faces. More models followed, but as Apple, Samsung, and Google doubled down on premium wearables, Motorola slowly drifted away from the flagship end of the market.

These new leaked images suggest that quieter period might be coming to an end. The Moto Watch Ultra is shown with a solid 46 mm stainless steel case, a circular display framed by a bezel with digital indices, a big rotating crown, and an extra physical side button.

Markings on the back hint at some serious flagship features. It appears to have built-in GPS and LTE, plus IP68 dust and water resistance and a 5 ATM rating (good for up to 50 metres). A large optical sensor array takes up a good chunk of the rear cover, pointing to solid health and fitness tracking. There’s also a four-pin magnetic charging port, which suggests Motorola will go with its own proprietary dock instead of regular wireless charging.

No official specs, software details, battery life numbers, pricing, or launch date have been confirmed yet. Still, the hardware cues make it pretty clear the company wants this one to play at the top of the market rather than just fill a mid-range slot.

If the finished product lives up to the ambition in these early images, Motorola could once again become a real contender in the flagship smartwatch space it helped kick off more than ten years ago.

Motorola has quietly begun rolling out the Android 17 beta update to the Moto Edge 60 Pro users. It’s one of the very first Motorola phones to receive this major beta update, which has recently been released for Motorola Signature, Moto Edge 70, and Moto G57 Power.

The Android 17 beta update for the Edge 60 Pro is reportedly rolling out in India with the firmware version A171VVH.16. It should soon begin to expand to other regions. This major upgrade has a download size of 5GB, which is larger than any major OS upgrade released in the past for the Edge 60 Pro. However, the changelog doesn’t reveal anything except for the July 2026 security patch and stability improvements.

If you have a Motorola Edge 60 Pro and you’ve already participated in the Android 17 beta program, the update may arrive anytime soon. To manually check for available updates, go to Settings > System updates, then tap Check for updates.

Please note that Motorola usually rolls out updates in batches, and so it can take a couple of days for them to reach all the users. The availability depends on your region.

Once you’ve upgraded to Android 17 beta, you’ll start to notice changes immediately. There’s an updated notification panel and control center, new clock faces for the lock screen, and an updated Settings page. The update also introduces a new volume mixer and upgraded Live Activities that now also work with calls, music, and torch.

Motorola rushed to announce its Android 17 beta program in February. It happened just days after Google released the first beta, and later, the beta applications were also opened for over a dozen phones. However, the company struggled to release the beta update for any of those devices until recently.

Motorola Signature was the first phone to receive the Android 17 beta update last week, which was later expanded to the affordable Moto G57 Power and Edge 70, as reported by Ytechb. The update package has a download size of around 4GB, and is currently rolling out in limited regions, including India, Brazil, and EMEA, with expansion to other regions likely to follow soon.

As seen in the video, the Motorola Edge 70 Max is shown in a pale green color option. It features a flat display with slim bezels all around and a raised square camera module on the back. A closer look at the camera island confirms that it houses a Sony Lytia 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS support.

The Edge 70 Max has flat aluminum edges and a glass back panel. It also features a dedicated AI button on the left side, while the power and volume buttons are positioned on the right.

At the same time, tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore has shared leaked renders of the device. The images show the phone in Pantone color options, including Onyx Black, Sage Green, and Glacier Blue.

He also revealed that the device features a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED display with a Quad HD+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and up to 7,000 nits of peak brightness. It is already known that the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 7,100mAh battery.
