There have been several rumors about the upcoming Apple iPhone 14 series smartphones, revealing what we should expect from the next-generation devices from one of the world’s largest smartphone brands.
Now, in a new development, it is being reported that the Apple iPhone 14 has entered into the trial production phase.
A report from UDN claims that the Apple iPhone 14’s design is currently in trial production which means that a small number of devices are being built which will be used to collect data that will be used for the mass production process.
The aim of this trial production is to find out if the design has any issues or problems or if there is any possibility of improvement for the product. This phase is also used to determine the production output capacity for the company as well as for developing the quality control procedures.
Interestingly, Luxshare, the company which is assembling the Apple iPhone 13 Pro, hasn’t received a production service order yet for the iPhone 14 series. It is being speculated that the company won’t get orders for the iPhone 14 Pro but instead, it will be assembling the base iPhone 14 model. Last year, Luxshare managed to receive 3 percent of the total iPhone 14 Pro orders.
The process of the production of the Apple iPhone usually beings in February with Apple issuing the orders to the manufacturers. After getting the service order, the manufacturers create a Bill of Materials (BOM) for the production and testing machines for quality control.

The presence of a bass duct in the Enco Air 2 further enhances the bass performance and enables the TWS earbuds to offer two new stereo sound effects, namely “pulsing bass” and “melodious vocal”.
As for the battery life, the OPPO Enco Air 2 can deliver up to 24 hours battery backup and is equipped with Bluetooth 5.2 for connectivity. The earphones also offer features like low latency mode for gaming, call noise reduction function, and have been improved upon issues such as synchronization issues, interference, and disconnection problems.

Nubia just launched the most impressive gaming phone of 2022 in terms of charging speeds: a lot of people would never expect the fastest charging technology out there on a gaming phone from a brand like Nubia, but it happened with the REDMAGIC 7 Pro. Meanwhile, Xiaomi decided to launch a new gaming phone as well: the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. As for now, these are the only real gaming phones released in 2022 and their specifications are simply impressive. Which one is the best and which offers the highest value for money? This comparison between their specifications will hopefully clear your ideas in regards to this question.

Design
The REDMAGIC 7 Pro comes with astonishing specifications, but it also comes with a bigger, thicker, and heavier body. Its dimensions are far from being compact and, if you want a good phone to use with one hand or to keep in a pocket, this is definitely not the best choice for you. But it is very original with its gaming-centric design available in a transparent color option. Further, it is built with premium materials, including a glass back and an aluminum frame. For those who search for an elegant phone, the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is a better option because it has a thinner, lighter, and more compact design. It does not have the incredible RGB lights of the REDMAGIC 7 Pro, but it is definitely a soberer phone. The REDMAGIC 7 Pro has pressure-sensitive zones on the rear side, while the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition comes with additional physical gaming triggers besides the classic physical keys.
Display
There should be no important differences between the displays in terms of image quality. The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is equipped with an AMOLED panel showing up to one billion colors with the Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and the HDR10+ certification; the panel has a 6.67-inch panel and the fingerprint reader is side-mounted. The REDMAGIC 7 Pro has an AMOLED display with one billion colors, a Full HD+ resolution, and a 120 Hz refresh rate as well, but it has a wider 6.8-inch diagonal and it sports an in-display fingerprint scanner. Further, it comes with an under-display camera by ZTE and it is one of the few commercial phones with this feature.
Specs & Software
Redmi K50 Gaming Edition and REDMAGIC 7 Pro are both powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform built at 4 nm and running at a max frequency of 3 GHz, so both are able to provide incredible performance in the most advanced usage scenarios such as hardcore gaming. However, the REDMAGIC 7 Pro will provide better performance for two reasons: first of all, it has better memory configurations including up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of internal storage. Further, it has a built-in cooling fan with higher heat dissipation capabilities, so it will most likely provide higher performance in long gaming sessions. These two phones run Android 12 out of the box.
Camera
These devices are not so impressive as camera phones, but they can be considered good midrange camera phones. The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition should be slightly better as it packs a 64 MP main camera with a brighter f/1.7 focal aperture, as well as an 8 MP ultrawide sensor and a 2 MP macro camera. Even the 20 MP front camera is better than the 16 MP front snapper of its rival.
The REDMAGIC 7 Pro has a bigger battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh. Further, it features faster charging with a power of 135W: the fastest charging technology out there.
Price
The Chinese starting price of the REDMAGIC 7 Pro roughly translates into €670/$757, while Redmi K50 Gaming Edition starts from €460/$520. The REDMAGIC gaming phone wins the comparison thanks to a wider panel, built-in cooling fan, bigger battery, faster charging, better memory configuration. But the Redmi flagship is more compact and it has a higher value for money.

Samsung only held the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 recently where several products like the flagship Galaxy S22 series and the Galaxy Tab S8 series were unveiled. The South Korean company is reportedly gearing up to introduce its next major product at MWC 2022 later this month, and it is the legendary Galaxy Book Pro 2 360 laptop. While more details are not yet known, Giznext has managed to get exclusive renders of the new phone.
Renders shared by industry tipster @OnLeaks show a burgundy variant of the 360° foldable laptop. The Galaxy Book Pro 2 360 is said to be codenamed “mars 2” on the original factory image file, meaning it will be the successor to the original Galaxy Book 360 model.
Although Samsung has yet to confirm the name of the new phone, it should be called the Galaxy Book Pro 2 360, going by the available details. Design-wise, only minor improvements can be seen in the renders. Aside from the roomier keyboard and larger trackpad, we can’t pick out any major design changes to its panel and hinge.
In addition to supporting a 360° foldable design, the bezel size of the screen is also very similar to the previous generation model. However, the leaked renders did not reveal if it supports the S Pen stylus.
Finally, sources say the Galaxy Book Pro 2 360 could feature a roughly 15-inch display, complemented by a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD card reader slot.
Huawei has just revealed that the company will be holding its Smart Office Spring Conference on February 27 at 9:30 PM in China. This is said to be a major launch event from the Chinese tech company which can potentially see the release of new smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other ecosystem products.
According to an ITHome report, the official teaser poster reveals four planets (or moons) circling a planet in the center. This could be interpreted as Huawei’s various venture avenues with the middle being a smartphone, and products such as notebooks, tablets, or headphones are the other four planets revolving around it. Other than that, it could be also be interpreted as the camera module of an upcoming smartphone as we have seen similar camera designs from the brand in the past.
The brand has not revealed any teasers of any upcoming smartphone yet, however, this event might reveal the Huawei P50 derivative and Mate 40 derivative devices which were recently spotted on the 3C certification database carrying model numbers NOH-AN50 and ABR-AL60 respectively.

In terms of the specs, the new Huawei MatePad 10.4 2022 model codenamed BAH4-AL10 will be equipped with HarmonyOS and have a 7150mAh battery, which is 100mAh higher than the previous generation.
The slate will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor which was found in a number of mid-range mobile phones in 2021. Thus, the tablet looks like a mid-range slate.
The display specification wasn’t listed but the MatePad 10.4 is tipped to packs a 1200P resolution screen which is actually a 16:10 version of 1080P resolution. This screen ratio is in line with Huawei’s consistent product design philosophy.
The tablet will also have a SIM card slot which means it won’t be a WiFI-only tablet but there is no support for 5G connectivity. However, compared to mobile phones, tablets do not seem to be particularly dependent on 5G networks.

Sony launched the Xperia 5 III back in October 2021, which was made available for US customers last month. The device features the Snapdragon 888 SoC and comes with an impressive triple camera setup. Now, rumors are afloat that Sony is working on the next device in the Xperia 5 lineup dubbed the Xperia 5 IV, which will be a compact phone packing a mighty punch.
According to a Weibo tipster, the Sony Xperia 5 IV will come with a 6.1-inch display with Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the front and the back panel of the device. The main improvement Sony will offer in the device is said to be the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chipset which will be based on TSMC’s 4nm node rather than Samsung’s 4nm node. The current Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC’s which are currently quite notorious for their thermal performance are based on Samsung’s 4nm node.
Sony Xperia 5 III
The battery is also said to get a slight bump in capacity compared to the Xperia 5 III, which houses a 4500mAh battery. So, we can expect a 4700mAh battery from the upcoming device.
Not much will change in the camera department according to the leaks. The phone will sport the same triple camera setup on the rear as its predecessor, comprising of an in-house 12MP primary camera sensor (IMX557) with OIS, a 12MP IMX363 sensor for the ultra-wide camera, and a 12MP telephoto camera with the IMX663 sensor, OIS, and 3x optical zoom capability.
The tipster has also hinted at a 5,000 yuan ($789) price tag, which is considerably cheaper than the Sony Xperia 5 III which launched in China at 6,599 yuan ($1,041). All this information, however, remains unsubstantiated, so we advise our readers to take it with a pinch of salt and stay tuned for more notable developments on the matter.

Last year’s Redmi K40 Gaming Edition was equipped with a Dimensity 1200 processor, which discouraged hardcore gamers from the device. But finally, this year, Redmi decided to give the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition the most powerful Qualcomm chip.
So has Redmi made a real gaming phone? Let’s find out.
REDMI K50 Gaming Edition REVIEW – Design and Display
The one we have in our hands is the silver model. Like last year, it is called K50 Gaming Edition, but the design doesn’t feel very “Gaming”. The metal frame with the AG frosted glass back feels similar to last year’s K40 Gaming Edition. The lens module has been changed from an oval to a rounded rectangle.
The lightning-shaped flash and the RGB lights around the lens have also been retained from the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition. However, the RGB light only lights up when you receive a message or when charging, which means it can’t light up during gameplay. This is very un-Gaming.
There’s also no headphone jack, which is something gamers would expect. The difference with the other phones is that it has an extra microphone port on the side. Of course, there are also the Xiaomi family’s exclusive physical shoulder buttons, which we’ll talk more about later. The IR blaster power of Redmi K50 Gaming has been improved, which can be used to remotely control devices up to 10 meters away. If you liked last year’s K40 Gaming Edition. I am sure you’ll love this year’s K50 Gaming Edition too.

Although the screen used in this year’s Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is from the same screen maker as last year’s, and the specs on paper are similar. But I have to compliment the screen. You don’t get the problem of rainbow lines when you tilt the screen. The Adaptive Colors option has been added. And it adopts 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, this dimming method can take into account the color accuracy and eye protection. That means you can say goodbye to DC dimming.
The screen protection glass has also been upgraded from the fifth-generation Corning Gorilla Glass to Corning Victus Glass. This screen is very good for gaming phones. Although the bezel is a little wider all around compared to the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition, the thicker bezel on the gaming phone prevents accidental touches. And it looks like its four sides are equal in width, so once you get used to it, you’ll think it’s still a beautiful screen.
REDMI K50 Gaming Edition REVIEW – Performance and Benchmarks
The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition finally uses the most powerful mobile chip in the Android camp at the moment, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Although it is said that even with the performance mode on, the scores on the various benchmarks are not as high as expected and even worse than some non-gaming phones. And unfortunately, the 3DMark stress test still cannot be completed successfully. So we did the CPU Throttling Test.
Compared to the Xiaomi 12 Pro, it’s hard to say who performs better. Of course, scores don’t tell the whole story. The gaming experience is the only way to judge a good or bad gaming phone, and the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition adds a very large X-axis linear motor for a good gaming experience. This motor gives quick and very powerful feedback and is really comparable to the motor of an iPhone. The experience is very good at typing and gaming. As for the upgraded shoulder buttons mentioned earlier. As with the K40 Gaming, it’s the same switch that allows the magnets to pop up the shoulder buttons.
In fact, it feels like there is no difference in the experience of the previous generation’s shoulder buttons. And it’s a shame that there are only a few customization functions, and they cannot be used in non-gaming apps, nor can they be used as a camera shutter button. But there is no denying that the physical buttons are more comfortable to press in gaming than the touch buttons of other non-gaming models. Compared to the Xiaomi 12 Pro Game Space, only the UI has changed. There are no changes in functionality. To hold down the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition has been custom-built with two special VC heat sinks using hexagonal boron nitride and graphene. That’s a lot of money for a heat sink.
PUBG Mobile Gaming
Let’s get straight to the gaming performance of the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. While a game like PUBG Mobile doesn’t have the slightest frame drop with 90FPS mode on, the maximum temperature doesn’t exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
Genshin Impact
The Genshin Impact, on the other hand, did not surprise us with its performance. The average frame rate is not as high as the Xiaomi 12 Pro and the stability is not as good as the OnePlus 10 Pro. The overall performance was moderate.
Brightride
Brightridge is not much different from the other two and even has a worse average frame rate. But the temperature was kept at 48 degrees Celsius. To be honest, although the Redmi K50 Gaming looks like a gaming phone, it plays like a normal flagship phone. Only the gaming temperature was well controlled, the gaming frame rate wasn’t as good as it should be. Given the cooling design of this phone, it should be able to perform better in terms of gaming. I can only hope for a better gaming experience later on with a system update.
REDMI K50G REVIEW – Cameras
No one should expect much from the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition in terms of photography. But in fact, it’s not as bad as one might expect. Even though it doesn’t use the same glass lens as last year’s K40 Gaming Edition for its main camera, it performs very well most of the time.
Especially at night, the performance was surprisingly good. There are some photos that aren’t even that much worse than the Mi 11 Ultra. Apart from the poorer image quality at the edges of the ultra-wide-angle camera shots, its camera performance is generally satisfactory. The main camera supports video recording at up to 4k 60fps and is full spec with EIS. Ultra-wide support up to 1080P 30fps. As for the Flicker Sensor, it does allow you to reduce the color ripple on the screen when shooting. But it doesn’t do much for recording video. When the frequency of the lights doesn’t match, there will still be the problem of flickering lights.

Did you see the JBL logo and the speakers that look like the grille? The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is on par with the Xiaomi 12 Pro in terms of speakers and also uses four-unit speakers. Two speakers are responsible for the high-frequency part of the sound, and the remaining two are responsible for the low-frequency part. It’s a stunning device to play music on, so let’s give it a try.
REDMI K50 Gaming Edition REVIEW – Charging & Battery Life
The charger is included in the box. The Type-C charging cable is L-shaped and is longer than the ones given with other phones.
Charging power is 120W. Five minutes to charge 43%, ten minutes to charge 71% in, and only 19 minutes to fully charge. Thanks to the excellent heat dissipation design, the K50 Gaming Edition also has improved charging speed while playing games.
With the same 120W charging power, the Xiaomi 12 Pro can only be charged to 19% in five minutes while playing the game, but the K50 Gaming Edition can be charged to 33%. The battery capacity is not quite 5000mAh, but it’s not small either.
Tiktok and online videos both consume 6% and the three games consume 9%, 15%, and 15% respectively. While the Redmi K50 Gaming does consume quite a bit of power, considering this has 120w of charging power and the ability to charge while playing is also very fast. I am able to live with that.
REDMI K50 Gaming Edition REVIEW – Verdict
To conclude, the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is indeed better than last year, with significant improvements in all aspects. It doesn’t quite live up to our expectations in terms of gaming, but its performance is average for Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 phones this year. It is also very good in terms of audio and video.
Apart from the camera, which is weak in its price range, there are no other obvious shortcomings. This year, it is also finally possible to use GMS without any problems. I can recommend this phone to everyone, except for those who like to take very high-quality pictures and for those who hate its design.
