<h2><strong>Galaxy M55 vs Galaxy F54: Design and colours</strong></h2>

<p><strong>Galaxy M55:</strong></p>

<p>The Galaxy M55 is a good-looking device and a great choice for those that aren&#8217;t fans of the new flat edges that Samsung is using on the A-seires. This device features a flat screen, triple rear cameras, a centre-mounted selfie camera cutout at the top of the screen. Its power and volume rocker keys sit on the right-hand side of the frame, while the SIM tray sits to the left of the frame. Under the device is the USB-C port, speaker cutout, and microphone, but at the top sits an upwards firing speaker. Available colours on this device are Dark Blue and Light Green.</p>

<p><strong>Galaxy F54:</strong></p>

<p>Just like with the Galaxy M55, the more affordable Galaxy F54 brings a simplistic design to the market. It features the same camera setup style that we see on the Galaxy M55, housing three rear cameras and a centre-mounted front-facing camera. The power button and volume rocker keys on this device sit on the right-hand side of the device’s frame, while on the left-hand side, we get the SIM tray. At the base of the frame you’ll find the USB–C charging port, speakers, and a microphone. Buyers of this device will have to settle for either Meteor Blue or Stardust Silver, as these are the only colour options this device comes with.</p>

Let&#8217;s take a deep dive into the specs, features, and design of these phones to see which one might be the right fit for you.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Samsung-Galaxy-F55-1024x576.webp?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy F55" class="wp-image-628012" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Samsung-Galaxy-F55-1024x576.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Samsung-Galaxy-F55-300x169.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Samsung-Galaxy-F55-768x432.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Samsung-Galaxy-F55-696x392.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Samsung-Galaxy-F55-1068x601.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Samsung-Galaxy-F55-747x420.webp 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Samsung-Galaxy-F55.webp 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy F55</figcaption></figure></div>

<h3><strong>Display and Design</strong></h3>

<p>Both phones boast a large 6.7-inch FHD+ (1080&#215;2400 pixels) Super AMOLED Plus Infinity-O <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/display/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">display</a> with 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1000 nits peak brightness. This translates to smooth visuals and a great viewing experience for everyday tasks, gaming, and watching videos. They are nearly identical in terms of size and weight, measuring 163.9 x 76.5 x 7.8mm and weighing 180g.</p>

<p>However, the design is where they diverge. The Galaxy F55 stands out with a stylish vegan leather back, making it look more premium than the standard plastic back of the Galaxy M55. Additionally, both phones feature an IP67 dust and water resistance rating, offering protection against accidental spills and splashes. The phones also include an in-display fingerprint sensor.</p>

<h3><strong>Performance</strong></h3>

<p>Both phones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, a capable mid-range processor that should handle most everyday tasks and games without breaking a sweat. They come with options for either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage, allowing you to choose the configuration that best suits your needs. Both offer expandable storage via a microSD card slot for additional storage flexibility.</p>

<h3><strong>Software</strong></h3>

<p>Both phones come equipped with the latest <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-14/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Android 14</a> operating system with Samsung&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/one-ui-6-1/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">One UI 6.1</a> on top. This ensures a smooth user experience and access to the latest features and security updates. Samsung has committed to providing 4 generations of Android updates and 5 years of security updates for both phones, giving you peace of mind in terms of software support.</p>

<h3><strong>Camera</strong></h3>

<p>Both phones feature a 50MP main rear camera with OIS and VDIS (Video Digital Image Stabilization) for sharper photos and steadier videos. For wide-angle shots, both devices sport an 8MP lens with f/2.2 aperture. Additionally, they also come with a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture.</p>

<p>On the front, both phones sport a high-resolution 50MP selfie camera, which is a significant upgrade from previous models in their respective series. This should translate to sharper selfies and better video calls.</p>

<h3><strong>Battery and Charging</strong></h3>

<p>Both phones pack a decent 5000mAh <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/battery/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">battery</a>, which should provide all-day battery life for most users. They also support 45W fast charging, allowing you to quickly top up the battery when needed. However, similar to a growing trend, neither phone comes with a charger in the box. You&#8217;ll need to purchase one separately or use an existing compatible charger.</p>

<h3><strong>Pricing</strong></h3>

<p>The pricing for both phones is identical across all storage variants. The 8GB + 128GB model starts at Rs. 26,999, the 8GB + 256GB variant costs Rs. 29,999, and the top-end 12GB + 256GB model is priced at Rs. 32,999.</p>

<h3><strong>Verdict</strong></h3>

<p>When deciding between the Galaxy F55 and Galaxy M55, the choice essentially comes down to design. Both phones share the same features, with only a slight difference in aesthetics. If you prefer a stylish leather design with a premium feel, the F55 is the clear winner. Both models offer excellent value for the price, with similar performance, software experience, and battery life.</p>

<p>A few days back, Motorola <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/17/motorola-edge-50-fusion-launched-snapdragon-7s-gen-2-snapdragon-6-gen-1/">unveiled the Edge 50 Fusion</a>. This smartphone was announced alongside the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/17/motorola-edge-50-pro-launched-globally/">Edge 50 Pro</a> and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/16/motorola-edge-50-ultra-launched-globally/">Edge 50 Ultra</a>.</p>

<p>It is the most affordable of all three phones. It also comes in two variants for different markets.</p>

<p>One of these versions is exclusive to Latin America. This model has a downgraded chipset but a faster display.</p>

<p>That being said, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-edge-50-fusion/">Edge 50 Fusion</a> is expected to be released soon in India. Since the Edge 50 Pro is already available in the country with a starting price of ₹31,999, we can guess the price of the former.</p>

<p>The Edge 50 Fusion will likely cost around ₹25,000 in India. At this price, it will compete with several popular devices. Let’s have a look at some of its potential alternatives.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="854" height="641" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Motorola-Edge-50-Fusion-Featured.jpeg?x44794" alt="Motorola Edge 50 Fusion" class="wp-image-620966" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Motorola-Edge-50-Fusion-Featured.jpeg 854w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Motorola-Edge-50-Fusion-Featured-300x225.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Motorola-Edge-50-Fusion-Featured-768x576.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Motorola-Edge-50-Fusion-Featured-696x522.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Motorola-Edge-50-Fusion-Featured-560x420.jpeg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Motorola-Edge-50-Fusion-Featured-80x60.jpeg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Motorola-Edge-50-Fusion-Featured-265x198.jpeg 265w" sizes="(max-width: 854px) 100vw, 854px" /></figure>

<h3><strong>OnePlus Nord CE 4</strong></h3>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-nord-ce-4/">OnePlus Nord CE 4</a> is probably the well-balanced smartphone in this price segment just like its predecessor OnePlus Nord CE 3. It starts at ₹24,999 in the country.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="600" height="338" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/OnePlus-Nord-CE-4-2.jpg?x44794" alt="OnePlus Nord CE 4" class="wp-image-617702" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/OnePlus-Nord-CE-4-2.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/OnePlus-Nord-CE-4-2-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></figure>

<p>At this price, it offers a more powerful Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip compared to a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 inside the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion. However, the Nord sports a flat 120Hz OLED display compared to a curved 144Hz OLED panel on the Fusion.</p>

<p>Further, the Nord CE 4 comes with a larger 5,5000mAh battery and also supports faster 100W wired charging.</p>

<h3><strong>Nothing Phone 2a</strong></h3>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/nothing-phone-2a/">Nothing Phone 2a</a> is the most unique-looking smartphone in its segment. It starts at ₹23,999 in India.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="733" height="547" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Nothing-Phone-2a-White.png?x44794" alt="Nothing Phone (2a)" class="wp-image-607770" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Nothing-Phone-2a-White.png 733w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Nothing-Phone-2a-White-300x224.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Nothing-Phone-2a-White-696x519.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Nothing-Phone-2a-White-563x420.png 563w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Nothing-Phone-2a-White-80x60.png 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Nothing-Phone-2a-White-265x198.png 265w" sizes="(max-width: 733px) 100vw, 733px" /></figure>

<p>It is powered by a MediaTke Dimensity 7200 Pro chip, which is again more powerful than the silicon present underneath the Edge 50 Fusion. It has also got Glyph LED lights for personalized customizations.</p>

<p>The Phone 2a may have a flat OLED display but it sports a higher megapixel 50MP ultrawide camera. Finally, the battery is the same at 5,000mAh capacity but it only supports 45W wired charging, and the power adapter is not included in the box.</p>

<h3><strong>Redmi Note 13 Pro</strong></h3>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-note-13-pro/">Redmi Note 13 Pro</a> starts at ₹24,999 in India. It is powered by the same Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset as the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="768" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Redmi-Note-13-Pro-5G-1024x768.png?x44794" alt="Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G" class="wp-image-599739" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Redmi-Note-13-Pro-5G-1024x768.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Redmi-Note-13-Pro-5G-300x225.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Redmi-Note-13-Pro-5G-768x576.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Redmi-Note-13-Pro-5G-696x522.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Redmi-Note-13-Pro-5G-1068x801.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Redmi-Note-13-Pro-5G-560x420.png 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Redmi-Note-13-Pro-5G-80x60.png 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Redmi-Note-13-Pro-5G-265x198.png 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Redmi-Note-13-Pro-5G.png 1527w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The Redmi Phone also arrives with a higher 200MP primary camera and a larger 5,100mAh battery.&nbsp; But the charging speed is comparable at 67W.</p>

<p>Lastly, the 120Hz OLED display may be flat but it can play Dolby Vision content. Also, the panel is sharper as it has a 1.5K resolution (2712 x 1220 pixels).</p>

<h3><strong>Realme 12 Pro</strong></h3>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/realme-12-pro/">Realme 12 Pro</a> also starts at ₹24,999 in India. It is the only competitor that also has a curved display and a vegan leather back.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="683" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Realme-12-Pro-Featured-A-1024x683.jpg?x44794" alt="Realme 12 Pro" class="wp-image-601009" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Realme-12-Pro-Featured-A-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Realme-12-Pro-Featured-A-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Realme-12-Pro-Featured-A-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Realme-12-Pro-Featured-A-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Realme-12-Pro-Featured-A-2048x1365.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Realme-12-Pro-Featured-A-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Realme-12-Pro-Featured-A-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Realme-12-Pro-Featured-A-1920x1280.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Realme-12-Pro-Featured-A-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>However, the handset houses a less powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip. Anyhoo, the battery capacity and charging speed are nearly identical at 5,000mAh and 67W, respectively.</p>

<p>Most importantly, the Realme 12 Pro is the only device on the list with a proper three lens camera system. It arrives with a 50MP primary sensor, a 32MP 2x telephoto shooter, and an 8MP ultrawide unit.</p>

<h3><strong>Samsung Galaxy M55</strong></h3>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-m55/">Galaxy M55</a> is the best option for someone looking for a Samsung alternative in this segment. It starts at ₹26,999 in India.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="677" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-26-1024x677.png?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy M55" class="wp-image-615888" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-26-1024x677.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-26-300x198.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-26-768x508.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-26-696x460.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-26-635x420.png 635w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-26.png 1066w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy M55</figcaption></figure>

<p>The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. This makes it slower than the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion.</p>

<p>However, Samsung will offer longer software support than any other handset on this list. It will receive four Android updates and five years of security updates.</p>

<p>At last,&nbsp; the smartphone supports 45W wired charging but the power adapter needs to be purchased separately.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="768" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-rear--1024x768.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy M55 rear-" class="wp-image-617497" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-rear--1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-rear--300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-rear--768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-rear--1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-rear--696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-rear--1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-rear--560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-rear--80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-rear--265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-rear-.jpg 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy M55</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-m55/">Galaxy M55 5G</a> features a polycarbonate build that measures a mere 7.8mm thin and weighs a comfortable 180 grams. Samsung sent me the Denim Blue edition, which exhibits a fascinating color shift. Depending on how the light hits it, the hue ranges from deep blue to almost black. The back panel has a matte finish with a subtle glittery effect. Indeed, the phone has a good in-hand feel.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="768" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-front-1024x768.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy M55" class="wp-image-617500" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-front-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-front-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-front-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-front-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-front-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-front-1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-front-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-front-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-front-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-front.jpg 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy M55</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Galaxy M55 5G&#8217;s 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display boasts a peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits, ensuring comfortable viewing even in bright sunlight. It offers FHD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. While the phone doesn&#8217;t feature true stereo speakers, it does have a dual speaker setup. One speaker is within the top bezel earpiece, and the other is located on the bottom edge.</p>

<h2><strong>Performance and Software</strong></h2>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="768" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-front--1024x768.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy M55" class="wp-image-617498" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-front--1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-front--300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-front--768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-front--1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-front--696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-front--1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-front--560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-front--80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-front--265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-m55-front-.jpg 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy M55</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Performance-wise, the Galaxy M55 5G packs a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-7-gen-1">Snapdragon 7 Gen 1</a> SoC, promising power comparable to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. The variant I have features 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in storage.</p>

<p>Impressively, even as a mid-range offering, Samsung hasn&#8217;t cut corners on software support. Samsung promises four major OS updates and five years of security updates for the M55 5G, which runs Android 14 with One UI 6.1. This gives it a significant edge over many competitors in its price range. Additionally, it includes Samsung&#8217;s Knox security suite for enhanced protection. Yes, I do see a lot of preinstalled apps on the device.</p>

<p>The Galaxy M55 does not come with a charger. However, the device’s 5,000mAh battery comes with support for 45W fast charging. I haven’t tried gaming on this phone, but in my initial usage, the phone feels snappy to use with no hiccups, whether you are browsing social media, streaming music, or editing photos.</p>

</figure>

<p>To recall, the Galaxy M54 featured a 32-megapixel front camera and a 108-megapixel (OIS) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera system on the back. On the M55, Samsung is offering a 50-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel (OIS) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (macro) camera setup on the rear.</p>

<p>The M55 5G doesn&#8217;t seek to challenge high-end camera phones but aims for solid day-to-day versatility. In good lighting, the main camera sensor takes decent photos with enough detail and an acceptable dynamic range. Some of the photography features that Samsung is advertising include OIS support, Nightography (night mode), and AI-driven image clipper and object eraser tools. &nbsp; In my upcoming review, I will share more details on my photography experience with the M55.</p>

<p>The M55’s vibration motor feels like it has good feedback and allows users to adjust its intensity. There’s no 3.5mm audio jack and for security, it has an in-screen fingerprint sensor.</p>

<h2><strong>Samsung Galaxy M55 5G price in India and Rivals</strong></h2>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="768" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-rear-1024x768.jpg?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy M55" class="wp-image-617499" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-rear-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-rear-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-rear-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-rear-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-rear-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-rear-1068x801.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-rear-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-rear-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-rear-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-rear.jpg 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy M55</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Galaxy M55 5G has arrived in three options in India: 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 12GB+256GB. The prices of these variants are Rs 26,999 (~$325), Rs 29,999 (~$360), and Rs 32,999 (~$395), respectively. On Samsung India’s website and Amazon, the M55 is available with a Rs 2,000 (~$24) instant discount via various bank cards. In retail stores, buyers can either take advantage of Rs 2,000 off using HDFC bank cards or Rs 2,000 off on exchange. Apart from the Denim Blue option shown in the images in this post, the phone also comes in a Light Green version.</p>

<p>Between Rs 25,000 (~$300) and Rs 30,000 (~$360), there are a lot of players from different brands. Hence, the Galaxy M55 faces competition from the likes of the Poco X6 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro series, Realme 12 Pro+ series, Honor X9b, OnePlus Nord CE 4 5G, Oppo Reno 11 5G, Samsung Galaxy A35 5G, and Motorola Edge 50 Pro 5G. Only the recently released rivals have been considered here.</p>

<p>With competitive pricing starting at Rs 26,999, the Galaxy M55 5G presents a compelling option in the mid-range smartphone segment. However, it faces stiff competition from a crowded field of rivals offering similar features and performance. Ultimately, my initial impressions of the Galaxy M55 5G are positive, and I look forward to exploring its capabilities further in my upcoming review.</p>

<p>The Nubia Flip 5G will launch as the brand’s first clamshell foldable smartphone. It will arrive with mid-range specs and a price to match them. It is expected to be more affordable than last year’s Motorola Razr 40.</p>

<p>The phone <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/04/nubia-flip-5g-specs/">will offer</a> a 6.9-inch main display, a 1.43-inch circular cover screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, a 50MP rear camera, a 16MP selfie camera, a 4,310mAh battery, and 33W charging support.</p>

<h3><strong>Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G Series</strong></h3>

<p>The Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G series is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/04/infinix-note-40-pro-series-launching-india-april-12/">set to launch</a> in India on April 12 (Friday). The company will unveil Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G and Infinix Note 40 Pro Plus 5G. The duo was announced globally recently.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="680" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Infinix-Note-40-Pro-5G.webp?x44794" alt="Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G" class="wp-image-616193" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Infinix-Note-40-Pro-5G.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Infinix-Note-40-Pro-5G-300x199.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Infinix-Note-40-Pro-5G-768x510.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Infinix-Note-40-Pro-5G-696x462.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Infinix-Note-40-Pro-5G-632x420.webp 632w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Both these phones come with nearly identical specs. They only differ in terms of battery and charging speed. The ‘Pro’ variant houses a 5,000mAh battery and supports 45W wired charging as opposed to a 4,600mAh battery and 100 wired charging on the ‘Pro Plus.’</p>

<p>Apart from the aforementioned differences, the duo arrives with a 6.78-inch FHD+ 120Hz curved AMOLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC, a 108MP rear camera, a 32MP selfie camera, JBL-tuned dual stereo speakers, and 20W wireless MagCharge support.</p>

<p>Leaks have revealed that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/samsung">Samsung</a> Galaxy M55 5G may arrive with a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/03/29/samsung-galaxy-m55-indian-launch-teased-pricing-leaks/">starting price</a> of Rs 26,999 (~$325). This means that the device will face competition from smartphones of different brands in the same price category. The specifications of the smartphone are no secret, as it is already available for purchase in some markets, like Brazil. Previously, it was thought that the M55 could be a rebranded or tweaked version of the Galaxy A55. However, it is quite different from the A55, which is priced at around Rs 40,000 (~$480) in India.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/02/samsung-galaxy-m55-5g-m15-5g-india-launch-date-key-specs/">On April 8</a>, India will see the launch of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-m55/">Galaxy M55</a> alongside the Galaxy M15. Are you looking forward to purchasing it? If yes, this list of the top 5 standout features of the M55 might help you.</p>

<h3><strong>120Hz AMOLED display</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="677" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-26-1024x677.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-615888" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-26-1024x677.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-26-300x198.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-26-768x508.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-26-696x460.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-26-635x420.png 635w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-26.png 1066w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy M55 5G </figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Galaxy M55 mid-range phone flaunts a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ display flanked by slim bezels. The screen offers FHD+ resolution and 48Hz to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate support. </p>

<p>With a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits, will be capable of delivering vibrant and stunning visuals even in bright outdoor environments.</p>

<h3><strong>Big battery with 45W fast charging</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="457" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-25-1024x457.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-615886" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-25-1024x457.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-25-300x134.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-25-768x343.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-25-696x311.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-25-1068x477.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-25-941x420.png 941w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-25.png 1203w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Galaxy M55 supports 45W charging</figcaption></figure>

<p>Last year, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-m54">Galaxy M54</a> came with a massive 6,000mAh battery that carried support for 25W fast charging. This time around, Samsung has reduced the battery size to 5,000mAh on the M55, but increased the fast-charging support to 45W. </p>

<p>According to the brand, the M55 can charge from 0 to 70 percent in just 30 minutes. However, like the recent Samsung, the M55 may not come with an in-box charger.</p>

<h3><strong>Longer software support</strong></h3>

<p>The Galaxy M55 will ship with One UI 6 based on Android 14. To recall, the Galaxy M54 model is eligible for four years of Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates. </p>

<p>It&#8217;s likely Galaxy M55 owners will enjoy the same generous software update policy, making it one of the longest-supported smartphones on the market.</p>

<h3><strong>Decent 4nm Snapdragon 7-series chip</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-24.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-615885" width="758" height="425" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-24.png 963w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-24-300x168.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-24-768x431.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-24-696x390.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-24-749x420.png 749w" sizes="(max-width: 758px) 100vw, 758px" /><figcaption>Snapdragon 7 Gen 1</figcaption></figure>

<p>The Galaxy M55 is powered by the 4nm <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-7-gen-1">Snapdragon 7 Gen 1</a> chipset, which debuted in May 2022. The Honor 90 is the only other phone available in India equipped with the same chip. </p>

<p>The leaked prices of the M55 suggest that it will compete with the likes of Snapdragon 7s Gen 2-powered phones, such as the Redmi Note 13 Pro and the Realme 12 Pro+. For those who don’t know, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/09/24/snapdragon-7s-gen-2-rebrand-snapdragon-6-gen-1/">quite similar to the older Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip</a>. </p>

<p>In terms of performance, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 may work similarly to the SD7sGen2 if not slightly better. Additionally, reports suggest that the device will come equipped with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in storage.</p>

<h3><strong>Versatile camera setup</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="547" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-23-1024x547.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-615883" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-23-1024x547.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-23-300x160.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-23-768x410.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-23-696x372.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-23-1068x570.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-23-786x420.png 786w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/image-23.png 1146w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy M55 camera setup</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The M54 offered a 32-megapixel front camera and a 108-megapixel (OIS) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera unit. </p>

<p>The Galaxy M55, on the other hand, has an OIS-assisted 50-megapixel main camera and the same ultra-wide and macro cameras on the back. On the front, the M55 flaunts a 50-megapixel selfie camera, which means the phone will be good for people who prefer blogging and snapping selfies.</p>

<p>Overall, the Galaxy M55 seems like a solid mid-range contender. Its vibrant display, ample battery with faster charging, generous software support, capable processor, and versatile camera system make it an attractive option. However, it remains to be seen how it fares in real-world performance and compares to its competitors when it officially launches in India.</p>

<h3><strong>Samsung Galaxy M55 key specifications, live shots</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large is-resized is-style-default"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-images-1-1024x576.png?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy M55 leaked image" class="wp-image-612866" width="696" height="391" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-images-1-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-images-1-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-images-1-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-images-1-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-images-1-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-images-1-747x420.png 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-images-1.png 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy M55 live shot by Mukul Sharma</figcaption></figure>

<p>According to Sharma, the Galaxy M55 will come equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset and 12 GB of RAM. Furthermore, Sharma claims that the device will be the slimmest M-series phone from the brand.</p>

<p>The Galaxy M55 is expected to arrive in black and blue color options. Earlier this week, the tipster gave the first look at the blue edition of the Galaxy M55. Now, he has released a few more images to showcase the slim design of the device.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-style-default"><img loading="lazy" width="800" height="450" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-images-2.webp?x44794" alt="Samsung Galaxy M55 images 2" class="wp-image-612865" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-images-2.webp 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-images-2-300x169.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-images-2-768x432.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-images-2-696x392.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Samsung-Galaxy-M55-images-2-747x420.webp 747w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Samsung Galaxy M55 live shot by Mukul Sharma</figcaption></figure>

<p>The previously seen <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/03/20/samsung-galaxy-m55-5g-with-snapdragon-7-gen-1-appears-on-google-play-console/">Play Console</a> and Geekbench listings have revealed that the device will feature the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-7-gen-1">Snapdragon 7 Gen 1</a> chipset and 8 GB of RAM. It is expected to run on One UI 6-based Android 14. The screen of the device is expected to support FHD+ resolution, but its exact size is not known yet.</p>

<p>According to its FCC certification, the Galaxy M55 will also support 45W fast charging. Like the M54 from last year, the successor model may house a 6,000mAh battery.</p>

<p>According to Sharma, Samsung will also announce the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-m15/">Galaxy M15</a> alongside the M55. The phone, which features the Dimensity 6100+ chip and a 6,000mAh battery, is already available in Iraq. The same device is expected to be released in the Indian market, probably in April.</p>

This page <a href="https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-m55-launch-india-soon-support-webpage/">can be found</a> on the company’s three regional websites, namely India, Latin America, and Levant.</p>

<p>At present, it is not known in which of these markets the product will be unveiled first. However, India seems to be a strong contender as a well-known tech influencer from the country has <a href="https://twitter.com/stufflistings/status/1769728677258899544">shared</a> a live image of the phone.</p>

<p>The picture showcases the Galaxy M55 in blue and black colors. The device has Samsung’s distinctive vertically aligned triple camera setup.</p>

<p>The back panel slightly curves along the edges and seems to be made of plastic just like the frame. Finally, the handset lacks the new key island design found on the latest Galaxy A series smartphones.</p>

<p>As per <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/21/samsung-galaxy-m55-5g-surfaces-on-geekbench-revealing-key-details/">Geekbech</a>, the device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, making it the first phone from Samsung to use this chipset. Thanks to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/01/24/samsung-galaxy-m55-5g-finally-arrives-on-fcc-confirms-45w-charger/">FCC</a>, we also know that the handset will support 45W wired charging.</p>

<p>We are looking forward to learning more details about the Galaxy M55 in the coming days.</p>

<p>The smartphone could launch the Galaxy M55 in some selected countries by the end of next month. </p>

<h2><strong>Samsung Galaxy M55 5G Specifications (Expected)</strong></h2>

<p>Considering the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/21/samsung-galaxy-m55-5g-surfaces-on-geekbench-revealing-key-details/">Geekbench listing</a>, the Galaxy M55 5G seems to be a promising successor to the Galaxy M54 5G, with anticipated upgrades in hardware and software. The listing suggests a device with 8GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, and an Adreno 644 GPU running on Android 14-based One UI software.</p>

<p>The smartphone successor, i.e., the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-m54/">Galaxy M54</a>, was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/03/23/samsung-galaxy-m54-launch/">launched in March 2023 </a>with competitive specifications. It features a 6.7-inch sAMOLED Plus display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device incorporated a fingerprint reader, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and ran on an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/02/23/sasmung-exynos-1380-1330-launch/">Exynos 1380 SoC</a> with a Mali-G68 MP5 GPU. It offered 8GB of RAM, 128/256GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card), and a robust 6000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.</p>

<p>Considering the specifications of the Galaxy M54 5G, the Galaxy M55 seems to bring hardware improvements and ship with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/01/05/samsung-releases-one-ui-6-android-14-update-for-galaxy-a52-a23-4g-and-tab-s6-lite-2022/">One UI 6.0</a>. If the launch timeline follows a similar pattern, the Galaxy M55 might unveil after February 2024, suggesting a potential launch later in the year.</p>

<p>It will be interesting to see the specific upgrades and features that the Galaxy M55 will bring to the table, catering to users who are looking for a mid-range 5G-capable device.</p>
