At Rs 3,999, the OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro sit in one of the most competitive segments in the TWS market right now. This is the price range where brands try to bring premium features like ANC, spatial audio, and multipoint connectivity to a wider audience. On paper, these earbuds tick most of the right boxes. I’ve been using the Raven Black variant for about a week, and the experience has been largely consistent, with a few expected compromises.

Design and comfort

The Nord Buds 4 Pro follow a clean and understated design language. The Raven Black finish keeps things minimal, which some may appreciate, though it doesn’t particularly stand out. The case has a slightly more structured, boxy shape compared to earlier Nord Buds. It’s still pocketable, but it can feel a bit noticeable if you’re carrying it alongside other items.

In everyday use, however, the design proves to be practical. The case feels solid, the hinge is reliable, and the matte texture resists fingerprints well. The earbuds themselves are lightweight and sit securely in the ears. I used them during work hours and short walks, and they stayed in place without needing adjustment.

Comfort is easily one of the better aspects here. With the right ear tips, I could wear them for extended periods without discomfort, which makes them suitable for long listening sessions.

Sound quality

The Nord Buds 4 Pro are tuned with a clear focus on a bass-forward sound. The 12mm drivers deliver a noticeable low-end punch, which works well for genres like electronic music and Bollywood tracks.

At the same time, the tuning leans towards a more relaxed listening experience. Vocals come through clearly enough for everyday use, and the overall presentation feels smooth rather than aggressive. This makes them easy to listen to over longer periods without fatigue.

While the sound is enjoyable, it feels more tuned for casual listening rather than critical listening. For most users streaming music or watching content, the performance remains perfectly adequate and consistent.

ANC and transparency mode

OnePlus claims up to 55dB of active noise cancellation, and in real-world use, the performance is decent for the segment. In quieter environments like home or office spaces, the ANC reduces background noise effectively, making it easier to focus on music or calls.

In busier surroundings such as traffic or crowded cafés, the earbuds still reduce a fair amount of ambient noise, though some external sounds can remain audible. It doesn’t completely block everything out, but it does enough to improve the overall listening experience.

Transparency mode is usable for staying aware of your surroundings, especially for quick conversations or while walking outdoors.

Call quality

Call quality is fairly reliable in indoor conditions. Voices come through clearly, and there’s no major distortion during regular calls.

Outdoors, performance can vary depending on the environment. While the microphones manage to keep your voice audible, background noise like wind or traffic can sometimes be noticeable to the listener on the other end. It works fine for casual calls, but may not always deliver the same consistency in challenging conditions.

Battery life

Battery life is dependable for daily use. With mixed usage and ANC toggled on and off, I was getting around six hours on a single charge. With the case, the earbuds easily lasted a few days before needing a recharge.

Fast charging is a useful addition. A short 10-minute charge provided enough playback for a couple of hours, which is convenient when you’re in a hurry. There’s no wireless charging, but that’s expected at this price.

Connectivity and features

Connectivity has been smooth and reliable throughout my usage. Pairing is quick, and the earbuds reconnect almost instantly when taken out of the case. Dual-device connectivity works well, allowing easy switching between devices without manual intervention.

Latency is noticeable in the standard mode, especially during gaming or fast-paced video content. However, enabling the low-latency mode improves synchronization significantly, making it much more usable for those scenarios.

The companion app offers a wide range of features, including ANC controls, EQ settings, touch customization, and more. On OnePlus devices, these controls are integrated into the system settings, which adds to the convenience.

Verdict

The OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Pro deliver a well-rounded experience for their price. They are comfortable, easy to use, and come with a feature set that covers most everyday needs, from ANC and multipoint connectivity to low-latency gaming mode.

At the same time, they don’t try to push boundaries in any one area. Instead, they focus on delivering a consistent and reliable experience across the board.

For Rs 3,999, these earbuds are best suited for casual listeners, commuters, and users looking for a dependable pair of TWS earbuds without overthinking the details. Personally, I found them to be a good everyday option—but not necessarily the most exciting one in this segment.

This is the Lenovo Legion Y700 Gen 5, which was officially unveiled at MWC 2026 earlier this month. At first glance, its specs don’t differ much from the previous Gen 4 model—the most noticeable upgrades are the new processor and a larger battery. However, the Chinese launch of the tablet comes with an all-new accessory – Y700 Arcade Dock, which can easily turn this compact tablet into a retro arcade machine. This Dock is exclusive to the Chinese version and unavailable globally. There are also limited-edition variants co-branded with The King of Fighters ’97 GM and Metal Slug 3. Currently, you can purchase the tablet and this accessory via GeekWills, and it is compatible with both the Y700 Gen 4 and Gen 5.

Design

In terms of design, the Y700 Gen 5 carries forward the classic styling of the Y700 series. It features a unibody aluminum alloy build, delivering a solid in-hand feel, and the back panel maintains its seamless integrity as always. For color options, besides the classic black and white, there are two new shades: purple and green. Judging from official renders, the green finish looks incredibly distinctive for a gaming tablet.

However, these two new colorways will hit the market at a later date. The newly added co-branded dock is currently only sold in China. What’s more, Lenovo does not pre-install any emulators or games on the tablet, so you will need extra setup and debugging to get it fully functional.The tablet is slightly thicker than its predecessor, with its weight increased to 360g. This makes the grip feel heavier and more substantial.

The rear fill light has also been redesigned from the previous linear strip to an RGB circular light, which can automatically turn on during gameplay.The external I/O ports and physical buttons remain unchanged from the last generation. The port next to the speaker only supports USB 2.0 and does not offer video output functionality. The other port supports a 10Gbps transfer speed, alongside DP video output that can handle up to 4K 144Hz. It also supports microSD card expansion for up to 2TB of extra storage.

The tablet retains the same 8.8-inch LCD screen with 408PPI, but its brightness and touch sampling rate have both been upgraded. If you’ve been following the Y700 tablet series, you’ve probably noticed that Lenovo has been continuously improving the touch experience across recent generations. This time, the touch sampling rate has been boosted to 480Hz. I can’t fully put into words how powerful this spec is, but I can tell you this: the Y700 Gen 5 is far more responsive to touch inputs.

Gaming Performance

The Y700 Gen 5 still boasts top-tier hardware specifications in the current market: a flagship processor, high-frequency memory, and high-speed storage are all included. Lenovo has even enhanced the cooling system further this time around. That brings me back to last year’s tests: the Y700 Gen 4 had powerful hardware too, and it performed well in various short-term performance benchmarks. But it suffered from unstable performance during long-term stress tests.

So, will the Gen 5 model repeat the same flaws?First off, in the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test, the Y700 Gen 5 achieved an average score of 6173 with a stability rate of 80.6%—a massive improvement over the Gen 4’s 67% stability score from last year. We also ran the lighter Wild Life Stress Test, and the stability result was nearly identical. During testing, the tablet’s peak power draw approached 20W at one point. After a 20-minute test run, the maximum body temperature reached 45°C, which is also lower than the Gen 4’s temperature performance.

Starting with Honkai: Star Rail, we ran map tests at the Golden Hour scene. The tablet delivered excellent performance, achieving near-perfect frame rates without any manual in-tablet settings adjustments. Its power consumption was also much better than the Gen 4. Over the entire test, it only consumed 5% battery, and its temperature performance was impressive too—peak temperature stayed under 41°C, with heat concentrated mostly around the logo. This ensures long-term gaming comfort.

In the more demanding Wuthering Waves, the tablet showed clear performance improvements as well. It can run at nearly full frame rates without any extra tweaks. Plus, its operating temperature during long gaming sessions is 6°C lower than the previous generation.

We also tested the newly released Arknights: Endfield, and the tablet performed flawlessly. It ran smoothly even during fast in-game movement, with no noticeable issues at all. As a dedicated gaming tablet, it can handle every game we threw at it without a hitch.

Battery Life & Charging

The battery is one of the biggest upgrades this time around, jumping from the Gen 4’s 29Wh to 34.7Wh—an increase of roughly 20%, which is definitely exciting news. However, the charging power has not been upgraded accordingly; the package still comes with the same 68W charger.

If you want faster charging speeds, I recommend placing the tablet in an air-conditioned room—just as we did with the Gen 4—as this can extend the duration of fast charging. The bypass charging function is still present and doesn’t have overly strict charger requirements; it only supports PD or PPS chargers. As for real-world battery life, we ran a continuous usage test: one hour of Honkai: Star Rail drained 20% of the battery, 30 minutes of Wuthering Waves drained 16%, and two hours of movie playback consumed 18%. After all that, the tablet still had 46% battery remaining.

Cons & Conclusion

To be honest, the performance of the Y700 Gen 5 took me by surprise. When I tested the Gen 4 last year, I acknowledged its solid performance but felt it fell short of being a “perfect gaming tablet”—issues like screen ghosting, thermal throttling during extended sessions, and mediocre battery life held it back. The Gen 5, however, has fixed nearly all of its predecessor’s flaws. You no longer have to worry about overheating or unresponsive touch controls. The only real concern is the price: it retails for up to €699 in Europe and starts at $849 in the US. If you’re a die-hard fan of small-screen gaming or have strict portable gaming needs, this is currently the best option on the market. RedMagic and Xiaomi are set to launch competing products soon, but I believe their biggest challenge will be the same as the Y700’s: pricing.

Amid much anticipation, the king of camera phones in 2025 was updated with the vivo X300 Ultra at the end of March 2026.

Among a crowd of Ultra models, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra by Leica features the best optical zoom lens in the world, and the stunning colors of the Leica Essential mode leave a deep impression. As for the OPPO Find X9 Ultra, although it hasn’t been released yet, the official has already revealed an exciting piece of information: it will come with a 200MP 3x telephoto, along with the world’s best 10x ultra-telephoto camera.

In contrast, the vivo X300 Ultra doesn’t seem to bring us many surprises, and there are even “downgrades” in its camera specifications. If last year’s X200 Ultra was one of my favorite phones, then this year’s X300 Ultra is probably no longer on that “favorites” list.

Camera

Looking purely at the raw capabilities of the camera system, the X300 Ultra remains one of the strongest contenders. However, when compared to its predecessor, it feels like vivo hasn’t fully pushed the envelope. Most of the upgrades are concentrated on the main camera, which now features a slightly larger sensor and higher pixel count. And It also follows the industry trend by incorporating a 5MP multispectral camera.

The ultra-wide camera remains largely unchanged, while the apertures on both the main and telephoto cameras have actually been reduced. For a device priced over $1,000, seeing such minimal hardware improvements is unlikely to sit well with most users. All that’s left is to hope the real-world camera performance delivers a pleasant surprise.

Teleconverter

That said, for those with ultra-long-distance photography needs, vivo remains a trusted choice. Its teleconverter kit was well-received last year, and the new iteration should be no exception. The new 200mm teleconverter is significantly more compact, and an additional 400mm lens is now available. If you’re determined to capture wildlife on the African savannah or shoot from the back of a concert hall using a smartphone, the X300 Ultra paired with the teleconverter kit might be your best option.

Unlike the hardware, the camera software sees no downgrades. The most notable addition is a new photo color tuning style—no need to guess where the inspiration comes from, right? There are also two new photography styles, said to be developed using vivo’s latest color science. We’ll dive into how effective these new features are in our full review.

Design

Aside from the camera, I also have some reservations about the design. The X300 Ultra is available in three colors. While the black version remains as satisfying as ever, the other two fall short of their counterparts on the X200 Ultra. The white model, in particular, feels a bit overdone—in my opinion, the snow mountain pattern is simply unnecessary. Then again, maybe I’m wrong—maybe it could end up being a favorite for some people.

After a year of trial and error, vivo has finally come to the conclusion that the camera control button was unnecessary—so it’s gone on the X300 Ultra. Personally, I wish they had added an AI button instead; having an extra customizable button is quite convenient for everyday use.

Other

Other changes aren’t very noticeable. For example, the body is slightly thinner, but the weight has increased a bit. Charging power has gone up slightly, and so has the battery capacity, both by around 10%. As for the processor, it’s definitely the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5.

The screen refresh rate has been upgraded to 144Hz, while the resolution remains at 2K (3168×1440), and the display finally uses flat glass. The bezels are very narrow and appear symmetrical on all four sides. There are also some upgrades that aren’t visible from the outside, including an improved vibration motor and top speaker.

During the initial hands-on, the X300 Ultra feels more like an X200s Ultra – far from what I would define as a true next-generation upgrade.

The good news is that we can still safely say it remains one of the most powerful camera phones on the market. If you really love a 35mm main camera, then the X300 Ultra is indeed a more reassuring choice than the Nubia Z80 Ultra. But beyond that, if you are holding an X200 Ultra, I don’t see enough must-buy reasons to upgrade. I would even recommend buying the X200 Ultra instead—it’s not that different from the X300 Ultra, but costs less. Meanwhile, I’m more looking forward to the OPPO Find X9 Ultra, which, based on the rumors we know so far, feels much closer to what the X300 Ultra should have been—the true king of camera phones. In any case, please wait and see whether our real-world tests and full review prove us completely wrong.

Thin-and-light laptops have always been my go-to for their portability and sleek aesthetics.

Over the past couple of weeks, I had the chance to test out the Asus Zenbook 14 (UM3406G), a machine that promises the best of modern design, AI-infused performance, and impressively long battery life.

While marketed as an ultraportable, it’s clear that Asus also wanted to make a device that stands out in terms of build, features, and utility. But does it deliver on all fronts? Let’s break it down.

Design and Build Quality

Straight out of the box, the Zenbook 14 makes an impression with its minimalist, all-aluminum alloy chassis. Asus has gone for a clean, professional aesthetic that blends seamlessly into both casual and office settings. The Jade Black finish steals the spotlight, subtle, sophisticated, and premium. However, it’s a fingerprint magnet, which detracts slightly from its otherwise polished look. You’re going to want to keep a microfiber cloth handy.

At 1.49 cm thin and weighing 1.28 kg, this laptop is designed for those on the move. It’s incredibly lightweight and slim, yet it doesn’t compromise structural integrity. The MIL-STD 810H certification for military-grade durability adds some peace of mind. I tossed it into my work bag every day and used it in various coffee shops without worrying about accidental bumps.

The hinge design allows the lid to open a full 180 degrees, making collaboration or angled viewing comfortable. However, the one downside in practical use is that you can’t open the lid with one hand, a very annoying hiccup in an otherwise thoughtful design.

Display

The display is easily one of the standout features of the Zenbook 14 for me. It comes with a 14-inch FHD+ Lumina OLED panel (1920×1200) surrounded by incredibly thin bezels and an aspect ratio of 16:10, giving it an impressive 87% screen-to-body ratio.

Even though the resolution might feel a little low compared to higher-res panels, the colors are absolutely stunning. They’re vivid and deeply saturated, covering 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut with a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Whether I was editing photos, watching HDR videos, or just scrolling through documents, the display felt immersive and incredibly true-to-life.

HDR content looks fantastic on this VESA-certified DisplayHDR True Black 500 panel. The 0.2ms response time makes motion smooth and fluid, which is perfect for watching videos or working on media-heavy tasks.

That said, there are a couple of downsides. The glossy screen, while gorgeous indoors, can be highly reflective in bright lighting. On top of that, the refresh rate is capped at 60Hz, which is fine for my general productivity tasks but might feel limiting for gamers or anyone used to 120Hz or higher.

On the positive side, my unit includes a touchscreen, and it works flawlessly. It also supports a stylus, which has made the laptop even more versatile for creative or note-taking tasks.

Ports and Connectivity

The laptop comes with a well-rounded selection of ports. You get one USB 4.0 Gen 3 Type-C port with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack.

The port selection is versatile enough to cover most of my needs, but I did notice that Asus placed all the USB-C ports on the right side of the laptop. For me, this design choice can make cable management a bit tricky when connecting multiple peripherals or an external monitor on my desk. I also found myself missing an SD card reader, which would have been helpful for transferring files from my camera or other recording devices.

Keyboard and Trackpad

I found the keyboard on the Zenbook 14 to be a joy to type on. The well-spaced keys, natural layout, and backlit made it easy to start typing right away without any awkward adjustments.

The 1.4mm key travel feels smooth and satisfying, while still being quiet enough for any setting. I also liked the smudge-resistant keycaps, which keep the keyboard looking clean and tidy even after extended use.

I found the trackpad to be smooth and accurate, with plenty of space for swipes and multitouch gestures. It also comes with an integrated numpad shortcut, which is a clever feature that worked really well.

Benchmarks

Here’s how the Zenbook 14 (UM3406G) performed in my benchmarking suite:

• PCMark 10: 6,985 overall – Smooth and consistent for everyday multitasking.
• Cinebench R23: 1,725 (single) / 6,944 (multi) – Solid single-core, capable multi-core performance for light creative tasks.
• Geekbench 6: 2,509 (single) / 7,716 (multi) – Efficient single-thread tasks and overall snappiness.
• Geekbench AI: 6,875 – Competent for handling on-device AI-related tasks like productivity features and video call enhancements.
• 3DMark Time Spy: 1,650 overall – Decent for casual gaming and minimal 3D workloads.
• CrystalDiskMark: 6,978 MB/s read / 6,130 MB/s write – Ensures fast boot times, large file handling, and responsive app performance.

These results position the Zenbook 14 as an ultraportable designed for everyday productivity and portability, rather than a powerhouse for intensive workloads or gaming. It performs reliably for general tasks, but if you are seeking high-range performance for creative applications or gaming should look elsewhere. It’s best suited for professionals, students, and casual users.

AI and Performance

The Zenbook 14 (UM3406G) uses the Ryzen AI 5 430 processor, and I’ve found it great for enhancing everyday productivity with its AI-powered features. Windows Copilot works seamlessly with 50 TOPS, offering tools like background blurring for video calls, real-time translation, local AI-based summarization, and even basic image editing.

These features have been super convenient and made my workflow feel more efficient. Office apps also run incredibly smoothly, handling everything from heavy Excel sheets to PowerPoint presentations without any issues.

In my testing, the laptop handled over 30 Chrome tabs without breaking a sweat, but pushing beyond that introduced noticeable slowdowns, especially when multitasking with other programs.

For day-to-day tasks like web browsing, casual Photoshop sessions, light editing tasks, writing documents, and working with office apps, it runs perfectly as long as I keep the workload moderate.

Gaming

The laptop offers entry-level gaming performance with its integrated Radeon 840M GPU, which I found good enough for casual gaming. In esports titles like Valorant, it performs really well, delivering a smooth 170-230 FPS. The GPU runs at around 85-90% usage and consumes about 28W of power, which provides a stable and competitive experience.

For slightly more demanding games like Genshin Impact, the laptop manages 49-57 FPS on medium settings. The GPU is fully utilized at 97-99%, drawing about 20W of power. It’s definitely playable, but there are occasional dips during more intense moments.

When I tested PUBG on its lowest settings, the laptop averaged around 32 FPS, with the GPU maxed out at 98%. It’s clear that it struggles with modern AAA or resource-heavy titles.

While the Zenbook 14 isn’t a gaming laptop, it handles light gaming and older esports titles quite well. It’s great if you’re looking to game casually or play less demanding titles, but it’s not suited for intense DX12 workloads or modern AAA games on higher settings. For me, it works perfectly as a secondary device for light gaming when I’m not looking for peak performance.

Thermal and Fan Performance

Thermals were remarkably well-managed, thanks to the single-heatpipe cooling system. Even under sustained workloads, the device remained cool to the touch, with the fan ramping up only during heavy tasks. For everyday usage, this is one of the quietest laptops I’ve tested.

Battery Life, Sound, and Camera

The Zenbook’s 75Wh battery is solid. I got over 10 hours of use with tasks like browsing, writing, using Office apps, and streaming. For heavier workloads, like multitasking with demanding apps, it lasted around 7-8 hours, which was enough to get me through the day without charging. The 65W fast charging is handy, it took around 50 minutes to go from 0 to 60%.

The speakers, however, were a bit disappointing. They’re bottom-firing and don’t have much bass. They’re okay for casual media and calls but don’t stand out if you’re hoping for great sound quality.

The 1080p webcam works fine for video calls. The quality is decent, and features like AI background blur and low-light adjustments help. It’s not amazing, but I didn’t have any complaints using it for meetings.

Verdict

The Asus Zenbook 14 (UM3406G) gets a lot of things right.

It combines a premium design, a fantastic OLED display, excellent battery life, and strong everyday performance into a lightweight package that’s easy to live with. The Ryzen AI 5 430 may not be the most powerful chip in its class, but it focuses on efficiency, and that’s exactly what this category needs.

There are compromises. The 60Hz display feels limiting, the reflective panel can be annoying, and the speakers could have been better. Port placement also feels slightly inconvenient.

But none of these break the experience.

After using it for over two weeks, this feels like a laptop designed for real life not benchmarks. It’s reliable, consistent, and comfortable to use daily.

If you’re looking for a Windows ultrabook that prioritizes battery life, portability, and a great display over raw power, this is an easy recommendation.

The Wobble K-series 65-inch TV is aimed at users who want a large 4K display without spending heavily. Instead of focusing on premium specifications, it delivers a balanced experience for daily viewing. After spending time with it, the TV feels designed for users upgrading from smaller screens to a more immersive setup at a reasonable price.

Design and build quality

The TV features a clean and minimal design with slim bezels that help create an immersive viewing experience. From a normal viewing distance, it looks modern and fits well into most living room setups. Up close, the plastic build is noticeable, which is expected in this segment.

The bundled table stands hold the TV in place, but stability is not the strongest aspect. A slight push can cause some wobble, especially given the large screen size. Wall mounting feels like the better option for long-term use, although the included mount is fairly basic and does not offer movement or flexibility.

Display performance

The 65-inch LED panel supports 4K resolution along with Dolby Vision and HDR10. For regular viewing, the panel produces bright and lively colours that work well for streaming content, TV shows, and sports.

The TV offers multiple picture modes, including Standard, Dynamic, Cinema, Low Blue, Film Maker, Eco, Game, and User. These modes allow you to adjust the viewing experience based on the content type. Cinema mode delivers more balanced colours, while Dynamic and Vivid-style settings push brightness and saturation.

For Dolby Vision content, you get dedicated modes such as Dolby Vision Bright, Dolby Vision Dark, Dolby Vision Vivid, and Dolby Vision Game. Dolby Vision Bright works best for most scenarios, while Dark mode tends to crush shadow details and Vivid can appear overly saturated.

Black levels are average, which is expected from a standard LED panel without local dimming. In darker scenes, blacks appear slightly grey, which becomes noticeable in low-light conditions. However, for viewing in a well-lit room, this is not a major issue.

Motion handling is decent for casual use, and enabling MEMC at a higher setting helps reduce blur during fast scenes such as sports.

Performance and software

The TV runs on Google TV, offering a clean and user-friendly interface with access to all major streaming apps. Content discovery works well, making it easier to find shows and movies across platforms.

Performance is mostly smooth, but there are occasional delays when switching apps or navigating menus. These slowdowns are minor but noticeable at times.

Google Assistant support works reliably and adds convenience for searching content and controlling the TV using voice commands.

Remote control

The remote is one of the standout aspects of this TV and feels well thought out for everyday use. It connects via Bluetooth and is comfortable to hold, with a layout that makes navigation easy.

For those who are already using foldable phones, most people probably don’t care much about how deep the crease is. Your fingers almost never swipe across that area, and when you’re looking straight at the screen, you can’t really see any impact from the crease on display quality. If the crease truly affected the daily experience, then Samsung wouldn’t be the best-selling foldable phone brand on the earth. However, the OPPO Find N6 with the best crease-control ever is still breathtaking at first glance.

As no model had ever reached this level before, eliminating the crease is definitely significant: it doesn’t affect your experience after purchase, but it does affect your decision before buying. Many potential users, when they see that deep crease, genuinely believe it will constantly interfere with their vision—even if it won’t. When no one can see the crease anymore, and it looks like a tablet and feels like one in use, more people will want to give it a try. This is the killer feature of the Find N6: attracting more new customers with a crease-free display.

This time, the internationalization of the Find N6 has been done very well. The Chinese version and the global version are identical in most specifications, including battery capacity. I’ve listed all the differences between them. Aside from the eSIM, the Chinese version actually has strong advantages.

You may not know this, but the cost of 16GB RAM plus 1TB ROM alone already exceeds that of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5. So the 1TB version is the most cost-effective choice for now.

Display & Hinge

How flat the inner screen of the Find N6 is has already been proven countless times by other reviewers. But what they didn’t tell you is whether long-term use will make the crease more noticeable. Unfortunately, the answer is yes (a slightly yes). Every second you keep the phone folded will make the crease slightly deeper. It doesn’t take long—after just one night’s sleep, you can already notice the crease becoming more pronounced.

The good news is that the new UTG glass has a self-healing feature. As long as you keep it unfolded and use it for a while, it will become flatter again (impressive!). I left two Find N6 units folded and unfolded, respectively for 48 hours, and you should be able to see the impact of time on them. As a reference, I also left another foldable phone unfolded for 4 days, and you can clearly see the effort OPPO has made regarding the crease. So if you can use it unfolded, just keep it unfolded. This can extend the lifespan of a foldable phone.

I haven’t used it for very long, and compared to when I first got it a week ago, the crease hasn’t changed noticeably. However, I still don’t believe it will remain crease-free after one or two years. But one thing I do believe: when it comes to crease control, no other foldable phone does it better.

The new hinge design not only helps reduce the crease but also improves the tactile experience. The hinge on the Find N6 is the tightest I’ve ever used—you need to apply some force to open or close it. Solid, no wobbling, and no noise. The minimum opening angle is even less than ten degrees. While that may not be particularly useful, it’s these small details that make every dollar you spend on this phone feel worthwhile.

Stylus

The dedicated stylus bundle for the Find N6 has also attracted a lot of attention. The stylus itself is very ordinary, almost the same as the one on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. The difference is that it still has a built-in battery and supports Bluetooth connectivity. Unfortunately, once you put on this phone case, you won’t be able to use wireless charging.

If there’s anything special about this stylus, it would be all the AI-related features. For example, if you want to convert a hand-drawn table or line chart into a digital version, just hold down the AI button on the stylus and circle the area you want to generate. Although there are usage limits, it’s undeniably an attractive selling point for office workers. Also, thanks to the flat screen, using the stylus doesn’t feel like driving over speed bumps.

For a stylus designed for a foldable phone, it has already reached a top-tier level in both portability and functionality.

Performance & Battery Life

As mentioned in the hands-on video, just like the N5, the Find N6 has one performance core of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 disabled. As you might expect, its gaming performance is extremely bad. Genshin Impact is no longer a challenge for modern flagship phones, but for the Find N6, it’s a big problem. The frame rate hovers around 45.

Of course, this isn’t entirely the processor’s fault, since the inner display’s gaming resolution is twice that of a regular phone. The weak cooling system and conservative performance tuning also share the blame.

If this were a regular phone, I would probably start complaining. But this is a foldable phone, and its target users likely don’t care about gaming performance at all. In fact, if you don’t play games, this cut-down 8 Elite Gen5 can actually save you quite a bit of battery. A 6000 mAh battery may not sound impressive, but in real-world use, it easily lasts a full day—and I mean whole 24 hours.

I didn’t use it heavily, just like most people on a typical day out: navigation, scrolling TikTok, chatting on messaging apps, then getting some sleep. After waking up, there was still 45% battery left, equivalent to about 5 and a half hours of Genshin Impact. By the time you brush your teeth and take a shower, the 80W wired charging can almost fully recharge the Find N6. Trust me, 6000 mAh only sounds underwhelming—it performs much better than you’d expect.

Camera

All four cameras on the Find N6 are familiar faces. Not the best, but reliable.

They can deliver satisfying photos in almost any environment. The ultra-wide camera, in particular, has improved significantly, upgrading from 8MP to 50MP. Anyone familiar with OPPO phones knows their biggest strengths in photography are high dynamic range and high saturation. That makes the Find N6 especially suitable for everyday shots like food photography. Of course, the two secondary cameras don’t have large sensors, so in low-light conditions, you shouldn’t expect outstanding image quality.

As for video recording, the evaluation is roughly the same as for photos: stable footage, vibrant colors, and good quality as long as there’s enough light. The two front-facing cameras have been upgraded to 20MP. Perhaps the image quality has improved, but come on, you’re using a foldable phone—unfolding it then using the rear cameras is definitely the smarter choice.

System

For the Find N6, ColorOS 16 introduces new exclusive gesture controls. By swiping from the corner toward the center of the screen, you can turn apps into windows of various sizes. When minimized, they automatically arrange themselves in the top-right corner, and you can double-tap to switch between them. If you want split-screen mode, just use a four-finger pinch gesture to switch between windowed and split-screen modes. This familiar gesture system was clearly inspired by someone, but it’s undeniably a unique interaction method among foldable phones.

Another thing that impressed me is how much OPPO wants iPhone users to switch. When I connected my AirPods to the Find N6, I realized I could fully control my earbuds using an Android phone—features like noise control, spatial audio, and even accessing earbuds settings directly from the control center. Although this has been possible since last year, it still blows my mind every time I see it.

Conclusion

Due to the recent shortage of DRAM and NAND supply, price increases for smartphones in 2026 are inevitable. Indeed, the Find N6 has become more expensive, but it’s still within an acceptable range. I’m glad it hasn’t downgraded anything and has achieved the best crease control in Foldable history. Gizmochina Review has been asked time and time again which foldable phone is the best. Well personally, before Apple releases its foldable, the answer is likely to be “Find N6”. Furthermore, based on my experience and taking factors such as price into account, I believe it will be difficult to revise this answer in the first half of 2026.

The watch supports dual-band all-satellite positioning, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS—ensuring coverage by the strongest available signal regardless of the user’s location. To ensure this powerful positioning system operates reliably and efficiently, the watch incorporates a new frame design. A sandwich structure is employed, wherein the metal mid-frame transfers energy to the top floating titanium bezel via the dielectric bezel, generating circularly polarized signals that align effectively with satellite signals.

The recorded route consistently demonstrated excellent consistency lap after lap. Distance accuracy was also tested at another sports park with a 3-kilometer track by a mountain. After completing one lap and walking for a few extra seconds at the end, the watch recorded a distance of 3.01 kilometers—the most accurate reading recorded to date. For nearly all runners, accurate route tracking facilitates better monitoring of pace, stride, and other important metrics during training.

This raises an interesting question: Why is HONOR doubling down on the foldable market with such aggressive timing? Today, we’re diving deep to see what this device is truly capable of.

Design

From a design perspective, the Magic V6 doesn’t reinvent the wheel. It confidently refines the brand’s signature, unified design language with targeted upgrades. Our review unit features a sophisticated Champagne Gold finish—a subtle blend of gold and light brown that exudes understated elegance. It’s a color that prioritizes premium tactility over flashy, limited-edition hues, and personally, I find it far more appealing.

We measured the chassis thickness at precisely 9.6mm. While it’s marginally thicker than its predecessor, the Magic V5, the ergonomic, rounded frame makes this difference virtually imperceptible in daily use. Holding it feels remarkably close to a traditional slab flagship, shedding the bulk and heft typically associated with foldables. This is a significant achievement.

The rear camera module retains the iconic “Octagonal Star Track” design language first seen on the Magic V5. This year, the metal decorative ring has been slimmed down, creating a smoother, more seamless transition between the module and the back cover. Whether it’s an unexpected splash or use in light rain, the Magic V6 offers enhanced durability and peace of mind.

Display

Both the internal and external displays on the Magic V6 boast top-tier flagship specifications. The main foldable screen is a expansive panel with a 2352×2172 resolution, constructed from UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass). It features a 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, intelligently adjusting to the on-screen content. It scales down for static documents to conserve battery and ramps up to a buttery-smooth 120Hz for videos and gaming, striking an excellent balance between visual fluidity and power efficiency.

Regarding the crease—a primary concern for any foldable—the Magic V6 has genuinely exceeded my expectations. After a week of intensive use, and comparing it to our unboxing footage, the crease remains remarkably shallow, even when viewed under harsh, angled light. During normal, head-on use, it’s virtually invisible. This durability is noticeably superior to other mainstream foldables after a similar period of use.

HONOR continues to lead in eye comfort technology. Both displays support ultra-high frequency PWM dimming. In extremely low-light conditions, it automatically switches to a high-frequency dimming mode, effectively reducing eye strain caused by screen flicker. For users sensitive to PWM, the Magic V6’s display offers a significantly more comfortable viewing experience.

Camera System

The most surprising upgrade on the Magic V6 is arguably its camera system, which completely shatters the notion that foldable phones require compromise in photography.

Leading the charge is a powerful 200MP main sensor. Its exceptional resolving power captures an incredible amount of detail. Even after significant cropping during post-processing, images remain sharp and crisp. In low-light scenarios, the large sensor’s light-gathering prowess is fully utilized, enhanced by OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). The resulting night shots are clean, bright, and remarkably free of visible noise.

In my view, the HONOR Magic V6 stands out as a foldable flagship with virtually no weaknesses. It is arguably one of the most compelling foldable devices on the market in early 2026. While its surprise early launch caught some off guard and the body is marginally thicker than its predecessor, the overall package is incredibly solid and refined.

With competitors like OPPO and Samsung set to launch their own new foldables, the current leaks and rumors suggest they will have a tough time beating this “all-rounder” device. The Magic V6’s greatest strength is its uncompromised, holistic user experience. The final, and perhaps only, variable left is the pricing strategy. Based on HONOR’s track record, they are unlikely to disappoint.

Design

Although both phones belong to the same series, they look quite different—and that’s perfectly reasonable given their different use cases. To accommodate the 1,200-lumen camping light on the back of the Fire 7 Pro, the DOOGEE logo has been moved to the very bottom of the rear panel.

By the way, while this camping light may look a bit like MagSafe, it is simply a standalone light with no magnets inside.

The back of the Fire 7 Ultra, on the other hand, is much cleaner, featuring only two contact pins near the bottom. What are these contacts for? That brings us to the packaging.

The Fire 7 Ultra comes in a much larger box, mainly because it includes more accessories. In addition to the usual manuals, charger, and cable, you also get a desktop charging base and a walkie-talkie headset. See those two contacts on the charging base? Through them, the Fire 7 Ultra can be charged at 10W.

The “Ultra” branding also extends to the speaker. This 3.5W speaker can reach a maximum volume of up to 125dB, making it easy to hear the other party clearly in virtually any environment.

The Ultra also has an extra button on the top that the Pro doesn’t. As its name suggests, pressing it activates SOS mode. You don’t have to worry about accidental presses—unless you really dig into it with your finger, you won’t be able to trigger it, no matter how hard you press it.

Aside from that, the remaining features are the same on both phones: triple card slots, NFC, an IP69K waterproof rating, and 8GB of RAM paired with 256GB of storage.

Walkie-Talkie

The PoC (Push-to-Talk over Cellular) walkie-talkie function is one of the Fire 7 series’ core features—and also one of its most controversial. When people hear “walkie-talkie,” their first reaction is often: outdoor signal coverage is poor, so why not just use a traditional radio? The answer is that these phones are not meant to replace your traditional walkie-talkies, but to serve as a backup solution that ensures you’re never completely out of contact.

The biggest advantage of Push-to-Talk over Cellular isn’t whether it works in places with absolutely no signal, but rather its communication range and management capabilities. With 4G or 5G network coverage, the walkie-talkie range of the Fire 7 series is essentially equal to the coverage of the cellular network itself. You can be on one side of a city and talk in real time with teammates dozens of kilometers away—or even in a different city altogether—something traditional walkie-talkies simply can’t achieve.

The Fire 7 Ultra is clearly the more professional tool when it comes to walkie-talkie performance. The included walkie-talkie headset connects via the contact pins on the side of the phone. Even in extreme environments such as heavy wind, engine noise, or fire scenes, it can still ensure clear and intelligible communication.

Battery Life

For rugged phones, battery life is always a key topic. In this regard, the Fire 7 Pro and Fire 7 Ultra continue DOOGEE’s long-standing “stack-the-specs” approach. Both phones are equipped with massive 13,000mAh batteries, enough to support multiple days of intensive outdoor use. If left on standby, they can last up to a month.

Both devices support 33W wired charging and 5W reverse charging. There is one area that could be improved: since the battery capacity is already larger than my power bank, it would be great if the reverse charging power were higher. That way, I could genuinely stop carrying an extra power bank to charge my other devices.

Other Features

In terms of core hardware, neither the Fire 7 Pro nor the Fire 7 Ultra aims for flagship-level performance. Instead, they opt for the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 platform, which prioritizes stability and power efficiency. This chipset is more than capable of handling navigation, PoC communication, multitasking, and everyday apps, while also helping to control heat and battery consumption.

Both phones feature a 6.6-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate.

When it comes to cameras, both rely on a 64MP main sensor. The Fire 7 Pro stands out by adding a 20MP night vision camera, which is especially useful for camping or nighttime environments.

The Fire 7 Ultra, by comparison, focuses more on basic documentation and work-related evidence capture. Overall, this setup may not be flashy, but it’s stable, durable, and well aligned with the Fire series’ positioning as a tool-oriented phone.

Conclusion

The Fire 7 Pro and Fire 7 Ultra are not phones that try to please everyone. Their target users are clearly defined, and their roles are well differentiated. If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, a camping fan, or someone into hiking or light exploration, and you want a phone that can handle lighting, night photography, and quick team communication, the Fire 7 Pro offers a very appealing combination of features.

The earbuds themselves have undergone the most noticeable changes. The battery section is made with a combination of glass and metal materials, and the HUAWEI SOUND logo highlights the flagship status of these earbuds. Each FreeBuds Pro 5 earbud weighs only 5.5 grams, which is 0.3 grams lighter than the previous generation, and the overall size has also been reduced by 10%. I once wore them from nine to six during a full workday without taking them off, and I did not experience any discomfort. They truly manage to be both stylish and comfortable.

This chip includes two professional audio DACs. The audio source is split by the DSPs, and each DAC independently drives the low-frequency and high-frequency drivers. This results in a 200% improvement in digital cross-over precision and a 50% reduction in DAC noise.

The FreeBuds Pro 5 sounds fuller and more engaging than most rivals. HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 5 is the first-ever dual-driver ANC earbud that uses both an ultra-linear dual-magnet driver and an ultra-thin micro planar diaphragm driver to emit inverted-phase sound waves that counteract external environmental noise. Both acoustic units work together to generate counter-noise, while a new MIMO AI sensing model actively detects the surrounding environment and adjusts parameters in real time—improving overall noise reduction performance to 220% compared with Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4.

Even if you are using an older HUAWEI device, such as the Pura 70 Pro, the transmission speed can still reach 1.5 Mbps.

Some additional features, such as voice message announcements and certain health-related options, are also exclusive to HUAWEI phone users.

Battery Life

Officially, HUAWEI claims that FreeBuds Pro 5 can last up to 9 hours with ANC turned off, and around 6 hours with ANC turned on. In practical terms, that means charging the earbuds once during lunch is enough to keep them running throughout the rest of your workday.

During my usage, I never actually managed to drain the battery completely. In-ear earbuds usually need to be taken off occasionally to let your ears rest anyway. In short, battery life is definitely not a weak point of the FreeBuds Pro 5.

Conclusion

The HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 5 delivers exceptional performance across nearly every metric. Frankly, with the series now in its fifth generation, it’s genuinely difficult to identify any glaring weaknesses. If the price gives you pause, consider this: the AirPods Pro, which falls a bit short on sound quality, commands an even higher premium. The Vivobook S14 might not be the flashiest device in the room, but it blends in well. In terms of raw performance, the laptop never felt limited during everyday workloads. It handled heavy Chrome sessions, 1080p video editing, large WordPress dashboards, and even moderate gaming with ease.

Gaming

No, this isn’t a gaming laptop. But the Radeon 860M GPU with RDNA 3.5 architecture is surprisingly capable for an integrated chip. I tested a few titles:

• Valorant: 170-230 fps (Low settings, 1080p)
• Genshin Impact: 60 fps (Low), 20-25 fps (High)
• PUBG: ~50 fps (Lowest settings)

These aren’t groundbreaking numbers, but for an ultrabook? Very respectable. If you’re into casual gaming, this can hold its own.

Thermal and Fan Performance

Asus has done an excellent job with thermal management on this laptop. Even during benchmarks or light gaming, the fans never became noticeably loud. Most of the time, they stayed silent, especially when running in Standard or Whisper mode. When pushed in Performance mode, fan noise hovered around 38 dB, producing a low whoosh rather than a distracting sound.

Temperatures remained in the 75s °C range under load, with very little heat buildup across the chassis. After a Valorant session, the keyboard area felt only slightly warm, and the palm rest stayed cool. This efficiency comes from the dual fan cooling system that Asus adapted from its higher wattage designs, which provides more cooling headroom than the chip actually requires.

Battery Life, Sound, and Camera

Asus claims up to 23 hours of battery life, and while I did not reach that exact figure, I consistently achieved around 10 to 12 hours in real-world use. For my workflow of writing, browsing, streaming music, and light photo editing, I only needed to charge it every other day. When recharging was necessary, the 65W USB-C fast charging brought the battery back to 50% in under 40 minutes.

Audio performance is solid for a thin and light laptop. The stereo speakers deliver clear sound at high volume levels without noticeable distortion. Bass is limited, as expected, but the output remains crisp enough for calls, videos, and casual music playback. Asus’s Audio Booster tuning adds a bit of warmth and depth. For critical listening, headphones are still preferable, but the built-in speakers perform well for everyday use.

The 1080p webcam also performs well. It supports Windows Hello facial recognition through an IR sensor, enabling quick and reliable logins. Video quality is good enough under good lighting conditions, and the built-in microphone array captures voices clearly for online meetings. It may not rival dedicated webcams in sharpness, but with AI background blur and enhancements, it handles video calls effectively and without any issues.

Storage and Upgradability

The Vivobook S14 delivers impressive storage performance with its PCIe Gen 4 SSD. The review unit I tested featured a 512GB NVMe PCIe 4.0 drive, while Asus also offers a 1TB option depending on the configuration. Sequential read speeds exceeded 6,700 MB/s, and write speeds reached around 3,600 MB/s in testing. These results translate into fast app launches, smooth multitasking, and quick file access.

For memory, the laptop comes with 16GB of DDR5 RAM onboard, which is fast and efficient for daily productivity and creative workloads. Unlike many ultrabooks, Asus includes a DDR5 SO-DIMM slot for future upgrades, allowing users to expand memory beyond 16 GB if required.

The storage is also user accessible via a standard M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0×4 slot, making it possible to replace or expand the SSD later. This mix of soldered and upgradable components gives the Vivobook S14 more flexibility than most thin and light laptops in its class.

Verdict

After spending more than two weeks with the Asus Vivobook S14 (M3407), it is clear that this is one of the most balanced ultrabooks in its category. It does not aim to be a creator’s workstation or a gaming powerhouse, but it delivers strongly on the essentials: productivity, portability, battery life, and AI readiness.

The combination of Ryzen AI 7 350 processor and its integrated NPU makes it future-ready for AI-assisted tasks, while the OLED display and comfortable keyboard make daily use enjoyable and efficient.

It starts at Rs. 78,990 for this variant in India, and for students, bloggers, professionals, and anyone who values responsiveness, battery endurance, and a great screen over high-end graphics performance, this laptop is a strong fit.

The comments on the HONOR Magic8 Pro Air unboxing videos are full of praise for this phone, and I’m not at all surprised. It really is that good. Weighing just 155 g and boasting a 6.3-inch display, it’s even lighter than the so-called ‘Air’ phones on the market. It takes us back to the days when mobile phones were compact and easy to hold. If you’re tired of phones getting bigger and heavier every year, you’ll understand exactly why this device exists.

Design

For how thin and light it is, the Magic8 Pro Air doesn’t skimp on essential features at all. It has an IR blaster, NFC, stereo dual speakers, wireless charging, and even a physical SIM slot. Other than the USB 2.0 port, there’s barely a flaw to find. The triple-camera setup shifts its center of gravity slightly upward, but its ultra-light, compact build means you never feel that top-heavy awkwardness in your hand.

Honestly, I’ve never liked the feel of the iPhone Air. It’s way too thin—holding it feels like holding a piece of corrugated paper. The slightly thicker Magic8 Pro Air, on the other hand, delivers a far better hold. I know that might sound like an excuse, but it’s how I truly feel. And I’m a total fan of small phones—the Magic8 Pro Air is the tiniest among all Air phones. So yeah, HONOR built my dream phone.

Now, everyone has their own preferences. The iPhone Air is still the thinnest Air phone around, and it looks better too. But one thing’s undeniable: the Magic8 Pro Air blows the iPhone Air out of the water in specs. The most obvious win? It’s triple cameras.

Cameras

Of the Magic8 Pro Air’s three cameras, the ultra-wide is the weak link—everything else is flagship-grade.

The 3.2x telephoto lens is perfect for daily use, with a focal length that’s just right, not too long, not too short. Image quality is solid too; it’s barely different from the main cam in most cases. You just need a steady hand, though—any shake and the shot gets blurry fast. Even at 6.4x zoom, it still performs surprisingly well, and I’m really happy with that.

The main camera is flawless, right up there with other flagship phones. Colors are vibrant, and the bokeh effect is stunning. Since the telephoto lacks a macro mode and has a minimum focusing distance of nearly 50cm, the main cam takes on macro shooting duties. The ultra-wide can do macro, too, but neither camera delivers satisfying macro shots.

The ultra-wide is easily one of the phone’s biggest letdowns. It’s better than the 8MP ultra-wides on budget phones—50MP clearly boosts sharpness, and daytime shots look totally fine. But as soon as the light dims, image quality drops off a cliff around the edges. Video on the ultra-wide isn’t the best either; there’s a lot of frame tearing. Switch to the main cam, though, and all those issues disappear.

For a 155g phone, this camera performance is seriously impressive. A great main cam, a solid telephoto, a decent ultra-wide in daylight—it’s easily the best triple-camera Air phone you can get.

The camera’s quick-launch button? It’s not great. Just like the iPhone’s, it’s a struggle to switch to your desired focal length with it. And since it’s a capacitive touch button, not a physical one, the tactile feel is off. As an AI button, though, it’s pretty good. It basically does what Apple Intelligence promised in its launch ads—hold up the phone, and it tells you what you’re looking at. The only downside is the lack of customizability; most of the time, I forget it’s even there.

Performance

The Dimensity 9500 is one of the most powerful mobile chips currently available, so HONOR made the perfect call by putting it in the Magic8 Pro Air. I even think there’s a reason HONOR went with a MediaTek chip—they’ve clearly found a secret optimization formula. Its performance in Honkai: Star Rail is insane, with perfect power efficiency and frame rates that are almost scary good. We checked, no funny business here—its resolution is the same as other phones, over 900P.

We can’t guarantee it won’t throttle when it gets hot in summer, but I can say its gaming experience in winter beats a lot of flagships. No AI frame interpolation or AI super resolution, but this thing is basically a gaming phone in a compact body.

Display & Battery

The display tuning works perfectly with battery life. Daily streaming and scrolling look sharp and natural, and the screen’s power draw is super well-controlled—no excessive battery drain for the sake of better visuals. It strikes the perfect balance between experience and efficiency.

This screen handles gaming and media with ease, and it lays a great foundation for the phone’s battery life. Pair that with a large-capacity battery, and whether you’re a heavy gamer or a light daily user, you get all the battery life you need. A full day of normal use means no need to top up the battery constantly. Our real-world tests back this up: 15 minutes of Honkai: Star Rail uses just 6% battery, 20 minutes of high-load Genshin Impact only 5%. Even heavy gaming doesn’t eat through the battery fast, and light daily use keeps power drain super low.

Verdict

How many of you love the iPhone Air for its lightness and thinness, but hate the compromises—single speaker, no physical SIM, only one camera, and short battery life? Well, HONOR has the solution.

I’ll admit, the Magic8 Pro Air is an incredibly appealing phone. It’s cheaper than the iPhone Air in China, but it’s still a lot more expensive than I thought it would be. If it gets a $100 price drop down the line, this will be the perfect phone in the world—no exceptions.

The purifier itself is lightweight and easy to carry around, which matters more than you’d think. If you want to move it between the bedroom during the night and the living room during the day. This portability makes it especially appealing for smaller homes or apartments where one purifier often has to cover multiple rooms. It features a rather minimalistic design that is clearly not aiming to be a luxury appliance. But it doesn’t look out of place in a modern home.

Does It Actually Clean the Air?

In daily use, Qubo Q400 gets the job done. It detects pollution spikes quickly and reacts almost immediately. Cooking smoke is a great real-world test, and the Q400 reliably picks it up within seconds, ramping up fan speed in Auto mode without manual intervention. In a small to medium-sized room, dust and airborne particulates get reduced in just about 10 to 15 minutes. You can “breathe” the difference, especially if you’re coming from outdoors. Auto mode works intelligently, adjusting fan speed based on air quality and even switching off when pollution levels drop.

Smart Features and App Experience

The mobile app is one of the Q400’s stronger points. Qubo brings intuitive, responsive, and easy-to-understand, even if you’re not particularly tech savvy. You can monitor air quality, switch modes, adjust fan speeds, and schedule operations directly from this software on your phone.

Unfortunately, you’re not getting a dedicated screen that displays air quality. Instead, the Q400 uses color codes, namely Green, Yellow, and Red, to indicate air quality levels. For a deeper insight, the Qubo app gives you the finer details like AQI.

Sleep Mode and Noise Levels

Sleep mode deserves special mention because it’s genuinely quiet. Once enabled, the purifier fades into the background, making it suitable for overnight use even if you’re a light sleeper. There’s no distracting hum or sudden fan bursts.

What It Gets Wrong

The biggest omission is the lack of a numeric AQI display on the device itself. If you like glancing at exact air quality numbers, you’ll need to open the app every time. The color-coded system works, but it’s less informative than a proper display. Furthermore, there is no set standard with different brands having different colors to indicate air quality.

Room size is another limitation. The Q400 is best suited for small to medium rooms. If you’re expecting it to purify a large open living area or an open kitchen-living room combo, it may struggle to keep up. Lastly, while maintenance is simple, it does require some attention. Regularly cleaning the pre-filter is essential to keep performance consistent. It’s not difficult, but it’s something you can’t completely ignore.

Alternatives You Should Consider

If you want a purifier with a built-in numeric AQI display or support for larger rooms, there are other options to choose from. The Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite is slightly more expensive, but it offers such a display panel. There is also the Sharp FP-F40E-W that uses ions to neutralize airborne pollutants. Entry-level smartphones are usually judged by what they lack. Slower performance, basic cameras, and software compromises are expected at this price point. So, when I started using the Tecno Spark Go 3 as a daily phone, I was not looking for excitement. The goal was simple. Could a phone priced at Rs 8,999 handle everyday tasks without constantly reminding you of its limitations?

After spending time with it for calls, WhatsApp, YouTube, music streaming, and light photography, the Spark Go 3 turned out to be more usable than I expected, especially for users upgrading from older budget smartphones.

Practical design meant for daily handling

Despite the large display, the phone does not feel bulky. At 182.6g and just over 8mm thick, it is comfortable to hold for long calls or extended browsing sessions. The curved edges help with grip, and the overall build feels solid.

Tecno’s choice of colours adds a bit of personality without looking overdone. I have the black variant, and the retail package includes a textured back cover rather than a flimsy transparent one. The IP64 rating and drop-resistant build add peace of mind, especially for users who tend to be rough with their phones.

A large display that feels smoother than expected

The Spark Go 3 comes with a 6.74-inch display, which is genuinely large for this segment. Compared to the previous generation that featured a 6.67-inch panel with a punch-hole design, the screen size has increased slightly. That said, the Spark Go 3 uses a notch-style display, which feels like a small step backward in terms of modern design, though it does not affect usability in day-to-day use.

For watching videos, browsing social media, or reading content, the big screen immediately works in its favor. Text appears comfortable to read, and the overall viewing experience feels relaxed rather than cramped.

What stands out is the 120Hz refresh rate. This is still uncommon in entry-level phones, and it makes a noticeable difference during daily use. Scrolling through apps, swiping between screens, and navigating menus feels smoother than what most users would expect from a phone priced under Rs 9,000. The HD+ resolution keeps expectations realistic, but for most users, smoothness matters more than pixel density.

Outdoor visibility is also decent, thanks to the high brightness mode, making the phone usable under direct sunlight.

The good old 3.5mm audio jack has been retained, which will be appreciated by users who still prefer wired earphones. It is also worth noting that while the previous generation offered dual speakers, the Spark Go 3 comes with a single speaker. The output is decent for calls, videos, and casual music listening, even if it does not offer stereo separation.

Decent cameras

The 13-megapixel rear camera is straightforward and predictable. In good lighting, photos come out with acceptable detail and natural colours. The camera app is easy to use, and features like AI Flash Snap help in low-light situations, although expectations should remain realistic.

The 8MP front camera handles video calls and selfies reliably, making it suitable for online classes, work calls, and everyday social media use.

This is not a camera phone, but it delivers consistent results for basic photography needs.

Performance that stays stable for everyday tasks

Powering the Spark Go 3 is the Unisoc T7250 processor, paired with 4GB RAM and an additional 4GB virtual RAM through memory fusion. On paper, this setup is modest, but in daily use, it holds up well.

Core apps like WhatsApp, YouTube, music streaming platforms, and web browsers run smoothly. Light multitasking does not feel frustrating, and the phone manages casual games without major hiccups. For users moving up from older entry-level phones, the difference in responsiveness will be noticeable.

Storage expansion is also supported via a microSD card slot, which is useful for users who rely heavily on offline media, photos, or videos.

Tecno’s claim of long-term lag-free performance will need time to be proven, but initial usage suggests the software has been optimized reasonably well.

The 5,000mAh battery is one of the Spark Go 3’s strongest points. With moderate use, including calls, messaging, video streaming, and music playback, the phone comfortably lasts a full day and often stretches into the next.

The phone supports 15W fast charging, but a 10W charger is provided in the box, which is in line with expectations at this price.

Software experience with useful AI touches

Running HiOS 15 based on Android 15, the software experience feels feature-rich for the segment. Tecno has focused on practical AI features rather than flashy additions. AI noise reduction improves call clarity, AI song identification works reliably, and Ella AI supports Indian languages, which adds real value for local users.

Ella works as a voice assistant for basic tasks such as setting reminders, checking information, opening apps, and handling simple voice commands, making it particularly useful for first-time smartphone users and those more comfortable interacting in regional languages rather than typing.

Another welcome inclusion is the infrared sensor, allowing the phone to function as a remote control for compatible appliances. This is a feature many users still find genuinely useful.

Tecno also includes its FreeLink feature, which enables device-to-device communication without mobile network coverage. I could not test this feature as it works only between supported Tecno smartphones, but it can be handy in areas with poor network connectivity or during emergencies.

Who is the Tecno Spark Go 3 meant for?

At Rs 8,999, the Tecno Spark Go 3 is clearly aimed at first-time smartphone users, students, parents, and anyone looking for a dependable secondary phone. It is not designed for power users or heavy gaming, and it does not try to be.

Instead, it focuses on delivering a smooth display, reliable battery life, stable everyday performance, and practical features that make daily usage easier. For its price, that combination makes the Spark Go 3 a sensible and well-rounded option in the entry-level segment.

The wait is finally over for global flagship enthusiasts eager for the Honor Magic8 Pro. While the device shares core configurations with its China-only counterpart, targeted adjustments have been made to align with regional regulatory requirements and user demands. For reference, the Chinese version has a high-capacity 7,200 mAh battery and 120 W wired fast charging, whereas the global version has more modest specifications — a trend previously seen in models such as the Vivo X300 Pro. Despite the reduced battery capacity, however, the Honor Magic8 Pro (Global) outperforms the Vivo flagship in terms of real-world battery endurance.

As our OnePlus 15 China vs. Global comparison analysis highlighted, many brands choose to reduce the battery capacity of devices intended for non-Chinese markets, particularly EU-compliant variants, in order to comply with strict regional regulations. This raises two key questions: what modifications have specifically been implemented on the global Honor Magic8 Pro, and what exclusive features does it offer international users? This review summarises weeks of real-world testing to answer these questions.

Band Support & eSIM

Above all, support for 5G bands is the key factor in determining the viability of Chinese flagship smartphones in overseas markets. Fortunately, the Honor Magic8 Pro (Global) supports almost all of the major European 5G bands (Congratulations to European users!). My colleague Paco conducted a field test in the UK and verified stable connectivity and consistent data speeds, even in high-traffic urban areas and remote mountainous areas.

Compatibility testing also confirms support for most North American 5G bands, with only a small number of US carriers excluded from the list. For the majority of users in Europe and North America, this translates to seamless, reliable 5G performance.

The most notable upgrade for global travellers and digital nomads is eSIM support, a feature that was unavailable on the China-only model. The device offers a variety of connectivity options, including dual nano-SIMs, dual eSIMs, or a combination of one nano-SIM and one eSIM. This flexibility allows users to switch between local carriers while travelling internationally without having to swap physical SIM cards, making the Honor Magic8 Pro (Global) one of the most travel-friendly Android flagship phones currently available.

Battery

Next, this review examined the battery life and charging speed of the Magic8 Pro, which has been the subject of much discussion around the world. The China model sets a high benchmark with its 7,200 mAh battery and 120 W wired charging; the global variant, however, has a 7,100 mAh battery and 100 W wired charging. While this appears to be a significant compromise on paper, real-world testing yields a contrasting conclusion.

A standardized battery stress test was conducted, encompassing the following scenarios:

• 1 hour of 1080p YouTube video streaming
• 1 hour of social media browsing and interaction
• 30 minutes of 4K video recording
• 1 hour of 5G web browsing
• 30 minutes of graphics-intensive gaming

Test results demonstrate impressive power efficiency across all scenarios. Heavy users can retain 15–20% battery power by bedtime after a full day of intensive use, while light users can extend a single charge to two complete days. The 100W wired charging still delivers rapid replenishment, charging the battery from 0% to 50% in just 12 minutes and achieving a full charge in less than 30 minutes—sufficient for quick top-ups between daily activities.

Camera System

The global Magic8 Pro has the same camera hardware as its Chinese counterpart, which is a key advantage for photography enthusiasts. However, a critical question remains: does the camera system live up to flagship standards, or is it the ‘least competent’ among top-tier Android devices, as some critics have claimed? This section analyses sample images and real-world performance to provide a definitive answer.

In bright daylight (as the afternoon sun neared sunset), the main sensor provides an exceptional dynamic range, preserving sharp details in overexposed skies and shadowed foregrounds without the need for artificial colour enhancement. Colour reproduction is neutral and true to life, with no oversaturation, making it ideal for landscape, cityscape and travel photography.

The 200MP Super Night Telephoto lens is the undisputed standout component of the camera system. It captures clear, sharp candid shots even in low-light environments, and with CIPA 5.5-level optical image stabilization, it maintains crisp details at 10–30x zoom ratios.

Distant subjects—ranging from pedestrians in crowded squares to intricate building facades—are rendered with minimal noise in low-light telephoto mode. This feature establishes the Magic8 Pro’s competitive edge over many of its counterparts in the telephoto imaging category.

Although the ultra-wide-angle lens is the sole underperforming component, this is not an indication of poor quality. With a focal length of 12 mm, it captures expansive scenes with solid edge sharpness and minimal barrel distortion. However, it lacks the visual impact of the main and telephoto lenses. Nevertheless, it remains a viable option for architectural photography and group portraits.

Camera features are characterized by practicality, with no flashy gimmicks cluttering the interface. Film filters, AI subject tracking, and one-tap AI enhancement simplify the shooting process for novice users, while the dedicated AI button—a feature not available on iPhone devices—enables quick access to camera launch or zoom adjustments, facilitating the capture of spontaneous moments without navigating complex menus.

Compared to flagships from Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo, the Magic8 Pro’s imaging system lacks a distinctive, stylized color profile. For users who prioritize true-to-reality image output over processed, social media-optimized shots, however, this is a significant advantage.

Video Performance

Video performance represents the only shortcoming of the Magic8 Pro’s imaging suite, falling short of its photographic capabilities. Low-light footage exhibits noticeable noise and inconsistent white balance, with color tones fluctuating between warm and cool in mixed-light environments such as restaurants or night markets—a distraction for professional video creators.

On the positive side, the device supports 4K 60fps HDR Vivid recording across all lenses, as well as 4K 120fps slow-motion recording on the main and telephoto lenses. For daytime vlogging or casual video shooting, it meets basic requirements, but it is not a preferred choice for professional video production.

Display

To enhance ergonomics, Honor has slightly reduced the display size of the global variant, but it retains the same curved LTPO OLED panel as the Chinese model, ensuring no compromises in design or visual quality.

The 1.5K resolution strikes an optimal balance between sharpness and power efficiency. In real-world usage, display clarity is nearly indistinguishable from 2K screens, with crisp text rendering and detailed image presentation, and no visible pixelation even at close viewing distances. LTPO technology adjusts the refresh rate dynamically between 1–120Hz based on content type, conserving battery life without sacrificing visual smoothness.

The display’s most prominent selling point is its industry-leading eye-care technology. A combination of 4,320Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and DC-like dimming significantly reduces eye strain caused by screen flicker—a common issue with low-frequency PWM displays. Low-light testing confirms that flicker is nearly imperceptible, making the device far more comfortable to use at night than many competing flagships. Honor has also integrated dedicated features for users with dry eye syndrome, a thoughtful design element that differentiates the device from its peers.

Performance & Software

Under the hood, the Honor Magic8 Pro (Global) is powered by the latest flagship SoC, which is specifically optimized for regional 5G band support. If most smartphone imaging systems are chasing “more clarity” and “greater accuracy,” then the Xiaomi 17 Ultra by Leica is clearly taking a different path—it tries to give photos their emotions back. When you switch to Leica Essential mode, this phone stops obsessing over reproducing everything exactly as it is, and instead makes deliberate choices. Highlights are restrained, shadows are allowed to fall silent, and a subtle grain appears, like a breath carried over from the film era.

The image is no longer just a record of “what happened,” but a complete story being told. If you’re not interested in Leica, then don’t buy this phone. Out of the $1,000 you’re paying, at least $500 goes directly into every aspect of the Leica collaboration— the exclusive Leica Essential mode, the Leica red dot, the camera ring, and a full range of Leica-branded accessories. This device is, quite literally, a Leica camera that can make calls and fit into your pocket.

Leica Essential

The Leica M9 look, and the M3 with Monopan 50 film look are not filters. Like Leica’s Authentic modes, they are processed directly within the ISP and output as is. That’s why you simply can’t recreate such natural Leica-style images through basic post-processing. You can even use cloud-based image processing to enhance image quality, but photos shot in Leica Vibrant and Leica Authentic can’t.

The white balance of the M9 looks is fixed to daylight, which does a great job of preserving the warmth of the lighting. However, because white balance cannot be adjusted in this mode, photos taken indoors can easily appear too yellow. Switching back to Leica Vibrant is a better option in those situations.

Another issue is launch speed. Getting into Leica Essential mode is not as quick as Fastshot mode, which caused me to miss quite a few great moments.

One of the reasons that makes Xiaomi 17 Ultra by Leica so special is the camera ring. Yes, it really can be rotated to adjust focal length. You can also customize its function, such as rotating to control EV or filters, or rotating to jump directly into Leica Essential mode.

Unfortunately, just like the camera control button on the iPhone, this camera ring is… not as good to use as you might imagine. Because the ring is quite loose, it’s easy to be triggered accidentally, and it feels cheap in use. It makes sense why it’s designed this way—to prevent deformation from drops or getting stuck due to dust. This isn’t me making excuses for Xiaomi; they explained this in a recent official announcement.

But all of that can be summed up in one sentence: it’s not pleasant to use. Compared to the camera ring, I’d much rather control the camera using the grip from the photography kit.

Photography Kit

If you’re willing to, you can add another $100 at purchase to get the photography kit for the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. This generation combines all the advantages of previous versions. It still supports 67mm camera filters, the grip still can be connected to the phone via USB-C, and it still has a built-in 2,000mAh battery.

The replaceable shutter button is still there, and the dial has been redesigned to make it feel more like that of a professional camera. The control area has also been moved lower, making it more ergonomic. The thumb grip is now integrated, with a metal outer layer just like before. There are even magnets in the phone case, making it compatible with all MagSafe accessories. These are genuine upgrades—but there are always some downgrades.

Like the phone’s camera ring, the rotating structure on the case is still very loose, which makes it feel less premium. The case material has also changed from vegan leather to plain plastic. My biggest complaint is that the case blocks the Leica red dot logo. If you use the case included in the phone box, the grip cannot lock onto the phone at all. Listen, Xiaomi: if you don’t want to spend more on Leica licensing for the photography kit, then at least cut a hole in the case.

At the moment, I only recommend this kit to users who bought the regular 17 Ultra. Oh, and Xiaomi has also released a Photography Kit Lite—Leica edition. Users should avoid it as well, because it blocks the camera ring.

Telephoto

Now that we’re done with the Leica part, let’s talk about image quality. How is the image quality of this telephoto camera with true optical zoom? Good—but not good enough. The good part is that it doesn’t have any obvious flaws. Whether you’re watching this video on a phone or a computer, as long as I don’t zoom in, you probably can’t find anything wrong with the photos, right? And with In-Sensor Zoom available at both 200mm and 400mm, its telephoto reach is actually quite strong.

The reason I say it’s still not good enough is that, in slightly dimmer lighting, the image quality looks a bit soft. In terms of sharpness, it can even be slightly worse than the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Another limitation is the 30cm minimum focusing distance, which makes it hard to call the shots true macro.

That’s one of the trade-offs of optical zoom. By the way, if you shake the phone and hear something moving inside the camera, that’s because the camera module is very large. The sound comes from the OIS module and the telephoto lens group moving, and this is completely normal.

As for the focal length range, 75mm to 100mm sounds quite wide on paper, but in practice, the difference in field of view between 75mm and 100mm isn’t that big. Taking two steps forward can give you a similar result.

Why not make the range wider? Xiaomi explained this in the same announcement: there simply isn’t enough internal space to fit a telephoto module beyond 100mm. Being able to satisfy users who like 75, 85, 90, and 100mm lenses is already the best Xiaomi could do.

Main Camera & Video

Although the 17 Ultra still uses a one-inch main sensor, the model has changed. The biggest upgrade is the addition of LOFIC technology. Simply put, this increases dynamic range, especially in highlight control. Video also benefits from LOFIC: areas that would normally blow out are now much better controlled, resulting in a noticeable improvement in dynamic range.

However, I’m not very satisfied with the video recording on the 17 Ultra. The image stabilization isn’t stable enough, and motion blur caused by stabilization appears quite frequently. If a one-inch sensor performs like this, the ultra-wide camera can only be worse.

Besides image quality that’s genuinely hard to accept, there are also some strange, almost bug-like behaviors. For example, the person at the bottom of this footage. In very dark environments, subjects show trailing and color noise. Clearly, the video recording experience isn’t fully ready yet, and we’ll have to wait for updates and optimization.

Ultra-wide Camera & Selfie

On the bright side, the ultra-wide camera is 14mm, which means it offers a much wider field of view than other phones in the 17 series. If you look at these photos on their own, the quality isn’t terrible. But when you consider that I paid $1,000, and the other two cameras are so good, the ultra-wide camera ends up feeling especially weak. Perhaps for a photography-focused phone like this, sacrificing the ultra-wide camera in favor of the main and telephoto is something people can accept more easily.

The selfie camera has seen a slight upgrade to a 50MP sensor. Under normal conditions, selfies are perfectly fine, and the larger sensor really helps in low light. Even when the lighting is weak, facial details aren’t lost too badly. As a man, I’m already quite satisfied with this level of selfie quality.

Performance

I think I’ve talked enough about the cameras, so it’s time to discuss the Xiaomi 17 Ultra as a smartphone. There’s not much left to say about the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform—you can basically consider it the most powerful mobile processor available right now. Its performance in benchmarks is actually a bit more aggressive than the 17 Pro Max.

For an imaging-focused flagship, the gaming experience on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is excellent. It maintains high frame rates without throttling, and temperatures stay reasonable. We also didn’t find any “cheating” behavior like resolution scaling. So, as long as you don’t mind the lack of frame interpolation, it can easily serve as a gaming phone for the next three to five years.

Display & Battery

There isn’t much to say about the display either. Like the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, it’s now flat and uses a new pixel arrangement. This is currently Xiaomi’s most advanced display.

While we’re now in an era where smartphone battery capacities have exceeded 10,000mAh, 6,800mAh may not sound huge anymore—but you definitely can’t call it small. I’d say it’s more than enough. If battery life is especially important to you, Xiaomi gave you another option three months ago. If you treat the 17 Ultra purely as a camera, after a full day of intensive shooting, it still has 26% battery remaining.

It supports 90W wired charging, which is more than enough for most people. Wireless charging dropping from 80W to 50W is definitely a step back, but considering that wired charging supports 90W PPS and reverse charging has been increased to 22.5W, the overall charging system is still a clear improvement over the 15 Ultra.

Conclusion

After taking nearly 600 photos in Hong Kong, the positioning of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra became increasingly clear to me. The photos it takes may not be the sharpest, but they are absolutely the most emotionally rewarding. If you love photography, you may have many reasons why you can’t buy a real Leica M camera—but you really have no reason not to buy a Xiaomi 17 Ultra by Leica.

It’s smaller, cheaper, and more durable. I believe that over the next year, it will become my main camera, being with me as I capture more stories from the streets and alleys of everyday life.

The OnePlus R-series has always been about offering a flagship-like experience at an affordable price, keeping the brand’s “flagship-killer” legacy alive. Over the years, we have seen OnePlus shift its strategy, and we are currently at yet another pivoting point.

This time, OnePlus is going all-in on gaming. The OnePlus 15 laid the foundation for this transition, and the OnePlus 15R is carrying it forward. While the latest R-series device remains the affordable sibling to the mainline flagship, its USP has evolved compared to previous generations.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at what the OnePlus 15R has to offer.

The One for Gaming

The OnePlus 15R is built from the ground up for gaming. While I’m not a heavy gamer myself, my brother is. Since I first handed him the phone to try it out, he hasn’t stopped asking for it whenever he wants to play BGMI.

He enjoys playing on the 15R primarily because of the consistent 120 fps it delivers. While the device does get slightly warm during prolonged sessions, it manages to cool down remarkably fast.

This performance is backed by powerhouse hardware: the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, LPDDR5x Ultra RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage. It even features a self-developed touch-response chip and a G2 WiFi chip for low-latency connectivity.9

To keep thermals in check, OnePlus has implemented a 5,704mm² Cryo Velocity Cooling System comprising aerogel, a large vapor chamber, and a graphite layer.

As of now, the gaming optimization is spot on. I hope this level of performance holds steady or even improves with future software updates.

On the software front, the handset runs OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16. I consider it one of the best Android skins available, second only to Samsung’s One UI 8. 

The interface is snappy and comes loaded with AI features for those who want to use them. Additionally, the device is guaranteed to receive four major Android upgrades and six years of security updates.

Durable and Mainstream Design

I personally am a fan of the new design language OnePlus introduced with the 13s. By moving toward a more subtle aesthetic, the brand’s devices now appeal to a much wider audience. 

While the older circular camera layout served as the brand’s identity for the past few years, it felt a bit “over the top” and flashy, lacking a premium, mainstream vibe.

The OnePlus 15R, by contrast, is simple and elegant with its small, rounded rectangular camera island. The flat frame and rounded corners make it comfortable to hold.

And despite its ~220g weight, the balance is well-distributed. It is also remarkably slim at 8.3mm, especially for a handset packing a massive 7,400mAh battery.

My review unit came in Charcoal Black, which is a stealthy and classy choice. However, I personally prefer the Mint Breeze variant. Both of these colorways feature a matte glass finish, while the third option, Electric Violet, features a fiberglass rear with “ACE” engraved on it.

I do miss the traditional alert slider, but thankfully, the new ‘Plus’ key isn’t prone to accidental presses like it was on the OnePlus Nord 5. On the audio front, the stereo speakers are loud and clear, though they do lack bass. Also, I found the haptics could have been a bit tighter. 

Lastly, the durability is unmatched; the handset carries four IP ratings (IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K), meaning it can survive almost any extreme environment you might encounter.

Cameras Take a Backseat

The OnePlus 15R features a downgraded rear camera setup compared to its predecessor, the 13R. It lacks a dedicated telephoto lens, and the primary sensor has been swapped for an older Sony IMX906 unit. Meanwhile, the 8MP ultrawide sensor remains unchanged.

Conversely, the selfie camera receives a notable upgrade: a new 32MP snapper with autofocus. All sensors are powered by the self-developed DetailMax Engine, which replaced Hasselblad tuning starting with the OnePlus 15.

In ample lighting, the primary camera produces solid results with good detail and wide dynamic range, though images tend to lean toward warmer tones. Since there is no telephoto lens, the phone relies on digital cropping from the main sensor. Results are passable up to 3x, but quality deteriorates significantly beyond that. 

Video recording is average overall, though the inclusion of a 4K 120fps mode for slow-motion is a welcome addition.

However, performance takes a hit in low light. The device triggers auto night mode even for indoor shots, and low-light images often come out blurry with blown-out highlights. 

As for the ultrawide camera, it feels like an afterthought; it lacks autofocus and fails to impress in any lighting condition. On a brighter note, the selfie camera is the best we’ve seen on an R-series device, delivering crisp images thanks to the inclusion of autofocus. Curiously, video recording is capped at 30fps across all resolutions (up to 4K).

Endurance Champ

The OnePlus 15R is built around a 6.83-inch centered punch-hole OLED display. The panel offers a resolution of 2800 x 1272 pixels, 450 PPI, and 10-bit color depth. 

While it supports up to a 165Hz refresh rate, it’s worth noting that the 144Hz and 165Hz modes are only activated within specific supported games. Also, it cannot refresh below 60Hz for energy consumption due to LTPS limitations.

Visibility is excellent even outdoors, as the panel reaches 1,800 nits in High Brightness Mode (HBM). It also covers all the HDR bases, including HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. Tucked under Corning Gorilla Glass 7i is an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which I found to be both quick and reliable.

Powering the device is a massive 7,400mAh silicon-carbide battery. In my testing, the phone easily lasted two days with normal usage. 

Even with heavy gaming and camera use, it comfortably cleared a full day and then some. This is, without a doubt, the best battery life I have ever seen on a OnePlus device. 

Charging remains a strong suit with 80W SuperVOOC support, which fills the massive cell in about an hour. You can even use the device to reverse-charge a friend’s phone in a pinch, though I do wish OnePlus had included wireless charging support.

Verdict: Is It the Right One for You?

The OnePlus 15R is not an all-rounder. Instead, it excels in two specific areas: gaming and battery life. If those are your priorities, you won’t be disappointed.

Despite its gamer-centric performance, the 15R avoids the typical “gamer” aesthetic in favor of a clean, mainstream design. While this gives it broad appeal, potential buyers should be prepared for a mediocre camera experience, particularly in low light.

On the plus side, the phone is exceptionally well-built and durable, thanks to its multiple IP ratings. And the extended software support ensures it will age gracefully.

It handles the basics well, from the vibrant display and loud speakers to reliable cellular reception and fast charging. But is it worth the ₹47,999 / $699 / €699 asking price? 

In my opinion, the OnePlus 15R is a solid product, but it isn’t the one for me. At this premium price point, I expect a more versatile camera system and convenience features like wireless charging.

Ultimately, the OnePlus 15R is positioned for a younger audience that prioritizes gaming and media consumption above all else. And that’s exactly what the brand’s marketing suggests. If you fall into that camp, this phone was made for you.

Readers who have watched our review of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra may recall that the device left a rather underwhelming impression. The generational upgrades were modest, and the phone lacked truly distinctive features. After spending time with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, however, the reasoning behind that becomes clear: Xiaomi appears to have reserved its most ambitious efforts for this generation.

In this hands-on article, we begin with the unboxing experience before focusing on the key upgrades that define the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.

Unboxing

Much like the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra arrives in a flatter and elongated package compared to previous generations. The contents are identical to those of the Pro Max variant, including documentation, a SIM ejector tool, a transparent protective case, and a USB-A to USB-C cable.

Xiaomi also includes the same 100W charger, although it is worth noting that the handset itself supports up to 90W wired charging.

Telephoto With True Optical Zoom

When discussing smartphone optical zoom, Sony’s Xperia 1 series is often the first reference point. With the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, that benchmark may need to be reconsidered. The telephoto sensor on this device is more than twice the size of Sony’s equivalent, paired with a lens constructed from three glass elements and certified under Leica’s APO standards.

While extensive sample testing is still underway, early impressions strongly suggest that this may be the most capable optical zoom camera currently available on a smartphone. Zoom transitions are exceptionally smooth, image quality remains consistent across focal lengths, and—crucially—optical zoom is fully usable during video recording. This lossless zoom experience is both practical and rare. Although the 75–100mm range may appear limited on paper, it proves to be well-judged for real-world photography.

Beyond the telephoto lens, the rest of the camera system largely maintains the standard set by the 15 Ultra. The ultra-wide camera retains a 14mm focal length rather than shifting to a less versatile 17mm, while the new 1-inch main sensor now incorporates LOFIC technology. At this point, the hardware specification leaves little room for complaint.

Leica Special Edition: More Than Specifications

Had only the telephoto lens received meaningful upgrades, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra might still have felt incremental. What truly elevates the device is the introduction of the Leica Special Edition.

In a market where hardware differentiation has become increasingly narrow, emotional value and brand identity play a critical role. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra by Leica addresses this directly. For the first time, the iconic Leica red dot appears on a Xiaomi handset, accompanied by a rotating zoom ring, exclusive Leica engravings on the frame, and dedicated Leica color profiles.

The attention to detail extends to the accessories. The Leica edition includes an additional Leica-branded lens cap, a lanyard, and a cleaning cloth. The charging cable is upgraded to a braided design, while the custom phone case accommodates the rotating zoom ring and integrates magnets compatible with MagSafe accessories.

Remarkably, this special edition is priced at only around $71 more than the standard model. At this price difference, it feels less like an optional variant and more like the definitive version of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. For photography enthusiasts, it represents something closer to a pocketable Leica camera with genuine optical zoom rather than a conventional smartphone.

We were able to secure a pre-order of this Leica edition and will be sharing a more detailed assessment after extended use in the full review.

Other Upgrades

The remaining changes are more iterative in nature. With one camera removed from the array, the camera module is marginally smaller, contributing to a slight reduction in overall thickness. The circular volume buttons remain unchanged—hardly a functional upgrade, but a subtle design refresh nonetheless. There is still no dedicated camera control button on the frame, and the photography kit continues to omit a teleconverter.

As expected, the chipset has been updated to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Given the early release timing, concerns about near-term obsolescence are minimal. The display matches that of the 17 Pro Max: a large, flat panel with a specialized pixel arrangement designed to balance sharpness and power efficiency.

Battery capacity stands at 6,800mAh, paired with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. While not as extreme as the Pro Max configuration, it is more than sufficient for demanding daily use. Ultimately, this is Xiaomi’s most powerful smartphone to date—and easily the most compelling the company has produced so far.

Conclusion

To the best of our knowledge, until at least 2027, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra stands alone as the only smartphone combining a 1-inch main sensor with a telephoto camera capable of true optical zoom. Its imaging strategy diverges sharply from other “Ultra” flagships currently on the market.

Regardless of how the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is ultimately judged in long-term testing, the Leica Special Edition delivers a level of emotional appeal unmatched by its peers. In the coming weeks, we will share our real-world experience along with a full set of sample images during the New Year period.

Until recently, I never took gaming chairs seriously. For years, I relied solely on typical office chairs, usually mesh-back models or faux leather types with basic adjustability. They did the job, but comfort was always a compromise, and none of them ever felt quite right for long sessions at the desk.

Then I got the DXRacer Martian (Non-Pro), and after using it for a month, I can confidently say it has changed my perception of what a well-built ergonomic chair can offer. This isn’t just a “gamer aesthetic” product. It’s a thoughtfully engineered piece of equipment that genuinely improved my daily comfort.

Setup Experience

Unboxing the chair was straightforward, although it’s definitely a two-person job because of the sheer weight. DXRacer wasn’t kidding when they built this like a tank. Once out of the box, assembly was relatively easy. The manual and clearly labeled components made the process smooth, and I appreciated how the electronics were plug-and-play. The battery module installs like a power tool battery, and all the wires are numbered, so there’s no confusion.

What stood out during the setup was how precise the construction felt. Everything aligned properly, no wobble, no loose-fitting screws, and the fit-and-finish was clearly a cut above the average.

Design and Materials

I went with the Black-Grey variant in size L. Visually, it strikes a nice balance between gaming and office chair styling. The branding is subtle, the silhouette is sleek, and the overall look is clean and professional enough to not look out of place in a studio or work-from-home setup. The materials feel premium. The EPU leatherette has a soft matte texture that avoids the sticky, plasticky feel you often get with cheaper PU chairs.

The chair is also incredibly heavy, close to 70 lbs, which I initially saw as a downside, but that weight translates into stability. It never creaks, wobbles, or shifts unintentionally. The powder-coated aluminum alloy base and steel frame give the Martian a sturdy, grounded feel. It’s clear this chair was built with longevity in mind.

Comfort and Daily Use

This is where the Martian really earned its keep. I’ve had back strain issues for over two years, and I was admittedly skeptical about how much a chair could help. But after using the Martian consistently for the past month, I noticed a significant reduction in my back discomfort, especially during long editing or writing sessions.

The cold-cure foam is on the firmer side, but not in a punishing way. It holds its shape and provides consistent support throughout the day. I never felt like I was sinking in or losing posture. In fact, it encouraged better posture without forcing it. Over time, the foam seems to soften slightly, but it never loses structure.

The seat base is wide and flat, which I appreciate because I tend to sit cross-legged occasionally. There are no aggressive side bolsters pinching my thighs like you find in some racing-style chairs. This open design contributes a lot to its day-to-day comfort.

Electric Recline and Lumbar Support

The motorized recline is something I initially thought would be a gimmick, but it’s probably one of my favorite features now. You just tap a button on the left side, and the backrest glides back silently to whatever angle you prefer (up to 135°). It’s not fast, but the motion is smooth and precise. This level of control is hard to achieve with mechanical levers.

Then there’s the smart air lumbar system. This is not a loose cushion or a stiff plastic plate. The Martian has two internal airbags that you can adjust in four directions using a small D-pad-style control placed on the right side.

I wasn’t sure how impactful this would be until I used it for a few days. Being able to fine-tune the lumbar depth and position to match the natural S-curve of my back made a noticeable difference. It adapts to my posture even when I shift slightly, which keeps my lower back supported throughout the day.

Headrest and Armrests

The magnetic memory foam headrest is another surprisingly great feature. No straps, no awkward adjustments. You just slide it up or down the backrest, and it clicks into place magnetically. It’s firm enough to provide proper support, and the vertical adjustment range is wide enough to accommodate my height comfortably (I’m around 5’7”).

As for the armrests, they’re 4D adjustable and have magnetic top plates, so you can swap them out in the future. The included pads are fairly standard, firm polyurethane, but they get the job done. I haven’t had any discomfort with them.

There is a slight wobble in the armrest mechanism, but it is minor and does not cause any discomfort. The armrests offer enough adjustability to easily position them where they feel comfortable, whether I am typing, gaming, or leaning back.

Battery and Charging

Initially, I was concerned about the idea of charging a chair. But in practice, it’s not an issue at all. The internal 5,000mAh battery lasts about two to three weeks on a single charge with light daily adjustments.

When it’s low, you can either plug it in using the retractable cable or remove the battery and charge it like a power bank. I’ve settled into a habit of charging it once every two weeks, similar to how I treat my wireless mouse.

One thing to be aware of: if the battery dies completely, you can’t adjust the recline or lumbar until it’s recharged. The chair still works as a static seat, but you lose the electric features until power is restored.

Real-World Fit and Limitations

For context, I use a fairly static desk setup with a non-adjustable monitor and a fixed-height desk. I did notice that even at its tallest setting, the chair sits just a bit lower than I’d like. If the gas lift had a slightly higher max extension, it would have helped me line up perfectly with my monitor height.

That said, this is something I have noticed across most premium gaming chairs, so it is not a deal-breaker. It’s just worth keeping in mind if you have a taller-than-average desk.

The other thing to note is that this chair isn’t made for horizontal lounging. The 135° recline is good for leaning back to watch something or relax, but it doesn’t go fully flat like some models that recline to 160° or more. If you’re the type who naps in your chair, this may feel a bit limited.

Martian Pro vs Non-Pro

One of our editors also had the chance to test and review the Martian Pro variant. The main differences come down to a few additional features in the Pro version: seat heating, cooling ventilation, and a built-in massage function.

The Non-Pro retains the same core strengths, electric recline, smart lumbar, and high-end materials, but skips the extra electronics that drain the battery faster or add potential failure points. Final Thoughts

Switching to the DXRacer Martian (Non-Pro) has been a surprisingly transformative experience. Coming from regular office chairs, I didn’t expect such a dramatic improvement in posture and comfort. The smart lumbar system alone justifies the price for me, given the relief it has brought to my back strain. The build quality is rock-solid, the materials feel premium, and the electric adjustments feel like a genuine step forward, not a gimmick.

It’s not a cheap chair, and it’s not without its quirks. The weight makes it hard to move, the battery needs occasional attention, and the recline range isn’t for loungers. But for someone who spends hours at a desk and values comfort, posture, and thoughtful ergonomics, the Martian Non-Pro checks nearly all the boxes.

Would I go back to a traditional chair after this? Honestly, no. Not unless it has the same kind of intelligent support and solid construction. The Martian has earned its place in my setup, not as a flashy gaming accessory, but as a tool that actually supports how I work and play.

There are many ways open earbuds can evolve, one of them is getting smaller and lighter. By doing that, it takes a lot of engineering and testing. So here in the review, let’s look at the HUAWEI FreeClip 2, a pair of new open earbuds that are even smaller and lighter, and have better sound quality.

Design

Not like a phone, you can immediately tell whether it’s big or small. For earbuds, most of the cases are already small enough for anybody actually. But the FreeClip 2’s case is even smaller than the last gen. The way it achieves that is by relocating the earbuds in a new way. As you can see, the earbuds are kind of forming a cross inside the case, so they take up less space. Even if the earbuds are placed that way, you can still just grab either of them by the speaker unit, then take them out, put them on your ears easily like a breeze. And don’t get it wrong, when you take one out, it does not tag the other one along. By comparison, the earbuds of last gen are like sitting there facing down, for you to take them out easily.

The other thing I have noticed is that, this little bean-shaped side is smaller than the last gen, which also contributes to the size control a lot. But don’t worry, the mellow curve is still there, they still hug your ears gently.

The overall build quality is still top-notch, the color is very refreshing, and the finish is really fine. I am glad they went with this leather texture on the case. Maybe you will not want to put another protective case on it, because it’s not easy to get scratched.

One slight pity in the colors though, there were many refreshing colors like the rose gold and purple, but this time there are the blue, white and black. For the last gen, I think they were definitely a fashionable item, but it is more minimalist this time.

Sound Quality

My first impression of sound quality is that it is very much in line with in-ears, if not better. The vocals are pretty crisp and stand out, the highs and mids are also very good. And because there is a 10.8mm powerful dual-diaphragm driver inside, it claims to cover the frequency response range: 20 Hz to 20 kHz, I can tell the bass is definitely punchier than the last gen. The other benefit of the dual driver is that the volume is much bigger, big enough that people can definitely hear you if it is too big.

And the other thing that contributes to the sound quality is the “C-bridge”. To my personal experience, the earbuds actually clip on my ears tighter, and the speaker unit is facing directly into my ear canal, so it feels like the music is playing like in-ears.

There is also a feature called Adaptive Volume. We’ve seen this in AirPods Pro, but my personal experience tells me that this feature is not to my taste. Because for in-ear type earbuds, the sound is mostly blocked anyway, and you want to focus on the music, so volume change is just awkward.

Wearing Comfort

One thing open earbuds do great is in good wearing comfort. First of all, each earbud weighs only 5.1g. I know when the number comes to this stage, it doesn’t matter. But it is indeed 0.5g lighter than the last gen. Still, you won’t feel much of its presence, since they are not in your ears.

The touch controls are in two areas, the bridge and the bean. If you are playing the music, taps on the bridge can trigger different features. But the volume control is actually in the bean; you swipe up and down to change the volume. This can be a very smart design, but be careful when you change volume; don’t swipe too hard, otherwise the earbuds will shift position, then you will have to move them a little bit.

Features

It says there is an NPU AI processor dedicated to processing, which is used for automatic volume control and adaptive voice enhancement. But these two features are still experimental, still not available for regular use. There is an option for you to enable them in the App.

Since the two earbuds are identical, you can wear them at either ear. There isn’t a difference between left and right. This is a very thoughtful feature. There are also controls initiated by head movement; you nod to accept calls, shake your head to reject calls. There are also many other features embedded in the App, even a custom listening profile. There are also wear detection and find earbuds features.

Summary

I would say the HUAWEI FreeClip 2 is truly flagship-level, from the build quality to the listening experience. You can really see the innovation in the material choices and the overall finish, and the speaker unit is also very well-made. The control features are very thoughtful. I never knew the touch control could be made in an area as thin as the C-bridge. The App experience is identical across all devices. If you are looking for a pair of good open earbuds, give these a serious consideration.

So yes, HUAWEI did it too. The Mate Pro+ series has now been renamed as Pro Max this year. Xiaomi taught us through its own sales numbers that, as long as the product is powerful enough, the name doesn’t matter. In fact, HUAWEI probably thinks the same way, which is why the Mate 80 Pro Max has become the new peak of HUAWEI smartphones. Also, this is the most impressive Pro Max I’ve ever seen. With a major redesign and a launch price lower than last year’s Mate 70 Pro+, there’s no reason the Mate 80 Pro Max would be anything less than great.

Design & Features

Let me answer the question you’re most curious about. No, this ring on the back doesn’t support magnetic accessories. Why the Mate 80 Pro Max has such a ring here it’s simply to prevent the functions of the wireless charging coil from being blocked by its metal back cover.

Compared to the Mate 70 series, the frames of the Mate 80 series have changed from round to flat. The benefit is that it looks slimmer. As for the downside, your hand will tell you.

The Mate 80 Pro Max is a phone with many holes. The three holes on the screen are nothing new; basically, the 3D facial recognition module and the front camera.

There are also five holes along the frame, including the microphone, speaker port, and SIM card slot—most of them are familiar to us. But what is this hole on the side for? HUAWEI told us that this is also one of the speakers. The difference is that it’s mainly used to cancel out the sound waves leaking during calls, to protect your privacy during phone calls.

Many of HUAWEI’s target users are outdoor explorers, so HUAWEI also designed new features for them. The Mate 80 Pro Max adds a new Expedition mode, which turns a modern smartphone into a professional outdoor tool. In addition to satellite communication and emergency messaging, it also extends battery life a lot. The map has also been optimized, automatically recording your path and allowing you to retrace your route anytime.

With IP68 and IP69 ratings, and the second-generation Kunlun Glass, treating the Mate 80 Pro Max as an ultimate rugged phone is absolutely justified.

Display

If you have the budget to buy the Mate 80 Pro Max or RS Ultimate version, your display will be upgraded from regular OLED to a Tandem one. Tandem OLED is not a new technology. The iPad Pro and HUAWEI Mate 70 RS Ultimate both use Tandem OLED.

The benefits of this panel are obvious—higher brightness, wider color gamut, and lower power consumption. Higher resolution may not be noticeable for everyone, but higher brightness is something you will definitely feel. I placed it next to several flagship phones we own, and at a glance, you can see how high the Mate 80 Pro Max’s brightness is.

Not only is it easier to read under sunlight, but it also excels at HDR content. The blinding highlights are hard to capture in video. Trust me, if you get a chance to see the Mate 80 Pro Max’s display in a store, you’ll definitely feel tempted to buy it.

The only downside of Tandem OLED is expense; however, the Mate 80 Pro Max is probably the cheapest Tandem OLED phone at launch right now. So this should be one of the strongest reasons for you to buy this phone.

Performance & Battery

The Mate 80 Pro Max uses the latest and most powerful Kirin 9030 Pro platform. Compared to the Kirin 9020, the 9030 Pro has one extra P-core, and both CPU and GPU frequencies have been improved. It’s worth noting that the four phones in the Mate 80 series have three different Kirin processor models. If you want the highest performance from a HUAWEI phone, you need to get the 16GB RAM Pro version at least.

Since the benchmarks we commonly use are all blacklisted by HUAWEI, we won’t be running benchmarks this time—the scores can’t prove the strength of a chipset anyway. So let’s jump straight to gaming performance.

Fortunately, miHoYo developed a HarmonyOS-exclusive version of Genshin Impact. This makes it one of the very few games that can fully unleash the Kirin 9030 Pro’s performance. And when you enable high-performance mode, you can disable frame interpolation.

HUAWEI also designed a new performance monitoring tool for all HarmonyOS phones: HiSmartPerf. With this, we can finally capture accurate frame rate curves from HarmonyOSI devices.

Wow, look at this perfectly straight frame rate graph—can you believe this is from a HUAWEI phone? This is the native frame rate without interpolation. I can’t believe that. It’s beautiful. Thanks to the full metal back cover, heat is evenly distributed. From this, the gaming experience seems comparable to other Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 phones.

Well, the Kirin 9030 Pro has indeed made great progress, but there is a cost—its power consumption still has room to improve. And with the battery capacity only increased by 300mAh compared to the previous generation—less than we expected—so battery life in gaming does indeed fall behind. Fortunately, under light workloads, it’s power-efficient enough to rival phones with 7000mAh batteries if you don’t play games.

Wired charging supports 100W, and wireless charging goes up to 80W. It only takes 50 minutes to fully charge in our tests. Overall, I think battery and charging performance are still satisfying.

Camera

All four camera sensors on the Mate 80 Pro Max come from SmartSens Technology. Honestly, I’m very happy with all four of them. The ultra-wide has a sufficiently wide field of view, and 2 telephoto lenses let me capture subjects far away.

There are two things to note: First, the ultra-wide camera is not compromised like in many other flagships. It uses the same sensor as the two telephotos, meaning image quality at every focal length remains excellent. Secondly, every sensor uses an RYYB filter, increasing light intake and greatly improving low-light performance. And the color shift caused by RYYB can be corrected with the second-generation color temperature sensor. Combined with the variable aperture on the main camera and SmartSens’s new HDR technology, this is the most feature-rich and balanced camera system I’ve seen. Whether it’s dynamic range, white balance, or focal coverage, I can’t find any faults.

Some phones try to use a 200MP mid-telephoto camera, rely on in-sensor zoom to cover longer focal lengths. Although in most cases, the cropped photos look similar to the Mate 80 Pro Max’s 6.2x optical zoom, this approach has two major drawbacks you might not know: One, their telephoto cameras cannot shoot macro photos. The Mate 80 Pro Max’s 4x telephoto has a minimum focusing distance of 5cm—the best macro performance we’ve ever seen on any phone, period.

Two, if you need to shoot video using the telephoto lens, the quality difference becomes huge. So, between a single large-sensor telephoto and two smaller-sensor telephotos that cover longer ranges, I’ll always choose the latter.

Speaking of video recording, the Mate 80 Pro Max has improved a lot as well. Shaking caused by stabilization has been reduced significantly. The ultra-wide sensor is also larger than that of other flagships, performing better than expected in low light.

The front camera is also from SmartSens, but with a smaller sensor. Selfie quality is average.

Conclusion

After reviewing this phone, I realized I like it more than the time I bought it. Although it looks more ordinary now, and its performance can’t compete with other Pro Max devices, HarmonyOS 6 is very smooth, and battery life is excellent if you don’t play games. The camera system is my favorite—full-range quad cameras—and it also has the brightest display I’ve ever seen.

Add long-held advantages like signals and Face ID, and you’ll understand why HUAWEI phones remain popular. Oh, and it’s also cheaper now, so for longtime HUAWEI users, this is the perfect time to upgrade.

I spent three to four weeks with the iQOO 15, using it as my main phone for daily communication, gaming, media and photography. The iQOO 15 arrives with an aggressive spec sheet, pairing the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with iQOO’s self-developed Q3 e-sports chip, a 7,000mAh Blue Ocean battery, and a new 2K 144Hz Samsung LEAD OLED panel. But on top of the hardware, iQOO is clearly positioning this device as a performance flagship that also aims for a well-rounded everyday experience. After extended use, here is how it held up.

Design and build

The iQOO 15’s Legend white edition has one of the cleanest finishes iQOO has released. The AG matte glass back feels smooth and resists fingerprints and sweat impressively well. The new three-colour diamond texture around the logo gives the rear a subtle but premium identity without feeling loud. The camera module continues the floating rectangular design that iQOO has used in recent generations and looks cohesive with the rest of the phone.

Below the camera sits the Halo Light, which returns with customizable lighting effects for charging cues, notifications and game-triggered animations. However, in my usage, it was less visible than the Halo Light on the iQOO 13, especially once a case is applied. In most cases, the light gets muted significantly, reducing its usefulness beyond pure aesthetics.

Despite the large battery capacity, iQOO has managed the weight distribution well. The curved edges and softened R-corners make long gaming sessions more comfortable. The metal frame adds to durability and grip. The side buttons are positioned sensibly, with the shortened volume rocker helping avoid accidental presses during landscape gameplay.

Display and audio

The 6.86-inch 2K LEAD OLED panel is one of the best additions to the iQOO 15. Samsung’s new M14 material helps reduce power usage while providing strong brightness levels. Outdoors, the screen remains legible even under direct sunlight, and the colors stay vibrant without washing out.

The polarizer-free design reduces reflections and slightly improves clarity. More importantly, it works with the high-frequency PWM dimming to reduce eye strain during late-night use. iQOO also pre-applies an AR anti-reflective screen protector, which genuinely cuts down glare and maintains colour accuracy.

The display shines during gaming. Titles that support native 144Hz run extremely smoothly, and iQOO’s frame interpolation option can push perceived fluidity even further. Even basic UI scrolling feels faster and more refined compared to standard 120Hz devices.

Audio performance is also strong. The stereo speakers deliver good volume, clarity and directional accuracy that benefits gaming scenarios, especially shooters and competitive titles. Dialogue and vocals sound crisp, though the bass response is more functional than deep. Bluetooth audio pairing is stable and high-bitrate codecs work as expected.

Performance and experience (1/2)

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 powers the core performance experience and does so confidently. Combined with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage, the phone feels fast in every scenario. Apps open immediately, multitasking is effortless, and the phone rarely reloads apps in the background. Thermally, iQOO’s enlarged 8K VC chamber and layered graphite system help maintain consistency during heavy use.

For gaming, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is supported by the Q3 e-sports chip, which handles rendering enhancement, ray tracing and AI tasks. This is where the iQOO 15 differentiates itself from typical flagship phones. Ray tracing support in Genshin Impact delivers better lighting depth and a more realistic atmosphere. You cannot use ray tracing and super-resolution or super-frame simultaneously, but switching between them is quick, and each mode offers clear improvements.

Honor of Kings was the most impressive showcase. With native 144fps enabled, the phone consistently stayed above 144fps during full ranked matches. Touch response remained sharp, and frame pacing was extremely stable. Power draw remained surprisingly low for this level of smoothness. Thermals were controlled, though the phone does warm up noticeably after long sessions, reaching around 40 degrees Celsius in the upper rear section. It never throttled meaningfully during my testing.

Performance and experience (2/2)

Battery life is outstanding. The massive 7,000mAh battery comfortably lasts a full day with heavy gaming or nearly two days with lighter use. On busy days with navigation, photography, streaming and a few gaming sessions, I usually ended with 25 to 35 percent left. For many users, this battery may be the strongest reason to choose the iQOO 15.

Charging is equally impressive. With the bundled 100W charger, the phone goes from nearly empty to 25 percent in around 10 minutes, passes 75 percent at roughly the half-hour mark and reaches full around 49 minutes. Wireless 40W charging is available and works consistently with standard Qi pads and iQOO’s own chargers.

It’s the first iQOO phone to come preloaded with the OriginOS 6-based Android 16. The overall user experience is fluid, and it comes with the promise of five years of Android OS upgrades and seven years of regular security patches. Day-to-day stability is excellent, and animations are smooth throughout.

Camera and other features

The camera system includes a 50MP Sony IMX921 main camera, a 50MP IMX882 periscope telephoto, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. This triple 50MP arrangement does not aim to compete with the most advanced camera flagships, but it is far better than what a pure gaming phone typically offers.

Daylight performance from the main sensor is vibrant and leans toward high saturation, which makes photos look lively on social media. Details are good, and dynamic range is strong, especially in complex lighting. In overcast weather, the phone tones down saturation and delivers more natural colors.

The periscope lens performs well at 3x optical zoom, offering good clarity and consistent color reproduction. Even at 6x the phone manages to preserve strong detail. Ultra-wide shots are distortion-free and capture large scenes effectively.

Night photography benefited from iQOO’s tuning. Brightness is elevated without blowing out highlights. Noise is controlled well, and the phone rarely produces unwanted ghosting even at high ISO. While it does not beat premium camera-centric flagships, it is perfectly reliable for daily and social use.

Other features include a fast ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, responsive haptics tuned for different in-game actions, stable wireless performance, and a well-built frame that feels durable. iQOO’s network optimization for multiplayer games noticeably reduces input jitter on unstable connections, which gamers will appreciate.

Verdict

After three to four weeks with the iQOO 15, it is clear that iQOO has moved beyond building only performance-focused phones. The iQOO 15 is a performance flagship that also delivers in display quality, battery life, charging speed, camera consistency, and overall day-to-day usability.

Yes, it warms up under long gaming loads. Yes, the Halo Light is not as visible as on the iQOO 13, particularly with a case. But these drawbacks pale in comparison to what you gain.

We previously tried out the photography kit in our OPPO Find X9 Pro review. In that video, we briefly introduced it but didn’t go into detail about its advantages. In this article, I want to fill in the parts we didn’t mention in the video. So if you haven’t watched it yet, you can check out the video below. After getting a general idea from the video, this article will help you decide whether the kit is worth buying.

First of all, this phone case included in the kit, is my favorite among all photography kits from any brand. It’s made of aramid fiber, which protects the phone without making it bulky. You can easily use it as an everyday case.

It also has a magnetic ring on the back, so it works with all MagSafe accessories. But its biggest purpose is still to attach the handle.

The handle can be quickly detached, supports vertical shooting, and even wireless charging. The orange shutter button and the lens cap with the “H” logo also highlight the collaboration between OPPO and Hasselblad.

The photography kit also includes a metal lens holder. This helps keep the setup balanced when mounted on a tripod.

The teleconverter lens has a diameter of around 4 cm and a length of about 12 cm. Inside are 13 glass elements, with a magnification of 3.28x. Once attached to the phone, it provides 10x magnification—equivalent to a 230 mm focal length—and can go up to 40x. Because the extended focal length comes from an actual optical lens group, the image quality is noticeably sharper compared to digitally zooming the phone to 10x.

Besides the sharper image quality, the teleconverter has three additional advantages:

1. Shallower depth of field
2. Avoiding AI enhancements that might otherwise ruin your photos
3. Still allowing you to shoot Live Photos in HASSELBLAD TELECONVERTER mode

To sum up: if you need ultra-long-distance shooting and want something lightweight—without buying a large, heavy telephoto lens and camera—the OPPO × Hasselblad photography kit is definitely one of the best options. Especially in situations where you can’t bring a tripod (such as concerts or product launches), this kit can deliver surprisingly good results.

Oppo unveiled the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro in China and global markets in October. In November, these devices were unveiled through a dedicated launch event in India. I have been using the Find X9 for around 3 weeks, and before I switch to my next review device, I will share my thoughts about this device through this review.

Design and Build

My review unit arrived in Titanium Grey, and the first thing you notice is the stark shift in industrial design. Oppo has abandoned the massive, lens-centric circular halo of the Find X8 generation in favour of a corner-mounted, rectangular camera island. To be honest, as a smartphone enthusiast, I miss the old design – that circular module screamed “camera-first” and gave the device a distinct identity. However, I seem to be in the minority here. Almost everyone who has seen me using the Find X9 has commented on how much more premium and sleek this refined aesthetic looks compared to its predecessor.

Ergonomically, the device is a triumph. The frosted glass back offers a velvety texture that is completely immune to fingerprints, and the weight distribution makes the handset feel substantial yet balanced. While the screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, the chassis boasts impressive IP68 and IP69 ratings, ensuring durability against water and high-pressure jets.

A standout addition is the customisable “Snap Key” on the left frame. It functions similarly to an action button, allowing for instant access to AI Notes or the camera, though I found its placement requires a slight grip adjustment to reach comfortably. I have used it actively to open Mind Space, mainly long-pressing it to add notes, storing anything important or idea-worthy that strikes my mind, and coming back to it later to revisit and organise those thoughts.

Display and Audio

The visual experience is driven by a 6.59-inch flat AMOLED panel that sits behind incredibly thin, uniform 1.15mm bezels. It is easily one of the most technically impressive screens I have tested recently. While the phone defaults to FHD+ resolution to conserve power, the sharpness and color calibration are flagship-grade.

Outdoor legibility is excellent as the panel gets bright enough to cut through direct sunlight, and the high-frequency PWM dimming ensures that low-light usage does not result in eye strain. Whether scrolling through text or watching Dolby Vision content, the 120Hz refresh rate keeps everything feeling fluid and responsive.

Complementing the visuals is a stereo speaker setup that punches well above its weight. The audio output is genuinely impressive as it’s loud, full-bodied, and maintains clarity even when you push the volume slider to the maximum. While it may lack the final bit of deep bass resonance found in absolute top-tier Pro models, the sound separation is fantastic for gaming and streaming. It is a complete multimedia package that does not force you to reach for headphones the moment you start a video.

Performance and Software (1/2)

The Find X9 delivers a reliable, consistent performance profile. It runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 platform, produced using a 3nm manufacturing node. In real daily use, this processor copes well with quick app transitions, media apps, navigation, editing tools, and AI functions. I don’t lean on synthetic scores to measure phones anymore, so the focus here is behavior, not charts.

I’ve had this camera mounted around my property for about a month, testing it in real-world conditions, and it’s clear that Baseus isn’t just slapping buzzwords onto a product. The reason is simple: the Chinese models are always released first, while the global versions usually take a few more months to arrive. In our review comment sections, we often see people asking whether the Chinese version will work properly in their country. Coincidentally, we have both the Chinese and global versions of the OnePlus 15 here. Using them as examples, I’ll show you exactly what the real differences are between the Chinese edition and the global edition.

Accessories

First of all, the size of the packaging alone already hints at a difference in included accessories. Inside the box of the Chinese OnePlus 15, you get a phone case, a 120W charger, and a cable. However, the global version only includes the cable and a stack of manuals.

Of course, not every global variant of every phone comes with fewer accessories. Usually, only the models sold in Europe and North America remove the charger. These regions have stricter ESG regulations that require smartphone companies to reduce carbon emissions as much as possible. So, for this European OnePlus 15, the lack of a charger and case is probably due to those regulations.

Software

The most obvious difference is that one phone runs OxygenOS while the other runs ColorOS. Anyone familiar with OnePlus knows that, aside from the home UI being closer to stock Android, most of the features and operation logic are basically the same. That said, as long as you’re outside of North America, you’ll find almost no difference. Meanwhile, the global version—just as the name suggests—can communicate normally almost anywhere. Whether you buy it in Europe or the Americas, you won’t run into issues.

Aside from network bands, there’s also the matter of eSIM. The Chinese OnePlus 15 doesn’t support eSIM, which is pretty inconvenient for users who already rely on it. The global version not only supports two nano-SIM cards but also two eSIM profiles. People who travel frequently for work or leisure will probably appreciate the global OnePlus 15 a lot more.

Battery

In general, Chinese and global versions of the same phone try to keep the hardware as identical as possible. It helps control production costs and avoids confusing consumers. OnePlus did a great job here—whether Chinese or global, every configuration of the OnePlus 15 is exactly the same. But if you’re buying a phone from another brand, there’s one thing you must pay attention to: the battery.

Because of certain European regulations, many brands make the battery slightly smaller on units not sold in China. For example, the vivo X300 sold in Europe, and the global versions of the POCO X7 series all have smaller batteries than their Chinese counterparts. So when I learned that every regional version of the OnePlus 15 still has the full 7300mAh battery, I was genuinely curious how they managed to get around those rules. In any case, you guys finally get to enjoy ultra-long battery life without compromise.

Warranty & Update Cycle

So what about the warranty? Can a Chinese phone be repaired under warranty in another country? Unfortunately, most brands—including OnePlus—require you to ship the device back to China for warranty repairs. Even if you’re willing to pay a local repair center, they may not want to take the risk. In this regard, the global version has a clear advantage.

The same applies to system maintenance. Global versions usually have longer software support cycles. For example, global OnePlus 15 users get 4 major OS updates and 6 years of security patches. But the security patch updates for the Chinese version lag behind the global version by one year. Some brands are even worse. They don’t even disclose the maintenance cycle for their Chinese models. If you bought the Chinese version, all you can do is hope they keep updating the system before your device eventually breaks.

Price

If you only compare official retail prices, the Chinese versions are always unbelievably cheaper. Even if you need a third-party site like GeekWills to help you buy and ship the device, the final cost is still far lower than the global version. Features

Now a couple of important notes. The pattern on these five cases managed to not cover the glyph, so you won’t miss any notifications. And particularly on the ASTRALEA, there are a few stars on the glyph, so it sort of lights up the stars when the glyph shines.

And in case you don’t know, the pattern is actually made by so-called IML tech, meaning it’s not printed on the surface, it’s inside the material itself, so it stays there forever. Even after a serious scratch, the pattern is still there.

And then the holes for the charging port, speaker, the key at the right side, and the flashlight, are all accurate.

There is also a metal frame for the camera module, to add protection for the cameras. And lastly, there is a lip at the front, so when you put your phone down like this, I am sure most of you would do that, then it protects your screen also.

It claims to be anti-yellowing, which can last for a long time.

Print quality from the G4780 is consistent with Canon’s reputation. Black text looks crisp and well-defined, and colour output is vibrant enough for charts, presentations and school projects. It is not a professional photo printer, but casual 4 by 6-inch photo prints come out clean and bright.

Print speeds are reasonable for an ink-tank system. In day-to-day use, it delivers around 11 images per minute in black and 6 images per minute in colour. These are not the fastest figures, but they are steady and reliable enough for office and home workloads. Auto duplex printing works smoothly and adds convenience for longer documents, even if it slows down the process a bit.

Ink efficiency and maintenance

The biggest strength of the G4780 is the ink economy. After several sets of documents and colour prints, the ink levels barely shifted, which is reassuring for anyone who prints regularly. Canon rates the bottles for up to 7600 pages in black and 8100 pages in colour using economy mode. While real-world results vary, the efficiency is clearly noticeable.

It helps that Canon includes full-capacity GI-71 bottles in the box rather than starter quantities. The user-replaceable maintenance cartridge is another practical touch, allowing routine upkeep without depending on service centres. For long-term users, this is a cost-saving feature that improves the printer’s life span.

Scanning, copying and overall workflow

The Auto Document Feeder turned out to be more useful than I initially expected. With a capacity of 35 sheets, it handles multi-page scans and copies with ease. I used it for contracts, old printouts, receipts and handwritten notes, and the feeder pulled pages cleanly without skewing or jamming. It is not very fast when copying in color, but the convenience of loading a batch and walking away far outweighs the speed.

The scanning quality is suitable for normal office work. The CIS scanner produces clear text and reasonably accurate colors at 600 by 1200 dpi. The ability to scan through both the flatbed and ADF means it covers everything from ID cards to long legal documents. I found the Canon PRINT app particularly helpful for scanning directly to my phone, especially when I needed to forward documents quickly.

Connectivity and printing convenience

Setting up the printer on Wi-Fi was simple and quick. The touchscreen makes the process easier because there is no guessing or trial-and-error with buttons. Once connected, the printer remained stable on the network.

Printing from mobile devices is smooth. The Canon PRINT app works reliably, and AirPrint and Mopria support ensure compatibility with both iOS and Android. Cloud printing through services like Google Drive also worked well. Printing from laptops is equally straightforward, and the drivers install without complications.

Direct Wireless mode is a surprisingly useful feature. It allows printing without a router, which is convenient when someone needs to print a document immediately without joining your home network.

Paper handling, noise and reliability

The rear tray supports a wide range of paper sizes, including A4, A5, Letter, Legal, various photo formats and even banner sheets up to 1200 mm in length. To test handling, I printed a long banner, and the printer managed it without any issues. For regular office tasks, the 100-sheet tray capacity is enough to avoid frequent refilling.

Noise levels are well managed. Quiet Mode makes the printer suitable for late-night use without disturbing others. Power consumption is also low, with the printer drawing only about 18W while operating.

Canon’s two-year or 30,000-print onsite warranty adds confidence to long-term use. The fact that print heads are included in the warranty is a reassuring addition.

Final thoughts

After using the Canon Pixma G4780 in a real home-office environment, it stands out as a dependable and economical multifunction printer. It does not aim for ultra-fast speeds or professional-grade photo output, but it delivers exactly what most home and small-office users need: reliable printing, useful scanning features, a genuinely helpful ADF, strong ink efficiency and seamless connectivity. There’s one thing I’ve always admired about iQOO: they consistently stick to what they believe is right, and they don’t change just to follow trends. You can see this clearly with the iQOO 15. It’s not called the 15 Pro, it’s not called Pro Max, and even the design hasn’t really changed much over the past few years.

This year, because many of its competitors are copying the iPhone, the originally unremarkable iQOO 15 has instead become something rare. And on top of that, iQOO’s long-time weakness — the camera — has also been improved. So overall, it makes perfect sense that the iQOO 15 is selling extremely well this year.

Design

The iQOO 15 we have here is the Legend White version, but this is not the best-looking one. The main featured color this year is called “Lingyun”, and depending on the viewing angle, you’ll see red ink-like patterns appear on the back. If you want a lighter phone, you can choose the black version instead. Its fiberglass back makes it thinner and lighter.

Regardless of which color you go for, the camera module still keeps the RGB light strip. However, the lighting is only faintly visible from the side, and during the day, it’s easy to miss that it’s even on. So if you rely on it as a notification indicator, you may end up missing important messages.

The vibration motor in the iQOO 15 is the 0916 type that can move along both the X and Y axes. The vibration strength is noticeably stronger than competing phones. And both the top and bottom speakers use 1115P drivers, giving you balanced stereo output. I’ll include a speaker test in the video, so you can listen for yourself.

Display

If you really like the display on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, then you should also like the one on the iQOO 15. It uses Samsung’s latest M14 panel, the same one used in the iPhone 17 series. The iQOO 15 even removes the polarizer layer, which increases brightness.

That small hole at the top of the frame isn’t an IR emitter — the IR emitter has been moved next to the flash. That hole is actually an additional ambient light sensor. So in total, the iQOO 15 has three ambient light sensors. This allows the phone to adjust screen brightness faster and more accurately in different environments.

Of course, there are drawbacks. A $590 phone will always have some compromises, like the slightly thicker bottom bezel, similar to the K90 Pro Max.

And because there’s no polarizer layer, the black levels aren’t as deep. However, iQOO solved this with a simple approach: the pre-installed screen protector has an AR coating. And visually, it works very similarly to the AR coating on the iPhone 17 series, significantly reducing contrast loss caused by reflections.

Performance

Although iQOO has never called itself a “gaming phone,” aside from not having trigger bottoms, it is basically a gaming phone. To differentiate itself from the vivo X300 series, the iQOO 15 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 processor, and the performance tuning is very aggressive.

But unlike the also-aggressive Redmi K90 Pro Max, the iQOO 15 maintains a bit of restraint. Both phones begin thermal throttling around the 10-minute mark, but the iQOO 15 brings down performance gradually, with the framerate eventually stabilizing around 45 FPS. Thanks to the single-layer motherboard design and the extremely large vapor chamber, the iQOO 15 keeps temperature and power consumption at reasonable levels.

So, does the Q3 gaming chip actually help? Yes. While frame interpolation can’t be enabled at the highest resolution in Honkai: Star Rail, super-resolution can be turned on at high graphics settings, and the clarity is enough for my needs. With the Q3 assisting, the gaming experience is smoother and more power-efficient.

However, since the Redmi K90 Pro Max recently improved the performance of its D2 chip, its power efficiency has become incredibly good. So unfortunately, the Q3 is only the second-strongest display chip we’ve tested.

But the Q3 has one advantage the D2 doesn’t: ray tracing. With ray tracing on, the most noticeable difference is that reflections on surfaces like floors become more realistic. Only two games currently support this, but having it is still better than nothing.

Camera

The main camera upgrade this time is in the telephoto lens. The IMX882 is an excellent telephoto sensor — not only better than the telephoto camera in another phone also named “15”, but even better than the telephoto systems on some Pro Max models.

The clarity is great: every hair is captured clearly. Overall, I would rate this telephoto camera highly, but the minimum focusing distance is a bit long. If your subject is within one meter, the phone will switch to shooting with a crop from the main camera instead.

The main and ultra-wide cameras are the same as on the iQOO 13. The only thing I think needs adjustment is that the default Vivid mode tends to overexpose the image. I understand why—more exposure makes the image look more eye-catching—but sometimes it becomes too bright.

If you switch to the “Texture” mode, this issue is solved, and the photos look more cinematic. I recommend using that mode for everyday photography.

The front camera supports 4K 60fps recording, but the sensor is quite small, so even here indoors, you can already see a drop in image quality. The rear video recording performance is average. Compared to more expensive flagships, yes, it’s slightly weaker, but it’s still acceptable.

Battery

The iQOO 15 has a 7000mAh battery. Although that’s large, it’s not necessarily an advantage against competitors. However, despite the higher resolution display, the battery life is still competitive, and I’m satisfied.

The wired charging is 100W. Whether in the first 20 minutes or the final charging phase, it performs almost exactly the same as the K90 Pro Max. But the wireless charging is only 40W, and third-party PPS chargers can only trigger 45W. The iQOO 15 is powerful enough, but in the charging category, Redmi and Xiaomi are still unbeatable.

The iQOO 15 is very similar to OPPO’s Find X9 series. I’m not talking about the appearance, but about their overall design philosophy: to make a phone with as few weaknesses as possible. After finishing this review, I feel that the most balanced phone this year is the iQOO 15. Compared to the more expensive Find X9 series, even the pricing is balanced. And with a 2K 144Hz Samsung M14 display, it’s already more than enough.
