Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 to get S22 Ultra’s main & ultra-wide cameras

Samsung is reported to be working on its next-generation flagship foldable smartphone dubbed the Galaxy Z Fold4. The device is expected to debut sometime around August 2022. The expected launch of the device is many months away, however, leaks about its specs and features have started surfacing online.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 concept render

In a recent tweet, tipster Dohyun Kim has revealed that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold4 will come with a 108-megapixel primary camera. The camera sensor is said to be the same 1/1.33-inch camera sensor that is present in the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Another tipster @Chunvn888 has added that the rear camera setup on the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold4 will be the same as the Galaxy S22 Ultra minus the periscope sensor. Instead, the device is expected to use the 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom that Samsung provides on the vanilla Galaxy S22.

Going by these reports, we can expect the Galaxy Z Fold4 to come with a 108-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. A previous leak also revealed that the front camera on the upcoming foldable will be the 10-megapixel sensor featured in the vanilla S22.

It was reported last month that Samsung could be working on a “Super UTG” for the Galaxy Z Fold4. It is expected to offer a stronger surface for using the S Pen. Hence, there is a possibility that the regular S Pen may work on the Z Fold4. Other rumored improvements coming to the device include a dedicated S-Pen slot, an improved hinge, and the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 plus chipset.

Watch: A Pure EV e-scooter catches fire again, marks the 6th EV fire incident in India

Just yesterday, we reported on Okinawa recalling its Praise Pro electric scooters in India over a faulty battery issue that caused fire accidents. Now, another EV has gone up in flames in India. And this time, it is the Pure EV e-scooter that has made the headlines again.

In a video shared on YouTube, we can see another Pure EV electric scooter going up in flames. Notably, this marks the fourth electric scooter from the brand to have caught fire in India. Back in September 2021, two e-scooters of the same model were engulfed in flames in Hyderabad, while another model recently caught fire in Chennai in March 2022. Furthermore, there have also been other e-scooter models from other brands like Ola, Okinawa, and more that have suffered from fire related accidents.

The latest incident comes from Warangal in Telangana, where a red Pure EV Pluto burst into flames. It was parked on the side of the road, with the video showing the vehicle being engulfed in smoke and flames. There were also sounds of the fresh lithium ion cells catching fire, which was indicative through the occasional popping sound. It is believed that the chain reaction signified a thermal runaway that has been a major issue behind most fire accidents related to EVs.

Pure EV

This marks the 6th EV fire incident in India now. As of right now, the Road Transport Ministry has directed the Centre for Fire Explosive and Environment Safety (CFEES) to begin an in depth investigation and find out the causes behind this by the end of this month. It remains to be seen what results are uncovered regarding this matter, so stick around for more updates.

Red Magic teases Transformers partnership, likely for new limited edition products

Earlier today (20th April 2022), Red Magic shared a new teaser poster on its official social media account. In the teaser, the company hint at a new collaboration with Transformers, which will likely be for its upcoming products’ limited editions.

Red Magic

The smartphone maker shared the announcement on its official Weibo account (a Chinese microblogging website) along with an image poster. Looking at this promotional image, we can see a Transformer’s mechanical eye, with the caption reading “It’s time for the world to know of our presence.” For those unaware, this is the same “Transformers” from the Michael Bay Hollywood movies and also the popular franchise that is owned by Hasbro.

To explain it in short, Transformers refers to sentient living autonomous robots that have the capability of transforming their forms into various forms, with the most popular being automobiles (as seen in the movies). In other words, we can expect new special edition model of Red Magic products to feature an aesthetic that matches this theme. This may be in the form of metallic accents or possibly even designs of popular characters like Optimus Prime, Megatron. or Bumblebee.

Red Magic

Unfortunately, finer details regarding this partnership are still unknown. However, a notable aspect revealed in the teaser post is two lines at the bottom, with the first line translating to “4.25” while the second line means “Cybertron” (Transformers’ home planet). So, this hints at the brand possibly launching this new limited edition Transformers product in China on the 25th of April 2022.

Redmi 10 Power launched with 8GB RAM for ₹14,999

At the Redmi 10A virtual launch event for India, Xiaomi surprised everyone by announcing yet another smartphone called Redmi 10 Power. Though it sounds like a new device, it isn’t. It is actually nothing but a Redmi 10 with plenty of RAM and in new striking color.

Redmi 10 Power
Redmi 10 Power

The newly unveiled Redmi 10 Power is basically a Redmi 10 inside out. The only major difference between the two is that the latest phone comes with a whopping 8GB of RAM paired with 128GB of internal storage. There’s also support for additional 3GB of virtual RAM.

It arrives in a stellar Sporty Orange color option, in addition to standard Power Black. The former color matches Xiaomi’s branding and the Redmi 9 Power’s Fiery Red variant.

As far as price is concerned, the Redmi 10 Power costs ₹14,999 ($196). At this retail price, it has tough competition from Xiaomi’s own Poco M4 Pro and Redmi Note 11. These two devices offer a better set of features.

Weirdly, despite making the handset official, Xiaomi did not reveal its availability. We expect the company to disclose further details in the coming days.

With that being said, it is worth noting that the Redmi 10 (Redmi 10 Power) for India is different from the Redmi 10 sold elsewhere. The original Redmi 10 is known as Redmi 10 Prime in the region, while the Redmi 10 available here is actually the Redmi 10C.

Logitech launches the affordable Lift wireless vertical mouse

Logitech has unveiled a Lift wireless vertical mouse. The device comes with some impressive features and a $69.99 price tag. Apart from being available in several color variants namely graphite, silver, and pink, customers can choose either a left-handed or right-handed variant. However, only the graphite-colored model is available in left-handed and right-handed options at this time.Logitech Lift wireless vertical mouse

The Lift wireless mouse features a vertically oriented design which provides greater comfort and ergonomics. The user’s hand is positioned at a 57-degree angle when the device is being operated. This offers greater comfort on your wrists, unlike traditional mice which could cause wrist pains after extended use.

When combined with a shift ergonomic keyboard, the benefits of using the Lift wireless vertical mouse become quite obvious. The Lift is powered by a single AA battery, hence USB charging is not available. Logitech says the Lift’s battery can last up to two years. It is priced at $69.99 and offers limited functionality compared to some of the pricier models. The Lift draws comparisons with the pricier MX Vertical but comes with a much-simplified design.Logitech Lift wireless vertical mouse

The Lift’s software makeup allows for its seamless use on two computers simultaneously. This is due to Logitech’s proprietary software – Flow. Logitech’s Flow software also allows for such operation even if the computers have different operating systems. However, the Logi Options app must be operational on the two computers. The app can also be used for transferring files between the two PCs via copy and paste.Logitech Lift wireless vertical mouse

The Lift wireless vertical mouse has a rubber grip, making it fit snugly in your palm. Its two main buttons are a scroll wheel and a DPI switching button. The scroll wheel assures smooth and silent scrolling and there are two thumb buttons as well. The bottom of the device features a button for toggling between devices and Bluetooth pairing. In terms of connectivity, you can connect the mouse via Logitech’s Bolt USB-A receiver or through Bluetooth. The Logitech Lift is available for $59.99 from Amazon and other online retail platforms.
