Xiaomi has started releasing the HyperOS update for Xiaomi 13 Pro (review) smartphones in India. Xiaomi India’s Marketing Associate Director has also confirmed the arrival of the update on this smartphone by sharing screenshots on Twitter.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro HyperOS update carries the version 1.0.1.0.UMBINXM and has a file size of 1.9 GB. Additionally, it includes the Android security patch for December 2023.

The rollout is currently underway, with Xiaomi assuring users that it will be accessible to all by January 2024. The update brings several enhancements, including:

System:

• Updated Android Security Patch to December 2023 for improved system security.

Comprehensive Refactoring:

• Upgraded memory management engine to enhance resource allocation and memory usage efficiency.

Vibrant Aesthetics:

• Global aesthetics inspired by life, altering the device’s look and feel.
• Introduction of a new animation language for more intuitive interactions.
• Natural colors for vibrancy and vitality across the device.
• Redesigned Weather app offering essential information and a more sensory weather experience.
• Streamlined notifications for efficiency.
• Enhanced Lock screen with photo effects and dynamic rendering.
• New Home screen icons with refreshed shapes and colors.
• Improved multitasking with an upgraded multi-window interface.

Xiaomi also revealed that the Xiaomi Pad 6 is scheduled to receive the update in January. Although the recently launched Redmi Note 13 Pro and Note 13 Pro+ devices are currently running on Android 13-based MIUI 14, Xiaomi assures users that these devices are HyperOS-ready and will receive the update soon. Other than that, the upcoming POCO X6 Pro 5G will be confirmed to be the first smartphone to ship with HyperOS out of the box. The X6 5G series will launch on January 11 alongside the POCO M6 4G.

Xiaomi, in collaboration with Leica, recently released its brand new next generation of premium camera phones, the Xiaomi 14 series, on its original shores of China. The Xiaomi and Leica partnership has been ongoing since July 2021, the launch Xiaomi 12S series, and since then, Xiaomi has released 10 smartphones (excluding foldables) with the Leica branding on them. And today, in this guide, we are planning to clear up some confusion on which Leica-branded Xiaomi smartphone has the best camera setup for its users to take photos and videos.

This guide will be ranked based on the versatility of the camera setup, then the lens sported on setup, according to the Leica rating branded on Xiaomi’s camera phones. And now without further ado, here’s the full list of the Leica-branded Xiaomi smartphones from least versatility to most versatility in photography.

Least Versatility

Let’s start with the least versatile Leica-branded Xiaomi camera setups, which are respectively found on the 4 flagships: Xiaomi 13T, Xiaomi 13T Pro, Xiaomi 12S, and Xiaomi 12S Pro. 

All camera systems of the 4 devices sport a camera setup that has a Leica VARIO-SUMMICRON rating, an aspherical lens, and a 15 mm to 50 mm lens range for ultra-wide (15 mm, 0.65x optical), standard (23 mm, 1x optical) and zoom (50 mm, 2.17x optical) shots, with an exception to 12S Pro which has an ultra-wide of 14 mm, 0.61x optical. 

The Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro have a shorter aperture range of f/1.9 to f/2.2, compared to the longer aperture range of f/1.9 to f/2.4 found on the Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro. Although these 4 devices have the lowest-rated versatility among the 10 Leica-branded Xiaomi smartphones, these devices still sport the same Leica custom photographic styles in their camera interface, Leica’s master-lens system for bokeh photos, as well as the signature Leica Vibrant and Leica Authentic looks to provide the user the choice of either true-to-life photos with their smartphone or the more saturated and punchier look that can be obtained from the device.

Nonetheless, the Xiaomi 13T series and Xiaomi 12S series sport a great camera setup that makes the user want to experiment with their cameras more due to the Leica shooting experience, and for the majority of users, these 4 devices are more than enough for shooting great photos in the outdoors and in the indoors. Not to mention, the Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 12S are currently the cheapest Leica-branded smartphones in the market as of November 2023. Moderate Versatility

Next, we have the 4 smartphones ranked with a moderate versatility ranking in their camera setup, which are respectively the Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. 

These devices feature a longer lens range, giving better versatility than the Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 12S. The lens ranges of the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 14 series are respectively ultra-wide (14 mm, 0.61x optical), standard (23 mm, 1x optical), 2x zoom (50 mm, 2.17x optical), and 3x zoom (75 mm, 3.26x optical). The exception is the Xiaomi 13 which goes from 15 – 75 mm instead of the 14 mm – 75 mm found on the other 3 devices.

With a longer lens range, better versatility is provided in the camera setup as photos and videos have less noise at when shot at different focal lengths. In turn, you can take better photos when zooming into your subject, as less camera noise is in the shot. All 4 devices sport an aspherical lens and are able to shoot up to a max f/2.2 aperture for the photos. However, it should be noted that the Xiaomi 13 series uses Leica’s VARIO-SUMMICRON lenses which have a lower aperture range that starts at f/1.8, whereas the Xiaomi 14 series uses the Leica VARIO-SUMMILUX lenses which are known for its wider aperture and outstanding low-light shots in the dark. Thus, the Xiaomi 14 series, like the Xiaomi 14 Pro also has a longer variable aperture range from f/1.42 to f/2.2 for great shots, no matter in low-light or bright lighting conditions.

The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 14 strike a balance between the lineup with its great camera hardware and accessibility towards the buyers. And users will be more satisfied towards these devices over the Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 12S if they want more camera versatility in their pockets.

Most Versatility

Last but not least, the the Leica-branded smartphones with the most versatile camera setup in Xiaomi’s flagship smartphone lineup, are none other than the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and Xiaomi 13 Ultra. 

With the longest lens range out of all the 10 Leica-branded smartphones (13-120 mm and 12-120 mm), these devices are capable of taking photos in ultra-wide (12 mm at 0.52x optical on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra) (13 mm on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra), standard (23 mm, 1x optical), 2x zoom (50 mm, 2.17x optical), 3x zoom (75 mm, 3.26x optical), and 5x periscope zoom (120 mm, 5.22x optical).

With so much versatility between 0.5x ultra-wide to 5x optical zoom shots, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and Xiaomi 13 Ultra provide unparalleled Leica shots whether near or far away from the subject. Both are the best camera smartphones that Xiaomi has to offer, and probably sport one of the best camera setups in the entire smartphone industry. The aperture range of the Ultra devices is also the biggest range in the Leica-branded lineup, with f/1.9 to f/4.0 on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, and f/1.8 to f/3.0 on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.

I was planning to upgrade to a new smartphone during this year’s festive sale in India. I was particularly interested in buying a flagship phone.

When the Galaxy S23 Plus went official, I had set my eyes on it. Having used the Galaxy A52 since its release, I was too accustomed to the Galaxy ecosystem as it works well with my Chrome OS tablet (Phone Hub) and Windows laptop (Phone Link). I even invested in Galaxy Buds Plus and Galaxy Watch 4 over the past two years.

But out of nowhere, I got attracted to the Xiaomi 13 Pro due to its camera prowess, which I require for my reviews’ product shots. The Galaxy S23 Plus’ camera paled in comparison.

Also, neither Samsung nor retailers offered discounts on the bigger S23 which retails at ₹94,999. This made the Xiaomi 13 Pro a much better deal with its discounted price tag of ₹74,999.

I visited my local Xiaomi Studio store multiple times to try Xiaomi’s most premium smartphone in India. I loved every bit of it, except the front camera, which is its Achilles’ heel.

However, I decided not to buy the Xiaomi 13 Pro after doing some research. And to my surprise, I jumped over the fence to join the dark side by purchasing an iPhone 15.

Yes, you heard it right. I wanted an Android premium phone but I went with an iPhone instead.

I knew from the beginning that the Xiaomi 13 Pro is one of the best smartphones on the market, thanks to our review team from China. When the phone hit global markets, it became more apparent to me after going through media and user reviews from multiple regions.

Especially, in India, Xiaomi 13 Pro offers a lot more value for ₹79,999. Don’t listen to people who say otherwise. It is not overpriced at all as you don’t get hardware like this on any similarly priced products.

But then why I decided not to buy it? It has to do nothing with the phone but with the history of Xiaomi’s premium smartphones in India.

Xiaomi stopped launching its Mi series flagships in India after the Mi 5 in 2016. Anyways, the Mi Mix 2 did receive a limited release in 2017.

Then, three years later in 2020, the company brought the Mi 10 to India during the worst time possible (COVID-19 global pandemic). It was later followed by Mi 11 Ultra, which also suffered from bad timing (India’s deadly COVID-19 second wave).

Not only sales of these products tanked but they were plagued with hardware issues following software updates. Both of them were discontinued quickly.

Then, in 2021, Xiaomi didn’t give up and debuted the Xiaomi 12 Pro in the country. This device is still being sold at a cheaper price more than a year after its release.

It was a breath of fresh air but with a quirk. It houses the infamous Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, which results in poor thermal and battery performance.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro, on the other hand, does not have any issues like its predecessors so far. But I still couldn’t trust the company’s after-sales support for premium handsets as they have been terrible so far. 

The firm was unable to fix the WiFi issue on the Mi 11 Ultra. It only recently issued a free upgrade to Xiaomi 12 Pro two years later.

Also, you never know which MIUI update will break your device’s hardware. Xiaomi really needs to work on it instead of stopping system updates altogether, like on the Redmi Note 10 Pro.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro is perfectly fine right now. However, I am skeptical about its future, given Xiaomi’s history so far.

I don’t believe in upgrading smartphones every year. And when I am investing a premium amount, I not only expect longevity but also good after-sales service, be it official or third-party. Thus far, these things do not resonate with Xiaomi’s premium handsets in India.

So then again why I went with the iPhone 15 instead of the Galaxy S23 Plus? As I mentioned earlier, lack of discount is the first reason.

Secondly, Apple hit it out of the park with the iPhone 15, which starts at ₹79,900. The new base iPhone arguably has better cameras than the S23. Yes, the lack of a zoom camera is painful for my usage but the level of detail you get from the new 24MP shots is really good.

I am yet to settle down with the whole iOS thing. But so far, I am enjoying the device. Interestingly, the 60Hz display doesn’t bother me though I use the iPhone 15 alongside the OnePlus Nord CE 3 (review) sporting a 120Hz screen. 

I wouldn’t call the iPhone 15 a perfect smartphone for its asking price. But I find it better than the options I had in mind.

I could have waited for the Galaxy S24 series, which is expected to release in January. But the non-Ultra models are rumored to feature the new Exynos chip in India. We all know how terrible Samsung’s own chipsets have been lately in terms of thermals and battery life.

So this was the story of how I joined the dark side. Not by choice but by force.

With Android 14 OS finally going official, smartphone makers are rushing to update some of their high end devices to the latest Android version. One of these brands includes Xiaomi, which is now rolling out the stable build for Android 14 on the Xiaomi 13 Pro.

Xiaomi 13 Pro gets Android 14 Update

The Chinese tech giant’s is rolling out the stable Android 14 version update. Keep in mind that this major software update is only available in the European region. The company is likely releasing the Android 14 update in a staggered manner, so a wider availability should follow soon. So now, the device runs on the latest Android version with MIUI 15 custom skin on top.

Back in September, the MIUI 15 was being tested on the Xiaomi 13 model, so we can expect the base model of the flagship series to receive the update soon as well. The update carries the firmware version of 14.0.5.0.UMBEUXM, and has a total size of 5.5GB. Furthermore, the Android 14 OS update also comes with the September 2023 Android security patch as well.

For those unaware, the Xiaomi 13 Pro is a flagship grade handset that features top notch specs and features. It is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC that is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The rear packs a 50-megapixel triple camera setup, while the front houses a 32-megapixel selfie camera. It sports a tall 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED display that offers a 2K+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

For the last few years, Google has been releasing new versions of Android in August. But this year, the search giant didn’t. The next version of Android is now expected to debut alongside the Pixel 8 series in October.

Partner OEMs have been running the Android 14 public beta program for their devices since August. The most notable ones are Oppo, OnePlus, and Xiaomi. All of them kickstarted their initiative in August starting with China.

Recently, OnePlus opened up its Android 14 beta program for global users. Now, even Xiaomi has joined the club.

In China, the Android 14 beta program by Xiaomi only covers Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. However, for international markets, the company has also included Xiaomi 12T. We already knew that these three devices would be soon receiving the update back in August itself.

As usual, the beta software builds for the aforementioned smartphones are only available for select users. They are being exclusively rolled out to Mi Pilot testers.

Though the firmware files can be downloaded from Xiaomi servers by anyone, they cannot be installed on every device. Because the software build checks for the Xiaomi account, IMEI number, and serial number associated with the testers recruited by the company.

Thus, regular users will have to wait for some time to get their hands on the latest software. It may take weeks or even months after Android 14 goes official.

As for the MIUI version, it is still 14 though we have been hearing about MIUI 15 for a while. The next iteration of MIUI will likely arrive alongside the Xiaomi 14 series in November.

Android 14 stable is expected to release this month. Hence, OEMs have begun their public beta programs. Xiaomi is among the first Chinese OEMs to start the initiative alongside Oppo.

As part of the initial batch, the company has only included two devices in the program. And unsurprisingly, the initiative is exclusive to China for now though global ROMs are ready for these phones.

As per the official announcement by Xiaomi, the following smartphones are eligible for Android 14-based MIUI beta builds.

• Xiaomi 13
• Xiaomi 13 Pro

The public beta registrations are live, and selected applicants have already started receiving the latest software via OTA. The beta builds for the handsets mentioned above come with MUI 14, which suggests that MIUI 15 announcement may take some time.

We expect more devices to be added to the beta program in the coming days. Also, there should be global availability as well.

However, we have no information on the stable release timeline. Xiaomi is historically not known for revealing the Android update schedule, unlike the MIUI rollout plan.

Anyways, we are looking forward to hearing more from the company regarding this matter. Also, hopefully, the new update does not cause damage to select phones (especially Poco) like in the past.

Google released the first developer preview of Android 14 in February. Earlier this month, the search giant dropped the first beta.

The company is expected to officially unveil the latest version of Android next week at Google I/O 2023. We are looking forward to the beta program from partner OEMs following the keynote.

Just like in previous years, Xiaomi will be part of the beta program. MIUI codebase reveals that the brand will be releasing Android 14 beta builds for 4 devices.

According to Xiaomiui, Xiaomi has started testing Android 14 builds on the following two smartphones and two tablets since April 25.

• Xiaomi 13
• Xiaomi 13 Pro
• Xiaomi Pad 6
• Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro

Next week, the company will likely officially announce the beta program for the general public. However, you will have to be a recruited tester to try out the latest software. The registrations for the recruitment will possibly open post-announcement.

Xiaomi will be accompanied by other OEMs providing Android 14 beta builds for their devices. Most other companies don’t require you to register to try out beta software. You can simply download and install beta builds by following instructions on their official developer/community website.

Android 14 is expected to hit stable in August. OEMs will begin rolling out the update to their eligible smartphones and tablets after that.

With every passing year, phones get taller. There was a time when smaller phones were everywhere and while we are not against large displays, it’s good to have variety in the market. Xiaomi, one of the top phone manufacturers, offers a range of devices, from affordable to premium. But it’s worth noting that most of its phones tend to be on the larger side, and it doesn’t seem like that will change anytime soon. In fact, Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, recently shared some insight into why the company isn’t looking to make smaller and more compact phones.

Replying to a Weibo user asking if the company can make small and compact phones, Lei Jun said that the Xiaomi 13 is already a very good option, with exactly the same width as the iPhone 14, offering a balance between screen size and in-hand feel. The executive isn’t wrong as we noted in our review that the Xiaomi 13 actually feels great to hold.

Further, Lei Jun explained why Xiaomi can’t produce compact phones in simple terms. He said that the number of people who want smaller phones is not enough, and so the sales volume wouldn’t justify the expenses incurred in developing a flagship mobile phone. Additionally, making the phone smaller would affect its battery life and camera capabilities.

The market for compact phones is indeed shrinking. What used to be a norm earlier, has now become a rarity. There are a few options still available in the market, like the iPhone mini line but that won’t be renewed further. In the Android world, you get the Galaxy S23, Asus Zenfone 8, and a bunch of other decent options.

Although the retail price remains the same, Xiaomi is offering a huge discount for ICICI Bank customers along with an exchange offer on old smartphones. This is valid across the brand’s website, Mi Home, Mi Retail Partners, and Amazon. The discount is a part of the Xiaomi Fan Festival. 

Interested customers with ICICI Bank credit cards can avail of a flat instant discount of Rs 8,000 on the purchase of the Xiaomi 13 Pro via credit and credit EMI transactions. There is an exchange value of up to Rs 33,000 on old smartphones on Amazon. Customers purchasing from Xiaomi’s official website will be eligible for up to Rs. 10,000 exchange bonus if they have a Redmi and Xiaomi smartphone. Extra Rs 2,000 will be added during checkout.

The ICICI Bank discount brings down the price of the Xiaomi 13 Pro to Rs 71,999. With an exchange offer for Xiaomi and Redmi users, the phone can be availed at Rs 69,999.

Other smartphone users are also eligible for up to Rs. 8,000 exchange bonus. It’s worth noting that the exchange bonus value depends on the condition of the user’s smartphone.

If your Xiaomi 13 or 13 Pro was damaged by causes not stated in the warranty, do not worry as your device is eligible for 1 out-of-warranty repair for free by Xiaomi Malaysia within 12 months after the first purchase date.

Hypothetically your Xiaomi 13 series smartphone was indeed sent for repair at the Xiaomi authorised service centre, the VIP aftersales service offered for Xiaomi 13 buyers means that Xiaomi will lend you a spare phone upon request as Xiaomi repairs your Xiaomi 13. This is particularly for people who only use one phone for their daily driver. We’ve all heard about DXOMark. They are camera study analyzes that thoroughly evaluate and assesses the camera capabilities of smartphones. Huawei and Honor’s smartphones are generally at the top of their lists. In any case, the DXOMark test results for the photography expert Xiaomi 13 Pro are now out. According to the DXOMark test, the devices were ranked 16th overall and 15th in the ultra-premium category.

Furthermore, the Xiaomi 13 Pro is ranked 17th in terms of display benchmark and 15th in terms of speaker performance. According to DXOMark, the smartphone’s overall camera performance is extremely good. It has a good level of detail, good saturation control, and is fairly good in terms of zoom. The device’s audio-recording skills are also extremely good. Although the results also state that it struggles to capture the moment in difficult settings such as backlit scenes or low light, fails to correctly expose the image in high-contrast scenarios, and is not appropriate for recording loud voices such as concerts. They also remark that the device’s display readability is poor in direct sunlight.

According to DXOMark, the Honor Magic5 Pro is currently the best-performing smartphone in terms of camera, followed by the Huawei Mate 50 Pro. The Google Pixel 7 Pro is ranked third, followed by the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max. Also, according to their website, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and Xiaomi 13 Pro perform nearly identically, with the same score of 136 points and ranked 16th. That concludes this post. Today, the firm has revealed the pricing, offers, and availability of the Xiaomi 13 Pro in India. Let’s check out how much you will have to pay for Xiaomi’s latest premium smartphone in the country.

Xiaomi 13 Pro Price and Launch Offers in India

The Xiaomi 13 Pro is priced at ₹79,999 (~$970) for the single 12GB + 256GB storage variant in India. It can be availed in either Ceramic Black or Ceramic White color options.

Customers can choose between two different launch offers. They can opt for a flat ₹10,000 (~$120) discount on cards issued by ICICI Bank or an additional exchange bonus of ₹12,000 (~$145).

The device will be sold across multiple platforms, such as Mi.com, Amazon, Mi Homes, and Mi retail partners. The first sale is scheduled for March 10 at 12 PM.

There’s also a special early access sale at 12 PM on March 6. This sale will be limited to Mi.com and select Mi Homes and Mi Studios.

The standard Xiaomi 13 will be available in 3 colours in the country: Flora Green, Black and White, the Xiaomi 13 Pro 256GB will be available in Ceramic Black and Ceramic White, and the Xiaomi 13 Pro 512GB limited edition will be available in only Ceramic Black.

It should be noted here that currently the Xiaomi 13 Pro 512GB can only be obtained via Xiaomi’s Limited Edition Pre-Order Package that charges RM5,999. The package includes the Xiaomi 13 Pro 512GB, the Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro, the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro, and the Xiaomi 33W Power Bank 10,000 mAh Pocket Edition Pro.

Pre-orders for the Xiaomi 13 series in Malaysia start from February 27 until March 7, and pre-order customers will be able to obtain several free gifts from the brand as part of the ongoing promotion.

Customers who pre-order from any physical Xiaomi authorized stores in Malaysia will receive 2 years of service warranty, 6 months of Google’s Google One cloud subscription, and a free TV from Xiaomi. As part of the Xiaomi and Google partnership announcement at MWC Barcelona 2023 today, retail buyers will be able to enjoy Google’s Magic Eraser feature on their latest Xiaomi 13 Pro and standard Xiaomi 13. However, there’s a catch, they will only be able to use the Magic Eraser for free on the Xiaomi 13 series for the first 6 months, as part of the free 6-month Google One subscription given to Xiaomi 13 series users to experience Google’s software magic.

For those unaware, this month Google announced that the tech giant is bringing Magic Eraser to all Google One subscribers, including both Android and iPhone users. Magic Eraser is previously a Pixel-exclusive photo-editing feature, which tried to seamlessly remove unwanted parts of a picture with software processing. It is heralded as one of the main reasons why people prefer Google’s camera suite over other Android smartphone makers.

In addition to the free 6-month Google One subscription, Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro retail buyers will also enjoy up to 6 months of YouTube Premium with ad-free access to YouTube and YouTube Music app.

As announced by Xiaomi at MWC 2023, Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi 13 users will also get one out-of-warranty repair without labour cost within the first 12 months after purchase. Xiaomi also promises that both smartphones will 3 generations of Android system updates, along with 5 years of security patch updates, up from the 3 OS and 4-year promise it offered on last year’s Xiaomi 12 series.

It should be noted that these privileges listed above are exclusive to the standard Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, and the privileges are not applicable to the Xiaomi 13 Lite.

It was also announced today that going forward, the company will begin product carbon footprint assessment to evaluate the impact of its business towards the environment. 

Xiaomi revealed that it has conducted an LCA carbon footprint analysis on its latest flagship smartphone, in a collaboration with an external carbon data analysis and certification organization which enabled the establishment of a comprehensive process and methodological model for assessing the carbon footprint of smartphone products.  

In detail, Xiaomi’s latest flagship, the Xiaomi 13 Pro, has a carbon footprint marked as 62.8 kg CO2e. Xiaomi’s measurements cover the evaluation of carbon emissions from raw materials, manufacturing, storage, transportation, use and end-of-life disposal. This measurement is in accordance with PAS2050 to ensure data accuracy and credibility. 

“We are committed to this valuable information to inform our decision-making and prioritize sustainability in everything we do,” a Xiaomi spokesperson stated,  “This initiative has allowed us to make significant progress in reducing our carbon footprint and ensuring that our products have a positive impact on the environment. We are proud to continue on this path towards a more sustainable future.”

Besides that, Xiaomi claims that it is a brand that champions sustainable living awareness among its users. Currently, Xiaomi provides over 40 energy-saving products and utilizes the One Paper Box design to reduce packaging by up to 40%. By implementing this LCA carbon footprint management system, Xiaomi takes a critical step towards achieving its sustainability objective and underscores its commitment to developing eco-friendly products that benefit both consumers and the planet.

At a pre-MWC launch event in Barcelona, Spain, Xiaomi has unveiled a host of new products for the global markets. The Chinese brand has launched the Xiaomi 13 series smartphones, Watch  S1 Pro, MIUI 14, Xiaomi CyberDog, CyberOne, and more. The Xiaomi 13 series comprises the regular, pro, and lite models. The former two debuted in China in December last year whereas the lite variant is a rebranded version of the Xiaomi Civi 2. 

The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro arrive as the successors to the last year’s Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. They pack significant upgrades over their predecessors and the specifications of the global variants are the same as their Chinese counterparts. 

Beginning with the display, the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro boast an AMOLED screen integrated with a fingerprint scanner and a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout. Both devices offer a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,900 nits peak brightness, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG support. The regular variant features a 6.36-inch flat screen bearing an FHD+ resolution whereas the Pro model comes with a 6.73-inch QHD+ display with curved edges. 

Design-wise, the Xiaomi 13 sports a boxy form factor whereas the Pro variant has a slim profile. Both devices have a square camera module on the back panel and they are IP68-certified water and dust-resistant. The smartphones feature a nano-skin technology that is said to make the back panel easier to clean. In terms of audio, the Xiaomi 13 duo are equipped with stereo speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos. 

On the imaging front, the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro feature Leica-branded triple rear cameras and pack the legendary camera maker’s technology for enhancing imaging capabilities. These include Leica filters, a master-lens system with four focal lens up to 75mm, HperOIS, 4K recording etc. The Pro model has a 1-inch Sony IMX989 50MP primary lens paired with 50MP ultra-wide, and 50MP telephoto lenses. The regular variant has a toned-down setup of a 50MP OIS-enabled Sony IMX800 sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10MP telephoto unit. Up front, the Xiaomi 13 duo is fitted with a 16MP selfie snapper. 

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro are equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor coupled with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage technology. There is a VC liquid cooling heat dissipation system onboard. The regular and pro variants draw their power from 4,500mAh and 4,820mAh battery units with support for 67W and 120W wired charging respectively. Both phones come with support for 50W wireless and 10W reverse wireless charging with the help of a Surge G1 charging protection chip. 

Software-wise, the Xiaomi 13 duo run on MIUI 14-based Android 13 OS out of the box. The smartphones will receive 3 years of Android OS updates and five years of security patches. Connectivity options on the devices include 5G, 4G, WiFi-7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, IR Blaster, and USB-C port. 

The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro are offered in Ceramic White and Ceramic Black colours. The regular model is also offered in Flora Green paintjob. The former starts at EUR 999 for the 8GB + 256GB option while the latter carries a starting price tag of EUR 1,299 for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The pricing for the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro’s 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB has not been announced. The availability dates and pricing will vary for different regions.

After a long while, we are going to have multiple smartphone launches, courtesy of Mobile World Congress 2023. At least four brands are expected to debut multiple new phones.

Unfortunately, most of these handsets are merely making their way to the global markets as they had already gone official in China. Either way, they are new products for most parts of the world.

The announcement of these phones will begin coming Sunday and will last until Wednesday. With that out of the way, let’s take a quick look at the devices that are scheduled to be unveiled in the next few days.

Upcoming Smartphones Next Week

Xiaomi 13 Series

Xiaomi has scheduled to launch the Xiaomi 13 series for global markets on February 26. The event will begin at 4 PM GMT+1. It will be live-streamed on YouTube.

The lineup is expected to include three models, namely Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, and Xiaomi 13 Lite. The former two are the same as the ones sold in China. Whereas, the lite variant is actually a rebranded Xiaomi Civi 2 from September.

The regular and pro phones will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, while the lite will house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. The former two will even arrive with Leica-tuned cameras.

The Xiaomi 13, 13 Pro, and 13 Lite are tipped to cost around €999, €1,299, and €499, respectively.

Honor Magic 5 Series and Honor Magic Vs

Honor has planned its event for February 27 at 1:30 PM CET. The brand has confirmed to debut the Honor Magic 5 series and Honor Magic Vs at this conference.

Unlike most handsets, not much is known about the Magic 5 series. The lineup is said to include four devices, such as Honor Magic 5, Honor Magic 5 Pro, Honor Magic 5 Ultimate, and Honor Magic 5 Lite. The first three phones are expected to house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, while the last one is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 695 SoC.

On the other hand, the Honor Magic Vs foldable smartphone had already gone official in China in late November. Everything is known about this product.

Realme GT 3

The Relame GT 3 is set to launch in global markets on February 28. The event will start at 4 PM UTC+1 and will be live-streamed on YouTube.

The GT 3 for international markets is nothing but rebranded Realme GT Neo 5 from China. The handset will be available in 150W and 240W charging variants.

The highlights of the device will include a 6.74-inch 10-bit 144Hz AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera, dual stereo speakers, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, infrared sensor, and more.

Vivo V27 Series

The Vivo V27 series will be debuting in India on March 1. It will be announced in a live stream that will start at 12 PM IST.

The lineup will consist of three smartphones, namely Vivo V27, Vivo V27 Pro, and Vivo V27e. These handsets are rebranded versions of the Vivo S16 series sold in China with a few differences.

Like its predecessors, the Vivo V27 series is all about design and selfie cameras. However, unlike the previous models, the upcoming devices will also come with flagship-killer chipsets, such as MediaTek Dimensity 8200 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 870.

Earlier today, Lei Jun officially confirmed that there won’t be Xiaomi 13S series later this year. Followed by the announcement, a reliable leaker revealed that the company will not be releasing a MediaTek Dimensity version of Xiaomi 13 phones as well.

For the uninitiated, Xiaomi released the Xiaomi 12S series last year with Leica-tuned cameras and a better chip than in the original models. These handsets were accompanied by Xiaomi 12S Ultra.  At the same time, the brand had also debuted a Dimensity variant of Xiaomi 12 Pro.

There were rumors of a Dimensity model of the Xiaomi 13 series a few months back. However, just as the lineup went official, the leaks about this other version of the handset subdued.

Now, Digital Chat Station discloses that the Dimenisty variant of the Xiaomi 13 series was canceled at the end of 2022. However, he hints at the launch of the Redmi K60 Ultra with a Dimensity chipset in the second half of 2023.

Historically, the Redmi K Ultra models have mostly featured MediaTek’s flagship chips. Hence, this rumored device could be an alternative for those waiting for the canceled Xiaomi 13 Dimensity version.

Last year’s Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition debuted at a cheaper price than the original Xiaomi 12 Pro. That’s because it not only comes with a less-expensive Dimensity 9000 Plus chipset but also downgraded cameras and slower charging speed.

The global launch of the Xiaomi 13 series flagship smartphone is fast approaching as we get closer to Mobile World Congress 2023. Ahead of the launch, we have seen a bunch of leaks about the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro. Now, a European retailer has listed the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro on its website ahead of launch.

The highly anticipated Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro have been listed on European retailer Cyberport’s website, revealing their starting prices and color options. The Xiaomi 13 will be available for €999.90 with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, with the possibility of a 128 GB variant yet to be confirmed. However, those hoping for a flashy color scheme will be disappointed as only black and white models have been listed.

Similarly, the Xiaomi 13 Pro will also be limited to black and white color options and will be priced at €1,299.90. However, the listings for both models have since been taken down from Cyberport’s website.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro has already been released in China, revealing its impressive specifications. The smartphone boasts a large 6.73-inch LTPO E6 AMOLED display with Quad HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sampling rate, as well as a peak brightness of 1900 nits. The screen also includes Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection and supports Dolby Vision.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and can be configured with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The rear camera setup features a 50MP Sony IMX989 primary sensor with OIS and a 1-inch sensor size, along with a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50MP telephoto camera. Xiaomi 13 series was unveiled in China last year in November and the lineup has been on the shelves for quite some time now. Now, the company is ready to bring its latest number series, which includes the Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, and Xiaomi 13 Lite, to the global market on February 26. While we wait, the top-end model of the series has visited the Geekbench website, revealing some interesting details in the process.

Xiaomi 13 Pro has visited the Geekbench benchmarking site with model number 2210132G. The handset has been listed with an octa-core processor, codenamed “Kalama”. We already know it is Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The listing reveals the global version of Xiaomi 13 Pro will have 12GB of RAM and run Android 13 out of the box.

The handset has received a single-core score of 1481 and a multi-core score of 4676. While these scores may seem impressive, the Chinese variant of the device did better. For reference, Xiaomi 13 Pro released in China managed to get a score of 1504 in single-core and 5342 in multi-core tests. However, these may be early tests and the retail units could perform better.

To recall, the handset debuted in China with a 6.73-inch 2K OLED display that offers up to 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and 1900 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, paired with Adreno GPU.

For photography, the handset gets a Leica-tuned triple camera setup on the back. The primary sensor is 50MP. There’s also a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50MP telephoto sensor. For those unaware, the Chinese tech giant first unveiled the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro back in December 2022. However, the brand has yet to announce the launch of the device for the Indian market. But now, the company has revealed that its top end flagship model will be launched on 26th February 2023. Unfortunately, the company only revealed that launch date for the higher end Pro variant. So, it is still unclear if the base Xiaomi 13 will be making its way to region, especially considering the fact that the company skipped the base Xiaomi 12 model last year as well.

This announcement also confirms that the Xiaomi 13 Pro will finally be releasing in the global market. The Xiaomi 13 series global launch should be around the same time or follow soon after the India announcement. Xiaomi has officially announced that it is planning on bringing an update to the Xiaomi 13 lineup. This update will have its latest flagship series of smartphones receive an upgrade to the new Wi-Fi 7 connectivity standards. So here are all the details.

The Chinese tech giant stated that it will be rolling out a new update for to its high end smartphone models. For those unaware, the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro were launched back in December 2022 with support for only 802.11ax standard, which is the Wi-Fi 6E, despite the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 supporting the newer 802.11be Wi-Fi 7 standard. While this isn’t exactly a highlighting feature, other new gen phones like the Samsung Galaxy S23 series were launched with this technology.

Even the new OnePlus 11 features this technology. But fortunately for Xiaomi 13 owners, the brand has announced that it will be releasing an update that will enable the flagship models to support Wi-Fi 7 standards. As per the official announcement on Weibo, the Xiaomi 13 series as well as the Redmi K60 Pro will be capable of supporting the latest wireless connectivity standard. For those unaware, Wi-Fi 7 technology uses 320MHz channels that theoretically offers up to 2.4 times faster speeds its predecessor, the Wi-Fi 6.

Furthermore, the latest technology will also reduce latency to enable support for 4K and 8K video streaming. These benefits will also be reflected in AR/VR applications as well as reaching speeds of at least 30Gb/s or even 40Gb/s. Keep in mind that you need a compatible router to take advantage of this faster speeds.

In December 2022, Xiaomi unveiled Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro flagship phones in China. Both phones haven’t release in markets outs of China. Earlier this month, the company sent out the MWC 2023 media invite earlier this month. It appears that the company may use the platform to showcase the Xiaomi 13 series. Ahead of the expected global launch, the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro have received some important certifications.

The NBTC authority of Thailand has certified the Xiaomi 13 (model number 2211133G) and Xiaomi 13 Pro (2210132G), according to reliable tipster Mukul Sharma. At the same time, the Indian BIS regulatory body has also approved the Xiaomi 13 Pro.

To recall, Xiaomi did not release the vanilla Xiaomi 12 in India, but only the Pro model was made available. Hence, it appears that this time around too, the company may skip the Xiaomi 13 and only release its Pro version in the Indian market.

None of the certification listings has revealed signification information about the 13 and 13 Pro. However, the global editions are likely to pack the same specs as their Chinese variants. The vanilla model has a 6.36-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED panel, whereas the Pro model features a 6.73-inch QHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display with curved edges. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 4.0 storage power both phones.

The Xiaomi 13 has a 4,500mAh battery, while the Pro model has a 4,820mAh battery. Both phones support 67W and 120W wired charging, respectively. The Pro model also supports 50W wireless charging. Both devices run on Android 13 OS and MIUI 14.

The Xiaomi 13 series has a 32-megapixel front camera. On the back, the vanilla model features a 50-mgeapixel (main, with OIS) + 12-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 10-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera system, whereas the Xiaomi 13 Pro is fitted with a 50-megapixel (main, with OIS) + 50-mgeapixel (ultra-wide) + 50-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera unit.

Just a while back, the Xiaomi 13 series was officially announced in the Chinese market. However, the company might be planning on releasing these models for the global regions soon, along with the unveiling of its premium flagship model, the 13S Ultra as well.

Earlier today (10th January 2023), the Chinese tech giant announced that the Xiaomi 13 series, which includes the base and higher end Pro variant, will launch globally during the MWC 2023 event. For those unaware, MWC or Mobile World Congress is a major conference where various brands take the stage to announce their new products, mainly smartphones and related technologies. This The upcoming event will also be hosted in Barcelona.

The company recently shared a teaser image poster, in which revealed the brand revealed that it plans to announce new technologies during MWC 2023 Barcelona. However, Xiaomi didn’t clearly specify what these new technologies actually are. Although, it is also rumored that the company will be announcing its Ultra model as well during this event. For those unaware, the brand usually releases a new flagship phone later in the year following the release of its high end numbered series of smartphones.

Last year, it was the Xiaomi 12S Ultra that was unveiled after the 12 series release. So we can expect the 13S Ultra to launch as its successor. This model will likely feature a new Leica camera technology, which was the focus of the last gen phone. Finer details are still unclear, although, we can expect the device to feature 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rate display, Android 13 OS out of the box, possibly Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

OnePlus has a new flagship and Xiaomi does too. The OnePlus 11 went official a few days ago as the only variant of the 11th series: there won’t be any Pro variant, the company already confirmed. Meanwhile, a few days before, Xiaomi came up with the new Xiaomi 13 Series and this one includes a Pro variant: the Xiaomi 13 Pro. The OnePlus 11 replaces the 11 Pro, but is it at the same level as the most advanced Xiaomi flagship? A lot of people are asking this question and we decided to answer it. We believe there is no better way to give you an answer than publishing this comparison between the main specifications of the OnePlus 11 and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. Design

The most refined design here belongs to the Xiaomi 13 Pro, even though it is not the most original one. The phone is made with a ceramic back and an aluminum frame, very premium materials (but there are also color options with a silicone polymer back, cheaper). It has a curved display with a very high screen to body ratio (close to 90 percent) and it is waterproof with the IP68 certification. Last but not least, its display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The materials of the OnePlus 11 are less impressive: it comes with a glass back, but the design is more original thanks to the presence of a circular camera module. Unfortunately, it does not offer any IP certification or other certified protection against water and dust.

Display

The displays of these two phones are very close to each other in terms of quality and specifications. The Xiaomi 13 has a 6.73-inch panel with OLED technology able to show up to one billion colors with a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz thanks to LTPO technology, Dolby Vision support, HDR10+ certification, a peak brightness of 1,900 nits, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The OnePlus 11 has an AMOLED panel with a diagonal of 6.7 inches, a Quad HD+ resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision support, HDR10+ certification, a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, and an in-display fingerprint reader. The Xiaomi 13 Pro looks to have a slightly better panel.

Specs & Software

The hardware department of the OnePlus 11 is actually better than the one found on the Xiaomi 13 Pro. Both phones are fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform: the new flagship Qualcomm SoC. It is a chipset built with a 4 nm production process and sporting an octa-core architecture composed of a Cortex X3 CPU running at a max frequency of 3.2 GHz, two Cortex A715 CPUs, two Cortex A710 CPUs, three Cortex A510 CPUs, and an Adreno 740 GPU. The OnePlus 11 offers a higher amount of RAM: up to 16 GB, instead of just 12 GB. The internal storage of both phones goes up to 512 GB (UFS 4.0). The handsets run Android 13 out of the box, with highly customized user interfaces on top.

Camera

The best camera phone in this comparison is undoubtedly the Xiaomi 13 Pro. It has a triple rear camera with three 50 MP sensors including a main Sony IMX989 shooter with OIS, a telephoto lens with 3.2x optical zoom, and a 50 MP ultrawide camera, as well as a 32 MP selfie snapper. With the OnePlus 11, you get a triple rear camera including a 50 MP Sony IMX890 main sensor with OIS, a 32 MP portrait lens with 2x optical zoom, an ultrawide 48 MP camera, and a 16 MP selfie shooter.

Battery

The OnePlus 11 is equipped with a bigger battery: 5000 mAh instead of 4820 mAh. But the Xiaomi 13 Pro charges quicker thanks to 120W fast charging and, unlike its rival, it supports wireless charging.

Price

The OnePlus 11 had only managed to achieve a screen-on-time of 5 hours and 33 minutes in a recent product review of the device by a prominent technology enthusiast online. 

In his most recent video, titled “OnePlus 11 Review“, Chinese technology content creator, Xiaobai’s Tech Reviews collected all battery life data amongst all notable smartphones released in the past 5 months. In his findings, it was discovered that the OnePlus 11 had only managed to achieve a screen-on-time (SOT) of 5 hours and 33 minutes, the worst amongst all Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship devices released so far. 

The battery endurance test consisted of mixed smartphone usage on social media, video and music streaming, video recording, as well as heavy smartphone gaming with releases such as Genshin Impact, Honor of Kings, and Game For Peace (PUBG rebrand in China). Do note that the software applications tested here are meant for the Chinese market, global releases may have different software battery optimisations.

Despite sporting a rather large 5000mAh battery, the OnePlus 11 lasted shorter than the Redmi K60 Pro with the same-sized 5000 mAh cell, the Xiaomi 13 Pro with a 4820mAh cell and the Vivo X90 Pro+ with a 4700mAh cell. 

The reviewer noted that the main culprit behind the OnePlus 11’s rather mediocre battery life compared to its competition seems to be that the device is not properly battery-optimised for music streaming and social media browsing. The video highlighted that the OnePlus 11 had consumed up to 80% more battery than the Xiaomi 13 Pro on Chinese social media and microblogging site, Weibo.

The battery drain problem could be fixed in a future software update by OnePlus, but you should base your purchases on what the device offers now, not on hopes and promises. As for gaming, the device performed on par with the competition from Xiaomi and Vivo.

The reviewer also showed the battery endurance of all the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagships released in the market so far. Here is a short SOT ranking of the longest-lasting flagships that feature Qualcomm’s latest flagship SoC (from best to worst):

The OnePlus 11 is to make its global debut next month, on February 7th in India, so it is hoped that OnePlus can resolve the battery drain problem before its global release. Vivo X90 Pro vs Xiaomi 13 Pro

Design

The Xiaomi 13 Pro came to the market with an interesting new design. One of its color options is built with very premium materials, including a ceramic back and an aluminum frame. Further, this is the first flagship from the company with the IP68 certification: it is a waterproof and dustproof phone. It comes with a curved display at the sides, a high screen to body ratio, and a slightly more compact design compared to its rival. However, the Vivo X90 Pro remains a very beautiful phone. It is built with glass and aluminum, it has a curved screen and it is waterproof with the IP68 certification. Both phones feature an IR sensor allowing you to use them as a remote.

The display of the Xiaomi 13 Pro looks better than the one found on the Vivo X90 Pro. The Vivo X90 Pro sports an AMOLED display with a diagonal of 6.78 inches, an 1.5K resolution of 1260 x 2800 pixels, one billion colors, a 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification, and an in-display fingerprint reader. It is an inferior panel in terms of resolution, but you will hardly notice the difference: both are great displays.

Specs & Software

These two phones come with different processors, but they have similar performances because they are equipped with two processors at the same level. The Vivo X90 Pro has the Dimensity 9200 chipset built at 4 nm and sporting an octa-core architecture with a max frequency of 3.05 GHz. Alongside the chipset, there are up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 4.0 native storage. The operating system installed is Android 13, customized by Funtouch OS on the global market and Origin OS in China. With the Xiaomi 13 Pro, you get a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform built at 4 nm, with an octa-core architecture and a max frequency of 3.2 GHz, paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 4.0 of native storage. Android 13 is customized by MIUI 14.

Camera

The Xiaomi 13 Pro looks to have slightly better camera hardware. The most important difference is the ultrawide shooter: a 50 MP sensor, definitely better than the one found on the Vivo X90 Pro. Even the telephoto sensor looks better as it reaches 3.2x optical zoom instead of just 2x.

Battery

The biggest battery is the one found on the Vivo X90 Pro, but only by a slight margin: 4870 mAh instead of 4820 mAh. The charging speeds are more or less the same because both phones support 120W fast charging as well as 50W wireless charging.

The starting price of the Xiaomi 13 Pro in the Chinese market roughly translates to $900/€955, while the Vivo X90 Pro starts from $800/€849. However, you should consider that the base variant of the X90 Pro has an 8/256 GB memory configuration, while the Xiaomi 13 Pro has a base configuration with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage. Naturally, the operating systems are different: Android 13 (customized by MIUI 14) and iOS 16, respectively.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro is definitely one of the most impressive camera phones ever released and it looks more interesting than the iPhone 14 Pro. It has a triple rear camera co-engineered with Leica and includes a 50.3 MP main sensor with OIS,  a 50 MP telephoto camera with 3.2x optical zoom, and a 50 MP ultrawide sensor. The Xiaomi 13 Pro has a much bigger battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh, but the iPhone 14 Pro is able to guarantee a not so different battery life thanks to iOS optimization. However, the Xiaomi 13 Pro charges a lot quicker thanks to 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

Both Xiaomi 13 Pro and Google Pixel 7 Pro have an original design, but the latter is definitely more interesting. The Xiaomi 13 Pro has an OLED panel with a diagonal of 6.73 inches, one billion colors, LTPO technology enabling an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, Dolby Vision support, HDR10+ certification, and an in-display fingerprint reader. With the Google Pixel 7 Pro, you get an AMOLED display with a diagonal of 6.7 inches, a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3120 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate with the LTPO technology, HDR10+ certification, and an in-display fingerprint reader.

Specs & Software

The hardware setup of the Xiaomi 13 Pro is definitely better if compared to the Google Pixel 7 Pro. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform built with a 4 nm production process and sporting an octa-core architecture. It is composed of a Cortex X3 performance core running at 3.2 GHz, two Cortex A715 cores running at 2.8 GHz, two Cortex A710 cores running at 2.8 GHz, and three Cortex A510 cores running at 2 GHz. Alongside the chipset, there are up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of native storage. Unfortunately, the Google Pixel 7 Pro has an inferior chipset: we are talking about the Tensor G2, nothing more than a rebrand of the latest Exynos. The memory configuration is the same. Both phones ship with Android 13, but the Pixel will get more updates and for a longer time.

Camera

On the paper, the Xiaomi 13 Pro looks to have a superior camera department, with three 50 MP cameras co-engineered with Leica. But the Google Pixel 7 Pro is amazing too with its triple camera composed of a 50 MP main sensor, a 48 MP telephoto lens, and a 12 MP ultrawide shooter. Which one will shoot the best photos?

For now, it only includes two variants: the Xiaomi 13 and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. They are both flagship phones, even though there is only one Pro variant. But what changes between them? If you focus on each of their specifications, you will notice several differences, and we are here to list them. The designs of these two phones are not so different from each other, but there are two important differences that will change a lot of people’s choices.
