ZTE launched the Axon 10 Pro back in February at MWC 2019. However, it wasn’t available for purchase until early May in ZTE’s home country of China as well as some markets in Europe. Three months later, ZTE has now announced the phone in the US.
The Axon 10 Pro launched in the US is available in two variants – an 8GB RAM version with 256GB of storage for $549 and a 12GB RAM version with 256GB of storage for $599. It is also said to have support for US LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 25, 26, 30, 41, 66, and 71.
The ZTE Axon 10 Pro has a 6.47-inch curved AMOLED display with a 1080 x 2340 resolution. There is a notch at the top of the screen for a 20MP f/2.0 sensor. It also has an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The Axon 10 Pro, like a lot of other flagships released in the first half of the year, is powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor. It has triple rear cameras which include a 48MP f/1.7 primary sensor with PDAF and OIS; an 8MP telephoto camera also with PDAF and OIS and 3x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom, and 20x digital zoom; and a 20MP f/2.2 125° ultrawide camera.
The phone doesn’t have an audio jack but has stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. There is NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, and a hybrid dual nano-SIM card tray which allows you to use two SIMs at a time or one SIM and a MicroSD card (1TB max.). The Axon 10 Pro packs a 4000mAh battery and can be quickly recharged thanks to supporting Quick Charge 4+. It also has support for Qi wireless charging and is splash resistant. ZTE has installed a clean version of Android that is similar to stock Android 9 Pie but with some useful customizations.
The phone is only available in Blue and can be pre-ordered on the official ZTE USA site, B&H Photo, and Newegg. B&H Photo says shipping will begin on September 6 and will include a free Mophie 10000mAh Encore Plus power bank.
According to recent reports, Google plans to roll out the stable Android 10 update to its Pixel devices on September 3. Now, according to a leaked screenshot of a conversation between a OnePlus user and a customer support executive, OnePlus is aiming to release the stable version on the same day as Google. While we can’t confirm the authenticity of this conversation, this actually might be possible. After all, Essential managed to release the stable version of Android Pie on the same day as the Pixels last year!
But the Essential phone basically runs on stock Android while OnePlus’s OxygenOS is customized with independent features to cater to its users. This means it would be extremely difficult for the company to optimize its OxygenOS version on the same day as Google rolls out the Android 10 stable update. So, it’s highly unlikely that OnePlus manages to accomplish this feat.
However, OnePlus has surprised us before and we wouldn’t entirely rule out this possibility. Let’s wait and watch!

There’s a special Digital Health section as well which shows your individual app usage along with the option to limit usage for each app. It’s very similar to the Digital Wellbeing app from Google and aims to prevent you from being addicted to the phone.
Flyme 8 also features a brand new ‘Aicy’ digital assistant. Aicy can assist you with calls, texts, weather, shopping, and other day to day activities.
The new OS also comes with predictive features. For example, it can pop up the music app when you connect your headphones after learning your usual behavior.

There will also be an under-display fingerprint sensor onboard the device. That means the phone will not have a fingerprint sensor mounted on the back panel. The phone is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon. It will be powered by a Snapdragon chip and boast a notched display with a fingerprint scanner embedded in it. The phone will also come with support for FlashCharge but the battery capacity wasn’t revealed.
After a long time, MediaTek is finally back in the powerful chipsets segment. And its comeback is through a gaming-centric smartphone processor: the Helio G90T. The Redmi Note 8 Pro will be the first smartphone to be equipped with the new chipset. But it is not alone: even Qualcomm recently launched a mid-range chipset made specifically for gamers: it is the Snapdragon 730G and it is the most amazing Qualcomm chipset just below the Snapdragon 8xx series. Given that important phones are hitting the market with these two chipsets and that they are currently the only mobile processors made for gamers with a G in their name, we decided to make an in-depth specs comparison in order to let you know which one will provide the best gaming experience.
Helio G90T vs Snapdragon 730G
Qualcomm and MediaTek’s history with powerful SoCs
Qualcomm is currently the leader of mobile chipsets. The best Android flagships out there are powered by Qualcomm’s high-end chipset from the Snapdragon 8xx series. Due to Qualcomm’s domination, MediaTek was forced to exit the high-end mobile processor segment in 2017, after releasing the Helio X30. And now it is trying to come back again with the Helio G90T. So it has to face a lot of prejudices and it is in a disadvantaged position compared to Qualcomm.

Helio G90T vs Snapdragon 730G: Benchmark scores
According to leaked AnTuTu tests, MediaTek Helio G90T reached a total score of 281,033 points. That is simply amazing and it is very close to flagship chipsets. Further, it is a way better result than Snapdragon 730G which just reached 220,000 points. However, this does not mean that Helio G90T will be better for gaming.
The Adreno 618 GPU on board of the Snapdragon 730G scored 66,398 points on AnTuTu, while Helio G90T scored 79,755 points: we got the answer. According to benchmarks, Helio G90T has better performance than its rival even in its graphic performances. And note that Snapdragon 730G already has 15 percent better graphics performance than Snapdragon 710! However, despite being incredibly powerful and gaming-centric chipsets, both Snapdragon 730G and Helio G90T remain midrange processors. Indeed, you can get better performances in both gaming, daily use and multi-tasking with Snapdragon SoCs from the new 800 series.
SD675Snapdragon chipsets – AnTuTu V7 scores
Power efficiency: will the battery last longer?
Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G is built at 8 nm: a very efficient production process which reduces energy consumption significantly. So it will be a very efficient SoC and it should help batteries last long on a single charge. On the other hand, MediaTek Helio G90T is built at 12 nm, which isn’t a very efficient process. So the Helio G90T will boast amazing performances, but it will not be very efficient.
Redmi’s Lu Weibing said the Helio G90T is even less power efficient than Snapdragon 710 by around 10 percent. That is why Xiaomi opted for a bigger battery on the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
MediaTek’s reputation: should you trust it and give it a chance?
I saw a lot of people saying that they will not buy the Redmi Note 8 Pro because it is powered by a MediaTek chipset. After the excellent success garnered by Qualcomm and the poor performances of some old MediaTek chipsets, a lot of people have lost their trust in MediaTek. This is also why it was forced to exit the high-end chipsets segment.
But now we think MediaTek is releasing a lot of interesting processors, including the Helio G90T. This chipset is far from being the best out there, especially for its energy consumption, but we believe it is worth giving a chance to MediaTek due to the very promising specifications of this chipsets as well as its value for money.
According to benchmarks, the new Helio G90T chipset by MediaTek is way more powerful than the Snapdragon 730G. But this is not enough to say that MediaTek has released a better chipset than every mid-range SoC by Qualcomm.
And we say it essentially for two reasons: first, benchmarks are not the only indicator to measure the overall performance of a chipset. There are other factors too like its performance in long gaming sessions, stability, and energy consumption. Further, the Snapdragon 730G will be a lot more efficient than Helio G90T, so batteries will last longer. Only after trying both of them on well-optimized devices, will we be finally able to tell you whether or not MediaTek did a better job than Qualcomm.

The Vivo Z1X is an upcoming Z-series smartphone from Vivo India after the Vivo Z1 Pro that was made official in July. A recent leak had claimed that the phone may go official as early as first week of September. Now, the Chinese manufacturer has confirmed the existence of the phone by revealing that it will be exclusively available for purchase through Flipkart.
According to Vivo India, the Vivo Z1X is aimed towards those customers who prefer performance oriented phone for playing high-end games. Like the Vivo Z1 Pro, the Vivo Z1X being a Z-series will be aimed towards the online market. The company did not share details on the specifications of the Vivo Z1X. It is expected to arrive as an enhanced version of the Vivo Z1 Pro.
Vivo Z1X Specifications (Rumored)
In July, Vivo had launched the Vivo Z5 smartphone in China. It is speculated that the Vivo Z1X for India could be rebranded version of the Vivo Z5. So far, the rumor mill has revealed that the Vivo Z1X will be featuring a 48-megapixel triple camera system on its rear. The main sensor could be Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GM1 lens. Its secondary sensor could be an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The handset is also expected to house an AMOLED display with an in-screen fingerprint reader. Also, the smartphone is expected to feature a USB-C port to support fast charging.
The Vivo Z1X is expected to carry a higher price tag than the Vivo Z1 Pro that retails at Rs. 18,990 for its top model that features 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The Vivo Z1X could be priced around Rs. 20,000.
Vivo India has cited Q2 Gfk report to state it has acquired a market share of 21.2 percent in India. The company will be completing five years of operations this year in the country. The Chinese firm has claimed that it will continue to aggressively to target the Indian market by selling more value for money products.
Vivo Z5 Specifications
The Vivo Z5 features a 6.38-inch S-AMOLED display with waterdrop notch. The Snapdragon 712 powers the smartphone along with 4,500mAh battery. It comes with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of native storage. For photography, the Vivo Z5 is equipped with 48-meapixel + 8-megapixel + 5-megapixel triple camera setup and a front-facing camera of 32-megapixel. It carries support for in-screen fingerprint reader and 22.5W fast charging.
Vivo will be announcing the highly anticipated Vivo NEX 3 smartphone in September. An official ad that was released by the company yesterday had revealed the front and rear design of the smartphone. Fresh leaks suggest that the phone will be housing a massive 6,400mAh battery and it will be arriving with support for 120W Super FlashCharge technology.
The Vivo NEX 3 will be packed with plenty of topnotch specifications. Many details on the specs of the phone have already earlier this week. A leaked render of the Vivo NEX 3 shown below showcases its marvelous waterfall display which is nothing but a screen with extremely curved edges. The image also reveals that the phone supports Vivo’s Super FlashCharge technology that offers 120W fast charging. The Chinese firm had announced the 120W Super FlashCharge technology in June. The new tech makes it possible to charge a 4,000mAh battery in just 13 minutes.
Some rumors are also claiming that the Vivo NEX 3 could be housing a massive battery of 6,400mAh capacity. Unfortunately, there is no concrete evidence to support this claim. It appears that the tech publications have misread ‘6400’ text in the below shown leaked image as 6,400mAh battery capacity. The ‘6400’ text actually refers to 64-megapixel camera.
Past reports have revealed that the Vivo NEX 3 will be featuring a massive display with slim-sized top and bottom bezels. The side bezels of the phone will appear non-existent. It is speculated that the phone will offer a screen-to-body ratio of 99.6 percent. The NEX 3 could be fueled by the latest 7nm Snapdragon 855+ chipset that includes 2.96GHz octa-core processor.
The rear shell of the phone features a circular camera housing with three camera sensors placed inside it. It is speculated that the phone will come equipped with a pop-up selfie snapper. While companies are axing the 3.5mm audio jack feature on their flagship phones, the upcoming NEX 3 will retain it. The handset will continue to sport an in-screen fingerprint reader as like the predecessor model. Some reports have claimed that the phone may come in 4G VoLTE and 5G network variants.
Earlier this year, Huawei launched its P-series flagship smartphones — Huawei P30 and P30 Pro, which comes in Black, Aurora and Breathing Crystal colors. Now, as per the reports, the company is set to unveil new color options at the upcoming IFA 2019 in Berlin.
Huawei has already submitted applications for two new color options with the European Patent Office for the Huawei P30. While one color option features a gradient, the other one has a dual-tone paint job, similar to the “panda” version of the Google Pixel 2 XL.
While the gradient color option seems similar to the P30’s Breathing Crystal, it too has dual-tone colors if you look closely as the top third of the back is a separate panel and the color effect is much more subtle.
The applications for these new color options were filed in May this year but were published just a few days ago. This could mean that the company is gearing up to launch new color options for the P30 series phones at IFA 2019 in Berlin. Huawei had launched four new color options for the P20-series at last year’s IFA.
After IFA 2019 next month, the company is expected to launch its next-generation Mate-series flagship smartphones — Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro, along with the Mate 30 Lite. The launch event for the Mate 30 series could take place in October this year.
