OnePlus Ace 3V leak suggests 5500mAh battery, Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC at helm

OnePlus had a strong presence in the Chinese market last year with its Ace-branded phones. The trend looks to continue, with the upcoming OnePlus Ace 3V and Ace 3 Pro.

A recent leak suggests the Ace 3V could arrive in March, potentially sporting the upcoming Snapdragon 7 Gen series chipset.

The leak comes from well-known tipster Digital Chat Station who shared that the upcoming OnePlus Ace 3V will be powered by a chipset model numbered SM7675.

OnePlus Ace 3V leak

The SM7675 is rumored to be the upcoming Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 which is said to match the performance of the Snapdragon 8-series SoCs. Reportedly, it will feature the same Cortex-X4 primary core as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 which would certainly give it an edge in terms of performance. The chip will be paired with up to 16GB of RAM.

Additionally, the leak suggests that the OnePlus Ace 3V will feature a flat OLED panel boasting a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. All this will be backed by a big 5,500mAh battery with 100W rapid charging.

Moving on from DCS, another leak from last month revealed that the device will sport a plastic frame and a glass back. There’s also speculation about the possibility of both flat and curved-edge screen variants.

While last year’s Ace 2V remained exclusive to China, it was rebranded globally as the OnePlus Nord 3. Therefore, it’s possible that the Ace 3V might be rebranded as the OnePlus Nord 4 or Nord 5 for global markets.

As of now, this is all we know about the upcoming OnePlus Ace 3V smartphone. We’ll keep you updated on any new developments regarding these smartphones.

TCL unveils a whopping 7-phone TCL 50 lineup at MWC

TCL, the Chinese electronics manufacturer, has broadened its smartphone range with the introduction of the 50 Series lineup. First unveiled at CES 2024, TCL shared more details about these devices at MWC Barcelona, including their pricing and availability.

TCL 50 Series Smartphones

TCL 50 series specifications

A notable feature of the 50 Series is the inclusion of TCL’s NXTPAPER display technology in two models: the TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G and the TCL 50 XE NXTPAPER 5G.

TCL claims this technology brings the benefits of e-ink displays, known for their paper-like quality and reduced glare, to standard smartphone screens. This aims to minimize eye strain for users.

In addition to the NXTPAPER models, the TCL 50 Series includes five other smartphones— TCL 50 XL 5G, 50 XE 5G, 50 5G, 50 SE 5G, and the budget-friendly TCL 50 LE 5G.

The TCL 50 XL 5G and 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G are essentially the same smartphones, differing only in the inclusion of NXTPAPER technology. They offer expansive 6.8-inch displays with 120Hz refresh rates for smooth visuals, powered by the MediaTek 23E+ chipset and featuring a 50MP main camera in their triple-lens setup.

Similarly, the TCL 50 XE 5G and TCL 50 XE NXTPAPER 5G follow a similar pattern, featuring a 6.6-inch 90Hz display with a hole-punch cutout for the front camera. These models utilize the MediaTek 6835 23E+ chipset and include a 50MP main camera paired with a 5MP ultrawide lens.

While the 50 5G sacrifices camera quality for affordability, the 50 SE targets entertainment enthusiasts with its large screen, 12GB of RAM, and powerful dual speakers. For those seeking budget options, the 50 LE offers a slightly smaller display, less RAM, and a smaller battery compared to other models.

Price

In terms of pricing, TCL aims to position the TCL 50 LE 5G as a super-budget option at around $100. The TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G will be priced under $229, while the non-NXTPAPER TCL 50 XL 5G will remain under $169.

Similarly, the standard TCL 50 XE 5G will be offered under $149, and the NXTPAPER version will be priced under $199.

The standard TCL 50 XL 5G is set to arrive at Metro by T-Mobile in Q2 2024, with the NXTPAPER model launching on TCL’s website in Q3 2024. Both TCL 50 XE variants are also scheduled to launch in Q3 2024.

Infinix Showcases Coolmax Prototype Cooling Technology for Gaming Smartphones

With gaming phones slowly becoming more mainstream day by day, Infinix is coming forward with its prototype cooling technology named CoolMax, aimed at keeping gaming phones chill even under the stress of heavy use.

Coolmax reduced the chipset’s temperature by a significant 10 degrees Celsius

Integrated into a concept gaming device, CoolMax has shown impressive results by reducing the chipset‘s temperature by a notable 10°C. It’s an internal system pairing a thermo-electric cooler with a fan, directly over the chipset, separated only by thermal paste—this setup bypasses the inefficiency of external coolers.

Infinix Coolmax

The heart of the prototype is MediaTek‘s Dimensity 9300 processor, boasting four powerhouse Cortex-X4 cores, leading the device to achieve a groundbreaking AnTuTu benchmark score of over 2.2 million. This feat is supported by an AI platform that smartly distributes tasks across the CPU cores, ensuring optimal performance. However, keep in mind that the device is a prototype and these numbers are not based on real-world scenarios.

Unlike other gaming phones that rely solely on air cooling, CoolMax’s Peltier effect introduces a cooler module that drops temperatures beyond what simple air circulation can achieve. This means that gamers can expect better performance without the device overheating.

In addition to groundbreaking cooling, the concept phone touts a Pixelworks visual processor to assist the GPU, promising display refresh rates up to 180Hz for FHD+ and 144Hz for QHD+ resolutions, setting a new standard for gaming displays. While Infinix plans to launch a gaming phone later in 2024, the specifics are still under wraps, but expectations are high given the potential seen in this concept.

Built with Samsung’s latest Gen 3 QD-OLED panel technology, the display promises sharp visuals and accurate colors, suitable for both hardcore gamers and professionals.

MSI MPG 271QRX

The monitor boasts a rapid 0.03ms response time and comes with HDR capabilities, offering true blacks and high contrast for immersive gaming experiences. Although the peak brightness for HDR content is not listed, it is VESA’s DisplayHDR 400 True Black certified.

To prevent the common OLED issue of burn-in, MSI has introduced graphene film with a custom heatsink to manage heat and prolong the monitor’s life. Additional features include ‘boundary protection’ to reduce image retention risk and ‘taskbar detection’ to prevent burn-in from static screen elements.

Connectivity options include DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, USB Type-C, and more, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices. The HDMI 2.1 ports support advanced features like 4K at 120Hz, VRR, and ALLM, and the monitor also offers KVM functionality for controlling multiple devices with one set of peripherals.

In the US, the MPG271QRX QD-OLED is priced competitively at $799.99, but costs are higher in the UK and Eurozone at £999.99 and €999.99, respectively. The monitor will start shipping in the US soon, with the UK release set for April 23.

In related news, a 32″ variant of MSI’s QD-OLED monitor is also up for pre-order in the US as well as across Europe. It has a 4K resolution, along with a 240Hz refresh rate.
