Furthermore, installing multiple applications such as Razer Synapse, Steelseries Engine, and ASUS Armoury can slow your PC down since these applications run in the background and sap a decent chunk of system memory. But what if we told you that Microsoft might be working on a solution?

Recently, a software developer discovered a hidden feature in the latest Insider build of Windows 11, which offers controls for RGB components. As shown in the screenshots shared by the developer, Microsoft has added lighting controls to the personalization menu within the Windows 11 Settings app. With this, you can have an overview of all your RGB components, including external peripherals, and easily adjust the brightness and color. You can even select from a variety of effects and choose the speed of repetition. Plus, the feature allows you to match your computer’s lighting with your Windows accent color.

Although Microsoft has not officially confirmed the existence of this feature in Windows 11 build 25295, the developer suggests that it could be in the works. However, it’s important to keep in mind that this information is from 2018, and references to the feature have been around for years. So, while the prospect of a native Windows 11 solution is exciting, let’s not get our hopes too high just yet.

It’s quite exciting to see that Microsoft may be working on making controlling RGB lighting a seamless experience. Fingers crossed that this feature becomes a reality soon!

Redmi K60 512GB Storage Model Gets 300 Yuan (~$44) Price Cut in China

Redmi K60 series, which was launched a couple of months ago, was made available for purchase in the Chinese market a few weeks ago.

Today, Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group and General Manager of the Redmi brand, has announced that the Redmi K60 512GB storage model will be available at a starting price of 2,999 yuan (~$439), offering a discount of 300 yuan (~$44).

The 12GB RAM and 512GB storage model is priced at 2,999 yuan, which is around $439 while the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at 3,599 yuan, which is about $527.

Lu Weibing also announced that those who purchased the 512GB model will be provided with an insured price that those who purchased it earlier will be fully compensated for the price difference. Further, he adds that those users who purchased the remaining versions will get a Redmi Band 2.

The smartphone features a 6.67-inch OLED display offering a 2K screen resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, coupled with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash memory.

In the camera department, there’s a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. On the front side, the phone features a 16-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

It runs the Android 13 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own MIUI 14 custom user interface on top. The device is powered by a 5,500mAh battery which comes with support for 67W fast charging.

We recently reported on the leaked pricing of the highest configuration of this upcoming device. Now, new information has emerged online revealing the pricing of the base variant in India.

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the iQOO Neo 7 base variant with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage could cost ₹26,999. To recall, the previous leak mentions that the 12GB RAM
+ 256GB storage model will cost around ₹34,999 without any offers and ₹30,999 with offers. Following that logic, we can expect the base variant to be priced at around ₹30,999 without any bank or exchange offers. Let’s take a look at what we will be getting for this price.

iQOO Neo 7 5G specs

BYD’s latest release, the Seagull is the company’s highly-anticipated electric vehicle this year. This sleek and stylish vehicle has been making waves and catching eyes recently, with its vibrant yellow paint job and bold design. Recently, images of the car were captured out in the open.

The Seagull boasts a rugged look, with sharp lines and corners that set it apart from its sibling, the Dolphin. The front is characterized by a closed, trapezoidal air intake and two piercing headlights that render a unique design to the vehicle. The car is quite compact, with dimensions of 3780mm x 1715mm x 1540mm and a wheelbase of 2500mm. The four-wheel design promises ample interior space. Charging is made convenient with a front-fender charging port. The back of the car is quite modern and stylish, complete with a layered design and through-type taillights. The seagull emblem on the tailgate solidifies its identity.

The inside of the Seagull is a sight to behold, with a minimalist center console that features a floating full LCD screen, BYD’s adaptive pad, and a control interface that integrates AutoNavi navigation, among other features. Physical buttons are located below, and while the picture is unclear, it is expected to follow in the same design as the Dolphin. Under the hood, the Seagull packs a punch with a TZ180XSH permanent magnet synchronous drive motor with a max power of 55 kilowatts. The battery is made from BYD’s trusted lithium iron phosphate material. The cruising range is yet to be disclosed, but it is expected to be between 300-400 kilometers.

Upon release, the Seagull will be competing with EVs such as Wuling Bingo. The price factor, however, will be a huge deciding factor. Given BYD’s Qin PLUS DM-i’s price tag of under 100,000 yuan (~$14,367), the Seagull’s expected starting price of 60,000 yuan (~$8,780) is sure to cause a stir. With projections of selling over 10,000 units a month, this car should be a steal for those who are looking for a compact electric vehicle.

OnePlus Buds Ace TWS Earbuds Now Available for Purchase in China

OnePlus announced the Buds Ace true wireless earbuds, the company’s first gaming true wireless noise-canceling headset last week, along with the OnePlus 11 series smartphones.

Today, the newly launched OnePlus Buds Ace TWS earbuds are officially available for purchase in the Chinese market for the price of 249 yuan which roughly converts to $37.

The Buds Ace has a design similar to its predecessor, the Nord Buds or Buds N. Despite featuring the same design, the latest model offers several improvements, the most notable inclusion is the addition of ANC technology (Active Noise Cancellation).

The earphones houses a 12.4mm dynamic audio driver for rich bass but only come with support for the AAC codec. It supports Bluetooth 5.3 and even comes with 47ms ultra-low latency mode for gaming.

The company says that the new earbuds also offer up to 36 hours of battery life with the charging case but with ANC turned off. With ANC turned on, the battery life drops to around 27 hours. The new earbuds also support fast charging that offers up to 5 hours of audio playback with just 10 minutes of charging.

OnePlus recently launched its new flagship OnePlus 11 smartphone in the global market. The worldwide launch obviously came around a month after the domestic launch in China. As the device is yet to go on sale in many regions, eager customers and fans of the brand have already sourced the device from China. However, it has been discovered that these models are region-locked.

The discovery was announced on the Russian 4PDA forum. Apparently, a OnePlus 11 device purchased from China was functioning well for approximately two weeks, until a message appeared stating “You are using a region-specific phone. Its calling capabilities are limited in your area. Please contact customer service for assistance.” Following this, the phone’s calling features were limited. It is uncertain if cellular data was also impacted.

After further investigation into the TeleService.apk (com.android.phone) app that generated the warning message, the forum members discovered the configuration files that outline the markets where the region-locking behavior is activated, based on the Mobile Country Codes (MMCs) of the region. The restricted region list is quite long and includes markets like India, Italy, Russia, and Brazil.

Further digging into OplusEngineerNetwork.apk has also revealed that there is a way to lift this region lock from these OnePlus 11 smartphones, which requires a 16-digit unlock code. It’s possible that this code could be obtained for each device by reaching out to OnePlus support. However, it remains uncertain whether support would be willing to unlock phones that were not purchased through official Chinese channels, but rather through third-party retailers.

That being said, the reason for this region locking is unconfirmed as of yet. We can assume that it’s likely due to OnePlus selling the global version of the OnePlus 11 in these regions. So it is likely that the brand wants to sell the phones through official channels in these regions rather than customers getting them over from China via third-party retailers.

It remains to be seen if OnePlus’s sister companies like Oppo and Realme also adopt this region-locking strategy for Chinese models of their popular devices.

New Apple iMac Launch Might Be Delayed Until Later This Year, May Feature M3 Chip

The iMac fans are in for a long wait, as it seems that the latest 24-inch iMac model is not coming anytime soon. According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the company has no plans to launch the device until 2023 at the earliest. Gurman’s newsletter confirmed his expectation that Apple will skip the M2 chip update and instead wait for the M3 chip, which is yet to be officially announced.

It is still a mystery whether Apple is working on a larger-screen version of the iMac or not. The company’s plans are unclear, and rumors are mixed on this front. Previously, it was reported that Apple is indeed working on a next-gen version of the iMac with the M3 chip, which could be a follow-up to the current 24-inch M1 iMac. Now, it’s unsure whether the new Mac will be labeled as the Mac Pro, or will be placed amongst the already existing iMac lineup.

The M3 chip is expected to be manufactured using TSMC’s latest 3nm process, providing improved performance and efficiency. It could also be used in the rumored MacBook Air, which is expected to launch by 2023, as well as in future versions of the 13-inch MacBook Pro and Mac mini. For reference, the “nm” (nanometer) parameter is the size of the transistors that make up a CPU and their distance from one another. The smaller the number, the more transistors can fit on the chipset, making it more powerful, but also more difficult and costly to make.

Apple last updated the iMac in April 2021 with the M1 chip and a sleek design in seven vibrant colors. It is currently the only iMac available in the market, with the Intel-based 27-inch iMac and iMac Pro being discontinued in the past two years. Gurman has hinted that a larger iMac might make a comeback, but no such information was shared in his latest newsletter.

Last week, OnePlus announced its latest smartphone under the Ace lineup, dubbed OnePlus Ace 2. As the name itself indicates, the device is the successor of the OnePlus Ace launched last year.

OnePlus Ace 2 smartphone is now available for purchase in the Chinese market for a starting price of 2,799 yuan which converts to around $410.

Coming to the specifications, the device features a 6.74-inch AMOLED display that offers a 1.5K resolution with 2772 × 1240 pixels, 1450 nits of peak brightness, 100 percent DCI P3 color gamut, 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, Asahi Glass AGC protection, and adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. It comes with 5177mm² eight channel heat dissipation VC cooling which the company claims is based on an exclusive black technology for an improved heat dissipation that is twice as effective as typical VC liquid cooling mechanisms.

In the camera department, there’s a 50-megapixel primary Sony IMX890 sensor that supports OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and has a 1/1.56-inch size and f/1.8 aperture. It is paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera. On the front side, the phone features a 16-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

The device runs Android 13 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own ColorOS 13 custom user interface on top. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 100W SuperVOOC charging.

Rumors have claimed the Vivo V27 series will have specifications and design similar to the Vivo S16 series, which was launched last year in China. The leaked posters back these rumors as the V27 series is pictured with an identical design to the S16 lineup.

The smartphones in the series could debut with a curved back that features a large rectangular camera island. We can see the camera bar houses three circular rings for the camera sensors. Up to 256GB on board storage and a RAM expansion feature is also mentioned.

According to reports, the Vivo V27 Pro will be a rebranded Vivo S16 Pro and pack a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC under the hood. The vanilla V27 is said to be a rebranded S16 and it may feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7200. Both devices may launch in March but an official confirmation is awaited.

According to a tipster on Weibo, Huawei has completed the design for the upcoming P60 series. The manufacturer has updated its camera module, and the back panel’s leather back may be visible. However, according to another source, Huawei may present the product at the MWC 2023 event. This would catch us off, guard. The informant is emphatic that it might be the Chinese tech manufacturer’s earliest launch attempt, though.

After refreshing its flagship S series, Samsung is now preparing to bring new phones in the mid-range A lineup. These devices could be the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34. Galaxy A54 has appeared on the TENAA website with model number SM-A5400. The listing confirms the mid-ranger will arrive with a 4905mAh battery (marketed as 5,000mAh). We can expect the device to support just 25W charging as Samsung is not exactly known for fast charging. Further, the authority corroborates that the device will have a triple camera unit on the back and a single shooter on the front.

It could support multiple 5G bands including b41, b78, b79, b78, and b28. This is all the information we could get from the TENAA listing of the device. The certification hints the Galaxy A54’s launch might be near. An official confirmation is still awaited.

Previous reports have revealed the device will arrive with an Exynos 1380 SoC under the hood. The unannounced processor could be paired with 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB storage. The device may arrive with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate.

For photography, it may have a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide, and probably an 8MP tertiary sensor on the rear. The handset could look quite similar to the recently launched Galaxy S23 and S23+ with three camera rings on the back. It is rumored to be offered in 4 different colors— Awesome White, Awesome Graphite, Awesome Lime, and Awesome Violet.

Lastly, Apple was granted a patent (US-11571048-B1) for an Apple Watch strap release mechanism that could potentially be used with a built-in camera. First of all, we should note that the fact that the US technology giant made such a patent application does not mean that it will produce an Apple Watch with a camera. The patent was first spotted by Patently Apple and it details a strap with two segments and a “nest” portion that could be used to quickly and ergonomically pop the watch out of the strap.
