iPhone 15 Pro Max Meltdown Causes Damage and Burns

A Reddit user named NoisilyMarvellous recently shared the dangers of using cheap accessories with a post. He revealed how connecting his recently purchased iPhone 15 Pro Max to the charger resulted in the cable melting, causing burns both to his hand and the phone. Upon careful examination of the image, the first noticeable detail was that the charging cable used was not an original Apple product.

Reddit user “I knew the iPhone 15 Pro Max gets hot, but a month into use mine got so hot while charging overnight that it literally left a burn on my finger. When I took the charger off, it had melted some of the plastic, “left burn marks on the body and stuck the metal part of the USB-C port into the phone,” he said.

It is important to note that using accessories from brands different than Apple won’t damage your phone. For example, it’s much more sensible to use products from official partners that have passed the company’s quality control tests. However, using a product from an unknown brand just because it’s cheap can lead to serious consequences, much like what happened to NoisilyMarvellous and their $1000+ phone.

The application window for the Open Beta Test is limited, running from December 25 to December 28. During this period, interested users must submit their applications, ensuring their OPPO A58 is updated to version CPH2577_14.0.0.80(EX01).

The new Doogee offering is possibly designed for beginners and will take over from the Doogee T20 tablet launched in December 2022. It features a 10.4-inch screen and a four-speaker setup. Media reports indicate that the T20E has been under development for a while.

Features

The Doogee T20E is expected to be competitively priced to attract customers looking for a tablet for playing media or web browsing. The display has a resolution of 1200 x 2000 pixels but lacks Widevine certification. This means that certain content from some streaming platforms like Netflix may not play at full resolution. The Doogee T20E Android tablet is powered by the Unisoc Tiger T616 with two Cortex A75 and six Cortex A55 cores and a Mali-G57 MP1 GPU.

The T20E tablet has dimensions of 245.8 x 155.6 x 7.9 mm and weighs 478 grams. It offers up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable internal storage. The storage can only be expanded if you do not use the second SIM module in the tablet. The T20E has a permanently installed 8,300mAh battery that can be rapidly charged with up to 18W power. The battery performance optics are lacking for the tablet at this time. It is also unclear what version of Android the tablet will debut with.

Doogee has continued to carve a niche for itself as a manufacturer of rugged smartphones and it is expected that the T20E should come with some degree of ruggedness. There are still a few things about the Android tablet that are lacking at this time.

Doogee has not released the pricing and availability information for the tablet, nor has it provided the release date. Most Doogee products have been sold via Amazon and expectedly, the T20E Android tablet should also be available on Amazon.

Following a couple of stable updates this month, the OnePlus 9RT is finally receiving the OxygenOS 14 stable update. In the morning, the smartphone received a minor bug fix update in a second firmware update for this month. Well, the stable OxygenOS 14 stable udapte is currently rolling out to the closed beta and open beta participants. The broader rollout will take place after a few days for normal users.

The firmware version MT2111_14.0.0.211 (EX01) is rolling out to the OnePlus 9RT India variants. It will be made available in the coming days for other regions. However, details about the size are not yet available. However, the size will vary depending on whether you are a beta user or a normal user.

As per past rumors, the Huawei Nova 12 Pro and Ultra are expected to pack similar to each other. These include a 6.78-inch curved OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a 60MP + 8MP dual front camera, and a 50MP OIS-enabled triple rear camera setup. Both phones will reportedly come with support for two-way satellite communication technology. Additionally, the devices will also support 100W fast charging.

Meanwhile, the Huawei Nova 12 Lite or Vitality Edition will feature an OLED display with an integrated fingerprint scanner. It will have a 60MP front camera and a 50MP rear sensor. The device is tipped to pack 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

As promised, Nothing has started deploying the stable Nothing OS 2.5 update based on Android 14 for Phone (2) devices. Following the announcement earlier this week, reports on social media platforms like X/Twitter indicate several users have already received the update.

The update, approximately 1.13GB in size, delivers an incremental upgrade from Android 13 to 14 for Phone (2) users. To check for the update, head to Settings > System and System Update.

The big changes in the Nothing OS 2.5 include new widgets and more customization options for the home and lock screens. The company’s signature Glyph interface also gets a major update as now you get direct access to the Glyph timer from the lock screen and the Glyph Time now supports the presets for quick duration settings. iQOO is all set to launch its Neo 9 series of smartphones in the Chinese market on December 27th, and they’re not coming alone – the company is also introducing the new iQOO Watch and iQOO TWS 1e earbuds.

For the past two weeks, iQOO has been teasing us with gradual reveals of specifications and official images of these upcoming products, including the iQOO Watch. The latest teaser shows us a complete front view of the iQOO Watch, giving us a good look at its overall design. They’re also letting us in on the various strap options the watch will come with, including silicone, leather, and woven straps. We can expect these straps to come in a range of colors to cater to different tastes.

iQOO Watch Specifications (Rumored)

Coming to the specs, the smartwatch will feature a 3D curved glass dial with always-on display (AOD) feature. The watch showcases various watch faces, including an outer space-themed design, a classic watch appearance, and a sporty watch face.

The watch is exceptionally lightweight at only 36 grams, ensuring user comfort. Additionally, its watchband design allows for effortless installation and automatic dial matching. The watch also features a crown that supports both rotation and button presses for intuitive navigation.

Huawei‘s new open-back FreeClip earbuds (review), recently launched globally, are receiving their first software update. This update, weighing in at just 794KB, focuses on improving Bluetooth connectivity and stability.

The changelog highlights enhanced Bluetooth performance, meaning you can expect fewer dropped connections and a smoother listening experience. Huawei hasn’t detailed any other changes, but there might be some hidden optimizations tucked away in the firmware.

To update your FreeClips earphones, simply open the Huawei Smart AI Life app and navigate to the Device section. If the update is available, you’ll see it listed in the settings. Tap to download and install, and your earbuds will be up-to-date in no time.

To recap, Huawei FreeClip are company’s first open-ear style earphones that don’t require users to discern between left and right ears. It comes in a unique two-part structure consisting of a comfort bean (rear portion) and an acoustic ball (speaker) joined in by a C-bridge design.

The earbuds are also pretty lightweight at just 5.6 grams per bud and are reversible meaning you don’t need to determine which bud fits in which ear. Huawei says the onboard sensors determine which bud is in which ear and tune it accordingly.

As with other open-ear earphones, the FreeClip doesn’t sit up against your ear canal, so you will pretty much be hearing outside-world noises, no matter what.

You can connect these buds to two devices simultaneously, offering users flexibility in terms of devices. These are also IP54 dust and water-resistant and offer a battery life of up to 32 hours. They also support fast charging allowing for 3 hours of listening time with just 10 minutes of charge.
