Rumors have it that the Vivo NEX smartphone that is launching on June 12 may arrive in three models such as Vivo NEX, NEX S and NEX A. It is speculated that the Vivo NEX S is lower variant that features the Snapdragon 710. The highest configuration edition of the phone is expected to be fueled by Snapdragon 845 chipset. A Chinese tipster has shared some images of the promotional materials of the Vivo NEX phone to reveal its key features.

When Vivo had unleashed the APEX concept phone earlier this year, it was revealed that the smartphone is equipped with a 5.99-inch OLED display. However, recent reports have revealed that the company has decided to launch the same phone as Vivo NEX commercially. Since the Vivo APEX has a 5.99-inch OLED screen, the Vivo NEX phone was also speculated to come with the same-sized display. However, the photos of the advertising material that have surfaced today has revealed that the Vivo NEX has a massive screen of 6.59 inches.

Like the Vivo APEX, the Vivo NEX phone is blessed with a pop-up selfie camera. The other features of the smartphone include 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and 4,000mAh battery.

Even though it is not mentioned in the above image, the Vivo NEX is likely to be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 chipset. There is no information available on whether there will be a higher variant of the Vivo NEX phone featuring SD845, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of inbuilt storage.

The other image that has surfaced in this leak reveals the design of the phone. It shows that the smartphone’s front is mainly occupied by the display. It is likely to offer a screen-to-body ratio of around 91 percent. Also, it is expected to feature half-screen fingerprint scanner. Apart from the pop-up selfie snapper, the image also showcases its vertical dual camera setup.

Vivo has already confirmed that it will be debuting the Vivo NEX smartphone on June 12. Rumors have it that the smartphone could be priced expensively. The Snapdragon 710 chipset edition of the phone may cost nearly $800 whereas the Snapdragon 845 SoC variant may be priced around $1,000.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Series will be Launching on June 12

Yesterday, when Xiaomi had claimed on Weibo that it would be announcing something new today. Since then, netizens started speculating that the company may announce the arrival of Xiaomi Redmi 6 series. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has released an official poster on Weibo to confirm that it will indeed announce the Redmi 6 (or Redmi 6 series) on June 12.

Just before Xiaomi’s May 31 Shenzhen event that unveiled the Mi 8 series, Mi Band 3 and MIUI 10, a mid-range phone from the company having a model number of M1805D1SE had bagged certification from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (CMIIT). Hence, Xiaomi fans were expecting that the M1805D1SE smartphone may also get unveiled on May 31, but it did not happen so. It seems that the M1805D1SE that was recently certified could be the Redmi 6 smartphone.

The above shown launch poster only confirms the June 12 launch date for Xiaomi Redmi 6. However, it does not reveal how many smartphones will be announced on the said date. It is speculated that the Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro/Plus may also get unleashed alongside the Redmi 6 on June 12.

The TENAA listing of the M1805D1SE has revealed that it will be sporting a notched display. It includes a 5.84-inch display that offers Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels along with an aspect ratio of 19:9. It is driven by an octa-core processor that has a processing speed of 2.0 GHz. It could be the Snapdragon 625 SoC.

The alleged Redmi 6 is expected to arrive in variants like 16 GB storage + 2 GB RAM, 32 GB storage + 3 GB RAM and 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM. It houses a 3,900mAh battery. The vertical dual camera setup lying on its rear side has a primary sensor of 12-megapixel. The handset features a selfie camera of 5-megapixel. A fingerprint scanner is placed on the backside of the phone. The TENAA images suggest that the alleged Redmi 6 has a metallic rear, but the upper and lower portion that houses the antenna bands could be made out of plastic.

Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium Likely Arriving China Soon, Gets TENAA Certification (UPDATED)

Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium is already official. Sony launched the flagship Xperia XZ Premium in April but the device is yet to hit China even though the XZ2 is already on sale over there. However, the Xperia XZ2 Premium has now been certified by China’s Telecoms regulatory agency TENAA. This means the device will soon be launched in China.

The model that passed through TENAA on May 31 wasn’t listed as the XZ2 Premium but it has the model number H8166. The device is listed with a dimension of 158 x 80 x 11.9mm which is the same with the XZ2 Premium. The listing also includes a 5.8-inch display but the resolution is unspecified. However, we know the XZ2 Premium comes with a 4K resolution.

The device is listed with a 3400mAh battery which is inconsistent with the battery capacity of the XZ2 or the XZ2 Premium. The XZ2 Premium has a 3,540mAh battery so, there may be an error or the model may be the rumoured XZ2 Pro. We are not too sure about that anyway.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium comes with a Snapdragon 845 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 400GB. The device equally packs a dual camera setup at the rear and a fingerprint sensor which is in the middle of the back panel. We expect the device to be unveiled soon in China.

Through the official Redmi Mobile Weibo account, Xiaomi has confirmed that it will be announcing something new tomorrow at 10 AM in China. Netizens are now speculating that the company may announce the arrival of Redmi 6 series.

In the recent past, a Redmi phone with model number M1805D1SE has received certification from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The smartphone had surfaced before the unveiling of the Xiaomi Mi 8 on May 31, but the company did not announce it at the press conference.

According to the TENAA listing of the M1805D1SE, its dimensions are 149.33 x 71.68 x 75mm and it weighs 178 grams. The backside of the phone seems to be made of metal. The TENAA images of the phone have revealed that it will be Xiaomi’s first ever budget phone with notched display design. It will be housing a 5.84-inch screen that produces Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels.

The M1805D1SE Xiaomi phone is fueled by an octa-core processor that clocks at 2.0 GHz. It is speculated that the smartphone could be featuring the Snapdragon 625 SOC. It will be coming RAM options like 2 GB / 3 GB / 4 GB and its storage variants are 16 GB / 32 GB / 64 GB.

For photography, the alleged Xiaomi Redmi 6 features a vertical dual camera setup that includes a 12-megapixel primary sensor. There is no information on its secondary sensor. It is fitted with a front camera of 5-megapixel. The handset is packed with a 3,900mAh battery.

Early Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 1, and 8110 Prototypes Showcased By HMD’s CPO

Every Nokia fan knows that HMD Global is putting huge efforts into the software support for its Android devices. But software is not the only thing the Finnish company owning the Nokia brand is working hard for. HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas has shared some images of early prototypes of Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 1 and the “banana phone” 8110. The images give us a glimpse of the early design of the handsets and judging from their look the prototypes seem to be 3D-printed. Juho Sarvikas has also published a photo showing the 6000 series aluminum block which was used to make the shell of the Nokia 6.

He declared that the Sirocco flagship was internally codenamed Avenger and that “Modeling and early prototyping is the key for success”. In terms of aesthetics, Nokia 8 Sirocco is definitely the most interesting HMD device. But this is obvious given that it is currently the most powerful HMD flagship. It has a glass back, a frame made of stainless steel and a curved edge-to-edge display with the P-OLED technology. Even though it has very narrow bezels, it retains the classic 16:9 aspect ratio and a size of 5.5 inches.

Note that 8 Sirocco is the only HMD smartphone to feature a glass back, while all the other devices have either a full metal unibody design or a plastic body. And it is also the only HMD device to feature IP67 certification which makes it dust resistant and water resistant (up to 1.5m for 30 minutes). Given that Nokia 1 is the most entry-level HMD handset (it even comes with Android Go out of the box), it is entirely made of polycarbonate with a simple design and thick bezels, but a compact size. Obviously, the 8110 has a polycarbonate design too as it is a feature phone.

Design

The design is a department where Lenovo Z5 is much more interesting. It is composed of a glass backplate which will be also available in the Aurora gradient hue and a metal frame. Its display covers almost the whole front panel with a very narrow chin and a notch. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is a classic 18:9 phone with a full metal unibody design, there is nothing very original or innovative in its aesthetics; so, its opponent wins.

Display

If you hate the notch, Lenovo Z5 is not for you. But if you do not mind it, this phone has a taller 19:9 display and more pixels. However, the viewing quality is similar according to the specs on the paper. What makes the Z5 slightly better is its higher brightness with a peak of 700 nits, besides the DCI-P3 color gamut. So you should have more visibility under sunlight if you get the Z5. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro reaches a max brightness of 450 nits. So the Z5 has an advantage here as well.

Hardware/Software

Lenovo Z5 wins even when it comes to the hardware side. Its most expensive configuration comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, while Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro gets max 6 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage. As the SoC is the same, there will not be a big difference between the speeds of these two mid-rangers, but at least in the most expensive variant, the Z5 will provide more space for your files and apps. On the other hand, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with MIUI 9 (which will soon update to MIUI 10), and we define it a better user interface than the Z5’s ZUI 4.0, as it has more advanced additional features.

Camera

If we talk about the camera department, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro should be a better handset. There are still no camera samples from the Lenovo Z5 so we still cannot say it for sure, but Redmi Note 5 Pro manages to capture very much detail and natural colors. Further, it has a stunning 20 MP front camera which is also equipped with a LED flash, so besides being a good camera phone, it is also a perfect selfie phone. However, we do not expect to be disappointed with the camera performance of Lenovo Z5 which also supports AI.

Battery

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has a monster 4000 mAh battery which is able to last up to two days even with a stressed use. It is very good not only due to its big capacity but also because Snapdragon 636 provides a low energy consumption. Lenovo Z5 has a standard 3300 mAh unit which should make it to the end of the day, but it should not surprise anyone. Both the devices feature a fast charging technology, so you do not have to worry about charging times.

Price

In the base configuration with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM, Lenovo Z5 has been launched (in China) with a price tag of about $202. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro’s launch price in China is about $218 in the version with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. With these prices, it is hard to decide who wins the comparison. If you care about design and performance, then go for the Lenovo Z5. But if the camera and battery life are your main concern, then Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is the winner.

Xiaomi Launches The Mi Bunny Children Scooter Priced At 249 yuan (~$39)

Xiaomi has announced a new toy for the kids and it is a scooter. The Mi Bunny Children Scooter, as it is called, is a mechanical scooter with lots of features and safety nets which make it a cool gadget for the kids. It looks very much like the Beiwa Beva Children scooter which was announced last year. But this is an upgraded model and it is directly a Xiaomi product.

The Mi Bunny Children Scooter is capable of bearing a load of 50kg and has a dimension of 597mm x 294mm x 780mm. It is 597mm long, the front wheels are 294mm apart while the handlebar is 780mm away from the floor. It weighs just 3.1kg. Further, the scooter is equipped with 129 TPR skid-proof points on the floor area which allows the kid to pedal the scooter comfortably.

In addition, the Xiaomi Mi Bunny Children Scooter comes with a wide and thick PU rubber wheel, with a front wheel thickness of 32mm and a rear wheel thickness of 52mm. The scooter is equipped with two wheels at the front and a single wheel at the back, thus ensuring the child skids comfortably. The wheels is equipped with built-in lamp which is powered by induction technology. Vivo NEX S Alleged Specifications Surface Online Ahead Of Official Launch

Vivo is gearing up to launch its full-screen smartphone, which is confirmed to have been named Vivo NEX, at a launch event in Shanghai on 12th June. Reports indicate that the company will launch the smartphone in three variants — Vivo NEX, NEX S, and NEX A.

Now, an alleged specs sheet of the budget NEX-series device has surfaced online, which is believed to be of Vivo NEX S. According to the leaked screenshot of the specs sheet, the smartphone will come with a 6.01-inch Full-HD+ display having super slim bezels and nearly 100% screen-to-body ratio.

It is expected that the smartphone will retain the pop-up camera mechanism for the front-facing shooter. While the Vivo NEX will be powered by Snapdragon 845 processor, the budget variants of the phone are expected to come powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 710 processor.

On the back side, the phone will come with 20-megapixel + 16-megapixel dual camera setup and on the front side, there’ll a 24-megapixel snapper. Further, the leaked reveals that the smartphone will pack 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. On the other hand, the Vivo NEX is expected to come equipped with 6GB of RAM.

The device will be running Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box and will drive power from a 3,320mAh battery. The main model is reported to come with under-display fingerprint sensor but it is not clear if the budget devices will also come with a similar fingerprint sensor.

Earlier, Vivo had showcased its Vivo APEX smartphone as a prototype which featured full-screen and nearly bezel-less display. The production version of the phone has been named Vivo NEX and the company is launching the device on June 12.

Fitbit is happy with the numbers its latest smartwatch – the Fitbit Versa – is pulling. The watchmaker has announced that it has shipped over 1 million units in less than two months.

The Fitbit Versa can be called a cheaper version of the Fitbit Ionic – another smartwatch released this year. The low-price and also female health tracking feature seems to have helped the watch gain popularity.

Fitbit said over 2 million people have used the female health feature which logs period, records symptoms and compares cycles since it announced it in May.

The Particle cloud is a blockchain product and a home data storage as well as data sharing smart gadget. Motorola One Power Key Specifications Leaked with New Renders

Motorola One Power is a rumored Android One smartphone from the Lenovo-owned company. A render and an image of a prototype of the alleged phone that surfaced in the previous week had revealed that it will be arriving with a notched display and a vertical dual camera setup like the iPhone X. A well-known tipster who holds a good track recording for shedding information on upcoming Motorola phones has revealed the key specs along with some renders.

According to the leakster, the notched display of the Motorola One Power will carry support for Full HD+ resolution. The Snapdragon 636 chipset will be powering the phone along with 6 GB of RAM. It will have an internal storage of 64 GB.

He has further added that the dual camera setup of the phone will include an f/1.8 aperture 16-megapixel primary sensor and an f/2.0 aperture 5-megapixel secondary sensor. For shooting selfies, it will be fitted with an f/1.9 aperture 16-megapixel frontal camera. It will be coming with the usual connectivity features including NFC. The handset receives power from a 3,780mAh battery.

The tipster has shared some “official pictures” of the phone. The inner corners of the display and the edges of the notch do not really match with the recent photos of the One Power. The chin of the phone and the bottom portion of the rear panel has “motorola” branding. The back panel has a batwing “M” logo. It is speculated that it could be embedded with a fingerprint reader.

It is speculated that Motorola won’t be releasing Moto X5 Android One smartphone this year. Rumors have suggested that the company will launching the One Power smartphone instead of Moto X5.

The specifications of the smartphone suggest that it could be aimed towards the upper mid-range market. As of this writing, there is no information available on its pricing.

Taiwanese tech giant ASUS has launched a new smartwatch dubbed VivoWatch BP. The ASUS VivoWatch BP is a successor to the VivoWatch which was launched three years ago. The new sports smartwatch comes with lots of new features but the most notable one is the blood pressure tracking and de-stress index. This feature makes the ViVoWatch BP one of the few BP tracking watch around just like the latest Lenovo Watch X.

The VivoWatch BP won’t rank among the flashy smartphones in the market. If you are searching for something fashionable, then you may want to turn your head the other way. However, what it lacks in design, it gains in the features it packs. It is equipped with several sensors under the thick screen bezels but the biggest is the Electrocardiographic (ECG) and photoplethysmographic (PPG) sensors which measure your current blood pressure. Both sensors work simultaneously to deliver better accuracy. The BP is measured by placing the fingertip on the front-facing ECG sensor for about 15 to 20 seconds.

Apart from helping users keep track of their blood pressure, the VivoWatchBP also tracks other vital data like heart rate, sleep quality, de-stress index and overall activity data. The smartwatch uses the HealthAI technology which enables it to be connected to an Android app and the data gathered is transferred to the app with personalized suggestions and recommendations. You get suggestions like how many steps you need to take today, how many hours of sleep you should get during the night and also it tries to motivate you to exercise.

In addition, the ASUS smartwatch comes with GPS tracking, allowing you to share your location with friends and family for safer weekend mountain hiking. The gadget also packs a pretty impressive battery life which Asus claims can run for about 28 days under normal usage. This is twice the battery performance compared to the previous version.

As for pricing and availability, the ASUS VivoWatch BP comes with a price tag of $169. The smartwatch will be available in Asia by the end of July while it will hit Europe in August. US customers will have to wait until Q2 or Q3 next year as a result of pending FDA approval.
