The OPPO Reno7 series was launched with the latest ColorOS version currently available but stuck to Android 11 despite Android 12 being out for several months at the time of their release. But that won’t be the case for long thanks to the start of the Android 12-based ColorOS 12 public beta recruitment program in India and China for the Reno7 Pro 5G.

With a post on the OPPO community forums, it’s been announced that Reno7 Pro 5G users can now apply for the ColorOS 12 public beta program in India. Registration starts March 29 and will last until March 31. Applications will then be reviewed and users who will have made the cut will get an OTA (within a week following registration). The application quota is 5,000, so you’d want to hurry.

And in China, the beta recruitment has commenced for the Reno7 Pro 5G, Reno7 Pro 5G League of Legends Mobile Limited Edition, and Reno7 SE 5G.

Before applying, just make sure you’re on the following firmware versions by heading over to Settings > About Phone > Version Information > Version Number:

• Reno7 Pro 5G (India) — C.12/C.13
• Reno7 Pro 5G (China) — A.18 and above
• Reno7 Pro 5G League of Legends Mobile Limited Edition (China) — A.06 and A.07
• Reno7 SE 5G (China) — A.10 and above

To apply for the beta update, navigate to Settings > Software Update > Click the settings icon on the screen > Apply for Beta Version > Update Beta Version.

Of course, the program has only been opened up for users residing in India and China, but it’s safe to assume from it that global Reno7 Pro 5G and Reno7 SE 5G users will be getting treated to Android 12-based ColorOS 12 soon as well.

OPPO, one of the world’s leading smartphone makers, announced that the company conducted a 5G standalone and non-standalone network trial in partnership with Indian telecom network operator Reliance Jio.

Reliance Jio, which is a relatively new player in India’s telecom sector but one of the leading ones, carried out these tests by utilizing the allocated mid-band trial spectrum which is in the range of 3.3GHz to 3.6GHz frequency range.

OPPO has further said that the 5G trial was successfully concluded on the Reno7 smartphone in a demo setup. The company adds that it could get lag-free 4K video streams on the device along with super-fast download and upload speed.

The OPPO Reno7 Pro, a smartphone that was launched in the Indian market a few weeks ago, comes with support for up to 10 bands while the standard Reno7 supports up to 13 bands that will support access to the 5G network anywhere in the country. The OPPO Reno7 is priced at ₹28,999 in the Indian market.

In a statement, Tasleem Arif, Vice President, India Research & Development Head, OPPO India, said:  “Technology such as 5G is altering how the world communicates today and tests like these will further consolidate our efforts in the industry and provide the best value proposition for our customers.”

The Indian government is set to open auctions for the 5G spectrum in the country by the end of this year and is eyeing a commercial rollout of the next-generation communication technology sometime in 2023.

First of all, it is built with more premium materials: a glass back and an aluminum frame. Further, it is thinner and lightweight with a thickness of just 7.5 mm and a weight of 180 grams. Further, it has those flat borders like the latest iPhones making the phone even more elegant, as well as LED lights placed on the rear side which can be used for notifications and call alerts. But the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE remains a beautiful and well-built phone. Further, it is waterproof with the IP68 certification and it is more compact than its rival.

Display

The displays of the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G and the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE are more or less at the same level. They have a lot of things in common: they are AMOLED panels with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and the HDR10+ certification improving the image quality on streaming platforms. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has a smaller display with a diagonal of 6.4 inches and a higher refresh rate which can reach 120 Hz. Further, its display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, so it should be very resistant.

Specs & Software

In several markets, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is powered by the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform by Qualcomm which is a better SoC than the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 Max found on the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G. However, the Reno7 Pro 5G has a higher quantity of RAM: 12 GB, which looks more important than a slightly better chipset. Both the phones ship with a highly customized user interface on top: One UI 4 based on Android 12 and ColorOS 12 based on Android 11, respectively. Do you prefer having a slightly better chipset or 4 gigs more RAM?

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is definitely a more interesting camera phone. It has a great 12 MP main camera with OIS, a 12 MP telephoto sensor with OIS and 3x optical zoom, and a 12 MP ultrawide camera with a 123° FOV, as well as a 32 MP front snapper which is able to record 4K videos. Unfortunately, the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G lacks a telephoto sensor, replaced by a useless macro camera with a 2 MP resolution. Even the ultrawide camera is inferior with its 8 MP resolution, while the main sensor is a good 50 MP Sony camera.

Battery

The batteries found on the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G and Samsung Galaxy S21 FE come with the same capacity: 4500 mAh. Given that the capacities are the same and the components are similar in terms of energy consumption, we expect these devices to offer a similar battery life. The OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G features a faster charging technology with 65W power, while the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE supports wireless charging, unlike its rival.

Price

The OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G 12/256 GB is priced at about Rs. 54,999 / $730 in the Indian market, and the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE starts from the same listing price in the 6/128 GB configuration. There is no definitive winner for this comparison: the Reno7 Pro 5G features a better design, those great LED lights, faster charging, and more RAM. With the Galaxy S21 FE, you get a better chipset, very good cameras, a waterproof body, and wireless charging.

The handset won’t come in Europe, neither under the Find X5 series, and it will remain exclusive for the Asian market. Instead of the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G, the vanilla Reno7 will hit the European regions under the Find X5 Lite moniker. The same happened to its predecessor: the Reno6 Pro 5G, as the European variant of this handset, is a rebranded Reno6 Pro+. Is the Reno7 Pro 5G really an upgrade of the Reno6 Pro 5G? Is it worth switching from the latter to the former? This comparison will clear your ideas in regards.

Design

One of the most important upgrades of the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G if compared to its predecessor is definitely the design. Unlike the OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G, the new handset comes with a flat design including flat borders just like the latest iPhones and even a flat display. It is the first Pro variant from the Reno series without a curved display. Further, on the rear side, it comes with an array of LEDs surrounding the camera module which can be used to alert the users regarding new notifications and calls. The OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G has a curved screen at the edges and curved borders; both the phones come with a glass back and the Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Which one is the most attractive? It mostly depends on tastes, but the Reno7 Pro is definitely more original.

Display

It looks like the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G and the Reno6 Pro 5G have the same display panels. We are talking about an AMOLED display with a diagonal of 6.55 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 90 Hz refresh rate, an in-display fingerprint reader, and the HDR10+ certification. It is a very good display, not the best one but the image quality provided is great. These phones come with great color accuracy, a high brightness, and they provide a smooth user experience. Note that the Reno7 Pro 5G is the only one to offer stereo speakers.

Specs & Software

Even the hardware departments of these two devices are very similar to each other, but there is an important difference: the chipset. The OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset Max which is an upgraded version of the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 mobile platform found on the OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G. So, if you choose the former, you will get a slight performance boost. The memory configurations are the same, with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS storage, but note that the Reno6 Pro 5G has UFS 2.1 internal storage instead of UFS 3.1: it makes the difference when it comes to reading and writing speeds. Last but not least, the former ships with ColorOS 12 out of the box, while the latter ships with ColorOS 11.3 (but it has already been updated to ColorOS 12).

Camera

The OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G is apparently a better camera phone than its predecessor, but the difference is not big. It is equipped with a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2 MP macro camera. Further, it comes with a better front camera: despite both the phones offering a 32 MP front snapper, the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G has a superior Sony IMX709 providing a higher image quality.

Battery

The OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G and the Reno6 Pro 5G are equipped with exactly the same battery. It is a 4500 mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. You should not notice big differences in terms of battery life.

You need less than Rs. 40,000 / $535 to purchase the Reno6 Pro 5G in India, and it is available with even more affordable street prices, while the Reno7 Pro 5G starts from Rs. 40,000. It is not worth switching from the old model to the new one because the upgrades are just marginal, but the Reno7 Pro 5G wins the comparison thanks to its better cameras and chipset.

The OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G is powered by the Dimensity 1200 Max chipset by MediaTek: an upgraded version of the Dimensity 1200. The OnePlus 9RT gets a Snapdragon 888 by Qualcomm (not the Plus variant, despite the phone being released in the second half of 2021). Despite being an upgrade of the Dimensity 1200, the newer Dimensity 1200 Max is still inferior to the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform in terms of CPU and GPU performance. And given that both the phones get the same memory configuration (up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage), the OnePlus 9RT wins the hardware comparison. The software of these two devices is the same on the Chinese market, but it differs in the global market: ColorOS 12 and OxygenOS 12, respectively.

Camera

If you are looking for better rear cameras, then you should go for the OnePlus 9RT without thinking twice. It has a 50 MP Sony IMX766 main sensor with OIS, a 16 MP ultrawide camera, and a 2 MP macro sensor. The OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G sports a 50 MP camera without OIS, an inferior 8 MP ultrawide camera, and a 2 MP macro camera, but it has a superior front camera: the Sony IMX709 sensor with a 32 MP resolution.

OPPO’s Reno family is known for its attractive and unique design paired with capable cameras. And today, a brand new Reno series has made its way into India. Considering its previous offerings, the expectations for the latest models are high.

We recently managed to get our hands on the Reno7 Pro 5G, which is the higher end model in the series and is positioned just below the company’s flagship entries. This is also the same smartphone that launched in China back in December 2021. And now, here’s the OPPO Reno7 Pro review based on my first-hand experience with the device, so let’s see if the phone is worth its price.

OPPO Reno7 Pro Review: Design

Similar to the iPhone, the Reno7 Pro 5G features a flat rear panel, with absolutely no curves, save for the corners. Coming from a device with a curved back, it took some time for me to get used to the Reno7 Pro initially. But I have to add that it wasn’t unwieldy in any manner. The handset felt great in the hand, although I was worried about dropping it since it was quite slim (measuring just 7.45mm).

The device’s sharp edges did not dig into my hands either. So holding on to it for long periods of time wasn’t uncomfortable. This was further complemented by its 180g weight that is lighter than many modern day high-end smartphones. However, it’s a tall phone and one-handed use wasn’t easy with my average sized hand. The Reno7 Pro also features stereo speakers situated at the bottom. It is loud and clear, but I found that the audio quality takes a dip at the peak volume.

Talking about the looks, OPPO undoubtedly placed an emphasis on the design of the smartphone. The rear features a Panda Glass panel (alkali-aluminosilicate sheet glass) that has a total of 1.2 million micro etchings that create the illusion of thousands of stars (company calls it the OPPO Glow). So under direct light, the rear panel of the Reno7 Pro glitters bright. This is even more prominent under direct sunlight. In all honesty, this is a bit of a hit or miss design. The device features a solid build with metallic frames and premium finish, but the glittering rear panel seems to take away from its elegance overall (I had the Starlight Black variant). However, this is more of a personal preference than an objective standpoint and others might like this design quite a bit.

A nitpick that I do have for the device’s design is the tall camera bump. I have never liked the fact that my smartphone can’t rest flat on its back, ever since camera bumps became prevalent. But this time around, I’m willing to accept the bump for one reason alone, the ring light. Remember how smartphones used to offer LED notification light a few years ago, well, it has made a reappearance with the Reno7 Pro.

The camera’s tall bump also houses an LED light that surrounds the entire module. I found it to be quite handy since I usually placed the Reno7 Pro on its display. The camera module itself also has a dual tone design. The upper half with the primary sensor is raised higher, while the lower half is shorter but features a mirror finish on the metallic surface.

Display

The OPPO Reno7 Pro sports a 6.55 inch AMOLED display with a FHD+ resolution (2400x1080px). This screen offers 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling, 20:9 aspect ratio and a high screen to body ratio of 92.8 percent. While the display isn’t exactly the best on paper, it isn’t lacking by any means and even offers HDR10+ support.

However, there were a couple of issues I had with the screen. The Reno7 Pro did not perform great under direct sunlight (despite having a 920 nits peak brightness, I tried auto and manual adjustments). Also, 120Hz refresh rate would’ve been appreciated. But it still did well overall, with media consumption and gaming also being a delightful experience. While the side bezels are the narrowest its ever been on a Reno phone, there is a noticeable chin at the bottom. The top left corner of the display also houses a punch hole selfie camera, which didn’t bother me while watching movies or playing games.

Software

Arriving at the software side of the device, the Reno7 Pro runs on the Android 11 OS based ColorOS 12 out of the box. Apart from its premium build, the software was also one of its stronger suits. OPPO has come a long way with its ColorOS custom skin, with the latest iteration offering a great user experience and solid stability. I did not encounter any kind of lags, glitches, or bugs so far, and the Chinese smartphone brand also offers multiple customization options.

As for ways to personalize your Reno phone, ColorOS 12 lets you customize icons, wallpapers, fingerprint scanner animation, and my personal favorite, the Always On Display in various different ways. You’re also offered a number of themes as well. Unfortunately, while ColorOS has a solid user experience, it is still packed with bloatware. Luckily, most of these are removable, so you’re not completely helpless in this regard.

Gaming & Benchmark

Under the hood, the Reno7 Pro features a new MediaTek chipset, the Dimensity 1200 MAX chipset. As the name suggests, the Dimensity 1200 MAX is an upgraded version of the Dimensity 1200, which was featured in the Reno6 Pro. However, it is not a simple overclocked variant, rather, the MAX version offers enhancements for the display and imaging capabilities. Additionally, the model I tested housed 256GB of internal storage and 12GB of RAM, which can be virtually expanded by up to 7GB.

I ran the Reno7 Pro through a couple of benchmarks, including the 3DMark, Geekbench 5, and AnTuTu. For games, I ran Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) on the smartphone, since it’s one of the most popular titles in the Indian market. Talking about the benchmarks first, the device scored an average of around 808 in Geekbench 5’s single core test, and around the 2900 mark in the mutli core test. This puts it close to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, which was also reflected in our other benchmarks as well. In 3DMark, the device hit a score just under 4,300 in the Wild Life test, while its AnTuTu results were within the 630,000 and 650,000 range in the tests.

In BGMI, I ran the game in either “Smooth + Extreme” settings or the “Ultra + HDR” pairing to test the different ends of the graphical settings. As expected, the former offered a much smoother gameplay experience and is likely a better option for those looking for a competitive edge, but with HDR enabled, the graphical fidelity was better, but at the cost of framerate. However, I didn’t experience any major stutters or lags in either of the settings. Between the benchmarks and gaming tests, the Reno7 Pro also managed to remain cool, with the back panel only becoming slightly warm after playing a couple of matches on BGMI. Notably, OPPO is also offering a dedicated gaming mode to further enhance your gaming experience, despite the device not being a ‘gaming smartphone’.

Battery & Charging

The Reno7 Pro 5G is powered by a 4,500mAh battery pack with 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging. As per the company’s official claims, the device can be charged to 100 percent in just 31 minutes. During my OPPO Reno7 Pro review, I found the claim to be accurate. When I first got the device, I charged it to full to see how long it would last without having to charge it again. I used the Reno7 Pro for social media, light gaming, and an unhealthy amount of Netflix series and movies (its 20:9 aspect ratio and HDR enabled screen really spoiled me).

The device lasted just under 2 days in a single full charge and was topped up in a little over 30 minutes. So, with moderate use, the Reno7 Pro would likely last for around 1.5 days. But depending on your usage, it might last even longer. But expect the battery life to take a hit if you game on your smartphone often or watch a lot of movies as well.

Camera

The OPPO Reno7 Pro features a triple camera setup on the rear, consisting of a 50 megapixel primary camera, 8 megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, and a 2 megapixel macro sensor on the rear. Meanwhile, the front features a 32 megapixel punch hole selfie shooter. The camera app is also jam packed with different modes and features, with most of them being actually useful and fun to play around with. This also includes various beauty filters and retouching options. Being marketed as a camera phone, the device is capable, but with a few flaws. To put it simply, OPPO is offering powerful tools for a great photography experience, but you’ll need to tinker with the camera a bit to figure out the most optimal settings.

Primary

In ideal conditions, the smartphone’s main 50 megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor captured images with a good amount of detail and fairly accurate colors. HDR worked well in most scenarios too, offering better colors while highlighting the shadows as well. However, when HDR was enabled, the camera was prone to overexpose the image and the colors seemed artificial when shooting in scenes with a lot of light.

The main camera also offers the usual night mode that helps in taking better images in low light scenes. Looking at the scene in the park, we can observe that the image with night mode enabled offers better exposure and much better color reproduction. Unfortunately, it didn’t work as intended 100 percent of the time, but when it did, the results were quite good.

For the Reno7 series, the company had heavily marketed its portrait mode. This is available on both front and rear cameras. The bokeh effect on this mode is quite solid, with great edge detection. However, it did face some issues in differentiating between the background and the subject when there was a lack of proper lighting. OPPO even offers users the option to adjust the blur in this mode as well.

Ultra Wide Angle

Arriving at the wide angle lens, it is an 8 megapixel camera that offers a 119˚ field of view. In broad daylight, the wide angle lens was capable of capturing a wider image than the primary sensor, but lacked the same level of detail. Its performance takes an even greater hit during low light scenarios.

Furthermore, the wide angle lenses also support HDR like the main camera. However, it also suffers from the same exposure and color reproduction issue as the primary sensor in well lit scenes. You can also shoot videos from the wide angle camera, but they aren’t great to be honest, with visible noise even in daylight.

Macro

Unfortunately, the Reno7 Pro still, disappointingly, offers a 2 megapixel lens. This implies that the camera outputs low quality images. Having this sensor does offer more options, but shooting close-ups from the primary lens is often times better, since this sensor also had trouble focusing properly on the subject as well.

Selfie Camera

One of the highlighting features of the Reno7 Pro is its front facing camera. The device is the first in the world to feature the Sony IMX709 sensor, which OPPO claims offers a great selfie experience. This sensor is exclusive to the brand and I found it to be capable in my tests. Looking at the selfie shots, the colors were natural in most scenarios.

But in low light scenes, the phone cranks up the ISO a bit too high at times. This makes the image seem unnaturally bright, with visible noise in the image. However, in proper lighting, the selfies retain good details with the images appearing natural. A handy feature offered in the camera app is the wide view mode that broadens the FOV. In other words, it makes it easier for you and your buddies to fit in the frame for a group selfie.

Verdict

For a price tag of 39,999 INR (roughly 535 US Dollars), there are a number of great alternatives from rival brands that the Reno7 Pro will have to compete against in the Indian market. This includes the likes of the OnePlus 9R (Snapdragon 870), Xiaomi 11T Pro (Snapdragon 888), and the Motorola Edge 20 Pro (Snapdragon 870). The processors on these devices are faster than the Dimensity 1200 MAX on the Reno7 Pro. So, even if the device offers a smooth gaming experience, choosing one of the aforementioned models might be better for mobile gamers.

But, performance isn’t everything and there are a number of other factors to consider. OPPO’s latest entry features a high-end premium build quality, solid software, capable cameras, and a unique design, with the ring LED lights being an added bonus. This makes it a worthwhile consideration for those that do not game on their smartphones, since the Dimensity 1200 MAX is more than capable of handling day to day tasks with ease.

So while I may not recommend this model to people who want the latest and the greatest, the Reno7 Pro might be suited for those looking for a premium experience without breaking the bank for a full-fledged flagship.

OPPO Reno7 5G Specifications and Features

The OPPO Reno7 5G is built around a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

The phone houses a triple camera setup on the rear comprising of a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide unit, and a 2MP macro snapper. On the front, it nests a 32MP selfie shooter inside the punch-hole at the top left corner.

The device features the trademark ‘Reno Glow’ design, however, it lacks the flat frame found on its predecessor OPPO Reno6 5G as well as the bigger sibling OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G. It measures 7.81mm in thickness, weighs 173g, and comes in two colors (Startrails Blue, Starlight Black).

Finally, the handset runs ColorOS 12 based on Android 11 and it draws energy from a 4,500mAh battery, which supports 65W SuperVOOC fast charging.

The OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G also sports the ‘Reno Glow’ design. But it not only has a flat metal frame but also an ‘Orbit Breathing Ligt’ around the rear camera island for notifications.

The phone flaunts a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with an in-screen fingerprint sensor and a 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200-MAX chipset coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

For photography and videography, the handset arrives with a triple camera system on the rear and a 32MP Sony IMX709 selfie camera on the front. The rear setup includes a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, a 2MP macro snapper, and a color temperature sensor.

Despite measuring only 7.45mm in thickness, the smartphone houses a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W SuperVOOC fast charging. It weighs 180g and can be availed in two colors (Startrails Blue, Starlight Black).

OPPO is gearing up to launch the Reno7 series smartphones in the Indian market on 4th February and as the official launch date for the devices nears, more details about the smartphones are surfacing online.

Unlike the OPPO Reno7 series already launched in the Chinese market, some models of this lineup in the Indian market will come with a different set of specifications. However, the OPPO Reno7 Pro will remain the same, as confirmed by the company in a press release.

OPPO confirms that the Reno7 Pro will come powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 MAX processor. As the name indicates, it is an enhanced version of the Dimensity 1200 and the Chinese company says that it collaborated with MediaTek to customize it for offering better display and imaging capabilities.

The smartphone features a 6.55-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display which is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It comes packed with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, as well as support for 7GB of virtual RAM.

The device was previously rumored to cost around ₹41,000-₹43,000. But now, it is being tipped to retail at ₹39,990 for the single 12GB + 256GB memory version.

OPPO is all set to launch the Reno7 series on February 4th. And ahead of the big day, with a new press release, the company has discussed the proprietary OPPO Glow design featured on the Reno7 Pro and Reno7 that incorporates aircraft-grade Laser Direct Imaging (LDI) tech.

The design technology allows the glass back cover of the lineup to achieve both matte texture and a shiny appearance at the same time, something that OPPO has described as being ‘paradoxical.’ Aside from aesthetics, OPPO Glow enhances usability too with its fingerprint and stain-resistance properties.

“The newer LDI technology, which till now has been used to design PCBs in the aviation industry, has been repurposed to etch fine textures—as small as 20 microns in size—onto the photoresist-coated AG glass back cover of the Reno7 series,” the PR details.

Each device’s back features a total of 1.2 million micro-etchings that create a starry illusion, complete with long tails of light.

Durability has also been paid special attention to and the Reno7 Pro comes with a lightweight but durable aluminum frame with a flat-edged design.

Another major highlight of the device is its 2.5D, 6.55-inch OLED screen that’s surrounded by the narrowest bezels ever in the history of Reno. As a result, the Reno7 Pro comes with an eye-watering 92.8% screen-to-body ratio. It is also the slimmest Reno ever and weighs just 180gm.

But perhaps the best bit is the Twin Moon Camera design at the rear with its upper half made of metal and its lower with a ceramic coating. The Reno7 Pro also uses first-of-its-kind 3D “breathing” lights around the camera module. OPPO says that a 1mm diameter fibre is bent to the camera area, programmed to emit soft, pulsating lights whenever a call or notification arrives.

Last year, Oppo officially launched the Reno7 series in China. And now, the series is set to arrive in India but the launch date for the series is unknown. However, today, a tipster has revealed that the series could be unveiled in India on February 4. Additionally, Oppo’s micro-site for the Reno7 hints at the same.

According to the tipster Paras Guglani, the Oppo Reno7 series will launch on February 4 in India. The company is said to launch both the Reno7 and Reno7 Pro in India in the mid-range segment. In addition to this, the landing page for the Reno7 phones on the Oppo India website has an ongoing ‘Early Bird’, sort of a lucky draw. This lucky draw will end on February 4, which again, hints at a February 4 launch.

Although these are just speculations and rumors, we can expect the phone to launch on either February 4 or February 5 in India. Also, those who participate in the lucky draw activity will be able to get the phone from the store starting from February 5(via).

Guglani reveals that the normal sale would begin from February 8 in India.

Coming to the specs, the Oppo Reno7 series is expected to have a similar specs sheet as the variants launched in China. The Reno7 will feature a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate, while the Reno7 Pro is expected to feature a 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with the same 90Hz refresh rate.

The vanilla model will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G, whereas, the Pro will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. Both phones are expected to have a 32MPselfie snapper. At the rear, the vanilla will have a 64MP triple camera system and there will be a 50MP triple camera setup on the Pro model.

Oppo has officially confirmed that the Reno7 series will be launching in India soon. The lineup was first launched in China last year and included the Reno7 5G, Reno7 Pro 5G, and Reno7 SE 5G.

The Chinese smartphone maker shared the news on Twitter, and even confirmed its availability via the popular e-retailer, Flipkart. Looking at its listing on this platform, we can observe that the brand teases some of the upcoming series’ features. This includes the “World’s first Sony IMX709 Ultra Sensing Sensor” for the 32 megapixel selfie shooter. Similarly, the rear features a “Flagship Sony IMX766 Sensor,” which is a 1/1.56 inch 50 megapixel camera.

In other words, the Reno7 lineup that is launching in India is likely identical to the one launched in China last year. The tweet also labels the upcoming devices as the “Portrait Expert” and “The Most Advanced Reno Camera System Ever.” Unfortunately, Oppo refrained from revealing any other finer details like launch date or pricing and availability as of right now. Although, previous reports do hint at its possible pricing.

Reportedly, the Reno7 will be priced somewhere between 28,000 INR and 31,000 INR (roughly 376 to 416 US Dollars) while the Pro variant might be launched for around 41,000 INR to 43,000 INR (roughly 550 to 580 US Dollars). Keep in mind that this is still an unconfirmed report so take it with a pinch of salt for now, and stay tuned for more updates.

The OPPO Reno7 series was tipped to launch in January in India. Now, as we have entered the said month, more details about the phone’s release in the country have emerged. Let’s check out what the new information has to say.

According to Mukul Sharma (via MySmartPrice), the OPPO Reno7 series will launch in India either at the end of January or early February. Only two models are expected, namely OPPO Reno7 and OPPO Reno7 Pro.

Apart from revealing a possible launch timeline, the tech influencer has also shared a promotional poster of the series for India. The screenshot of the OPPO Store app showcases the OPPO Reno7 Pro but doesn’t mention its name.

Going by a previous report, the OPPO Reno7 will cost between ₹28,000 and ₹31,000 in India. On the other hand, the OPPO Reno7 Pro will retail around  ₹41,000-₹43,000.

This means the handsets could be costlier than their predecessors. For the unaware, the OPPO Reno6 and the OPPO Reno6 Pro debuted at ₹29,990 and ₹39,990 respectively in India.

Anyway, we think that the smartphones will probably cost the same as their forerunners, however, we could be wrong. That’s because the newer models come with a revamped design and some changes in specs. Hence, a price bump is possible.

OPPO recently launched its Reno7 series smartphones in China and is now expected to release them in other regions. The phones are expected to get launched in the Indian market in January 2022.

In the latest development, tipster Mukul Sharma has shared that the OPPO Reno7 smartphone has been spotted on the BIS certification website for the Indian market and IMDA certification for Singapore.

As the device has now passed through the certification process, it is safe to assume that the official launch of the smartphone isn’t far away. In fact, we expect the launch to take place in a couple of weeks.

Coming to the specs, the OPPO Reno7 features a 6.43-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset and comes with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

There’s a 64MP primary camera sensor on the back, coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro lens. On the front side, it features a 32MP snapper for taking selfies and video calling. The phone packs a 4,500mAh battery with fast charging support.

On the other hand, the OPPO Reno7 Pro features a 6.55-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. Under the hood, this one is powered by MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 1200-Max chipset. It packs a 4,500mAh battery and supports 65W fast charging.

There’s also an ultra-dense graphite sheet paired with superconducting vacuum VC liquid cooling to keep the phone’s temperature in check. The phone also features an X-axis linear motor and dual stereo speakers.

In the camera department, there’s a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, joined by an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front side, the device comes with a 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor for taking selfies and video calling.

OPPO debuted the OPPO Reno7 series in China at the end of November. Just like the previous Reno models, the newer ones are also expected to release in other markets. Ahead of that, the devices have been receiving necessary certifications. The OPPO Reno7 Pro has been now also listed on Google Play Console before its international release.

The Google Play Console listing of OPPO Reno7 Pro does not reveal anything new about the handset. This is obvious as the smartphone is already official in China. But it indicates that the phone is now ready for its global launch.

The OPPO Reno7 Pro is the successor of the OPPO Reno6 Pro. The latest model arrives with a new design, which also includes a notification light around the rear camera module. It ditches the curved display for the iPhone-like flat frame.

As far as specs are concerned, the OPPO Reno7 Pro comes with a 6.55-inch 90Hz OLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 1200-Max chipset, up to 12GB RAM/256GB storage, 50MP (Sony IMX766 sensor, wide) + 8MP (ultra-wide) + 2MP (macro) triple rear camera setup, and 32MP Sony IMX709 selfie camera.

Other features include dual stereo speakers, graphite sheet + VC liquid cooling system, X-axis linear motor, ColorOS 12 based on Android 11, 4,500mAh battery, 65W fast charging, 7.45mm thickness, and 180g weight.

The OPPO Reno7 Pro will reportedly cost between ₹41,000 and ₹43,000 in India.

Further, it is thinner, lighter, and even more compact than Motorola Moto G200 5G. And how not to mention the LED ring around the camera module? You can use it to realize when you have a new notification and even for other features. The OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G is definitely one of the most attractive flagship killers when it comes to design.

Display

Besides providing a more elegant design, the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G also comes with a more advanced display than Motorola Moto G200 5G. It is an AMOLED panel with a 90 Hz refresh rate, the HDR10+ certification, and a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The diagonal is smaller (6.55 inches vs 6.8 inches), but the image quality is higher. The OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G also comes with stereo speakers, unlike the Motorola Moto G200 5G. But if you are a gamer, you might actually prefer the Motorola Moto G200 5G: it has a disappointing LCD panel (disappointing for a flagship, but not for a mid-ranger), but it comes with a very high refresh rate (up to 144 Hz) providing a smoother experience in gaming sessions.

Specs & Software

If you are looking for the highest performance, you should go for the Motorola Moto G200 5G. It is equipped with a higher-end processor: the Snapdragon 888+ that is an upgrade of the Snapdragon 888 and provides amazing CPU and GPU performance. Currently, the Snapdragon 888+ loses only to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. However, the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G is all but disappointing in terms of performance, thanks to the great MediaTek Dimensity 1200-Max mobile platform paired with up to 12 GB of RAM. Both the phones run Android 11, but the OPPO Reno 7 Pro 5G has ColorOS 12 on top.

Camera

The OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G is able to provide a better camera performance thanks to its superior main camera: a Sony IMX766 sensor with a resolution of 50 MP and OIS support. Further, it has a better front camera: the new custom Sony IMX709 sensor with a resolution of 32 MP. The OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G beats the Motorola Moto G200 5G under every aspect if we talk about the cameras, even though it is not one of the best camera phones out there.

Battery

The Motorola Moto G200 5G is equipped with a bigger battery sporting a capacity of 5000 mAh, but it does not always provide the longest battery life. If you use the 144 Hz refresh rate with its LCD display, the energy consumption will be higher. But in a lot of scenarios, you can get a longer battery life with the Moto G200. The Reno7 Pro 5G provides faster 65W charging.

Price

The starting price of the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G for the Chinese market is €520, while the Motorola Moto G200 5G starts from €450. Unless you are a gamer, the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G is actually a superior phone due to its better design, display, cameras, and faster charging technology. The Moto G200 is a better option only for gamers due to its stronger processor, 144 Hz refresh rate, and big battery.

A couple of days ago, Chinese manufacturer OPPO had launched a new limited edition variant of its Reno7 Pro in its home country, dubbed OPPO Reno7 Pro League of Legends Mobile Game Limited Edition.

Today, that limited edition smartphone is available for purchase in China for the price of 3,999 yuan which roughly converts to $628. The company will be selling the first batch of around 10,000 units in today’s sale.

The OPPO Reno7 Pro League of Legends Mobile Game Limited Edition comes with some new design elements. It has a “soft shadow crystal technology,” a cyan-purple gradient border, an ‘L’ denoting League of Legends, and a cyan-accented camera module.

The phone also comes with several customized accessories, including a mobile phone case, charger, graffiti stickers, mobile phone pendants, and more, along with a special box design. Even the pin for the SIM card tray comes in a fancy bullet design, inspired by the League of Legends character Jinx’s necklace.

The company has also customized the phone’s software ColorOS 12 to match the League of Legends, which could be the deepest customization in OPPO’s history. There are custom icons, wallpapers, system UI colors, app backgrounds, and much more.

In terms of specifications, the phone has the same set of specs as the original model. It features a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200-Max chipset with up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

A new OPPO product launch event was held yesterday night, announcing the all-new OPPO Reno7 Pro League of Legends Mobile Game Limited Edition along with a similar-themed 50W ultra-thin ‘biscuit’ charger.

OPPO Reno7 Pro League of Legends edition

The special edition phone comes with a number of new design features over the already-stunning vanilla OPPO Reno7 Pro, making it look more attractive than ever. The back of the phone now comes with a “soft shadow crystal technology,” a cyan-purple gradient border, an ‘L’ denoting League of Legends, and finally a cyan-accented camera module. Of course, the breathing notification light around the cameras is still present to top it all.

But that’s not all as the OPPO Reno7 Pro LoL edition also comes with a number of accessories, starting with a special box design to provide an amazing unboxing experience. Even the pin for the SIM card tray hasn’t been left untouched as it now comes in a fancy bullet design, inspired by LoL character Jinx’s necklace.

The box also stows away other themed accessories including a mobile phone case, charger, graffiti stickers, mobile phone pendants, and so on.

It’s not just the hardware bits that have received a League of Legends makeover as the software has also been treated similarly. The entirety of ColorOS 12 has been customized to match LoL, with some calling it the deepest customization in OPPO’s history. Other than this, the OPPO Reno7 Pro League of Legends Mobile Game Limited Edition is identical to the vanilla version in terms of specifications. There’s the MediaTek Dimensity 1200-Max chipset, 90Hz 6.55-inch OLED screen, and 4500mAh battery with support for 65W charging

Only 10,000 units of the device will be sold and each has been priced at 3,999 Yuan (~$472). All of them will only be sold in China and there hasn’t been any indication yet of a global launch.

OPPO League of Legends edition 50W mini Super VOOC charger

Moving on to the OPPO 50W League of Legends Mobile Game Limited Edition Ultra-thin Super Flash Charger, it is a LoL makeover of the OPPO 50W mini Super VOOC charger released late last year. The charger sports a ‘biscuit’ design that’s extremely slim and fairly compact and light when compared to other high-power chargers. Its pins can be even be folded to make it easier to carry around.

The LoL edition charger now sports an all-black color and comes with an X-shaped protective case with “JINX” etched on it. Its data cable can be folded, stringed to the charger, and used as a lanyard. It costs 399 Yuan or around $63.

The charger isn’t just a breakthrough in terms of design alone, however, as it also comes packed with technology. OPPO says that charging using it should result in greater battery longevity and lower temperatures.

It will be officially launched on December 7th at 08:00 PM local time and there will be a few other products as well. The device has also been recommended for the 2021 League of Legends Mobile Games Professional Qualification National Tournament.

The company has also revealed that the players and official commentators of the league will also make an appearance at the launch press conference, including uzi (Jane Pride), Guan Zeyuan, and more.

We expect the smartphone to come with a similar design but with some League of Legends Mobile Game branded design elements on the device as well as the in-box accessories along with a branded retail box.

Earlier today (3rd December 2021), the Oppo Reno7 series went on sale in its home market of China. The lineup saw an explosive success in the region, with its first sales bringing in a whopping 100 million Yuan (roughly 15 million US Dollars) in just a matter of minutes.

With the first sale seeing great results, the smartphone maker even shared this achievement on its official Weibo account (a Chinese microblogging website) via an image poster. The Reno7 series, including the vanilla and Pro model, brought in over 15 million US Dollars in sale in just 15 minutes. This is quite impressive considering the Reno7 starts from 2,699 Yuan (roughly 420 US Dollars) and the Reno7 Pro starts from 3,699 Yuan (roughly 580 US Dollars).

Talking about the smartphones itself, both handsets feature an AMOLED display, with the Pro model sporting a slightly larger panel. Under the hood, the base version houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor while the Pro variant arrives with the MediaTek Dimenisty 1200 Max chipset. There are not very important differences between the displays of these phones, but the OPPO Reno7 Pro provides the best specifications on paper. The display of the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G is not only wider, but it even provides a better image quality thanks to the HDR10+ certification enhancing the experience on streaming platforms. Further, it has a higher peak brightness with up to 920 nits. All the phones from the OPPO Reno7 series have an AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution, an in-display fingerprint reader, and a 90 Hz refresh rate, but the panels of the OPPO Reno7 and the Reno 7 SE are smaller with a diagonal of 6.43 inches.

Specs & Software

As already mentioned above, OPPO Reno7 and Reno7 SE are midrange phones, while the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G has flagship-class hardware. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 Max mobile platform, which is an upgraded version of the DImensity 1200 providing higher performance. The SoC is paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Between the OPPO Reno7 and the Reno7 SE, the former is more powerful thanks to its Snapdragon 778G mobile platform, and, unlike the latter, it offers up to 12 GB of RAM just like the Pro sibling. All the phones run ColorOS 12 out of the box, but it is still based on Android 11.

Camera

The only device from this series providing a high-end camera experience is the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G. It is far from flagship camera phones, but it comes with a great Sony IMX766 main camera sporting a 50 MP resolution and OIS. Unfortunately, the secondary sensors are not good enough for high-end phones, so you won’t get so much versatility. The OPPO Reno7 5G comes right after with a 64 MP triple camera.

Battery

All of these phones are equipped with a 4500 mAh battery, but the OPPO Reno7 should be the one with the longest battery life because it has a smaller display than OPPO Reno7 Pro and a better production process than OPPO Reno7 SE. The OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G has the fastest charging tech with a power of 65W.

Price

OPPO Reno7 has a €380/$430 starting price, Reno7 Pro starts from €520/$589, and Reno7 SE begins at €310/$351. Each device has its pro and cons with the Reno7 being very close to the Pro variant if we exclude hardware and camera. Which one would you pick?

OPPO held a product launch event today for multiple products including the Reno7 series, new additions to the Enco earbuds lineup, and even a smart TV. But the star of the show was obviously the Reno7 series, which has seen much hype over the past week thanks to quite a few leaks and teasers. The suspense has now been put to rest with the launch, as all details about the OPPO Reno7, Reno7 Pro, and Reno7 SE are out in the open.

First and foremost, the OPPO Reno7 series brings a refreshed design but retains the overall boxy rectangular build that was first introduced to the series with the Reno6. However, the bezels this year have been reduced significantly, so much so that the Pro variant sports a screen-to-body ratio of 92.8%.

The back panel of the series has seen upgrades too. An “aerospace-grade lithography technology” has been applied to the rear to create a fine grating texture and a meteor shower-like visual appearance.

And lastly, the Reno7 Pro comes with the much-talked-about notification light around the cameras, which quite frankly, has to be the best use of a protruding camera module. It lights up in a breathing manner for incoming calls, incoming messages, charging, and even for games.

This isn’t all the phones have to offer though, and we have listed all of their specs below.

OPPO Reno7 Pro

The OPPO Reno7 Pro is obviously the priciest among the bunch and is powered by MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 1200-Max chip. It comes with an FHD+ 6.55-in OLED screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The battery of the device is sized 4500mAh which can be quickly filled up at 65W. The phone comes with a star-ring breathing light, measures 158.2 x 73.2 x 7.45mm, and weighs just 180g. To keep heat under control, there’s an ultra-dense graphite sheet paired with superconducting vacuum VC liquid cooling. The phone also features an X-axis linear motor and dual stereo speakers.

But perhaps the greatest highlight of the device are the cameras. A flagship-level 50MP f/1.8 Sony IMX766 sensor has been used for the primary lens which OPPO says has ‘omnidirectional focusing’. It is joined by 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro cameras.

On the front, the OPPO Reno7 Pro debuts the 32MP IMX709 sensor – a “super-sensitive cat-eye lens jointly developed with Sony.” This one comes with multiple advanced features and should offer better low-light performance while greatly reducing noise.

OPPO Reno7

The OPPO Reno7 is powered by the Snapdragon 778G mobile platform and offers 8+128/8+256/12+256 RAM and storage variants. It has an FHD+ 6.43-in OLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. Its front camera uses the 32MP IMX709 (f/2.4, RGBW) sensor as well, while the back is made up of a 64MP main camera (f/1.7) + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro lens setup. The phone packs a 4500mAh battery, weighs 185g, and measures 156.8 x 72.1 x 7.59mm. Like the Pro, it also comes with advanced heat dissipation features.

OPPO Reno7 SE

The OPPO Reno7 SE is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chip and uses a 90Hz 6.43-inch OLED screen. Its rear camera module comprises 48MP (IMX581) primary + 2MP macro + 2MP portrait sensors. The device measures 160.2 x 73.2 x 7.45mm and weighs 171g.

Following is its pricing:

• 8GB+128GB – 2199 Yuan (~$344)
• 8GB+256GB – 2399 Yuan (~$375)

The Reno7 series boots into ColorOS 12 based on Android 11. The three devices have only been launched in China as of now but a global release shouldn’t be too far off.

OPPO has been working on its next-generation Reno-series smartphones, which have been leaked quite a few times in the past. Now, the Chinese company has officially confirmed that the Reno7 series smartphones will be launched in China on 25th November.

Unlike its predecessors, there won’t be a Pro+ model which seems to have been replaced by the Reno7 SE. If this turns out to be true, then we will be getting the Reno7 SE, Reno7, and Reno7 Pro smartphones later this week.

Based on the leaks and rumors so far, the Reno7 SE is expected to feature a 6.43-inch E3 AMOLED Full-HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is said to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset, coupled with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM, 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

It will have a triple-camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B primary sensor, an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 sensor, and a 2-megapixel portrait lens. On the front side, there will be a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 snapper. The device is said to be powered by a 4,300mAh battery with 65W fast charging support.

The OPPO Reno7 will be featuring a 6.5-inch OLED FHD+ 90Hz screen and pack MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200 chipset. It will also have 8/12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128/256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It will be powered by a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging.

In the camera department, the phone will have a triple-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor, a 16-megapixel Sony IMX481 ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel portrait lens. On the front side, the device features a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

On the other hand, the Reno7 Pro is said to have a 6.5-inch curved edge OLED display, offering Full HD+ screen resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected to come equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, 8/12 GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256/512 GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging.

In the photography department, it will feature a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615 front-facing snapper for taking selfies and video calling. The device will have a triple-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 sensor, a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B ultrawide lens, and a 13-megapixel Samsung S5K3M5 telephoto lens.

While the OPPO Reno7 series smartphones are getting launched in China this week, reports indicate that two models of the lineup — Reno7 and Reno7 Pro will get launched in the Indian market early next year, in the month of January.

After the live images of the OPPO Reno7 Pro were leaked on Weibo in a now-deleted post, more leaks have surfaced from an industry source about the upcoming launch.

The leaks stating a January launch of the OPPO Reno7 lineup were provided via 91mobiles. The leaker states that two models, the Reno7 and Reno7 Pro, will definitely launch in India in January, while no news has surfaced of the Reno7 Pro Plus or the Reno7 SE launch in the country. If the leaks turn out to be accurate, the Reno7 series can be expected to launch in China by December.

While we wait for more information on the smartphones, here are the leaked and rumored specs concerning the Reno7 and Reno7 pro.

OPPO Reno7 Pro rumored specs

Yesterday’s leak (11th November 2020) revealed live images of the OPPO Reno7 Pro’s which has a punch-hole cutout placed in the upper-left corner and the device also has an extremely thin chin. The tipster also revealed some key specs like a 90Hz display and Snapdragon 778G SoC which was in contrast to the previous rumors hinting at a Snapdragon 888.

OPPO Reno7 is rumored to sport a 6.5-inch FHD+ OLED display with 1,080 X 2,400 pixels resolution. The rumors also state that the smartphone may pack up to 12GB RAM, 256GB storage, and a 4500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support.

The Reno 7 Pro is said to get a triple camera setup on the back, with a 50MP primary sensor, a 16MP secondary lens, and a 13MP third sensor. It could have a 32MP lens on the front for selfies and video chats. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type-C.

OPPO Reno7 rumored specs

The vanilla Reno7 is expected to have similar features when it comes to the screen design and display panel, however, it is expected to house a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 or the Dimensity 900 under its hood. The ram and memory variants are also expected to be the same as the Reno7 Pro.

OPPO introduced the Pro+ model in the Reno lineup with the 5th generation. The first device was called OPPO Reno5 Pro+, which was later followed by OPPO Reno6 Pro+. Now, according to a reliable leaker, there may not be an OPPO Reno7 Pro+.

We have been hearing about the OPPO Reno7 series for the past few days from the same source – Digital Chat Station. The tipster now suggests that the 7th gen Reno family may not include a Pro+ model.

The leaker says that the prototypes of vanilla and Pro variants are much better than their predecessor. They have improvements in both display and camera departments.

Above all, he hasn’t heard about the Pro+ variant yet. Hence, he thinks that OPPO Reno7 Pro+ may not exist after all.

Anyway, we would advise you to consider this information with a pinch of salt. That’s because we are still days away from the launch of the OPPO Reno7 series.

OPPO is working on its next-generation Reno7 series smartphones which are expected to get launched in China next month. While not much is known about the upcoming phones, details have now started surfacing online.

After details about the camera sensor got leaked online, a new report now reveals the processors powering the upcoming phones. According to a Chinese tipster, the OPPO Reno7 series smartphones will come powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 920, Dimensity 1200, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipsets.

It is safe to assume that the standard OPPO Reno7 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset while the Pro model will come packed with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. The top-end model, Reno7 Pro+ will have Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and not the Snapdragon 888+ that we expected.

Apart from the chipsets powering the phones, nothing much is known about the devices. But we expect the top-end variant to come packed with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.

Recently, it was revealed that the OPPO Reno7 series will use large-sized camera sensors. and the report further says that the standard Reno7 will have a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor, which measures 1/1.56” in size.

OPPO Reno6 series has just made its way to some markets lately since its initial debut in China earlier this year. But it appears the company is already gearing up to launch the OPPO Reno7 series very soon. A popular leaker has now revealed some details about the upcoming lineup.

According to a now-deleted post by Digital Chat Station on Weibo, OPPO will be soon launching the OPPO Reno7 series in China. Its primary competitor will be the upcoming vivo S12 series. This means vivo will be skipping the S11 branding and jump to S12 from the current-gen S10.

That said, the tipster has only disclosed information about the vanilla OPPO Reno7. As per him, this smartphone will feature a similar front design as its predecessor OPPO Reno6. In other words, the flat display on it will have a punch-hole at the top left corner. Additionally, the bottom bezel will be thinner than the older model.

Further, he says that the phone will have a metal frame. It will house a triple camera setup on the rear and there will be improvements in their performance. Lastly, one of these cameras will sport an LED notification ring.

We expect to learn more about the OPPO Reno7 series in the coming days. The forthcoming handsets will likely use different chipsets like their predecessors.
