Huawei Enjoy 70z goes official in China with 6.75” display. 13MP dual cameras

As scheduled, Huawei has officially released the Enjoy 70z smartphone in China today. The company opted not to host a separate launch event but instead listed its specifications directly on the website. Of note, Huawei is holding an event for the Huawei Pocket 2 launch in China today.

Nevertheless, the Huawei Enjoy 70z is a reasonably priced smartphone that covers all the essentials. Let’s delve into its specifics here.

The Enjoy 70z is a reasonably sized device, measuring 168.3mm x 77.7mm x 8.98mm and weighing 199 grams. It boasts a large 6.75-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution (1600 x 720 pixels) and a screen-to-body ratio of 90.26%.

On the camera front, the Enjoy 70z features a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 13MP main lens and a 2MP depth sensor. There is an 8MP lens on the punch-hole cutout in the front for selfies. 

As for the performance, the smartphone is powered by Kirin 710A, an octa-core processor. Memory options include sole 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. Likewise, the phone runs on Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4.0 operating system.  

A highlight of the Enjoy 70z is its large 6000mAh battery, which supports 22.5W charging. The phone also has intelligent power-saving features for extended battery life, as per Huawei.

Price and Availability

The Huawei Enjoy 70z is currently available for pre-order in China, with official sales commencing on February 24th, 2024, at 10:08 AM. 

It comes in two storage options, 128GB priced at 1099 yuan and 256GB priced at 1299 yuan. Color options include Galaxy Blue, Snowy White, and Magical Night Black. The smartphone is currently available for pre-order via VMall in China.

Motorola seems to be busy working on its new Edge 50 smartphone lineup. Recent certifications from various international regulatory bodies have shed light on the possible Edge 50 Pro smartphone, hinting at what’s to come. So let’s get into the details here.

Motorola Edge 50 receives multiple certifications globally

One important update comes from the TDRA certification, which confirmed that the Motorola smartphone with the model number XT2402-2 is the Edge 50 Pro. Although the listing doesn’t provide details on other specifications of the device, it does confirm the official name of the forthcoming phone.

Additionally, the FCC certification website has given the green light to several Motorola smartphones with model numbers XT2403-1, XT2403-2, XT2403-4, and XT2403-5.

Though their marketing names are yet to be revealed, their similarity to the Edge 50 Pro’s TRDA model number suggests these could be different variants of the same device. The FCC certification also reveals that the device with XT2403-2 model number has E-SIM support.

Moreover, in India, the BIS certification has listed Motorola smartphones with model numbers XT2403-1 and XT2431-1. However, it’s unclear whether the latter device is the Edge 50 Pro, part of the Edge 50 series, or an entirely new device.

Of note, the XT2403-2 model also appears in the IMEI database bearing the codename “Macan24”. This codename was previously linked by reliable source Evan Blass to the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, likely confirming that these FCC and BIS certifications relate to the same device.

Additionally, Motorola has also registered the possible Edge 50 series accessories on the TUV Rheinland website. These include a 50W wireless charger, wired chargers capable of up to 125W, and a 4,500mAh battery. 

Although not explicitly confirmed, these accessories are likely intended for the upcoming Motorola Edge 50 series smartphone.

The Galaxy Fit 3 has a 1.57-inch AMOLED display, which can be customized via 100+ watch faces available through the Galaxy Wearable app. While Samsung has not revealed the battery size of the device, it has confirmed that once it is fully charged, it can last for up to 13 days with typical use. As per previous reports, the Fit 3 appears to be equipped with a 208mAh battery. To recall, the Galaxy Fit 2 featured a 1.1-inch AMOLED display and a 159mAh battery.

The Galaxy Fit 3 can track heart rate, sleep, stress levels, and exercises. The tracked data can be viewed on a paired phone through the Samsung Health app. While the device lacks GPS connectivity, it is equipped with sensors like an accelerometer and a gyroscope.

The Galaxy Fit 3 supports features like a remote camera, find my phone, emergency SOS, fall detection, Do Not Disturb mode, and Sleep mode. It does not support voice calling as it lacks a microphone and a speaker. It comes with an aluminum chassis equipped with a silicone strap. Lastly, it offers IP68, and 5ATM-rated dust and water resistance.

According to previous reports, the Galaxy Fit 3’s has a 256 x 402 pixels and 302 ppi pixel density support display, 16 MB of RAM, and 256 MB of storage. It does not allow users to install third-party apps.

A significant majority, three in five Americans, express deep concerns about the safety risks posed by drivers—or more aptly, riders—of self-driving cars who might use the Apple Vision Pro. Despite these safety apprehensions, a surprising one in five are intrigued by the prospect of using the device themselves in an autonomous vehicle.

The demand for legislative action is loud and clear, with 80% of respondents emphasizing the necessity for explicit laws and guidelines governing the use of AR devices like the Apple Vision Pro in self-driving cars. This sentiment spans generations, though baby boomers show the most concern for regulation.

The trucking community, often the first to encounter the realities of road innovation, mirrors the general public’s sentiments. While nearly 60% were unaware of the use of AR devices by drivers of autonomous vehicles, the same ratio—three in five—signals a serious apprehension towards the safety implications. Still, a notable fraction, one in four truckers, remains open to the idea, highlighting a blend of caution and curiosity that characterizes the industry’s approach to technological advancements.

The survey reveals a generational divide in attitudes towards AR in autos. Baby boomers show the greatest concern for safety and the need for regulation, while Gen Z’s worries are less pronounced. Conversely, Gen Xers display a relatively higher willingness to embrace the technology, with Gen Zers showing the least interest in wearing the Apple Vision Pro while at the wheel of a self-driving car.

Instead, they use carbon for their cathode materials, drastically reducing costs and environmental impact.

Published in the prestigious journal Nature, this research showcases batteries capable of enduring 700 charge-discharge cycles at room temperature without losing efficiency. It’s a breakthrough for calcium-based batteries, known for their safety and stable performance.

These developments come at a crucial time. With the demand for lithium soaring due to the boom in new energy vehicles and renewable energy storage solutions, experts have been warning about potential shortages. The new calcium-based batteries, with their high theoretical energy density, present an exciting alternative. They draw oxygen from the air, eliminating the need for material storage within the battery itself, which has been a limiting factor in their development.

The Fudan team’s success lies in their creation of a new liquid electrolyte that meets the strict requirements for a battery’s electrodes while preventing the calcium reactions that could reduce capacity. This electrolyte not only conducts ions effectively at room temperature but also ensures the battery’s safety.

While there’s still a way to go before these batteries can match the lifespan of current lithium-ion cells, their potential applications in portable electronics, wearable devices, and beyond are undeniable. Back in October 2023, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro was spotted in the IMEI database with the model number V2337A. The said device was approved by China’s MIIT certification platform earlier this month. Now, it has bagged approval from China’s 3C regulatory body, indicating that it may go official in March.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro’s 3C listing reveals that it may ship with a 120W fast charger. Apart from revealing that it will offer 5G connectivity, the 3C certification has no other information about the device’s specifications.

According to a new Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro will also offer 50W wireless charging besides 120W wired charging. As far as the battery is concerned, the device may include a 5,700mAh battery.

As can be seen in the screenshot above, the leaker has also revealed the details of the X Fold 3 Pro’s rear camera module. He claimed that it would include a 50-megapixel OV50H main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel OV64B periscope telephoto camera.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is said to be thinner and lighter than the X Fold 2, which has a thickness of 12.9mm (folded state) and weighs 279 grams. It appears that it may debut as the world’s first foldable phone equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

The Vivo X Fold 3 that is expected to launch with the Pro variant is said to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Being a standard model, it is expected to lack features such as an ultra-sonic fingerprint scanner, wireless charging, and a periscope telephoto camera.

The Pro and non-Pro models are expected to feature the same-sized outer and inner displays. The Pro variant is also said to be equipped with ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanners for both displays. A recent leak revealed that the X Fold 3 series may support Mac integration.

The Honor Magic 6 Pro is expected to maintain the same specifications as its Chinese version. It features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and runs on Android 14-based MagicOS 8.0. The device sports a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 2800 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz, protected by Jurhino glass.

The image reveals that the device will not sport the horizontal camera visor that Google has offered on its Pixel phones for the past few years. Now, SmartPrix has teamed up with prominent leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka OnLeaks) to share the CAD renders of the Pixel Fold 2. The new images give a good look at the renewed design of Google’s second-generation Pixel Fold.

The CAD renders showcase the Charcoal variant of the Pixel Fold 2. According to the report, it will feature a display with a diagonal measurement of 7.9 inches. When including the rounded corners, the screen size is likely closer to 8.1 inches. The outer screen size is said to be 6.4 inches, and with the corners included, its size goes up to 6.6 inches.

The report states that the Pixel Fold 2 measures 155.2 x 150.2 x 5.27mm in the unfolded state and 152 x 77.1 x 10.54mm in the folded state.

In comparison, the Pixel Fold measures 139.7 x 158.7 x 5.8mm when unfolded. When folded, the device measured 139.7 x 79.5 x 12.1mm. So, it can be said that Fold 2 has not only increased in size but has also become thinner than the previous generation.

The left side of the Pixel Fold 2 is barren, and its right panel has a volume rocker and a power button. The top edge of the device has an antenna band along with a speaker, whereas the bottom is populated with a USB-C port, a speaker, a microphone, and a SIM slot. A rectangle camera module that appears to house a triple camera system, an LED flash, and a microphone has replaced the rear-facing horizontal camera bar.
