The final marketing name of the 23046PNC9C is yet to be confirmed. Several reports have said that the next Civi device will be called the Xiaomi Civi 3. However, there is a possibility that the 23046PNC9C will be an upgraded version and not a successor to the Xiaomi Civi 2, which went official in September 2022. Samsung to Fix Camera App Crashes on Galaxy Smartphones with 30x Zoom

Since its launch, Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series has been receiving positive reviews from both consumers and experts. It’s also not uncommon for smartphones to experience issues during their initial launch or after major software updates. As per recent reports, some Galaxy S series users have reported camera app crashes when using high zoom levels, particularly at 30x zoom.

Galaxy S23 Ultra

Samsung has acknowledged this problem and stated that its internal team has confirmed the issue, which occurs when users quickly switch between different cameras on the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21, and Galaxy S22 series phones. The company has already addressed the issue and plans to release the fix with the next software update, scheduled for April 2023.

It’s worth noting that this issue only affects the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21, and Galaxy S22 series phones, as the Galaxy S10 series lacks the 30x zoom feature. If users are experiencing this problem with their Galaxy S series smartphones, they can be assured that Samsung will solve it with the upcoming software update.

Additionally, the April 2023 software update will also bring camera optimizations for exposure, HDR, and Night Mode-related issues to the Galaxy S23 series. Overall, while this issue may be frustrating for some Galaxy S series users, it’s good to know that Samsung is actively working to address it and improve the camera experience for its customers. The Galaxy S23 Ultra flaunts a quad-camera setup, highlighted by a large 200MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor capable of recording up to 8K resolutions at 30fps. On the other hand, Galaxy S23 and S23 Ultra are equipped with a triple camera system on the back and a 12MP front-facing camera. The rear camera setup comprises an OIS-assisted 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide unit with auto-focus support, and a 12MP telephoto shooter with a 3x optical zoom lens and OIS.

China all set to introduce 6G mobile applications by 2025

China is planning to roll out early-stage 6G technology in the mainland. The technical research and launch for 6G technology will be conducted by China Unicom, the third-largest wireless network operator in the country. The company expects to launch introductory early applications by 2025 and plans to roll out complete 6G mobile technology by 2030.

China Unicom Chairman and Chief Executive Liu Liehong said that the early 6G application scenarios will be introduced by 2025 in China, which is home to the world’s largest internet user population and biggest smartphone market. This announcement from China Unicom comes right after last week’s Global 6G Conference wherein experts came to a consensus that the 6G technology will be rolled out in China by 2030.

China’s contribution to the global telecommunications industry is crucial and influential, thanks to its extensive range of application scenarios and the largest user base in the world. Numerous global enterprises are actively engaged in the Chinese market, recognizing its significance in promoting telecom development.

Chinese telecommunications companies are at the forefront of various sectors within the industry, including 5G, 6G, and fixed-line telecommunications. They are collaborating with international institutions to establish industry standards, which helps to mitigate future uncertainties. For instance, China Mobile has published 31 white papers and 60 high-quality papers on 6G, ranking first among global telecom operators. Also China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom, the three major telecom network operators in China, have already begun researching and developing 6G technology for the country.

China has the largest market in crucial fields of the telecom industry, from internet construction to key equipment, with leading companies like Huawei and ZTE. However, the country is facing major challenges in the field of technology due to the pandemic and the ongoing US-China tech war

But if we look at China’s past history, the country has achieved tremendous technological advancements, especially in the field of telecommunications. China has successfully constructed the world’s largest 5G mobile network and there are more than 2.31 million 5G base stations installed throughout the country. And with government support, Chinese telecom companies are likely to repeat the feat with 6G technology.

OnePlus Exec denies rumors of company exiting the European market

A new rumor had hinted at Oppo planning on exiting the European market. Apparently, the brand and OnePlus will be pulling out of this region, but an executive has now denied this rumor. So here are all the details.

For those unaware, recent rumors had hinted at Oppo and OnePlus exiting the European and UK markets. However, senior official James Paterson has stated otherwise, at least for OnePlus that is. The Global Public Relations Manager from the Chinese smartphone maker stated that “OnePlus will not exit from Europe and the UK and maintains stable operations in local markets. OnePlus will continue to invest in Europe and provide more innovative product and solutions for its users.”

OnePlus

Unfortunately, it is still unclear if Oppo still plans to exit this region. The original report claimed that the companies are exiting the region due to a rough market condition in Europe. This includes issues with high sales costs while consumer purchasing power fell due to economic decline. In other words, it became difficult for both brands to operate profitably in those markets. Thus, Oppo decided to scale down its operation in Europe to better deal with the conditions in Europe.

Based on a Counterpoint Research report, smartphone shipments overall in Europe fell by 17 percent in 2022. This marked the worst year for the industry with Oppo seeing a sizeable decline of sales by 39 percent year on year in the fourth quarter in 2022. But it is confirmed that at least OnePlus is planning on continuing its operations in the region. So stick around for more updates regarding this matter.

Apple’s patent reveals under-display tech for biometrics and gesture control in iPhones and Apple Watch

Apple has recently filed a patent showcasing an under-display sensor technology that could be used for biometrics and gesture control in iPhones and Apple Watches. The patent outlines the use of a quantum film infrared sensor that could generate sensor data based on received infrared light, which could then be processed by control circuitry to perform proximity sensing, capture images of external objects, identify facial features, detect the direction of a user’s gaze, track object location, and detect physical gestures.

Apple Under-Display Tech

Despite the exciting possibilities that this technology could bring, display tech expert and analyst Ross Young has stated that the implementation of under-panel Face ID technology may not be possible until 2025 or later due to sensor-related issues. However, Apple’s engineering teams are working on ways to overcome these challenges and determine the best way to implement the technology.

In addition to under-display Face ID technology, Apple has also experimented with an under-display version of Touch ID for the iPhone. While it is unlikely to be included in the upcoming iPhone 15 or other high-end models in the near future, there is a chance that it may make a return on lower-end models like the iPhone SE. This dual authentication approach, in conjunction with Face ID, could prove especially beneficial in instances where Face ID may not function correctly and offers an additional level of security.

Overall, Apple’s latest patent showcases exciting possibilities for under-display sensor technology that could change the way we interact with our devices. While there may be challenges to overcome before the technology can be implemented, it’s clear that Apple’s engineering teams are committed to exploring various approaches and determining the best way forward.
