The realme X2 Pro was the brand’s first-ever flagship smartphone. It was released in the last quarter of 2019 with ColorOS 6.x based on Android Pie. The device was later updated to realme UI based on Android 10. Now, it has finally started receiving the much-awaited Android 11 (realme UI 2.0) update.

The realme UI 2.0 is based on ColorOS 11. It was unveiled a few days after the announcement of OPPO’s Android 11-based mobile operating system in September. However, realme X2 Pro is receiving the stable update of this software over nine months later.

Handset maker realme opened realme UI 2.0 Early Acess registrations for the realme X2 Pro at the end of December. Therefore, it took the brand six months to deliver the Android 11 stable update. The duration between the initial beta release and the final stable release is way too long for any brand.

Anyway, the latest system update for the realme X2 Pro arrives with firmware version RMX1931_11_F.11. Users need to be on firmware version RMX1931EX_11.C.37 or RMX1931EX_11.C.38 to receive this update.

The software build is being rolled out in batches. Hence, it may take some time to reach every unit. Lastly, unsatisfied users can roll back to Android 10 (realme UI). But this process will wipe their phone’s internal storage.

Chinese smartphone maker realme unveiled realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 in September. The announcement for the same came soon after the ColorOS 11 launch event. Because despite separating from OPPO, realme’s software is still based on ColorOS. So far, the brand has delivered the stable update to a single handset – realme X50 Pro, whereas builds for two devices are in the beta testing phase. Now, the company has started recruiting testers for four new phones.

A few days after announcing realme UI 2.0, the brand also revealed the ‘Early Access’ roadmap for all the eligible devices. Following the same, the company has been releasing builds.

Hence, as December 2020 is about to end, the firm has started recruiting realme UI 2.0 Early Acess testers for the following smartphones.

• realme 6 Pro
• realme narzo 20 Pro
• realme X2 Pro

Just like with the previous three handsets, the seats for the next four devices are also limited. Therefore, if you are interested in trying out the latest software, then head over to Settings > Software Update > Gear Icon > Trial Version > Submit Details > Apply Now. 

If you get selected, you will be receiving the realme UI 2.0 (Android 11) beta build via OTA. That said, for some reason, you want to rollback to realme UI (Android 10), make sure to backup your data first as this process will wipe your internal storage.

Anyway, even if you don’t join this program now, you will be receiving the stable update in the coming weeks when it is ready.

It has a lower refresh rate (90 Hz vs 120 Hz), but it is the only one with an AMOLED panel and it has the HDR10+ certification and full DCI P3 coverage. Realme X3 and X3 SuperZoom come with exactly the same IPS display offering a 120 Hz refresh rate.

With Realme X2 Pro, X3, and X3 SuperZoom you get the same chipset: the amazing Snapdragon 855+ which was Qualcomm’s best mobile platform of 2019. Unfortunately, there is no 5G support, but these handsets feature an incredibly high level of performance. Realme X3 SuperZoom and X2 Pro are actually superior in terms of hardware because they offer up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage, while the vanilla X3 stops at 8/128 GB. The most advanced camera belongs to the Realme X3 SuperZoom. All of these devices feature the same midrange 64 MP sensor as the main sensor of the rear camera department, but the X3 SuperZoom also comes with a periscopic sensor boasting OIS and 5x optical zoom. Instead, Realme X3 and X2 Pro have a telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. Realme X3 SuperZoom also wins the front camera comparison as it sports an ultrawide dual front camera with 32 + 8 MP sensors.

Battery

Since they have a bigger battery, Realme X3 and X3 SuperZoom are able to last more than X2 Pro on a single charge in a lot of scenarios. But given that their displays are more energy-demanding, it is just a minimum margin. On the other hand, Realme X2 Pro offers a way faster charging technology (50W vs 30W) and it needs just 35 minutes to fully charge.

Realme X3 and X3 SuperZoom are priced $330/€294 and $370/€330 in India, respectively. Realme X2 Pro starts from almost $400/€356. Design

Despite it comes with premium materials (including an aluminum frame and a glass back), Realme X2 Pro is not the device we would recommend if you are seeking the most elegant design. That position of the logo on the rear side is all but amazing and its waterdrop notch makes it look like a more outdated device. Instead, you should go for the Realme X50 Pro Player which sports a minimalistic look, a dual punch-hole display while still guaranteeing premium materials like the Realme X2 Pro. The Realme X3 SuperZoom has a similar design to the Realme X50 Pro Player, but it replaces the aluminum frame with a plastic profile. That is why we recommend the Realme X50 Pro Player, which is also more compact.

Display

Realme X3 SuperZoom provides the highest refresh rate with 120 Hz, but despite that, it has a lower-end display panel compared to Realme X2 Pro and Realme X50 Pro Player. Its two rivals come with the same display specifications, including a Full HD+ resolution, the Super AMOLED technology, the HDR10+ standard and a 90 Hz refresh rate. They differ for the size: Realme X2 Pro has a slightly wider 6.5-inch panel, while Realme X50 Pro Player stops at 6.44 inches.

Hardware/Software

The best hardware department belongs to the Realme X50 Pro Player since it comes with a better processor: the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform, while Realme X3 SuperZoom and Realme X2 Pro are both powered by the Snapdragon 855+. In each case you get up to 12 GB of RAM, but the Realme X50 Pro Player is the only with a UFS 3.1 internal storage (even though it offers max 128 GB instead of 256 GB). An important detail: Realme X50 Pro Player supports 5G connectivity, while Realme X2 Pro and Realme X3 SuperZoom do not. Realme X2 Pro is the only which does not come with Android 10 out of the box, but it already rolled out and can be installed through a software update.

Camera

The weak point of the Realme X50 Pro Player is the camera department: it is way inferior to both Realme X2 Pro and Realme X3 SuperZoom. The Realme X3 SuperZoom is the best camera phone as it comes with better zoom capabilities (up to 5x optical zoom and 60x digital zoom) and a better (and ultrawide) front camera including a 32 MP main sensor and an 8 MP ultrawide lens. Note that in each case we are not talking about top-end camera phones.

Battery

Their specifications are different, but Realme X3 SuperZoom, X50 Pro Player and X2 Pro offer more or less the same battery life. Naturally it depends on the usage scenarios, but there is not a big difference between these devices. Realme X2 Pro has a smaller battery, but unlike the Realme X50 Pro Player it does not support 5G and unlike the Realme X3 SuperZoom it has an AMOLED display, so it is less energy-demanding. Realme X50 Pro Player has the fastest charging speeds with its 65W fast-charging tech, but it takes more or less the same time as the X2 Pro to fully-charge since it has a bigger battery.

Price

You can find both Realme X3 SuperZoom (12/256 GB) and Realme X2 Pro (12/256 GB) for €500/$565 globally, but there are lower-end configurations for the Realme X2 Pro with more affordable prices (up to 6/64 GB sold for €399). Realme X50 Pro Player is priced €442/$499 in China and it did not go global, at least for now. We believe that, unless you need a great camera department, Realme X50 Pro Player is the best choice. Between Realme X3 SuperZoom and X2 Pro, the former wins (unless you need the best display), but you can find the latter at more affordable prices.

Display

We exclude the Redmi K30 Pro from the display comparison, especially when it comes to gaming. It lacks the trendy feature of the moment: a high 90 Hz refresh rate. Realme X2 Pro and X50 Pro Player come with similar display specifications, including a 90 Hz refresh rate and the HDR10+ standard, as well as the Super AMOLED technology and a Full HD+ resolution. Unfortunately, we still do not have complete details about the display of the Realme X50 Pro Player Edition, so it is a draw with the X2 Pro.

Hardware/Software

Realme X2 Pro loses this comparison because it offers an older and less powerful chipset, as well as no 5G support. With its bigger 4700 mAh battery and a standard refresh rate for the display, Redmi K30 Pro provides a longer battery life. Realme X50 Pro Player has the fastest charging technology: it goes from 0 to 100 percent in just 35 minutes with its 65W fast charging technology, and it can provide 1 hour of calls with just 3 minutes of charge. Realme X2 Pro is very close with its 50W fast charging and smaller battery, while Redmi K30 Pro is inferior with a slower charging (30W) and a bigger battery.

Price

Redmi K30 Pro’s base variant is priced 2,999 Yuan in China (roughly $420), just like the Realme X50 Pro Player. Realme X2 Pro begins at 2,699 Yuan ($378) but it is actually way cheaper thanks to street prices. Realme X2 Pro is more affordable, but it is not the winner of this comparison: it has inferior hardware, a smaller battery, and it lacks 5G. Realme X50 Pro Player has a faster charging tech, better display, and performances (at least in its most expensive variant), while Redmi K30 Pro offers a bigger battery and great cameras, but it lacks a high refresh rate. Realme X2 Pro is the brand’s first flagship smartphone launched back in September 2019. However, the phone underwent the DxOMark Audio test only now and bags a respectable score of 58 points for its asking price.

As per DxOMark, the Realme X2 Pro performed ‘reasonably well’ in their audio test for a smartphone at its price. The DxOMark Audio test involves both playback and recording capabilities of a smartphone. The final score of the test is an average of these two performances of the phone.

In the playback test, the Realme X2 Pro scores a respectable 59 points. According to DxOMark, the X2 Pro’s playback Volume sub-score of 79 is the highest of any device they have tested so far, and it is the first Android phone to top the 77 earned by Apple’s iPhone 11 Pro Max. The phone’s Dolby-certified stereo speakers can clearly reproduce mid-range tones, along with precise treble and bass. But unfortunately, the bass tones lack in volume even though they are precise. Further, the sound stage seems to be not as wide as those found on other multi-speaker speakers. That means the dual stereo speakers on this phone are well-suited for games than for listening to music.

As far as the recording test is concerned, the Realme X2 Pro does not perform well when compared to similar phones in the segment like Honor 20 Pro. The X2 Pro scores only 55 points in the recording test, which is four points lesser than its competitor’s 59 points. Xu Qi, the Vice President of Realme, has just announced that the Realme X2 series and the Realme Q will soon receive an update for the RealmeUI. The company has opened the open beta for the latest custom skin, which is based on Android 10, and the stable build should follow in the arriving weeks.

According to the senior executive, Realme plans on updating every smartphone model from the brand to the latest Android 10 OS based RealmeUI. In other words, your Realme smartphone is eligible for a notable major upgrade. The open beta for the Realme X2 started on the 9th of March, while the X2 Pro open beta starts on 11th March 2020.

The Realme Q, on the other hand, will receive the official update on 15th March. Notably, the Realme X series, including the Realme X Youth Edition, has already received the new system update back on 25th February 2020. It is a proprietary UI from Oppo, which Realme was a subsidiary of before becoming independent.

It was a heavily modified version of Android. But, the RealmeUI, on the other hand, follows a simpler and cleaner aesthetic. The new UI from the Chinese brand is more in line with stock Android, similar to OxygenOS from OnePlus. The new software houses various new features and functions and is based on the latest Android 10.

AnTuTu has a long tradition of sieving the thousands of models that run through the app monthly to pick out the best-performing Android phones each month. Recall that in January 2020, the iQOO Neo was the best-performing phone. The benchmark outfit has released its ranking for February and this time around, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro held sway.

The ranking is based on data collated between the period of February 1 and February 29, 2020. It also takes into account the fact that the models must have appeared on the app more than 1000 times. So, the ranking is based on the average AnTuTu score of each model and not just the single highest score. In addition, this month’s list is based on models that ran on AnTuTu V8 public beta version released on August 1, 2019.

With an average score of 594069 points and 564327 points respectively, the Mi 10 Pro and Mi 10 emerge as the first and second best-performing models in February. Both models pack a Snapdragon 865 chipset. We must add that this ranking basically concerns models that went on sale in February. The iQOO 3 was announced in February and the peak score floors the Mi 10 Pro’s but it fails to meet the AnTuTu criteria for this ranking as stated above.

Another aspect worthy of note is the dominance of models running Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855+ chipset. A total of seven models powered by a Snapdragon 855+ chipset made it into the list. This includes the iQOO Neo, iQOO Pro, OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7T Pro and Vivo Nex 3 ranked as the third to seventh position. Huawei’s V30 Pro with a Kirin 990 chipset comes in at number 8. The Snapdragon 855+-powered ASUS ROG 2 and Realme X2 Pro complete the top 10.

On the whole, the February 2020 AnTuTu best-performing flagship phone ranking affords us yet another opportunity to see the massive performance increase brought about by the Snapdragon 865. The difference in the average score between the Mi 10 Pro and the iQOO Neo in third place is more than 90,000 points. We expect the list to experience a massive change in March as more and more Snapdragon 865 phones go on sale.

It even delivers a higher image quality thanks to HDR10+ and full DCI P3 coverage. It comes with a notch, but it is definitely a better panel. Right after, we got the Redmi K20 Pro with an HDR10-compliant display and a full DCI P3 coverage. But in each case, you get a pretty nice AMOLED panel with an in-display fingerprint reader.

Specs & Software

Both Redmi K20 Pro and Realme X2 Pro are flagship killers, so they are superior to Samsung Galaxy A71. Realme X2 Pro is the fastest and most powerful one since it is fueled by a better Snapdragon 855+ chipset paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.0 internal storage. Some may actually like the software of the Redmi K20 Pro more, but due to its lower-end Snapdragon 855 chipset, it is less performing (but still a flagship). Samsung Galaxy A71 is just a mid-ranger, so you should not go for it if you need the highest performance. But it is the only with Android 10 out of the box.

Camera

Unfortunately, we still had no chance to test it, but on the paper, Samsung Galaxy A71 seems to offer the most convincing camera department. We are talking about a quad camera with a 64 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultrawide lens, a 5 MP dedicated macro camera and a 5 MP depth sensor. Even the front camera is great with its 32 MP resolution.

Battery

Samsung Galaxy A71 wins the battery life comparison thanks to a bigger 4500 mAh unit, but Realme X2 Pro offers the fastest charging technology with a power of 50W.

Price

Samsung Galaxy A71 will hit the global market with aa €469/$516 price tag, Realme X2 Pro starts from €399/$440 and Redmi K20 Pro is available for about €350/$385 thanks to online street prices. In my opinion, Realme X2 Pro is the most awesome device of this trio since it has better hardware and display which you can not often find on a device sold for less than €400. But Samsung Galaxy A71 has a better camera and a longer lasting battery, while Redmi K20 Pro offers a slightly higher value for money due to its more affordable price.

Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme, revealed the roadmap for the highly anticipated new update which will bring the Wi-Fi calling feature for Realme smartphones starting with Realme X2 Pro. The information was revealed on YouTube under the AskMadhav’s latest episode on Realme India’s official channel.

According to the senior executive, Realme X2 Pro will be the first smartphone to receive the new VoWiFi feature and will receive it later this month. The video talks about the feature and also reveals about the roadmap for the inclusion of the feature in other smartphones as well. A few old phones like the Realme U1 and Realme 1 will also be receiving the new update before the end of the first quarter of 2020.

Furthermore, the rollout of the new update begins this month and in will first include the Realme X2 Pro. Following this, Reame X2, Realme XT, Realme X, Realme 5 Pro, Realme 3 Pro, Realme 5, Realme 5s, and Realme 5i will also receive the update with the new feature in February 2020. In March 2020, the rest of the company’s smartphone offerings will receive the same update, includes the Realme 3, Realme 3i, Realme 2 Pro, Realme U1, Realme 1, Realme C2, Realme 2, and Realme C1.

For those unaware, the VoWiFi feature lets users make calls over Wi-Fi, these are not internet data calls but regular ones. Notably, this feature does not require a separate app and can be used by any compatible smartphone; although it depends on whether the users’ telecom operator provides this service.

Airtel was the first to introduce this feature in December 2019 but was only available in the Delhi NCR region in India. However, the feature is now more widely available and includes numerous South Indian regions as well. Additionally, Jio is also launching the VoWiFi service nationwide and will support about 150 different smartphone models.

It is a 6.5-inch panel with very high color accuracy and image reproduction. It comes with high DCI P3 coverage, a high HDR10+ and a 90 Hz refresh rate, as well as a very high brightness. Realme X2 Pro is more or less at the same level. Honor V30 Pro has a disappointing display if we consider that it is a flagship: it comes with a classic IPS panel that you can find on a lot of mid-rangers.

Hardware/Software

With the amazing Snapdragon 855+ chipset, up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.0 internal storage, Realme X2 Pro wins the performance comparison. It is faster, better for gaming and every advanced task. But there are two cons if you choose this device. First, it does not have 5G, unlike both its rivals. Second, it is still based on Android 9 Pie, while Honor V30 Pro and Oppo Reno3 boast Android 10 out of the box.

Camera

When it comes to cameras, Oppo Reno3 Pro and Honor V30 Pro take the award with their better sensors and departments. We still did not test it thoroughly, but Oppo Reno3 Pro looks more promising on the paper when it comes to rear cameras, while Honor V30 Pro has a better front camera department. It is one of the few phones to include an ultrawide front camera with a dual configuration. Realme X2 Pro has just a midrange camera department with a Samsung GW1 sensor and no OIS. It is a good camera phone, but far from the top tier ones.

Battery

Due to similar battery capacities, there are no huge differences in the battery life of Honor V30 Pro, Oppo Reno3 Pro, and Realme X2 Pro. What matters more are charging technologies. Realme X2 Pro has the fastest charging technology, but you can only charge it via a cable. Honor V30 Pro offers both wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

Price

The price of Honor V30 Pro in China is around $550/€495, Oppo Reno3 Pro starts from $580/€520, and Realme X2 Pro starts from $380/€340. At the end of December, Realme India had confirmed the pricing of the new 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage variant for the Realme X2 Pro. However, the handset wasn’t made available for purchase readily. The new variant isn’t yet listed on the official website of Realme India. However, it is available for purchase through Flipkart with a price tag of Rs. 27,999 (~$392).

Flipkart is carrying out Realme 2020 Sale between Jan. 2 and Jan. 5. The landing page of the sale has revealed that the 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage edition of Realme X2 Pro is now available for purchase. The smartphone is listed in color option such as Neptune Blue and Lunar White.

The Realme X2 Pro is available in other variants such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. Both models are respectively priced at Rs. 29,999 (~$420) and Rs. 33,999 (~$477). Both models are available in aforementioned color options. We doubt you are a real design fanatic if you are checking this comparison, but if you are, then you may be interested in knowing that Oppo Reno3 has more attractive aesthetics. Despite having a bigger battery than OnePlus 7T, it has a slimmer body. Further, it is a more compact design and it has a cleaner rear side thanks to a smaller camera module. Hardware/Software

While Oppo Reno3 is the world’s first smartphone to be fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L chipset, Realme X2 Pro and OnePlus 7T are equipped with a Snapdragon 855+ SoC. MediaTek Dimensity 1000L is supposed to be a flagship processor, but there is no way it can compete with the amazing Snapdragon 855+ chipset found on the Realme X2 Pro and the OnePlus 7T. These two devices even offer a fast UFS 3.0 internal storage and up to 12 GB of RAM (the 6/64 GB variant of the Realme X2 Pro has UFS 2.1 storage). But Oppo Reno3 is still an amazing performance phone and, unlike its rivals, it supports 5G connectivity through an integrated 5G modem, while OnePlus 7T and Realme X2 Pro are 4G-only. OnePlus 7T and Oppo Reno3 run Android 10 out of the box, while Realme X2 Pro is still based on Android Pie.

Camera

We know that Oppo Reno3 and OnePlus 7T offer something more when it comes to camera quality. Unfortunately, we still had no chance to test the Oppo Reno3 thoroughly since it was announced just three days ago, but we know for sure it will be superior to the Realme X2 Pro, just like the OnePlus 7T.

Battery

With battery capacities of 4025 mAh and 4000 mAh respectively, Oppo Reno3 and Realme X2 Pro offer a longer battery life than OnePlus 7T. We did not test the battery life of the Oppo Reno3, so we still can not tell which will last more on a single charge. But we can tell you Realme X2 Pro charges a lot faster thanks to its 50W fast charging technology allowing the phone to reach 100 percent of battery life in just 35 minutes.

Price

Oppo Reno3 launched in the Chinese market with a €440/$492 starting price for the 8/128 GB configuration, Realme X2 Pro 6/64 GB costs €399/$445, and OnePlus 7T is currently available for about €450/$503 in its 8/128 GB version, thanks to online street prices. There is not a clear winner here. If you want 5G your only choice is Oppo Reno3, which also provides a slimmer and more compact design. OnePlus 7T and Realme X2 Pro have better performance and displays and the latter offers them at a more affordable price, while the former has more convincing cameras. Which one would you pick?

But when we saw the pricing for its 8GB + 128GB variant in India, we were shocked! It was clear at launch that this variant will take on the OnePlus 7T in India.

Because the rear camera is also the front camera, the Zenfone 6 is one of the best selfie shooters of 2019!

In November, Realme had held an unveil in India to launch the Realme X2 Pro flagship smartphone. It had debuted with a starting price of Rs. 29,999 (~$421) for the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant. Now, the Chinese manufacturer has introduced a new base model for the smartphone in India. It comes with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of native storage. The device is priced at Rs. 27,999 (~$393). At the Realme X2 Pro launch event, the company had claimed that the Realme X2 Pro Master Edition will go on in sale in December. Starting from today, Realme fans in India can purchase the specially designed Realme X2 Pro Master Edition.

Realme X2 Pro 6 GB + 64 GB and Master Edition Availability

Including the newly introduced base model, the Realme X2 Pro is available in three variants such as 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB UFS 3.0 storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB UFS 3.0 storage. These models are respectively priced at Rs. 27,999 (~$393), Rs. 29,999 (~$421) and Rs. 33,999 (~$473).

In addition, Realme is also selling Realme X2 Pro Master Edition that is crafted by popular Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa. His laser-engrave signature is also available on the rear sides of the Red Brick and Concrete colour editions of the Realme X2 Pro Master Edition. The special edition comes with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.0 storage. It carries a price tag of Rs. 34,999 (~$491).

The Master Edition will be available for buying at 8:55 PM IST (local time) through Flipkart and Realme India’s official online store. The 6 GB + 64 GB storage Realme X2 Pro can be also availed from the aforementioned platforms. However, it its availability is not confirmed yet.

The Realme X2 Pro is Realme’s first flagship phone. It already launched in China before launching in India last month. The phone is available in two configurations – 8GB RAM + 128GB and 12GB RAM + 256GB in the country. On Friday, Realme‘s CEO announced that a 6GB RAM + 64GB version will soon be available.

The 6GB RAM + 64GB version is actually sold in China but unlike the other two versions, its storage is UFS 2.1 and not UFS 3.0. We have no idea what the price will be in India but it sells for ¥2699 (~$385) on Realme’s online store in China. It is important to mention that there is also an 8GB RAM + 256GB version sold in China that is not sold in India.

Madhav Sheth also revealed in the tweet that the Realme X2 Pro Concrete and Red Brick Master Editions will go on sale on December 24 at 8:55 PM (local time) on Realme.com and Flipkart.

The Realme X2 Pro has a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a notch and a 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855+ processor. There is a 16MP camera in front for selfies while the rear is home to a 64MP quad-camera setup. The other rear sensors are a 13MP telephoto camera with 20X hybrid zoom, an 8MP ultrawide angle camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The phone has a Super Night Scene mode, EIS, and can record slow-motion videos at 960fps.

Realme has included NFC, dual-frequency GPS, dual SIM support, and an audio jack. There is a 4000mAh battery under the hood with support for 50W SuperVOOC Flash Charge. It also supports USB Power Delivery and Qualcomm’s 18W fast charge technology.

The Realme X2 Pro Master Edition was designed by partnering with Naoto Fukasawa, a known designer from Japan. The company has imprinted his signature on the back panel of the phone using PicoSure laser technology that can be used for 0.09mm thin line. The glass rear of the phone has a matte finish.

The Realme X2 Pro Master Edition Brick Red is priced at 3,199 Yuan (~$455). The device ships with 12 GB of RAM and an internal storage of 256 GB. The remaining specs of the Master Edition are identical with its regular version.

The Realme X2 Pro Master Edition has a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with waterdrop notch. It offers full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The display supports a refresh rate of 90Hz and its integrated with a fingerprint scanner.

The X2 Pro Master Edition has Snapdragon 855 mobile platform onboard. The phone comes with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.0 storage. There is no microSD card slot on the device. The Android 9 Pie OS runs on the X2 Pro Master Edition along with ColorOS 6 UI.

Steps to Unlock Bootloader of Realme X2 Pro

1. Make sure you have data backup on external media.
2. Update the Realme X2 Pro to the latest firmware version.
3. Download and Install the Bootloader Unlock tool apk from the link above.
4. Open the unlock tool and press start applying the In-depth test.
5. After reading the disclaimer, tap the checkbox and submit your applciation.
6. After submission, the unlock tool will show “Review successful” after an hour. The user can now proceed for the next steps.
7. Tap “Start the in-depth test” and the device will reboot.
   Note: The device will display fast boot_unlock_verify ok string.
8. Download and extract the fastboot tool in a folder via the above link in the download section.
9. Connect the phone to the PC via a USB cable.
10. Enter the following command to reboot into the bootloader mode.

    adb reboot bootloader

11. Now execute the command below to unlock the bootloader of Realme X2 Pro.

    fastboot flashing unlock

12. Now, press Volume Up to unlock the bootloader.
13. After, unlocking completes, Type the following command to boot the device.

    fastboot reboot

14. The phone will take some time to boot, and all the data will be erased.
15. The bootloader of Realme X2 Pro is successfully unlocked!

But they are not the only smartphones you can opt for if you want a device in the same price range of the Honor V30 Pro, which is a so-called affordable flagship. We think it is a fool not to compare the new handset from Huawei’s sub-brand to the latest flagship of another sub-brand which is making a huge success in the global market: the Realme X2 Pro. And we decided to include another important device in this comparison, which is one of the few affordable 5G handsets: Vivo iQOO Pro 5G.

Design

Notch has never been the most wanted solution to get rid of display bezels, that is why smartphone manufacturers always try to find new solutions to reduce the bezels without the need for a notch. One of these solutions is the punch-hole display and, in my opinion, that is what makes Honor V30 Pro more beautiful than Realme X2 Pro and Vivo iQOO Pro 5G, alongside its slightly different form factor. But you should also note that Vivo iQOO Neo Pro 5G has a very original look and it is a more compact device, keep that in mind if you do not like smartphones with big dimensions.

Display

Realme X2 Pro’s display is simply astonishing. It is the best screen you can currently find on a smartphone sold for less than €400. It supports the HDR10+ technology, it provides a full DCI P3 coverage and it even has a 90 Hz refresh rate. Simply a perfect display for both gamers and multimedia lovers. It only lacks the Quad HD+ resolution or it would be at the same level as the most expensive flagships. But, you know, a Quad HD+ resolution on a smartphone does not make a lot of difference. If you want a great display, we do not recommend the Honor V30 Pro as it has an average IPS panel.

Hardware/Software

Vivo iQOO Pro and Realme X2 Pro provide superior performance to the Honor V30 Pro thanks to their Snapdragon 855+ chipset. Realme X2 Pro is definitely the best as it sports a UFS 3.0 internal storage and amazing software optimization. It even has a smoother display thanks to the 90 Hz refresh rate. But unfortunately, it lacks support for 5G connectivity. So if you want a 5G phone but you still need the best performance go for the iQOO Pro 5G, otherwise the Realme X2 Pro is the best choice. Even Honor V30 Pro supports 5G, but it is fueled by a Kirin 990 SoC and just 8 GB of RAM, while Realme X2 Pro and Vivo iQOO Pro 5G offer up to 12 GB of RAM. Android 10 is preinstalled only on the Honor V30 Pro, while its rivals run Android 9 Pie.

Camera

Realme X2 Pro and Vivo iQOO Pro 5G are all but real camera phones. The camera master here is the Honor V30 Pro thanks to its 40 MP triple camera including OIS and 3x optical zoom. It even provides a better front camera setup with a dual selfie camera including an ultrawide sensor. After the Honor V30 Pro, the best camera phone is Realme X2 Pro thanks to its 64 MP quad-camera.

Battery

The bigger 4500 mAh battery of the Vivo iQOO Pro 5G makes it last more on a single charge. And with its 44W, it charges very quickly. Right after we got the Honor V30 Pro with a 4100 mAh battery and a very efficient chipset.

Price

Realme X2 Pro is sold for about €344/$379 in Asia, Honor V30 Pro starts from €500/$550, and Vivo iQOO Pro 5G from less than €500/$550. There is not a clear winner here. If you do not need 5G and you are a power user, Realme X2 Pro is a better device than Vivo iQOO Pro 5G, despite it has a smaller battery. But if you need very high performance, 5G and long battery life, go for the Vivo iQOO Pro 5G. If you want a real camera phone, then discard both and choose the Honor V30 Pro.

Realme has today announced that the users of the company’s latest smartphone Realme X2 Pro in India can now experience ColorOS 7 based on Android 10 by participating in the beta recruitment programme.

The company has added that applications for the beta testing are being accepted until December 3, while the ColorOS 7 release for successful beta applicants will debut on December 18.

Further, the company has also shared a couple of images to give a glimpse at the custom ColorOS 7 update designed for the Realme X2 Pro. Earlier this week, Realme announced the ColorOS 7 update roadmap for its key smartphones including the Realme X2 Pro.

The application window is open and applicants need to fill a Google form to participate in the beta testing programme. They need to be an Indian citizen and at least 18 years old. The company is also asking for a “provable” experience in OS beta testing. Selected participants will need to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

After receiving applications, the company will contact successful applicants via an email. The final list of beta testers will also be provided on the Realme Community forums on December 9th.

The smartphone comes with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ S-AMOLED display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC which is clocked at 2.96GHz. The phone is coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage.

Realme recently launched its first premium flagship smartphone in the Indian market — Realme X2 Pro. The smartphone had first made its debut in the company’s home market China last month.

As the company’s Black Friday sale kicks-off in India from today, the Realme X2 Pro smartphone is now available through open sale just for 24 hours, ditching the invite-only early access. The smartphone is currently available for purchase in India through Realme.com, the company’s own online stores as well as via Flipkart.

The 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model is priced at ₹29,999 (~$417) while the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant costs ₹33,999 (~$473). It comes in two color options — Lunar White and Neptune Blue. The Realme X2 Pro Master Edition is not on sale yet.

The smartphone comes with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ S-AMOLED display with 2400 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate, 1000nits of brightness, 2000000:1 contrast ratio and carries support for HDR10+ and DCI-P3 color gamut.

It also packs third-generation in-display fingerprint scanner which the company claims can unlock the device in just 0.23 seconds. Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core processor clocked at 2.96GHz, coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage.

Realme, in an interesting move, has unlocked the bootloader of all of its smartphones that are currently available in the Chinese market. A senior Realme executive went on Weibo, the Chinese microblogging website, to announce that all domestic smartphone models have been opened for bootloader unlocking. This allows for a much greater degree of control and freedom for Realme smartphone users.

For Android smartphone enthusiasts, complete control and customizability is everything. In other words, such users often tend to BL (Bootloader) unlock their smartphones to root their devices and flash new skin or custom UI. To achieve this, users had to download third-party tools which led to loss and voidance of official warranties. However, Realme has now officially unlocked its devices so users can flash custom, unique and even self-made ROMs. Furthermore, users are now also able to obtain the root permissions of the handest to tweak the performance of the device as well.

After launching in China in October, the Realme X2 Pro finally made its way to India last week. For those on the search for an affordable flagship phone, the X2 Pro should definitely fall under their radar.

For this week’s poll, we are pitting the Realme X2 Pro against another flagship phone – the OnePlus 7T.

Both phones share quite a number of features such as the Snapdragon 855+ processor and both screens being AMOLED panels with a 90Hz refresh rate. However, they also have their individual strengths.

For example, Realme X2 Pro packs a slightly bigger battery and its 50W SuperVOOC fast-charge technology is faster than the OnePlus 7T’s Warp Charge 30T. It also has an audio jack, a feature OnePlus has ditched on its phones since 2018. And to top it all, it is more than $100 cheaper than the OnePlus 7T (in India).

The OnePlus 7T, on the other hand, ships with the latest version of Android out of the box compared to the Realme X2 Pro which runs Android Pie and is scheduled to get the Android 10 update later. The OnePlus 7T will also have a longer software support duration. Going by the manufacturer’s tradition of three major software updates, the OnePlus 7T should get updated up until Android 13. There is a very slim chance the Realme X2 Pro will even get Android 12.

ColorOS 7 was officially announced yesterday with a bunch of audio-visual enhancements and feature additions. However, we were disappointed to hear that Realme X2 Pro would be one of the last phones to receive the update, as late as April 2020.

Today, Realme CMO has revealed that the ColorOS 7 early adopter program for the Realme X2 Pro will kick on December 18, which is just a few weeks away. So those who can’t wait to get an early taste of ColorOS 7 can look forward to this program. However, this date is for users in China and we still don’t have a date for the international Realme X2 Pro users. But we should hear more about this on November 26, when OPPO officially unveils the ColorOS 7 in India.

Note that the ColorOS 7 early adopter program for devices like the OPPO Reno, Reno 10X Zoom, and Reno Ace is already live. The base variant of the Realme X2 Pro (6/64 GB) costs €399/$440, but the phone goes up to €499 in the 12/256 GB configuration. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 has only one configuration with 6/128 GB and a €599/$660 price tag. There is not a clear winner of this comparison, despite Xiaomi Mi Note 10 looks like a more impressive phone. The Realme X2 Pro flagship phone is available for purchase in China and Europe. Last month, the Chinese firm had confirmed that it will be debuting the Realme X2 Pro in India on Nov. 20. A landing page for the phone has become active on India’s Flipkart online retailer site.

The landing page of Realme X2 Pro does not reveal details on the specs of the phone. However, it showcases the achievements of the company that had made its debut in the country in 2018. With 10 million smartphone shipments in Q3 2019 and 808 percent year-over-year growth rate, it is the fast growing smartphone brand in the world.

Based on the Counterpoint September 2019 market research data, Realme is currently the number 3 smartphone brand in India. Globally it is on the 7^th position. Such a stupendous growth is being achieved by Realme with 3.5 million units monthly production capacity. Realme is the first smartphone brand to sell a phone with 64-megapixel camera phone. The Realme XT that features it in a quad camera system had debuted in India in September and the company has already solder over 2 million units of the device.

Since its arrival in India, the company has been mainly focused on capturing the mid-range market by selling budget-friendly phones. However, the company is now gearing up to launch its first flagship phone – the Realme X2 Pro in the country. The landing page for the phone has a tagline that reads “Faster. Sharper. Bolder.”

The Realme X2 Pro has a waterdrop notch enabled 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display that offers 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The display of the phone offers 90Hz refresh rate with a maximum brightness of 1000nits. The phone’s display is integrated with a fingerprint reader. The Android 9 Pie OS along with ColorOS 6.1 UI runs on the Realme X2 Pro.

The latest Snapdragon 855+ fuels the smartphone with up to 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM. It comes with up to 256 GB of UFS 3.0 storage. The back panel of the phone flaunts 64-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel quad camera system and it has a front-facing camera of 16-megapixel. Last month, OPPO-backed Realme launched its first premium flagship smartphone in its home market China, dubbed as Realme X2 Pro. The company had also launched Realme X2 Pro Master Edition, which is a premium custom version of the device.

While the X2 Pro has been available for purchase, the Master Edition is scheduled to go on sale in China from 11th November. Now, the company has announced that the Realme X2 Pro Master Edition “Cement” variant will be available for purchase on 11th November.

This is interesting that the company has also announced the sale for just variant of the Master Edition — Cement. The other variant, which is called Red Brick variant, will apparently not go on sale next week.

For those who are unaware, the Realme X2 Pro Master Edition is crafted by Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa and comes with a signature of the designer on the back panel. The Master Edition packs 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The smartphone carries a price tag of 3,299 Yuan (approximately $452) but at the time of launch, the company had said that the first 100 units of the Master Edition will be available with 100 Yuan discount (~$14).

Android 9 Pie is preinstalled on each of these phones, but on the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro it is customized by the MIUI instead of the ColorOS found on the Oppo Reno2 and Realme X2 Pro.

Camera

Despite being a mid-ranger, the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro is one of the most awesome camera phones out there. It is equipped with a Penta-camera including a top-class 108 MP primary sensor, 5x optical zoom, an ultrawide sensor, a dedicated macro camera, and OIS. While it wins the comparison, Oppo Reno2 takes the second place with a 48 MP quad-camera supporting OIS. Realme X2 Pro’s camera is its weakest point: despite it has a 64 MP resolution, its primary sensor is midrange-class.

Battery

After the camera, battery life is the biggest advantage offered by the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro. The battery has a huge 5260 mAh capacity and it fully charges in just 65 minutes thanks to 30W fast charging. Realme X2 Pro charges even faster: you need just 35 minutes, but its battery is smaller and the battery life is shorter. Oppo Reno2 sits in the middle but it has a slower charging technology than Realme X2 Pro.

Price

Realme X2 Pro costs €399/$442 globally, Oppo Reno2 starts from €499/$552, and Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro starts from €360/$399 in China, but we still do not know how much it will cost globally. Overall, Realme X2 Pro is the most interesting device if you are looking for the best performance (and display), but Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro has an infinitely better camera department and a longer battery life. Oppo Reno2 is something in between: it boasts a better design than both its rivals and a good camera, as well as a longer battery life than Realme X2 Pro, but similar performance to Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro.

I am not a fan of that Realme logo which Oppo’s sub-brand put on the upper part of the rear side, but a lot of people like it for the originality. Due to its plastic frame, Vivo iQOO Neo 855 is an inferior choice, but it is still an elegant and good looking phone.

Despite its affordable price even in the global market, the Realme X2 Pro features the best display and it is even a flagship-grade panel. The only thing missing is the Quad HD+ resolution since it is a Full HD+ panel. But it is a Super AMOLED display with a high 90 Hz refresh rate, the support to the advanced HDR10+ standard, a full DCI P3 coverage and even a very high 1000 nits max brightness. Realme X2 Pro features a wide 6.5-inch screen as well as powerful stereo speakers with the support to Dolby Atmos. In the second place, there is the Oppo Reno Ace: it still features a 90 Hz refresh rate and a full DCI P3 coverage, but it does not support HDR10+ (just HDR) and its peak brightness is lower. A day after announcing the Realme X2 in several European markets yesterday, Realme has confirmed that pre-orders for the X2 Pro will commence on November 4. As part of the initial phase, the device will be available in the UK, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, Poland, Spain, and Portugal. The Realme X2 Pro rivals the OnePlus 7T and the Mi 9T Pro with its €399 (~$445) base price tag.

Realme X2 Pro Specifications and Features

The Realme X2 Pro flaunts a 6.5-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED Fluid display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The display features an aspect ratio of 20:9 and 90Hz refresh rate. The screen-to-body ratio is 91.7% while the display supports DC dimming 2.0. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 certification. Powering the Realme X2 Pro is an octa-core Snapdragon 855+ SoC with 6 GB, 8 GB, and 12 GB of RAM.

The smartphone is available in two color options, namely Lunar White and Neptune Blue.
