According to tipster Yogesh Brar, Nothing is preparing to unveil its first branded smartwatch in September. The wearable is tipped to feature the company’s signature transparent-inspired design language, which has become a defining element across its smartphones and audio products.

The tipster also claims that the smartwatch will debut in select markets and carry a price tag of under $300. While hardware specifications have not surfaced yet, its expected pricing suggests that Nothing could target the premium smartwatch segment rather than the affordable category served by its CMF sub-brand.

Nothing has so far focused on smartwatches through CMF, with models such as the CMF Watch Pro 2 and the recently launched CMF Watch 3 Pro. These watches offer features such as AMOLED displays, built-in GPS, Bluetooth calling, health tracking, and multi-day battery life while running a real-time operating system.

The Nothing Phone (1), the company’s first smartphone, is receiving its final update before it reaches the end of its update cycle. There’s nothing fancy about the update: just the July 2026 security patch and a couple of fixes. Nothing has delivered exactly what it promised the Phone (1) users four years ago.

In a post on the community forum, Nothing announced details about the latest software update and also confirmed that “Phone (1) is reaching the end of its software lifecycle.” Launched in July 2022 with Android 12, the smartphone received its final major Android update with Android 15, fulfilling the promise of three major Android upgrades.

With the latest update, the device completes its four years of security support, fulfilling the promise made at the launch event. That means the device is no longer eligible to receive any type of updates.

Nothing warns that the device may use more power and feel warmer during installation, which isn’t something to worry about. After every update, there’s a lot of background processing that happens behind the scenes, which can also drain the battery faster. But the device eventually returns to normal once the update is complete.

The 3 major Android updates and 4 years of security patches for the Nothing Phone (1) may sound underpromising by today’s standards, but back in the day, this was what the best mid-range Galaxy and Google Pixels were up to. With time, Nothing has also bumped up its update policy, now offering 5 major Android updates and 7 years of security updates for the Phone (3).

The number of replies on the community post suggests that many people are still holding onto the Nothing Phone (1) in 2026. Those do not need to worry just yet, as the device will continue to work fine. However, it won’t receive newer security patches. That means the phone won’t have patches against vulnerabilities discovered from here on.

You may want to take a moment to determine if it’s the right time to move on, especially given that newer models promise way longer software support.

Nothing is set to introduce the Nothing Ear (3a) on July 7 — tomorrow — alongside the Phone (4b). Spoiling the fun for the brand, German publication WinFuture has released a set of images, showing the earbuds in all colors. 

The overall design isn’t much different from what we are used to from Nothing. The in-ear buds are packed in a transparent case with a cradle that matches the color of the earbuds themselves. Speaking of which, Nothing is introducing a new pink option for the Ear (3a), while it will also be available in yellow, white, and black. 

Nothing Ear (3a) Specifications 

As for the specs, the Ear (3a) is said to house 12mm audio drivers that will support LDAC and Hi-Res Audio Wireless. The marketing material also reveals a feature called “audio snapshots.” New for Nothing earbuds, the feature could be an easy way to take quick voice memos. 

It can be enabled by pressing the touch-sensitive area in the stem, but while on calls, it starts call recording. There is no word on whether the earbud supports active noise cancelling, but since they have an in-ear tip-style design, you can expect a decent level of noise cancellation nonetheless. 

According to the report, the Ear (3a) could cost around €99 in Europe. A direct conversion means you could be spending close to $115 in the US, but Nothing usually decides the US price separately. We are expecting an MSRP of $99. That’s for Nothing to decide, and since the launch is just a few hours away, you won’t have to wait that long for full official details.

The latest Nothing OS update should roll out to all smartphones except the Nothing Phone (1), which has already reached the end of its update lifecycle. Here’s a list of devices receiving the update along with the firmware version:

As always, the update should be rolling out in batches, and therefore, it can take a few days to reach all users. To check for the latest updates, go to Settings > System > System updates.

With the latest update, you can use the depth effect on the lock screen and adjust clock face sizes and alignment. The depth effect now also works with Atmosphere wallpapers.

The status bar has been upgraded to display the dedicated Nothing headphones icon when headphones are connected. The update also includes many under-the-hood changes to improve the launcher animations and overall system stability.

Nothing has also added a security reminder for the face unlock method. Plus, the update package includes the June 2026 security patch that fixes dozens of vulnerabilities found in the previous software. You can read more about the patches on this page.

Now, tipster Yogesh Brar has shared several key specifications of the upcoming handset in a post on X.

Nothing Phone (4b) key specifications tipped

According to the tipster, the Nothing Phone (4b) will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device is said to be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, which aligns with the earlier Geekbench listing. The benchmark listing also suggested that the phone will ship with 8GB of RAM and run Android 16-based Nothing OS out of the box.

The leak further claims that the Phone (4b) will feature a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary camera. Nothing has already confirmed the presence of two rear cameras through its official teasers.

The handset is also expected to pack a 5,400mAh battery. For storage, it is tipped to arrive in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants. The device is also expected to be available in three color options, with a light blue finish already showcased by the company.

Nothing has already revealed that the Phone (4b) will feature a compact horizontal Glyph Bar instead of the full Glyph Interface seen on earlier models. The lighting strip is expected to handle notifications, charging status, and app alerts. The Geekbench listing showed the handset carrying the model number A005 and recorded single-core and multi-core scores of 1,088 and 3,155, respectively.

Nothing is expected to reveal the remaining details, including pricing and availability, at its launch event on July 7.

The newly shared images show that the Phone (4b) borrows design cues from both the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro while introducing its own identity. It retains Nothing’s transparent aesthetic, but only the upper camera island features the see-through treatment, similar to the Phone (4a) Pro.

The lower half of the rear panel has a cleaner finish, creating a simpler look than previous models. The phone also features the Glyph Bar, first introduced on the Phone (4a), replacing the larger Glyph Interface seen on older devices.

Nothing says the Phone (4b) is aimed at a younger audience and combines a refined unibody design with improved structural strength and a skin-friendly finish for a more comfortable in-hand feel. The official renders showcase the handset in a blue colour option, while leaks suggest it could also arrive in black and white variants. The front design, however, remains under wraps.

The Nothing Phone (4b) has appeared on Geekbench, revealing some key hardware details ahead of its official launch. 

If you have been following our coverage, you already know how this phone came about. After confirming they were skipping a new CMF smartphone in 2026 due to rising component costs, Nothing shifted focus to a new device under its main brand.

Co-founder Akis Evangelidis said that climbing RAM and storage prices made a proper CMF Phone 3 Pro difficult without either raising prices or cutting corners, so the company chose a different path.

The result is the Phone (4b). Evangelidis noted that the B Series is meant to expand into a new segment while keeping a clear product hierarchy below the A Series. The phone is confirmed to launch on July 7, 2026, and a Flipkart microsite is already live ahead of that date.

Nothing Phone (4b) Geekbench Listing

The listing confirms the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 consisting of a 2.30GHz prime core, 2.21GHz performance, and 1.80GHz efficiency cores. Graphics are handled by the Adreno 810 GPU, and the phone in testing has 8GB of RAM and Android 16 OS.

Benchmark scores came in at 1,088 for single-core, 3,155 for multi-core, and 2,896 for the OpenCL GPU test on Geekbench 6. 

The Phone (4b) sits below the Phone (4a) series in Nothing’s lineup. Nothing is expected to price it under Rs 25,000 in India. The phone is also set to feature a single rear camera, which would be a first for any Nothing device.

London-based smartphone maker Nothing has confirmed the Nothing Phone (4b) will launch on July 7th. Announced on X, “b” is a new line of affordable phones that might focus on doing the basics brilliantly. 

The company subtly teased the design yesterday, hinting at a single rear camera, which explains its budget nature. However, being a part of the Nothing family (and not CMF), it will inherit the transparent aesthetic that has become synonymous with the brand’s identity.

The company shared the announcement today with the caption “kept sketching the Phone (4a) series and accidentally made a new phone.” Nothing is still keeping the official looks under wraps, though, and much like the design, there’s no word yet on the specs.

Nothing’s co-founder and India President, Akis Evangelidis, shared some context on the vision and placement of the B series. He said, “The B Series builds on the success of the A Series by expanding into a new segment, while maintaining a clear product hierarchy.”

He further added, “The A Series has been our best-selling smartphone line, bringing the best of Nothing’s design innovation while focusing on the features that matter most. The A Series remains our most premium line below our flagship products, which don’t carry a letter designation. This avoids overusing suffixes and provides a clearer naming structure as the portfolio expands. Hope this is clear.”

As for pricing, the Nothing (4a) currently starts at Rs 37,999 in India, but that’s after a Rs 6,000 increase due to climbing memory prices. We expect the Nothing Phone (4b) to target a sub-25k segment in the country.

Nothing confirmed the “4b” suffix in the video itself, hinting that the Nothing Phone (4b) could be the official name. However, it raises an obvious question: why launch an entry-level device under the Nothing name rather than CMF, the sub-brand the company created specifically for affordable phones?

Nothing hasn’t addressed this directly, but every leak so far points to Nothing Phone (4b), so that’s the name we’re using until the company says otherwise.

Pricing will be an interesting story to watch. Nothing’s cheapest current phone, the Phone (3a) Lite, launched at Rs 20,999 before quietly climbing to Rs 25,000 after the memory crisis. 

CMF products have seen similar increases. In a refreshingly honest move, Nothing’s sub-brand CMF has decided to skip launching a new phone in 2026. Fans hoping for a successor to the well-liked CMF Phone 2 Pro will have to wait a bit longer.

The main reason? Skyrocketing memory prices. Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis confirmed that the team had been working on a follow-up, but rising costs for DRAM and storage made it tough to deliver a meaningful upgrade without pushing the price much higher, something that would go against CMF’s whole budget-friendly identity.

For context, the CMF Phone 2 Pro (launched in 2025) was praised for offering good value: a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset, a 120Hz AMOLED display, decent cameras, and solid battery life, all for around €259 or ₹18,999. But reports show memory prices jumped over 90% in early 2026, largely because of massive demand from AI data centers. That made the numbers just not add up.

Evangelidis put it pretty straightforwardly: “We’d rather be upfront about that than ship something we’re not proud of.” It’s a refreshing bit of transparency in an industry that often rushes out half-baked updates.

This isn’t just a CMF problem either. The main Nothing brand is feeling the same pressure: CEO Carl Pei has talked about memory costs nearly doubling and affecting phones like the Phone (4a). Across the board, brands are slowing down launches or rethinking their entry-level and mid-range plans to keep things affordable.

That said, CMF isn’t going quiet. They’ve already teased new products and even completely fresh categories coming later in 2026. Smartphone buyers hoping for those big, juicy discounts during the next sales season might be in for a letdown. Rising component costs are shaking things up, and memory chips have quietly become the most expensive part of building a phone these days.

Nothing’s co-founder and CEO, Carl Pei, called this out in a post on X on June 12. He explained that RAM and storage together can now make up more than half of a phone’s total bill of materials. For Nothing’s own Phone (4a), the memory costs literally doubled between the time they decided to build it and when it actually launched. And since it hit the market, those prices have doubled again. That kind of jump forces tough decisions and is pushing prices up across the board.

Suppliers are stretched thin, so phone makers aren’t just ordering whatever they need anymore; they’re stuck with limited quotas and have to pay premium prices for what they can get.

Pei pointed out that since February, a lot of new phones have launched about $100 more expensive than their predecessors. With costs still climbing, those big promotional discounts we’ve gotten used to are becoming much rarer.

Industry watchers back this up. DRAM prices have shot up sharply in 2026 because of the AI boom, adding 10-30% or more to the cost of building phones depending on the model. Budget and mid-range devices are feeling it the hardest, though even some premium ones have seen adjustments. Nothing itself had to increase the prices of both the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro across all variants shortly after their March launch.

Pei’s straightforward advice to anyone thinking about upgrading? The best time was yesterday. The second-best time is right now. Waiting longer could mean paying more and missing out on the kind of deals we used to see.

Whether you’re looking at entry-level devices or flagships, brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, Google, and Nothing are all navigating the same challenges. And it’s not just smartphones; the ripple effects are showing up elsewhere too. I just spotted the Lenovo ThinkBook 16 with the AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS on Amazon, priced nearly double compared to January 2026.

Nothing has not officially announced the Ear (3a) yet, but some early details are already coming to light.

Last year, Nothing introduced the Ear (3) as its flagship pair of wireless earbuds. Now, the London-based company appears to be working on a more budget-friendly version, the Nothing Ear (3a).

This isn’t entirely surprising. Nothing did something similar back in 2024 when it launched the Ear (a) as a cheaper alternative alongside the Ear (3), skipping what many expected to be an “Ear (2a).”

So far, the only confirmed trace of the product comes from an Indonesian regulatory database. The earbuds were listed under model number B190 alongside the CMF Buds Neo. However, the filing does not reveal any specifications, pricing, or a launch window.

According to a report by Dealabs, the Ear (3a) is expected to launch in four colors: white, black, yellow, and pink. Three of these are the same as the Ear (a). Pink is the only new addition.

Price may hold steady at €99 in France

The same source suggests a launch price of €99 in France. That’s the same price the Ear (a) launched at in 2024. The Ear (a) has since dropped to €89, so the Ear (3a) would come in slightly above it at launch.

No technical details or release date have been confirmed. It remains to be seen whether the Ear (3a) will include features missing from the Ear (a), such as wireless charging or improved noise cancellation, both of which are available on Nothing’s higher-end models.

CMF has confirmed the India launch timeline for its next smartwatch, the CMF Watch 3 Pro. After earlier teasers, the company has now locked in a specific date, setting the stage for its arrival in the country. The specifications of the device are no secret since it was unveiled globally last year.

CMF Watch 3 Pro specifications and features

The CMF Watch 3 Pro is scheduled to launch in India on May 6, following its earlier global debut. The smartwatch comes with a 1.43-inch circular AMOLED display featuring a 466 x 466 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of up to 670 nits with automatic adjustment. It features an aluminium alloy frame paired with a liquid silicone strap and carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

The device introduces a four-channel optical heart rate sensor, which is claimed to improve accuracy by over 10 percent compared to the previous generation. It also supports continuous SpO2 tracking, stress monitoring, sleep analysis with detailed insights, and women’s health tracking. With support for more than 130 sports modes and automatic workout detection, it aims to cover a wide range of fitness activities.

On the software side, the smartwatch includes AI-powered running guidance, personalized recovery insights, and workout summaries. Additional features include gesture controls, voice note transcription, real-time news updates, and integration with ChatGPT through the Nothing X app. The watch supports more than 120 watch faces and connects with both Android and iOS devices.

The CMF Watch 3 Pro packs a 350mAh battery, which is rated to last up to 13 days under typical usage. With heavier usage, it can last around 10 to 11 days, while enabling always-on display may reduce battery life to roughly 3.5 to 4.5 days.

CMF Watch 3 Pro price and availability

The CMF Watch 3 Pro will be available in India starting May 6 via Flipkart and select offline retail stores. Pricing has not been officially confirmed yet, but it is expected to be positioned under Rs 7,000 (~$75).

After debuting on the Nothing Phone (4a) series last month, the company has begun rolling out Nothing OS 4.1 to older devices. The rollout initially went live for the Nothing Phone (3), and quickly expanded to cover many mid-range smartphones.

As for the changes, the new OS 4.1 software introduces three new Breathing Break widgets. These widgets offer simple breathing exercises, designed to help users reset during the day. When you tap a widget, it starts a timer and asks you to perform inhaling and exhaling exercises.  

The update also adds a new Essential Voice feature. It’s an AI-powered voice-to-text transcription tool that supports over 100 languages, including regional languages such as Hindi, Bengali, and Tamil. Except for the Nothing Phone (2) and the CMF Phone 1, all other phones have received this new feature.

With OS 4.1, Nothing phones are finally getting the AI Eraser feature in the Nothing Gallery app. This feature intelligently detects bystanders and reflections, and also lets you manually select areas to remove. The Live updates feature has been upgraded to also work with Glyph Matrix and the Glyph Interface. And, the real-time updates are now visible across the Always-On Display, Status Bar, Lock Screen, and Notifications.

Nothing has also added a new clock face from Phone (3a) Community Edition, designed by community member @jadzok. In addition to new features, the update includes the April 2026 security patch. The Nothing OS 4.1 update package also includes many bug fixes and stability improvements to enhance the user experience.

Nothing has begun rolling out the Nothing OS B4.1-260414-1846 update for the Nothing Phone (3). The update brings a mix of new AI features, interface tweaks, and system fixes, along with the April 2026 security patch.

The main addition is Essential Voice, a speech-to-text feature built into the keyboard. It can be started by tapping the keyboard icon or long-pressing the Essential key. The tool is designed to make dictation cleaner and easier to use. It removes filler words and repeated phrases, and adjusts for corrections made while speaking. It can also detect when you want to translate something and insert the translated text directly. Users can save commonly used phrases like email addresses, which can be added through voice commands. The system also formats spoken input into lists, steps, or bullet points when it detects that structure.

On the interface side, Nothing has added a new lock screen clock face. This design first appeared on the Phone (3a) Community Edition and was created with community member Jad Zock. It includes a custom typeface and a wake-up animation.

Live Updates is another change in this release. It lets users follow real-time activity from supported apps like Google Maps. This information can appear on the lock screen, in the notification panel, and on the Glyph Interface. Support depends on the app and region.

Notifications have also been updated. The Essential Notifications settings page now has a cleaner layout with clearer descriptions. The system can suggest which notifications should be marked as essential based on usage.

The update also includes a set of fixes. eSIM setup instructions have been improved for clarity. Video calls on some third-party apps should run more smoothly, with fewer stutters. Issues affecting the notification panel and Quick Settings have been fixed. Nothing says that overall system stability has also been improved.

The update is being rolled out in phases, so users who haven’t received it yet should see the notification over the next few days.

Nothing has unveiled a new AI-driven feature called Essential Voice for its smartphones, aiming to improve the overall voice typing experience. The update focuses on making dictated text cleaner and easier to read while also adding translation and smart shortcut features. The company has also confirmed the first batch of devices that will receive the feature.

Essential Voice is designed to go beyond regular speech-to-text tools that often capture pauses, repeated words, and unnecessary fillers. Instead of converting speech exactly as spoken, the system refines sentences in real time to produce more polished text for messages, emails, and quick notes. The feature can be activated through the keyboard or the dedicated Essential Key available on supported Nothing smartphones.

The company says the tool supports more than 100 languages with automatic language detection. Users can also ask the system to instantly translate dictated text into another language while speaking. Another addition is the ability to create personalized shortcuts for commonly used phrases, names, or addresses. For example, saying the name of a favorite restaurant can automatically insert its saved address into the text.

At present, Essential Voice is available for devices like Nothing Phone (3) and Phone (4a) Pro. It will also arrive for Phone (4a) by early May.

Nothing has also stated that future updates will introduce context-aware suggestions so the feature can adapt depending on whether a user is typing a message, writing a work email, or performing a search.

The company added that audio recordings are encrypted during processing and are not stored permanently on its servers after the text is generated. This approach is aimed at addressing privacy concerns linked to cloud-based voice processing systems.

Nothing’s sub-brand CMF announced the CMF Phone 2 Pro in April last year. As the company refreshes the lineup once a year, early details about its successor are starting to surface right on schedule.

A new report from Android Headlines has revealed the specs of the CMF Phone 3 Pro ahead of its launch. Let’s learn about it. 

Nothing CMF Phone (3) Pro Specifications (Rumored)

According to the report, one of the biggest changes this generation could be the processor. The upcoming phone is expected to move away from MediaTek chips and instead use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. The CMF Phone 2 Pro, by comparison, uses a Dimensity 7300 Pro processor.

The phone is also said to have a rated battery capacity of 5,090mAh, with a typical capacity of around 5,400mAh. That will be paired with support for 45W wired charging, up from 33W on the previous model.

Design-wise, the changes seem more subtle. The mid-frame could switch from plastic to metal, which may improve both in-hand feel and durability.

Likewise, the rear camera layout is said to stay mostly the same, although the flash placement has reportedly been adjusted to create more space between the third camera and the dual-camera setup on the left.

The display is tipped to be an AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2392 × 1080, along with a centered punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera.

There’s no official confirmation yet from Nothing or CMF, and details could still change before launch. Still, if the report is accurate, the CMF Phone 3 Pro looks like a modest but deliberate update that will focus on incremental improvements rather than a major overhaul.

Nothing has quietly increased the price of the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite in India. According to a report by 91Mobiles, the price has been raised by Rs 3,000 across all variants.

As a result, the base 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model now costs Rs 24,999, up from Rs 21,999. The 8GB RAM and 256GB variant has increased from Rs 23,999 to Rs 26,999.

According to a circular from Nothing to retailers, the change is effective from April 6. However, it will only apply to new stock purchased from that date. Older stock will continue to sell at the original launch price.

The shift isn’t happening in isolation. Industry-wide component costs, especially memory, have been trending upward, prompting brands to reconsider pricing even after launch. Instead of waiting for a new product cycle, companies are increasingly making mid-cycle corrections to protect margins.

This trend has already been visible across several brands. Redmi and Realme have adjusted pricing on select models, while Samsung introduced newer A-series devices at noticeably higher starting points compared to previous generations.

Nothing Phone (3a) Lite Specs

The phone features a 6.77-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 3000 nits peak brightness. It also comes with Panda Glass protection.

The device runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro processor. Its triple rear camera setup includes a 50MP main camera using a 1/1.57 inch Samsung sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, there is a 16MP camera that records up to 1080p at 60fps.

For now, buyers should be able to get the Phone (3a) Lite for the original launch price, given they can find older inventory. Once that stock clears out, the higher price is likely to become standard across channels.

Nothing has started rolling out the first software update for the Phone (4a), just days after the device went on sale. The update is based on Nothing OS 4.1 and carries the build number B4.1-260309-1830, with a download size of 257MB. This update brings the March 2026 Android security patch along with several new features across the system, camera, and UI.

The update introduces Breathing Break widgets in the widget drawer, offering guided exercises for relaxation. Live Updates now extend across the lock screen, notification panel, and Glyph Interface, allowing users to track real-time activity from supported apps like Google Maps. The status bar also shows a dedicated icon when Nothing headphones are connected. Compatibility for Live Updates depends on app support and region.

In the Glyph Interface, the Essential Notifications settings UI has been redesigned for better clarity. A new generative ringtone feature has been added, enabling custom sounds paired with unique Glyph lighting patterns for calls and notifications.

Nothing has also expanded its Essential AI tools. The widget drawer now includes a recommendation section for quicker access to Nothing Playground and AI-driven community content. The Essential Space interface has been updated with a cleaner layout, along with new “For You” and “Library” sections. A new Events feature helps organise tasks, and a search function has been added for faster navigation. Some of these features will require a separate update via Google Play.

Visual changes include a new lock screen clock face inspired by the Phone (3a) Community Edition, co-created with community member Jad Zock. Lock screen customisation now supports Depth effect in beta, along with adjustable clock sizes and alignment. The password screen now includes a wallpaper blur effect, and dual network signals are merged into a single status bar icon.

Camera improvements include new presets such as an India-exclusive “Cricket” watermark and an “Amber” portrait mode. Playground Sync allows one-tap preset imports, while power-saving recording dims the screen during idle video capture. Image processing has also been improved with better exposure, colour accuracy, and HDR.

The update also improves system stability, network performance, and fixes display issues. The device may heat up during installation, but it will return to normal after completion.

Buying a smartphone under $500 in 2026 feels a bit like shopping in the middle aisle of a supermarket. You don’t walk in expecting luxury items, but suddenly there are plenty of surprisingly good things. 

A few years ago, this price range meant making obvious compromises, such as a good-enough processor, average cameras, and software that aged quickly. Fortunately, things are quite different in 2026.

Phones in this segment now come with bright OLED displays, capable chipsets, and batteries that comfortably last a full day. Some even borrow features from devices that cost twice as much. 

Here are the five best smartphones under $500 in March 2026.

Google Pixel 10a

Google’s Pixel A-series has long been the go-to option for people who want a simple Android phone that just works. The Pixel 10a continues that trend. 

Like previous models in the series, the phone focuses heavily on software and camera processing. The camera hardware itself is relatively modest compared to competitors in this list, but Google’s image processing tends to make up for it. 

The Pixel 10a also benefits from Google’s version of Android, which is clean and free of unnecessary extras. The display is a 120Hz OLED panel with a sufficient 2000 nits of brightness. 

However, Google is still using a year-old Tensor G4 chip under the hood. The rest of the Pixel 10 phones have a better Tensor G5 processor. That said, it can handle regular everyday tasks with ease. 

The phone has a 5100mAh Li-Po battery with 30W wired, PD 3.0, and 10W wireless charging support. 

For many buyers, the Pixel 10a is still the safe choice under $500. It’s not designed to stand out in every category, but it avoids major weaknesses.

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro

The Phone (4a) Pro is Nothing’s brand new option for a phone under $500. It keeps the company’s recognizable design language while trying to feel more polished than earlier models.

The phone includes a new Glyph Matrix on the back, which is a circular LED display made up of 137 LEDs. It can show things like a timer, a stopwatch, and such. 

Under the surface, the Phone (4a) Pro runs on a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor and features a 6.83-inch 144Hz AMOLED display with 5000 nits of peak brightness.

As for the camera system, you get a 50MP Sony Lytia 700C sensor for the main camera with optical image stabilization. This is paired with a 50MP Samsung JN5 periscope camera offering 3.5x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide lens. 

Nothing’s software is also fairly clean, which helps the phone feel responsive. The Phone (4a) Pro is not the most powerful option here, but it’s arguably the one with the most personality.

OnePlus 15R

OnePlus has traditionally used its “R” series to deliver strong performance at lower prices, and the 15R follows the same idea.

The phone focuses on two things: speed and battery life. It runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 paired with a dedicated chip that enables 3200Hz of touch sampling rate. 

Speaking of which, it has a 6.83-inch AMOLED display that refreshes at 165Hz. This screen is also PWM capable, HDR 10+, and Dolby Vision certified with a peak brightness of 3600 nits. 

Its biggest highlight, though, is the battery. The 15R includes a 7400mAh battery that can comfortably last through a full day and often stretch into a second day depending on usage. It supports 80W fast charging. 

You also get a fairly decent camera specs of 50MP-megapixel Sony IMX906 main sensor with optical image stabilization, and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. There is no dedicated telephoto camera here, so zoom relies on digital cropping.

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion

Motorola’s Edge Fusion series has quietly become one of the more balanced options in the midrange market. The Edge 70 Fusion continues that pattern.

Rather than focusing on one standout feature, the phone aims for overall balance. It includes a capable Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, a smooth6.78-inch curved OLED display, and a relatively clean version of Android 16. 

The device carries a 7000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 68W fast charging, which the company claims can provide a full day’s usage with a short charge.

Its camera hardware includes a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia 710 primary camera with optical image stabilisation. The setup also includes a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera with macro support and a dedicated light sensor.

The Edge 70 Fusion is the most affordable option on this list. Its 8GB + 128GB model is priced at Rs 26,999 (~$300), the 8GB + 256GB version costs Rs 29,999 (~$330), and the 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs 32,999 (~$360). 

Realme 16 Pro

Realme often competes in the midrange market by focusing on big numbers in the spec sheet, and the 16 Pro is no different.

One of the first things you notice is the battery. The phone includes a 700mAh battery, which can easily last more than a day with moderate use. It supports 80W wired charging. 

On the front, it has a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen can reach a whopping 6500 nits of peak brightness and is protected by AGC DT Star D+ glass. 

Cameras include a 200MP main sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide on the back. The front has a 50MP selfie camera. Powering everything is a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max 5G chipset with an Arm Mali G615 GPU. It comes with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. 

Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, face unlock, and all standard sensors.

The midrange market keeps getting better

Looking at these five phones together shows how much the midrange segment has evolved. Not long ago, phones under $500 required obvious compromises, slower processors, weaker cameras, or short software support.

That’s no longer always the case.

The Google Pixel 10a focuses on software and camera reliability. The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro offers a design that stands apart from typical smartphones. The OnePlus 15R leans into performance and battery life. The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion delivers a balanced experience. And the Realme 16 Pro emphasizes large batteries and strong hardware specs.

While the Headphone (a) shares several core features with the flagship Nothing Headphone (1), there are notable differences in audio tuning, battery life, design materials, and positioning. Here’s a closer look at how the two models compare.

Design and build

Both headphones follow Nothing’s recognisable transparent-inspired aesthetic and distinctive control layout, but they are aimed at slightly different audiences.

The Nothing Headphone (1) is positioned as the company’s premium over-ear headphone. It uses higher-end materials and a more refined design that aligns with flagship audio products. The overall construction feels more premium and is intended for users who value both aesthetics and build quality. The headphones weigh 329 grams.

The Nothing Headphone (a) focuses on accessibility and practicality with a polycarbonate build. While it still maintains Nothing’s design identity and tactile controls, the build has been simplified to help reduce cost. The headphones weigh around 310 grams and include a lightweight carry pouch.

In terms of colors, the Headphone (a) is available in White, Black, Pink, and Yellow, whereas the Headphone (1) is offered in more traditional color options.

Audio hardware and sound features

The two headphones share several similarities in terms of audio hardware.

The Nothing Headphone (a) features 40mm drivers with a titanium-coated diaphragm and supports Hi-Res Audio and LDAC codecs. It also supports AAC and SBC, ensuring compatibility across Android and iOS devices. The headphones offer a 20Hz to 40,000Hz frequency response.

The headphones pack a 1,060mAh battery and can deliver up to 135 hours of playback with ANC turned off and up to 75 hours with ANC enabled. Fast charging is also supported, with a five-minute charge providing up to eight hours of playback with ANC disabled.

The Headphone (1) includes a 1,040mAh battery. It offers up to 80 hours of playback with ANC off and up to 35 hours with ANC enabled using AAC playback. A five-minute charge can provide up to five hours of playback with ANC off.

Connectivity and software features

Both headphones integrate with the Nothing X app, allowing users to customize controls, adjust sound settings, and manage device features.

The Nothing Headphone (a) supports Bluetooth 5.4, dual-device connectivity, Google Fast Pair, and Microsoft Swift Pair, along with a low-latency mode.

The Headphone (1) supports Bluetooth 5.3, dual-device connectivity, LDAC, and similar software features through the Nothing X app.

Alongside the Phone (4a) series, Nothing has officially launched the Headphone (a). As an affordable alternative to the Headphone (1), the headphones feature a similar design to the Headphone (1) and offer good battery life and customizable sound.

Nothing Headphone (a) Specifications

The Headphone (a) stands out visually thanks to its four color options: yellow, pink, black, and white. Despite being over-ear headphones, the device is relatively lightweight at 310 grams. It uses memory foam ear cushions designed to sit comfortably during long listening sessions.

Nothing has also added an IP52 rating, meaning the headphones offer protection against dust and light splashes of water.

Inside the Headphone (a) are 40mm drivers with a titanium-coated diaphragm. According to Nothing, this material provides a more rigid structure for the drivers, helping to reduce distortion and deliver cleaner audio.

The headphones support Hi-Resolution Audio Wireless and the LDAC codec. Users can also tweak the sound profile through the Nothing X app, which includes an eight-band equalizer for more precise frequency adjustments than typical bass and treble sliders.

Adaptive Noise Cancellation and Smarter Controls

The Headphone (a) includes adaptive active noise cancellation with three preset levels — low, medium, and high — depending on how much background noise users want to block out.

There is also a transparency mode that lets outside sounds in, allowing users to stay aware of their surroundings. For calls, the headphones feature a three-microphone AI system that analyzes surrounding noise and isolates the user’s voice.

The headphones also use the same physical controls introduced on the earlier Nothing Headphone (1), including a Roller, Paddle, and Button built directly into the ear cups.

Nothing is also introducing a feature called Channel Hop. Users can activate it by pressing the button, allowing them to quickly switch between apps or functions without reaching for their phone. The same button can also work as a remote camera shutter.

As for battery life, Nothing says the headphones can deliver up to five days of continuous listening on a single charge. A quick five-minute charge is said to provide up to five hours of playback.

The Nothing Headphone (a) will be sold for $199, £149, or €159. Preorders begin on March 5 through Nothing’s website and selected partners.

The Nothing Phone (4a) and (4a) Pro are finally here, and unsurprisingly, both phones have their own design and character. The Phone (4a) has a cleaner profile with a pill-shaped rear camera module. Meanwhile, the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro has a bold new look, where the camera module covers the top, housing three camera lenses. 

Both phones also feature redesigned rear lighting systems and arrive with Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16. Nothing is promising three major OS updates and six years of security patches, matching the support window offered by the previous generation.

Here’s how the two new models differ.

Nothing Phone (4a)

The Nothing Phone (4a) retains the simpler design of its predecessor. The phone features a pill-shaped rear camera module and a new lighting system called the Glyph Bar on the back.

Glyph Bar places LEDs in a straight strip across the back. The bar is divided into six segments and contains 63 LEDs, along with the red recording indicator. The lights can reach up to 3,500 nits of brightness in three different levels, which is about 40% higher than the previous generation.

Inside, the phone runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. While it technically succeeds the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 used previously, the performance improvement is relatively small—only about 7% per Nothing. It’s paired with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. 

On the front, it has a 6.78-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1,224 × 2,720 pixels and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness climbs to 4,500 nits, and the screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i.

Camera hardware is where the vanilla model slightly differs from the Pro. The main camera uses a 50-megapixel Samsung GN9 sensor with an f/1.88 lens and optical image stabilization. The rest of the camera setup mirrors the Pro model, including a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto lens, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP front camera.

The body uses a plastic frame and measures 8.55mm thick. It carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance and features a 5,080mAh batterywith 50W wired charging support.

Price and availability

Pre-orders for the Nothing Phone (4a) start from today, and open sales will begin on March 13. The phone will be available through the official website and select retail partners. Here’s the price breakdown for EU, UK, and India:

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro

Coming to the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, the most visible change is the Glyph Matrix. It is a circular LED display on the back of the phone made up of 137 LEDs. While that’s fewer than the 489 LEDs used in the flagship Glyph Matrix seen on Nothing Phone (3), the new version is larger and brighter. 

The circular area is also about 57 percent bigger, and the LEDs can reach up to 3,000 nits of brightness. 

The Pro also upgrades the build quality with a metal unibody design, replacing the plastic frame used on the standard model. Despite the metal switch, the phone remains relatively light and is slimmer at 7.95mm thick.

It carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. Nothing says the phone can survive submersion in water up to 25cm for around 20 minutes.

Under the hood, the phone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. Compared to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 used in the previous generation, the new chip promises around 27 percent faster CPU performance, 30 percent better graphics performance, and a significant 65 percent boost in AI tasks.

The device pairs the chip with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. To maintain sustained performance, Nothing has added a 5,300mm² vapor chamber cooling system.

The display is also larger and faster than the one on the standard model. The phone features a 6.83-inch OLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1,260 × 2,800 pixels. Its peak brightness reaches 5,000 nits, and the panel uses 2,160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.

Camera hardware on the Pro includes a 50MP Sony Lytia 700C sensor for the main camera with optical image stabilization. The phone also includes a 50MP Samsung JN5 periscope camera offering 3.5x optical zoom, extendable to 7x using in-sensor zoom.

The ultra-wide camera remains unchanged from the previous model with an 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor and a 120-degree field of view. On the front, the phone uses a 32MP selfie camera.

Like the standard model, the Pro includes a 5,080mAh battery with support for 50W wired charging.

Price and availability

Pre-orders for the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro begin on March 13, with open sales starting on March 27. Surprise, surprise, it will also be available in the US. Here’s the pricing breakdown for EU, UK, India, and the US:

Ahead of the official launch on March 5, 2026, Nothing shared a teaser showing the rear of the Phone (4a) Pro as a dark silhouette, briefly lit up by a circular LED pattern. The short clip confirms that the phone will feature a Glyph Matrix, the circular LED array that first appeared on the flagship Nothing Phone (3).

On the Phone (3), the Glyph Matrix consisted of 489 micro-LEDs, allowing the phone to display fairly detailed animations, everything from notifications and timers to progress indicators and even pixel-style caller IDs.

The version coming to the Phone (4a) Pro, however, appears to be noticeably scaled down. Early information suggests the matrix may use around 137 micro-LEDs, a significant reduction from the flagship implementation.

That change has already sparked debate within the community. Discussions on platforms like Reddit and X show many fans wondering whether the reduced LED count will limit what the feature can actually do. With fewer lights, animations may not look as smooth, and complex icons or progress indicators could lose some detail.

An animation circulating online, shared by X user @adi, appears to demonstrate the matrix in action. It shows familiar Glyph-style behaviors such as pulsing notification alerts and charging indicators. But compared to the Phone (3), the visuals do seem less detailed.

Another detail that remains unclear is the physical size of the matrix. The teaser doesn’t reveal whether the LED circle itself is smaller or simply uses fewer LEDs within the same space.

The base Phone (4a) takes a different approach altogether. Instead of the circular matrix, it features a Glyph Bar. By keeping the Glyph Matrix exclusive to the Pro model, Nothing is clearly trying to create a visual and functional gap between the two devices.

With the launch event scheduled for later today in many regions, we won’t have to wait long to see the full picture. Whether the scaled-down Glyph Matrix turns out to be a clever cost-saving tweak or a feature that feels watered down remains to be seen. Either way, the teaser has already done one thing successfully: it has people talking.

Nothing has released a new software update for the Nothing Phone (3) with build number Nothing OS B4.0-260206-1135. The update introduces new Glyph features, improves system stability, and fixes several bugs across camera, audio, and connectivity.

A key addition is support for showing caller information and charging progress on the Glyph Matrix by shaking the phone. Users can enable this by going to Settings > Glyph Interface > Flip to Glyph and turning on the required toggles. Nothing has also added an Essential Notifications entry in Settings for easier access. It is available under Settings > Notifications > Essential Notifications.

The Essential Apps section has also been updated. The widget library now includes a recommendation section that gives faster access to Nothing Playground, where users can discover AI-powered community creations.

The update includes several optimizations as well. Apps stored in Private Space can now be updated directly through the Google Play Store. The Weather widget location permission prompt has been improved to reduce interruptions. Ringtone performance has been optimized for better stability and improved compatibility with third-party apps. Vibration and haptic feedback stability has also been improved in certain scenarios. Call volume performance has been optimized when using Oticon Zircon 2 miniRITE T hearing aids.

Camera stability has been enhanced overall. The update also fixes an issue where the Camera preview could freeze in Portrait mode when switching from Photo mode in certain situations. Other fixes include resolving cases where dual SIM ringtones could get mixed up, speaker volume could become very low after switching from a Bluetooth call in some apps, and game audio would not resume after returning from Recent apps.

On the connectivity side, the update fixes an issue where the mobile network icon could incorrectly show no internet in certain cases. Network stability and overall system stability have also been improved.

Nothing is preparing to expand its audio lineup again, this time with a more affordable pair of over-ear headphones. The upcoming Nothing Headphone (a) is set to debut on March 5, 2026, during the company’s “Built Different” event.

The event will also introduce the Nothing Phone (4a) and Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, suggesting Nothing is continuing its push to build a broader, connected ecosystem rather than focusing on standalone devices.

The Headphone (a) appears to be a more accessible alternative to the original Nothing Headphone (1), which launched at €299. This new model is expected to come in at €159 in Europe and £149 in the UK, roughly half the price of the flagship version.

To reach that price point, Nothing is reportedly opting for a plastic construction instead of more premium materials. That doesn’t necessarily mean it will feel cheap, but it does signal a clear shift toward the mid-range segment.
