Apple’s Dynamic Island copycat Android app hits over 1 million downloads

The DynamicSpot app is an Android app that offers a Dynamic Island akin to what obtains in the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. Dynamic Island is a new multi-tasking and shape-shifting notification system that replaces the traditional notch. The DynamicSpot app replicates the Dynamic Island functionality in Android smartphones and has now achieved over 1 million downloads on the Google Play Store.iPhone 14 Pro series

While there had been speculation that Apple could unveil Dynamic Island with its iPhone 14 series, this was not definitive. However, Apple indeed featured the Dynamic Island in the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. Some OEMs like Xiaomi, are reportedly working on a Dynamic Island-like feature on Android smartphones. The DynamicSpot had been on the radar silently for a while but its blossoming has coincided with the launch of the iPhone 14 lineup. It is available on the Google Play Store and is compatible with both left-centered and center punch hole camera smartphones. It also features Android music controls and is referenced in the Play Store as the Dynamic Island for Android.

The DynamicSpot app was released on September 29 and this feat of 1 million downloads in a few days is quite impressive. The current rating by users who downloaded the app is 4.3 which is a decent performance. According to the app developer Jawomo, the DynamicSpot replicates the iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island feature on your Android device.iPhone 14

The mini multitasking feature of DynamicSpot allows Android users to access recent notifications or phone status changes. The developer further says that, unlike Dynamic Island, DynamicSpot is customizable, as you can change interaction settings and tweak a few more features. The app is compatible with most Android apps and will integrate seamlessly into Android’s notification system.

The DynamicSpot requires Android 9 or higher and the developer says more features will be incorporated into the app in due course.

Youtube could make 4K resolution exclusive to Premium subscribers

Users who subscribe to YouTube’s premium plan can watch videos and listen to music without being interrupted by advertisements. According to Reddit posts, YouTube has been seen testing 4K video playback as a premium feature. Google Pixel Watch

Just like Amazon jumped the gun on the Pixel 7 listing, the e-commerce giant has done it again, only this time revealing the price of the device in Germany (and other EU regions).

Google Pixel Watch

Spotted by Reddit user Vgkantis, the listing reveals that the Pixel Watch will debut with a price tag of almost €357. The listing also says that the wearable will be released on October 13, which could mean that the smartwatch will be available to purchase a lot sooner than what was previously rumored.

Other than the pricing & availability, the Pixel Watch features have also been revealed by the listing, according to which the smartwatch will debut with a free Fitbit Premium subscription for six months. It will feature sensors to monitor sleep, heart rate, and rhythm, as well as EKG.

The smartwatch will have a 4G/LTE option, which will allow users to play music, access Google Assistant, email or message, and make calls without the smartphone. You can customize the watch face’s color and design to match your unique preferences. Both digital and traditional dials, as well as contemporary, graphic designs, are available.

Google Pixel Watch smarthome

It has 5ATM (50 meter) water resistance and a Corning Gorilla Glass protection for the screen, making the wearable ideal for activities like diving or mountain biking. The Pixel Watch will also offer a safety feature that lets users alert selected contacts in case of an emergency. The listing also reveals that smart home control via Wear OS will finally be possible with the Pixel Watch.

As per the latest report, Honor will be launching a new Honor X40GT smartphone in its home market China in the coming weeks, and the name of the device indicates that the company will be focusing on performance.

Honor X40

The report hasn’t revealed many details about the upcoming mid-range smartphone, but if the previous reports are anything to go by, then the device could be the with model number ADT-AN00 which was recently spotted on the 3C certification website.

If that’s the case, then the smartphone will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, a 6000mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. It is also said to have a high refresh rate for the screen.

We will have to wait for the official announcement from the company or for the teasers ahead of the launch to know for sure what the device packs. Given the name, it should be an upper mid-range smartphone, but it’s just speculation at this time.

Nothing Ear (Stick) TWS earbuds’ renders leak online ahead of launch

Nothing, a new consumer electronics company founded by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, recently teased the launch of its upcoming product, dubbed Nothing Ear (Stick), which will be the company’s second audio product.

Now, ahead of the official launch, renders of the upcoming true wireless earbuds from the brand have leaked online, showcasing the design of the Nothing Ear (Stick).

The leaked renders reveal that the company will be sticking with the transparent design for the earphones. However, this time around, there will be a semi in-ear earbuds instead of the in-ear design found on the Nothing Ear (1), which means that they will come with ear tips to securely fit them in the ear canal.

The Nothing Ear (Stick) was recently spotted on the FCC certification website, which confirmed that each earbud would be powered by a 36mAh battery while the charging case will come packed with a 350mAh battery. This time, instead of the square case, the company has opted to offer a cylindrical charging case.

The earphones, which support Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, will come with a USB Type-C to Type-C cable. They have already passed through the BIS certification process, which means they are all set to launch in India.

OPPO Reno 9 Pro tipped to feature the older Snapdragon 778G chip

Earlier this year, OPPO unveiled the Reno 8 series of smartphones in China. The lineup includes three phones, such as the Reno 8, the Reno 8 Pro, and the Reno 8 Pro+. These phones are powered by the Dimensity 1300, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, and the Dimensity 8100 Max chipsets, respectively. The Chinese manufacturer is now reportedly working on the Reno 9 series of smartphones for the Chinese market. Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has shared vital information on the processor of the Reno 9 series.

The tipster claims that while the previous generation featured the SM7450 chip, the upcoming model will have the SM7325 SoC.  What he means to say is that while the Reno 8 Pro came equipped with the latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 mobile platform, its successor, which is likely to be called the Reno 9 Pro, will house the Snapdragon 778G SoC.

Even though the Reno 9 Pro is tipped to feature the older chip, the tipster has claimed that it will be an “upgrade.” At present, the Reno 8 Pro and the Xiaomi CIVI 2, which are exclusively available in China, are the only phones powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 mobile platform. It is unclear why OPPO may have opted for the SD778G for the Reno 9 Pro.

It was previously revealed by the tipster that the Reno 9 series would pack a 4,500mAh battery. The lineup will come with support for the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology’s new charging protocol, UFSC (Universal Fast Charging Specification).

DCS also revealed that apart from the Snapdragon 7-series chip, the Reno 9 lineup will feature the Dimensity 8-series SoC. He added that the Reno 9 series will come in a red color option dubbed “Everything Red.” It appears that the Reno 9 series will debut by Q4 this year in China.
