<p>If you&#8217;ve decided to buy a new smartphone, you&#8217;ve probably noticed that making a choice can be overwhelming. There are hundreds of models from dozens of brands, and often with only minor differences between them.</p>

<p>One key difference you might encounter is the SoC. For example, two similarly priced phones from the same brand might use different processors, one from MediaTek and the other from Qualcomm. </p>

<p>To help you narrow down the options, we&#8217;ve decided to compare two popular processors: MediaTek <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Dimensity-7050/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Dimensity 7050</a> vs Qualcomm <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-6-gen-1/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Snapdragon 6 Gen 1</a>. Here are the details.</p>

<h3><strong>MediaTek Dimensity 7050 vs Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 Differences and Specifications</strong></h3>

<p>When comparing the MediaTek <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Dimensity-7050/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Dimensity 7050</a> and Qualcomm <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-6-gen-1/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Snapdragon 6 Gen 1</a>, we find two similar processors with key distinctions. The Dimensity 7050 is built on a 5nm process, while the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 uses a more power-efficient 4nm process. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Dimensity-7050-vs-Snapdragon-6-Gen-1-1-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-619407" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Dimensity-7050-vs-Snapdragon-6-Gen-1-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Dimensity-7050-vs-Snapdragon-6-Gen-1-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Dimensity-7050-vs-Snapdragon-6-Gen-1-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Dimensity-7050-vs-Snapdragon-6-Gen-1-1-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Dimensity-7050-vs-Snapdragon-6-Gen-1-1-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Dimensity-7050-vs-Snapdragon-6-Gen-1-1-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Dimensity-7050-vs-Snapdragon-6-Gen-1-1.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>However, MediaTek offers advantages in other areas. It supports up to 16 GB of LPDDR4x RAM compared to Snapdragon&#8217;s 12 GB limit. Additionally, the Dimensity 7050 boasts a higher 144Hz screen refresh rate, exceeding the Snapdragon&#8217;s 120Hz.</p>

<p>Both offer smooth experiences for everyday tasks and moderate gaming. But the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 might have a slight edge in very demanding games.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-table"><table><tbody><tr><th>Specification</th><th>MediaTek Dimensity 7050</th><th>Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1</th></tr><tr><td><strong>Process Technology</strong></td><td>5nm TSMC</td><td>4nm Samsung</td></tr><tr><td><strong>CPU</strong></td><td>2x Cortex-A78 @ 2.8GHz &#8211; 6x Cortex-A55 @ 2.0GHz</td><td>4x Kryo Gold (Cortex-A78 derivative) @ 2.2GHz &#8211; 4x Kryo Silver (Cortex-A55 derivative) @ 1.8GHz</td></tr><tr><td><strong>GPU</strong></td><td>Arm Mali-G68 MC4</td><td>Adreno 710</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Max Display Resolution</strong></td><td>FHD+ (1080p) @ 144Hz</td><td>FHD+ (1080p) @ 120Hz</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Max Memory Support</strong></td><td>Up to 16 GB LPDDR4x</td><td>Up to 12 GB LPDDR5</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Image Signal Processor (ISP)</strong></td><td>Supports up to 200MP single camera or dual 26MP + 16MP</td><td>Spectra Triple 14-bit ISP, supports up to 108MP</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Video Features</strong></td><td>4K video recording @ 30fps</td><td>4K video recording @ 30fps</td></tr></tbody></table></figure>

<h3><strong>MediaTek Dimensity 7050 vs Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 Benchmark Performance</strong></h3>

<p>When comparing the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, benchmark tests offer valuable insights. Firstly, Geekbench 5 suggests a slight edge for the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, with AnTuTu also favoring Qualcomm. However, it&#8217;s crucial to remember that synthetic benchmarks don&#8217;t always reflect real-world performance. These results can vary depending on the specific phone in which the processor is used.</p>

<ul><li><strong>Geekbench 5 (Approximate):</strong><ul><li><strong>Dimensity 7050</strong><ul><li>Single-Core: Around 800-950</li><li>Multi-core: Around 2300-2500</li></ul></li><li><strong>Snapdragon 6 Gen 1</strong><ul><li>Single-Core: Around 900-1000</li><li>Multi-Core: Around 2800-3000</li></ul></li></ul></li><li><strong>AnTuTu v9 (Approximate):</strong><ul><li><strong>Dimensity 7050:</strong> Around 350,000 &#8211; 400,000</li><li><strong>Snapdragon 6 Gen 1:</strong> Around 400,000 &#8211; 450,000</li></ul></li></ul>

<p>After <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/09/23/mediatek-rebranded-dimensity-processor-lineup-2023/">MediaTek decided to rebrand its processor lineup in 2023</a>, it seems that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm/">Qualcomm</a> is hopping onto the rebranding bandwagon as well, because the recently-announced <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/09/15/snapdragon-7s-gen-2-launched/">Snapdragon 7s Gen 2</a> processor seems to be a secret rebrand of last year’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/09/07/qualcomm-unveils-snapdragon-6-gen-1-snapdragon-4-gen-1-5g-chipsets/">Snapdragon 6 Gen 1</a>, with the exact same GPU and CPU core structure, manufactured on the same 4nm Samsung process.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/snapdragon-7s-gen-2-6-gen-1-thumbnail.png?x10805" alt="snapdragon 7s gen 2, 6 gen 1 thumbnail" class="wp-image-569359" width="942" height="585" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/snapdragon-7s-gen-2-6-gen-1-thumbnail.png 942w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/snapdragon-7s-gen-2-6-gen-1-thumbnail-300x186.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/snapdragon-7s-gen-2-6-gen-1-thumbnail-768x477.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/snapdragon-7s-gen-2-6-gen-1-thumbnail-696x432.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/snapdragon-7s-gen-2-6-gen-1-thumbnail-676x420.png 676w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/snapdragon-7s-gen-2-6-gen-1-thumbnail-356x220.png 356w" sizes="(max-width: 942px) 100vw, 942px" /><figcaption>Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 vs 6 Gen 1 Thumbnail. (Source: Leo Wong De Quan/Gizmochina)</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>To illustrate the point, the table below shows a side-by-side of the general specifications between the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 vs. the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 Mobile Processor.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-table is-style-regular has-small-font-size"><table><tbody><tr><td></td><td><strong>Snapdragon 7s Gen 2</strong></td><td><strong>Snapdragon 6 Gen 1</strong></td></tr><tr><td>Launch Date</td><td>September 2023</td><td>September 2022</td></tr><tr><td>Performance CPU Cores</td><td>4x ARM Cortex A78 @ 2.4GHz</td><td>4x ARM Cortex A78 @ 2.2GHz</td></tr><tr><td>Efficiency CPU Cores</td><td>4x ARM Cortex A55 @ 1.95GHz</td><td>4x ARM Cortex A55 @ 1.8GHz</td></tr><tr><td>GPU</td><td>Adreno 710</td><td>Adreno 710</td></tr><tr><td>Modem</td><td>Snapdragon X62 5G Modem</td><td>Snapdragon X62 5G Modem</td></tr><tr><td>Connectivity</td><td>FastConnect 6700 Mobile Connectivity System</td><td>FastConnect 6700 Mobile Connectivity System</td></tr><tr><td>Memory Support</td><td>Max. LPDDR5 &#8211; 3200MHz</td><td>Max. LPDDR5 &#8211; 3200MHz</td></tr><tr><td>Manufacturing Process</td><td>Samsung 4nm</td><td>Samsung 4nm</td></tr><tr><td>Antutu Score</td><td>606,420</td><td>574,279</td></tr><tr><td>Smartphones Using the SoC</td><td><a href="https://www-gizmochina-com.webpkgcache.com/doc/-/s/www.gizmochina.com/2023/09/21/redmi-note-13-pro-launched/">Redmi Note 13 Pro</a></td><td><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-x50/">Honor X50</a>, Motorola G Stylus 2023</td></tr></tbody></table><figcaption><em>Comparison table between Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 vs 6 Gen 1. (Leo Wong De Quan/Gizmochina)</em></figcaption></figure>

<p> </p>

<p>Looking further into specs, we notice that both processors have an identical Adreno 710 GPU, an identical Qualcomm X62 5G/LTE modem, and the same connectivity standards support powered by the same Qualcomm FastConnect 6700 system. In addition, both are manufactured on Samsung’s 4nm semiconductor node process. Even the Antutu scores between the devices are eerily similar as well.</p>

<p>Yet one is being marketed as a Snapdragon 7 series chipset whereas the other is being marketed as a Snapdragon 6 series chipset by Qualcomm. In fact, the 2023 Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, should instead be called the Snapdragon 6+ Gen 1, because the new chipset only overclocks the CPU cores on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/09/07/qualcomm-unveils-snapdragon-6-gen-1-snapdragon-4-gen-1-5g-chipsets/">Snapdragon 6 Gen 1</a>, whilst everything from the GPU to even the connectivity standards (Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2) are the same as the 2022 Snapdragon 6 Gen 1.</p>

<p>When compared to the highly regarded <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/05/09/poco-f5-with-snapdragon-7-gen-2-f5-pro-with-snapdragon-8-gen-1-debut-in-india-and-other-global-markets/#:~:text=Both%20phones%20have%20optical%20and,vapor%20chamber%20for%20heat%20dissipation.">Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2</a> (with an Antutu score of 1,109,000) this year, it can be easily seen that the newly announced <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/09/15/snapdragon-7s-gen-2-launched/">Snapdragon 7s Gen 2</a> (with an Antutu score of around 600,000) seems to be a misleading chipset by Qualcomm to trick users into thinking the chipset has the same tier of performance as its other chipsets in the Snapdragon 7 series lineup like the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and 7+ Gen 2. When in reality, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 performs about the same as a Snapdragon 6 series launched in yesteryear.</p>

<h3><strong>iQOO Z8, iQOO Z8x specifications (rumored)</strong></h3>

<p>According to <em><a href="https://www.techgoing.com/iqoo-z8-z8x-specifications-leaked-heres-what-to-expect/">TechGoing’s</a> </em>report, the Chinese tipster <a href="https://weibo.com/3108827753/NfqnXwDTE?pagetype=homefeed">revealed</a> that the iQOO Z8 and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/vivo-iqoo-z8s">iQOO </a>Z8x will&nbsp;arrive with a 6.64-inch LCD panel that supports an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/08/21/iqoo-z8-full-specifications-leaked-before-september-launch/">FHD+ resolution</a> (2388 x 1080 pixels) and 120Hz refresh rate. Both phones will be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-8200">Dimensity 8200</a> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-6-gen-1">and Snapdragon 6 Gen 1</a> chip, respectively.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iqoo">iQOO</a> is reportedly planning to launch the iQOO Z8 and the iQOO Z8x smartphones in China. If rumors are to be believed, both devices may go official by the end of this month in the home market. A new Vivo smartphone bearing the V2312A model number emerged in Geekbench’s database but went unnoticed. According to several Chinese tipsters, the V2312A device will be called the iQOO Z8x when it debuts in the Chinese market.</p>

<h3><strong>iQOO Z8x Geekbench listing</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="713" height="825" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/iQOO-Z8x-Geekbench-.jpg?x10805" alt="iQOO Z8x Geekbench" class="wp-image-555885" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/iQOO-Z8x-Geekbench-.jpg 713w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/iQOO-Z8x-Geekbench--259x300.jpg 259w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/iQOO-Z8x-Geekbench--696x805.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/iQOO-Z8x-Geekbench--363x420.jpg 363w" sizes="(max-width: 713px) 100vw, 713px" /><figcaption>iQOO Z8x Geekbench listing</figcaption></figure></div>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/honor">Honor</a> is all set to announce the Honor X50 on July 5 in China. A Weibo user has shared a screenshot of the AnTuTu benchmark scores of the unannounced smartphone. Here is a look at how it performed on AnTuTu.</p>

<h3><strong>Honor X50 AnTuTu listing</strong></h3>

<p>In the CPU test of AnTuTu, the Honor X50, which features the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip (SM6450 part number), recorded a score of 1,74,760. In the GPU, memory, and UX tests, the device scored 138,731, 144,348, and 120,879 points, respectively. Hence, the X50 managed to record an impressive total score of 578,718.</p>

<p>To recall, the device scored 909 and 2726 in the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench, respectively. The benchmarking scores suggest that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-6-gen-1">Snapdragon 6 Gen 1</a> chip may offer better performance than the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-778G">Snapdragon 778G</a> SoC.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="536" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Honor-X50-poster--1024x536.jpg?x10805" alt="Honor X50 poster" class="wp-image-548456" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Honor-X50-poster--1024x536.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Honor-X50-poster--300x157.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Honor-X50-poster--768x402.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Honor-X50-poster--696x364.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Honor-X50-poster--1068x559.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Honor-X50-poster--803x420.jpg 803w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Honor-X50-poster-.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Honor X50 poster</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Other reports have revealed that the Honor X50 will feature a curved-edge display of 6.78 inches. The AMOLED display will offer a resolution of 2652 x 1200 pixels and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. It will run on the Magic UI 7.1-based Android 13 OS. It will feature an 8-megapixel front camera and a 108-megapixel (main) + 2-megapixel dual-camera system.</p>

<p>The X50 will feature up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. It will pack a 5,800mAh battery with 35W fast charging. It will measure 7.98mm in thickness and weigh 185 grams. <p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/honor">Honor</a> recently confirmed that it will announce the Honor X50, a mid-range phone, on July 5 in China. As the name implies, it will replace the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-x40">Honor X40</a> from last year. Reports have revealed that the Honor phone with model number ALI-AN00, which was approved by Chinese certifications such as 3C and TENAA recently, will debut under the name Honor X50 in China. Today, the brand rolled out a new poster to confirm the battery size of the phone.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="576" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-battery-576x1024.jpg?x10805" alt="Honor X50 battery" class="wp-image-547511" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-battery-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-battery-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-battery-768x1365.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-battery-864x1536.jpg 864w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-battery-1152x2048.jpg 1152w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-battery-696x1237.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-battery-1068x1899.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-battery-1920x3413.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-battery-236x420.jpg 236w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-battery-scaled.jpg 1440w" sizes="(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px" /><figcaption>Honor X50 battery</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The poster confirms that the Honor X50 will pack a 5,800mAh battery, which means it will offer 700mAh more battery juice than its predecessor, the Honor X40. While the brand is yet to confirm the fast charging capabilities of the phone, its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/06/02/honor-x50-launch-soon/">3C certification</a> revealed that it may support 35W fast charging. In comparison, it is slightly slower than the 40W charging capabilities of the predecessor model.</p>

<h2><strong>Honor X50 specifications (rumored)</strong></h2>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-x50">Honor X50’s</a> TENAA certification revealed that it will pack a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen that offers a 1.5K resolution and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Like the predecessor model, it will have a punch-hole screen with curved edges. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset will be the X50&#8217;s power source.</p>

<p>The Honor X50 will ship with up to 12 of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. It will run on Magic UI-based Android 13 OS. For photography, it will feature a 108-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual-camera system on the back and an 8-megapixel selfie camera.</p>

<p>In related news, Honor is reportedly planning to launch the Honor Magic V2 foldable phone soon after the X50. The foldable phone is expected to come in two variants, such as the Magic V2 with Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/06/27/honor-magic-v2-magic-v2-supreme-edition-miit-certified-ahead-of-july-launch/">Magic V2 Supreme Edition</a> with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, on July 12. The same event may see the arrival of a new flagship tablet from the brand.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/honor">Honor</a> has officially announced that the Honor X50 will be unveiled in China on July 5 at 7:30pm (local time). Along with the announcement, the company has released a poster showcasing the rear design of the smartphone. Considering the previous approval of the Honor ALI-AN00 model by China&#8217;s TENAA authority in May, it strongly suggests that the Honor X50 is likely to be the same device.</p>

<p>The below poster gives a first look at the rear design of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-x50/">Honor X50</a>, which will arrive as the successor to last year’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-x40">Honor X40</a>. Like the predecessor model, the X50 has a round camera island housing two cameras and an LED flash.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="576" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-launching-on-July-5-576x1024.jpg?x10805" alt="Honor X50 launching on July 5" class="wp-image-546837" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-launching-on-July-5-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-launching-on-July-5-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-launching-on-July-5-768x1365.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-launching-on-July-5-864x1536.jpg 864w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-launching-on-July-5-1152x2048.jpg 1152w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-launching-on-July-5-696x1237.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-launching-on-July-5-1068x1899.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-launching-on-July-5-1920x3413.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-launching-on-July-5-236x420.jpg 236w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Honor-X50-launching-on-July-5-scaled.jpg 1440w" sizes="(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px" /><figcaption>Honor X50 launching on July 5</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Honor has imprinted the &#8220;Matrix AI Vision Camera&#8221; at the centre of the Honor X50’s camera island. The camera module rim confirms that the device is equipped with a 108-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.67 sensor size and an f/1.75 aperture. Apart from getting spotted at TENAA, the X50 has also been spotted at the 3C certification with a 35W charger. Here is a look at the specifications of the device that have emerged through its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/05/26/honor-x50-full-specifications-revealed-via-tenaa-certification/">TENAA certification</a>.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/honor">Honor</a> will unveil the Honor 90 and Honor 90 Pro smartphones on May 29 in China. Soon after its launch, the company reportedly plans to launch two other products, such as a mid-range phone called the Honor X50, and a foldable smartphone named the Honor Magic V2. The Magic V2 has been <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/05/26/honor-magic-v2-spotted-at-miit-certification-snapdragon-8-gen-2-8-gen-1-variants-expected/">certified by China’s MIIT authority</a> and is expected to debut in July in China. The X50 is expected to launch in June. The device has already been certified by China’s TENAA certification platform, through which its key specifications have emerged.</p>

<h3><strong>Honor X50 specifications (rumored)</strong></h3>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-x50">Honor X50</a>, which has appeared with model number ALI-AN00 at TENAA, has 163.75.5 x 7.98mm dimensions and weighs 185 grams. The device is equipped with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that offers a 1.5K+ resolution of 2652 x 1200 pixels and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. Like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/honor-x40">Honor X40</a> from last year, the X50 may also support a 120Hz refresh rate.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="768" height="432" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Honor-X40-5G.png?x10805" alt="Honor X40 5G" class="wp-image-539618" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Honor-X40-5G.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Honor-X40-5G-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Honor-X40-5G-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Honor-X40-5G-747x420.png 747w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /><figcaption>Honor X40 5G</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-6-gen-1">Snapdragon 6 Gen 1</a> chipset is said to power the Honor X50. The TENAA does not mention the name of the chip, but only states that it is powered by a 2.2GHz processor. It will arrive in RAM variants like 8 GB, 12 GB, and 16 GB.</p>

<p>The X50 will come in storage editions, such as 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB. There is no microSD card slot on the device. It has a 5,700mAh (rated value) battery, which indicates that its typical capacity could be 5,800mAh.</p>

<p>The handset is expected to run on Android 13 OS and Magic UI 7. For selfies, it will feature an 8-megapixel camera. The dual-camera setup available on its back will have a 108-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel auxiliary lens. There is no word on the design of the phone as its images have not appeared in TENAA’s database.</p>

<p>While the upcoming global launch of the Magic 5 series may be <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/honor">Honor</a>’s current focus, the company will release several other smartphones phones in the year. A recent leak revealed the brand has a new mid-ranger with Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC in the works. And today, another Honor smartphone, probably a budget model, has bagged China’s 3C certification with 22.5W charging. Let’s look at the details.</p>

<p>An unknown Honor smartphone with model number RKY-AN10 has bagged China’s compulsory 3C certification. While the handset’s marketing name is yet to be known, the listing shows it will be equipped with an HW-100225C00 charger that supports 22.5W fast charging. This is a familiar charger that is used by many Honor and Huawei smartphones.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Honor-smartphone-3C.webp?x10805"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="360" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Honor-smartphone-3C-1024x360.webp?x10805" alt="Honor smartphone 3C" class="wp-image-516428" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Honor-smartphone-3C-1024x360.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Honor-smartphone-3C-300x105.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Honor-smartphone-3C-768x270.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Honor-smartphone-3C-696x245.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Honor-smartphone-3C-1068x375.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Honor-smartphone-3C-1195x420.webp 1195w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Honor-smartphone-3C.webp 1440w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></figure></div>

<p>The charger is equipped with Huawei&#8217;s fast charging protocol and is compatible with Qualcomm&#8217;s QC2.0 fast charging chip. It is capable of charging at 9V/2A and 5V/2A, and comes with a Type-C data cable that supports a current of 3A. Previously, it was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/02/01/new-honor-mid-ranger-snapdragon-6-gen-1-launch-soon/">reported</a> that Honor has a smartphone with a 6,000mAh battery in the works. Could it be the same device? We’ll learn that in near future.</p>

<p>The same handset was also rumored to pack a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. To remind you, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/09/07/qualcomm-unveils-snapdragon-6-gen-1-snapdragon-4-gen-1-5g-chipsets/">Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 </a>was announced recently as a new mid-range SoC from Qualcomm. Manufactured on the latest 4nm process node, the processor uses Cortex-A78 CPU as its main core. The primary core can go up to 2.2 GHz. According to claims, the SoC provides a 35% boost in graphics performance and a 40% increase in computational performance.</p>

<p><a href="https://gizmochina.com/tag/sony">Sony </a>is expected to launch as many as six smartphones in 2023, according to a <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyXperia/">Reddit user.</a> All of them will be equipped with Snapdragon chipsets. Before reading on, people should take the leak with a grain of salt because its source could not be confirmed.</p>

<p>As per the leak, there are six Sony Xperia phones planned for the year 2023. The model numbers of these devices are PM-142x-BV, PM-143x-BV, PM-144x-BV, PM-145x-BV, PM-146x-BV, and PM-147x-BV. Among these, three devices will feature the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-2">Snapdragon 8 Gen 2</a> mobile platform, two devices will have the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-4-gen-1">Snapdragon 4 Gen 1</a>, and there will be one device featuring the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-6-gen-1">Snapdragon 6 Gen 1</a>. </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="643" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Sony-Xpera-Pro-II-1024x643.jpg?x10805" alt="Sony Xpera Pro-I" class="wp-image-494039" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Sony-Xpera-Pro-II-1024x643.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Sony-Xpera-Pro-II-300x188.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Sony-Xpera-Pro-II-768x482.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Sony-Xpera-Pro-II-696x437.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Sony-Xpera-Pro-II-1068x671.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Sony-Xpera-Pro-II-669x420.jpg 669w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Sony-Xpera-Pro-II.jpg 1161w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Sony Xperia Pro-I</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>It is likely that the Xperia 1 V, Xperia 5 V, and Xperia Pro 2023 may feature the SD8G2 chip. In 2020, Sony launched the Xperia Pro, featuring the Snapdragon 865 chip. The Xperia Pro-I, powered by the Snapdragon 888 was released in 2021. With only two months remaining in this year, it appears that the Japanese tech giant has no plans to release a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 / 8+ Gen 1 powered Xperia Pro model this year.</p>

<p>The Xperia 10 V could be powered by the SD6G1. There is a possibility that the Xperia Ace IV may feature the SD4G1. In October, the rumor mill spilt some details about the Xperia Ace IV. It is expected to arrive with a 5.5-inch OLED FHD+ display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, SD4G1, 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, a microSD card slot, a 4,500mAh battery with 18W charging, and a 3.5mm audio jack.</p>

<p>The other SD4G1 phone could be the same Ace model with different branding for markets outside of Japan. The detailed specs of the other Sony phones are not known yet.</p>
