Aim Assist with Mouse & Keyboard will Now Shut Down your Call of Duty Game

In a decisive (yet extremely important) move to ensure fair play, Activision has announced a significant update to its anti-cheat technology, Ricochet, for the Call of Duty series. The update specifically targets players who use aim assist with a mouse and keyboard setup, a practice considered unfair by many in the gaming community.

Aim assist gives keyboard and mouse players an unfair advantage

Aim assist, traditionally a feature to help console players using controllers, has become a contentious issue in competitive gaming. It helps in maintaining accuracy and targeting, but when combined with the precision of a mouse and keyboard, it gives players an unfair advantage. In response, Activision’s Ricochet will now automatically shut down the game if it detects the use of aim assist by mouse and keyboard players. This applies to titles like Modern Warfare 3, Modern Warfare 2, and Warzone.

Call of Duty Warzone Hackers

This bold step is part of a larger effort by Activision to maintain a level playing field in its games. The use of unauthorized third-party hardware like XIM and Cronus Zen, which has allowed players to exploit aim assist while using a mouse and keyboard, has been a longstanding issue. Previously, Activision had warned of bans for repeat offenders using such devices. This new measure aims to combat the increasing use of software like reWASD, which can create a virtual controller setup, tricking the game into enabling aim assist for mouse and keyboard players.

Cheating in video games undermines the essence of fair play and competition, the core values that make gaming an enjoyable and rewarding experience. It not only gives cheaters an unfair advantage but also spoils the experience for other players who are playing by the rules. This practice disrupts the balance and integrity of the game, leading to frustration and a diminished sense of accomplishment for all involved. Cheating erodes the trust and community spirit essential for the healthy, competitive environment that games are designed to foster, ultimately detracting from the joy and satisfaction that come from genuine skill and achievement. As Call of Duty prepares to launch its Season 1 Reloaded update, this development signals a strong commitment by Activision to uphold competitive integrity.

Decathlon’s Latest E-Bike Weighs 14 Kilograms and has a 62 Mile/100 Km Range

Decathlon, a renowned French sports retailer, is reshaping the e-bike landscape with its latest offering: the Van Ryself E-EDR AF. This model is not just another addition to their impressive e-bike lineup; it’s a standout as their first ultra-lightweight electric road bike. Weighing a mere 14 kilograms (31 pounds), the E-EDR AF breaks new ground in combining lightness with power, a feat not commonly seen in electric bikes, especially those in its price range.

The bike is crafted from aluminum and costs merely $3,000

The secret to its lightness lies in its construction. Crafted from aluminum and equipped with carefully selected components, the E-EDR AF maintains a weight that rivals traditional bikes while embracing the advantages of electric assistance. This clever blend of technology and design results in a bike that looks and feels like a standard road bike, hiding its electric nature with a seamless design.

Decathlon

The Van Ryself E-EDR AF is powered by a compact Mahle X35 motor, supported by a 250-watt-hour battery neatly integrated into the frame. This setup not only contributes to the bike’s sleek appearance but also offers an impressive range of about 62 miles per charge, though this will vary based on different riding conditions.

Premium features like a carbon fork, hydraulic disc brakes, and an intuitive control unit elevate the E-EDR AF’s status in the e-bike world. Additionally, it boasts a Sram Apex AXS electronic drivetrain with 12 gears, renowned for its quick, responsive shifting and a streamlined look thanks to its wireless design.

But perhaps the most compelling aspect of the Van Ryself E-EDR AF is its affordability. While high-end e-road bikes can cost upwards of $10,000, Decathlon’s model offers an experience close to these premium bikes but at a significantly lower price point – around $3,059 USD. This price-performance ratio makes the E-EDR AF a noteworthy option for cycling enthusiasts looking for quality without breaking the bank.

Xiaomi has started seeding its new HyperOS to compatible devices in the global markets. Apple Greenlights External Payment Links for U.S. Developers

Apple and Epic Games finished their fight, and Tim Cook didn’t get what he wanted. As you know, in 2021, the US court ruled that app developers could redirect users to third-party payment platforms to avoid paying a 30% commission to Apple. The company Apple appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, but today, the court rejected the appeal, putting an end to Apple’s tax. Here are the details…

Developers Now Permitted External Payment Links in the U.S.

Apple makes a lot of money from the App Store. They get 30% of the money when people buy things from apps. This policy has sparked criticism from developers who argue that it leads to revenue losses and excessive profits for Apple. Despite these concerns, Apple is sticking to keeping its money. However, a recent court rules allows developers to link to alternative payment platforms, provided the app continues to offer payments through Apple’s in-app payment system.

Certainly, this is great news for major companies like Epic Games, Netflix, and Spotify. Large-scale enterprises can easily establish an independent and reliable payment system. However, smaller developers have no choice but to rely on Apple or trust third-party platforms where they may incur lower but still high commissions.

Apple Vision Pro May Release Outside The US Market Before WWDC 2024: Kuo

Last week Apple announced that the Vision Pro will be up for pre-orders starting January 19. The shipments will commence from February 2. It will also be available at the brand’s official store at the same time. The Cupertino-based tech giant has not announced the release of its mixed-reality headset outside the US. Now, notable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared some details about the Vision Pro’s availability outside the country.

Apple Vision Pro’s release outside the US tipped

Kuo reports that Apple could launch the Vision Pro in the non-US markets before WWDC 2024. The company’s annual developer conference takes place in the first week of June. He adds that a release prior to the event would be beneficial for promoting the global development ecosystem of visionOS.

Additionally, the reason for not releasing the Vision Pro outside the US yet is attributed to three reasons. The first one is the limited initial supply of the mixed-reality headset. The second reason is that the sales process of the mixed reality headset go smoothly in the US. Lastly, Vision Pro’s release in non-US markets is due to the time needed to modify the algorithms to comply with the regulations in other countries.

Kuo says that the sooner the Apple Vision Pro will arrive in more countries the sooner aforementioned issues are resolved.

In the US, the Apple Vision Pro will be bundled with a Solo Knit Band and Dual Loop Band. There is also a Light Seal, two Light Seal Cushions, and an Apple Vision Pro Cover for the front of the device. The mixed-reality headset will come with a polishing cloth, a battery, a USB-C cable, and a USB-C adapter.

Samsung Display starts production of iPad Pro’s OLED panel this week

The news was shared in a report from TheElec. In our previous report, we talked about how LG Display was expected to kick off OLED iPad Pro display production in February 2024. But the latest report from Korea claims that LG is already manufacturing OLED displays for the next gen Apple iPad Pro. It is reportedly making 13-inch displays (12.9-inch as per previous reports) while the 11-inch OLED panels could be coming to the production line soon as well.

For those unaware, the Cupertino based giant is working on two new iPad Air and two new OLED iPad Pro models in the second quarter of this year. LG isn’t the sole supplier of the OLED panels as Samsung Display is also expected to start OLED production for these iPad Pros later this week. The fresh report adds that LG Display will focus on 13-inch OLED panels, while Samsung Display will primarily make 11-inch variants.

Unfortunately, finer details regarding these iPads like their pricing are still at large. But based on what we know so far, the new iPad Pros will likely be equipped with the Apple M3 processor. This could result in a slight hike in price tag over its predecessor. New accessories may be offered as well, like a new Magic Keyboard and Pencil accessories. This is all the information we have at the moment, so stick around for more updates.
