The Lucid Air can Charge Other EVs with the New ‘RangeXchange’ Feature

Lucid Motors is pushing the envelope with its latest innovation—allowing Lucid Air owners to share their car’s battery power with other EVs. The newly introduced “RangeXchange” feature is a glimpse into a more cooperative future for EVs.

The feature was introduced after a simple OTA update

RangeXchange is a vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging system that enables Lucid Airs to transfer electricity to other electric cars, regardless of the manufacturer, after a simple over-the-air software update. This capability turns the Lucid Air into a mobile charging station capable of delivering enough power for an extra 24 to 40 miles of range to another EV in about an hour.

Electric

This system relies on Lucid’s proprietary Wunderbox, a bi-directional charger that until now, was only used for receiving power. With RangeXchange, it steps up to share power as well. The innovation doesn’t stop at vehicle-to-vehicle services; Lucid hints at future uses like powering your home or even feeding energy back into the grid.

While the concept of sharing power between EVs is not entirely new, Lucid’s move brings it into the realm of practicality for everyday users. It’s a significant step towards addressing range anxiety and the dependence on charging stations, though the reality is that many EV owners might not frequently use it due to the availability of robust charging networks.

Yet, the idea of being able to help out another EV driver in a pinch, or even use your car as a backup power source, adds an extra layer of security and versatility to owning an EV. Lucid Air owners will soon be able to buy the RangeXchange adapter, turning their cars into potential lifelines for other EVs on the road, proving that sometimes, sharing really is caring—especially when it comes to the future of sustainable transportation.

Rotwild’s New Electric Bike, R.R275 X has a Carbon Fiber Frame and Pedal Assist

In the e-bike scene, Germany’s Rotwild has been synonymous with high-performance. Their latest launch, the R.R275 X, is a nod to Italian racing finesse, wrapped in German engineering. Here’s a glimpse into what makes this electric gravel bike a noteworthy contender in the e-bike world.

The bike has 250 watts of power output

The R.R275 X isn’t just another addition to Rotwild’s range—it’s their debut in the electric gravel bike market, sitting proudly alongside their electric mountain bikes. But don’t let its position fool you; this bike is no underperformer. It boasts top-tier components, including a carbon fiber frame that’s not only light but sturdy, ensuring riders can zip through trails with ease. The bike’s design smartly integrates the motor, battery, and controller, achieving a balance that promises a steady ride.

Electric

For those who prioritize safety along with performance, Rotwild has incorporated Supernova LED lights directly into the bike’s stem and frame, enhancing visibility on the road.

The heart of the R.R275 X’s performance is the TQ Harmonic Pin Rig HPR50 motor. Though it outputs a modest 250 watts, it trades brute force for finesse, offering riders an intuitive pedal assist that mimics the experience of natural biking. This motor is a popular choice among the elite electric road and gravel bikes for its featherweight build and seamless pedal assist.

Rotwild plans to offer two versions of this machine. The Ultra model, which features stylish carbon fiber five-spoke wheels, will set buyers back about $12,800. The Pro model is somewhat easier on the wallet at roughly $9,600 but still exudes premium quality.

While Rotwild has kept the exact release date under wraps, they’ve confirmed that the R.R275 X is already in production. It will be available in various sizes to accommodate a range of riders, ensuring that mostly everyone can experience this blend of Italian-inspired design and German precision.

Nintendo dismisses rumors of a dual-screen Switch 2

Nintendo has been the subject of intense speculation regarding their next gaming console, reportedly named the Switch 2. Recent rumors, fueled by a patent filing, have suggested that the company may be working on a dual-screen device reminiscent of the iconic 3DS. This device, as described in the patent, could potentially split into two for a multiplayer gaming experience, offering a unique blend of handheld flexibility and the power of traditional console gaming.

Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo Counters Claims: No Switch 2 Details Shared with Activision Blizzard, Dual-Screen Design Denied

However, Nintendo’s President Shuntaro Furukawa, has strongly denied these dual-screen design rumors. In a private earnings call, he dismissed the circulating reports as “inaccurate” and distanced the future console from the design features of the now-discontinued 3DS.

Adding to the intrigue, documents related to the Microsoft Activision Blizzard FTC lawsuit suggested that Activision Blizzard had access to detailed specifications of the upcoming console. Nintendo has, nonetheless, refuted this claim, asserting that no such information has been shared with Activision Blizzard or any other company.

What piques the interest of gamers and industry observers is the nature of the patent Nintendo has filed. While not every patent leads to a consumer product, the act of filing one indicates a potential to implement it in future products.

Official announcements regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 are currently scarce, but industry rumors suggest that development kits have been distributed to select partners, and a potential launch is anticipated in the second half of 2024.

The console is rumored to support NVIDIA’s DLSS 3.5 technology, potentially offering enhanced graphics, including ray tracing, setting it apart from the PS5 and Xbox Series X. While backward compatibility and advanced machine-learning capabilities are also speculated, no official confirmation has been provided.

Seeing Through the Illusion: CT Scans Uncover the Reality Behind Fake AirPods Pro 2

If you’re an iPhone user looking for wireless earphones, you’ve probably considered the AirPods Pro 2 model. However, upon seeing its price of $249, you might have also thought about more affordable alternatives. Maybe you’ve even bought imitation AirPods Pro 2, thinking there’s no real difference. But appearances can be deceiving. A CT scan conducted on fake AirPods reveals just how misleading and inferior they can be.

CT Scans Expose the True Nature of Fake AirPods Pro 2

Fake AirPods are so well-made that they can fool even Apple devices, such as iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks. This has even led to people being scammed into buying fake AirPods, thinking they are real. A CT scan by the research team Lumafield reveals the stark difference between real and fake AirPods. The counterfeit AirPods are made with cheap materials and components, and they lack the sophisticated technology of the real ones.

Upon examining the insides of both earphones, it became evident that the fake AirPods Pro 2 contain fewer components than the authentic ones. As seen in the images accompanying our report, the original earphones are densely packed, while the imitations have much more empty space inside. The reason for this is, of course, the absence of the same technologies. Fake products lack the necessary components for functions like active noise cancellation. They only feature a subpar microphone, a mini “speaker” for transmitting sound, and a battery.

To emphasize once again, the fact that fake AirPods Pro 2 models look like the real deal changes nothing. Continuously using these products with subpar batteries could even lead to serious health issues. Unfortunately, despite all this information, people worldwide continue to purchase these earphones.

Samsung Aims to Break Language Barriers with Galaxy S24’s AI Feature

Samsung is gearing up to launch its next flagship smartphone series, the Galaxy S24, on January 17, 2024. In the lead-up to the launch, the company has been teasing a number of new features that will be included in the new phones. One of the most exciting features is real-time speech translation. This feature will use artificial intelligence to translate phone calls in real time, allowing users to communicate with people who speak different languages. Here are the details…

Samsung Galaxy S24 Will Be Able to Translate Calls Instantly to Another Language

Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are becoming increasingly widespread and integrated into every aspect of our lives. The process that began with ChatGPT, Bard, and Bing AI is now continuing on our smartphones. According to reports, Samsung will offer a new AI-powered translation feature on the Galaxy S24 models. This feature will provide real-time translation during phone calls.

Unfortunately, it is not yet clear exactly how the feature will work. However, it is certainly exciting. The most important point is that it could really boost the company’s sales. The feature, which is expected to appeal particularly to the business world, could strengthen communication between the Far East, where English is not widely spoken, and the rest of the world.

Of course, the idea of anyone from China being able to speak easily with your relatives in the village is quite appealing. However, it is worth remembering that the phone is still a long way off from being released and that some features may change by then. Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Expected Specifications:

Apple Watch Ultra’s fall detection saves diabetic man’s life in Las Vegas

The Apple Watch Ultra‘s fall detection feature recently played a crucial role in saving the life of a diabetic man in Las Vegas. Josh Furman, a 40-year-old resident, fell unconscious due to low blood sugar, and his smartwatch automatically dialed 911, ultimately leading to his rescue.

Apple Watch Ultra’s Heroic Role in Saving a Diabetic Man’s Life

When Furman collapsed, his Apple Watch Ultra detected the fall and initiated a call to emergency services. Although he couldn’t communicate clearly with the 911 operator, his watch shared his location, aiding the responders in reaching him promptly. Additionally, the watch sent messages to his emergency contacts, enabling Furman’s mother to convey his medical condition to the emergency services team.

Furman’s case highlights the importance of customizing smartwatch settings. He had activated the fall detection feature, which is typically off by default for users under 55. This feature is primarily designed for use during physical activities, but Furman’s decision to keep it always on proved to be a life-saving choice. He emphasized the significance of understanding and utilizing the available features, stating that without his watch’s fall detection feature, the outcome might have been very different.

The fall detection feature on compatible Apple Watch models functions by lightly tapping the wrist, emitting an alarm sound, and displaying a notification if it detects a significant fall. Users have the option to either contact emergency services or dismiss the notification. If the watch detects a lack of movement for approximately one minute, it will automatically dial emergency services, sharing the user’s location with emergency contacts.

While the Apple Watch cannot directly track blood sugar levels, it can still be a valuable tool in emergencies, as demonstrated in Furman’s case. This story serves as a reminder of the potential life-saving capabilities of wearable technology when properly utilized.
