Earlier this year, it was reported that LG was considering exiting the mobile phone market but the Korean giant denied the report. Later details surfaced that it was considering selling its mobile division, wich was then followed with another report that said negotiations with potential buyers fell through and that it will instead shut down the business.
The latest news from Korea via The Korea Times says that LG may announce its exit from the smartphone market next week. The report specifically says the announcement will be made on Monday, April 5, after the board decides the fate of the loss-making arm of the company.
A Twitter user by the name @FrontTron said a few days ago that LG’s plans for the 4000 workers from its mobile division is to assign them to its Changwon home appliance factory.
LG Update:
Remaining employees in the LG MC division will be assigned to the Changwon home appliance factory next week This is the procedure of dismantling the entire 4,000 employees of the LG phone division. Rollable was an unfinished model used to increase the … (1/3) https://t.co/xoQdt7iFL5
The tweet also said that the LG Rollable will be unfinished as there wasn’t an agreed price to sell the device. This means we shouldn’t expect a commercial version of the LG Rollable that was first announced at CES 2021. Also, since the tweet says that the LG Wing is the manufacturer’s last major product, the chances of the LG Stylo 7 launching seem to be pretty low. It also means that the LG W41 series is the last set of mobile phones the manufacturer announced in India.
Caterpillar has been a leading manufacturer of heavy-duty machinery, and the Caterpillar brand is popular with tractors, bulldozers, and other heavyweight vehicles. The caterpillar brand’s ruggedness is now being replicated in the Caterpillar phone franchise owned by Bullit Group. The Cat S62 Pro has now been introduced to the United States market and sells at $699.
The Cat S62 Pro is a rugged and well-kitted smartphone with a well-developed integrated thermal imaging camera system that will be handy for construction and other industrial workers. The S62 Pro is an improvement of the previous Caterpillar model, the S61, which was launched in 2018 at $900. The S62 Pro was first introduced to the UK market in 2020, and its most significant selling points are its sheer ruggedness and affordability.
With its ruggedness, the Cat S62 Pro smartphone also has some impressive features. These include its well-developed Flir thermal imaging camera with several modes of operation.
The S62 Pro is unaffected when immersed in water because of its strong waterproof capabilities. It can withstand the ruggedness of work conditions in industrial complexes and can withstand falls on hard surfaces due to its Gorilla Glass 6 screen. The thermal and sound thresholds of the S62 Pro are also very high.
A Snapdragon 660 chipset provides processor resources for the device. The S62 Pro has a 5.7-inch display with 6GB/ 128GB of RAM and internal storage, respectively, and a 4,000mAh battery, which are decent features for phones at the middle of the cost spectrum. The Snapdragon 660 chipset indicates that the S62 Pro does not have 5G support, which could be seen as a drawback. The S62 Pro has a smaller battery capacity than its predecessor, the S61, and a couple of essential sensors (air quality and distance measurement) are absent in the S62 Pro.
The Caterpillar S62 Pro smartphone is available from Cat phones’ official website and Amazon at $699 for US customers.
After releasing the vanilla Xiaomi Mi 11 a few months ago, during the big event held on March 29, Xiaomi came up with four new handsets of the Mi 11 series, three of which are flagships! Design
If you desire to have the most beautiful design of the Mi 11 series, you should go either for the Xiaomi Mi 11 or the Mi 11 Pro. They feature exactly the same design including a display with curved edges and a compact camera module. But there is an important difference between these two handsets if we talk about the build quality: the Mi 11 Pro is waterproof with the IP68 certification, while the vanilla Mi 11 does not offer any kind of certification against water and dust. The Xiaomi Mi 11i is less attractive due to its uglier camera module and flat display with a lower screen-to-body ratio, but it is more compact than Mi 11 and 11 Pro.
Display
Do you need the best display? Then, again, you need to go either for the Xiaomi Mi 11 or the Mi 11 Pro. They come with the same high-end display: an AMOLED panel that shows up to one billion colors, with a 120 Hz refresh rate, brightness up to 1500 nits, and the HDR10+ certification, as well as the high Quad HD+ resolution. The Xiaomi Mi 11i has a cheaper panel with a Full HD+ resolution, lower brightness, and a lower amount of colors, but it retains the HDR10+ certification and a 120 Hz refresh rate.
Hardware/Software
Xiaomi Mi 11, Mi 11i, and Mi 11 Pro are all fueled by the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform, which is actually the best SoC released by Qualcomm and provides flagship-class performance. You can get up to 12 GB of RAM with the vanilla Mi 11 and the Mi 11 Pro, while the Mi 11i only comes with 8 GB of RAM. The maximum amount of internal storage is the same: 256 GB UFS 3.1. All the phones run Android 11 customized by MIUI, but the Mi 11 Pro runs MIUI 12.5 out of the box, instead of MIUI 12.
Camera
The most advanced camera department belongs to the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro: it is composed of a 50 MP main sensor with OIS, a periscope sensor with OIS and 5x optical zoom, and a 13 MP ultrawide sensor. The Xiaomi Mi 11 and the Mi 11i lack a periscope sensor and they do not even have a telephoto lens. The Mi 11 is actually better than the Mi 11i because it comes with OIS and a better ultrawide camera (with a higher 13 MP resolution).
Battery
With the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro, you get the biggest battery (5000 mAh) and the longest battery life. Further, it supports the fastest wired charging technology and the fastest wireless charging technology with 67W power. Xiaomi Mi 11 has wireless charging too, but with slower speeds, while Mi 11i lacks wireless charging.
Xiaomi Mi 11 vs Xiaomi Mi 11i vs Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro: Price
Xiaomi Mi 11 launched in the global market with a €799/$940 starting price, while Mi 11i will sell for €649/$765 in its base variant. The Mi 11 Pro only debuted in China and it is not available globally. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro obviously wins the comparison with its better cameras, bigger battery, and faster charging speeds, but the Xiaomi Mi 11i has the highest value for money while still retaining the Snapdragon 888 chipset.

The Hands-on video did feature how a user can stream or watch videos seamlessly and have a lag-free online gaming experience via the 5G network. The Moto G60 is an upcoming phone from Motorola. Earlier today renders of the smartphone were posted on the web. Now, more details have surfaced and it says that the phone will launch as the Moto G40 Fusion in select markets.
Moto G60 render
According to a post by Techniknews in collaboration with Halabtech and Adam Conway of XDA Developers, the Moto G60 originally had two versions – “Hanoip” and “Hanoi”, but the two devices were merged and only “Hanoip” remained. However, it appears Motorola still has two versions of the phone for different markets.
The post reveals that the phone will be sold as the Motorola G60 in Europe and will have a 108MP primary camera while in India and Brazil, the phone will be sold as the Moto G40 Fusion and will have a 64MP primary camera but that’s not where the differences end.
In Europe, the Moto G60 will have an 8MP ultrawide angle camera and a 2MP depth sensor. It will also have a 32MP selfie camera. The Indian version will also have an 8MP ultrawide angle camera and a 2MP depth sensor but have a 16MP front-facing camera.
The Moto G40 Fusion will come in two configurations – 4GB RAM + 64GB of storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB of storage. In Europe, the phone will come in only one configuration with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and will have NFC, a feature not available for the Indian version.
Both phones will have a 6000mAh battery capacity. They will also have a 6.78-inch FHD+ 120Hz display according to XDA Developers but there is no confirmation on the type of panel it is. It has also been reported that they will have a Google Assistant key, a 3.5mm audio jack, and be available in Gray (with green) and gray (with brown).
If you thought the Mi 11 was going to be Xiaomi’s top-tier flagship for 2021, you were wrong. The Chinese giant just came up with the Mi 11 Ultra bringing maxed-out specifications to the market alongside a lot of innovation. A lot of people did not expect such an advanced phone and maybe the concurrence too. Here is a comparison between the most advanced flagships in the Android world, at least until now: Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, and OPPO Find X3 Pro.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra vs Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra vs OPPO Find X3 Pro
If you just need the most beautiful design, you should go for the OPPO Find X3 Pro, in my honest opinion. Its clean and incredibly elegant design is made with a process lasting 40 hours involving high temperatures up to 700 °C in order to make a back glass full of curves and without interruptions. The handset also comes in a special leather variant called Cosmic Mocha. On the other hand, Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is still made of very premium materials, including a ceramic back, but it is definitely less attractive with that huge camera module.
Display
All of these devices are equipped with astonishing displays which earned the A+ vote from DisplayMate. They feature Quad HD+ resolutions, they can show up to one billion colors and they even come with adaptive refresh rates thanks to the LTPO technology. You should not make your choice by evaluating the displays since the differences are marginal.
Specs & Software
Even on the hardware side, these devices are very similar. They are all flagships with the best hardware department you can expect in 2021. With the exception of the European variant of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, they are all powered by the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform paired with UFS 3.1 native storage. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is the only one to offer a memory configuration with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of native storage, while the others stop at 12/256 GB.
Camera
There are a lot of things to say about the cameras of these handsets. They are all impressive camera phones and it is hard to say which one is literally the best. According to DxOMark, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is the best camera phone out there, but the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has better zoom capabilities with its 10x optical zoom. The OPPO Find X3 Pro offers better macro performance thanks to its 3 MP microlens sporting up to 60x magnification. With the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, you can shoot selfies with the rear cameras thanks to the secondary display on the rear side. Each device has its pro and cons, but each is an amazing camera phone.
You should not notice huge differences even when it comes to battery life. The OPPO Find X3 Pro should be the most disappointing one since it has a smaller 4500 mAh battery, but the advantage of this device is the fact that it has a more compact device. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra have similar specifications (in terms of energy consumption) and the same battery capacity, but with the Mi 11 Ultra, you get the highest charging speeds.
Price
You can find Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, and OPPO Find X3 Pro in the global market with prices ranging from €1100/$1300 to €1200/$1413 (prices vary depending on the region). At least until we tested every device thoroughly, we can not establish a winner for this comparison. The OPPO Find X3 Pro has the best design, Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra comes with the most interesting camera department, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is the only one to support the S Pen. Each one has its advantage and disadvantages and the one to go for depends on your actual needs. Which one would you pick?
Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra vs Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra vs OPPO Find X3 Pro: PRO and CONS
Samsung launched the Galaxy SmartTag and Galaxy SmartTag+ object trackers at the January 14 event. However, the company didn’t specify a proper release date for the ‘+’ variant. That ends today as it is up for pre-orders in the USA.
As reported by droid-life, US retailer B&H Photo is currently taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag+. The website has listed two colors of the tracker- Black and Denim Blue. As mentioned at the launch, it is listed for $39.99 in the USA.
Out of this, the Denim Blue variant doesn’t have a shipping date yet but the page on the Black version shows that the product will start shipping from April 12.
Galaxy SmartTag+ Features
That said, the Galaxy SmartTag+ has a few advantages over the standard version to justify the extra $10 price tag. First, the Plus version measures 4.6 x 4.6 x 1.1 cm which is slightly higher than the Galaxy SmartTag. As for features, it has both Bluetooth 5.0 LE and UWB whereas the standard version only has Bluetooth 5.0.
UWB is Ultra Wide Bandwidth. This gives a precise location as you get closer to the object. Speaking of which, there is a hole for the lanyard/a thread to tie the Galaxy SmartTag+ to an object like Keys, Backpacks, Bicycles, Wallets, etc. It is made of plastic and has a 220mAh battery inside and IP53 certified.
One more advantage of the SmartTag+ is while using the SmartThings Find app, it enables an AR mode to show the location estimate so that you can track the object that is tied to the Bluetooth tracker more accurately. The signals sent in the process are end-end encrypted and have a Privacy ID for safety.
Apart from this, Samsung has provided a single button on the Galaxy SmartTag+ that can be used to send alerts, do other Smart IoT functions like starting Home lights, TV, Smart Speakers etc.
A Pakistan High Court has rescinded its March 11 order mandating the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) to ban TikTok in Pakistan. The current ban, which is not the first in recent times, was made after a petition was submitted which accused the Chinese-owned social media platform of not monitoring and curbing immoral content. The PTA had given an earlier ban on similar accusations in October 2020. After ten days, the ban was lifted on the assurance that the owners of TikTok, ByteDance, will do the necessary moderation of obscene content on the social media app.
The Chief Executive of Pakistan Telecommunications Authority, during the hearing in Peshawar on Thursday, told the court that TikTok had agreed to appoint a focal person that will be responsible for monitoring and moderation of immoral content such as obscenities, nudity, and blasphemy on the TikTok platform. The High Court Judge, Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan, said during the hearing that the action of PTA in censuring indecent content would help to maintain the high quality of decency expected of TikTok.
In a statement Thursday after the Court ruling, TikTok acknowledged the PTA and its support during the ban. TikTok also affirmed that it appreciates the regulator’s vigilance and care for Pakistani users’ digital experience overall.
The substantive case from the petition lodged against TikTok will be heard by the court when it reconvenes on May 25. TikTok had increased the number of users in Pakistan, catching the attention of millions of Pakistanis who share and view the content of different genres on the social media platform.
Chinese tech giant ZTE took the wraps off the S30 series made up of the ZTE S30, S30 Pro, and S30 SE on March 30. The company also launched a smartwatch dubbed Watch GT and which has a price tag of less than $100. What you may not know is that ZTE equally unveiled a new TWS earbuds product. The product is dubbed ZTE LiveBuds SE and seems to be a trimmed-down version of the ZTE LiveBuds that was launched last year.
The LiveBuds SE utilizes a semi-in-ear design that is starkly different from those of the LiveBuds. This version looks cheaper and is indeed cheaper than its predecessor. The earbuds also feature long stems which should make for a better audio reception when making calls.
Buyers can avail themselves of the ZTE LiveBuds SE in both black or white color options. The gadget has a carry case that doubles as the charging case with an oval shape. The charging case has a 550mAH battery that can extend usage to up to 7 days.
The earbuds are designed to be gentle on the ears as they adopt a lightweight design and equally have an IPX4 waterproof rating which should protect against light rainfall and sweat.
As for the price, the LiveBuds SE carries a retail price of RMB 149 (~$23) in China. We can’t say when ZTE will bring the product to other markets but we expect it to be unveiled alongside the smartphones and Watch GT whenever ZTE plans to ship to the west coast.
Wireless earphones are having their best run in the wearable market currently, thanks to a surge in video conferencing and virtual meetings as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic. This is the right time for ZTE to ship these affordable products abroad.

Last July, Qualcommannounced Quick Charge 5, its latest charging protocol that brings support for 100W+ charging to mobile phones. So far, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra and the ROG Phone 5 series are the only phones that support the charging protocol. The Baseus Gan Fast Charger 100W, as it is officially called, is a single-port USB-C power brick. The charger has a black/white casing with a foldable plug design and an LED at the corner. The manufacturer says it has BCT (Baseus Cooling Technology) which “uses nanotechnology to accelerate cooling”. Apart from being Quick Charge 5 certified, the charger also supports other charging protocols such as Quick Charge 4.0+, Power Delivery 3.0, and PPS.

Motorola launched the Motorola One Hyper in December 2020 as its first pop-up selfie camera smartphone. This handset debuted with Android 10. Now, more than a year after its release, this device has finally started receiving the Android 11 update.
Back in late December 2020, Motorola released a list of smartphones that will be updated to Android 11. But unfortunately, the company did not reveal when these phones will be receiving the update.
Anyway, the Lenovo-owned brand started rolling out last year’s Android update starting with Moto G Pro in late January. Few handsets later, this update is now finally being seeded out to Motorola One Hyper.
As of now, the Motorola One Hyper Android 11 update is live in Brazil. According to PiunikaWeb, the update for this region comes with build number RPF31.Q1-21-20. Apart from bringing new features, the latest system update for this device also bumps up the security patch level to March 2021.
That said, like any other OTA update, this one is also being rolled out in batches. Therefore, it may take time to reach every unit in the country. Similarly, we can also expect Motorola to start seeding out the update in other regions in the coming days.
OnePlus is rolling a new update to the newly launched OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. However, unlike the first, this one seems to be a big one with a lot of bug fixes and an update to the security patch.
OnePlus 9 devices suffered from safety net failure issues leading to failed digital payments even before they went on sale. This was pointed by a lot of reviewers who got their review units early. Thankfully, OnePlus has sorted out the issue.
Talking about the latest OxygenOS 11.2.2.2 update weighing about 378MB in size, the focus seems to be more on improving the charging, haptics, more bug fixes, and a March 2021 security patch. You can take a look at the changelog below:
System
Improved the charging stability to provide a better user experience
Improved WhatsApp’s video clarity when giving video calls
Improved the vibrating performance of games such as Call of Duty and PUBG
Fixed the issue that the time of Last Full Charge is reset after restarting the device
Fixed the issue that the icon showing low battery is not displayed in the status bar
Fixed the small probability issue that the device may restart when playing games
Fixed known issues and improved system stability
Updated Android security patch to 2021.03

Fixed the issue that the navigation bar of split-screen apps might not be adapted to Dark Mode
Camera

Early birds who grabbed the devices as soon as they went on sale, if you haven’t got the update yet, we suggest you wait for a while. However, if you are someone in Europe and are impatient, you can download the full OTA package here- OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro.

OPPO is working on several smartphones including OPPO F, and A series apart from the reno series of devices. Also, we are already talking about the reno6 series launching in China. And add to this, a new TENAA listing reveals key specs and images of the OPPO PEXM00.
The OPPO smartphone appearing on China’s TENAA with model number PEXM00 is a 5G mobile device. Recently, OPPO has transitioned itself into launching both 5G and 4G versions of devices according to the market needs and one such example is the recent OPPO A74, OPPO A54 devices.
OPPO’s reno series of devices recently have had the PE_M00, PD__M00 model numbers while the F and A series have been spotted with CPHxx. Even this hasn’t been constant as OPPO A55, A93 5G has PEMM00 and PEMM00 respectively. Hence, we aren’t sure about the name of the device in question just yet.
Talking about the specs, the listing shows that the device measures 159.1×73.4×7.9mm. The images show that the device has a Triple-camera setup like the F and A series devices but there is a yellow line separating the sensors and the LED flash. The blue color variant listed has a power button on the right, volume buttons to the left.
1 of 4
Further, the listing also shows that the device has a 6.43-inch display on the front. The device also has a dual-cell battery with 2100mAh as each cell’s capacity.
In addition to the TENAA images vaguely showing the camera specs, the camerafv5’s database suggests that the OPPO PEXM00 could have a 64MP main camera and a 32MP selfie shooter. Other specs include a SA/NSA 5G and Android 11 OS.
Huawei officially released its self-developed Huawei Mobile Service (HMS) for the overseas market in early 2020. The mobile service was launched as a replacement for Google Mobile Service which the company was required to remove from its Android fork EMUI after the US government imposed sanctions on the company. The removal of affected smartphones released after the ban was imposed in 2019.
Huawei later revealed that the service has been in development for quite some time but the abrupt ban made the company fast track the process. Just last week, Skullcandy launched the Indy ANC truly wireless earphones in India. And now, the American audio brand has released another TWS in the country called Skullcandy Dime. Unlike the last one, this one’s an affordable model targeted at first-time earbuds buyers.
Skullcandy Dime Specifications and Features
The newly launched Skullcandy Dime TWS features a unique design. These earbuds along with their case are shorter than a regular car key fob. The case measures only 2.45-inch long and 1.53-inch wide. As far as colors are concerned, buyers can pick them up in either True Black, Dark Blue/Green, or Chill Grey.
Talking about tech specs, these earbuds sport 6mm drivers and connect with devices via Bluetooth 5.0. Each earbud can be used separately for both listening to music and calls. Also, they have a physical button on each for volume control, changing tracks, and accepting/declining calls.

The only major con of this TWS is its battery life. Because Skullcandy only claims 3.5 hours on a single charge (20mAh battery in each bud) and an additional 8.5 hours from the charging case (150mAh battery) that charges via MicroUSB and has a lanyard. Hence, as per the company, users can only get up to 12-hour battery life.
Last but not least, the buds are IPX4 water-resistant and ship with S, M, and L-shaped ear tips and a MicroUSB cable.
Skullcandy Dime Price and Availability
The Skullcandy Dime truly wireless earphones are priced at ₹2,249 ($31) in India. The earbuds are already up for pre-order on the brand’s official website. They will start shipping from April 4.
