Samsung could be about to make its Galaxy Z Fold series feel more premium and durable. The company is reportedly testing a thicker layer of Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) on upcoming models, which could finally make the dreaded crease much less noticeable at first glance and help the screen hold up better against everyday bumps and drops.

According to supply chain reports, Samsung is looking at a 60-micron-thick UTG layer. That’s a noticeable jump from what we’ve seen before. This thicker glass is apparently being tried out first on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide: the broader, passport-style version that has a different aspect ratio. It makes sense as a test run. If it works well, we could see it roll out more widely on the Galaxy Z Fold 9.

For comparison, the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to stick with the current 45-micrometer glass that’s been used on recent models like the Z Fold 7. This selective approach lets Samsung gather real-world feedback on the new material without betting everything on it at once.

The Z Fold 6 used 30-micrometer glass, then later models moved up to 45 micrometers for better toughness. Jumping to 60 microns would be another solid step forward.

Beyond the display, Samsung is also working on better hinges and protective layers overall. The goal? Make Galaxy foldables more reliable for heavy multitasking, watching videos, and getting actual work done.

All of this is happening as Samsung gears up for its next big Unpacked event. Rumors point to July 22, 2026, in London, UK. If these upgrades land as expected, the Z Fold 8 Wide could really stand out as a more refined option in a foldable market that’s getting more competitive every year.

It’s still early days and nothing is officially confirmed yet, but these developments show Samsung is listening to feedback and pushing foldable hardware forward. The listing clearly shows the model number MRK-NX1 and confirms 5G support, a step up from the regular 4G-only X7e. It also showed up earlier on the SGS certification database (number FI-69290), with standard safety info like support for lithium batteries and compliance for EU and Saudi Arabian markets.

For those who haven’t seen the original Honor X7e yet, it launched recently in Malaysia as a value-packed 4G phone. It comes with a massive 7500mAh battery and 45W fast charging, a 6.61-inch HD+ LCD screen with up to 120Hz refresh rate, and a MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra processor. It runs Android 16 with MagicOS 10 and includes IP64 dust and water resistance as a nice touch. Honor also gave it strong durability certifications, including SGS 5-star drop and crush resistance.

Since the certifications for the X7e Plus 5G don’t share full specs yet, we don’t know exactly what’s under the hood. But the move to 5G likely means a more capable chipset that can not only offer faster connectivity but also handle heavier apps and games relatively better.

he rivalry between DJI and Insta360 has officially turned into a full-blown patent battle in the US. Just days after Insta360 launched its new Luna Ultra, DJI slapped them with lawsuits, and Insta360 quickly fired back with countersuits of their own. It’s a classic tit-for-tat fight that shows just how high the stakes are in the pocket gimbal and vlogging camera world right now.

Insta360 unveiled the Luna Ultra on June 10, 2026, as a premium dual-lens gimbal camera co-developed with Leica. It boasts 8K video recording, 4K 120fps slow-motion recording, a detachable OLED touchscreen, and seriously advanced stabilization. But on the very same day, DJI filed two lawsuits in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas against Insta360. DJI claims the Luna series infringes on their design and utility patents related to the Osmo Pocket lineup. They’re asking for a permanent ban on sales in the US, plus damages.

Insta360 didn’t waste any time. On June 12, they hit back with two countersuits, accusing DJI of infringing on five of their own utility patents. According to Insta360, these technologies show up in many DJI products, including the Osmo Pocket series, Ronin/RS gimbals, Osmo Mobile, and Osmo 360 cameras.

Insta360’s founder, JK Liu, put out a strong statement: “At Insta360, we prefer to let our products do the talking. But we are not afraid of a legal battle when challenged. We are fully committed to protecting our innovations and will take decisive action to defend our intellectual property from infringement.” He pointed out that the Luna Ultra came from years of their own R&D starting back in 2020, building on earlier products like the ONE R, Link Series, and Flow gimbals — not by copying anyone. Liu even suggested DJI’s same-day lawsuit showed “fear of competition from a highly competitive product.”

Insta360 has firmly rejected DJI’s claims. The Luna Ultra, priced around $770, reportedly got off to a strong start, becoming a top seller in Amazon’s camcorder category in the US during its first day. The company sees it as a fresh, innovative option in the stabilized vlogging space thanks to its dual lenses and modular design.

This fight builds on previous patent disputes the two companies had in China. As the cases move forward in Texas, a hotspot for IP battles, the outcome could affect product availability and shape how both brands approach innovation going forward.

OnePlus has done a great job building trust in the budget TWS space. The Nord Buds 3 series from 2024 was popular for offering good battery life and decent IP ratings at competitive prices. The Nord Buds 4 seems to continue that smart approach while updating the design for better ergonomics and a more contemporary look. Two of China’s biggest camera brands are now taking each other to court in the US. DJI filed not one but two lawsuits against Insta360 just days ago, on or around June 10, 2026. The target is Insta360’s newly launched Luna series of gimbal cameras, which DJI claims bear a little too much resemblance, both visually and technically, to their Osmo Pocket line. Both suits were filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

What exactly is DJI accusing them of?

The first lawsuit is about design patents. DJI is arguing that the Luna cameras look too similar to the Osmo Pocket 3: the slim handheld body, the distinctive neck connecting it to the gimbal arm, the rotating screen, the side ports, the bottom interface. Close enough, DJI says, to genuinely confuse buyers.

The second lawsuit goes deeper, targeting four utility patents covering the actual technology inside the cameras: things like how the gimbal switches between “lock mode” and “follow mode,” the subject tracking system, and how the display integrates with the gimbal in real time. DJI goes as far as saying Insta360 “blatantly copied” these inventions with full knowledge of the patents, which opens the door to enhanced damages for willful infringement.

As remedies, DJI is seeking a permanent ban on Luna product sales in the U.S., along with damages — at minimum a reasonable royalty, and potentially a full disgorgement of profits.

This is also not happening out of nowhere. Earlier in 2026, DJI was already pursuing patent ownership claims in China, tied to inventions allegedly developed by former DJI engineers who later joined Insta360. The tension between these two companies has been building for a while, and this US lawsuit is more of an escalation than a surprise.

Insta360 is expected to fight back. They’ve already signaled intentions to defend vigorously, including potential countersuits over their own IP in pocket gimbals and 360-degree imaging.

SK Hynix generated about $28 billion in revenue and saw its market share fall to 28.8%, down 4.1 percentage points from the previous quarter. Micron Technology remained in third place with $21.7 billion in revenue and a 22.4% market share, despite posting robust 81.6% growth.

Industry analysts attribute the surge to booming demand for AI infrastructure. Data centers running generative AI models require large amounts of High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) and advanced DDR5 DRAM, driving both shipments and prices higher. TrendForce data also shows Samsung benefiting from strong server DRAM demand and some of the largest increases in average selling prices.

China’s Changxin Memory Technologies (CXMT) was another notable performer. The company nearly tripled its quarterly revenue to $7.3 billion, increasing its market share from 4.7% to 7.6%. While still well behind the industry’s top three suppliers, CXMT continues to expand its presence as China invests heavily in domestic semiconductor production and AI infrastructure.

For Samsung, the results highlight the growing importance of AI-driven memory demand. Xiaomi has unveiled a new smart home gadget that tries to replace several appliances at once. Called the Mijia Instant Hot Water Dispenser (Ice Maker), it’s part water dispenser, part ice maker, part kettle, and even works as a thermos-style hot water station.

Xiaomi has also made installation fairly flexible. If you already have a water purifier at home, the machine can connect directly to it for automatic refilling. If not, there’s a removable 2.6-liter water tank that can be filled manually. That should make it easier to place in a kitchen, office, or even a living room without worrying about plumbing.

The ice-making system sounds surprisingly capable as well. According to Xiaomi, the machine can produce a batch of five 6g ice cubes in as little as 10 minutes in fast mode, while the standard mode produces five larger 10g cubes in around 15 minutes. The storage compartment can hold 45 to 55 cubes and keeps them chilled for about five hours.

Hot water is available almost instantly thanks to a 2050W heating system, with Xiaomi claiming a wait time of just three seconds. Users can choose from several preset temperatures, while those using the Mi Home app can adjust water temperature more precisely between 40°C and 90°C.

There’s quite a bit of attention paid to hygiene too. The company says the machine uses separate UV sterilization systems for both ice and cold water, along with high-temperature pipe cleaning to reduce bacteria buildup. Features like automatic draining and cold-water circulation are also designed to keep the system fresh during long-term use.

Other extras include a color display for monitoring settings, child-lock protection, app connectivity, and operating noise below 35dB during fast ice production.

Price and availability:

The new device is scheduled to go on sale in China on June 15. Its retail price is 3,299 yuan, although Xiaomi will offer it at a discounted launch price of 2,969.1 yuan.

Apple opened WWDC with a closer look at iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, and unsurprisingly, AI was the main theme of the presentation. Alongside a number of visual tweaks and performance improvements, Apple spent a lot of time talking about the next generation of Apple Intelligence and what it means for everyday iPhone and iPad use.

The biggest announcement was the new Siri AI experience. Apple is giving Siri a much larger role across its software, even introducing a dedicated app for the assistant. According to the company, Siri can now better understand personal context, what’s currently on your screen, and information from the web, allowing for more natural conversations and more useful actions.

Whether it lives up to that promise is something users will find out once the software reaches more devices, but it’s clear Apple is trying to make Siri feel less like a voice command tool and more like a genuine AI assistant.

Apple also made a few changes to the Liquid Glass design language introduced previously. Users can now adjust transparency levels with a slider, and the interface itself looks a bit cleaner thanks to “more uniform refraction and improved contrast”.

There are some performance gains as well. Apple says apps launch up to 30% faster, photos appear in the library more quickly, and AirDrop transfers can be 80% faster than before. The company also highlighted improvements to network switching between Wi-Fi and cellular connections.

A number of smaller features were announced too. Mail search is getting smarter, VoiceOver can provide more detailed image descriptions, and subtitles now support automatic syncing and translation. One update that stood out is support for full-resolution contributions to iCloud Shared Albums from Android and Windows users, something many people have wanted for quite a while.

On the iPad side, Apple is adding a tool that can turn a collection of photos and videos into a customizable slideshow complete with transitions, music, and export options. Calendar events can also be created or edited using natural language, and file transfers to external storage devices are reportedly up to five times faster.

As usual, not every feature will be available on every device. The more advanced Apple Intelligence features require newer hardware, while many of the broader improvements will work on older supported iPhones and iPads.

Developer builds are available starting today, with a public beta expected next month and a wider rollout planned for later this year. AI may have dominated the keynote, but a lot of the updates Apple showed were actually about making everyday tasks a little faster and a little less frustrating.

Huawei has been experimenting with the widescreen foldable form factor for quite a while, and Apple is also doing the same for its first foldable handset. The wider design improves the usability of the phones whether they are folded or unfolded.

The latest HyperOS leak suggests Xiaomi may be heading in the same direction. After skipping a direct successor to the Mix Fold 4 from 2024, the company is reportedly working on a new foldable with a wider form factor.

Some enthusiasts have already overlaid the leaked UI onto renders of Huawei’s Pura X Max, and the fit is surprisingly convincing. While that doesn’t confirm anything on its own, it does add weight to the idea that Xiaomi is experimenting with a wider form factor.

The device is currently being referred to by several possible names, including the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 and Xiaomi 18 Fold, though some leaks still mention Xiaomi 17 Fold.

Early reports point to a triple-camera setup developed in partnership with Leica, potentially led by a 200MP primary sensor.

Power is expected to come from Xiaomi’s in-house Xring O3 chipset, another sign of the company’s growing focus on developing key technologies internally. Rumors also mention improvements to multitasking in HyperOS, a refined hinge mechanism, and the kind of performance expected from a premium flagship device.

There is still plenty we don’t know. Xiaomi hasn’t officially acknowledged the device, and specifications could change before launch. Apple has officially shared which devices will support its next round of major software updates following the announcements at WWDC 2026. As expected, the new releases bring a mix of upgrades, including improvements to Apple Intelligence, a smarter “Siri AI” experience, and a refreshed design in several areas. But support isn’t exactly the same across every product category.

For iPhone users, the news is pretty straightforward. iOS 27 will be available on all iPhone models that currently support iOS 26. That means devices ranging from the iPhone 11 lineup to the latest iPhone 17 series will be covered, along with the iPhone 16e, iPhone Air, and iPhone SE (2nd generation and newer). It’s a broad support list and gives a lot of users another year without worrying about replacing their phone.

The iPad story is a bit different. Apple is trimming support for a handful of older models this time around. Devices losing compatibility include the 2018 versions of the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro, the 8th-generation iPad, the 5th-generation iPad mini, and the 3rd-generation iPad Air. Newer models remain supported, including iPad Pro models from the 2nd-generation 11-inch and 4th-generation 12.9-inch onward, as well as newer iPad Air, iPad, and iPad mini models.

Mac users are seeing an even bigger shift. With macOS 27 Golden Gate, Apple is effectively closing the chapter on Intel support. The update will only be available on Macs powered by Apple silicon. That includes recent MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, the Mac mini, iMac, Mac Studio, Mac Pro, and the newly introduced MacBook Neo. If you’re still using an Intel Mac, this appears to be the end of the road for major macOS upgrades.

The biggest surprise initially came from watchOS 27. When Apple first published its compatibility list, the Apple Watch Series 9 was missing, leading many users to assume it had been dropped. That quickly raised questions, especially since the Series 9 shares the same S9 chip as the Ultra 2. Apple later confirmed the omission was a mistake and updated its website to include the Series 9 among supported devices.

With that correction, watchOS 27 is compatible with the Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, Series 11, Ultra 2, Ultra 3, and the latest Apple Watch SE.

Meta is facing fresh privacy questions after a report revealed that its smart glasses companion app contains dormant facial recognition technology.

The feature, reportedly called “NameTag,” isn’t active right now. But according to the investigation, code related to facial recognition has been included in multiple updates to Meta’s AI app since January 2026. That’s notable because the app isn’t some niche download. It’s required for several of Meta’s smart glasses products, including the Ray-Ban Meta lineup, and has reportedly been installed more than 50 million times.

Researchers who examined the code say it could use the glasses’ camera to detect faces, create biometric identifiers, and compare them against a database stored locally on a user’s phone. If there’s a match, the wearer could receive a notification identifying that person.

Even though the feature remains switched off, the idea is enough to make privacy advocates uneasy. Facial recognition has been one of the most controversial technologies in consumer tech for years, and Meta has a complicated history with it.

Back in 2021, Meta announced that it was shutting down Facebook’s facial recognition system and deleting more than a billion stored faceprints after years of criticism, regulatory scrutiny, and legal battles. Those included a $650 million settlement in Illinois and a later $1.4 billion settlement in Texas over biometric privacy claims.

The newly discovered code suggests Meta may still be exploring similar technology, at least internally. Researchers reportedly found references to three AI models used for face detection and processing, along with traces of a user-facing feature that would help people remember individuals they’ve met. One test even generated a sample recognition notification using a face template based on philosopher Michel Foucault.

Meta, however, says people shouldn’t read too much into the discovery just yet.

Company spokesperson Ryan Daniels stated that the code reflects internal experimentation rather than a planned product launch. According to Meta, no final decision has been made, and the company isn’t building a centralized facial recognition database. The company has also said it would move carefully and be transparent if it ever decided to bring such a feature to consumers.

Still, the report is likely to reignite a debate that never really went away. Supporters of wearable AI often point to the convenience these systems can offer, while critics worry about how easily they could blur the line between useful assistance and constant surveillance.

Samsung‘s Galaxy A27 has popped up in another leak, and while it’s not revealing anything major, it does add a new color to the mix. Up until now, the phone had been shown in Black, Blue, and Light Pink. A fresh set of images shared by tipster Mohammed Khatr suggests Samsung is also working on an Awesome Mint version. It’s a pale green shade.

The leak doesn’t really change what we think we know about the phone itself. The Galaxy A27 still appears to follow Samsung’s recent design approach, with flat sides, a punch-hole display, and a triple-camera setup on the back. If you’ve seen a recent Galaxy A-series phone, this will probably look pretty familiar.

As for the specs, they seem pretty much in line with what you’d expect from Samsung in this price range. The device is rumored to feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ display, possibly with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a 50MP main camera that includes optical image stabilization. There’s also talk of a 5,000mAh battery and 25W charging support.

Inside, the Galaxy A27 is expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. Paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, it should have no trouble handling everyday stuff. Nobody is buying a Galaxy phone like this for performance anyway. What matters more is that it feels smooth day to day, and on paper at least, it looks capable enough.

The A27 is expected to launch with Android 16 and One UI 8.5, and Samsung will continue offering several years of updates, which is becoming a bigger selling point for entry-level and mid-range Galaxy devices.

The Galaxy A27 doesn’t seem like it’s trying to reinvent anything. It’s shaping up to be another solid A-series phone with decent cameras and a few eye-catching color options.

Apple‘s next big MacBook refresh may be arriving sooner than many expected, and the latest supply-chain chatter suggests it could be much more than a routine spec bump.

According to research firm Omdia, Samsung Display is preparing to start shipments of new hybrid OLED panels for a rumored MacBook Ultra in July 2026. On paper, the display sizes don’t sound dramatically different: 14.3 inches and 16.3 inches versus today’s 14.2-inch and 16.2-inch MacBook Pro models. However, the slight increase points to thinner bezels and a more modern overall design.

The display technology itself is arguably the bigger story. Omdia says Apple is expected to use oxide TFT and RGB tandem OLED panels, which should offer better efficiency than conventional OLED implementations.

If the current timeline holds, the MacBook Ultra could make its debut sometime in the third quarter of 2026. September feels like the obvious window.

Under the hood, the machine is expected to run on Apple’s upcoming M6 Pro and M6 Max chips. Those upgrades are expected. The more intriguing part is the redesign that’s reportedly coming with them.

Apple hasn’t made major changes to the MacBook Pro’s overall look since the M1 Pro and M1 Max generation arrived in 2021. By then, the design was a deliberate move back toward practicality. Now it appears the company may be ready to push things forward again with a thinner and lighter chassis while trying to preserve the performance and thermal headroom professional users expect.

Then there’s the touchscreen rumor.

Samsung‘s rumored Galaxy S27 Pro may still be months away, but it’s already looking like one of the company’s most interesting smartphone releases in quite some time.

A new leak suggests the device could pack a 5,000mAh battery, which doesn’t sound particularly surprising until you look at the rest of the rumored specifications. The Galaxy S27 Pro is said to feature a 6.47-inch display, although the latest leak rounds that up to 6.5 inches. Either way, it would make the device noticeably smaller than the Galaxy S27 Ultra.

To be fair, the Ultra model was previously reported to feature a slightly bigger cell in the 5,200mAh to 5,500mAh range. But battery life isn’t determined by capacity alone.

The Pro’s smaller display should consume less power in day-to-day use, and Samsung may also opt for a slightly more conservative performance profile to better manage heat in the smaller chassis. If that happens, the gap in real-world battery life could end up being much smaller than the battery capacities suggest. In fact, the S27 Pro could potentially match, or even exceed, the Ultra’s endurance in certain usage scenarios.

For those wondering, the S27 Pro is also rumored to use the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset as the Galaxy S27 Ultra. That means the two devices should benefit from similar efficiency gains at the silicon level.

The camera situation could be just as interesting.

Leaks suggest Samsung may bring the same main and ultra-wide sensors set to be used in the Ultra to the Pro model, while also adding a 50MP 3.5x ALoP telephoto camera.

The Ultra, on the other hand, is rumored to retire its 3x 10MP telephoto lens and rely on sensor cropping from the main 200MP camera up to 5x zoom. If that’s the case, the S27 Pro’s dedicated 3.5x telephoto camera could prove more useful for day-to-day photography.

Samsung will likely position the Ultra as the ultimate camera flagship in the lineup. But based on the leaks so far, the Pro model may actually end up being the more practical and more interesting option for most users.

The case for the Galaxy Z Flip 8 looks fairly unsurprising. Based on the leaked renders, Samsung doesn’t appear to be making any major changes to the overall design.

The Fold lineup is where things start to get more interesting.

We have been seeing renders and dummy units of the wider Fold model for some time now, but the leaked cases add another piece of evidence pointing in the same direction.

The fact that accessory makers are already producing cases based on these dimensions also lends some credibility to the rumors. Case manufacturers typically work from supply chain information and early device measurements, which suggests the wider aspect ratio and revised camera layout we’ve been seeing in leaks may be reasonably close to the final product.

Samsung’s tall and narrow Fold design has its fans, but several competing foldables have already moved toward wider displays, and the response has generally been positive.

The wider form factor may also give Samsung more room to differentiate an “Ultra” model without completely reworking the formula.

According to current rumors, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could be slightly slimmer than the Fold 7 while packing a larger 5,000mAh battery, a notable jump from the 4,400mAh capacity Samsung has used for several generations.

The Fold 8 Ultra case image doesn’t reveal much on its own, but it does support the idea that Samsung is focusing on refinement rather than a dramatic redesign.

Xiaomi has also started teasing the 17T series for China, highlighting its silicon-carbon battery design and claiming a 16% silicon content, the highest the company has used so far.

Globally, the standard model comes with a 6,500mAh battery, while the Pro variant steps up to 7,000mAh. Xiaomi’s teasers for China also reiterate the 7,000mAh figure for the series. The company claims up to 1.88 days of typical use, along with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging on the Pro. It also rates the battery to retain 80% capacity after 1,600 charge cycles.

Design-wise, the phones lean into a cleaner flagship-style look with a curved frame, slim bezels, and a flat display. The 17T Pro runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chip, built on a 3nm process, with gains in GPU performance and efficiency over the previous generation.

Camera hardware is again co-developed with Leica. The Pro model is said to include a triple setup led by a 50MP main sensor, a 5x periscope telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide shooter. Zoom support goes up to 120x digitally, with Leica color tuning and multiple shooting modes carried over from earlier collaborations.

TSMC CEO C.C. Wei took a subtle jab at Samsung this week, suggesting the company’s long-running goal of catching up to the foundry leader remains just that: a goal.

Speaking during a shareholder-related Q&A session, Wei expressed confidence that Taiwan’s dominance in contract chip manufacturing isn’t going anywhere. Without mentioning Samsung directly, he mocked a familiar pattern from a rival that has spent years promising to close the gap.

“Twenty years ago, our competitor said they would catch up with TSMC in 10 years,” Wei said. “Ten years ago, they said they would catch up in another 10 years; and recently, they said yet again that they would catch up in 10 years.”

The comment landed as demand for AI hardware continues to push the semiconductor industry into overdrive. While both TSMC and Samsung are investing heavily in advanced nodes, including 2nm production, the reality is that the two companies remain far apart in the foundry business.

TSMC controls roughly 70% of the global pure-play foundry market, according to recent industry estimates. Samsung sits closer to 7%, and despite years of investment, it has struggled to consistently challenge TSMC’s lead in advanced manufacturing and production scale.

A major reason is AI. Companies building accelerators for AI workloads increasingly rely on TSMC not only for leading-edge process technology but also for advanced packaging solutions such as CoWoS. Those capabilities have become just as important as transistor density, especially for customers like NVIDIA racing to deploy increasingly powerful AI hardware.

That’s not to say Samsung lacks strengths. The company remains a major force in memory and is widely viewed as a leader in High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), one of the most critical components inside modern AI systems. Wei himself acknowledged Samsung’s position in that segment.

Still, when it comes to foundry services, TSMC continues to benefit from something that’s difficult to replicate: execution. Consistent yields, deep customer relationships, and a manufacturing ecosystem built over decades have helped the company maintain a lead that rivals have yet to seriously threaten.

For now, Wei appears unconcerned. His message was simple: competitors can keep setting deadlines, but catching up is much harder than predicting it.

Huawei has unveiled the Smart Screen S7 X Pro, the latest addition to its Vision Smart Screen lineup, bringing MiniLED panel, high-refresh-rate gaming support, and a range of AI-powered features aimed at modern living rooms.

The new model comes in 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch sizes, priced at 6,299 yuan, 7,999 yuan, and 10,999 yuan respectively.

At the heart of the S7 X Pro is a 4K Super MiniLED display with up to 1,000 local dimming zones, allowing for improved contrast and more precise lighting control. Huawei is also targeting gamers, with a 288Hz refresh rate. An AI-based light control system automatically adjusts brightness to suit viewing conditions and reduce glare.

Audio is another area Huawei is emphasizing. The TV features a three-way 2.1-channel sound system capable of reaching bass frequencies as low as 60Hz, aiming to deliver a more immersive experience without the immediate need for a separate soundbar.

The Smart Screen S7 X Pro runs HarmonyOS 4.3 and is powered by a Huawei-developed processor. Huawei says its memory expansion technology helps improve multitasking performance across apps and services.

Huawei has quietly rolled out the nova Y74 in international markets, bringing a familiar formula to the budget segment: a large battery, a large display, and a focus on durability.

Huawei has fitted the phone with a 6,620mAh silicon-carbon battery. The company claims it can deliver up to 24.9 hours of online video playback, or around 48 hours of calling on a full charge.

Charging speeds are also fairly decent for the segment. With 40W wired charging, the battery is said to reach about 53% in 30 minutes. A short 15-minute top-up, Huawei says, should be enough for roughly five hours of video playback.

The phone sports a 6.67-inch LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, HD+ resolution, and up to 850 nits of brightness. It’s not the sharpest panel you’ll find in 2026, but it is quite common in this price range. On the positive side, Huawei has also added wet-touch support, a feature that’s surprisingly useful if you’ve ever tried using your phone in the rain.

Around the back is a 50MP main camera housed in a square camera island, while selfies are handled by an 8MP front-facing camera.

The rest of the package is fairly straightforward. You get 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, dual-SIM 4G support, and EMUI 12 out of the box. There’s also Huawei’s customizable X Button, which can be assigned to launch apps or shortcuts.

The chipset isn’t listed on Huawei’s official page. GSMArena, however, suggests it may be a Kirin 8000-series processor, based on its close resemblance to the Huawei Enjoy 90 Plus.

Huawei is also putting some emphasis on durability. The company says the nova Y74 has earned SGS 5-Star Drop Resistance certification and can survive drops from up to 1.8 meters.

Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, although the phone is expected to land in the budget category once it reaches more markets. Looking at the hardware, the nova Y74 seems aimed at buyers on a budget who care more about battery life and reliability than having the latest processor or 5G connectivity.

Huawei remains firmly in control of China’s foldable smartphone market, but Honor is starting to chip away at its lead.

Fresh IDC figures for Q1 2026, shared by Honor Global CMO Guan Haitao on Weibo, show Huawei holding a dominant 60% share of China’s foldable segment. Honor came in second with 21%, continuing the momentum generated by its Magic V lineup.

The rest of the market trails well behind. Oppo captured 6%, while Vivo and Xiaomi accounted for 5% and 4% respectively. Combined, Huawei and Honor now control more than four-fifths of China’s foldable market.

The company has consistently led the category over the past year thanks to strong demand for its Mate and Pura foldables, along with the growing reach of its HarmonyOS ecosystem. Back in Q3 2025, Huawei’s share was close to 70%.

What stands out in the latest numbers is Honor’s progress. Its share has nearly doubled from the 11.2% recorded in Q3 2025, helped by newer devices such as the Magic V6, which has attracted attention for its slim design and flagship-level hardware.

The broader smartphone market in China wasn’t as healthy. IDC estimates total shipments fell 3.3% year-over-year in the first quarter to around 69 million units, with higher component costs and supply-chain pressures weighing on demand.

Foldables, though, continue to outperform the wider market. Consumer interest in premium devices remains strong, and manufacturers are still finding ways to improve the experience with thinner designs, less visible creases, and better battery life.

Industry data from late 2025 already hinted at this trend. Foldable shipments reached 2.63 million units in Q3, up 17.8% from a year earlier, and that momentum appears to have carried into 2026.

Honor acknowledged the latest rankings with a simple “Learn from the best” post on social media, a nod to the company it is chasing.

According to Weibo tipster Fixed Focus Digital, development of the alleged iPhone Ultra is progressing rapidly, and prototypes have already been sent to global carriers for testing.

The use of a vapor chamber would help address that challenge. Apple already brought the technology to the iPhone 17 Pro series. Bringing it to a foldable makes sense, as the larger display will likely encourage multitasking.

The tipster also repeats earlier claims that Apple will use a liquid metal hinge. Android tablets are getting seriously powerful, and AnTuTu’s latest rankings for May 2026 show just how far things have come.

Leading the chart is the Vivo Pad 6 Pro, which posted an average score of 4,132,697 points. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, it currently sits at the top of the Android tablet performance ladder.

The iQOO Pad 6 Pro isn’t far behind at 4,081,031 points. Given how much hardware the two tablets share, the small gap between them isn’t particularly surprising.

Lenovo’s Legion Y700 5th Gen takes third place with 4,073,338 points. The compact gaming tablet has built a strong reputation among enthusiasts, and these numbers suggest Lenovo has another winner on its hands.

A quick look at the rest of the top ten reveals a clear trend: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is everywhere. The Oppo Pad 5 Pro, OnePlus Pad 3 Pro, and Honor MagicPad 3 Pro 13.3 all make appearances near the top of the list, underlining Qualcomm’s grip on the flagship tablet market right now.

One of the more interesting entries is the Redmi K Pad 2. It’s the only device in the top ten running MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500, yet it still manages an average score of 3,716,562 points, which is enough to keep it firmly in the mix.

Further down the rankings are devices like the H3C MegaBook with Intel’s Core Ultra 5 228V, along with older Snapdragon-powered tablets such as the Oppo Pad 4 Pro and OnePlus Pad 2 Pro.

Xiaomi has introduced a new 20,000mAh power bank in China, adding another option to its growing lineup of portable charging accessories. The device is now available through Xiaomi’s Youpin platform. It’s priced at 149 yuan, which is roughly equivalent to €19 at the current exchange rate.

The new model keeps things fairly simple in terms of design. It comes in light gray and dark gray finishes, has rounded edges, and weighs around 343g.

Alongside the integrated USB-C cable, Xiaomi includes another USB-C port and a USB-A port. All three support up to 22.5W fast charging output. That’s not groundbreaking by 2026 standards, but it’s more than enough for smaller accessories such as earbuds and smartwatches.

The power bank also supports 22.5W bidirectional charging, so it can recharge itself at the same speed it delivers power. Xiaomi says the power bank can bring a Xiaomi 17 to around 25% charge in 30 minutes, while an iPhone 17 can reach about 46% in the same amount of time.

Xiaomi uses two 10,000mAh battery cells for a combined 20,000mAh capacity. Total energy is rated at 74Wh, which keeps it comfortably below the 100Wh limit that most airlines impose on carry-on batteries.

Like most modern power banks, it includes a range of safety protections covering overcharging, overheating, short circuits, and other common risks. Multiple devices can also be charged simultaneously.

The built-in cable is one of the headline features here. Over the last few years, more brands have moved in this direction, and it’s easy to see why. Users can charge most devices without having to carry a separate cable.

For commuters, travelers, or anyone who regularly finds themselves hunting for a charger before the end of the day, it looks like a practical addition to the company’s accessory lineup.

There’s no indication yet of a global launch, but Xiaomi often brings these kinds of accessories to other markets eventually, so wider availability wouldn’t be surprising.

Nvidia‘s upcoming RTX Spark laptops may end up costing a lot more than many expected, putting them directly in competition with Apple’s MacBook Pro lineup.

Fresh pricing estimates from a Morgan Stanley report suggest systems powered by the flagship N1x chip could start at around $2,899. Meanwhile, laptops based on the standard N1 platform are expected to begin at roughly $1,799. If those figures prove accurate, RTX Spark won’t be targeting the mainstream market. Instead, Nvidia appears to be aiming squarely at creators, developers, and power users willing to pay a premium.

The hardware itself is certainly ambitious. RTX Spark combines Nvidia’s ARM-based Grace CPU with a Blackwell RTX GPU, offering up to 20 CPU cores, 6,144 CUDA cores, and as much as 128GB of unified memory. Nvidia is also claiming up to 1 petaflop of AI performance, a figure that highlights just how heavily AI workloads are baked into the platform.

Gaming doesn’t seem to be an afterthought either. During Computex, Nvidia showcased Forza Horizon 6 running at over 100 FPS at 1440p, while partners repeatedly emphasized the platform’s ability to deliver high performance without the bulk usually associated with gaming laptops.

Several manufacturers are already on board. Microsoft’s Surface Laptop Ultra, Dell’s refreshed XPS 16 Creator Edition, Asus’ ProArt P16 and P14, HP’s OmniBook X 14 and OmniBook Ultra 16, Lenovo’s Yoga Pro 9n, and MSI’s Prestige N16 Flip AI+ were all shown as part of the initial wave.

What’s perhaps more interesting is the scale Nvidia is aiming for. The company says the ecosystem could grow to around 30 laptop models and 10 desktop systems by the fall, with more devices expected from Acer and Gigabyte.

Of course, impressive specifications only tell part of the story. Windows on Arm still has questions to answer when it comes to software compatibility and real-world efficiency. Battery life will matter too, especially if Nvidia wants these machines to be viewed as genuine MacBook Pro alternatives rather than just powerful Windows laptops.

Still, RTX Spark is shaping up to be one of Nvidia’s most ambitious PC initiatives in years. The pricing may raise some eyebrows, but the company clearly isn’t trying to compete on affordability.

According to Ice Universe, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to feature a 5,000mAh battery paired with 45W wired charging. If accurate, that would be a noticeable step up from the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which shipped with a 4,400mAh battery and 25W charging.

Samsung has kept the Fold series at 4,400mAh for several generations, even as competitors like the Oppo Find N6 and the Honor Magic V5 have reached the 6,000mAh mark. A jump to 5,000mAh would not suddenly make the rumored Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra a battery monster, but it would certainly narrow the gap.

What’s particularly interesting is that the larger battery reportedly comes without any penalty in size or weight. Ice Universe claims the Fold 8 Ultra will remain around 215g while measuring roughly 4.1mm unfolded and 8.9mm folded.

Current rumors point to two different Fold models. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to retain the familiar tall-and-narrow form factor Samsung has used for years. Meanwhile, the wider Fold variant, which earlier leaks referred to as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, is rumored to adopt a shorter and noticeably wider design. Recent reports suggest Samsung may ultimately market that device simply as the Galaxy Z Fold 8.

The wider model is also rumored to receive battery and charging upgrades of its own. Some reports point to a 4,800mAh battery combined with the same 45W charging support.

DxOMark has finally published its review of the Vivo X300 Ultra, and the result is a little surprising at first glance.

Despite being Vivo’s most expensive camera flagship and arguably one of the most ambitious camera phones released in recent years, the X300 Ultra did not take the top spot among Vivo devices. Instead, it finished with 170 points, just behind the Vivo X300 Pro’s 171-point score. Huawei’s Pura 80 Ultra currently remains ahead of both at 175 points.

On paper, that one-point difference is almost meaningless. Nobody is going to look at two photos and correctly identify a one-point gap in a DxOMark ranking. Still, the result is interesting because the Ultra costs significantly more and carries substantially more camera hardware.

The explanation seems to come down largely to video.

DxOMark awarded the X300 Ultra a noticeably lower video score than the X300 Pro. According to the review, low-light video performance was one of the weaker areas, with more visible noise and less consistent handling of difficult scenes. The Pro apparently did a better job balancing exposure, dynamic range, and noise reduction under challenging conditions.

The X300 Ultra was built around pushing hardware, especially when it comes to zoom photography. Unsurprisingly, some of its strongest results came in telephoto, ultra-wide, portrait, and zoom testing. DxOMark itself gave the device extremely high marks in several of those categories.

In fact, this is where the rankings become a little more complicated.

Someone who spends most of their time shooting portraits, wildlife, distant subjects, or travel photos may very well prefer the X300 Ultra over the X300 Pro despite the lower overall score. A single ranking number doesn’t always capture those differences particularly well.

DxOMark also pointed to occasional image artifacts and moments where processing could look somewhat unnatural. That’s not a criticism unique to Vivo. Many smartphone brands are now leaning heavily on computational photography and AI processing, and sometimes the software gets a little too enthusiastic.

The result highlights something that smartphone enthusiasts have debated for years: the “best camera phone” often depends on what you actually photograph.

The X300 Pro appears to be the more balanced device according to DxOMark’s testing methodology. The X300 Ultra, meanwhile, feels more specialized. It excels in areas that many photography enthusiasts care deeply about, even if that comes with a few trade-offs elsewhere.

That wider layout could end up being one of the device’s most meaningful upgrades.

Foldables have long offered large screens, but many still feel slightly awkward for tablet-style tasks. A more balanced aspect ratio should make split-screen multitasking, reading, and video playback feel more natural.

Samsung also appears to be making progress on weight. According to leaked specifications, the Z Fold 8 (Wide) could weigh just 201g, down from 215g on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. That’s a notable drop for a foldable, especially since the device is also rumored to pack a larger 4,800mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging.

Camera hardware may be a little more restrained. Current reports point to a dual-camera setup led by a 50MP main sensor, paired with an ultra-wide camera. Ice Universe also claims the device will support a native 24MP shooting mode.

The move away from the Fold 7’s 200MP main sensor suggests Samsung could be maintaining a clearer separation between the wider Fold model and the rumored Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

Another area getting attention is the display crease. Samsung has reportedly made significant improvements here, with the crease reportedly matching or even outperforming what is currently seen on Oppo’s latest foldables. While that’s something that will need to be verified once the phone is official, it would address one of the most common complaints about foldable devices.

Asus is bringing healthcare back into the spotlight at Computex 2026, and the new VivoWatch 6 Plus is one of the more notable examples. While the company unveiled plenty of AI-focused hardware this week, the smartwatch stands out because it’s clearly aimed at something bigger than fitness tracking.

At first glance, the VivoWatch 6 Plus looks like a significant step up from the VivoWatch 6 from 2024. The display has grown to 1.43 inches from 1.39 inches on the predecessor, and Asus has added sapphire crystal protection and a titanium alloy case. Together, those changes give the watch a more premium feel than earlier models.

The health side is where most of the changes are. ECG and blood pressure monitoring are still here, but Asus has added sleep breathing movement analysis and gait tracking as well. Neither feature is entirely new to the broader wearables market, but together they suggest Asus is trying to build a more complete picture of a user’s long-term health rather than simply recording daily metrics.

What’s interesting is how the watch fits into the company’s larger plans. Asus spent a good portion of its Computex presentation talking about AI-powered healthcare, and the VivoWatch 6 Plus appears to be part of that ecosystem. Data collected by the watch can feed into the company’s AI Agent healthcare platform, which was demonstrated alongside the new Handheld Ultrasound DuoScan.

In other words, Asus isn’t pitching this as just another smartwatch. The idea seems to be creating a connected health platform where wearables, diagnostic tools, and AI software all work together. That’s an ambitious goal, though it’s still early days.

The VivoWatch 6 included sensors for ECG, PPG, and body composition tracking. There was also the lighter VivoWatch 6 Aero, aimed at users who preferred something smaller and less watch-like. The new Plus model feels like Asus combining both approaches—more premium hardware on one side, deeper health analytics on the other.

Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, so it’s hard to say where Asus intends to position the device against competitors. Even so, the VivoWatch 6 Plus feels like one of those products worth keeping an eye on.

The Pixel Watch 5 has taken another small step toward launch. Multiple new Pixel Watch model numbers have appeared on India’s BIS certification database, and they are widely believed to belong to the upcoming Pixel Watch 5 lineup. As usual, the listings do not reveal much beyond the model numbers themselves, but they do suggest Google‘s next smartwatch is moving through the regulatory process ahead of launch.

The newly spotted entries include G0F3Y, G1XJ6, G25QD, and GFW3R. Based on Google’s previous smartwatch releases, these likely correspond to different size and connectivity variants, including Wi-Fi and LTE models.

The timing is not particularly surprising. Google has traditionally announced new Pixel Watches alongside its flagship Pixel phones, and the Pixel 11 series is already expected later this year.

What’s interesting is that the BIS appearance follows one of the stranger leaks we’ve seen in a while.

Back in May, Gearbox Software co-founder Randy Pitchford shared photos of what was claimed to be a Pixel Watch 5 prototype recovered from the ocean near St. Martin. According to the story, a friend discovered the watch while scuba diving and later noticed Pixel Watch 5 branding on the back. The images appeared to show a 45mm model with support for health-tracking features such as heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen measurements, skin temperature tracking, and ultra-wideband connectivity.

Whether that story ends up becoming part of Pixel folklore or not, the certification listing at least suggests the watch itself is very real and getting closer to release.

There are also rumors that Google could move away from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 platform in favor of an in-house Tensor-based solution. If that happens, the change may end up being one of the more important upgrades in this generation, even if the watch looks largely similar on the outside.

As usual, certifications do not tell us much about the final product. But taken together with recent leaks, they paint a fairly familiar picture: Google’s next smartwatch appears to be on track for a launch later this year alongside the Pixel 11 family.

Samsung Display has shown off a new OLED panel technology that could make future laptops noticeably thinner and lighter.

The company unveiled its “Ultra Slim” laptop OLED panel at Computex Taipei 2026, where it demonstrated a design that reduces the panel’s outer-edge thickness by roughly 20% compared to current mass-produced OLED laptop displays.

That might not sound like a huge difference at first, but shaving millimeters from a laptop is rarely straightforward.

According to Samsung, the improvement comes from reducing the thickness of both the TFT substrate glass and the encapsulation glass by more than 30%. The challenge, of course, is maintaining durability. Thinner glass can be more susceptible to flexing, warping, or other structural issues, which is why Samsung says it had to develop additional manufacturing techniques to make the design practical.

The display itself does not appear to sacrifice any of the characteristics OLED panels are known for. Samsung says the technology supports refresh rates ranging from 165Hz to 240Hz and carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification.

That combination makes it particularly relevant for gaming laptops, where manufacturers are constantly trying to balance performance, portability, battery size, cooling requirements, and display quality. Saving space inside the chassis can have a ripple effect on the rest of the design.

In recent years, laptop makers have spent a lot of effort trimming bezels, reducing motherboard footprints, and developing more compact cooling systems. Displays have not always received the same attention, partly because there are physical limits to how thin panel structures can become.

Samsung’s latest prototype suggests there may still be room to push that further.

The company has not announced any products that will use the panel yet, nor has it shared a timeline for mass production. For now, the technology remains a preview of what future premium and gaming laptops could look like.

Still, if manufacturers can cut display thickness without introducing durability concerns, users may eventually end up with lighter machines without giving up screen size, battery capacity, or performance. That’s usually a trade-off laptop makers are happy to avoid.

Battery capacities have been climbing surprisingly quickly over the past year, and Oppo may be preparing one of the biggest jumps yet.

According to Digital Chat Station, the company is testing a new mid-range smartphone equipped with a battery rated at around 9,700mAh, with typical capacity reportedly reaching the 10,000mAh mark. If the leak proves accurate, the device would comfortably exceed most of today’s battery-focused smartphones.

Reports dating back to late 2025 mentioned a massive single-cell battery entering trial production, carrying a rated capacity of roughly 9,750mAh and a typical value close to 10,000mAh. At the time, it felt more like a glimpse of future hardware than something that might show up in a commercial phone anytime soon.

The leaked device is said to use a 4nm-based chipset, paired with a flat LTPS display carrying a resolution around the 1.5K mark.

The phone reportedly uses high-polymer impact-resistant materials and elements of the company’s “diamond architecture” design, which has appeared in several recent devices aimed at improving drop resistance.

The rumored price is perhaps the most surprising detail. Digital Chat Station claims the device is being positioned around the 2,000 yuan range (roughly €253 at the current exchange rate), which would place it firmly in the mid-range segment rather than the premium category.

Of course, battery capacity alone never tells the whole story. Software optimization, charging speeds, thermal management, and overall efficiency matter just as much. Still, the idea of a mainstream smartphone approaching the 10,000mAh mark would have sounded unrealistic not very long ago.

There are already a handful of smartphones from Realme and Honor that ship with 10,000mAh batteries, including the Realme P4 Power, Realme Narzo Power, Honor Power 2, Honor Win, and Honor WIN RT. It will be interesting to see how quickly the rest of the industry follows, if at all, once 10,000mAh batteries become commonplace in Chinese smartphones.

Asus has announced a special anniversary version of its ROG NUC, and the hardware inside is about as excessive as you would expect.

Called the ROG NUC 16 Edition 20, the compact gaming PC was unveiled to celebrate 20 years of the Republic of Gamers brand. At first glance, the biggest difference is the design. Asus has given the system semi-transparent side panels and gold-colored accents, making it look noticeably different from the standard ROG NUC 16.

The more interesting changes are on the inside.

Like the regular model, the Edition 20 uses Intel’s Core Ultra 9 290HX processor, a 24-core chip based on Arrow Lake-HX. Memory can be configured up to 128GB of DDR5-6400, which is a surprisingly large amount for a machine this size.

The graphics upgrade is where things get serious. Instead of the RTX 5080 Laptop GPU found in the standard model, Asus has opted for NVIDIA’s RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with 24GB of GDDR7 memory.

For a mini PC, that is a lot of graphics horsepower. Only about 15% to 20% of all Mini PCs on the market pack truly capable graphics for gaming.

The system itself occupies roughly three liters of space, making it closer in size to a small console than a traditional gaming desktop. Keeping that kind of hardware cool is not a trivial task, so Asus relies on a triple-fan cooling system and a vapor chamber design. According to the company, the RTX 5090 can operate at power levels up to 175W.

Connectivity is about what you would expect from a premium gaming machine. Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 7, dual HDMI 2.1 ports, dual DisplayPort 2.1 outputs, multiple USB ports, and 2TB of PCIe 5.0 storage all come standard. There is also room for an additional M.2 SSD.

What’s interesting about products like this is that they blur the line between gaming laptops and desktops. The hardware is clearly laptop-derived, but the form factor behaves more like a desktop that happens to be unusually small.

Whether that trade-off makes sense will depend largely on pricing, which Asus has not disclosed yet. Limited-edition ROG products rarely come cheap, and a mini PC carrying an RTX 5090 was never going to be a budget option anyway.

Still, if the idea of fitting flagship gaming hardware into something barely larger than a game console sounds appealing, the ROG NUC 16 Edition 20 is probably one of the more extreme examples we’ve seen so far.
