Lenovo’s 2023 ThinkPad X1 Carbon and Nano Laptops Launching on May 18th

Lenovo has released a teaser for the new 2023 ThinkPad X1 series, featuring two exciting models: the ThinkPad X1 Carbon and X1 Nano. While the video doesn’t reveal many specifics, it gives us a glimpse of the design of the upcoming laptops. Interestingly, there isn’t anything particularly new here. Lenovo sticks to the familiar ThinkPad design, maintaining its iconic appearance. Despite modern preferences like thin bezels, if you’ve used a ThinkPad model in the past five years, you won’t notice much difference. So, what specs will these laptop models have?

Although we don’t have details about every model, we do have some information about the X1 Carbon. The 2023 Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon will come equipped with Intel’s 13th generation Core i5 and i7 processors and feature onboard LPDDR5 memory. Weighing approximately 1.12 kg, this laptop promises portability without sacrificing power. Lenovo’s new X1 Carbon will boast a 1080p f/2.0 aperture front-facing camera, a quad-microphone array, and a variety of ports, including HDMI, dual USB-A, and dual USB-C.

The laptop’s carbon fiber body design ensures both a lightweight build and robust durability. Moreover, the sleek black design adds a touch of versatility and mystery to the ThinkPad X1 Carbon 2023. Additionally, the laptop’s back is fitted with a power connector, HDMI, and two USB-C ports. This design, unlike previous models with side-placed ports, aims to provide an even better user experience.

These regions will Possibly have to deal with Exynos Galaxy S24

Samsung fans were happy that the company finally ditched the controversial Exynos chipsets and sided with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC for all Galaxy S23 models. However, their happiness was short-lived, as rumors began circulating that Samsung was developing a new chipset, the Exynos 2400, which would likely power next year’s flagship lineup. In the latest development, a tipster has revealed the regions where the Exynos Galaxy S24 will be available.

Exynos 2400 Could be the SoC Powering some Galaxy S24 models

Samsung has a history of using both Exynos and Qualcomm chips in its S series models, but until now it was unclear which regions would receive the Exynos-powered Galaxy S24. That has changed with the latest tip from @Tech_Reve, who claims that Samsung may offer the Galaxy S24 with the Exynos 2400 processor in European and Southeast Asian countries. Whereas consumers in America will get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-equipped models.

Samsung-Exynos

Qualcomm chips usually offer better performance and efficiency than the Exynos ones, so this news will likely cause mixed emotions among readers. But from what we’ve heard so far, the Exynos 2400 is going to be a promising processor with a 10 cores architecture. It is expected to include one Cortex-X4 clocked at 3.1 GHz, two Cortex-A720 cores at 2.9 GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores running at 2.6 GHz, and four Cortex-A520 cores operating at 1.8 GHz.

It appears highly likely that Samsung will once again utilize Exynos chipsets in the upcoming Galaxy S24. This speculation gained strength following comments made by Hyeokman Kwon, Vice President of the DS Division at Samsung LSI, during the company’s Q1 2023 earnings call. Kwon revealed Samsung’s intention to reintroduce its proprietary Exynos chipset to its flagship smartphones, particularly the Galaxy S series.

iPhone 14 Ratings Suffer: The Best and Worst iPhones in History Revealed

Smartphone prices continue to rise. In the past, flagship phones cost around $600-700, but now they exceed $1000. While inflation contributes to this increase, the primary reason is the constant advancement of technical features. This trend affects user expectations, with some customers who spend a lot on a phone occasionally feeling disappointed with their devices. A recent study by PerfectRec unveiled surprising insights into user satisfaction ratings for Apple’s iPhone 14. Here are the details…

Lowest- and highest-rated iPhones of all time

The iPhone 14 series undoubtedly frequently makes headlines for its features as well as its price. But do these devices, considered expensive even in high purchasing power regions like North America and Europe, satisfy their users? A recent study has revealed surprising insights into the user satisfaction ratings of the iPhone 14 series.

The study analyzed over 600,000 user-generated Google reviews for iPhones from the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 14. While Apple’s Q2 earnings call reported a 99% satisfaction rate for the iPhone 14 family, this new study showed a significant drop in the proportion of five-star ratings for the base iPhone model. The study found that five-star ratings for the iPhone 14 base model dropped by 8 percentage points from the previous year’s iPhone 13, which saw a high of 80% five-star reviews.

This is the largest decline in over a decade, with the only other notable drop being a 4% decrease between the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5. The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max also saw a drop in five-star ratings, with both models receiving 76% and 80% respectively, marking an 8% and 6% decline from their iPhone 13 counterparts.

Looking back at the last 12 years of iPhone models, the iPhone 13 Pro Max takes the crown as the highest-rated iPhone with 86% five-star reviews, while the lowest-rated iPhone is the iPhone 5C with only 64% of users giving it top marks. However, it should be noted that this research does not reflect the thoughts of all Apple users. Your expectations for your phone are entirely personal, and experiences may vary accordingly.

Truecaller Will Soon Identify Incoming Spam Calls And Messages On WhatsApp

Truecaller is a smartphone app that helps discover unknown callers. Now as per a report by Reuters, the company’s CEO confirmed that they are working on the caller ID service to be available on WhatsApp soon. There has been a significant spike in spam calls and messages from international numbers on the instant messaging platform.

Truecaller will save you from annoying WhatsApp spam calls and messages

Every user receives unsolicited calls or sometimes even from people they know but don’t have their contact saved in their phone. There have been various instances where people have been pranked, scammed, and fallen prey to fraudsters. Today spam calls and messages are not only limited traditionally. They have become rampant on WhatsApp to target unsuspecting users. However, there is no service or tool currently to identify the unknown person before communicating with them. In short, a user has to copy and paste the number of an unknown WhatsApp user on to Truecaller’s search directory.

Truecaller CEO said that telemarketers are switching to internet calling although it is fairly new to the market. He added that over the last two weeks, the company has seen a spike in user reports from India about spam calls over WhatsApp. The Truecaller’s spam identification feature will help in identifying potential spam calls on the instant messaging platform.

It remains to be seen how Truecaller’s caller ID service will work on WhatsApp. It could probably alert users of any incoming spam calls. The integration in WhatsApp is currently in the beta phase and will be rolled out globally later this month.

It makes sense for Truecaller and WhatsApp to work on spam identification with potential solutions before it becomes a widespread nuisance for users.

The chipset includes three performance cores with 2.5GHz clock speed and four efficiency cores with 1.8GHz clock speed. For graphics, it has an Adreno 730 GPU. The official name of Google’s next smartwatch leaks

A few days back, a report revealed that Google will release the next-gen Pixel smartwatch alongside the Pixel 8 series smartphones. However, the report did not mention the name of the product.

Now, a leak discloses the official marketing name of the wearable. Let’s check out what it will be called.

According to reliable tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks), the upcoming smartwatch from Google will be officially called Pixel Watch 2. The naming of the wearable goes in line with the Pixel smartphones.

The other Google hardware products, like the Nest lineup, use ‘Gen’ in their names. The usual numbering format feels much better as it is simple and easy to understand for most people.

Having said that, nothing else is known about this forthcoming watch apart from its name. It is strange considering the fact that Google devices are known for their detailed leaks months ahead of their official announcement.

For the last few years, Google has been officially teasing the design of its upcoming hardware products at the annual Google I/O developer conference. Therefore, we wouldn’t be surprised if the Pixel Watch 2 gets its design unveiled alongside the Pixel 8 series tomorrow at the 2023 edition of Google I/O.

The search giant is expected to announce Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel 7a in a few hours from now. These devices are anticipated to hit the shelves in the coming weeks.

Galaxy S23 Ultra to soon get 2x zoom option in video recording

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is a top-of-the-line product from Samsung. The handset has several impressive features for a flagship smartphone. The company is still working on the device to improve the entire experience. It was recently reported that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will soon have a 2x portrait mode feature, allowing users to snap zoomed-in portrait images.

Renowned tipster Ice Universe shared a screenshot of the Samsung forum, where an official moderator confirmed the arrival of the 2x zoom option in video recording. This option is said to use the primary 200MP ISOCELL HP2 camera sensor’s center 50MP resolution crop, implying that it isn’t a simple digital crop from existing frames. As a result, the video recording quality will be much improved.

In response to one of the community’s questions, the official forum administrator stated that the company’s engineers had already examined the image quality. As a result, while using the non-native 2x zoom setting while recording videos, factors like brightness and other aspects of quality will be unaffected by it. It’s unclear whether this function will be available on the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy S23, or Galaxy S23+.

The brand has not yet revealed a specific timeline for the rollout of this feature. However, there are speculations that it may be released by the end of this month or next. As there is no official confirmation at this time, we recommend that you approach this information with a degree of caution.

Previously, Samsung rolled out a system update for the S23 series in April, which brought several camera improvements and bug fixes. These included optimizations to the Gallery app, autofocus mechanism, Super Steady On mode, and Camera Assistant.
