The tweet also suggests that the Galaxy Z Tab will be introduced alongside the high-end Galaxy Tab S9 lineup, but in the event that the device is not ready for release this year, it will be launched alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 smartphones in 2024. While there are currently no rumoured specs, it’s likely that the device will feature a much larger display than the 7.6-inch screen found on the Galaxy Z Fold 4. We can expect a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a 120Hz refresh rate AMOLED display, and a large-capacity battery to keep the device powered.

The Galaxy Z Tab may also feature a triple-folding display that can be used as a cover screen, and a magnetic dock to charge the S Pen. However, given the expected high price point, it remains to be seen whether the Galaxy Z Tab will be a viable option for most consumers. Nonetheless, if it does get released this year, Samsung will likely have a headstart over Apple’s rumored foldable iPad set to be launched in 2024. We can expect the Galaxy Tab S9 series to be unveiled in the latter half of 2023.

As consumers continue to demand more convenience and portability in their devices, it is likely that the popularity of foldable devices will continue to grow. The research showed that the majority of six-character passwords and under were cracked almost instantly. The study suggests that passwords with at least 18 characters are considered safe against tools like PassGAN, with a minimum of ten months required to crack an 18-character password containing only numbers.

However, this level of security may not last long, as AI technology continues to advance. To protect your accounts from such password-cracking tools, Home Security Heroes recommends using passwords with a minimum of 15 characters, containing at least two letters, numbers, and symbols. Avoiding predictable patterns (e.g., “1234”) and regularly changing your passwords is crucial. Additionally, refrain from using the same password across multiple accounts.

While maintaining strong passwords may seem burdensome, it’s a small price to pay for safeguarding your data. To help you remember complex passwords, consider using a password manager. The problem arose when Firefox was running, leading Windows Defender’s Antimalware Service Executable (Msmpeng.exe) to act up, causing a significant increase in CPU usage. Users reported that their PCs would lag while using the browser, and the issue was found to be limited to Firefox, as it did not affect other browsers like Chrome and Edge.

Investigations revealed that Windows Defender’s real-time protection was the root cause, invoking VirtualProtect multiple times. Mozilla’s engineers worked with Microsoft’s team to address the problem, eventually concluding that the calls to VirtualProtect were abnormally high, leading to the performance issue. Disabling JIT in about:config mitigated the problem but did not completely solve the CPU usage issue.

Microsoft addressed the bug by releasing a beta version of Defender’s engine (1.1.20200.2), which was tested and later pushed to the stable channel of the antivirus definitions. A comparison graph shared by Mozilla engineer Yannis Juglaret shows a nearly 75% reduction in CPU usage as a result of the fix.

The bug was patched in the March 2023 update (released on April 4th), which bumps the app’s version number to 4.18.2302.x and updates the engine to version 1.1.20200.4. The fix is also being deployed for Windows 7 and 8.1 users, even though they were not affected by the problem.

To check if you have the latest version of the DLL, go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Definition Updates, open the folder with a long alphanumeric name, right-click on mpengine.dll, select Properties, switch to the Details tab, and check the product version, which should be 1.1.20200.4. While this patch only applies to Windows Defender, some users have reported similar issues with other antivirus programs like Norton Antivirus. Mozilla is already working on additional improvements to address the issue with other security applications.

Tecno Camon 20, Camon 20 Pro Listed on Google Play with Key Specs

Although only two models are listed on Google Play Console, the Pro model can be seen to have two variants. One has model number TECNO-CK6n and the other has TECNO-CK7n. All three phones are illustrated with a center-punch hole display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, 480 DPI screen density. They are listed to feature 8GB of RAM and the latest Android 13 software.

While the display specs remain the same, other hardware specs are expected to be slightly different. For one, the processor used on the Vanilla Camon 20 may be the entry-level MediaTek MT6769V. This is likely the Helio G85. Notably, last year’s Camon 19 also arrived with the same SoC.

The Tecno Camon 20 Pro, which has model number TECNO-CK6n, carries the same processor as the above-mentioned model, suggesting it will also be a budget-friendly option. On the contrary, the Camon 20 Pro with the model number TECNO-CK7n is listed to have MediaTek MT6789 as its processor. This is nothing but the Helio G99 SoC, which is based on a 6nm process node coupled with an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. We are yet to learn other details about the three phones. China Telecom lists the DOOV X9 in Ink Gray and Fresh Green colors. If you’d look at its design, you’d find a camera module similar to the Reno 9 Pro. However, the smartphone has a less-polished design with likely a plastic back. Its cameras are also underwhelming, with a 13MP primary sensor and a 0.3MP auxiliary lens. The handset gets a 6.5-inch flat display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels as compared to Reno 9 Pro’s 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels (FHD+).

DOOV X9 is powered by an entry-level UNISOC T760 processor and a 5,000mAh battery (Oppo Reno 9 Pro gets a Dimensity 8100-Max chipset and a 4,500mAh battery). All in all, the DOOV X9 smartphone cannot be compared with Oppo’s product in terms of features and performance. However, it may be a decent budget option for those who are looking for a good-looking smartphone.

The product is Beelink’s first model that uses the Intel Alder Lake-N CPU architecture and the Intel N100 processor offers up to 16GB of DDR5 RAM. The processor clocks a maximum of 3.4GHz and delivers a maximum iGPU clock speed of 750MHz. The RAM options are 8GB and 16GB and 500GB NVMr storage. The EQ12 has microSD, M.1 2280, and 2.5-inch slots to enable scaling up the storage capacity of the mini-PC.

The Beelink EQ12 has 3 USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, a USB Type-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, two 2.5Gigabit Ethernet, and HDMI 2.0 ports. The EQ12 supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. The color options for the product are pearl white, millennial grey, senior grey, and navy blue.

The 8GB RAM version of the EQ12 is priced at $239 when the buyer applies for a $30 coupon from Amazon. A similar arrangement holds for the Beelink EQ12 with 16GB RAM at $259. The products ship to other countries but shipping costs and expected delivery times vary.

The Pocketbook InkPad 4 E-Reader has been launched. The new Pocketbook E-Reader features a 7.8-inch e-ink display and reflects some design changes from the InkPad 3 series. The E-Reader has a resolution of 1404 x 1872 pixels with a 300 DPI.

The E-Reader is rated IPX8 and can be recharged via USB-C. The Pocketbook InkPad 4 weighs 265g and comes pre-installed with Linux 3.10.65 OS which was released in 2015.

The Pocketbook InkPad 4 supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. The E-Reader has a mono speaker setup and features a G-sensor. The screen has the latest E ink Carta 1200 generation technology and it has minimal page turn buttons. The capacitive touchscreen allows for gesture actions or swiping.

The screen is flush with the bezel and has a layer of glass protection. The 2,000mAh battery of the tablet can last for up to three weeks, with the Linux operating system providing substantial energy savings.

Vivo T2 5G series to feature 64MP camera with OIS and EIS

Vivo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, is all set to introduce its latest T2 5G series in India on April 11. The series will comprise two models, the Vivo T2 5G and Vivo T2x 5G. These smartphones will feature upgraded specifications compared to their Chinese counterparts, with at least one of them boasting a FullHD+ notched AMOLED display with a 1,300 nits peak brightness and 360Hz touch sampling rate.

In anticipation of the launch, Indian online retailer Flipkart has revealed that both models in the T2 5G series will come equipped with a 64MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) capabilities.

However, it is still unclear if both models will have the same 64MP primary camera or if only one of them will feature it. A recent promotional image released by Flipkart shows the blue variant of the T2 5G series with the notched AMOLED display featuring the 64MP camera, whereas the other model has a different color and camera island.

The Vivo T2 5G is listed in the Geekbench database with a motherboard codenamed “holi” and features six cores at 1.80GHz and two cores at 2.21GHz. It is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 695 chipset, which also supports 5G connectivity. The upcoming smartphone will also feature 6GB RAM and run on the latest Android 13 OS out of the box.

The T2 5G series processor will be revealed by Flipkart later today, although it is not expected to explicitly mention which model will be powered by it.

OPPO Reno 10 Pro+ tipped to arrive with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1

OPPO is expected to announce the Reno 10 series of smartphones in May or June in China. The lineup is expected to include three models: the Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro, and Reno 10 Pro+. In a new Weibo post, tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the name of the chip that will power the Reno 10 Pro+.

According to DCS, the Reno 10 Pro+ will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. The same chip is present under the hood of the Reno 9 Pro+, which debuted in November 2022 in China. Initial reports about the Find X6 series claimed that the vanilla Find X6 will feature the SD8+G1, but it was eventually cancelled. Instead of it, the company launched the Dimensity 9200-powered Find X6. It appears that a tweaked version of the cancelled Find X6 may debut as the Reno 10 Pro+ in the Chinese market.

Previous reports have claimed that the Reno 10 Pro+ will come equipped with a 6.74-inch OLED display that offers a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will have a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 front-facing camera. Shown above is the alleged schematic of the Reno 10 Pro Plus, which was leaked in December last year.

The device’s back camera will have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS). It will be coupled with an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra-wide lens and a 64-megapixel periscope zoom camera with 2x optical zoom.

The Reno 10 Pro Plus may house a 4,700mAh battery that may support 80W wired charging. It may arrive with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The handset will come preinstalled with ColorOS 13.1-based Android 13 OS. At present, there is no word on the price of the device. For security, it will have an under-display fingerprint scanner.

Other reports say that the Reno 10 Pro will probably have the Dimensity 8200 chipset, while the Reno 10 might have a Snapdragon 7-series chipset.
