Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro With Snapdragon 636 and Oppo F7 With Helio P60 Have Similar Performance According To Benchmarks

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and Oppo F7 have been compared on the main benchmarking platforms in order to check which one performs better. Before checking the results of the comparison, keep in mind that benchmarks are not meant to evaluate the overall performance of a smartphone. It just tests the hardware. So, do not take benchmarks as a religion and just consider them as a method to evaluate performance on the paper. The handsets have been tested on Geekbench, AnTuTu, 3D Mark and Basemark with very similar performances in most of the tests.

This comparison is very important, not only because they are among the most powerful mid-rangers in the smartphones market, but also because they contain two of the most important chipsets in the mobile market. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is powered by the new octa-core Snapdragon 636 SoC by Qualcomm, composed of 8x Kryo 260 CPUs running at a max frequency of 1.8 GHz and an Adreno 509 GPU. Oppo F7 has the octa-core Helio P60 composed of 4x Cortex A73 cores and 4x Cortex A53 cores running at a max frequency of 2 GHz and a Mali G72 MP3 GPU.

Even though it is not a flagship SoC, Helio P60 is the most important MediaTek chipset released this year, and it will impact a lot on the future of MediaTek in the mobile chipsets market. According to Geekbench, Oppo F7 has slightly better performances than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, while according to AnTuTu the Redmi Note 5 Pro is way better than its opponent. 3D Mark Ice Storm Unlimited shows a better result for the Oppo F7, while Basemark shows a higher score for Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. In each case, we are talking about pretty good results which should guarantee a wonderful user experience, even though there are many other factors to consider to establish how the user experience will be in the long-term.

Xiaomi Mi 7: Top 5 Exciting Features to Watch Out For

Recent reports have claimed that the Snapdragon 845 chipset powered Xiaomi Mi 7 may debut in June. Plenty of details of the Mi 7 have appeared through its leaked firmware files and other sources in the recent weeks. The Xiaomi Mi 7 will possibly be a real breakthrough smartphone from Xiaomi as it is likely to come equipped with features like OLED display, 3D facial scanning, wireless charging and more. Here is a low down on the some of the exciting features to watch out on the Xiaomi Mi 7:

OLED Display

Through multiple leaks it has been known that the Xiaomi Mi 7 may feature an OLED display supplied by Samsung. The Mi 7 firmware files have revealed that its display will be enabled with a notch and it will carry support for Always-On Display feature. The recently launched Mi MIX 2S features an LCD panel that offers an 18:9 aspect ratio. However, the notch enabled Mi 7 may offer 19:9 aspect ratio.

Under-Display Fingerprint Scanner

Speculations are rife that Xiaomi will be launching the Mi 7 Plus smartphone alongside the Mi 7. The firmware files of the alleged Mi 7 Plus have revealed that it may come with features like an OLED display, Snapdragon 845 chipset, 4,000mAh battery and under-display fingerprint scanner. However, there is no evidence on whether the Mi 7 will feature an under-display fingerprint scanner.

3D Facial Recognition

The firmware files of the Mi 7 had also unearthed that its notch could be housing Infrared Camera sensor. This suggests that the Mi 7 may arrive with 3D facial scanning feature. It could be as robust as Face ID 3D facial recognition function present on iPhone X.

Xiaomi Mi 7 Alleged back reflective

If the Mi 7 will arrive with 3D face reader, it may not need to feature an under-display or a regular  fingerprint scanner. A leaked image showing the rear view of the alleged Mi 7 that had appeared in the previous month reveals that it does not feature a fingerprint scanner.

Dual Rear Cameras

Like the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S, the Mi 7 is speculated to arrive with vertically aligned dual camera system. As of this writing, there is no information on the exact configuration of the dual rear cameras of Mi 7. However, it is likely to borrow AI capabilities of Mi MIX 2S for better low-light photography, bokeh effect shots and scene detection.

Xiao AI Voice Assistant

The Mi MIX 2S is the first smartphone from the company to feature the AI assistant named Xiao AI. At present, Xiao AI is only available in China. Now that the Xiaomi’s digital assistant has been introduced, the Mi 7 is for sure going to feature it. However, there is no confirmation on whether it will carry support for English and other languages.

Here is an official video that shows how efficient the Xiaomi’s voice assistant is.

Wireless Charging

The Xiaomi Mi 7 is expected to house a 3,400mAh battery. A recent report had revealed that it may support 7.5W wireless charging like the iPhone X.

Such features of the Mi 7 indicate that it will be an ultimate flagship phone from the company. Would you be buying the Mi MIX 2S or waiting for the launch of Mi 7? Share us your views by posting your comments below.

OnePlus Latest Teaser Video Hints At a OnePlus 6 Marvel’s Avengers Edition

OnePlus could be planning a customized edition of the OnePlus 6 which would be launched this month. A leaked video teasing the OnePlus 6 The Avengers Edition was spotted on OnePlus India Facebook page. Marvel’s Avengers or simply The Avengers is a 2012 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The leaked video seems to tease the new Avengers: Infinity Wars sequel that would be released in theatres worldwide on April 27 which is a couple of weeks away. However, the video also contains OnePlus’ logo which seems to flicker alongside that of Marvel Studios. The thing is that OnePlus is yet to reveal when the OnePlus 6 will be launched and isn’t likely that the Avengers customized version will be launched before the ordinary version. So, it is likely that the video only teases the coming of a customised OnePlus 6 Avengers edition in the near future.OnePlus 6

OnePlus is no stranger to releasing a customised version of its flagship. Last year, the company launched the OnePlus 5T  Star Wars edition and India was the first port of call. So, since the leaked video first appeared on OnePlus India’s Facebook page as reported, there is a strong likelihood that the customised edition may be launched first in India too.

OPPO R15 Creates New Sales Record For The Company In China

OPPO is among the top three phone makers in China presently in terms of smartphone shipments and still jostle for the top 5 spot in the global market. The company recently went official with OPPO R15 and R15 Dream Mirror Edition. Both new smartphones went on sale for the first time on April 1 and the official information from the BKK-owned OPPO indicates that the R15 has created a new sales record for the company in China.OPPO R15

A perusal of the opening day sales figures on the Jingdong, Tmall, and Suning showed a record sales exceeding that of the R11. However, we are not privy to the sales figures so as to make our independent analysis and comparison. OPPO’s models have always enjoyed good sales outing and the R15 seems not to be an exception. The trend has been a long streak right from the time of the OPPO R9. In January 2017, just two months after the R9S was released, OPPO revealed that it had sold almost 3 million units in China alone. The model was also crowned by Sino research as the top selling smartphone by a Chinese manufacturer. The first day sale of the R9s on Jingdong was broken by the R11 in just 40 minutes and the model did go on to record stunning feats in terms of sales volumes. That record may likely be shattered by the R15 considering its new design and amazing hardware lineup.OPPO R15 Specs, Pricing 1

Xiaomi Mi 7 Realistic Render Shows Notched Display And Underglass Fingerprint Sensor

After launching the Mi MIX 2S smartphone last month, China-based Xiaomi is now gearing up to launch its next-generation Mi-series smartphone — Mi 7. The upcoming flagship smartphone’s realistic renders have surfaced online, revealing the phone’s design and a few features.

The leaked renders of the smartphone show that the Mi 7 will feature a notch on top of the display, similar to the Apple iPhone X. Further, it suggests that the phone will come with an under display fingerprint sensor, a technology introduced in Vivo X21 UD and Vivo Apex.

Xiaomi Mi 7 Render

In the leaked render, there’s no traditional fingerprint sensor on the phone’s back panel or front. Also, no fingerprint sensor seems to have been placed on the side edges. Thus, it seems that the phone will come with an in-display fingerprint reader. We are also expecting the phone to come with a Face Unlock feature.

Unlike its predecessor, the smartphone will come with a metal back instead of the glass back panel. If this turns out to be true, then the Mi 7 will lack wireless charging support. If the Xiaomi Mi 7 supports wireless charging, it will either have a glass or ceramic back.

The earlier rumor revealed that the Mi 7 will support 7.5W wireless charging that is also available on Apple iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X smartphones. The company’s recently launched smartphone — Mi MIX 2S also supports wireless charging.

On the back panel of the Mi 7, the camera module is placed on the top-right side. It has a dual camera setup, with both lenses stacked vertically. An LED flash is placed between both the camera sensors. At the center-bottom, there’s a Mi branding. The volume rocker and the power button are placed on the right side.
