Recently, Gionee released an upgraded version of the Gionee V188 called the Gionee V188S. Unexpectedly, this phone is being sold at the same price as the original, 1499 RMB (244.76 USD).

So, what is the difference between the two? The original version has support for a single SIM card while this version has support for dual-SIM and dual-standby. This phone has support for TD-LTE (China Mobile 4G), TD-SCDMA, and GSM.

Another interesting feature about the Gionee V188S is its battery. It uses a 5200mAh Samsung battery and can be charged via OTG. Although the rear cover can be taken off, the battery cannot be changed.

As for its other specs, the Gionee V188S has the MT6582 and MT6290 chips, 1G RAM, 8G ROM (can be expanded to 128G), a 5-inch 720p OGS screen, and a 2mp/8mp dual-camera. Its OS is the Android 4.4-based Amigo, and it has support for an e-compass and Hotknot.

Other than its specs, information has been revealed about the material used to make this phone’s mid-frame. It was revealed that the X55 will sport a mid-frame made of an aluminum-titanium alloy.

According to the Baidu Encyclopedia entry on this metal, an aluminum-titanium alloy is a very strong metal with high quality. It is also easy to color on and even lighter than stainless steel. However, this metal is not very popular and is very expensive. By using this metal, Shenzhou intends to defeat the Mi 4 and MX4 in terms of material.

Many snapshots have already been posted online as well as information on its specs. The front is black while the back is white. It might be available in many colors. It might sport a 5.5-inch display screen and a 14mp HD camera, use the MT6592/MT6290 dual-LTE chipset, and have 2G RAM and 16G ROM.

This will probably be launched in October.

Some of the H3’s specifications were also revealed as well. It sports a 10.1-inch screen with 1920 x 1200 resolution. Its main camera is also pretty powerful as PIPO plans to put a 13mp camera on the back.

This rendering of the H3 shows that it has a similar design to the T9. The back still follows a three-level design, but the H3 does not have round ends. There is also a detachable panel on the left side of the main camera. From the tabs on the pan, it looks like the H3 may support dual-SIM cards and memory cards.

The iSuper S3’s design is completely different from the S2. Its edges are more curved and it has a more flat surface. Photos show that it has a narrow screen frame and that its SIM card slot is located on the side.

Its camera specs are the S3’s main selling point. It sports an 8mp front camera with a sensor from Sony and dual-flashlights. Its main camera also has 8mp. It also uses Doov’s Cam 2.0 software which lets the user take photos and do beauty enhancement by voice command.

Of course, the iSUper S3 is also a 4G phone that supports LTE internet. It uses the MT6582 and MT6290 and supports TD-LTE China Mobile 4G, TD-SCDMA, and GSM. It also sports a 5.3-inch 720p Sony screen and has 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM. It is also powered by a 2460mAh battery and uses the Android 4.42.

Its model number is the Lenovo A808t-i.

Information about the A808t-i in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s website shows that its basic specs are the same as the A808T. They both use a 1.7GHz octa-core chipset that supports TD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, and GSM internet. It should be a combination of the MT6592 and MT6290. Other similarities include its use of a 5-inch 720p screen, 2G RAM, 16GB ROM, and 5mp/13mp camera. Its OS is still the Android 4.42.

So, what is the difference between the A808t-i and the A8080T? Perhaps there are some new upgrades in the A808t-i that they have not yet announced like its use of a dual-SIM card. Let’s wait and see.

The Bird L108’s design is not that different from many devices with round, curvy shapes. This phone stands out more for its colors and adornments. For example, there is a gold plate in the right side.

Like most of Bird’s L phones, the L108 is China Mobile-customized. It supports China Mobile TD-LTE 4G internet (single SIM card). It uses a MT6582+MT6290 dual chipset. Other than that, its specs are just so-so. It sports a 4.5-inch display screen with FWVGA resolution and a 2mp/5mp dual-camera, and has 512Mb RAM and 4Gb ROM. It is powered by a 1750mAh battery and its OS is the Android 4.42. Many will be surprised that a cellphone that costs less than 1000 RMB has a noice-cancelling microphone.

As an entry-level 4G phone, it costs at least 688 RMB.

The best thing about the A606 is its internet settings. It uses the MTK6582 (1.3GHz) and MT6290 processors and supports TD-LTE and FDD-LTE 4G internet. It is also compatible with WCDMA and GSM networks. It only has one SIM card slot.

The Lenovo A606 (contract edition) costs about 799 RMB.

Recently, they revealed the Vimoo Z5 which looks better than the V6.

The Vimoo Z5 certainly has a better-looking design than the V6. As the photos below show, the front side looks the same as any other cellphone’s but its round “Home” button is definitely more eye-catching. The rear case is covered by hard glass, basically following a double-glass design. Readers can also see that there is a SIM card slot in the middle frame. The rear case is not detachable. It is a pretty slim phone, measuring only 7.5mm.

Like V6, the Vimoo Z5 is also a 4G phone. Its processor is the MTK MT6582 quad-core chipset while its baseband chip is the MT6290. It might use China Mobile (TD-LTE/TD-SCDMA-supported). It sports a 5.5-inch IPS screen with HD resolution and has a 5mp/8mp Sony dual-camera. Its operating system is the Android 4.4.

The Vimoo Z5 is slated to come out in September and will probably be more expensive than the V6 which is 1299 RMB (210.95 USD).

Recently, they revealed their newest 4G phone, the BIRD L600.

The BIRD L600 does not have specs that are as good as the L7 4G phone which, like the L600, also uses China Mobile. The L600 can support TD-LTE/TD-SCDMA and GSM internet, and its processors are the MT6582 (1.3GHz) quad-core processor and the MT6290.

The BIRD L600 sports a 5-inch display screen with qHD resolution (960 x 540) and also has 1GB RAM and 4GB internal memory space. Its cameras are also weaker than the L7’s. Its front-facing camera only has .3mp while the rear-facing camera has 5mp.

As of now, all devices that use 4G chips from MTK use the Android 4.42 OS. The BIRD L600 is no exception and uses the KitKat system. As the photo shows, there is a small hole above the main camera which means that this phone may support dual-microphone noise-cancellation.

As the snapshot shows, the design of the Sugar Macaron Mini is still the same. It is available in pink, yellow, green, and many other colors. The metal mid-frame is made of many gemstones.

Obviously, the Sugar Macaron Mini would have weaker specs than the original. It sports a 4.7-inch display screen with a 720p resolution. It only has 1GB RAM and 16GB internal memory space. It still supports LTE internet but also supports TD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, and GSM. Its processor is still the MTK6582 which is used with the MT6290. It sports a 8mp front-facing Sony camera and its OS is customized from the Android 4.4.

As of now, no price has been revealed although it is unlikely to be cheap.

The ZP520 has a 5.5-inch display screen with a qHD resolution which is not that high, which probably shows that this could be an entry-level phone. Like the ZP320, the ZP520 uses the MT6582 and MT6290. It also has 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM, and a 2mp/8mp dual-camera. It is powered by a 2400 mha battery and its OS is the Android 4.42.

The ZOPO ZP520 has already been officially released in Shanghai where it costs 199 USD.

The X55 uses an octa-core LTE processor, the MT6592, and the MT6290. It supports WCDMA, FDD-LTE, and GSM. It sports a 5.5-inch display screen with HD resolution and uses OGS technology. It also has a 5mp/13mp dual HD camera. Its memory is not that great however, having only 1GB RAM and 4GB internal memory space. It runs on a 2500ma battery and its operating system is the Android 4.42.

Like the X7, the Unistar X55 will probably be released overseas first before it gets released in China.

There have been more LTE-supported phones coming out and killing their 3G counterparts in sales, ushering the 4G era.

ZOPO joins the 4G invasion with their new phone, the ZP320. ZOPO has already lowered its price for the foreign market. The ZP320, right now, cost 199.99 USD.

The ZOPO ZP320’s specs are pretty much what you would find in most phones right now. It uses a combination of the MT6582 quad-core processor and the MT6290. It supports FDD-LTE/WCDMA/GSM and only has one Micro SIM slot. It sports a 5-inch IPS display screen with qHD resolution (960 x 540), and has 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM which can be expanded. It also has a 2mp/8mp dual-camera and is powered by a 2300 ma battery. Like other MTK 4G phones, the ZP320 uses the Android 4.4.2 kitkat OS.

The ZOPO ZP320 is obviously a 4G elementary-level product that’s aimed at the mid and low-end market considering its average specs.

Despite supporting many kinds of internet networks, the X4 is not a high-end phone. It has an IPS display screen that is only 4.5 inches and only has FVGA resolution (854 x 480). Its memory is not that special either. It has 512M RAM and 4GB ROM. It sport a 2mp/5mp dual-camera and its operating system is the new Android 4.42 kitkat.

It’s worth mentioning the Bluboo X4’s design. The frames are split in the middle by a black line. Its measurements are 134.3×65.5×9.6mm.

Like the X2, the X4 should be released overseas first. Whether or not it will be released in China remains to be seen.

According to earlier reports, the Qingyang 2 4G edition will be available in black and white and sports a 5-inch 720p display screen and 2GB RAM. One of those was Mediatek’s new chipsets, the MT6920 and MT6595.

The MT6920 is Mediatek’s newest LTE Modem chip. Several of them already went through storage tests conducted by China Mobile. It supports TD-LTE/FDD-LTE/TD-SCDMA/WCDMA/GSM and current LTE Cat 4 standards. It can provide, at most, 50Mbps/150Mbps of internet speed, and supports CSFB and SG-LTE voice solutions. The chip was designed using 28nm craftsmanship and its size is about 9.4 x 9.4mm.

The MT6595 also supports five-mode multifrequency like the MT6920. It has also integrated the LTE modem. It’s about 14 x 14 mm.

The MT6595 chipset consists of four A17 cores and 4A7 cores. It’s the first octa-core LTE chip in the world and also supports the 4k2k media player, recorder, and H.265 coding. It also supports 2K display screens and cameras with up to 20mP resolution as well as DDR3 memory, eMMC 5.0 and USB3.0 standards.

As warehouse tests finish, high-end products using MTK’s 4G solutions will surely make their debut.

So who will be the first one built in MTK 4G chips? According to rumors, Zhongxing may be listed as one, insider from ZTE told that a phone built in MTK octa core LTE platform is coming out!

According to informed @Naning10028 public, we have a general profile to the MTK LTE product. Firstly, the design, it will use same out look design as Zhongxing memo 2, which is laconically designed, no camera ledge in 7.8 mm body, however, for the new product is adjusted its inner structure, the phone will not support double card double standby anymore, only a SIM card slot left, and it support tf extension.

And to the specs. Details is most known to us, the processor ‘s type is still unknown, predicted the MT6592 octa core solution, adding LTE Modem based on MT6592, support China Mobile 4G. Screen is 5 inch 720P resolution LTPS screen, 5MP and back 8MP double camera, 2300 mAH battery, these are the same as memo 2, different is the memory, the LTE new phone has 2GB running memory, with 16GB storage built in.

Regrettably, the phone may be firstly available only for China Mobile customers who use U880, later may be open to all.
