<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/?s=apple">Apple</a> made a host of announcements at last night&#8217;s annual WWDC (worldwide developer conference). The Cupertino-based tech giant unveiled the next-generation software versions including <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/06/11/ios-18-launched-brings-apple-intelligence-user-experience-enhancements/">iOS 18</a>, iPadOS 18, macOS 15 Sequoia, and more. The biggest takeaway alongside the software is the inclusion of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/06/11/apple-intelligence-personalized-ai-ios-18-ipados-18-macos-sequoia/">Apple Intelligence</a> on iPhones, iPads, and Macs. Alongside this, upcoming OS on Macs and iPads also come with additional improvements.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In this post, we round up all the new features introduced with the macOS 15 and iPadOS 18 along with the list of compatible devices.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>macOS 15 Sequoia: all new features and compatible devices</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/macOS-15-1024x576.webp?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-631025" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/macOS-15-1024x576.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/macOS-15-300x169.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/macOS-15-768x432.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/macOS-15-696x391.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/macOS-15-1068x601.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/macOS-15-747x420.webp 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/macOS-15.webp 1250w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The biggest highlight of the macOS 15 Sequoia is the addition of iPhone Mirroring which allows users to control their iPhone on Mac without having to pick up their phone. You can perform functions like swiping between home screens, sending and receiving text and images, launching apps, access notifications, and changing audio playback as well as volume. Throughout the process, the iPhone remains secured and locked.&nbsp;</p>

<p>macOS 15 Sequoia makes window tilting efficient. Users can drag a window to the edge of the screen and the OS will automatically adjust side-by-side tiles. Those can also be arranged as per the user’s preferences. For video conferencing, the update brings a new Presenter Preview feature that lets users apply custom backgrounds.&nbsp;</p>

<p>macOS 15 Sequoia also gets support for AAA gaming titles including the upcoming Assasin Creed Shadows, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, Resident Evil 2, Frostpunk 2, Palworld, Sniper Elite 4, and RoboCop: Rogue City. There will also be a Game Mode that will improve the frame rate and power management.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Coming to the compatibility, all Macs powered by Apple’s M-series processor are eligible to receive the macOS 15 Sequoia. Some older models including the 2017 iMac Pro, 2018 Mac Mini, 2018 MacBook Pro, 2019 Mac Pro and 2019 iMac will also get the next-generation OS.&nbsp;</p>

<h2>iPadOS 18: all new features and compatible devices</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/iPadOS-18.jpeg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-631026" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/iPadOS-18.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/iPadOS-18-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/iPadOS-18-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/iPadOS-18-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/iPadOS-18-747x420.jpeg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>iPad OS 18 now lets you customize the home screen, app icons, and Control Centre. Users can also arrange app icons and widgets freely. The personalization is similar to iOS 18.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Apple has finally added the native Calculator app on iPads which is similar to iPhones but still has a few tricks up its sleeve. The app’s UI on tablet lets users take advantage of the large screen. When the iPad is paired with an Apple Pencil, it unlocks the Maths Notes feature. It allows users to write down math problems and get instant solutions. There is support for variables and updates results when the inputs are changed. The notes can be saved for later.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Notes app also gets a SmartScript feature that refines the user’s handwriting with machine learning and make it legible. iPadOS 18 also features a new floating tab bar above the app content and integrating with the sidebar for improved navigation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>All iPads running M-series processors will get the iPadOS 18. It will also arrive on iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later), iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and later), iPad Air (3rd generation and later), iPad (7th generation and later), and iPad mini (5th generation and later).&nbsp;</p>

<h2>Common features on macOS 15 Sequoia and iPadOS 18</h2>

<p>Apple has introduced the Passwords app on macOS 15 Sequoia and iPadOS 18. It will be a dedicated place for storing all your passwords, passkeys, and credentials in one place. The messages app on both Macs and iPads now feature schedule send, text effects, emojis, and sticker TapBacks. The Safari browser is getting a Highlights feature that will let you discover information on the web conveniently. Meanwhile, the redesigned reader now offers a summary and table of contents to get the gist of the entire article before reading. </p>

<p><a href="https://gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple </a>introduced Apple Intelligence, a personal intelligence system integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia at the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference (<a href="https://www.gizmcohina.com/tag/wwdc">WWDC</a>). It leverages generative models and personal context to deliver intelligent features and experiences across Apple devices. Available for A17 Pro, M1, M2, M3, and M4 series chip-powered Apple devices, Apple Intelligence offers personalized AI tools to help with daily tasks like prioritizing notifications and managing emails, all while ensuring privacy through on-device data processing.</p>

<h3><strong>Apple Intelligence: All the key features</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized is-style-default"><img loading="lazy" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Apple-Intelligence.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-630964" width="980" height="551" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Apple-Intelligence.jpg 980w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Apple-Intelligence-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Apple-Intelligence-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Apple-Intelligence-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Apple-Intelligence-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px" /><figcaption>Apple-Intelligence</figcaption></figure>

<p>Writing tools in Apple Intelligence include options for rewriting with multiple versions, as well as proofreading and summarizing tools integrated into all apps. The Mail app benefits from Smart Reply suggestions and the ability to surface priority emails at the top of the inbox. Image creation is enhanced with the Image Playground, allowing users to create images in sketch, illustration, and animation styles. Genmoji, generative AI emoji based on profile pictures, add a fun element, while the Clean Up tool helps remove unwanted people and objects from photos. The Memories feature enables users to create video stories by typing descriptions, with song suggestions to match.</p>

<p>For audio and transcription, the Notes and Phone apps now allow users to record, transcribe, and summarize audio. When recording a phone call, participants will be notified, and a summary will be provided once the call ends. Siri also sees significant enhancements with a new look, improved context retention, and the ability to type questions. Siri can now understand more natural language and will gain the capability to operate apps with on-screen awareness over the next year.</p>

<p>Integration with OpenAI brings ChatGPT into the mix, accessible through Siri and systemwide writing tools. Apple assures users that their requests and information will not be logged, with options for ChatGPT premium features. The technical aspects of Apple Intelligence include Private Cloud Compute, which uses server-based models for complex queries without storing user data, and independent verification to ensure privacy and security promises are met.</p>

<p>While the ChatGPT integration is expected later in the year, it may not be available at the initial launch of iOS 18. Nonetheless, Apple Intelligence represents a significant step forward in personalized AI, offering a seamless and secure experience across Apple devices.</p>

<p><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a>&#8216;s upcoming developer conference, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/wwdc-2024">WWDC 2024</a>, might see the introduction of an AI <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/app-store">App Store</a>. This could be a major shift in Apple&#8217;s AI strategy. Traditionally, Apple develops its own apps and integrates AI features into its operating systems. However, analyst Ben Reitzes believes Apple might prioritize creating a platform for various AI apps from different developers.</p>

<h3>Rumors suggest that Apple has communicated with companies like Google &amp; Baidu</h3>

<p>This approach reflects Apple&#8217;s past success with app stores like <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/itunes">iTunes</a> and the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/iphone">iPhone</a> App Store. Apple convinced other companies to join these platforms while offering their own products as well.</p>

<p>Reitzes predicts Apple will showcase how users can purchase AI apps at WWDC. This new App Store could potentially include Apple&#8217;s own AI assistant (an upgraded <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/siri">Siri</a>) alongside offerings from competitors.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="1007" height="635" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/image-10.png?x10805" alt="Apple" class="wp-image-595521" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/image-10.png 1007w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/image-10-300x189.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/image-10-768x484.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/image-10-696x439.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/image-10-666x420.png 666w" sizes="(max-width: 1007px) 100vw, 1007px" /></figure></div>

<p>The concept of an AI App Store isn&#8217;t entirely new. Other analysts have envisioned a similar model, suggesting Apple might hold internal discussions about it at WWDC.</p>

<p>There&#8217;s also speculation that Apple might have spoken with companies like <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/google">Google</a> and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/baidu">Baidu</a> about adding their AI services to this potential App Store. Google&#8217;s<a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/google-gemini"> Gemini AI</a>, already available through a regular app, could easily fit within an AI-specific store. With WWDC expected in early June, we&#8217;ll have to wait and see if Apple unveils this new approach to AI. Stay tuned for future coverage from Gizmochina.</p>

<p>Apple&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/03/26/apple-wwdc-2023-rumored-for-june-5/">WWDC 2023 </a>event is tomorrow, and there have been many leaks about what the company might announce. One of the most interesting rumors is that Apple may be discontinuing the &#8220;Hey Siri&#8221; trigger phrase. Currently, we can activate Siri by holding down the power button or saying &#8220;Hey Siri.&#8221; However, the new rumor suggests that Apple may be changing this. Here are the details&#8230;</p>

<h2><strong>Apple Improves Siri&#8217;s Accuracy and Responsiveness with New Trigger Phrase Instead of &#8220;Hey Siri&#8221;</strong></h2>

<p>When it comes to technology, leaks are inevitable. Someone always reveals something during the development or production stages, which is enough to keep technology enthusiasts busy until the products we are waiting for are announced. When it about Apple products, these <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/03/28/apple-launch-m2-ipad-pro-magsafe-charging/">leaks are usually the responsibility of Mark Gurman</a>. As the Gizmochina team, we also closely follow this journalist, who is famous for frequently revealing the secrets of Apple. According to his most recent claim, the &#8220;Hey Siri&#8221; command may be phased out.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/apple-remove-hey-siri-phrase-1024x576.webp?x10805" alt="Apple hey siri" class="wp-image-541763" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/apple-remove-hey-siri-phrase-1024x576.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/apple-remove-hey-siri-phrase-300x169.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/apple-remove-hey-siri-phrase-768x432.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/apple-remove-hey-siri-phrase-696x392.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/apple-remove-hey-siri-phrase-1068x601.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/apple-remove-hey-siri-phrase-747x420.webp 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/apple-remove-hey-siri-phrase.webp 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Apple is reportedly planning to drop the &#8220;Hey Siri&#8221; trigger phrase. The change would allow users to invoke Siri hands-free by simply saying &#8220;Siri,&#8221; without the need to say the wake word first. The change is reportedly part of a larger effort by Apple to improve Siri&#8217;s accuracy and responsiveness. The company has been working on ways to make Siri more natural and user-friendly, and this change would be a significant step in that direction.</p>

<p><strong>Gurman said in his post that he revealed the situation:</strong></p>

<p>&#8220;The company is working on an initiative to drop the &#8220;Hey in the trigger phrase so that a user only needs to say &#8220;Siri&#8221;—along with a command. While that might seem like a small change, making the switch is a technical challenge that requires a significant amount of AI training and underlying engineering work. The complexity involves Siri being able to understand the singular phrase &#8220;Siri&#8221; in multiple different accents and dialects. Having two words — &#8220;Hey Siri&#8221; — increases the likelihood of the system properly picking up the signal.&#8221;</p>

<p>Apple has announced that its annual <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/03/26/apple-wwdc-2023-rumored-for-june-5/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Worldwide Developers Conference</a> (WWDC) will take place online between June 5th and 9th, 2023. Developers and students will also have the opportunity to celebrate the opening day of the event in person at Apple Park with a special experience. Here are the details&#8230;</p>

<h2><strong>WWDC23 Kicks Off on June 5th</strong></h2>

<p>The <a href="https://developer.apple.com/wwdc23/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">WWDC23</a>, which will be free for all developers, will focus on new developments for the latest iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. The event, which is part of Apple&#8217;s effort to help developers create innovative applications, provides developers with the opportunity to connect with the company&#8217;s engineers. <p>Susan Prescott, Vice President of Global Developer Relations at Apple, shared her thoughts about the WWDC event:</p>

<p>&#8220;WWDC is one of our favorite times of the year at Apple because it&#8217;s an opportunity to connect with talented developers from around the world who make this community so extraordinary, both online and in person. WWDC23 will be our biggest and most exciting conference yet, and we can&#8217;t wait to see many of you online and in person at this very special event!&#8221;</p>

<p>In addition to the announcements shared in the Keynote and State of the Union presentations, this year&#8217;s online program will also offer one-on-one lab sessions. Participants and students will have the opportunity to interact with Apple engineers and other developers, as well as attend a special day at Apple Park on June 5th to watch the Keynote and State of the Union events with the global online community.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="578" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/when-is-ios-17-coming-apple-reveals-wwdc-2023-date-1-1024x578.webp?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-526370" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/when-is-ios-17-coming-apple-reveals-wwdc-2023-date-1-1024x578.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/when-is-ios-17-coming-apple-reveals-wwdc-2023-date-1-300x169.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/when-is-ios-17-coming-apple-reveals-wwdc-2023-date-1-768x433.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/when-is-ios-17-coming-apple-reveals-wwdc-2023-date-1-696x393.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/when-is-ios-17-coming-apple-reveals-wwdc-2023-date-1-1068x602.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/when-is-ios-17-coming-apple-reveals-wwdc-2023-date-1-745x420.webp 745w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/when-is-ios-17-coming-apple-reveals-wwdc-2023-date-1.webp 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>WWDC23 also supports the Swift Student Challenge, one of many Apple programs aimed at advancing the skills of developers and students of all ages who love coding. With the help of Swift Playgrounds, which makes learning the Swift programming language fun and interactive, students can gain expertise in developing applications on any topic they choose. The event will culminate in a competition, and students can submit their work from now until April 19th for consideration.</p>

<p>Every year, Apple&#8217;s WWDC event not only showcases new technologies but also provides significant opportunities for developers. What are your thoughts on the WWDC23 event? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments section below.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/03/24/apple-seeking-patent-face-id-apple-watch/">Apple enthusiasts and developers</a> alike eagerly await the annual World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC), which traditionally takes place during the first week of June. According to the latest rumors, Apple is expected to hold its WWDC 2023 event on June 5. Last year&#8217;s conference occurred on June 6, making the rumored date for this year&#8217;s event unsurprising. Here are the details&#8230;</p>

<h2><strong>Apple’s WWDC 2023 Keynote Rumored To Take Place On June 5Apple&#8217;s WWDC 2023 Keynote Rumored for June 5: What to Expect</strong></h2>

<p>Rumors of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/03/08/apple-macbook-air-m3-chip-wwdc-launch-rumors/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">WWDC 2023</a> date have emerged from an unlikely source: flight app details. Flighty app developer Ryan Jones shared on Twitter the dates of several flights converging on California on June 4, with California being the home of Apple&#8217;s headquarters and Apple Park.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">See ya at WWDC!<br><br>Team <a href="https://twitter.com/FlightyApp?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@FlightyApp</a> decided to take a tiny flyer on the dates and just book it. <a href="https://t.co/XxTbzEQ1XG">pic.twitter.com/XxTbzEQ1XG</a></p>&mdash; Ryan Jones (@rjonesy) <a href="https://twitter.com/rjonesy/status/1639368524492619782?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 24, 2023</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p>Following Jones&#8217;s tweet, well-known tipsters in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/03/24/twitter-to-kill-legacy-verified-checkmarks/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Twitter</a> space chimed in with their commentary. ShrimpApplePro, who has a substantial following for accurately providing Apple product details, stated that WWDC 2023 will take place on June 5. SnoopyTech also shared the same date, emphasizing the importance of the first week of June.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">So June 5th huh <a href="https://t.co/0GQKWAUd4H">https://t.co/0GQKWAUd4H</a> <a href="https://t.co/VJR7EyoLaK">pic.twitter.com/VJR7EyoLaK</a></p>&mdash; ShrimpApplePro <img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/13.1.0/72x72/1f364.png" alt="🍤" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> (@VNchocoTaco) <a href="https://twitter.com/VNchocoTaco/status/1639608486383484928?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 25, 2023</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p>Typically, Apple announces the official WWDC event date a month prior. Last year, Apple announced the WWDC 2022 on April 6, and the event took place exactly a month later, on June 6. For WWDC 2023, we can anticipate a similar timeline, with a possible press release on April 5.</p>

<p>While the main focus of WWDC is software, there is a chance that this year&#8217;s event could include a surprise hardware announcement. The much-speculated AR headset could make its debut at WWDC 2023. If not, attendees can at least expect a preview of a new operating system.</p>

<p>It is important to remember that these rumors are just that—rumors. In the past, many such speculations have proven to be unfounded. As such, we encourage readers to treat this information with caution and stay tuned for the official Apple WWDC 2023 press release.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple">Apple</a> has been working on its new MacBook Air models for some time and now we finally have information about the potential launch timeframe for the laptops.</p>

<p>According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the Cupertino-based technology giant is expected to launch the new MacBook Air 13-inch and 15-inch models in June at <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wwdc">WWDC</a>.</p>

<p>The Apple M2 chipset and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-air">MacBook Air</a> models powered by it were announced at WWDC last year, so it won&#8217;t be a surprise if the company continues the launch the new M3 chip and MacBook Air models at this year&#8217;s WWDC.</p>

<p>A report from 9to5Mac reveals that the 13-inch MacBook Air, with codename J513, is already in the works and will come powered by the yet unannounced M3 chipset. The company will also launch a 15-inch MacBook Air with the codename J515, powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m3">M3 processor</a>.</p>

<p>Earlier, there were reports about the MacBook Air 15-inch model powered by the M2 and M2 Pro chips to launch in April, but new reports indicate that there won&#8217;t be any such models. It appears that the 15-inch MacBook Air will get the entry-level M3 chip similar to the 13-inch model, with an 8-core CPU.</p>

<p>There is also no evidence that there will be a more powerful version of the chips for the upcoming MacBook Air models, like the M3 Pro. Apart from the MacBook Air, the company is also expected to launch an updated <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-pro">13-inch MacBook Pro</a> powered by the M3 chipset.</p>

<p>The previous version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro was among the first devices to come powered by the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-silicon">Apple Silicon</a> chip and the company continues the same for the next-generation processor.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-464361 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Pro-2022.jpg?x10805" alt="Apple 13-inch MacBook Pro 2022" width="980" height="653" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Pro-2022.jpg 980w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Pro-2022-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Pro-2022-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Pro-2022-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Pro-2022-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px" /></p>
<p>In terms of design, this new version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro mostly remains unchanged compared to its predecessor. There&#8217;s still a Touch Bar at the top of the keyboard, a feature that has been removed from the 14-inch and 16-inch models.</p>
<p>Unlike the new MacBook Air, this laptop does not come with support for a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/magsafe">MagSafe charger</a>.  Instead, there are two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports for both charging and peripherals.</p>
<p>The new 13-inch MacBook Pro features a 13.3-inch Retina display, with a P3 wide color gamut and TrueTone technology with up to 500 nits of brightness. At the top of the screen, there&#8217;s a 720p <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/facetime">FaceTime</a> HD camera, making it the lowest resolution webcam in the entire MacBook series product.</p>
<p>Under the hood, the laptop is powered by the Apple <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m2">M2 processor</a> which is built on the second-generation 5m process. It is claimed to offer an <span style="font-family: Verdana, BlinkMacSystemFont, -apple-system, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Open Sans', 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif">18 percent faster CPU, a 35 percent more powerful GPU, and a 40 percent faster Neural Engine.</span></p>

<p>Apple says that with a faster 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU, working with RAW images in Affinity Photo is nearly 40 percent faster than the previous generation, and up to 3.4x faster for users who are upgrading from a model without Apple silicon.</p>
<p>It also comes with support for ProRes encode and decode in the media engine of ‌M2‌, which allows users to play back up to 11 streams of 4K and up to two streams of 8K ProRes video, and they can convert their video projects to ProRes nearly 3x faster than before. As for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/battery">battery life</a>, it offers up to 20 hours of video playback on a single charge.</p>
<p>The new 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro has a starting price of $1,299 and will be available for purchase from next month but the company has not revealed the exact date yet.</p>

With this, the company has updated the laptop which was last refreshed a couple of years ago.</p>
<p>The new Apple MacBook Air comes powered by the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/06/07/apple-m2-chip-announced/">M2 chip</a> and continues to have a fanless design. Instead of the regular 13.3-inch display, the laptop comes with a new 13.6-inch display with up to 500 nits of brightness.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-464335 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022.jpg?x10805" alt="Apple MacBook Air 2022" width="1960" height="1306" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022.jpg 1960w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-1536x1023.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-1920x1279.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1960px) 100vw, 1960px" /></p>
<p>The screen is said to be 25 percent brighter than its predecessor and it comes with support for 1 billion colors. As for the design, the device looks quite similar to the 14-inch and 16-inch <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-pro">MacBook Pro</a> models of last year.</p>
<p>Powered by the new M2 processor, Apple claims that the Final Cut Pro performance is nearly 40 percent faster than on the M1 Air and Photoshop is up to 20 percent faster.</p>
<p>There are two Thunderbolt ports on the left side, along with a headphone jack with support for high-impedance headphones. It also has added support for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/magsafe">MagSafe connector</a> for charging. However, it still misses out on some of the ports, such as HDMI and SD Card reader, among others.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-464336 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-Features.png?x10805" alt="Apple MacBook Air 2022 Features" width="3298" height="1814" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-Features.png 3298w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-Features-300x165.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-Features-1024x563.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-Features-768x422.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-Features-1536x845.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-Features-2048x1126.png 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-Features-696x383.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-Features-1068x587.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-Features-1920x1056.png 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-MacBook-Air-2022-Features-764x420.png 764w" sizes="(max-width: 3298px) 100vw, 3298px" /></p>
<p>It also comes with an updated 1080p camera along with four speakers and three microphones. Apple said that there&#8217;s also support for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dolby">Dolby</a> Atmos spatial audio. The Magic Keyboard now has<span style="font-family: Verdana, BlinkMacSystemFont, -apple-system, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Open Sans', 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif"> a full row of function keys with Touch ID and Force Touch trackpad.</span></p>
<p>The laptop measures just 11.3 millimeters thick and weighs 2.7 pounds (1.2 kilograms). As for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/battery">battery life</a>, the company is promising up to 18 hours of video playback and with an optional 67-watt power adapter it can charge up to 50 percent in 30 minutes.</p>
<p>The new Apple MacBook Air comes in four color options &#8212; Silver, Space Gray, Midnight, and Starlight. It will be available for purchase from next month with a starting price of $1,199.</p>

The introduction of the M2 chip marks the debut of the second-generation Apple Silicon processors.</p>
<p>As the name itself indicates, Apple M2 is a successor to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m1">M1 chipset</a> announced a couple of months ago and comes with a promise of major performance improvements.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-464324 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Featured-scaled.jpg?x10805" alt="Apple M2 Chip Featured" width="2560" height="1440" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Featured-scaled.jpg 2560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Featured-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Featured-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Featured-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Featured-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Featured-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Featured-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Featured-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Featured-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Featured-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px" /></p>
<p>The new Apple M2 chip is using Apple&#8217;s custom <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/arm">ARM</a> silicon and is built using the 5nm process with 20 billion transistors, which the company says is 25 percent more than the original M1 processor.</p>
<p>The company is also promising an 18 percent faster CPU and a 35 percent faster GPU compared to the M1. Apple also says that the performance is about 1.9x faster than the &#8220;latest 10-core PC laptop chip&#8221; but hasn&#8217;t directly named the competition.</p>
<p id="M6scCI">Apple is also using new performance and efficiency cores on the M2. There are four high-performance cores, with four high-efficiency cores on the M2, with a shared 16MB cache on the performance cores, and a shared 4MB cache on the efficiency ones.</p>
<p id="gnULvy">Coming to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/gpu">GPU</a>, there are now up to 10 cores, two more than the original M1. It also boosts graphics performance through a larger cache and higher memory bandwidth. Apple is promising up to 35 percent better performance compared to its predecessor.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-464323 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Features.jpeg?x10805" alt="Apple M2 Chipset Features" width="2000" height="1125" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Features.jpeg 2000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Features-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Features-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Features-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Features-1536x864.jpeg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Features-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Features-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Features-1920x1080.jpeg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Apple-M2-Features-747x420.jpeg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 2000px) 100vw, 2000px" /></p>
<p>It also comes with 100Gbps of memory bandwidth and 24GB of unified memory, which is 50 percent more bandwidth than the predecessor. The chip also features a next-generation secure enclave and neural engine. It also has an updated media engine that supports 8K H.264 and HEVC video. This means that it will be able to play multiple streams of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/4k">4K</a> and 8K video simultaneously.</p>
<p>The new Apple MacBook Air and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-pro">MacBook Pro</a> are the first devices from the company to come powered by the new Apple M2 chipset. Similar to its predecessor, we expect Apple to launch a few more variants of this new chip in the coming months.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-447960 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/macbook-air-rounded-mock-orange.jpg?x10805" alt="Apple" width="1600" height="900" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/macbook-air-rounded-mock-orange.jpg 1600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/macbook-air-rounded-mock-orange-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/macbook-air-rounded-mock-orange-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/macbook-air-rounded-mock-orange-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/macbook-air-rounded-mock-orange-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/macbook-air-rounded-mock-orange-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/macbook-air-rounded-mock-orange-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></p>
<p>Apple has scheduled <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wwdc">WWDC</a> 2022 to take place from 6th June to 10th June and if the company makes hardware announcements, then the MacBook Air will be a part of it. If that doesn&#8217;t happen, then he belives it could be because of the supply chain issues.</p>
<p>Recently, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had said that the 2022 MacBook Air will have a new form factor design and more color options. He also said that it will not feature a tapered design but it could get shipped it with a more <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MacBook Pro</a>-like design.</p>
<p>The laptop is also expected to be thinner and lighter, and may even launch in color options similar to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/imac/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">24 inch iMac</a>, which is available in blue, green, pink, silver, yellow, orange, and purple color options. It is even rumored to offer an off white bezel and a matching off white keyboard, which is a major shift away from its typical black keyboards.</p>
<p>There are conflicting reports about the processor that will power the upcoming MacBook Air laptop. While it should be the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m2">M2 processor</a>, as some reports have claimed is the case, there are a few reports that indicate Apple opting to use the old <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m1">M1 chip</a> for the new MacBook Air because of the supply chain issues.</p>

The Californian giant is expected to announce the latest software upgrades for all of its devices. Undoubtedly, fans are most excited for the next iOS version, which is expected to be the iOS 16. <em>Bloomberg&#8217;s</em> Mark Gurman has now revealed that the iOS 16 will bring improvement in one of the major areas like the notifications management.</p>
<p>Gurman reveals that iOS 16 will offer improved notification management. He hasn&#8217;t said anything specific, but we may expect improvements to the notification panel or push notifications.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-454411 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ios15-notifications.jpg?x10805" alt="iOS 16 " width="1600" height="900" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ios15-notifications.jpg 1600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ios15-notifications-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ios15-notifications-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ios15-notifications-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ios15-notifications-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ios15-notifications-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ios15-notifications-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px" /></p>
<p>Furthermore, new health-tracking features are expected to be included in the upcoming iOS. However, the specific features have yet to be revealed. The iOS 16 is said to be codenamed Sydney. This name could also be an indication of the mixed reality headset and its interaction with the iPhone, as per Gurman.</p>
<p>That being said, we could also see the long-due VR headset at the event in June. Apple might also showcase a demo of the headset&#8217;s rOS revealing its features.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-436608 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Screenshot-2022-01-11-124300.png?x10805" alt="Apple" width="682" height="385" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Screenshot-2022-01-11-124300.png 682w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Screenshot-2022-01-11-124300-300x169.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 682px) 100vw, 682px" /></p>
<p>Apart from this, iPad OS 16 will arrive at the event. The new version is expected to bring a better multitasking UI. <span class="red-underline" data-startindex="117" data-endindex="123" data-paragraphid="9">watchOS</span> 9, macOS, and tvOS will also show up at the event. However, no details regarding them have been revealed.</p>

<p>The company has already launched a few hardware products this year, including the all-new Mac Studio and Studio Display. Now, if the reports are to be believed, then the Cupertino-based tech giant is gearing up to launch a few more products at <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wwdc">WWDC</a>.</p>

This is in line with his previous reports where he indicated a new product launch sometime in summer this year.</p>
<p>One of the Mac devices launching during WWDC is expected to be the much-talked-about Apple <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-air">MacBook Air</a> which will come with an updated design and powerful specifications. It is likely to be powered by the new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m2">M2 processor</a> as the company has confirmed during the M1 Ultra launch that the M1 family is now complete.</p>
<p>The other device that the company is planning to introduce in June this year could be a redesigned iMac. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-imac">27-inch iMac</a> is expected to come with a design similar to the M1-powered 24-inch iMac, with white bezels and multiple color options to choose from.</p>
<p>Apart from these two products, the company is also expected to launch some more products towards the end of the year, including the new Mac Mini and a new MacBook Pro that will replace the current 13-inch <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-pro">MacBook Pro</a>.</p>

But while the company was expected to launch its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/12/14/apple-27-inch-imac-pro-miniled-launch-spring-2022/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">new iMac Pro in a spring event</a>, a new rumor has suggested that its release has been delayed to summer.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-385397 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/iMac-featured.jpg?x10805" alt="iMac featured" width="720" height="438" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/iMac-featured.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/iMac-featured-300x183.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/iMac-featured-696x423.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/iMac-featured-690x420.jpg 690w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></p>
<p>According to <em><a href="https://twitter.com/dsccross/status/1488215580834365441?s=21" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Ross Young</a></em> from Display Supply Chain Consultants, the Cupertino based giant&#8217;s latest iMac entry will be arriving sometime in summer of this year. The news arrives after analyzing the supply chain, with other known analysts like Ming-Chi Kuo backing the claim. In his tweet, Ross Young added that the new iMac Pro will be arriving in Summer, rather than Spring, and is expected to sport mini LED display technology.</p>
<p>Although, these panels will house &#8220;fewer zones&#8221; than the one&#8217;s used on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ipad-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iPad Pro</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-macbook-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MacBook Pro</a>. DSCC had also previously reported that the new iMac Pro&#8217;s mini LED panel will support ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate as well. Furthermore, the iPhone maker is also gearing up to launch a new redesigned iMac that will feature a 27 inch display. Under the hood, these PCs are believed to run on Apple&#8217;s current gen silicon, including the M1 Pro and M1 Max chipset that is available on MacBook Pro models.</p>

<p>As per <a href="https://9to5mac.com/2022/01/31/new-apple-silicon-imac-release-date/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>9To5Mac</em></a>, the upcoming iMac Pro was initially expected to launch sometime in the spring event in March or April 2022. Now, Apple might likely announce the product during its WWDC 2022 event, which will be held sometime in June. The reason for this delay is unclear at the moment, but rising demand of its notebooks and tablets might be a factor, considering they also sport mini LED panels.</p>

It has already launched MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, and recently the new iMac, all powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-m1">M1 chipset</a>.</p>
<p>The company is also working on new MacBook Pro models with a revamped design and probably in two different sizes &#8212; 14-inch and 16-inch. Now, Jon Prosser <a href="https://twitter.com/jon_prosser/status/1396915038154334214">claims</a> that the devices could go official at the upcoming WWDC, which <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/30/380975-apple-ww-dc-2021-june-7-official-expected-announcements/">kicks off on 7th June</a>.</p>

<p>It remains to be seen if the upcoming models come powered by the M1 chipset or the new M2 or M1X chipset which has <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/04/27/apple-m2-processor-mass-production-macbook-pro/">already entered mass production</a>. The company already has MacBook Pro models powered by the M1 chipset so the new models will likely come with a new chipset that is yet to be launched by Apple.</p>
<p>A <a href="https://www.macrumors.com/2021/05/18/redesigned-macbook-pro-launch-limited-supply/">report from Bloomberg</a> claims that the device will come packed with a 10-core Apple silicon chip with eight high-performance cores and two energy-efficient cores, along with 16 or 32-core GPU options and support for up to 64GB RAM.</p>
<p>Earlier, it was reported that the upcoming 14-inch and 16-inch models of the MacBook Pro will feature a Mini-LED backlight display. It was also said that Ruiyi Optoelectronics will be the exclusive supplier of these new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mini-led">Mini-LED panels</a>.</p>
<p>It was revealed that Quanta Computer will be responsible for the final assembly of the upcoming MacBook devices. There are also reports that indicate that the company is bringing back the MagSafe magnetic charging to the MacBook. It is also said that Apple is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/15/apple-macbook-pro-2021-details-revealed/">getting rid of the TouchBar</a> and replacing it with the physical function keys.</p>
<p>Apple is reportedly planning to reintroduce the MagSafe port, and the 2021 MacBook Pro models could feature an HDMI port and an SD card reader in addition to a trio of Thunderbolt/USB-C ports.</p>
<p>Similar to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/04/20/apples-incredibly-thin-new-imac-has-an-m1-chip-and-comes-in-seven-colors/">newly launched iMac</a>, there&#8217;s a possibility that the device could be made available in multiple color options. Based on the models launched so far, it&#8217;s likely that the pricing for these new models will mostly remain the same as the current models.</p>
