Samsung is keeping One UI 7, its next Android-based skin, mostly under wraps. While leaks hint at new icons and interface tweaks, an update on Samsung’s UK website reveals a more significant change: the DeX app for Windows is being discontinued.

For the uninitiated, DeX allows Galaxy phone owners to project their device’s screen onto a PC window. The functionality, aptly named “Desktop eXperience,” facilitates seamless file transfer between the two devices. It’s a handy tool, especially for those who want a more desktop-like experience from their phone.

However, a footnote on Samsung’s DeX page hints at the feature’s future:

The DeX for PC on Windows OS will end support from the One UI 7 version. We encourage customers to connect mobile phones and PC through the Link to Windows feature.

It’s not surprising

While the news isn’t exactly surprising, it’s a shift for DeX users on Windows. Samsung suggests migrating to the built-in “Link to Windows” feature, which offers similar functionality. It’s a logical move considering Link to Windows is native to the Windows ecosystem and works with more than just Samsung devices.

POCO is all set to introduce its next flagship smartphone, the POCO F7 Ultra. Recent certifications, including a listing on the FCC platform (spotted by 91mobiles Indonesia), have provided a detailed look at the device’s features and specifications, hinting at its imminent debut. For fans of high-performance smartphones, this could be the next big thing.

As per the FCC listing, the device with model number “24122RKC7G” will come with three configurations: 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 512GB. In November, Realme released the GT 7 Pro in its domestic Chinese market powered by a massive 6,500mAh battery, while keeping the thickness of the device down to 8.55mm. This is made possible by the newly adopted silicon-carbon anode battery technology, which uses silicon and carbon to create a high-energy-density, long-lasting battery.

It appears that the brand is still not satisfied with this achievement and is experimenting to push the boundaries even further on its next flagship. Tipster Digital Chat Station has reported that Realme is considering three battery options for its next-gen flagship, presumably the GT 8 Pro, each offering impressive capacity but with trade-offs in charging speed.

The most ambitious option is an 8,000mAh battery, which would provide exceptional endurance but require slower 80W charging. This would lead to longer charging times, potentially up to 70 minutes.

A more moderate option is a 7,500mAh battery with 100W charging. This configuration would offer a balance between capacity and charging speed, with charging times estimated to be around 55 minutes.

POCO C75 5G headed to India, allegedly a Redmi rebrand

After the recent launch of the MediaTek Helio G81-Ultra-powered POCO C75 in the global market, the brand now appears to be looking to launch a 5G version of the device in India. 91mobiles has discovered the POCO C75 5G moniker on the MIUI ROM website which backs this claim. The site reveals that the device carries the model number 24116PCC1I for the Indian variant and will come with HyperOS 1, which is based on Android 14.

Additionally, 91mobiles has claimed that the device will be a rebranded version of the Redmi A4 5G, citing industry sources. For those unaware, the Redmi A4 5G is among the cheapest 5G smartphones in India which launched on November 20, 2024.

What this essentially means is that the specifications of the POCO C75 5G will likely be identical to the Redmi A4 5G. For those unaware, the Redmi A4 5G debuted with a tall 6.88-inch LCD display offering an impressive 120Hz refresh rate. The panel provides an HD+ resolution with a 20:9 aspect ratio, and up to 600 nits of peak brightness.

Under the hood, the device houses a Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. There is an option to expand the storage up to 1TB using a microSD card.

The device draws power from a large 5160mAh battery, paired with 18W wired fast charging. For optics, it has a 50 MP primary camera on the back, alongside an auxiliary camera. The front camera is 5 MP. It offers a 3.5mm audio jack with FM Radio support, as well as dual-SIM support for connectivity. The buddix x Casio G-Shock DW-5600 is a stylish take on the classic DW-5600 model, featuring a white base with green and red buddix logos across the band and engraved on the back.

While specific details about the watch’s features haven’t been officially confirmed, it’s likely to share the core functionalities of other DW-5600 models, including a 1/100th second stopwatch, countdown timer, multiple alarms, hourly time signal, fully automatic calendar, Super Illuminator LED backlight, and a long battery life of up to five years.

Pricing & availability

Unfortunately, the listing does not reveal any further details. The device was also spotted on the FCC database recently, confirming two configurations headed to the global market: 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB. It will come pre-loaded with HyperOS 2, which is Xiaomi’s latest Android 15-based skin.

iQOO could soon launch Neo 10R in India

After launching the iQOO 13 in China in November, iQOO is preparing for its Indian debut on December 3rd. Shortly after, the company might introduce another device. Reliable tipster Abhishek Yadav claims that the company is preparing to launch iQOO Neo 10R in the country.

If true, this would be the first for iQOO in India, as the company has never released a phone with the “R” suffix before. According to Yadav, the Neo 10R will offer three storage configurations: 8GB RAM with 128GB or 256GB storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage.

Details about the rest of the hardware remain under wraps, but iQOO’s past strategies might provide some clues. For instance, the iQOO Neo 9 Pro in India was a rebranded version of the Chinese Neo 9. If iQOO follows a similar approach, the Neo 10R might simply be a repackaged Neo 10 tailored for the Indian market.

What does the Neo 10 series offer?

Meanwhile, iQOO has already launched the Neo 10 series in China. The Neo 10 series boasts a familiar flat design reminiscent of last year’s Neo 9 series, but with slimmer bezels measuring a mere 1.4mm. While the frame remains plastic, the camera island gets a design refresh, and a vegan leather version adds a touch of novelty.

Both Neo 10 and Neo 10 Pro sport a large 6.78-inch 1.5K+ 144Hz 8T LTPO display. Its peak brightness goes up to a staggering 1800 nits globally and 4500 nits locally, a significant improvement over the Neo 9’s 1400 nits peak brightness.

Under the hood, the Neo 10 features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while the Neo 10 Pro runs on the Dimensity 9400 chipset. Both models include the Q2 gaming chip inherited from the upcoming iQOO 13 and a 6400mm² VC cooling system for sustained performance during intense gaming sessions.

Camera-wise, both Neo 10 and Neo 10 Pro rely on the Sony IMX921 main sensor, while the Pro model ups the ante with a 50MP ultrawide camera compared to the standard version’s 8MP offering.
