Low-light performance has improved thanks to a new sensor and wider aperture, keeping full-color video longer at dawn and dusk. Infrared night vision is included for recording in total darkness.

Gemini AI brings smarter alerts and features. You can get detailed notifications, such as “dog jumps out of playpen,” and see zoomed-in previews of events. Ask Home lets you search your video history with questions like, “What happened to the vase in the living room?” Home Brief creates short summaries of hours of footage. Cameras can identify people, vehicles, animals, and packages. Video history has doubled from three to six hours, and digital zoom and cropping help focus on what matters.

Privacy, Design, and Sustainability

All cameras encrypt video by default, support two-step verification, and have a green LED to show when they are recording. Nest Cam Outdoor and Doorbell use recycled materials with UV protection and no paint. Outdoor cameras and the doorbell are IP65-rated. Indoor cameras come in Snow, Hazel, and Berry. Outdoor cameras are available in Snow and Hazel. Doorbell colors are Snow, Hazel, and Linen.

Availability and Pricing

Nest Cam Indoor costs $99.99. Nest Cam Outdoor is $149.99 or $249.99 for a two-pack. Nest Doorbell is $179.99. They are available October 1 in the U.S., Canada, Australia, Japan, the U.K., Ireland, and parts of Europe. Gemini features roll out first in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, and Australia, with other regions in early 2026.

Meizu has just launched a new product from its Lifeme brand, which is the company’s lifestyle brand. The new device in question is the Lifeme Smart Camera Pro, which has just been unveiled in China.

Talking about the design first, the new Lifeme Smart Camera Pro from Meizu is a small camera device that has a black cylidrical body with a clip to attach to the frame of the display. This body houses a 48 megapixel Sony IMX581 sensor that supports pixel binning, offers 107° wide angle view, and even supports 4K resolution recording at 30fps. Furthermore, this sensor is complimented by a high performance ISP chip that brings a customized 3A image processing algorithm for multi scene depth to offer improved capture quality.

The sensor itself also includes 6 professional optical lenses along with 42 layers of anti glare coating as well. The Smart Camera Pro also houses a 4 microphone array that can pickup audio from up to 7 meters away and achieves a true 360° audio capture. Furthermore, the device is also capable of identifying the sounds in the environment around the user and filter out unnecessary noise to obtain clearer audio from the user.

Notably, it even features built in single person tracking, multi person conference mode, panoramic mode, and object tracking mode as well, which can be accessed via specific gestures. The new Meizu Lifeme Smart Camera Pro has been launched in China and arrives with a price tag of just 699 Yuan or roughly 97 US Dollars.

Earlier today (9th May 2022), ZTE hosted the Axon 40 Pro and Axon 40 Ultra launch event in China. Apart from the new Axon 40 series of smartphones. During this event, the company also announced other new gadgets as well, which includes a new WiFi Router and a Smart Camera.

Talking about the new router first, the Chinese brand launched the new AX3000 Xuntian Edition Router. The new WiFi router is equipped with the company’s proprietary third generation dual core chipset. This processor comes with a 25 percent increase in performance and lower power consumption as well. It supports 160MHz bandwidth, 3,000Mbps rate, and adopts a 4+1 five antenna design that can cover a large apartment easily thanks to its 100 to 120 square meters coverage.

Furthermore, it is also equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet port and supports EasyMesh one click networking as well. It is priced at 289 Yuan (roughly 43 US Dollars) and will go on sale later this month. For those unaware, Xuntian is also known as the Chinese Survey Space Telescope or the Chinese Space Station Telescope. So in other words, the router is basically named after a space telescope.

Apart from the router, ZTE has also launched a new smart camera that is built for home security. The new smart camera can record in low light with full color and also supports ultra clear infrared night vision. Notably, it even supports 24 hours high definition monitoring as well. One of the highlighting aspects of the new Xiaoxing Patronus Gimbal is that it can record in 2.5K resolution. The security camera is priced at 229 Yuan (roughly 34 US Dollars).

Qualcomm has just announced a new technology that is has been working on earlier today (24th March 2022). The latest product is the company’s latest smart camera IoT solution, and is dubbed Qualcomm QCS7230.

Notably, this arrives as the brand expands its product portfolio of visual intelligence based platform, which promotes enterprise security prevention and control and even public safety as well. As per the American chip making giant, the new solution will arrive with cutting edge AI tech that uses real time edge computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and analysis to offer improved security and operational efficiency that will help make cities, enterprises, and others to be safer and more efficient.

Qualcomm officials further added that the new solution will help accelerate the development of edge AI services to provide enterprises and entities with the technical elements needed to deploy smart cameras and smart IoT endpoints. This technology will also support video collaboration, access controls, enterprise and home security, along with 360 degree cameras, dash cams, and wearable cameras as well. As of right now, Thundercomm has already commercially launched the TurboX QCS7230 smart module. Like expected, Xiaomi has announced a brand new 360° Rotating Mi Home White Smart Camera for 399 Yuan ($60). This is yet another addition to the company’s smart camera lineup which includes action cameras and surveillance cameras.

Thanks to its rotating design, the new camera boasts of the ability to take 360-degree panorama photos, along with 85-degree wide vertical viewing angle. This ensures that the camera covers a wide area for surveillance. Further, the Xiaomi 360° Mi White Smart camera comes with a large f/1.8 aperture lens. The camera can capture videos at a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080. There’s professional DSP noise reduction technology as well.

Last year, Xiaomi revealed the XiaoYi Ants Smart camera for surveillance and security purposes. Like most other Xiaomi products, this particular camera was popular among buyers because it was cheap. Now, Xiaomi has announced the second generation version of the XiaoYi Small Ants 2 smart camera and it comes with some much-needed improvements and functional additions.

The new XiaoYi Small Ants 2 smart camera comes with an upgraded CMOS sensor from Panasonic using a new generation of S2LM image processing chip. Now, the camera can capture FHD 1080p videos at 25fps (as opposed to 720p on the older model) and features 130 degrees wide angle lens with f/2.0 aperture. There are many other technologies working inside like a unique smartHDR tech , LDC distortion correction tech etc to improve the images taken by the smart cam.

Given that this is a smart camera, you will find a number of special features on the device, thanks to a combination of its computer vision and speech processing technologies.
