Apple will be launching its flagship next-generation iPhone 12 series smartphones this fall. As per the reports, the company is expected to launch four variants this time, which include iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Now, a new report has surfaced online which reveals key details about the screen or display of the upcoming devices. As per the report, these four smartphone models will come in three different screen sizes.

iPhone 12 Render

The standard iPhone 12 will have a 5.4-inch display with support for screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, offering 475 PPI pixel density. The Max variant, on the other hand, will have a 6.1-inch panel with 2532 x 1170 pixels resolution and 460 PPI density.

The iPhone 12 Pro will also come with a 6.1-inch display but will have 2532 x 1170 pixels screen resolution with 460 PPI. And the top-end variant, iPhone 12 Pro Max with having a massive 6.7-inch screen with 2778 x 1284 pixels resolution and 458 PPI.

Except for the iPhone 12 Max, all the other three models will be equipped with a display panel from Samsung Display. The iPhone 12 Max will be sourcing display panels from either LG Display or BOE. But since the first batch of panels from BOE has not yet passed Apple’s test, the initial units could have LG panels only.

In terms of design, the tech giant will continue with the same full-screen display design with narrow edges and a notch in the middle. The Pro variant phones will come with 10-bit color depth and will feature a 120Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, all four models will come powered by the Apple A14 chipset which is being manufactured using the 5nm node process. Another major feature that these devices will bring is the support for 5G connectivity.

As for the camera department, the iPhone 12 and 12 Max will have dual camera sensors on the back while the Pro and Pro Max will feature a triple-camera setup. Reports indicate that there will be no change in the design of the rear camera module.

The reports claim that the iPhone 12 could now start at $649, making it more affordable than last year’s iPhone 11. But, there are new reports which claim that the company could also launch a 4G-only model of iPhone which could be priced even lower.

Samsung Galaxy M01s, Galaxy Watch 3 receive BIS approval

Earlier this month, Samsung unveiled the Samsung Galaxy M01 entry-level smartphone in India. The model number of the smartphone is SM-M015F/G. A new variant of the same phone with model number SM-M017F/DS has received approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). It could be the enhanced version of the phone called Galaxy M01s. The same authority has also certified the Galaxy Watch 3. These certifications hint that the Galaxy M01s and Galaxy Watch 3 will be arriving in India in the near future.

The BIS authority has approved SM-R845F, SM-R855F, and SM-R850 variants of the Galaxy Watch 3. These model numbers were also spotted in Bluetooth SIG certification recently.  They are said to be the model numbers of the 41mm and 45mm editions of the Galway Watch 4. The Galaxy Watch 2 successor is expected to debut as early as next month globally. However, there is no confirmation on when it will be arriving in India.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 BIS certified

Samsung Galaxy M01s BIS certified

As far as the Galaxy M01s is concerned, it appeared on Geekbench last month with specs like Helio P22, 3 GB of RAM, and Android 9 Pie OS. Its Wi-Fi certification revealed that it only supports the 2.4GHz spectrum. The other specs of the Galaxy M01s are under wraps.

Redmi 9 pre-sale to start on June 24 in China

Spain and Malaysia were the first markets to receive the Xiaomi Redmi 9 smartphone. Xiaomi’s brand Redmi recently started teasing the arrival of Redmi 9 in China. Today, the company confirmed that the pre-sale of the Redmi 9 will be carried out on June 24 in the home market.

Redmi 9 pre-sale to start on June 24 in China

Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 9 series in India in March. Soon after its launch, it was reported that the Redmi Note 9 series will not be releasing in China as the company will be focusing on selling 5G-ready Redmi phones in the country. However, it recently launched a 4G version of the Redmi 10X and the upcoming Redmi 9 is also a 4G phone. It is speculated that the Redmi 9 could be the last 4G phone from the company in China.

Currently, the Redmi 10X 5G with a starting price of 1,599 Yuan (~$226) is the cheapest 5G phone from the brand. It will take only a few months for 5G phones to arrive with 999 Yuan (~$141) starting price in China.

Coming back to Xiaomi Redmi 9 for China, it is speculated to arrive in new configurations such as 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage. In Spain and Malaysia, the Redmi 9 is available in 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage versions and colors like Carbon Gray, Sunset Purple and Ocean Green. OnePlus Z (Nord) price could be around $299

OnePlus made a sensational debut in the smartphone market with ‘flagship killer’ tagline for the OnePlus One phone in 2014. On Friday, the Carl Pei who is one of the co-founders of OnePlus reposted OnePlus One’s announcement tweet from 2014 along with text that read, “It’s been a while…” The handset had launched with an impressive price tag of $299. Probably, the tweet could be hinting the price of the OnePlus Z (or OnePlus Nord) mid-range 5G phone that is expected to debut next month.

The OnePlus One came with a price tag of $299 for its 16 GB storage version. The higher 64 GB model came with a pricing of $349. Recently, the specifications of the upcoming mid-ranger from the company were spotted in a survey site in India. The listing didn’t confirm the name of the device. However, its details matched with the rumored specs of the OnePlus Z.  The listing stated that the phone is priced at Rs. 24,990 (~$328).

Hence, there is a possibility that the OnePlus Nord could be priced around $299 to $349 or under $399. If it arrives with a similar pricing, it could be a good rival for the iPhone SE 2020 that is available for $399 in the market.

OnePlus Z (OnePlus Nord) specifications

The OnePlus Z survey listing revealed that it will have a 6.55-inch S-AMOLED display that offers Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 765 is said to power the device with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

It may come with a 16-megapixel front camera and a 64-megapixel + 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera setup on its rear. The handset may house a 4,300mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.

It is still unclear whether the handset will debut as OnePlus Z or OnePlus Nord. Rumors have it that it may debut on July 10 in India.

Another tipster has revealed that the phone features a side-facing fingerprint scanner which indicates that the phone could be fitted with an IPS LCD panel.

The MediaTek Dimensity 800 5G SoC processor fuels the Honor X10 Max. It is housed with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 22.5W rapid charging. The RAM and storage configurations of the smartphone are not revealed in this leak.

The Android 10 OS along with Magic UI 3.1.1 runs on the Honor X10 Max. It has a front camera of 8-megapixel. The rear camera setup includes a primary shooter of 48-megapixel. Samsung may likely launch its next-gen flagship tablet during the August 5 event that is also projected to be the Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Fold 2, Z Flip 5G and Watch series unveil event.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 has been tipped to also have a Galaxy Tab S7+ sibling and that has no been confirmed. The tablet has been certified by both TUV Rheinland and Safety Korea certifications. Realme X3 with 12GB of RAM appears on GeekBench

Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth recently confirm the company was working on the Realme X3 which he referred to as the company’s next flagship. The model has been confirmed to launch alongside the Realme X3 Zoom on June 25.Realme X3

The Realme X3 has now been spotted on benchmark database GeekBench. The device appears with model number RMX2085 and it is listed to have a 12GB RAM onboard. Earlier, the X3 was rumoured to have an 8GB RAM onboard and we can assume there will be more than one RAM variants. However, the single and multi-core scores are not in the terrain of Snapdragon 865-powered models. The model posted a GeekBench 4 single-core score of 2307 and multi-core score of 8216.

The flagship variant is likely the Realme X3 Pro (RMX2121) which disappeared on TENAA and AnTuTu powered by a Snapdragon 865 SoC. The X3 will feature a Snapdragon 855+ chipset going by an earlier Google Play Console listing. This places it in the same terrain as the X3 Super Zoom also powered by SDM855+. The Play Console listing includes a display resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels, 8GB RAM and Android 10 OS.

Xiaomi crowdfunds the Wanbo T2 Free Projector priced at 599 yuan (~$85)

Xiaomi has launched a new projector under the Youpin crowdfunding platform. Dubbed Wanbo T2 Free Projector, it carries an affordable price tag of 599 yuan (~$85).Wanbo T2 Free Projector

The Wanbo T2 Free Projector has a 150 ANSI lumen light source and is compatible with 1080 pixel resolution. The device can project on screen sizes ranging from 40 – 120 inches from a distance of 1.5-3.0 meters. The projector will need to be focused manually and the scrolling button to do that is located at the rear. It also supports ±40° vertical keystone correction.Wanbo T2 Free Projector

Projectors are known to be affected by dust especially when it settles on the lens, causing black spots on the screen and poor heat dissipation in the optical part.  The Wanbo T2 Free uses a fully enclosed internal circulation heat dissipation optical machine technology. The design can completely eliminate the impact of the buildup of dust on the optical path and thus extend the lifespan of the projector.Wanbo T2 Free Projector

In addition, the projector uses diffuse reflection technology. Compared with self-illumination imaging, diffuse reflection imaging is softer thus exerting less strain on the eyes when viewed for a long time.

The Wanbo T2 Free Projector is equipped with two 3W speakers located at the left and right side. There is also a turbo fan inside the projector that circulates the heat inside the machine and dissipates the heat of the LCD screen from the inside of the device. The two fans inside the fuselage guide the airflow from the rear radiator and chip processor Pass, thereby prolonging the life of the LED lamp. With good heat dissipation, the life of the LED bulb is up to 20,000 hours.

At the back, the projector features an HDMI, AV and other input interfaces which is convenient for connecting devices such as notebooks and TV boxes.

This is what the Realme C11 looks like

The Realme C11 is an upcoming budget smartphone from Realme. The phone is going to be the first to come with the yet-to-be-announced Helio G35 processor. It is also supposed to be the first Realme phone to feature a design different from what we have seen in past models.

Realme already released a few teaser images and one of them showed the back of the phone but with the camera area covered. An image has been posted on twitter by a user that goes by @i_am_myself7 that leaves nothing to the imagination and bares it all with respect to the phone’s appearance.

Realme C11

The image shows the Realme C11 will have a waterdrop notch like most of the other phones in the Realme C series (old habits die hard). The bezels are slim but the one at the bottom is thicker than the rest.

The back is where the big change is. Realme has ditched its practically overused design for the new and trendy square camera housing made popular by the Pixel 4 series. The camera housing holds two cameras whose specs are unknown and an LED flash. There is no fingerprint scanner on the device which means folks will have to make do with PIN, password, or pattern to keep their phone secure.

According to the poster, the Realme C11 will pack a 6.5” Mini-drop full-screen display, a massive 5000mAh battery, and Nightscape dual cameras. It is also shown to have an audio jack at the bottom.

The Realme C11 should launch soon in Malaysia and when it does, it will be available in grey and green.

Now, the Chinese giant can compete with the most advanced handsets from other companies belonging to BBK Electronics. Indeed, if you are looking for the most advanced device released by a BBK Electronics subsidiary (not only in terms of performances but also cameras and other features), you have three main choices: Vivo X50 Pro+, OnePlus 8 Pro and Oppo Find X2 Pro. After reading this comparison, you will know the differences between these three handsets and, hopefully, you will be able to evaluate which device fits your needs the most.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES Dual SIM slot, reverse wireless charging 3W, IP68 waterproof Waterproof IP68, 5G Dual SIM slot, 5G

Design

The most amazing design belongs to the Oppo Find X2 Pro. It is made of unique materials if compared to other flagships released this year. It comes in two variants: one with a leather back and one with a ceramic body, instead of the usual glass + aluminum sandwich you can find on other flagships such as the OnePlus 8 Pro. Further, just like the OnePlus 8 Pro, the Oppo Find X2 Pro is waterproof with the IP68 certification, while Vivo X50 Pro+ does not have any protection against water and dust. Vivo X50 Pro+ has a leather variant as well, but due to its huge camera module, I prefer the Oppo Find X2 Pro. Note that the SIM tray of the Oppo Find X2 Pro houses just a single SIM card slot in the global market.

Display

Oppo Find X2 Pro and OnePlus 8 Pro have more or less the same display specifications, but in my opinion, the Oppo Find X2 Pro offers a slightly better image quality. On the other hand, OnePlus 8 Pro has a slightly wider panel with a 6.78-inch diagonal. There is no way Vivo X50 Pro+ can compete with its two rivals since it has a lower Full HD+ resolution, but it is a more compact device with its smaller diagonal.

Hardware/Software

With the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform, up to 12 GB of RAM and UFS 3.0 internal storage, you can get more or less the same hardware department with Vivo X50 Pro+, OnePlus 8 Pro and Oppo Find X2 Pro. So you should not worry so much about performances: all of them are powerful flagships with the best hardware you can get in 2020. What changes is the software: Vivo X50 Pro+ and Oppo Find X2 Pro run Funtouch OS and ColorOS with a more customized user interface, while OnePlus 8 Pro runs Oxygen OS which is closer to stock Android.

Camera

It is very hard to pick a winner of the camera comparison because these devices are able to click amazing photos in each environment and they have different pros in each scenario. The cameras which convinced me the most are the ones found Oppo Find X2 Pro, despite it has a lower amount of sensors on the rear side. It has amazing autofocus and a great 5x optical zoom. The silver medal goes to the Vivo X50 Pro+ with its quad camera including a periscope lens with 5x optical zoom and a portrait lens with 2x optical zoom. But it actually has a better stabilization and it is better for videos.

Battery

OnePlus 8 Pro has the biggest battery, but the Oppo Find X2 Pro is optimized very well and its battery is long-lasting like the OnePlus 8 Pro. But in a lot of scenarios, you should get a longer battery life with the Vivo X50 Pro+ because it has a lower display resolution (FHD+ instead of QHD+). Oppo Find X2 Pro has the fastest charging technology (65W), while OnePlus 8 Pro is the only one to support wireless charging.

Price

Vivo X50 Pro+ is priced €632/$706 and it is not sold globally. OnePlus 8 Pro starts from €919/$1027, while Oppo Find X2 Pro is priced €1199/$1340. While the Vivo X50 Pro+ makes you save a lot of money, the real winner of this comparison is the Oppo Find X2 Pro due to its premium waterproof design, faster charging, amazing cameras, and more. The OnePlus 8 Pro actually offers a very nice software and wireless charging (as well as a great display), but its cameras are not the best you can get in the market.

Mi TV Stick listed on AliExpress and Gearbest ahead of release; starts at $49

The Mi TV Stick is an upcoming streaming device from Xiaomi that runs Android TV. The device was shown at an event in Germany in May but is yet to be officially launched. Now, two major online retailers already have the product listed with a starting price of $49.

According to the listing on AliExpress, the Mi TV Stick will be available for $49. The seller says the item is on pre-sale and is expected to begin shipping from July 20 which is still a month away.

Xiaomi Mi TV Stick

The listing also includes an unboxing video of the product which confirms it is genuine. The Mi TV Stick comes in an orange box and the packaging confirms it only supports FHD. Inside the box are a power adapter, a USB cable, the Bluetooth remote, and the TV stick itself.

This version has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage and supports a maximum resolution of 1080p at 60 fps. Below are the full specs:

Mi TV Stick 1GB RAM Version

  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB eMMC storage
  • 2.0GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 processor with Mali-450 GPU
  • Android TV 9.0
  • 1080p output
  • Bluetooth 4.2
  • Google Assistant
  • Bluetooth remote with Voice Assistant key and dedicated Netflix and Amazon Prime Video buttons
  • Support for Dolby Audio and DTS Surround Sound
  • Dual-Band Wi-Fi
  • Ports – HDMI (2.0a), MicroUSB port

The Gearbest listing is for the 4K version and is listed for $133 which is pretty expensive. Gearbest says the device will be shipped between June 29 and July 7. Below are the full specs from the page:

Mi TV Stick 2GB RAM 4K Version

  • 2GB RAM
  • 8GB ROM
  • Amlogic S905Y2 quad-core (Cortex-A53) processor with Mali-G31 MP2 GPU
  • Android TV 9.0

  • Bluetooth remote with Voice Assistant key and dedicated Netflix and Amazon Prime Video buttons
  • Support for Dolby Audio and DTS Surround Sound

  • Ports – HDMI (2.0a), USB Type-C port

As you can see the two devices differ with respect to core specs. Another interesting difference is the ports. The 4K version has a USB Type-C port but Xiaomi has gone with a MicroUSB port for the 1080p version.

The difference in shipping dates is also a thing to note. Gearbest says shipping will begin next week which means the device should launch this week. However, the 1GB RAM version will take a bit longer. Xiaomi has not said anything about the Mi TV Stick launching this week, so we advise you to take the info with a pinch a salt.

If you don’t mind waiting, you can make your order for the Mi TV Stick using the source links below.

Honor X10 Max live shot appears as rumored early July launch nears

Recent reports have revealed that Honor is gearing up for its next launch event for announcing new smartphones. Recently, a Chinese tipster had claimed that Honor’s next unveil event may take place on July 4 or July 5 in China. The same tipster took to Weibo today to share a live shot of the Honor X10 Max.

The side view of the alleged Honor X10 Max reveals that it has a very slim body. The left side of the device is almost barren as it only features a SIM card slot towards the top.

The major attraction of the Honor X10 Max is that it will be arriving with a massive display. The same tipster had previously revealed that it is equipped with a 7.09-inch display. It is unclear whether it is an LCD or OLED panel. It is speculated to arrive with support for DCI-P3 color gamut.

Honor X10 Max Live Shot

Some reports have claimed that the Honor X10 Max will be featuring a notch-less display and a pop-up selfie camera like the Honor X10 5G that went official last month. However, the leaked shot of the purported X10 Max seems to show that it has a teardrop notch on the screen.

Rumors have it that it could be driven by the Kirin 820 5G SoC that fuels that X10 5G. The big form factor of the phone suggests that it could be housing a 5,000mAh or larger battery. It is also expected to arrive with support for fast charging.

Speculations surrounding the Honor X10 series have revealed that the Chinese firm is also working on a handset called Honor X10 Pro 5G. It is expected to feature the same 6.63-inch notch-less display available on the X10 5G. It may feature an additional camera on its back. It is said that the launch date is yet to be finalized.

Some of these products have even launched outside China such as the Mi Portable Wireless Mouse. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is set to announce yet another mouse according to a recent Bluetooth SIG listing.

The Bluetooth SIG has certified a new Xiaomi mouse under the name Mi Smart Mouse. The description says the mouse, whose model number is stated as XASB01ME, has speech recognition, support for translation, and a 4000 DPI.

Mi Smart Mouse

A few months ago, Xiaomi released a keyboard with voice input support. We believe the mouse will use similar technology. The Mi Smart Mouse will connect via Bluetooth 5.0 but should also connect via Wi-Fi. We expect it to have a built-in rechargeable battery too.

We can’t say when the mouse will be announced but when it does launch, we will be sure to let you know.

Design

The design of the Honor X10 5G is very attractive because it offers a full-screen display thanks to the presence of a motorized pop-up camera. Both Redmi 10X Pro and Huawei Enjoy 20 Pro come with an annoying waterdrop notch on the front panel. But the Redmi 10X Pro has a glass back protected by Gorilla Glass 5, so its build quality is actually better. Would you prefer getting a full-screen display like the panel of the Honor X10 or more premium materials like the ones of the Redmi 10X Pro?

Display

If you prefer having a better image quality, you should go for the Redmi 10X Pro since it is the only device of this trio sporting an AMOLED display, as well as the HDR10+ certification. Instead, if you are a gamer or you want a smoother viewing experience, choose the Honor X10 5G since it comes with a high 90 Hz refresh rate. Huawei Enjoy 20 Pro has a 90 Hz refresh rate as well, but the quality of the IPS panel found on the Honor X10 5G is actually superior.

Specs & Software

The Dimensity 820 chipset found on the Redmi 10X Pro 5G is the most powerful SoC in this comparison. It is also paired with a higher amount of internal storage: up to 256 GB, while Honor X10 and Huawei Enjoy 20 Pro come with max 128 GB. In each case, you get up to 8 GB of RAM. The second place goes to the Honor X10 since the Kirin 820 is better than the Dimensity 800 of the Huawei Enjoy 20 Pro.

Camera

On the camera side, it is a hard fight between the Redmi 10X Pro 5G and Honor X10 5G. The former has better secondary sensors, including a telephoto lens with OIS and 3x optical zoom. Honor X10 5G lacks a telephoto sensor, but it has an awesome 40 MP sensor providing a great photo quality. If you need the best camera phone, just do not choose the Huawei Enjoy 20 Pro which is like a Redmi 10X Pro without a telephoto lens and with worse secondary sensors.

Battery

Redmi 10X Pro 5G will most likely last more on a single charge for two reasons. First, it features a bigger 4520 mAh battery. Further, it has a more efficient display due to the AMOLED technology and its lower refresh rate. Redmi 10X Pro 5G is the winner even when it comes to fast charging: it can be charged with a 33W power. On the other hand, the Honor X10 5G is the only to support reverse charging (wired).

Price

Redmi 10X Pro 5G has a €290/$324 listing price in China for its base variant with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Honor X10 5G starts from €285/$319 in the 6/64 GB configuration, while Huawei Enjoy 20 Pro has a starting price of €250/$280 for the version with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of native storage. Redmi 10X Pro 5G wins the comparison due to its premium build quality, better hardware, great cameras, AMOLED display, and longer battery life.

Google’s Nearby Share feature for Android may also support Chrome OS, Windows, Linux, and macOS

It is no longer news that Google is working on a file-sharing feature for Android similar to Apple’s AirDrop. The feature which is now called Nearby Share (formerly known as Nearby Sharing) has been in development for a while, and now more details have surfaced.

New info has revealed that Nearby Share will not be limited to sharing between Android devices but also other operating systems with the help of the Chrome browser.

A few months ago, April to be precise, a Chrome commit was discovered with a flag with a description that reads “enables Nearby Sharing functionality”. It was presumed the flag was to activate the feature on other operating systems with a Chrome browser since Android already has the feature baked in.

Another commit lends further credence to the feature being available in the Chrome browser for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

A twitter user by the name Dinsan (@_dinsan) shared an image showing Nearby Share in Chrome OS settings.

Not limiting the feature to Android is a smart move by Google and will make it easy for users to share files between devices especially those who use multiple devices running different operating systems e.g. an Android phone, a Chrome tablet, and a Windows PC.

Google is yet to announce when the feature will be official.
