Phone accessories and audio products manufacturer Anker is expanding its business to include the manufacture of 3D printers. The AnkerMake M5 3D printer which has just been launched on Kickstarter is Anker’s first-ever 3D printer – and it packs some exciting features with it. The AnkerMake M5 is primed to challenge the leading 3D printing brands for the top spot in the field.
Anker has a rich vein of trusted products from phone chargers to audio products. It hopes to leverage the excellent capabilities of the AnkerMake M5 to break into the 3D printing market. The AnkerMake M5 is priced at $499 as an introductory offer but the original price is $759, according to the company. Some of the innovations that come with the printer include a smart webcam that provides video and control services during the printing process. The webcam can automatically pause a print job when it observes deviation from the printing quality expected. It will also notify the user about the problem.
The AnkerMake M5 is claimed to print faster than any of the current brands in the market. Anker even claims that the printer is five times faster than any of the competing brands in the market. Anker also says that the 3D printer can easily be set up from the box and straightaway proceed to 250mm/sec printing. The implications of this fast printing model can be outstanding in the field. Most of the current 3D printers can only boast 50mm/sec speeds or less and the AnkerMake M5 could change all that.
While it is not clearly stated the mechanism that accounts for the enhanced speed of the printer, Anker points to some innovative measures that could have enhanced the printing speed. It says the Y-axis build plate is being moved by a fancy stepper motor with high subdivision drivers and two belts. In addition, advanced algorithms for a seamless process are also part of the innovations.
It is unclear how durable the AnkerMake M5 is and how the expectations will be matched by the product itself. The Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign is aimed at providing the needed investment to drive the delivery of the product. A September date has been set for the first deliveries and we hope that Anker will follow the timeline.
Samsung is one of the handfuls of smartphone companies that also develops its own processors or chips. The Exynos chips from the South Korean giant haven’t been able to match up to the offerings from Apple and Qualcomm.
Even though Samsung manufacturers chips, the company doesn’t have an exclusive lineup of processors for its own smartphones. But if the latest report is to be believed, then that is about the change soon.
As per the latest report, Samsung is planning to develop chipsets exclusively for its own smartphones. This is a major step from the South Korean giant as reports indicate the System LSI division which makes chips and the Mobile eXperience (MX) division for mobile phones do not have a very close relationship.
It is being claimed that for Samsung’s System LSI division, the MX unit of the company is just like other customers who procure chips. The mobile processors manufactured by Samsung are also used in phones from other brands, including Vivo.
The report adds that TM Roh, President and Head of Samsung MX Business said during a town hall meeting that Samsung will now make processors specifically for the Galaxy lineup of smartphones. It is also said that Samsung has internally acknowledged that its employees “have insufficient AP capabilities” and that’s not necessarily because they are lacking in talent, but also because of insufficient manpower.
Samsung has been trying to make its Exynos chips stand out from others and be on par with the premium offerings from Apple and Qualcomm. In line with that, the company switched from its Mongoose cores to ARM’s design, and the newly launched Exynos 2200 features GPU made in collaboration with AMD.
Google is returning to its pre-pandemic operations by bringing back staff to its offices in Silicon Valley. In trying to ensure a seamless transition back to its previous operations, Google has teamed up with Unagi to offer its employees free electric scooters via a program called Ride Scoot.
The Ride Scoot program will see the workers reimbursed for the full cost of a monthly subscription to Unagi’s Model One e-scooter. The Model One has a stated price of $990 and is well-suited for short commutes. The Model One is lightweight and has a dual-motor system that delivers a top speed of 34km/h and comes with a range of 26km.
The move is meant to help smoothen the transition back into the pre-pandemic work system. Google has made tremendous investments even during the pandemic period and hopes to do more as companies start returning to their lives. It however remains to be seen how the employees react to the new incentive.
The subscription will amount to $50 every month for the Unagi Model One. The subscription also bundles maintenance and insurance fees. Unagi will set up booths at the various Google offices to sign up employees at a discounted rate of $44.10 per month together with the $50 enrolment fee. There are elaborate plans in place to test run the program and ensure that users use the e-scooter at least nine times a month to guarantee reimbursement by Google.

India’s leading electric vehicles manufacturer Tata Motors has unveiled its new Curvv design to help it produce longer-range EVs. The company plans to deploy this new platform and the first EVs will be out by 2024 with bigger batteries and range up to 500km.
Tata Motors has seen a surge in the number of electric vehicles it has sold in India in the last two years and it is the leading local manufacturer of EVs in the subcontinent. The gradual growth in demand has been fueled by an incentive regime for manufacturers that cut across the central and regional governments. However, despite the incentives, EVs currently account for about 1% of vehicle sales in India, due mainly to their cost and lack of sufficient EV infrastructure.
The Curvv design will see Tata Motors manufacturing cars with bigger batteries and more efficient and shorter charging times for the batteries. The budding Indian EV market is still grappling with the high prices of EVs together with a dearth of charging infrastructure in several parts of the country. The new design will be based on a new architecture for electric models.
Tata Motors has made a huge investment in EV technology to deliver clean cars to the Indian market. It plans to raise more than $2 billion in equity funding focused on its EV unit research and development efforts. It has also had to grapple with the rising cost of battery cells and other components of EVs.

Krafton had seemingly ramped up its crackdown on accounts using unauthorized third-party programs in the BGMI game. It hopes to maintain a pleasant gaming environment for its teeming gamers.

This means that even if a defaulting gamer registers a new account, he would still be unable to play the game from his mobile device. The ban is a continuous process as the company seeks to safeguard its gaming platform from counterfeiting.

Design
If we talk about the design, the Realme GT 2 Pro is a more interesting phone: two of its three color options are built with a special bio-polymer resembling the tactile feedback of the paper. It is a sustainable material created to reduce carbon emissions. The design of the Realme GT 2 Pro is designed by the known Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa. The Motorola Edge 30 Pro has a classic glass back with a plastic frame and a not so impressive look, but it has a water repellent body and this may be interesting for those who want to use their phone in the rain. The GT 2 Pro is also a thinner phone.
Display
Realme GT 2 Pro wins even when it comes to the display specifications. It has an AMOLED panel with a diagonal of 6.7 inches, a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3216 pixels, one billion colors, an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, and the HDR10+ certification. It provides a higher level of detail and a superior image quality overall. The Motorola Edge 30 Pro has an OLED display as well with one billion colors, but it comes with a lower Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and it lacks the LTPO technology enabling the adaptive refresh rate. On the other hand, it has a higher 144 Hz refresh rate.
Specs & Software
The most important advantage of these two flagships is the presence of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform: it is actually the best Qualcomm SoC to date and it provides stunning performance in every usage scenario. The SoC is paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 native storage. In terms of performance, these phones are pretty similar, so it is a draw. They run Android 12 out of the box and we know that the GT 2 Pro will get three years of major Android updates and four years of updates with security patches, while the software support policies for the Motorola Edge 30 Pro are not very clear at the moment.
Camera
Both the Realme GT 2 Pro and the Motorola Edge 30 Pro are equipped with a 50 MP main camera supporting OIS and a 50 MP ultrawide sensor providing amazing photo quality if we consider the price range. The Realme GT 2 Pro replaces the useless 2 MP macro camera of the Motorola Edge 30 Pro with a more interesting 3 MP microscope lens with 40x magnification. On the other hand, the Motorola flagship has a better 60 MP selfie camera with 4K video recording.
The Realme GT 2 Pro is equipped with a bigger 5000 mAh battery, while the Edge 30 Pro stops at 4800 mAh. This should give the GT 2 Pro a slight battery life boost. The charging speeds are similar as the two phones feature 65W and 68W fast charging, respectively.
Price
You need about €750/$818 to grab a unit of the Motorola Edge 30 Pro or the Realme GT 2 Pro in the European market. Note that the Motorola Edge 30 Pro is known as the Edge X30 in the Chinese market. With the actual prices, the Realme GT 2 Pro wins the comparison thanks to a better display and bigger battery. But the differences between these two phones are not big, so you may still consider the Edge 30 Pro if you find it at a more affordable street price.

Last month, Samsung launched the budget range Galaxy A series smartphones like the A13 and A23 in India and other global markets. The devices come with in-house display panels, but that might change soon.
Samsung Galaxy A23 4G
According to a BusinessKorea report, the Chinese display maker BOE will provide the displays in the Galaxy A13 and A23 series smartphones starting May 2022.
But that’s not all as industry insiders have said that Samsung has proposed that BOE produces the display panels for its next-gen flagship smartphones. But as we know, the Samsung flagships feature the cutting edge LTPO technology OLED panels, and to meet their standards, Samsung Electronics has requested BOE to verify its technology first. Experts on the matter have stated that meeting the technical quality requirements such as thermal shocks and life tests will be the make or break of this potential deal.
As we know, Samsung is the main supplier of foldable display panels right now, so the Korean giant might be looking to free up some production capacity for their foldable panels by outsourcing the production of regular LCD and OLED panels from China’s BOE. On the topic of foldable, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is rumored to debut this year in the month of August. Additionally, the Google Pixel NotePad foldable smartphone is said to enter production in Q3 2022, so Samsung will likely need all the production capacity it can muster to keep up with the demand.
